The Shadows Want You to be Happy

Summary: Azriel’s shadows overhear a conversation where you doubt Azriel’s true intentions, and they urge him to rectify the situation.

Author’s note: this is just pure fluff baby! Pure unadulterated fluff. Go to the dentist! Also I didn’t proofread this, so enjoy at your own caution!

His shadows didn’t mean to spy on you, they promise. They just liked keeping an eye on you at all times.

Azriel had no idea why his shadows seemed to adore you so much - well, he could understand it, because he adored you just as much as his shadows did. But he can’t figure out why - they don’t like being around Elain, but most of the others the shadows just watch.

Not you, though. Whenever you two are in the same room his shadows roam over you, greeting an old friend. If he’s been away for a days on a mission, they spend several minutes swirling around you, seemingly doting on you, like they’re asking “are you okay? Did you eat while we were gone? Did you sleep?”

A few shadows have taken it upon themselves to stay stationed with you at all times. He thinks they have a schedule, out of jealousy and need to share their time with you, but they don’t really tell him too much about what they see. The most they’ll tell him is if you haven’t eaten in a while or that time they told him about you having a cold and not wanting anyone to find out. He spent three days in your apartment with you, feeding you soup and taking care of you.

His shadows absolutely do not tell him the things you say or how you’re feeling, or so he thought. Both of the shadows that were asking as your bodyguards came to him, like little kids with a story to tell.

You were laying on the couch in the library with Feyre, engrossed in your independent books. The two of you do this weekly, enjoying each other’s presence without much social obligation. Sometimes the two of you will talk, but it’s often followed by long, comfortable silences. Just when you thought the silence was going to stay for a while, Feyre spoke up.

“so, sweetie, how are things with you and Azriel?” She asks, closing her book to turn to you.

Your cheeks heat immediately. “Um,” you say, closing your book to turn to her, knowing that she won’t relent until she gets what she wants out of this conversation.

You had kept your feelings for him mostly to yourself, except one drunken night a few weeks ago you had told Feyre about how pretty he was. You thought she might have forgotten about it, but this conversation is telling you she wants more. Thank the mother it wasn’t Rhys or Cas you had told that to - they would have mocked your word choice of “devastatingly pretty” for years.

“Well, we have plans to go out tonight,” you reply, very nervous about opening up to Feyre. She looked at you, her face asking for you to continue. “We’re trying all of the bakeries in Velaris to see who has the best pastries and hot chocolate, so once a week we try a new one and gorge ourselves on baked goods and chocolate.”

Feyre smiled at how absolutely adorable that was. “Are these… dates?” she asks, smiling at how absolutely oblivious the two of you were.

“We call them dates,” you reply.

“Do you two do anything physical? You don’t have to be gratuitous with details, I’m not Mor.” Feyre says, shuddering thinking of Mor grilling you for details on if the two of you have had sex yet.

“Um well the bakeries are usually cozy so we usually are tucked away in a corner, pressed up together. In one of them we had to wait for a table, so he just wrapped his wings around me while we waited.” You told her, grinning at the memory of his body heat.

“Do you two ever kiss?”

You sink a little further into the couch, your cheeks blazing with heat now, your hands covering your face as you say, “yes”.

“Has there been more than kissing?”

Feyre watches the head hiding behind youe hands nod ever so slightly and squeals. She actually squeals.

The people of Velaris love to gossip with her, and when she heard rumors of two of her friends being spotted around town looking very coupley, she decided to investigate. It also doesn’t help that the Inner Circle has a betting pool on when you ans Azriel will get together. Her bet was this week, so she’s doing what she can to win. And because she wants the two of you to be happy. And because Cassian bet that you two would be together next week, and she can’t lose to him, his gloating is atrocious.

“So, you two are together?” She asks, practically bouncing in her seat.

“I’m not sure,” you say, “honestly I’m a little worried that this means more to me than it does to him.” You look down at your hands, “I don’t really do casual dating, and I’m a little worried that this is just a fling to him. It’s really incredible and hot and sweet and all but.” You look around to see if anyone is listening before you whisper, “honestly, it would break my heart if this was just casual for him.”

Feyre was shocked at how sad you looked at the idea of being something casual to Az. She knew the two of you were head over heels for each other, they all knew that, but you looked devastated.

“Sweetie,” she says, trying her best to console you, “there is no way that that male views you or anything to do with you as ‘casual’.“

“Are you sure?” You ask, hesitation lacing your every word.

“Absolutely. He lights up whenever you’re around and I’ve never seen him miss a function you’re at.”

You thank your friend for the reassurances and settle back into your respective books. You knew that Azriel’s shadows often followed you around, even without him being anywhere nearby. He once told you that they find you adorable. However, you didn’t realize that the two who were stationed with you left very quickly after your discussion with Feyre.

The shadows relayed the whole story to him, in part because they, like the inner circle, want the two of you together. But also because they understand that you were upset and Azriel could fix it.

Azriel was more shocked at the insistence from them to make you less upset - usually they are just uninvolved observers, simply passing along information to him, allowing him to draw his own conclusions. The way those shadows spoke to him you’d think that they were in charge of him.

He met you outside of your apartment later that night, dressed in an all black casual outfit. “Ready?” He asks, extending his arm out for you to take. You lock the door behind him, straightening your coat before taking his arm.

The two of you start these dates off by walking through Velaris. Winter has just begun and there’s a light falling of snow covering the two of you.

“What’d you get up to today? I haven’t seen you since breakfast,” he asks you, not-so-subtly reminding you that you were, in fact, his breakfast, before he left your apartment this morning.

“I spent most of the day in the library with Feyre, reading a few books, doing some research. I had to get out of there, the words were all starting to blend together,” you reply, nuzzling into his arm to retain some of his heat, despite his jacket covering his arms.

“Mm, well then I guess you could consider me you’re handsome knight, off to whisk you away for an evening of delicacies in your time of need,” he retorts.

You chuckle and begin to speak, not stopping yourself before blurting, “why are you only like this with me? Don’t get me wrong, I love this side of you, but you only show it to me. Why’s that?”

Azriel stops your walk to stand in front of you, “ignoring your recent declaration of love,” you huff, “I just.. feel different around you.”

The look he’s giving you makes your knees go weak. He’s looking into your eyes with deep, raw honesty, like he wants you to see inside his soul.

“I love my family, despite their best efforts to annoy me into murdering them,” he says. You giggle. “But you’re.. different. The way I feel about you is different. I thought I loved Mor, but I didn’t. I loved the idea of saving her, of being her knight.” He sighs, unbelieving that he’s spilling all of this to you out in public. Luckily the other pedestrians just ignore the two of you, out of kindness or fear of him, he’s not sure. He pulls you into a quiet little alley, in the hopes to retain some privacy.

“It was stupid, but I thought I could save the girl and we’d live happily ever after. Then I met you. When I was a kid, I always wanted someone to come rescue me, and I thought that that was how you fall in love. But it’s not. I didn’t need to save you to love you. After this big revelation about myself, I took some time to really think about what I want. It’s why a few weeks back everyone thought I went to check on the war camps. Well, I did check on them, but I spent most of the time thinking. And I want you, no rescuing required. Though if you’d have me, I’d rescue you from anything. A bad day, my annoying family, the flu, anything. I’m not sure how clear my intentions have been, I figured showing you off around Velaris was enough, but I guess not.”

He paused, a mixture of nerves and intense determination radiating off of him.

“I haven’t thought about another person since I met you. I haven’t even considered looking at anyone else. Rhys has started calling me a puppy, because I follow you around everywhere, and I don’t care. I’ve never been so public with anyone, not giving a damn who sees or what they think, because I want them to know that you’re with me. I want everything you’ll give me.”

You’re stunned. It’s so quiet, you can hear the snow falling. It’s as if the world has gone silent to hear what you’ll say.

“Anything I’ll give you?” You say, a smirk crossing your face, wanting to draw out his confession a bit more.

“Anything.”

“Even if I snore?” You ask.

He laughs, “you don’t snore. You’re actually quite adorable when you’re asleep, hate to break it to you.”

“Hmm,” you say, stroking your finger on your chin, looking quizzical. “Guess you’ll just have to get used to my adorable sleeping, because if you’re accepting it, I’m giving you everything.”

He leans down, capturing your laugh with his lips, his shadows dancing around the two of you in excitement.

He pulls away after several minutes, laughing at the groan coming from your lips, “did you know that the idiots have a bet about us?”

He begins again after seeing your confused face, “If we’re together this week, Feyre wins the betting pool. Next week is Cassian.”

“Oh!” You exclaim, “that’s why she wanted us to be together so badly! Hm, maybe we should let Feyre win, because Cassian would be-

“Unbearable.” You both say in unison.

“When should we tell them? And how?” You ask.

“Not tonight. Maybe tomorrow we can just have sex on the dining room table, that’ll send the message loud and clear.” He says, raising his eyebrows suggestively.

You swat his arm, “no, we’re better than Cassian and Nesta. Maybe we should have a banner made. It’ll say “we had sex!” And point down to us.”

He chuckles, grabbing your arm again and steering you towards the bakery, as the two of you contemplate how to tell your family the news that will make them all so incredibly happy.

Dean wasn’t going to admit that it was awkward. Cas had been back for three days and he hadn’t been able to say anything. He didn’t know what to say, or how to say it, or if he could even find the words to make sense of what was going on in his head. Cas was patient, he didn’t ask for anything, didn’t bring up that day and Dean didn’t know if he was disappointed about it or relieved. 

He’d hugged Cas within an inch of his newfound life when the ritual had worked and the angel had appeared before him and Sam in the library. He may have cried but Sam wouldn’t know that and Cas knew well enough not to mention it, and why shouldn’t he cry? When a guy confesses his love to you and then dies you’re allowed to cry when he comes back. 

The problem with it all was that Dean didn’t actually know how he felt about Cas. He knew he cared about him, deeply, more than he’d ever cared about anyone except for Sam, but he also knew that he didn’t love Cas like he loved Sam. He said he did. Always calling Cas brother and friend, but there was something scratching at the surface of those words, something unspoken that Dean tried to suck the air from so it withered and died and he could leave it buried. 

But it was like that feeling thrived on being smothered,it was even more desperate the longer he let it simmer, suffocating under dirt and grit as worms tried to eat it, but it only grew stronger. A pull in his heart that yanked him by a chain, dragging him up and down a proverbial road, and he couldn’t shake it, couldn’t drown it, couldn’t burn it to the ground, it clung to him like a parasite, and he should admit it was a welcome one, but he couldn’t. Admitting it made it real and if it was real he could lose it. He’d already lost Cas, too many times, and each time was as unbearable as the last, as if he was the one suffocating, buried in his own grave with panic brawling in his chest as he tried to dig himself out. 

And he knew what that was like. The first time Cas had touched him had been to put him back in his grave and since then Dean had been gravitating towards him, wanting that touch to consume him. He’d often found himself staring at the handprint on his shoulder in the days following Cas’ sacrifice. It was a faint outline now, weathered by time. And terror had crashed into him as he realized this time Cas being gone might be for real, and this would be the first place Castiel, Angel of the Lord had touched him, as well as the last, and the remnants of that first time were all but a few bumps on pink flesh, and the shadow of the last time was fading fast in crusted blood on a jacket he couldn’t bear to throw away. 

Tears had poured hot and unsteady down his cheeks as he looked at the handprint he’d bore for the past twelve years. He didn’t have anyone left to pray to or believe in, but in that moment, staring at the reflection of what he had left of his best friend, the words came out of him, a wretched sob curled up in a plea; the sister of a prayer: “Don’t fade.” 

“Please don’t fade, don’t go, you can’t leave me,” Dean begged. “Not all of you, please, this is all I have left.” 

Don’t fade.

He had chanted over and over again, and yeah, okay, maybe Dean did know how he felt about Cas, and maybe that was why it was so awkward to be around him. What if Cas had changed his mind in the empty? What if he didn’t love him anymore? What if he didn’t know how? What if Dean didn’t know how to let someone in like that? What if an angel and human couldn’t even be together? Was there some kind of law against it? There probably should be. But Dean also didn’t want to care about all that because for once in his life he had a shot at something that would make him happy and shouldn’t he take it? Didn’t he deserve it? After everything he’d been through, everywhere his body had been dragged across the Earth by an Archangel, all the times his psyche had been toyed with, didn’t he deserve to let himself love? 

“Dean?” 

Dean looked up to see Cas in his doorway and he realized he was sitting with his hand cradling his shoulder, the shoulder that was home to Cas’ burning touch. “Oh, uh, hey,” he said awkwardly, shifting on the bed. 

“Are you alright?” 

“Yeah, ‘course,” Dean replied, forcing a smile. 

Cas sighed, long suffering and sad. “Please don’t lie to me.” 

“Cas-” 

“No, Dean, if this is about what I said to you before I-” 

“Before you died?” Dean finished for him, standing up so he could confront the angel. “Yeah, you know what, Cas, it is about what you said. How could you say that to me?” 

“I didn’t think I would see you again,” Cas said quietly, barely managing to look at Dean. 

Dean turned away from him, anger burning suddenly in his veins. “Is that supposed to make it better? What, you don’t think I can handle you being in love with me, so you leave it to a deathbed confession so you don’t have to find out!?” 

“I knew you didn’t feel the same way,” Cas replied defensively. “I didn’t see any point in bringing it up to you sooner.” 

Dean couldn’t believe what he was hearing. “Wait, so you just decided for me how I felt?” The confusion on Cas’ face only spurred Dean on. “You’re an idiot,” he snapped. “You don’t even know- God, Cas, you drive me fucking insane!” 

“I don’t understand,” Cas said, tilting his head to survey Dean. 

“How I feel about you,” Dean began, trying to reign himself in, “Cas, man, there aren’t words.” He shrugged off his flannel and pushed up the sleeve of his shirt to reveal the handprint, “You gave me this, before we even properly met, and it’s all I had of you, every single time I lost you, it was the only thing I had left, and every day it gets harder and harder to see and you have no idea how much that hurts me. Because it’s like watching you fade away as if you never existed, as if we never had anything between us. And when you were gone I tried to remember what you sounded like, what it felt like when you healed me, how my name sounded when you said it, and I prayed for you back. I wanted it so badly I was dizzy with it. And now you’re here, and you dare to tell me you don’t think I love you back?”

Cas was staring at him, shock emanating from his very being. “I never thought- Dean, I don’t know what to say.” 

“I have a lot of issues, which you know,” Dean said as he drew closer to Cas, “and one of those issues is not being very good at saying how I feel, or letting myself want things, but I want you, Cas. I don’t know when it started but I do, and I don’t know who I am without that want.” Cas was close now, his eyes blown wide in surprise and lust. “Touch me,” Dean begged, his lips mere inches from Cas’, “touch me like it’s the first time.” 

Cas surged forward, one hand coming up to cup Dean’s cheek and the other to land on his shoulder. Fire surged through the contact and Dean felt the burn of Cas’ hand imprinting on his skin, refreshing a mark that had come to be Dean’s greatest companion, and the kiss that followed was a promise shaped in the hot brand of tongues sliding against tongues and prayers finally being answered.

I may write this in two parts? Or just leave it as it is? Idk yet.

It had been just over a year that you had become a STAY. And you had loved every new things about Stray Kids. To their smiles, their handsome looks, learning their names and who was the oldest to the youngest, and watching all their music videos. You tried to catch up from their pre-debut but there was so much content to watch that you had to put a pause on the watching and mainly focused on the new.

You also changed your twitter into a fan account, sharing, reposting and posting about how hot or cute the members were. You found their music healing, in a way because a year ago, you weren't in the right state of mind. You were mentally exhausted by life giving you shit, so much that you were actually thinking about ending it all. Even your life.

Last year in April, you were crying one sunday early morning and decided to browse youtube because that's what you did when nothing else worked. You were going down the live broadcast list when someone caught your eye. 'Chan's room ep. 208.' A young man sitting on a chair with a black couch in the back, looking very handsome as he talked to, what seemed like were his fans. You immediately picked on the language he was speaking because of the amount of korean dramas you had watched.

You snuggled back into your blanket, his eords of encouragement soothed your heart as you watched him through your laptop screen. Your eyes lit up as you heard him talk in english. And was that an Australian accent? You watched him talk about the next comeback him and his group will have, sometime in June. You were curious to find more about the group and luckily one of the comments displayed 'Stray Kids.'

You picked up your phone and searched for the name. Immediately, a group of 8 men popped up as one by one you searched each of their names to know who was who. And for some reason you went from youngest to oldest without realizing. So when you typed Bang Chan in the search bar, the same man popped up from the youtube livestream. "It's him," you said, flicking your eyes on the laptop screen just as he smiled and laughed. Your heart skipped a beat and it has never done that.

And then you watch as he stands up, saying 'big hug' hugging the screen. It tugged at your heart as he sits back down. "Bye stays, baby stays, see you next time!" He holds up a peace sign by his eye, does a winky face and clicks his tongue before the livestreams ends.

Fresh tears flow down your cheeks as a sob escapes your lips. That hug felt warm to you and yet distant which the thought of it now had you bawling your eyes out. You search up Stray Kids on youtube and start watching a bunch of videos.

An hour later, you were clutching your stomach from laughing so hard. How did you ever go about your day without knowing these boys? You even watched their music videos which blew your mind at each one. You went on your twitter and searched up the bame and a bunch of posts about their upcoming comeback and where to buy the albums.

Your eyelids fell heavy and soon darkness enveloped your mind. This time no nightmares occurred, except a certain black haired man with dimples.

There had been a rumour going around that for their second comeback for 2023, they were going to be doing a contest for a lucky STAY (while others did fancalls). The only requirements was how many alvums or merch or how much your spent money on Stray Kids. But you had done neither which put you in a tough spot.

You had very badly wanted to participate but you were a 23 yr old trying to save up for a solo trip to South Korea. Maybe even scout areas for a permanent move. So far you had saved up about $2500 as was planning to save up more. As for the contest, you had put your phone number down in the category of being picked randomly in case you got a call.

You were on your lunch break at work when your phone rang. Putting your sandwich down, you glance at the screen as it showed up a number you didn't recognize. "Hello?"

"Hello, is this Y/N?" A female voice asked.

"Yes, who's this?"

"This is Yu Won from JYPE."

You blinked. "Sorry?"

"You put your phone number to get licked randomly for a fancall and for the contest?"

"Oh my g...yeah, did I get picked?!" Excitement filled your veins.

"Yes. We would like to invite you for a fancall with one of the Stray Kids members and at the end of the call, you will be asked which option you prefer to do."

"Okay! Thank you!" You smile.

She gave you instructions over the phone plus sent you an email too. The fancall would happen after the comeback in november. It was end of October so maybe you didn't have to wait long.

You sat waiting patiently in front of your pgone, hair in loose waves and light makeup. Your dog whined at your feet. "Nora, not right now, okay? I'll take you out later." Your dog, a golden retriever, laid down beside your feet. You rollded your eyes. "Okay, drama queen. Come on," you tapped your lap and she excitedly jumped in lap.

You look up and see Chan beaming, a smile on his lips. Your eye widen. "Oh! I'm sorry! I didn't realize-"

"It's quite alright. I just came on and you were talking to your dog, I didn't want to disturb."

"Sorry, she gets anxious if I'm doing something that doesn't involve her," you nervously explain. You notice his hair was turning into a copper color.

He laughs. "It's quite alright. My dog is the same."

"I've seen Berry from your vlogs and she seems such a nice and obedient dog. Very cute."

"That she is."

"Just like her dad," you giggle.

He covers his mouth, giggling also. "Thank you for the compliment."

"Congrats on the comeback! I love all of your songs!"

"Thanks! Which was your favorite?" He asked, genuinely curious to know.

"Hmmm, if I had to pick, I nwould say all of them but if I had to choose, it would have to be Cover Me."

"Why that song?"

"The melody is quite soothing. Plus the vocals are top tier," you replied.

"Yeah? I think my vocals could use more work."

You gape at him. "Are you kidding? Your vocals are very exciting to hear! Those high notes aren't easy to do."

He chuckles. "Alright. I'll take your word for it, Y/N.'

Y/N. He said your name. It was like hearing it for the first time. Your heart tugged again and you mentally scolded your brain to shut up. "Ever been to Korea?"

"No. But I'm planning to save up for a solo trip!"

"Solo? Oof. That's going to be difficult especially if you don't know the language."

You smirk. "Dangsin-eun naega ihaehaji moshandago saeng-gaghanayo? (You thibk I don't understand?)."

"Oh, wow. Neohante yeogijeogi boyeojugo sip-eo (I would love to show you around)."

"That would be lovely but it's not happening anytime soon."

He nods and you suddenly feel bad. "Maybe next year I'll see."

You say your goodbyes and end the call and go into your email. You pick the "buy a plushie" option and choose wolf-chan. Smiling widely, heart content to the max you finally smile to yourself. Maybe life wasn't bad after all

Your phone pings so without looking for you unlock and you scream briefly upon seeing the screen.

XX-XXXX-XXXXXX: hey this is bang chan. I stole your number from my manager

Y/N: did you just commit a crime?

You save his number as Chris.

BC: i would never

Y/N: uh huh...

BC: hey give me a break here :(

Y/N: are you....being cute?

BC: is it working?

hot take babes: my thoughts whenever someone says i’m crazy for shipping destiel.

the simple possibility of nephilim tells us that angels can fall in love/have sexual interest in humans. (just like ishim felt something ((obsession)) for lily and lucifer felt something ((sexual desire)) for kelly). so if you say it’s impossible for cas to feel something for dean other than platonic love, the only reason is that you’re homophobic. “oh, but angels can’t be gay” but chuck, who’s literally GOD, can??!?! this goes into another whole area of “we can make the villain gay, but not our precious little dude who all the hetero fellas love so much”. and i’m not even gonna touch the amara subject (who was god’s sister and was supposed to be a being of extreme force and bigger than creation and she still felt something for dean and it wasn’t written by chuck, ‘cause dean is that guy apparently. so an angel can feel something just like amara did ((but shit was weird af)) ).

This fic is equal parts hilarious and touching. A ride of meta delight.

But a chance meeting with a cute boy turns his life and the narrative upside down. As they grow closer, Cas finds himself questioning everything he thought he knew about himself.

This fic ties in canon in such a fun way as Cas works through the plot. It also features a deeply repressed “straight” Cas who is struggling in a way that will make you want to shake and hug him at the same time. 

Theres a lot of humor, but underneath is a really beautiful story about the stories we tell. It's a gorgeous journey that will leave you emotional.

Listen. I'm a burnt out lawyer. So on the very rare occasion I will read a lawyer fic, it's about burnt out lawyers and this one certainly hits that part of my brain. 

Dean is miserable in his job as a corporate defense attorney, and his current case where he has to defend a soulless pharmaceutical company isn't helping. Desperate to get away for a few hours, he finds a cute guy in a bar for a mind-melting night of sex. It would be a total win, except the same guy walks into the courtroom the next day. He's the judge. Can Dean and Cas forget their wild night of passion, or will they risk everything to recapture the magic? 

The desperate, needy, immediately profound bond between Dean and Cas is what makes this fic. Truly, they are two magnets pulled together. Also, there are some beautiful themes about leaving the past - and parental expectations -behind.

Dad's on a hunting trip and he hasn’t been home in awhile. Dean considers trying to get his brother Sammy to help, but he seems so happy. 

So he decides to buy a haunted house and settle down. He'll clear out this ghost (some lady named Naomi) and the place will be all his.

Except it turns out the ghost isn't a lady, but a hot dude named Cas. A lonely phantom and a lonely human finding comfort and companionship together. 

This fic does have a happy ending, so don't worry! The fic has a nice mystery as Dean and Cas work to try to understand what happened to him, but it's the softness of these two together that really stands out.

Theres something so beautiful about these two guys, both alone for so long, finding joy in each other.

Speaking of ghosts, this one features a soft tropey love story with a really fun setting and a meddling ghost (Jo) who ships it.

When Cas inherits a ghost town from his eccentric uncle, he isn't sure what to think, but he decides he wants to check it out. Unfortunately for Cas, what he doesn't check out is the weather.

Luckily, the grumpy town caretaker, Dean Winchester, is there to save him. Unluckily, they have to wait out the snow storm in the abandoned ghost town.

There's only one bed and they're snowed in. throw in a surprise mystery treasure hunt and a bored ghost and you have yourself a fun, soft story.

I'll Follow You Into the Dark by FriendofCarlotta @friendofcarlotta (Explicit, 15k)

This one hurts so good. A fix-it (but Dean lived because fuck that), this fic explores Dean’s grief and desperation to get Cas back. 

When he realizes the price of admission into the Empty is being an angel or a demon, Dean takes extreme steps to save his angel. But will Dean lose himself in the process?

It's a beautiful story of love and sacrifice with a soft landing. Even if it ruins a certain item from Ikea for you.

The Princess Bride by foxymoley @foxymoley (Teen, 20k) 

Like peanut butter and chocolate, the marriage of The Princess Bride and Supernatural is a combination that works.

Its a retelling of the movie featuring all your favorite lines. There's humor! There's true love! There are pirates! 

Some of the details are changed obviously (Dred Pirate Cas and Inigo Montoya Dean, for example, are the main love interests), but it works really well and I found myself grinning like a fool the entire time I read this.

New rec: Choices book I actively avoided for years because the cover art gives "supernatural love triangle between the 'nice guy' & the 'bad boy'" and it's a trope I despise except turns out I'm an idiot because holy shit this was one of my favourite books

For one, the vampire lore is unique? Or at least uncommon enough that it feels like something new. It's even different from Choices' other vampire series

Second? Both LIs are wrong about their view on vampires and actually have to come to terms with this and learn to change and grow throughout the series. If anything, MC's the only one who's got it right. Both LIs have their own flaws & trauma while still being interesting and likeable characters and neither one is pushed above the other as being "the correct choice".

It also doesn't make the "bad boy" so antagonistic towards MC and the "nice guy" so sweet that it makes no sense for MC to pick the bad boy (*cough*choices' save the date*cough* my favourite is the antagonistic LI but also he's so hot & cold towards MC and a jerk to her for no real reason???). MC clicks with both of them in a different way and there's enough reason for MC to choose either one of them. It actually shows why MC needs both of them

Also, MC is initially built up in a way before they interact with the LIs so that all of their decisions throughout the story actually make sense. They're responsible but also insanely competitive. Despite staying in line presumably throughout their life, they're drawn towards anything that'll give them a shot of adrenaline

Plus all three characters get their time to shine and MC's a fucking badass, honestly they're up there with om's MC as being one of the more interesting & fun to play MCs

And MY favourite, absolute favorite thing about this, the main thing that shot this up to one of my favourite choices stories:

MC makes a Buffy reference in this. That means at one point they watched and/or read Buffy and/or Angel, saw her get together with first the tortured ""good guy"" and then later the rebellious ""bad boy"", saw all the love triangle discourse in the fandom and said well that's fucking stupid, watch me introduce them both to the concept of polyamory that's right it's NOT a fucking love triangle

or it can be if you want it to, like you can choose one of the two LIs but the "true" route, the one where you get a charm each from both LIs and complete MC's charm bracelet (usually the indicator of a fully completed story in any choices book is to complete a set of something) is the one where MC picks both of them

There are also frequent instances where the choices are [no romantic option at all] and [romantic option for both LIs eg: holding both their hands]

And yeah the LIs aren't in love with each other and spend a lot of time competing for MC, something they do right until the very end of the book BUT at about the midway point they become a proper team and start talking about the three of them as an inseparable team making it very clear that if this doesn't end with MC choosing both of them it's gonna turn into a me and you and your friend steve situation.

And then when either one of them talks about how much they care about MC they start using "we" and "our" [eg: "that's our girl/boy" when the two LIs are alone together]

And then they start being as protective of each other as they are of MC

Cas screaming "don't touch him" when Gabriel gets attacked + Gabriel throwing himself over and shielding both MC & Cas when they get attacked

I'm not saying they're in love or that they'll ever fall in love but they are much much more okay with sharing a partner with each other than either one is willing to admit

Objectively Miles and Jason are the best dynamic you can get out of superhero crossovers.They're written in ways that would fundamentally make them like eachother on first meeting because of their countless similarities yet significant differences and make for a really deep,equally beneficial and even realistic as much as you can be with superheroes dimensional hoping relathionship(and unlike a lot of certain other Jason hc relathionships,it's based of Miles as a person instead of black hair and blue eyes and superpower fantasies)

So Jason while not the nicest person has no reason to beef with Miles like he does often with others and that makes him give Miles a chance to get to know him and he'd have zero regrets because of what a chaotic little shit yet absolute sweetheart he is and he'd see his Robin self in him too-'You're like me....The me that died'.And Miles has so much banter game and nonchalantness to lack of manners(gracias por la confirmation Gwendita /lh)he'd get along with Jason easily and find his goth boyloser attitude funny and enjoyable to be around.They also have complimentary interests,Miles is an anime nerd and an artist and Jason is a classical literature nerd who's implied to keep secret journals that're written poetically and they have the uniting factors of being gamers and loving fast food so they can combine them and share their hobbies as bonding including parallel play and going to New York arcades and Batburger together and obviously Miles gets Jason to do graffiti with him and Jason convinces Miles to read his favorite books and they get real silly with all of it

There's also the obvious factor of Jason being afro-dominican('THAT'S NOT CA-'Shhhhh,i know you're one of those headass niggas who thinks Jason is a horndog with nothing but edge and that he actually likes Roy and 'Kori' but are a Jayrose and Jaytemis anti and i bet you think Slade is hot too,your Jason opinions are about as canon as that scene we shan't speak of even Grant Morrison regretted and said was ooc but that you still joke about cause you're racist)so like how Miles being afro-puerto rican made it so he has no problem befriending people of all ages thanks to the strong sense of community that's normalized in latino cultures,them being an intergenerational friendship came naturally.Jason wasn't always perfect due to lack of experience with kids but he didn't do damage and it was pretty much just him being a dumbass and Miles fumbled a bit too because a 19 year old is different from a 16 year old,a 14 year old and his mentor in his 30s he's also buds with but it was all gags and they're almost mentally linked.Jason has shoulder length dreads and Miles decided to get them too after he gained a supernatural white streak like him(spoilers!!!)so they could match and uses the fact Jason sobbed a lil over it as blackmail because he recorded it

Jason is 'Big Guy' and Miles is 'Little Man'.They're absolute MONSTERS on the battleground together and a terrifying ass proffessional instigators amature investigators duo.Jason turned Miles into a black death metal fan and Miles' tricked Jason into letting him try out makeup looks on him so he'd be trial run instead of Miles making himself look like a pretty clown.They're Animal Crossing partners(visiting eachother's villages and all that other good stuff).Miles is an 'Us!!!' type of guygirl and Jason loves it,he's like 'Yeah dude we are those two decorated cookies,you're so right'.Miles found a crazy ass Shakespearen item on a mission and gifted it to Jason and Jason bought Miles a replacement collectible.Jason uses Miles' head as an arm rest and Miles is the exception to the 'Don't touch the battle jacket' rule.Miles hates Bruce on the basis he contributed Jason's trauma AND is a rich white dude and Jason would want Jefferson and Rio as his parents if he didn't already have Talia

And obviously we need to adress the Spiderbatelephant in the room that Jason,y'know,dosen't follow the no kill rule and did some pretty bad shit in Utrh.I'll be honest,i'm not all that interested in doing a deep look into it because it's fictional superheroes but Miles is unaware of it for a long while and at first Jason just didn't feel like telling him the full details but as that while passed,Miles naturally influenced him into becoming good again with no effort and he came pretty close to killing too a few times because Jason influenced him back into chanelling his rage instead of surpressing it to be The Nice GuyTM(including giving him the guts to stand up to his bullies to the point they're scared of Miles)and that led to a moral crisis for Miles and time apart but it dosen't last that long because this is comics babie and also to me they're too edgy to be pg but still somehow is siblings protagonists-coded.Miles G showing up also fucks with Miles' head in this context and Jason ain't getting off easy either when Arkham Knight drops in the ruin things a lil more.Meows Morales and Pawson Todd(who's not a cat but a werewolf)and Lego Miles and Lego Jason and at least 5 other respective variants brighten things up though

William - Not my type, but I don't dislike him. He's so self-giving, and kind and very polite........and I'm a girl who likes jerks. Sometimes he can be crazy for example, in his birthday story, I was spoiled that one time, on his birthday, he asked his victim to sing him 'Happy Birthday' before killing him. I mean that's brutal but badass at the same time! When he's with Kate, so far, he's very kind, and asks her to be more open and more selfish with her desires and it's just all fine. It didn't make me go 'Awww, that's so cute!!!' or anything. It's just fine. His route is a little drag though, I won't lie.

Liam - Okay. I didn't like Liam at first. I thought his looks and his profile sounded boring (except for him being a stage actor, I LOVE IT WHEN MALE LEADS HAVE DIFFERENT JOBS!) I was scared that they were going to make him overly flirtatious....but I'm glad that he isn't. He's so cute! OH MY GOD, HE'S SO CUTE!!! His route looks fucked-up and also according to @archiveikemen she told that the story isn't an 'I can fix him' story, which I really appreciate btw! His route does have some cute moments like him acting in front of Kate to cheer her up and jumping off of roofs while carrying her in his arms...those are all so cute, and I love it!! His personality is very innocent and childlike and other members are worried about him because they don't want him to get hurt because of his curse. I love him now, he went from being my least fav character to one of my favs!!

Harry - Ofc, I love him. I find him cute! I find his lies also very cute. He's like 'I and Liam are not buddies.' and the same Harry is worried about Liam getting hurt. I love their dynamic too. Other than this I don't know too much about him because I haven't even started his route. But I love him and I find him interesting. Also his route. just from its preview looked cute and less dark, I guess? So I'm curious. And given that he's a Sherlock Holmes fan, I wouldn't be surprised if later Cybird releases a card of him and Arthur together.

Elbert - I think this guy is an idiot! lol. A funny idiot. He wants to lock Kate in his room because he thinks she's the one he is looking for...man that's so creepy and hilarious at the same time. Outside that, I think he, like William, is a kind and polite character. But I like him more than William because I feel like Elbert could be a yandere....maybe I'll be proven wrong. But he seems like he could be a Yandere character. Also, I find his ability really interesting. The other male leads have abilities that are very good for their 'Crown-related' jobs, so I'm curious how they use Elbert's ability in desperate circumstances. You can use his ability on your enemies if you want to mentally torture them.

Alphonse - For me personally, I don't care about him. I don't hate or like him. I don't even find him......interesting. He looks to be like he's hiding something and is into shady businesses and I feel like I have seen so many characters like him. I can't give any examples, it's just I 'feel' like I have seen characters like him before. He looks to be the spy of this game, but who knows? One thing I really find interesting is his ability is really fucked-up if you think about it. You can use that to literally manipulate people into showing them what YOU want to see. That can actually mess up people's minds in reality. But as a character, he's a hit or a miss for me. Let's wait of his main route.

Roger - His profile says he is egoistic but I don't find him that egoistic. When you read his bond stories, I find him really caring towards, Kate and other members of the Crown. Even when he says he uses Liam as his test subject for his 'human experiments', it doesn't seem like he's tormenting him or anything. I don't know, prove me wrong. I like him though.

Ellis - Yep! He's hot, caring, kind, funny and creepy. Yes! I find him a little creepy but I love that creepiness. His ability actually involves restraining people...................why do I feel like we might be getting 'bondage' scenes in his route? He has this certain smile that looks like he wants to tie me up at this moment and I like that smile. Towards, Kate and the others, he is very kind. All he wants is for everyone to be happy and if he finds anyone unhappy, then he will do anything to make them happy. This can be mess-up too, like in the prologue he offers to kill Kate because she looks unhappy to him. This same guy is also like 'I'll make sure you will be happy while you live with us.' Look I love creepy guys okay. I find them genuinely funny most of the times. I also love his dynamic with Jude. These two are so hilarious together. Hands down the best pair in this game! For example this one scene in William's route:

Victor: "Ellis, do you want to go on a mission with them?"

Jude: "There he goes again, using my men without my permission."

Ellis (Sad puppy dog eyes): "I don't mind, but....."

Jude: "But what?"

Ellis (Sad puppy dog eyes): "If I go, and at that time, if Jude encountered the happiest moment of his life. Then I wouldn't be able to see it."

Jude (Angry): "Tch. You, creepy bastard! I hope you go there and die."

Victor - I love Victor. He's my second fav character! I love his lively, chirpy and loud personality. It's cute. He's like a real dad! Reminds me of my own dad. Maybe that's why I like him! He's like the comic-relief character of this game. A funny guy and I like that. It's better than a cold, brooding, unapproachable character that looks cool at first but becomes boring later on. He cares for the Crown members, and also looks after them, making sure all their wishes are fulfilled. Even Kate. He makes sure that as long as she lives with the Crown, she's happy and safe. Still, I don't know much about him, but so far, I really really enjoy him whenever I interact with him.

Now, Jude - I FUCKIN LOVE THIS MAN AND THIS LOVE IS OVERFLOWING RIGHT NOW!!! I can't contain it! I love this motherfucker! He's ruthless, arrogant, swears, bullies, delinquent, kind, caring, cute, and ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL!!!! Just look at his smile man! It's so angelic compared to his arrogant personality. I wanna kiss this man on the lips every time I see him being kind to Kate! I wanna call him a jerk every time he bullies Kate! God! I even want to keep him to myself and never give him to anyone when he's being so FUCKIN CUTE!!! The more I learn about him, the more I love him! He's so lovely! What are their hobbies?

Orth is very much like the humans on Earth really, they spent a long time peering at the stars and the planets and wondering what life looks like there. They had a soft spot for Earth for a while, watching it’s little civilizations grow, empires rise and fall until it reached it’s present day state.

Curiosity and lonilness being the biggest factors for why it tried to squeeze itself down to a smaller scale in the first place. Like a gentle giant that is the last of it’s kind. No other creature is like it, and they have drifted through the universe being not only alone but too grand to even be comprehend by smaller beings.

I think Orth tried to communicate before to other races but… it didn’t go so well, unfortunately.

Orth now though, gosh, they are so spoiled. They have someone they can talk to all the time. (And probably do wake their hooman up at night with questions) They can kind of indulge in human pasttimes, reading over their buddies shoulder.

They quite enjoy books and television. They enjoy listening to stories and soaking up as much information as they can.

What are their hobbies?

Cas does enjoy listening to / reading those ultra sappy alien x human romances 👁️👁️✨ okay so he did pick on the protag. for enjoying those but then he also got hooked when he was sneaking onto their account so— you know, he still pokes fun at them though PSH!

Cas, is one of those bots who is severly smart and is very much a jack of all trades! He knows coding, he enjoys languages, (and really REALLY enjoys abusing this knowledge for his own amusment) Cas also has a lot of mechanical knowledge, he tinkers with his own self and weapons on occasation, can fix star cruisers, (and has hot wired a good few of them.)

He also likes learning as much as he can, except with Orth’s case it is a lot more curiousity. Cas is curious yes, but he makes good use of what he learns and pulls it into practice as soon as he gets a handle on a new skill. He enjoys puzzles and enjoys finding new and innovative solutions to tackle problems.

Cas’ brain doesn’t sit still very well either, if he doesn’t find something to keep it entertained well… hijacking some top tier security system will be on his list of fun puzzles to defragment. XDDD

Rewatching Death Takes a Holiday

Welcome to “All This Ep Needs Is Cas and a Pottery Wheel: A Supernatural Rewatch Blog” with Lor and Mace!

Up today, s4e15: Death Takes a Holiday

Bobby alerts the boys to a town where no one has died for weeks—even those who definitely should have, like a man who was shot point-blank in the chest. Upon investigation, they find the last person to die in the town, a teenager named Cole, who reports that when he died a Reaper appeared but was then taken away by black smoke. With help from Pam, Sam and Dean enter the spirit world, where they discover that Alastair is kidnapping reapers because killing Reapers is one of the seals. They are able to stop Alastair from breaking the seal, but Pam is killed by a demon before they can help her. After the boys stop Alaister, he confronts Dean alone and tells Dean that he cannot escape him. Castiel appears, zapping Alastair away, and congratulates Dean on stopping the seal from breaking before revealing that it was not Bobby who called them about the town, but him. Dean askes Cas why they can’t make more exceptions about who has to die—after all, Cas saved him from hell. Dean is unimpressed by Cas’s answer that Dean is different.

What would Priya x Noah relationship headcanons be like?

Interesting, anon, as I think they both like the *idea* of dating each other more than anything. Still, I'll give some headcanons a go for you!

Noah x Priya Relationship Headcanons

Lets say MC wasn't involved, and that operation Nope was all Priya. I still think Noah would go back to Hope and all that nonsense after CA, but what about after the show? Noah and Priya will both be single again not long after, so what then?

I can see Priya reaching out to Noah once him and Hope are done, asking if he wants to meet up, maybe talk about things. Noah would of course agree, happy to meet up with a friend.

Still, maybe they share a few drinks, and then Priya brings up how she tried to get with him because he's so hot etc. Noah would of course be flattered, maybe a bit brave as he's had something to drink. Priya invites him to hers and, well... 😏

Noah gets very attached after sex, so I think once they've slept together he'll want to see her again, hoping it'll lead somewhere. Priya will probably be a bit overwhelmed, but it's Noah and she knows him, so why not give it a go?

I feel like most parents would adore Noah, and Priya's family is no exception. They adore him, which makes Priya feel such relief as I think she generally struggles with introducing guys to her parents.

Noah's mum and siblings also like Priya of course, although his mum worries since she knows Noah wants kids and Priya seems similar to Hope in that regard (as in no kids, or at least no kids in a while).

Still, I think they can last for a while, Noah being younger than her meaning he's not in a rush to settle *yet*. I think they might even try moving in together, but knowing they'll have to talk about their future goals means there's always tension there.

They also have a few fundamental differences when it comes to what they value most in life, and general views of the world, which will lead to arguments.

After a fight one night, I think they'll both realise that they're defeated and sit down to finally talk. The talk ends with them agreeing to break up. It feels inevitable, but I think they'll manage to be friends once they're over the hurt.

So my absolute favourite Crowley episodes are in order from earliest to latest are ...

Wait before I get there the problem is all of them except the episodes were Crowley gets bullied or worse are my favourites. That's a lot of episodes because the bullying of Crowley, rather than just general rivalry and enemy stuff didn't happen until season 10. So I decided to change it to only the favourites where I can actually explain why beyond "I just love it just because uh yeah it's amazing"

Abandon All Hope

Okay so this is the episode where we see a demon trolling a homophobe and as one of those woke millenials it felt like Crowley was the kind of person that would have a blog on Tumblr and give entertaining rants about the unfair state of LGBTQphobias and racism in the world

The Devil You Know

Okay so this is central to understanding pre human blood Crowley's character. You cannot write accurate and informed metas of prehuman Crowley without having knowledge of this episode in your subconscious influencing you

It is basically a character study. It tells you that he is brilliant as he persuaded someone who didn't fear Crowley or the Winchesters torture or death into telling them where Pestilence is. He got Bobby who is clearly intelligent into giving up his soul

He is dramatic and funny. "They ate my tailor!"

He is quick to anger and doesn't have much patience. "Shut up the both of you!"

He is willing for his allies to get hurt to achieve his their goals. "That's what you get working with a demon."

He is flirty. "Lovers in league against Satan."

He shows more emotional range than most demons we've seen. "So come with me. Please." However his ability to feel the full range of emotions from anger to fear even before the human blood is unfortunately a big weakness of his, because he doesn't think of all the ways things can go wrong when he is feeling strong emotions as he acts impulsively, and therefore doesn't think of contigency plans for them. When he's calm he's brilliant

See most people think Crowley is smug and arrogant and he can be those things. But often he isn't and it's just a cover up for his worry

He is badass. He fought and won against an entire hive of demons single handedly before he became the ruler of fallen humanity

It is also his character centric episode

He also shrugs off being shot with a salt bullet

Two Minutes to Midnight

Telling the boys that Bobby used tongue is a well known, hilarious and iconic moment. To be fair to Bobby he might have thought he needed to use tongue for the deal to work

This is the episode where Cas' first line to him wasn't something something abomination but a surprised "how did you get that?" the first active impression that Cas has of Crowley is curiosity on his ability to gain things that should be difficult to get. That meant Cas never underestimated Crowley even in later seasons when the boys stopped being scared of him because Cas' first impression is that Crowley is very able to achieve what should be very difficult or near impossible

Weekend at Bobby's

Crowstiel is my favourite ship but the chemistry rivalry between Crowley and Bobby Singer is undeniable. It was also kind of hot. "You come to daddy." Them both mocking each other's accents was hilarious

The Man Who Would Be King

His support for Cas and the fact that he made Hell unique from the other Hells we've seen. This is also the episode where we see just how much respect that Crowley has for Cas. He genuinely believes that Cas is able to lead an army and win the war. He respects Cas in every way and even when Cas was in his honey era stage he believed in Cas to help beat Dick. How do we know he wasn't just saying that? 1. Why would Crowley team up with someone incapable? 2. We see evidence both before and after that episode of Cas' intelligence and badassery 3. Iirc and maybe I'm wrong Crowley has never called Cas a moron. Something he has no qualms using on even people he thinks of as friends post human blood like Dean for example

Season Seven, Time for a Wedding!

This is Crowley at his most fearsome and respected. Dean fears him "oh, crap". His demons fear him "oh, crap" and his unexpected speech about wall street and integrity from a demon was ironically funny

There Will Be Blood

This is the episode where Crowley is one of the most crucial characters of the season. They need HIS blood [ along with Cas and the alpha vamps ] to save the world

Crowley and Cas deserve to be important

Survival of the Fittest

He wins that episode. He gets Kevin. Cas and Dean get trapped in Purgatory and if Dean was a random side character rather than necessary to the plot there wouldn't have been a way out for him

He also doesn't get bitchy when Cas said not in so many words "no thank you" to helping with Dick Roman

The Great Escapist

Crowley sees Cas and his eyes light up. That is good acting to make even your irisises gleam. The look was very affectionate. It wasn't a smug yes I have Cas now! Angel tablet let's go! It was a soft adoring look

It was also nice for Crowley to have a win. It also shows just how good his logical thinking is and how he can draw the right conclusions from the information available to him. Plus his devil bullet idea was a creative solution to not having to get within an angel's smiting range

Clip Show

He called the Winchesters out for their collateral damage and they needed to be called out tbh. That was so satisfying. This episode is also a reminder to us that he isn't just funny dramatic Crowley as he is also "the ruler of fallen humanity" and Crowley shows that dark side of himself

Devil May Care

He had been tortured with a sledgehammer and he behaved like his nails had been painted. Badass. What a king 💅

Road Trip

There is evidence suggesting Crowley wasn't trying his best to hack Gadreel in order to force Dean into a deal where he gets to possess Sam and therefore go free

The evidence is that he doesn't do as much twisting with Gadreel as he does with Alfie. The evidence is that the pins Crowley is using to hack Gadreel vs Alphie are on opposite temples

Absolutely magnificent bastard

King of the Damned

Watching Crowley be soft hearted for Gavin was so rewarding from Weekend at Bobby's

The Foundry

The episode you point people to when they ask why do you ship Crowstiel as a friendship or a romanceship?

They play off each other well humour wise. And rather than rolling his eyes or looking disappointed in Cas for the Beyonce name like Dean would Crowley decides to join in on the joke

Crowley finds Cas fun whereas Dean can find Cas annoying

"I agree with agent Zappa." This is where Cas engages with Crowley like they really are partners and was the beginning potential of a friendship
