(1) I would read the hell out of either Ted or Beard as detective with the other as sidekick, but if Ted were Sherlock, I assume it would be a Without A Clue fusion. XD

(2) Honestly, I'm now considering a team of Rebecca and Keeley solving mysteries together, sometimes teaming up with Sassy, Nora, Barbara, and/or Jade -- first client is Bex! -- and I want THAT. But I am not convinced that either Rebecca or Keeley would always take the lead. If forced to choose, it's easier to see Rebecca as lead, but I love to think they'd take turns depending on the nature of the case. KRPI - Keeley & Rebecca, Private Investigators?

(3) Roy would solve the mysteries silently, and nobody would ever learn the solutions. (Although Jamie and Keeley are capable of interpreting his growls, and perhaps they occasionally share info with others.)

(4) If you chose Jamie as the most hilarious option, please get out of my head. And maybe go read my latest chapter, in which Jamie tries to be a detective.

(5) Or should it perhaps be Jade with Nate as her Watson? She could absolutely intimidate people with her scathing observations. Though Nate would be a Watson of the more bumbling and hilarious variety (smarter than a Nigel Bruce Watson, of course, but with stellar physical and verbal comedy, and not terribly useful in a fight).

(6) Higgins would totally have Will as his Watson, bringing him along to mysterious destinations; playing stringed instruments at all hours; possibly interfering with his attempted sexual adventures. OTOH, Will would be a phenomenal detective for anything that transpired in the boot room, ever.

(7) I'm assuming Trent will sweep because he's a reporter, sneaky Colin tracker, etc. Almost left him off just for the fun of forcing people to pick from the harder choices, but couldn't bear to exclude him. Would totally read him and Ted solving crimes. (Who am I kidding, I would read any of these in a heartbeat.)

(8) Personal faves that I ran out of room for: Jan Maas, the himbo with the manners to match modern Holmes adaptations; Phoebe, who brooks no bullshit and should absolutely solve mysteries with Roy providing backup. I could always do follow-up polls if there are enough write-ins. :)

Final note: I am not planning to write any of these; AUs are generally not my writing wheelhouse. If you want to run with any of them, please do! And if this makes you crave detective AUs more broadly, there are currently a very small but non-zero number of them, even if none are Sherlockian. :)

Which BBC Ghosts would be friends with which Ghouls!

This is a real obscure one for the weird crossover between my favourite ghost fandoms akdjlajfs british people come get your food <3 more under the cut!

Rain and Fanny. They're both proper ladies who need everything to be done right (and done for them).

Phantom and Robin. The poor ghoul follows Robin around like a lost dog and most of his topside knowledge comes from Robin. Safe to say Phantom is completely clueless.

Cirrus and the Captain. They both like to take charge when the group is looking for a leader, but they also both think they're better at it than they really are...

Cumulus and Julian. Hear me out okay? They both have tendencies to get a bit too excited and overstep boundaries (thinking about the time lus sent a nude to the groupchat) so they're accountability partners to help keep each other in line. plus cumulus has easy access at all times

Swiss and Thomas. Both madly in love with an unattainable object of desire, Thomas with Alison and Swiss with Rain. They write poetry about their loved ones and recite it to each other, it's sweet really.

Mountain and Mary. I think Mountain was around when Mary was burned. He watched as she went up in flames, a (probably) innocent woman. I think Mountain helps Mary with her speech when she gets frustrated and can't find the words.

Aurora and Humphrey. Aurora is a ghoul that needs a sense of purpose, so early on when she wasn't on the chore rota she took it upon herself to be Humphrey's personal assistant. Helping his body find him, carrying his head around, and sometimes using him as a football

Dew and Kitty (KittyDew aww). They're the ultimate drama queens, vying to be the centre of attention at all times. But unlike Rain and Fanny, no one really cares. The pack/ghosts entertain them sometimes but mostly just to placate them and keep them happy.

Aether and Pat. Just some middle aged northern guys doing their thing tbh. They talk caravan holidays and which chippy is the best and they LOVE gossiping about small town drama <3

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? Yes, absolutely. It's pretty rare when I don't. I like to tell people that I appreciate their support and comments or to answer questions they might have about the story or the choice I made.

6. What's the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I don't do angsty endings. I'm too old and too jaded by life to appreciate them anymore. I'm at a point in my life where I need to know there's hope and happiness at the end of the line.

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? I'm guessing there will be some kind of repetition since I've only published Awic... Soooo, it's a Walk in Chiaroscuro! ...but if you want to know about the ones that I keep in my drawer never to see the light of AO3, the happiest ending goes to Let's Write a Love Story (it's a Homestuck fanfic)

8. Do you get hate on fics? No. I'm writing in a mostly dead fandom so far and for kind of a rare pair so, people have been starved of content. They were so nice and sweet to me in the comments.

9. Do you write smut? I wish! I don't have the chops for it but I so wish I could write good smut! Honestly it's something I really want to push myself into exploring. Unfortunately your girl is a bit too vanilla in her taste which makes for poor reading. I don't fear being bad... I fear being boring, you know?

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've ever written? I've never done that, no. But who knows what future will lead me to write.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? No. I don't have enough reach to be the target of theft.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope. And tbh I don't have the patience to translate it myself in my native language.

13. Have you ever co-written a fic before? Could have... but no. There was an attempt at a joined project for Dragon Age but, unfortunately, it didn't work out in the end. I'm not abandoning the idea of writing for Dragon Age but I'll probably go in a very different direction since it would be a solo project.

14. What's your all time favorite ship? I... don't have one... Yeah, I'm not much of a shipper at the core. I mean I did write for Caulscott but I practically ship Max with everybody in LIS so... I was more interested by Nathan's potential as a love interest more than the ship itself. Outside of LIS... I can't think of any ship rn, I'm afraid.

15. What's a WIP you want to finish, but doubt you ever will? Tough question. If I abandoned a project I don't consider it a WIP. It's a dropped thing that goes in the reusable idea bin... and if I'm still working on it, I don't go into thinking I won't finish it. So, it's hard to say really. To not leave you with such a vague answer, I'll give you this: the fic I planned to write about the Hidden Object Games series Dark Parable, that never took off and never will (for I have better/much more attractive projects to work on). It's a dropped thing. But now you can see I have weird and obscure taste.

As for original projects: I have a Horror RPG project that probably won't ever see the light of day, called: The Clockmaker. (because I realized I'm shit at pixel art, tragic)

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? Hum... No. I don't mind people doing it but I tried it myself in my pirate epic and, let me tell you, I'm not that good a multilingual as to be witty in more than 2 languages. I found what I wrote cringe af when I read back my text in the editing phase and scrapped it all out.

19. First fandom you wrote for? Homestuck. I started writing fics very late in my life. (I wrote original stuff before that)

20. Favourite fic you've ever written? A Walk in Chiaroscuro. Because it's the only fic I went into unafraid to write what I wanted without thinking about who might read it. And to this day it's the truer work I've put out. Not the most personal by any stretch but the one I indulged in the most. And I'm so proud of it. Flaws and all.

chat me up has always been my most popular fic and tbh ? yeah i see why XD it is one of the most fun and chatfics were popular at the time. after that come ...or not, blue like the sky, silent trust and saw my momma dad cheese

yes !! fandom is a community first and foremost for me, and posting is also a way to interact. comments are immensely lovely to get and answer !!

i have written or co-written a NUMBER of crossovers. most are not on ao3 yet (or... ever...) but i have posted death note x snow white and hxh x little red riding hood, so. however i do think that owari no seraph x the frog princess (the russian fairy tale) is the wildest one so far !

not to my knowledge, but that'd be kinda funny tbh ? imagine coming across your own obscure niche things in the wild. i'd almost be more disappointed it's not a new fic for my teeny fandom corner lmao

the shortest would probably be a couple hours, for guardian of his king (written in a fugue state at like 3am, after Syb shared the drawing that inspired it. two of us fell in a trance btw, this was a POTENT artwork). the longest... i don't dare calculate... but it is measured in years and i haven't even started writing yet <3

if you count detailed planning and extensive oral storytelling, many !! my best friend and i are very prolific behind the scenes, to her dismay XD. i thiiiiiink she is the only co-writer i have had ? but i LOVE doing group fics and i'd love to do it with other people

i'm not sure ! i do think writing dialogue is easier for me than most other things, and i love doing fun formatting / narrative constraints

i forget to put down half of the words on the paper so my sentences make no sense and it's horrible to edit <- loves editing. doesn't love when i reread myself and every five sentences i have to think "who tf wrote this and what the hell does it mean. how do you go from here to there ??? oh wait i forgot a sentence again"

18 - Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic?

english isn't my first language. i write dialogue in another language 99% of the time. i don't think this question really takes into account the amount of ESL writers who are basically always doing this

to stay closer to what the question was meant to ask though, i have written sentences, in the middle of english fics, in languages that me or most readers don't speak. it is usually either a LONG process of looking up grammar rules, vocabulary, existing sentences etc... or what i did once, "write with mistakes because the person is learning the language still"

it is good imo to have characters speak their native tongue, or to add your own HCs onto characters and make them speak in their new native tongue, but it can be done more or less respectfully and more or less clearly. how do you include a translation, if at all ? is it jarring in the flow of your fic ? what about inserting song lyrics in another language ? it's a case by case basis for me tbh, and as a reference i really love how yuri on ice did it during the anime

i don't recall what i first wrote for exactly but i first posted for death note in 2015 :0 a while back !!

5. Do you respond to comments? Why or why not? I try my best to reply to every comment I get! It makes me really happy when authors take the time to respond, so I try to make an effort to reciprocate from the other end. Plus: I write primarily for obscure-ass fandoms, and I want it to feel like people can talk to me, not just consume from me, so.

6. What is a fic you wrote with the angstiest ending? I have been reliably informed that I am SHIT at gauging the angst levels in my own writing. Having said that, I'd vote for the price of divinity, since it's a combination of bittersweet ending + major character death + the cycle continues. (I like cycles, what can I say. That's probably how I ended up in the revenge cycle fandom.)

7. What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending? morning dew is fluff all the way through!

8. Do you get hate on fics? I have not, probably because I inhabit my own cozy little corner of the internet. I'm glad the fandoms I'm in are so chill.

I used to write insane crack rpf smut fics of my friends in high school whenever they did something stupid (I distinctly recall writing something involving my friend climbing a ladder in heels in order to give another anal?? It was written in response to one of them going dumpster diving for an LED buttplug). I stopped doing this in college, but recently, I have met two idiots dear friends who have been eager to revive this old hobby of mine. Hence, blood red camellia. Among other things.

10. Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written? I do not. They've never really been my cup of tea, and also I'm lucky to have even one thought rattling around in my head at any given moment, never mind two.

11. Have you ever had a fic stolen? Not that I'm aware of! It'd be extremely unlikely, all considered.

12. Have you ever had a fic translated? Nope. I might translate some on my own at some point for practice, but that's far down the backlog for now.

I actually have a pretty cohesive outline, but for various reasons it's been a difficult fic to write, and many of the main themes are no longer as dear to me as they once were. Still, I hold out hope that I'll get back around to it someday.

16. What are your writing strengths? I want to say characterization? And I guess grammar LOL. I had some stickler-ass teachers growing up, and this is probably the only thing I can thank them for.

17. What are your writing weaknesses? Hnrhg plot. Thank god I can write all the character studies I want when it comes to fandom, so I'm sure no one has noticed this tiny little weakness yet.

18. Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language for a fic? I'd do it in a heartbeat if it was (1) in character and (2) I knew the language/had a friend who could translate for me, because there is nothing more embarrassing than having clearly machine-translated lines. But those conditions are so difficult to fulfill that it's never happened yet.

19. First fandom you wrote for? I wrote like... a chapter and a half of a Harry Potter fic when I was in, like, 4th grade? We don't talk about it. It's gone. I hope. I did not seriously try my hand at writing again until I got into Genshin Impact back in 2021, which is what I generally consider the first fandom I wrote for.

20. Favorite fic you've written? This one is hard... I think walk these shorelines with me is the best-executed, but I'm partial to Parallel Lines despite it not being executed quite as well as I would have liked.

Like if everyone stopped talking positively about harry potty altogether & only mentioned it to talk about how supremely shitty it was, & nobody or very very few people participated in any fan content whatsoever (no fan fic, no fan art, no fan films, no fan discussions, no forum posts or blog posts, no HP "inspired" stuff, no photosets or edits, no pinterest boards or crossover fandom AU's, no tiktok skits, no film OST covers, no merch, and no, not even "fix it" rewrites of her work), & those that DID like it or participate in its fandom were openly ridiculed, & especially, if everyone shunned Rowling for the worthless scum she is, then she literally would not have the relevancy she has now. It would fall into obscurity, & so would Rowling's influence and relevancy in the real world (especially politics or spreading hate online). You literally cannot just participate in a fandom, even if you never interact with official releases of things, & think that its not still supporting its original form.

Its the same reason why there was a "twilight renaissance" & it was brought back from obscurity, & why there's now talk of more twilight shit coming out AGAIN because (a lot & arguably mostly white tbh) fans decided they could stomach all the racism, abuse, pedophilia, and misogyny again. Because of fandom online.

From what I’ve seen, it seems like at DC fans fall into a few specific categories:

The Purist: keeps up to date on every run they possibly can, has read even the obscure storylines, has extremely strong opinions on adaptions, and will fucking kill you if you like WFA or whatever. The sworn enemy of the Fanfic Enjoyer, and also often has beef with other categories on the list, but not always.

The Fanfic Enjoyer: has never read a single comic and may or may not have any interest in changing that. Their favorite is usually whoever is currently Tumblr’s Special Little Boy. All of their knowledge comes from fanfiction based on other fanfiction and the occasional wiki page.

The Animation Observer: they’ve never read a comic, but they watch all the animated stuff. They avoid the live action like the plague. If they do watch live action, they’re very selective about it, but it’s worth it because their recommendations all slap. They may or may not have an interest in the comics, but for now cartoons are enough.

The Neutral Third Party: the backbone of the fandom tbh, they read comics but don’t really have an opinion on what the “right” way to enjoy DC is. They’re probably here mainly for the characters and as such don’t see a point in arguing canon details. Usually neutral or even friendly to the Fanfic Enjoyer in a way that others sometimes aren’t.

The Webtoon Reader: they read all the webtoon content but not much or even nothing else, so they can’t really be considered the Fanfic Enjoyer because they have, technically, read more than one comic but their knowledge is extremely limited and often not accepted by the Purists. They either don’t have the opportunity to read the actual comics or just straight up aren’t interested.

The Danny Phantom Fan: a subtype of the Fanfic Enjoyer, they read one too many crossover fanfictions and are now obsessed with Jason Todd.

Tbh I never know someone who make an art or create a fandiction from a show they hate before I know ml fandom it's just bizarre the amount of hate that they have to make an art or write a story just to twisted the character and on top of that claim they can do better than the creator the sodium they have in their body make my brain goes brrr the sad thing is I like some of the salty artist style but their constant hate toward the show make me reluctant to follow or even engage with their art

Oh Miraculous isn't the only series with a saltdom like that, in a lot of ways the saltdom and bashing resembles a milder version of the Harry Potter fandom (before Rowling started tweeting and things spiralled downwards.) There's a reason bashing is often called "Ron the Death Eater", after all (it's also the term I prefer to use, since "bashing" is kind of vague and can lead people to think I'm just talking about conveying something negative about a character, when I mean something a lot more severe and insane than that).

I think some of the people in the saltdom may be going dormant at least? Just filtering out "Lila Rossi" and "crossovers" on AO3 is usually enough to get rid of 90% of the saltfics on it, so I think some of them are probably heading for greener pastures.

Anyway, this kind of thing isn't new, and you're likely to run into a decent amount of it for any popular series that's been running for a few years. Miraculous is the worst case in any of the fandoms I've frequented (Digimon has been going on so long and is obscure enough that there's generally only hardcore fans left, Kingdom Hearts... okay Kingdom Hearts is an anomaly in and of itself with how little bashing and demonization and general insanity is in the fanbase, relative to the size of the fandom. It's a pretty large fandom, but has always been pretty chill in my experience. And Trials of Apollo is so tiny that if there IS major strife, the fanbase breaks apart and dissolves until someone gets the ball rolling on reconstituting it), but it's not THAT unusual a thing. I think Marvel, Star Wars, and RWBY run into this issue as well, to an extent.

Underrated character:

SAMANTHA LARUSSO!!! The amount of hate my girl gets for acting like a normal teenager and fucking up occasionally JUST like the rest of the cast makes me want to start punching things. She cares SO MUCH about her friends!!! And she loves the shit out of Miguel!!! She hasn’t always been the best friend but you know what??? Neither has Hawk, and we still forgave his ass!!! Also LET HER BE FEMININE but also kick utter ass, my god!!! Femininity should not be synonymous with being weak, y’all! ALSO DEMETRI, like yes, he likes to complain and occasionally run his mouth, but guess what else he likes to do??? Never give up on the love of his life his best friend Eli Moskowitz and refuse to lose faith in him no matter how much of a little shit he’s become, and I for one think that’s very badass of him. Also the way he takes care of Eli pre-Cobra Kai in his own snarky bastard way makes me absolutely Weak and needs more appreciation. Like the dude has charisma and COULD have probably made other friends and left Eli behind if he wanted, but did he??? No, he wants the weepy loser with the lip scar in the polo shirts and dorky sweaters and will protect him as much as his wimpy ass is able!!!

Underrated ship (don’t say therapy, lol):  

Among the adults, Daniel/Amanda!!! Like maybe I just don’t watch that much tv, but it seems kinda rare to me to see a happily married hetero couple, and it’s just nice to see a married couple who genuinely love each other and where there’s not like...lingering resentment or some shit. I feel like this ship gets overshadowed by Lawrusso a lot (which like--okay, fair!!! Daniel and Johnny do have a ridiculous amount of chemistry, and the gay undertones are undeniable, so I get it), and it makes me kinda sad. I do love Lawrusso, but I don’t like when Amanda has to get her heart broke for it to happen, you feel? Among the kids, honestly YasMoon. Like I really love the idea of Yasmine trying to better herself because of Moon’s influence on her and because Moon like...inspires her to be a better person, I guess? With their pretty strong friendship, it just makes more sense to me for Yasmine to get a redemption arc through Moon than through Demetri. ALSO girls DO often pull the whole “mean girl” shtick to cover up being closeted lesbians, and Moon IS canonically bi, so it could work!!! I just think this one could be a really interesting Friends to Lovers take, and could make a really nice coming-out arc for Yas. And MoonPiper too, honestly!!! Like they only got 5 seconds of screentime so I understand WHY it’s underrated, but I still love what we DID get and loved that there was a canon gay ship (even if only for 1 scene lmao). I’m really excited to potentially see more of them in Season 4!!! Please, I’m begging!!!

You know what would be fucking funny as hell would be an It’s Always Sunny In Philadelphia crossover. Allow me to elaborate: ~The Gang goes to LA on vacation during the height of the Karate Dojo Wars. They literally can get barely anything done without all these goddamn karate-fighting teenagers getting in the way. ~They are all very annoyed by this. Even the most obscure of tourist attractions is eventually intercepted by karate fights. ~Mac tries to join Cobra Kai because he sees all this karate fighting on, and wants to unquestionably prove both his badassery and masculinity. Both Johnny and Kreese are like “Wtf are you doing here? Aren’t you like 30?” ~Mac gets a planet-sized crush on Johnny after all of 5 minutes and endlessly gushes to the gang about him. The gang mercilessly roast him about this and about how much of a pathetic loser with his life together in no way whatsoever Johnny sounds like. They proceed to have exactly 0 self awareness about this. ~The Waitress is in town visiting family or something, and Charlie is stalking her, as per usual. However, every time he’s about to go up and talk to her, a pack of battling Miyagi-Dos and Cobra Kais throwing punches and kicks everywhere blocks his path. One times, Mac is among one of these packs and Charlie is like “???? He didn’t get kicked out of that teen karate dojo yet???” ~Seeing how much the Kids These Days seem to like fighting, Charlie drops by a local high school to try and sell Fight Milk to the kids doing karate. Only Kyler and Brucks buy into it, and subsequently get the entire West Valley High wrestling team sick. Charlie is inevitably arrested, as Counselor Blatt thinks he’s selling the kids drugs. ~Dennis makes a plan to have sex with every hot chick he can in Los Angeles. He meets Ali on a dating app post-divorce, and inevitably tries to bang her. It doesn’t work. ~Frank crashes the rental car, and inevitably the gang ends up at one of Daniel’s dealerships. Dee quickly takes a liking to Daniel and is like “Watch, assholes--Imma homewreck this guy’s marriage.” She starts frequenting the dealerships to attempt to flirt with Daniel, until one day she walks in on him having sex with Johnny in a back room and she’s like “Is that the guy from Mac’s goddamn dojo?!?!” ~Dennis, of course, tries to sleep with Amanda. Amanda is not having it, and rebukes him in the most snarky, Amanda-esque way possible. Dennis is just like “Oh not AGAIN--the women in this goddamn diva city have too high of standards!” ~Later on, the gang is at the beach and Dennis spots the blonde lady he went out on an ill-fate date with, and decides to give it another shot--that is, until he sees her go up and kiss another woman and he’s like “IS THAT THE LADY FROM THE CAR DEALERSHIP??? STUPID-KARATE-KICK-COMMERCIAL’S WIFE?!? YOU HAVE GOT TO BE KIDDING ME.” ~Dee complains to Dennis about her lack of luck getting laid, and Dennis is just like “Oh come ON, is everyone in Los Angeles gay???” Smash cut to Hawk and Demetri having sex, Moon and Piper making out, Bert and Nate holding hands, Chris and Mitch doing oral, and Amanda, Ali, and Carmen having a threesome. ~Frank tries to scam Kreese into buying cheaply-made karate equipment for his dojo. The gang ends up having to leave LA because Kreese is quite literally plotting all of their murders.

How do you usually plot with others, do you give input or leave most work towards your partner?:  Normally it’ll just happen? I’ll do my “Hey what if they ___” thing and then a rapid bombardment of inquiries and excitement later, there is a thread. It’s usually mutual, the involvement of creating this plot, but sometimes it’s just me being excited and them being excited and then suddenly BAM THERE BE THREADS. S’all good over here! 

When a partner drops the thread, do you wish to know?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. - And why?: I mean?? I’d like to know, yes! But I get that sometimes it’s incredibly anxiety ridden trying to tell someone that you’ve lost interest in a thread. It’s alright if you don’t tell me, but if you can muster up the courage to do so I’d appreciate it! I’m not gonna be upset at you for losing interest/muse in a thread! If I cared deeply about the story, I might poke at you and then you can tell me?? Either way it’s fine and tbh, I don’t mind. However, please let it be known that you can take forever on a reply as well so don’t worry about just hoarding a draft too! Tbh, I had someone reply to a thread literally a year later and I was still excited for it!  - What should your partner do when dropping a thread?:  Just shoot me an IM or hell, make a list of threads you’re dropping and tag me in it??? What could possibly lead you to drop a thread?:  Hmn, being overwhelmed-- I tend to accumulate a lot of drafts and 90% of them are long so sometimes I’ll drop a thread or two to help myself get by. Also lack of muse/interest is a factor. I won’t drop a thread purely out of being overwhelmed unless I just can’t muster up the muse to respond to it.  - Will you tell your partner?:   YES / NO / DEPENDS. Sometimes I get overwhelmed myself and I’ll drop a thread, forget to tell my partner, etc. Other times I’ll tell them before I even delete the draft! 

Is communication in the rpc important to you?   YES / NO. - And why?:  Yes and no~ Yes primarily! I get that others can take a minute to muster up the courage to talk to others and would just prefer to keep things to a few sentences at first! However, I can and will ambush you with conversation and interest nonetheless. Because communication is important. If you’ve got something you wanna say to me, say it! Why do you rp again, is there a goal?:  To write and have fun! To explore in depth the characters I create or take on! Like Shiro, I want to write out the things he must’ve seen, felt, experienced. How Nelliel was when she was alive, how Shiro fared in the Arena when he wasn’t fighting, Seb’s life torn between the various throws of data and reality-- there’s so much! And ALL THE AU’s!!!! All of them!!!

However, if I’m randomly given a starter that I can’t work with for the muse selected, I’ll inform the person who wrote it! I appreciate the effort given but don’t expect me to be able to reply to every random starter given! Sometimes, they don’t even show up in my tag. 

What type of characters catch your interest the most?:  Okay, I’m a sucker for the underdogs, aggressive folks and the villains. I’m not even going to try and lie and say I don’t immediately look at the Aizens and Kenpachis and go ah yes, those fucking gremlins, give me ten. I also love the background characters? The side characters in a show that seem so unimportant but have a crucial role? I love characters that have such an obscure involvement that you have to stop and ask why and how their involvement was crucial. I also love the soft beans? The ones who are so hyped with positivity and gleaming interest that they just can’t be ignored?? But then turn around and whoop some poor sap’s ass with that sparkle sparkle smile. Also love the upstanding moral types that also acknowledge that some things can’t be avoided and that morality is a grey area dependent on the perceptions of the individuals themselves. 

What type of characters catch your interest the least?:  Hmn-- I guess the kind that don’t seem to have much substance to them? The ones that are just uncharacteristically too kind. Yes, I love the overwhelmingly positive types but?? Also?? The ones that are too kind and without flaw just?? Don’t strike me as interesting. Also the ones that are just cruel for some obscure reason just to give them a reason to be villains. I mean I understand but also?? Villains don’t have to have a reason?? They can be cruel just to be cruel. Idk that’s always just been a thing with me.

What are your strong aspects as rp partner?:  I guess that I’m fairly laid back? I don’t mind if you take 10 years to reply, I’m going to get excited if you message me with some random idea, I’m not going to be bothered by any ideas you suggest?? I can also sometimes give u doodles?? I don’t have time to doodle a lot but sometimes, once in a blue moon, you’ll get a random offering of doodled booty for ur blessing. What are your weak aspects as rp partner?: Hnnn, I’m too laid back at times. I take too long to reply and I’m busy af IRL. I’m often goaded into being irritated by some asshole or another so I can come off aggro af too when I don’t mean to be. Sometimes I can get overwhelmed and disappear for a week, other times I can end up overwhelming someone else by being too excited? I tend to watch how much I do and say because I feel like I might come off as smothering and am too used to being shut down and told to shut up so I just don’t?? Do anything sometimes. I’m also not very good at initiating contact sometimes so I tend to go days and weeks without speaking to others.

More out of fun or character development?:  Usually only if it’s developmental for the characters involved. Sometimes it’s just fun to do! It really depends on the characters involved + if I have any muse in general for it.  - Anything you would not want to rp there?:  ???? Kinda vague, Idk? I mean if I don’t wanna rp somethin’ I’ll say so. 

Are ships important to you?:   YES / NO. Would you say your blog is ship-focused?:   YES / NO. Do you use read more?:  YES / NO / SOMETIMES. Are you: Multi-Ship / Single-Ship / Dual-Ship  —  Multiverse / Singleverse. - What do you love to explore the most in your ships?:  The relationship, the depth of two muses who can be wildly different or even similar. The multifaceted involvement of others to that relationship, the angst, the arguments, the sad moments along with all the happy things and how hard one might try while the other is cold-- etc. I don’t just want happy dates and sunshine, that’s not how relationships work after all!   - What is your smut tag?: Kettledrums

Are you okay with pre-established relationships?: YES / NO. - And what kind of ones?: I like a lot of pre-established relationships! However, I can be a tad wary of child muses? Aka: The ones who are children of one of my muses. Reason being, sometimes even I don’t know how they’d raise a child so the muse in question would be off putting to me because it’s out of my realm. Beyond that, I’m down for just about everything! 

► SECTION ABOUT YOUR MUSE.

- What could possibly make your Muse interesting towards others, why should they rp with this particular character of yours now, what possible plots do they offer?:  Since I have so many damn muses, I’mma just go with Shiro for all of this-- I suppose what they could find interesting is his very multifaceted dynamic as a soldier, human, technical non-human (Zombae), war worn, space exploring person. He can be rainbows and sunshine but also can suddenly become incredibly aggressive and cold. He’s not one or the other, he’s all and everything that he’s learned and encompassed while still remaining fragile and human in the end. Writing with him can be inspiring and can be soul wrenching, depending on the thread. As for plots, dude your character could be in space in one thread if the otherwise couldn’t be. There’s so many ways to go about writing with him?? He’s such an amazing character and the plots he can be instilled in are almost limitless with just his main verse. 

- With what type of Muses do you usually struggle to rp with?:   Hmn-- I guess the main one I have issues injecting him into place with would be the ones who are strictly non-tech oriented?? I mean, I can still have him there but getting him to fit is just?? Really difficult. Also with people who RP villains of his fandom and expect him not to be volatile. I’m sorry, but if you’re writing a S.endak or a Z.arkon-- you’re not going to get roses and butterflies with Shiro, plain and simple. If that’s something you can’t accept then don’t approach him with those muses.  - With what type of Muses do they usually work well with?:  He works really well with most anyone! So long as one goes into it knowing he can be hostile with soldiers, Galra, etc; then he can be used no matter what. He’s one of my most capable muses that doesn’t have much of an issue when it comes to responding. 

- What interests your Muse(s) in general:  Space, mechanics, biomedical engineering, people, freedom, fighting for a cause, flowers, his mother, violin, cats, sparring, getting stronger, constellations, nebulae, engineering, literature, alien languages, cooking. - What do they desire, is their goal?:  The safety of others, the freedom of others, the ability to choose, hope-- he wants to make sure those he cares for and all others are free and safe from the Galra take over.  - What catches their interest first when meeting someone new?:  How they look at him. If they show signs of pity, of fear, he tends to walk away from any possible meeting with them. Otherwise, their appearance is what first catches his eye. How they dress, how they respond to him, how they talk and if he can make them crack a smile with an awkward joke.  - What do they value in a person?:  Hope, Strength, Loyalty, Purpose, Honesty, Patience. - What themes do they like talking about?:  Shiro’s more of a listener than a talker, but honestly he’ll talk about anything of interest and question anyone’s as well to get them to talk about it. It’s what makes conversation with him easygoing most of the time.  - Which themes bore them?:  Himself. He’ll try to avert any conversation about himself if it’s too personal or too close to something. It’s not so much that it bores him but that type of talk is reserved for those insanely close to him. Also talk of command bores the FUCK out of him. He’s never been one to really like rank. 

- Did they ever went through something traumatic?:  So. Fucking. Much. Between being a prisoner of a war he was never involved with to being told he was a leader of a rebellion for said war, being a prisoner in the Arena and forced to fight and kill others, being held down and sedated as he tried to warn the others, DYING-- this boy has been thru too much.  - What could possibly trigger them?:  Certain noises, textures, Galra, medical equipment, certain lighting.  - What could set them off, enrage them?:  Galra, someone protecting him. - What could lead to an instant kill?:  Any bloodlust towards him or those he cares for. Most of the time, he has this under control and tries to be merciful, give them a chance; but sometimes, especially during an episode; there’s no stopping him from gunning for someone’s throat if they had any intent to harm another or himself. 

- Is there someone /-thing they hate?:  Z.arkon, S.endak, L.otor, H.aggar, Druids, himself a lot of the time. - Is there someone /-thing they love?:   The paladins, space fam in general, his mother, his friends, people in general. 

Is your Muse easy to approach?: YES / NO. - Best ways to approach them?:  Just approach him? Honestly, Shiro’s one of the easiest persons to converse with and get near. That doesn’t mean his guard is dropped, but he’s very easy going a lot of the time outside of battle. So long as you have a reason to approach him (even simpler ones like: his appearance, his arm, etc) then you’re set.  - Where are they usually to find?:  Oof, honestly? Anywhere. Space, Earth, other places-- he’s constantly on the move. If you want a set place, just say somewhere on Earth and I can work with that. 

Something you may still want to point out about your muse?:  Shiro is certainly easy to get along with, but he is not without flaw or issue. He has a plethora of issues even after the fall of the Galra Empire. He’s not without his scars, physical and otherwise. Approaching him is easy but getting close to him is not. Don’t expect him to be an open book. Just because he can talk about war, battle, fighting with a straight face doesn’t mean he wasn’t effected by it. He has suffered greatly and it will show the closer you get to him.

Fandoms you write for:  predominantly OUAT though truth be told, I’ve not actually watched the show with any regularity since like season 1. I just love Regina Mills. what an amazing character she is (thanks in no small part to the genius of Lana Parrilla) Also, pretty dragon ladies! what’s not to love there? Oh, and I’ve written a couple of Crossovers of Champions I am pretty proud of (including a Discworld one!)

I’ve dabbled briefly in Discovery (angsty Burnham/Georgiou is my jam apparently. One day I will write a fluffy piece for them. I do have at least one in me, honest.)

I’ve written a couple of Supergirl fics (but lbr here, I’m writing solely for Alex Danvers. Also, I have an idea for an AU that may someday come to fruition...)

Favorite story I’ve written: Hmm. Hic sunt still has a special place in my heart. I may never recapture how happy writing it made me. Though I have to say, Forever is Composed of Nows comes a close second, for various reasons, not least because it made me feel slightly better about the wrecking of Caroline and Kate. 

Story you were nervous to post:  Entr’acte (my first ‘Explicit’ rated!! omg. I can’t write smut) and Make a Fist. ye gods that one kept me up nights because of the terrrrrrible terrrrible joke the title made me think of that I then had to somehow make not-awful in the text. sigh. 

How do you choose your titles? with great anguished searching through both well known and semi-obscure poems for a phrase that resonates. 

Do you outline? oh good lord no! I enter the field of writing with no plan, but instead with vague signposts in mind (which very often are terrrrrible jokes) towards which I try to bend a semblance of plot. even my much-vaunted world building is often made up in the back of my subconscious and on the fly. 

How many of your stories are complete? cue near-hysterical laughter. tbh, most of my posted stories are complete. but my WiPs are epic in their unfinishedness. sigh. 

How many of your stories are in-progress? dude. too many. umm...what is it now: Hic sunt. LMCTW. Autumn Leaves. The Mills Foster House for Baby Dragons. see. that doesn’t seem so bad, does it? hah.

I may not always be able to fill them right away, but sometimes I turn out some very interesting things in response to prompts. :) (like...guess what powers the magic of the plumbing in a dragon’s bathroom?) oh darn it. that one’s not posted on AO3. no link :( but it was a pretty fun ficlet. lost to me now maybe. woe.

What’s your most popular fic, by whatever metric is most relevant to you (hits, kudos, comments, reblogs, some other trait)? *goes to stat page & tries to ignore how my eye twitches* Based on kudos/subs/books to hits ratio, that would be Feathers & Fur, my canon/soulmates AU for Cullen & Ev.

What’s your favourite fic that you’ve written? *hides behind hands* Negentropy. It’s a modern w/magic AU I started solely because F&F was drowning in angst & I needed a smut/fluff outlet. It is 100% self-indulgent & tbh I am embarrassed when people even open it...

What’s your best fic, and is it different from your favourite fic?  Silver & Gold. It was started initially as a way to explore Cullen & Ev’s dynamics/feelings pre-F&F timeline & it somehow turned into an exercise in being concise/character study. Just... trying to capture the feelings & moments that matter the most in exactly 100 words. I don’t think my writing is inherently good, but I actually am proud of this one.

Do you have a fic whose popularity surprised you? I wouldn’t call any of my fics popular. I’m pretty obscure & that’s okayyyyy. I didn’t start sharing my writing with the expectation I’d ever be a BNF & I was in this fandom for almost 6 months before I learned that was something people like strived for... *baffling*

Do you have a fic you wish more people would read? Wandering in the Dark. I try -- REALLY HARD -- with this fic (Noir 1930s twist on the events of DAI). I have an extensive outline/plan & I spend HOURS working on the worldbuilding to make sure it all makes sense within canon parameters and pieces together just right. I know that AUs aren’t everyone’s cup of tea, but if I could make you give it a chance, I would lol. But this was started as a way for me to get back into writing for myself so... it’s all good. I still love this thing oh so very much even if I want to throw it in the trash daily lately.

Is there a ship or fandom you haven’t written, but really want to? Oh I have considered a MEA Jaal/Ryder, but idk. I’ve read some fics that have done that relationship solid justice so I think I’ll pass on that. I’ve considered... *almost dies from embarrassment before typing this out** a DA/Stardew Valley crossover. Just farmer Cullen... and Ev moving in from the city like jfc I just want to relax but this land is terrible. Ok. I’m going to go crawl in a hole and die now.

Tell us a random fact about your writing process: I don’t really have much of a process. I can’t focus without silence, I blame having two kids for that, and I write 95% of what you read on my phone because I don’t have much time to sit down and do it on my laptop. There was a point of time where stats really discouraged me, but I’m finally coming back around to doing this for me.

Yeah, I’d add a lot more from older games I really like. I meet quite a few people who like certain fandoms and I have muses from those fandoms but I actually don’t get to write them all that much, so it dissuades me from bringing in more muses from those fandoms tbh. And of course, there are some that are just obscure af and even if I make crossover verses for them, I feel like people are going to be interested in the canons from their own series more, so... that’s just how it goes.
