So around 10 months ago I decided I wanted to try animation again. Ever since then I've pretty much been working on this project every day. I've never been able to actually complete a big project like this, so I'm genuinely blown away by the fact that I managed to do this, especially considering how enormous of a task this was.

Also since this animation features Jane Prentiss, content warnings for worms and trypophobia.

This collab I joined like eight months ago that I didn’t really enjoy being in finally got posted today but for some reason only on twitter and I don’t go there so I can’t even see the whole thing :/

#I had. so many quarrels with it.#first of all instead of staying in mutual groups like it was supposed to the collab somehow blew up and got eighty people participating #and THEN you’d think since so many people were there everyone would have like one part right? like what we originally agreed to do with #seven people?#WRONG!!!! I got three parts plus a background without getting consulted about it #and then when I tried to make friends in the discord with all the other artists #at least seven people online at the time were raging mysoginists #telling me no women in this series can be anything except perfect dainty little princesses #except for one woman who was allowed to do a little evil bc she was associated with a MAN #who ACTUALLY wouldn’t be evil #and when I said that’s not accurate to the actual story everyone started crying and saying I offended them #bc ‘they thought really hard about this!!’ stfu you piece of shit #and then everyone in the discord sexualised the fuck out of my fave character who. also happened to be the one I was drawing.#so I got too grossed out to finish my part and ignored the disc for several months #and the host never thought once to tag everyone for check in until a week before the deadline #so I dropped all but one of my parts (the one I had mostly finished when I got grossed out)#and finished that and didn’t touch the disc again for the sake of my own mental health #but it finally got posted and I can’t even see it I only have my groups picture #but whatever. I didn’t like anyone there anyway at least I can leave the disc without feeling guilty now #inkbagel speaks

Had an insomnia night last night. Which like usual lead to me casting on a new doily at 4 am (and sleeping until 3pm so I didn't get the good day time lighting for this photo).

This one is at least small and experimental. I was info dumping about Neibling to my father and used this doily as an example of both how Neibling sometimes would make insertions/edging for woven fabrics (which how I wanted to figure out how to turn them into stand alone doilies), and how a lot of Neibling patterns simply do not have modern photos. Upon a bit of a closer look I figured out I could solve both those problems for this particular design!

According to these charts, the center knit alone insertion (chart a) finishes with 180 stitches, and the edging charts have a 12 stitch repeat, for 15 total repeats into 180 stitches! (i was very proud of this math at 0345 lmao)

It's going to annoy me that chart B won't actually line up with chart A in an elegant way like most Neibling doilies but it's worth it just to be able to see what this pattern. Actually looks like in more pixels than there are stitches in the doily.

okay okay okay, this is a dumb question.

but if you were reading a long ongoing fic, would you rather the writer take a super long hiatus (i don't know how long exactly) to write the rest and start updating weekly when it's completely finished or do something like... month long hiatus then four weekly updates then another hiatus etc etc?

i feel like month on/month off would be more manageable. but would it also be more annoying? idk i'm overthinking it. i just had the idea and i was like 'is this genius or am i ever the fool?' ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ let me know! (reply or send an ask with opinions?)
