What They Think Of You (Season 1)

🌟Lucifer🌟

✦ At first, Lucifer thought that everything might just go smoothly for once. You seemed generally polite and conscious of your circumstances, not at all like his trouble-making brothers.

✦ But you were only human. And temptations would be around every shadow-y corner of the Devildom... He just didn't expect you to immediately go head-first into the most personally affecting ones for him and his family.

✦ Your spontaneity between acting so innocent and demure to boldly putting yourself in harm's way threw him off in a way he hadn't truly anticipated. Especially with the incident in the Underground Tomb.

✦ You were certainly fascinating, he'd give you that. What was more fascinating and scary however, was the impact you were leaving on his younger brothers.

✦ Mammon almost never left your side, Levi actually made an effort to spend quality time with a non-family member, Beel would now often set aside some of his food for you, Asmo was completely doting on you in a way he never did with anyone else, and Satan had matured in such a short amount of time partly in due to your words of advice and interactions.

✦ He was even finding himself endeared to your earnest endeavour to befriend and understand Demon-kind. For someone who seemed so anxious and doubtful, there never seemed to be a single thought spared to abandoning your own moral code.

✦ And he respected that. He really did, and that was something his pride was slowly coming to terms with. He was starting to personally care about you, not as an Exchange Student, but as the consciously kind and perceptive individual he was now seeing you for.

✦ And yes, this development definitely had a large and potentially lethal wrench thrown into it with the reveal of Belphie's imprisonment in the attic.

✦ He felt ashamed of himself. He had clearly misjudged you all along, and you were just like any other selfish human who was just too curious for their own good. He never used to hate humans, per se, but he wasn't ever particularly fond of them either.

✦ So confirmation bias had hit him hard. Because above all else, he had let this happen. All of it. From the moment he rebelled against their Father, to how he started to soften and genuinely lower his guard around a mere deceitful human, he was the cause of all of these current circumstances.

✦ And Lilith…

✦ He only realized it upon later reflection, but he had always seen a bit of Lilith in you. He couldn't ever pinpoint it, but the moment you hugged him in the Underground Tomb, something just felt right again. After so, so long.

✦ And from that moment on, he ever so slowly started to trust you. You had unintentionally wormed your way into the family, and his brothers were certainly not letting go of you anytime soon. And neither was he.

✦ His respect for you had only grown once he put aside his pride to realise that every single action that you had taken was for the sake of his family. What obligation did you possibly have to do all of this?

✦ Clearly not publicity or fame, otherwise you wouldn't have kept it a secret and downplayed your role whenever you discussed it after the fact.

✦ Of course, an ideal circumstance would have been to gain the favour of his other brothers by saving Belphie, which would easily place himself as the grand villain of the story, and yet you had never used that narrative to your advantage.

✦ When he confronted you about these thoughts, even you seemed a bit uncertain as to why you did it.

✦ Because yes, you may have had your own personal struggles with family and didn't want the worst case scenario that almost happened to you to happen to others, but the complete dedication and tenacity you had for the task surprised even yourself.

✦ And that's when Lucifer knew. Not because of societal status or for any other personal gain: you just wanted to help people. It made you feel happy and fulfilled just to help people and see them be happy.

✦ And how long had it really been since he'd seen such genuine and reckless selflessness right in front of his eyes? The flashes of forbidden Celestial Realm food and a bedridden human in his mind was all the reminder he needed.

✦ So from there on, things were brighter for the both of you. While still reserved, Lucifer was endlessly amused by your interactions and hijinks with his brothers, and would contentedly watch on almost like a proud parent.

✦ Because he was proud to have someone like you as a part of their family...

•Powwow of the Nonhuman, a Great Celebration of Indigenous Otherkind!•

•Many greetings to those who have laid their eyes upon these writings! I am very, very happy to announce a new community project I have been working on for the past month. Powwow of the Nonhuman is a digital celebration of indigenous peoples who identify as animals or non-human species! Those of us who are therians and otherkind who are indigenous have sadly been fragmented and unrepresnted in our respective communities. This event seeks to change that! We wish to celebrate the indigenous cultures, traditions, and ceremonies that some therians and otherkind are a part of!

•In my viewpoint, therians and otherkind who are both nonhuman identifying and indigenous have a special connection to the nature, medicine, and energy of our Mother Earth, Father Sky, and Great Creator. We have a connection to both the world of humanity and the world of the animal people and the plant people. We are essntially the animal and plant people living the human experience. We should embrace and love both our nonhuman experiences and our human culture.

•The powwow will be hosted digitally on the event's official website via the integrated video system. The powwow will consist of a pre-scheduled, refined and edited motion picture featuring individual and unique presentations of indigenous culture and otherkind experiences by our event presenters. There will be intermittent periods during panels and presentations where indigenous vendors can present their wares during the powwow. We are working on implementing a chat system on site so individuals who attend the powwow premier can interact and talk during the course of the event.

•Powwows are not only for indigenous peoples who originate from the continental Americas, we welcome all indigenous peoples from all areas of the world. This includes indigenous peoples with roots originating in Australia, Africa, Asia, The Middle East, and all island nations. All people of color are welcome to present at the powwow, whether they know where exactly their indigenous roots stem from or not.

•We need a few things to make this event happen. We need individuals who are capable of editing videos and audio since the powwow itself will be hosted on video and prescheduled. Editing a motion picture of this size will take a lot of effort, so we will need individuals who are committed to working on a project such as this. We need staff members to help with event organizing and planning. I will be doing much of the work, though I will not be able to run an event like this alone, I need some support from the indigenous community. Additionally, we need at least eight presenters for the event, not including staff members. Please help us to reach this minimum goal by boosting this post and spreading the word about the powwow!

Celestial Kingdom Energy Department notes on “The Sarcophagus” - written at behest of Her Unconquerable Celestial Cheese Cookie and approved by Lead Supervisor Goggles Cheesebird

The energy cell is, as designed, a containment device built-to-request for the spoil - identified as client [READ: Unknown Origin - under review by Chronicler] retrieved by the Queen. Its purpose is to serve as a primary energy distribution and conservation chamber for the continued efforts of Kingdom Restoration and Revitalization, linked to [citation needed] sectors AA, AB and AC of the kingdom’s grid. The energy cell is comprised of an outer shell to which the External Links from the processing facility are connected, as well as the machinations for diagnostics and wellness. The front hatch folds back to reveal the inner chamber where the spoil is housed.

The Soul Jam identical to Her Radiance is stored in the inner chamber. Subject (ID:) “Burning Spice Cookie”, currently in possession of the artifact, is subdued and preserved along with it. Ample care is required to uphold the stability of the contents of The Sarcophagus, therefore, as the Soul Jam’s unintelligible power must be siphoned and processed evenly to ensure equal energy distribution. As the host of the outlier Soul Jam has access to this power, procedures have been established to keep it in a state of stability. Currently the subject is in continuous stasis, with wellness diagnostics run once per day to monitor its function. Motion and sound are absent. Subject is in good health [visible aberration has been ruled correlative to procedure] and remains cooperative. (ADDENDUM: recent conscience tests uncovered a change in behavior: while the body is dormant, the mind fluctuates between varying degrees of awareness. Further research by Her Radiance is being conducted.) When running diagnostics, the inner chamber is exposed and lowered to a more accessible position. At all other times the inner chamber is concealed by the external shell.

Additional Notes:

Her Unconquerable has separated research on “Burning Spice Cookie” from the Soul Jam itself. For future reference, matters of the Soul Jam are under jurisdiction of the Energy Department, while anything regarding its host is reserved for the Queen herself. Wellness diagnostics are to ensure the Soul Jam remains in a stable medium. Additionally, information regarding the acquisition of the Soul Jam and its medium are to be kept classified. [Please remain aware of the aforementioned visible aberration (needs citation) present on the subject’s right arm; its magic does not seem to respond to the energy cell’s mechanics. Research will be conducted if requested.]

Please alert Her Radiance of any changes in the subject’s behavior. Ignore deviations when she is present. Soul Jam research will be forwarded to her as well. Laughter and idle chatter filled the ballroom. Silver and Gold Decorations were strung from the ceiling and walls.

Joy and the Christmas Spirit filled the air. It Brought a soft smile to Bruce's face.

He saw Damian with Jon, snacking at the Buffet table. Clark and Lois were catching up with Oliver and Dinah. The rest of his kids were scattered around the ballroom, thinking that Bruce didn't realize they were causing trouble.

In his opinion, the most beautiful sight was not the snow falling outside or the beautiful decorations. No, to Bruce, the most beautiful sight was right next to him.

You, [Name], His wonderful husband.

You were dressed in the most beautiful, white suit. It had light blue snowflakes embordered in it. It reminded Bruce of you're wedding day. You were just has handsome as you were then.

You were holding onto his arm, also looking out over the event. The lights shimmered in your eyes, only making Bruce swoon harder.

Bruce gently nudged you, "You look wonderful tonight, my love."

You looked at Bruce, smiling softly, "And you, my dear, are handsome as ever." You replied, pressing a kiss to his cheek.

Bruce chuckled, "I have to go down there, socialize. Alfred's orders. If only I had a handsome man to make it bearable." He teased.

"Yes, Bruce, If only." You said, gently taking his hand and leading him downstairs.

You always made interacting with people bearable. You made everything bearable for Bruce. Maybe that's why he didn't try to sneak out of the Gala with Jason.

You smiled softly at him as you two approached a few socialites. They tended to be more generous when Bruce spoke to them.

Bruce knew you, you knew you didn't care about the chatter. You tended to only speak to the socialites when spoken to. Honestly, Bruce couldn't blame you. He low-key respected your ability to tune in and out of conversations on a whim.

He couldn't help but glance at you every now and then, taking in the sight of you in your suit. Taking in the sight of you.

You were... amazing. Bruce found that he really lucked out with you. You cared not for his money or status, you saw through his himbo act... You saw... Him.

Bruce could never be more thankful for you, especially now as you stood by his side.

Keep seeing people wanting the Celestial family to meet Eclipse's family (who I will refer to as the Penumbra family), so why not make some art of it since Ive also been wanting to see some of that—especially after today's eaps ep (CHARLIE NOOO DD:)

Fun facts about my Eclipse and Solar designs:

1) The more their rays fold, the more stronger their emotions are; usually, the sharper black rays dont fold (+the "stringers" for Eclipse), but they do when their emotions are too intense or they decide relax (since they make an effort to keep their rays up).

2) Their lower eyes are usually shut, but they do open! Usually to keep a closer eye on everything. In addition to that, the lower eyes are more active because theyre often shut! The eyebags are just there to match the upper ones :)

So a while ago, my father gave me a loan. It was desperately needed at the time---I was between law school and my first job, I didn't have a lot of ready money on hand. And I was so grateful, using my brand new JD to draft a "contract" that stated the repayment terms. (He was an incredibly forgiving loan administrator too; I just shot him a text any time I didn't think I could wrangle a payment in a specific month.)

Since my dad is quite old school, he wanted written checks as opposed to cash transfers or app payments or what have you. So I fell into the habit of writing him letters to accompany the checks---nothing particularly interesting, but for a man Of His Time, who was never quite sure how to talk to his daughter, I think they did a lot to make him feel connected to me. (Especially since this was purely between us, not something that needed to be triangulated or arranged by my mother.) I wrote him letters about everything from the mundane to the lofty to the mundane again---what I was reading or the things I was thinking about; about Chicago or my job, whatever I was doing that month, loneliness, the power or music, etc.

A couple of times, I wondered (and then wrote in the letters themselves) whether this was something he liked, if he still wanted this? Was this boring? Because I could stop---

---and every time, he would get the letter and immediately text me to say, No, don't stop writing.

The loan has been repaid for a while now, but I would be lying if it didn't warm the stupid cockles of my heart when my father reaches out and says, Hey, I kind of miss your letters.

What They Think Of You (Season 1): 💳Mammon💳

✦ I'd say we're all keenly aware of how annoyed Mammon was at having to babysit the Human Exchange Student. Lucifer is always pushing the menial work off to him, as if he's the only one with more important things to do!

✦ Well, at least you were being compliant and causing little inconvenience to him so far, but really, a whole year of this? Yeah, he was going to drop you as soon as he found the chance to…

✦ …And then you made a pact with him.

✦ Not one of his proudest moments, he will admit, but now he'll have to pay more attention to you, or else he'll just have another person yanking on his chain and telling him what to do! At least, that's what he wants everyone else to believe.

✦ Because admittedly, he was very curious about you. In most social situations you were anxious yet agreeable, but in the moments where you were alone with him, you'd quickly gain the confidence to tease and joke around with him.

✦ And so the first time he sees you genuinely smile and laugh, he already knows that he's a goner. His greed never lies, after all.

✦ And the TSL Showdown sealed the deal for him. He didn't want to see you hurt, because he was the one supposed to protect you, and no one else. You were his problem to take care of, and he was gonna make damn sure that everyone else knew that, including you.

✦ And somehow, despite his foolproof logic, you had seemed so surprised by his confession...

✦ He was willing to accept all the jabs, all the jokes, all the insults if it meant that you would start to rely on him the same way he was starting to rely on you.

✦ He didn't realise it at the time, but he really just needed someone who would accept him for who he was without the constant attacks on his character: A fresh pair of eyes that were able to see him for more than his outward bravado and scummy acts.

✦ You were kind to him, you defended him, and you really seemed to be fond of him.

✦ And his brothers would question why you would defend him so frequently, how you shouldn't feed into his ego when he was so clearly in the wrong, but you would always reason your way out of things. He really started to admire your steadfast and caring nature.

✦ As long as you were there alongside him, he would go just about anywhere and do almost anything that you asked.

✦ The whole Belphie situation left an indelible impact on him. Because first of all, his baby brother had been hidden away without them even knowing (which made him utterly pissed at Lucifer, though he didn't let it completely show.)

✦ And then what Belphie did to you…

✦ Even if you would ultimately end up alive after it all, he doesn't think he'll ever forget the sight of your dying body in his arms, and how it made him feel. He was mourning his human, and he couldn't bring himself to do anything else but sob.

✦ And like everything else in the aftermath of that situation, he just held his feelings back and tried to not let it affect him. Because you were Lilith's descendent, which suddenly made everything better apparently!

✦ …But that did make him wonder; if he felt like this, so distraught and racked with guilt over what happened, then what in all the Three Realms were you feeling?

✦ His brothers mocked him for his stupidity, and while he may get ahead of himself at times, Mammon was arguably the most emotionally mature of them all. It was just as the second eldest, he would hide his true feelings almost as much as Lucifer did.

✦ For the sake of his family, he played the clown. Partially because he was pretty stupid at times, but also because that's just how their family worked. And he was more than fine with that, because as long as his family stayed together, that's all that truly mattered to him.

✦ And guess what? You were part of the family now too: 🎉Congratulations!!! 🎉 So he just wanted to be there for you in whatever way you needed. Just as long as he could be with you, he would be happy.

✦ Just as long as he kept himself in check, and cared for you only as much as you did for him, he could hopefully keep his greed at bay…

I've been thinking about Nico's sword lately and honestly? That weapon alone is extremely OP,even more than whatever other weapon we had in the books (that don't include magical artifacts,because those are part af a different category).

Riptide is made of celestial bronze,so it can harm demigods and monsters,and has a special feature of always returning with Percy no matter what because it's enchanted.

IVLIVS could always be with Jason because it was a golden coin that turned into a javelin,but it got destroyed pretty fast in the narrative so we don't know if it had some other frature. It was also made of imperial gold so again,could slay monsters and immortals.

Katoptris's original use wasn't for battle,since Helen used it as a mirror,but with Piper it mainly focus on its special feature: visions. It was quite useful for them but Piper hated it so we never got to know much about the dagger.

Backbiter is a modified version of Kronos's scythe (sick enough with just this,since Luke can open portals and travelable rips through space and time),but it's made of tempered steel and celestial bronze so it can kill mortals,demigods and monsters and sever their souls.

All of those swords have different feature that distinguish them from normal ones,but they are still made of typical materials for demigods: imperial gold and celestial bronze,while stygian iron is only used for one sword in the books. Luke's sword,in this list,is the only one that is similar to Nico's in term of powerfulness,but it's still quite different.

Stygian iron is a magical metal capable of absorbing or destroying the essence of: monsters,Gods,Titans,demigods and Giants. And,unlike imperial gold and celestial bronze,it can harm mortals,monsters and immortals alike,and prevent the souls of monsters from returning to Tartarus,and traps those of the people it touches.

Technically stygian iron is the strongest,of all the metals,in the books. And the only sword made of this material is Nico's. Only the children of the Underworld can touch the material,but the sword itself can only be touched by Nico,otherwise everyone else souls get trapped and things can get ugly.

Like,not even Percy or Luke had this much power in their weapons: Riptide is a "normal" sword,for how much "normal" its user is,and Backbiter had so much power because it got modified to be similar to Kronos's weapon,but originally it was just made of different metals. But Nico? Nico got a weapon of mass destruction and extermination of humanity in his hand every day. And we never talk about how much damage it can cause,and how much OP it is compared to the other swords.

It doesn't even have a name like the others,but people already know to not fuck with a black sword laying around,becuse they know it's Nico's. Because he is the only one to have,use and held that sword. That's just how iconic it is and how unique it is to everyone. And just like Riptide and IVLIVS (before it got destroyed),his sword is always with him since he can summon it from the shadows and the darkness.

That weapon is OP,literally the strongest of the whole main timeline (we are talking about more than almost 20 books) and we never gave it much more than a look.

This is just another moment of Rick "I don't want someone to overshadow Percy but I already added this....I'll just made sure to not use that too much so people will not give it much attention" regarding Nico.

I'll probably do a list for how many times it happens.

Earlier this week I reported on the very depressing for-profit fic pirating happening in certain corners of fandom—but (somewhat coincidentally, timing-wise) I also had the joy of reporting this story on fanbinding, and the work of the @renegadeguild! Featuring the words (and fanbinds) of the brilliant @celestial-sphere-press, @butterfingersbookbinding, and @fanboundbooks (who also talked about Renegade on the most recent Fansplaining episode).

Renegade's binders are strong proponents of the non-monetized gift economy—they truly embody the spirit of fanfiction, in my opinion, both in the communal way they share their work with fic writers and each other, and in the DIY way they approach making books:

There’s a strong parallel between the amateur, instinctive nature of fanfiction and the act of fanbinding. While plenty of fic is penned by formally trained writers, much of it is not. Tiffo, who binds as Fanboundbooks, likens the reverse-engineering involved in teaching oneself both activities. As writers, people try to figure out why stories work. Fanbinders collectively share the process of learning to turn that work into a physical object—tactile, clean, often beautiful. Fic is largely unencumbered by the forms and structures of traditional publishing, and fanbinders approach their work with the same spirit. “People will often say, ‘How do I do this?’ or ‘What’s the rule for this?’” Tiffo says. “The answer that we always try to throw in Renegade is, ‘This is what other people have done, but know that there is no rule to your book���you can make whatever you want.’”

It's a shame seeing people conflate the bad actors of the pirating situation—many of whom don't appear to be in fandom and seem motivated by pure profit—with the work of fanbinders at large, and seeing people scared to try out fanbinding because of the recent news. Not-for-profit fanbinding is just as legal as writing fanfiction, and I don't speak for all fic writers, but if someone ever bound one of my fics, I'd be so touched I would almost definitely weep. 😭
