doylist explanation for why Gidel is only in Fellow's non-idle lesson animations: probably something about space constraints and making sure two sprites in one seat aren't covering anyone else when they're not in focus
watsonian explanation for why Gidel is only in Fellow's non-idle lesson animations: he snuck in and is hiding from the teachers, don't give him away 🤫
(I've reached my limit of unsuccessful attempts at pulling them before I need to save keys for Halloween, so I've been living vicariously through youtube videos...but the fact that Gidel just pops up from under the desk to wave his arms around happily is really testing my resolve. D: I'm gonna die when they finally get to do alchemy...)
I hope you take this as the compliment it is intended to be, but you strike the same chord of irreverence-as-love, jokes-to-showcase-sencerity that I get from Chuck Tingle, and I adore both of you.

In case anyone else non-Black is wondering about one way to approach conflicts (how *I* do it, everyone's not the same!) about antiblackness in your fandoms/space, here's the advice I gave in my last ask about cruel racists:
Here's the thing that I've learned, and it may help you. It'll hurt, but... It's the truth.
Many people enjoy being racist.
They won't call it that! But the things they enjoy (and don't) are affected by said racism, and acknowledging that would mean either sacrificing their enjoyment or accepting that they are a racist (which looks bad!) So they just deny it completely. So tbh, you'll never be able to convince many of those kinds of people to stop, bc the battle is usually far deeper than actual ignorance.
I would encourage you to walk into these battles not with the goal to convince anybody- you'll leave disappointed and disheartened more often than not- but with the goal of pointing it out and shattering that "ignorance". If they didn't know, they know now. If they know now, and double down, they're consciously choosing racism, whether they want to admit it or not. The Black people around you will see your solidarity, and there might even be others you don't even see that learn from the interaction (and then they won't act like that 🤣). That's how I go about it, anyway, and it's saved me a lot of peace.
Tubbo's grown so much as a DJ these past few weeks, but I gotta say, every time he drops Spanish or Brazilian music into the mix, I lose my damn MIND, this goes so hard 💿🎶
do any other artists feel like. yeah you're a 'good artist' because you draw things that look nice, but like. TECHNICALLY? you're really not great
i really hate that i can recognise that yes, my art is good, but is it VARIED? is it dynamic?? is my anatomy good? is it full of texture and colour theory? do i know how to do This? can i do That? no, not really. and that's quite painful actually
doing chibi is a good design exercise bc it forces u to think on shapes n essential details, essentially thumbnailing ur designs. its also a terrible design exercise bc it ends up looking cute no matter what
