ok that last ask really bummed me for a good half an hour so b4 i go bed i just wanna remind some of yall anons to please mind ya business 😭
to the anon who asked me “how’d u go from being a lesbian to hooking up w a dude after”: even though i answered your question, and even if you were just genuinely curious i would much prefer you never ask me about stuff like that again
i don’t mind anons asking random questions (i love them actually!!!) just stuff revolving around my personal life i’m not ok with you asking about
and since we’re on this topic, someone literally asked the most weirdest question (on anon ofc.) about who i’m seeing couple days ago to where i had to delete it as soon as i got it
i cant believe i’d have to set these boundaries in place. that shit is hella weird. you’re not my friend, i literally don’t know you. and if i did, why tf would i answer that on here.
and also — just because i like to talk about parts of my life, doesn’t give you an invitation to ask about it, especially in a way that can come across as you shaming or judging me. thanks

I would just like to remind everyone that every single thing you say to someone affects them in a way, whether it be positive, negative, big, or small.
Everything negative hurts in some way, even if the person doesn’t show it. Even if the person themselves doesn’t feel it. Every whisper, every giggle, every gossip, every reaction, every purposeful avoidance for no reason, hurts. It may take weeks for the person to even recognise it’s happening, but it will hit them.
Doesn’t affect you that they are hurting? Doesn’t make you feel anything? Getting a little kick out of pretending to gag whenever that person walks past? Loving the weekly share of that person’s sex life with all of your friends, so that they can share it on social media, and suddenly that person is a slut?
It will affect you, trust me. Wait until the day that person disappears. One day they will snap. One day all the walls they put up to block you out, to deal with the tiny comments about their weight, will crumble down as quickly as they had to be put up. One day they’ll blame themselves for what you told them, and take it out on themselves. They’ll believe you. They’ll believe everything you say, whether that be consciously or not.
The lack of empathy of those who don’t understand their actions have ACTUAL consequences are unbelievable. I can’t understand why they can’t put themselves into the victim’s shoes for a hot minute, and understand the fact that some of their words and action cause people to literally hide themselves away. Some people will actively avoid walking outside because they honestly don’t want their hairy legs or their waistline to be pointed out today. Hiding in toilet stalls at work is definitely not how an ‘outstanding workplace environment with top quality care and respect for employees’ should have their ‘valued’ workers be spending their lunch breaks. Students shouldn’t have to wear tights in 35 degree heat because of the fear every single one of their classmates pointing out their unshaven legs, then following them the whole way out of school with knives in their pockets and insults in their mouths.
It makes me honestly question what I’m doing wrong. What changed from last year that makes me suddenly the one to get picked on? Or is it my new glasses prescription making all of this clearer to me, and so now I can see what has been aching me this whole time?

VERY IMPORTANT a dam in the Netherlands, the weerdsluis lock, is directly on a migratory path for spawning fish. They have a worker stationed there to open the door for the fish, but they can take a while to open it. So to keep the fish from getting preyed on by birds they installed a doorbell. Only, the fish don't have hands to ring the doorbell. If you go to their website, they have a LIVE CAMERA AND A DOORBELL that YOU RING FOR THE FISH when they're waiting, and then the dam worker opens the door for them! I can't express how obsessed I am with this. look at this shit. oh my god.

Please check on the fish doorbell once in a while :)

Brazil is going through one of the worst climatic crisis ever seen.
i live in the southernmost state, Rio Grande do Sul. we have been suffering from extreme, nonstop rainstorms for a week now. the rivers are flooding, reaching 4-6 meters above their natural level. people are being rescued by helicopters, neighborhoods are being evacuated. entire cities are slowly but surely becoming submerged in water. 60 people missing and counting. 32 deaths and counting.
and this is not new. last november also had a flood like this one. 50 dead, many material losses. it happened again this january, with thousands being left without power or water for days.
three catastrophical disasters within less than a year. three disasters only a few months apart.
this is not natural.
unsustainable agricultural practices and politics led to this. a complete disregard for nature led to this. greed led to this. always greed.
when it comes to the climate crisis, i cannot stress this enough: we need to act now if we still want to live. disasters like this are going to happen more often and they're going to be much, much worse. this flood is being considered the worst climatic catastrophe in the history of my state. i don't know how long it will take for another bigger one to happen and take its place. i just know it will be sooner than it should.
