I know I've said something similar before but like.
People are all "uwu we shouldn't let kids do hormone blockers or have surgeries because children can't consent to that!" and like. Aside from the fact that no one is doing gender affirming procedures on kids.
I would be willing to bet my left tit that these are the EXACT same fucks who would have given me shit from middle to high school and into college about getting laser hair removal, about my voice change from a soprano to an alto (not severe but noticeable, as I was a singer), who said I should amputate my healthy stomach so I could be more thin and "ladylike", who gave me ENDLESS shit for my body hair, including facial hair, who demanded I shave and pluck and squeeze myself into clothes and an image that didn't fit me and who ENCOURAGED me to take medications and have procedures that would permanently alter (and in the case of weight loss surgery? Damage, most likely) my body to fit what THEY thought I should be.
All because I have PCOS. My body is not what people expect of a cis woman's body.
Gee. It's almost like it has nothing to do with kids not consenting, and EVERYTHING to do with these chucklefucks wanting to deny trans kids access to life-saving care AND wanting to force intersex kids into medical treatment that they, by their own logic, cannot consent to.
But that's all fine when they're making us intersex folks "normal", huh?

I think it's funny when people say trans men don't experience misogyny. I experience it alot as an out and proud and obvious trans person. Most folks are good, they don't blink an eye (even in the rural south) but for some you can see it like a switch. The biggest tell in my experience is they start treating you like the world's biggest idiot. Like you couldn't possibly know more than them about anything. I also tend to get babied, people stop letting me do things I was doing previously such as lifting heavy stuff and outdoorsy type work.
I just think it's ridiculous that the most basic elements of misogyny, elements that have been defined and discussed for years, no longer count as misogyny because it's directed at a trans guy. How do people even claim it's "misdirected" (which is such a bullshit word irt oppression) it's all very clearly directed at me for having formerly been a woman*. And what of my time spent living as a girl? Does all that misogyny mysteriously disappear, all of my former experiences rendered moot by the fact I'm now a guy*.
I haven't even gotten into how cis men can be misogynistic towards each other but rad fems and people who pretend they aren't rad fems but boil misogyny down to "woman only oppression" like to ignore that. What do you call it when a cis guy shames another guy by calling him a pussy? "You hit like a girl" anyone? You can't explain this away as "misdirected" because the intended target is not a girl, is not mistakenly being perceived as a girl, it is a deliberate act of misogyny in order to enforce the patriarchal status quo.

A “queer cop” is an oxymoron (a self contradiction). Being a cop is a direct contradiction to being queer. You can be LBGTIA+, but if you’re a cop, you’ll never be the Q. Queerness doesn’t associate itself with the state’s violence, it opposes it.

i refuse to let clamp off the hook for underutilising himawari's fucking fascinating character setup and traits but on a less serious level im obsessed with the concept of her as an instigator of chaos.
like she's way less airheaded than she seems and it doesn't come off like Default Airhead Girl Behaviour or even Default Girl Companion That Ships Her Friends primarily (like not as hard as some other series by comparison I mean she's very I KNOW WHAT YOU ARE by default) specifically she just seems like someone that thoroughly enjoys being a little shit in a sincere way and giggling at her dumbass friends and has a shade of high emotional intelligence about it all. like she's just girl of all time. she's i don't know where im going with this just take this low effort meme from when i watched the holic stage play on youtube this isn't a coherent thought it's like 2am ill come up with better thoughts later

Thinking about Noah Schnapp performing a van scene "you make her feel like she's not a mistake at all"

I wish I could burn this advice inside my eyelids: If someone who used to treat you like shit - be it a friend, family member, or bully - reaches out to you on social media years after the fact, you are under no obligation to accept an apology, justify or excuse the harm they caused you, or accept that they have grown into a better person just because you have.
Once an abusive pattern of behavior is established, it's certainly not going to change with the passage of time alone.

thinking about how “man shall not sleep with man” was a mistranslation of the bible that was actually “man shall not sleep with boy” instead calling out pedophilia and not queerness. and then thinking about the ratio of christian and catholic pedophiles to christian and catholic queers

how are there people who actually for real get mad when a celebrity says some funny vague winding ambiguous nonsense about their sexuality. Like the way people react you’d think that the celebrity had said something actually homophobic directly to their face. cmon guys celebrities aren’t real they’re just the little entertaining freaks inside our computer screens i think they should be as annoying and kind-of-glass-closeted-but-maybe-straight-but-who-knows as they want to be. because it’s funny.

I've always been on the aro spectrum even before I was fully aromantic and thinking back to so many TV shows/movies I would always think that "unnecessary" relationship plots/drama made the media actively worse and was very rarely into them. Now I realize that the few pairings I did like on my own (and not bc everyone else did so I just fell for it too) was because the writers were able to convince me that the characters respected each other on a personal level. If I couldn't see or even imagine the respect I didn't like them as a couple (not that I realized it until I was older). That still holds SO true for me, and let me tell you the numbers haven't gone up much.
