"Daddy."
Levi was kneeling before his five-year-old daughter as he grabbed a coat for her. "Yes, my little flower?"
She sighed. "Witches don't wear coats."
He smiled at her. "Well, your mummy is a witch and she wears them."
She blushed a little. "Mummy's pretty."
"She is and so are you." He hummed a laugh and grabbed a wholly cape coat with a witch hood. "How about this?"
"Yay!"
He chuckled and put it on her. "There we go. My perfect little witch." He winked at her. "Now, do you want your pretty boots or wellies?"
She threw her arms out. "Wellies!"
"You got it."
You walked over with Evan, your two-year-old, in your arms. "Hello, both. How are you?"
Levi smiled up at you. "Hello, beautiful. I was just dressing up your little witch."
You plopped Evan on his little feet and grinned. "Like me! We're matching, my little flower."
Lilly ran over to you and jumped up and down. "A witch like mummy!"
You picked her up and hugged her tightly. "That's right. You excited about going pumpkin picking after our walk?"
She threw her hands up. "Yaaay punkins!"
You kissed the side of her head. "Let's get your little bag."
"It has my wand in."
You went over to the bags hanging up and found Lilly's which was a pink big milk carton. You put her down and handed her the bag. "Here you go."
Levi fixed Evan's coat on for him. "All good little lad?"
Evan nodded. "Yes, daddy."
He stood up and sighed. "All right, let's get going on our walk. What are we hunting this time?"
Evan reached up and took Levi's hand. "Fairies!"
"Perfect."
Lilly hurried over. "Gonks too!"
You took her hand. "You making a deal with them?"
She gazed up at you. "I want to give them a present!"
You smiled softly. "Well, it's a good job I made you a little offering bag. I've put it in my bag."
Levi opened the front door. "Shoes on and let's head out."
Everyone finished getting ready before gathering outside the house. A woodland walk was the first on your list of things to do because your children loved being outside and exploring. Lilly was really into witch things, so any chance she could get out into the woods she took it. Evan just loved seeing animals and flowers.
You watched Lilly hurry ahead on the woodland path. "Don't run too far sweetheart."
Lilly slowed down. "Sorry mummy!"
Levi reached over and rubbed your back. "She'll be okay."
You hummed. "She might slip."
Levi flinched. "You're right." He let Evan go and ran over to Lilly as she got too close to the river. "Lilly!"
Evan stared at Levi before squealing with laughter. "Daddy's funny."
You took his hand and giggled. "He is, isn't he?"
Levi slowed down next to Lilly. "Careful of the water, okay? See this bit here? The moss? It's slippery here so you have to be careful."
She smiled at Levi. "Sorry daddy, I'll be careful."
"It's okay. Good girl. Hold my hand, okay?"
"Yes, Daddy!" She held his hand tightly and walked along with him. She tapped her wellies in the water and giggled. "Daddy?"
"Mm?"
"Do you think the Gonks will like me?"
He smiled at his daughter. "Of course. You are sweet and adorable. They will think you are the best."
A cute blush spread over her cheeks. "Wooow."
He squatted behind his daughter and hugged her close. "Can you see the fish?"
Lilly watched the water and gasped in delight when she saw the tiny fish moving around. "Cute!"
"They're coming to say hello. They're kissing your lovely wellies."
She giggled. "They're the best!"
Evan stomped his little feet as he walked along. He came to a stop and turned to you. "Mummy?"
You followed him. "Yes, little man?"
Evan pointed at a ring of mushrooms around a tree. "Fairies."
You gently moved him back from the ring. "Be careful. Remember what I told you about fairies."
He nodded. "Bad. They are naughty."
You played with his raven hair and admired him, he was just like Levi in looks. "That's right. We can look but not go near."
He waved. "Hi, fairies. Be good!"
You hummed a laugh. "You told them! Come on, let's go see your sister."
Evan gasped and started running to his older sister. "Lillyyyyy!"
You couldn't help but giggle when he ran over in his big puffy coat over to Lilly. "Cute."
Levi caught his son and stopped him from falling over. "Hold hands with your sister, okay?"
Lilly grabbed Evan's hand. "I'll look after you!"
Levi got up and walked over to you. "And I'll look after you."
You squeaked in delight as Levi pulled you close and nibbled your neck. "Levi."
He smirked when the kids giggled. He pulled back a bit and kissed you. "Come on, we have to give an offering to the gonks." He held you close. "Lead the way kids, but be careful, okay? No running."
You leaned against Levi as you walked with him. Both of you watched your children closely as they walked along the path. Your kids would walk a bit before waiting if they hurried too far ahead. It wasn't too cold yet, but Levi had wrapped them both up a lot to protect them from any cold.
Lilly came to a stop. "Mummy? Gonks!"
You opened your purse and pulled out a bag with little offerings. "Got the offerings." You crouched next to her and saw the stone slab with little offerings on it, candles, letters and a cute stone home. "All right, come here my little flower."
Lilly cuddled up to you and took out a few things in the bag. "Enjoy the food and drink we give you, lovely Gonks! Look after us."
You put some things down. "Look after us." You stood up and smiled. "I think we should go pick our pumpkins out now. Right Levi?"
Levi nodded. "Ready." He heard Evan make a noise. "What's wrong little man?"
Evan gazed at Levi and looked tired, before pulling a sad face, then a silent crying face and finally he started crying a little. "Tired."
Levi picked up Evan. "Oh dear. I've got you. You rest your little legs, okay?" He rubbed Evan's back. "You rest, let me carry you."
Lilly held your hand. "I'll hold onto you, mummy."
You smiled at how sweet your daughter was. "Thank you."
Levi led the way on the path until he reached the farm with all the pumpkins in. Levi smiled and waved at people as they greeted him. Being the sheriff of the town meant he was rather popular, especially with the ladies and elderly. He was strong, kind, dedicated and now he was a dad he had that extra softness to him.
Lilly bounced up and down. "Yaaay! Punkins!"
You released her hand and let her run a bit. "Stay close!" This town was incredibly safe for children and people, but your babies were precious to you and you worried. "Bless her."
Lilly picked up a funky-looking pumpkin and held it above her head. "Mummy! Look at this one!"
Levi handed you Evan. "I'll go stop her before she drops it on her head."
You adjusted your son. "You tired?"
Evan nodded and snuggled against you. "Tired."
"Bless you. We'll get you some yummy hot chocolate and a doughnut."
He nodded. "Thank you, mummy."
You joined Levi and Lilly to see he was holding a few pumpkins. "Levi? We don't need that many."
Levi whined. "But Lilly."
You kissed Levi's cheek. "I know, I know, you want to spoil our kids."
"I do." He sighed. "Lilly? My little flower witch? No more pumpkins, okay? Otherwise we'll have a lot of smelly pumpkins when the season is over."
Lilly grinned. "Okay, daddy."
Levi relaxed a moment and felt happy his kids were accepting of nos and reasoning. "Let's pay for these and then we'll get you some hot chocolate and a doughnut."
"Yummy!"
You kissed Levi's shoulder. "Good boy."
Levi perked up and hurried over to the counter to pay. He chatted with the farmer and thanked them for a great event. He put everything in a box to carry and smiled fondly at Lilly as she chatted with the farmer about her cute witch ways.
You waved to the farmer. "Thank you again. All right little ones, time for that hot chocolate and doughnut."
Levi led them to a little cosy part of the farm and sat Lilly on his lap. He ordered drinks for everyone and a nice freshly made doughnut coated in granulated sugar. "Mm, this is the best."
You tore up Evan's doughnut and fed it to him. "It's perfect."
Evan hummed in happiness. "Yummy."
Lilly grinned in delight. "Thank you, mummy and daddy."
Levi kissed her cheek. "You're welcome."

Of Legends and Reality
Tumblr media
Summary: Commander Cody meets his assigned general, Obi-Wan Kenobi, for the first time. Growing up with legends of the Jedi gave Cody an image of the perfect warrior he'd carried for 10 years. The Jedi in front of him was not what he had in mind.
Notes: This ended up being an ode to Obi-Wan, but I mean, what doesn't. I have a HC I've held onto for awhile that the clones had these grand, mythical images of the Jedi in their minds because they only heard stories of them on Kamino, and then as each commander/captain meets their Jedi, that image is torn to pieces in the best way. Hope you enjoyed this meeting with Obi-Wan and Cody!

There were 3 things Cody was absolutely certain of:
He is a Marshal Commander in the Grand Army of the Republic, leader of the 212th, responsible for 1000s of his brothers
He is assigned to General Obi-Wan Kenobi, member of the Jedi Council, and a warrior of legend if the rumors were anything to listen to
His general just walked into a droid and apologized to it
Cody reported to the briefing room at exactly 0757 giving him three minutes to collect himself before meeting his assigned general. A current buzzed through the clone commander’s blood when he heard he was meeting his Jedi because, for 10 years, Cody and his brothers heard legends of the warriors they would one day serve under to protect the Republic, and, yet, Obi-Wan Kenobi impressively erased 10 years of legends in 20 seconds.
At 0759, the door to the briefing room opened, and Cody turned his attention to the figure walking in. First, he noticed that instead of being clad in head-to-toe armor, the man wore a simple tunic and pants spun from basic, beige fabric, brown leather boots, and a matching wide belt around his waist. An unimposing silver and black cylinder hung on his hip. The stranger continued to make his way into the room, but a GNK droid crossed his path, and instead of swerving out of the droid’s way, he ran right into the corner of it. The impact wasn’t enough to topple the droid over, but the man stumbled, planting his hands on top of the GNK to regain his balance.
“Apologies little one. I wasn’t watching where I was going,” The man said while he gave the droid a little pat.
“GONK GONK,” the droid waddled on its way.
Cody was thankful for the helmet hiding his face because he was sure his expression was an even mix of bewilderment and shock.
While growing up, entertainment wasn’t easy to come by on Kamino, and a favorite past time amongst the cadets was retelling the latest story from Kal Skirata. Skirata was one of the mandalorians Jango Fett recruited to assist with the training of the clone troopers, and true to his Mandalorian roots, he took the cadets under his wing, treating them like his children rather than just soldiers for cannon fodder. During their breaks, he’d gather them around and tell stories of his encounters with the Jedi, a circle of cadets hanging onto his every word, eyes brighter than twin suns. When training was finished for the day, imaginations running wild, the younglings would run to the barracks or mess hall, wherever their brothers were gathered, and reenact what they just heard.
Cody wasn’t immune to the fantasy, caught in the deep fascination of the force-wielders that had taken hold of his brothers. He’d never confess to it, but he and Wolffe would sneak into the supply closets, grab a couple brooms, and put on their best lightsaber duels. Bly walked in on them once. He only promised to keep quiet after Wolffe let him participate.
So, as it goes, an army raised in isolation grasped onto the legends of warriors with 10 years of time to conjure up images of the Jedi they’d call generals and commanders. Cody kep his image in mind. It wasn’t what was in front of him. Call him naïve, but he didn’t think a ruthless warrior who could take down any being in the galaxy while levitating the objects around them would be walking into GNK droids, let alone gently patting it with an apology.
Perhaps this wasn’t Obi-Wan. Maybe this was a messenger, a new Jedi in training, here to tell Cody that Obi-Wan was running late with council duties, on his way back from taking down a planet-wide coup he resolved single-handedly with nothing but his lightsaber and his wit.
But the man continued into the room, giving a look back at the GNK waddling to its destination, and then making his way around the table to Cody. His stride gave an illusion of sure confidence, but Cody’s training caught the miniscule hesitations in the swing of his arms and darting around of soft blue eyes that gave away the man’s nerves. Once again Cody found himself questioning if this was actually one of the steadfast legends he’d grown up hearing about.
The man came to a stop in front of him, a warm smile peaking from under a trimmed, ginger beard. Hand stretched out, those blue eyes focused on the T of Cody’s visor.
“Hello there. I’m Obi-Wan Kenobi. I’m to meet CC-2224 here, and seeing as you’re the only other person in the room, am I correct to assume that’s you?”
Fitting his hand with the Jedi’s, Cody responded, “Yes, sir. CC-2224 reporting for duty. It’s an honor to meet and serve with you, sir.”
As Cody spoke, he caught a faint grimace on Obi-Wan’s face that disappeared as quickly as it came.
“I apologize, Commander, I mean no disrespect by my question, but do you perhaps go by something besides a number? I understand the Kaminoans are efficient, and I’m happy to address you by whichever identity you choose, but I, well, addressing a being by a number seems, impersonal,” Obi-Wan stammered through his question, crimson rushing to his cheeks but sincerity in his eyes. Cody was stunned. Why would a commanding officer care about what they called him?
“The Kaminoans only address us by number, sir, but most troopers choose a name before shipping off. Sometimes it’s chosen by us, and sometimes it’s chosen by our brothers. You can call me Cody, sir.” Pride coating his words, he felt his mind relax when he saw the smile on the Jedi grow.
“Very well. Commander Cody, it’s an honor and pleasure to meet you. I imagine we’ll be spending a lot of time together over the unknown future. Although, I’m sorry that it’s come to this for us meeting each other.”
Obi-Wan was setting a record for number of times you can surprise someone in a minute. All of their lives, the clones were told it was their purpose to serve under the Jedi and protect the Republic – this was inevitable. Why was his general sorry that the inevitable was happening? That the very reason for Cody’s existence was in motion?
“Not to worry, sir. This is what –“
Obi-Wan quickly raised his hand to halt Cody, “Apologies again Commander, but by any chance you wouldn’t mind removing your helmet?”
Cody’s eyebrows furrowed in confusion, but his arms automatically reached up, grabbing hold of the bucket and lifting it off his head. Muscle instinct tucked it to his left side all the while trying to not give away his growing puzzlement. There were a million more of him, he was nothing to look at. He was quite literally created to die, copies of him in every corner of the GAR, and it didn’t matter if the Jedi in front of him knew his face or not.
“As I was saying, sir, this I what we were made for, my brothers and I. War is inevitable for us,” Cody simply explained.
He gave credit to the Jedi, Obi-wan was good at masking. To an untrained eye, he’d seem indifferent, but the sorrow in his eyes and quick down-twitch of his lips told Cody a different story. Obi-Wan was disturbed by what he heard.
“Ah, well. I’m sorry that’s the truth of your creation, Commander. I want to assure you though, you’re not,” Obi-Wan paused, eyes darting as he grasped what to say. “You’re not war fodder. Not to me. To any of us. The Jedi. You are men, and men I’m responsible for. I’m learning on the go, but be assured that the well being of your brothers, of our men, is my top priority. I will employ every strategy to ensure a victory for the Republic, but most importantly, a victory for them.”
The sky blue of Obi-Wan’s eyes transformed into stormy grey, as ruthless and firm as the sincerity in his pledge to the commander.
“That. That means a lot to me and my men, sir,” Cody felt his response weak compared to the conviction in Obi-Wan’s voice, but it was all he could think of as his brain continued to short circuit, adjusting to the reality introduced to him over the last few minutes.
“I look forward to meeting them.” A hand swept through long, ginger hair, pushing it behind an ear, and Obi-Wan took this time to look around the briefing room, seeming to take it in for the first time. “I’ll be honest with you Commander, this is all very new to me. I’m sure it comes as no surprise that diplomatic negotiations require different tactics than battles. Usually much shorter.” Obi-Wan gave a sly smirk.
“That may be so, sir, but rumor around the barracks is you’ve seen some impressive combat in the recent years. You could say the boys of the 212th are excited to serve under the only Jedi to face two Sith lords in a century. Please excuse their eager questions when they meet you. You might be the closest thing to a celebrity they have.”
If possible, the blush on Obi-Wan’s cheeks deepened to a red that would match the Corrie Guard’s armor. His left arm hugged around his waist while his right elbow rested atop its wrist, his hand resting under his chin, absentmindedly stroking his beard. The Jedi’s eyes thought the ground around Cody’s boots was the most interesting spot in the room, and the commander held in an astonished laugh as he realized the Jedi was embarrassed.
“Kal Skirata is one heck of a storyteller,” Cody thought.
Finding the scene in front of him too amusing, Cody remained quiet as Obi-Wan worked through what to say. His mouth opened and close, little stammers making their way past his lips, but he eventually worked his way to words.
“That’s, uh, very kind of you to say, Commander.” Obi-Wan rubbed the back of his neck. “They were, uh, duels of necessity. I try not to make a habit of engaging with Sith.”
“Either way, it’s still an honor, sir, and nothing to take lightly. I’m sure some of the boys will try to see those combat skills up close in the rec room,” Cody hoped his attempt at banter would put Obi-Wan at ease, and he was awarded with a soft chuckle, the Jedi back to stroking his beard.
“Not something I’m unfamiliar with. My padawan was always eager to mention to whoever would listen that he trains with the ‘Sith slayer’, as the other younglings nicknamed me. Always amusing how obvious little ones are when they think they’re being subtle. Not hard to eavesdrop when their idea of a whisper is a normal conversation.” As he spoke, Obi-Wan’s attention focused out the window that overlooked the Coruscant skyline. Fondness took root in his gaze, and Cody recognized it easily. Kamino wasn’t blankets and bedtime stories, but his brothers gave him memories scattered through his upbringing that prompted the same look the Jedi currently held.
“Padawan, sir? Not familiar with the term.” Cody decided to prolong this moment for the general, if not just for a little longer.
“Yes, padawan. I imagine it’s most similar to a cadet for what you’re familiar with. When Jedi are young, around 9 years old, they go through the trials and are appointed a Jedi master. Their teacher to show them the ways of the force, of being a Jedi, and perhaps most important, how to grow through life. I guess it’s the closest thing to a parent a Jedi will have,” Obi-Wan explained. “My padawan and I had a less traditional start. I won’t bore you with the details now, but Anakin and I grew past our rocky beginning together, and I trained him for 10 years. He was just knighted the other day – our graduation ceremony you could say – and now he’s leading a battalion.”
There wasn’t a lot for Cody to reference regarding traditional families given his non-traditional life, but as Obi-Wan spoke, still stroking his beard, staring out the window with a look of what Cody could only describe as adoration, it was clear to the commander that Anakin held a significant place in Obi-Wan’s heart. Adoration was replaced by a smirk when the Jedi’s focus was back on Cody.
“Granted, I hope that whomever he’s assigned to is ready for some, how shall I say, creative approaches to battle. Anakin means well, but he’s as headstrong as he is confident, and I’m fairly certain his confidence could fuel the entire Jedi Order.”
“Any chance you remember which battalion he’s assigned to, sir?” Cody asked.
“I believe the 501st is coming to mind.” Obi-Wan’s answer pulled a deep laugh from Cody.
“Oh, don’t worry, sir. Your padawan’s in good hands. In fact, based on your description, I think that might be a match made by the Maker itself. My brother CT-75, uh, Rex, is just as fond of unusual strategies as it sounds like your padawan is.”
“Oh goody, sounds like we’ll have some entertainment during this war,” Obi-Wan couldn’t hide the amusement in his tone. Cody let the ease that had taken over the interaction calm the remaining tension his body was harboring. A comfortable silence settled over the two while an ambience of scanner beeps filled the space, and Cody took this opportunity to take in the man in front of him.
Obi-Wan Kenobi wasn’t clad in sleek armor, walking as if one with the air, holding back the deadly grace of a Nexu. Most likely if you passed by him on the street, you wouldn’t spare him a second glance, mistaking him for a hermit or a beggar, but Cody was starting to think that maybe he missed the important bits of Skirata’s stories.
It was easy to understand why a young clone created from a warrior would hold onto legends of a single being taking down a whole rebellion. Of swords made from kyber, or of battles fought entirely with an invisible strength only the Jedi possessed. But he missed the compassion found in sparing lives, even those that didn’t deserve saving. He missed the determined will honed through decades, even centuries, of disciplined training. He missed the unconditional love for a galaxy that can be flawed and ugly, always finding the good beneath the seemingly endless layers of scum.
He realized those qualities, together in perfect balance, were the legends of his childhood, and standing before him in a beige tunic, without a single piece of armor in sight, minutes after walking into a GNK droid, was the perfect warrior.
A beep from Obi-Wan’s commlink startled both men out of their thoughts, and a quick tap to his wrist silenced the alarm. The Jedi looked up at Cody expectantly.
“It appears we must be on our way, Commander. We are to make our way to Christophsis for our first engagement.”
“Right away, sir. I just need to stop by the platform above us to check in on a brother. They’re meeting their general shortly.” Cody kept to himself it was Rex waiting, and he couldn’t wait to see Rex’s reaction to their generals’ connection.
“Can’t get rid of me so easily, little brother.”
Obi-Wan waved his hand dismissively as he turned to the door. “Of course, Commander. In the meantime, perhaps you could enlighten me to the story of how you received that scar. It looks like quite the event.” Sweat beaded on Cody’s forehead as images of supply-closet brooms and fake duels flashed in his mind.
As if they’d been practicing the dance for years, Cody and Obi-Wan fell into step, strides matching, side-by-side. It wasn’t often that you met legends. Even less often that those legends turned out to be greater than the stories. Taking note of any GNKs in their path, Cody walked with pride next to his general, looking forward to adding to the legends the cadets would be telling on Kamino. This time though, the legends will have a name. And that name is Obi-Wan Kenobi.

Bodypillow
The short story from the prompt game @cinnamon-mey tagged me in.
I chose the prompt "You're burning up".
Maybe I try the others as well ♥
Its not the best story I have ever written, but I still like it :)
I warn you: I'm a very tired person right now, so I'm sure there are some things that sound more off than usual.
Find the story under the cut!
Bodypillow
After being done with watering the sunflowers that danced with the soft winds, Nori went inside to cool down. She couldn’t be more thankful for the little garden Jackie had build for her.
But the heat still took a toll on her when she was outside for a longer time, so she used the time when no one beside her was home who could be bothered by colder temperatures. She turned up the AC and made herself comfy on the couch with snacks and a cold drink. Watching one comfort movie after another, she enjoyed her afternoon while she sometimes got visits from Nibbles who would make herself comfortable for a while, before she precedes her adventures in and outside the house. There was enough space to find something new every day. Jackie truly didn’t hold back with the money when he built this castle of his.
A loud bang ripped Nori out of her nap she unintentionally took. Looking around, she saw that it was already dark outside, and Nibbles was jumping down the couch to greet the people that were still arguing while roaming the house.
“Get a fucking snickers, Welles! You’re acting like an ass since the moment you opened your eyes. You have blue balls or something? Do I need to call you a joytoy to give you a good fuck?”
“Dios Mio, Val, can’t you shut your face for a moment?!”
“NO! I cannot! Not before you tell me what the fuck this was!”
It was a rare thing that people in this household were fighting. Maybe some arguments between a mother and one of her children because one parked like a gonk and blocked the driveway, or when someone wouldn’t do their chores. But this sounded more serious.
Between the fighting, Valeries voice changed to baby talk when Nibbles walked in on them. She told her beloved cat how much she missed her and how adorable she was, asking her how her day was while Val carried her around like a baby. And Nibbles loved it. Pampered little kitty.
Jackie must have been in a really bad mood, his voice was way louder and you could feel how the air changed. He learned from Nori to be more open with his emotions, but an angry Jackie was still something you don’t see often. Annoyed, yes. Angry, not so much. She could hear how he threw his Jacket on the kitchen island; she would recognize the sound of it everywhere, and that he was making his way to the couch on which she was laying.
As she looked up, she saw Jackie who stood behind the couch and was massaging the bridge of his nose, seemingly annoyed by the angry woman that yelled at him from the kitchen. He looked tired and exhausted.
“ ‘cause I didn’t like this motherfuckers face ‘lright? El pendejo… He was jus’ fucking with us! This puss-“ He finally noticed the woman who was laying under his nose. “Sorry… we’re you sleepin’?”
“I think so.” She answered with a raspy, tired voice. “Is everything alright?”
“No its not!” Vals voice got louder and clearer as she got close to the two of them. “We went to get some old-people-vintage shit for Viks birthday. And you know what this full-on-diva-gonk did?! What did you do Jackie? Tell her what the fuck you did!”
A sigh came from the big man who was now leaning with his elbows on the back of the couch, still massaging his nose bridge.
“Punched him.”
“AND?!”
“… threw him into the trash.”
“He punched him because he says he didn’t like his face! How should I get my hands on that shit now, Welles? I can’t show my face to him again! This is a fucking rare shit and I looked MONTHS for it!”
Val wasn’t a person to get angry at friends, but right now, she was, and it was visible that both weren’t really happy about it. Her emotions juggle between “God I want to punch him.” To “I don’t wanna be angry at him” by the second.
“We’ll find somethin’ else for him… ‘ts not as if he only likes this kinda thing.”
“But I wanted THIS for him!” Val yelled while stumping her foot. “God! I really wanna punch you so bad! I can’t even look at you. I’m out!”
It didn’t take long, and the slam of the gym door could be heard.
“Dios mio…” Jackie sighted. “What a mess…”
“Are you alright? You don’t look too well.”
“I’m fuckin’ tired…”
“Wanna take a nap with me?”
He didn’t think too long about her offer and came around the couch. Just that he didn’t lay down on the couch, he laid down on top of her. Resting his head on her chest.
Nori was surprised and afraid to move. Since he brought her back, he held his distance. Sure, they hugged from time to time, he did carry her when her body was too weak to walk up the stairs again when she came down for a change of pace. He felt bad for her, and she knew it.
He didn’t want to wake some hope that there could be something between them. He was sure that she only fell in love with and was so fixated on him because he was the first person who was nice to her, so he wanted to give her the freedom to meet new people and find love. It was awkward and strange at first. She knew that there wouldn’t be the same relationship between them like in the donum, but it still did hurt. All this made it even more special that he was now resting on her.
After a short thinking of what to do, she decided to not make a big deal of it, playing it cool.
“What’s wrong Jackie?” She asked, making his head turn so he faced her. “Its not like you to punch random people, even if you are in a bad mood.”
While her hands caressed his face, he looked at her, fighting to hold his eyes open.
“He wannet to fuck with us… Bet he doesn’t even have this shit. He annoyed me…”
She looked at him with concern. He wouldn’t punch them. He would tell them that he thinks that they are lying would leave them alone. Except they asked for it. Something that wasn’t a rare thing in NC.
“Jackie, you’re burning up. Could it be that you have a fever? Are you not feeling well? Did Amata write you something?”
“I’m fine… Just a headache.” He wasn’t fine and it probably wasn’t just a headache. She could see how pearls of sweat formed on his forehead, his cheeks were red, and his eyes looked glossy. His eyelids seemed to get heavier by the second as well.
“You sure? You know you can tell me. I’m literally made to take care of people when they aren’t feeling well.”
“I’m good. I’m just…” Another heavy sigh came from him “tired.”
She didn’t want to spoil this moment by annoying him with care.
“Alright, then let’s take a nap. I bet everything will be better after one. And afterwards, we get some good food.” She told him with a soft smile, caressing his head. Jackie nodded and turned his head, so he was laying more comfortable on the softness of her chest. It didn’t take long, and he was snoring away.
While laying there, she couldn’t help but think that he was horribly adorable right now. Its been so long since they had such a close moment. So much happened since the last time. Her heart felt like it could burst any moment from the happiness that filled it right now. She hoped that her racing heart wouldn’t reach him and wake him up.
She caressed him with soft, gentle touches while she watched him closely. Taking in the moment to the fullest, in case that it would never happen again.
“Well… if this isn’t a familiar scene.” Valerie said with a broad smile as she came back after letting off steam and as it seems a needed shower. “You okay. Isn’t he crushing you.”
“He is.” Nori said with a warm smile, stroking his temple. “But I love it.”
Val returned that smile of hers. She knew that Nori was still deeply in love with him and that she was hurt by his actions every day, but was keeping up a smile. Right now, Nori looked so calm and at peace with the world. A compassioned, loving smile on her face, not having a care in the world.
“Valerie, I think he’s sick. Maybe that’s why he acted out like this.”
“Probably. I noticed that he didn’t look so good, so I wanted to make it quick. But… well... he made it quicker… You’re pretty happy right now, huh?”
The little woman who almost disappeared under the big guy turned red.
“I am. But I feel bad. He isn’t feeling well and I’m here, close to tears because I can finally have him close to me thanks to that… I feel so selfish…”
“You know… He wouldn’t do something like that if he didn’t want to. Not even thanks to a cold. I think he still likes you in a deeper way and just… can’t get over it. I mean, you two just had a really strange start, making the road a little bumpy. Would be way too boring if it was easy, huh?”
Nori looked from Val to the snoring man, wishing that her friend was right. When she came back, she somehow felt like a widow. Even though Jackie was right there, he felt so far away. Her heart wasn’t ready to let him go at all. She had the feeling that no one ever could touch her heart in such a way. And didn’t need to. There was no need inside her to meet someone knew who could take his place. It was like her heart said “We’re good now. We had love, we lost it. That is okay. We don’t need more.” In a wise, calm way.
“Don’t worry… We’ll get your relationship back to how it was… Okay?” Valerie assured her friend by stroking her blonde hair.
She nodded with a faint smile. Luck wasn’t a big thing in her life till know. Making the life she was living right now even more unbelievable and frightening to her. Like it could taken away any second. So she had the feeling she shouldn’t ask for more than what she had right now. It felt selfish and too much.
“Maybe… Vincent and I could buy this thing for you. I’m sure we can work this out. The seller doesn’t have to know that we know you.”
Val smiled happily at her friend. Clearly liking the idea.
~
Two days later, Nori and Vincent walked through the door and got greeted by a happy Valerie who was awaiting the goods.
But the moment she looked at the two of them, she knew something was off.
“What?... What’s wrong?”
“Well…” Nori started, looking a short moment at Vince, then down to her fiddling hands. “It.. didn’t went like expected.”
“That.. means?”
“It could be that Vince… punched the guy and threw him into a open manhole…”
“…. WHAT?!”
The merc shrugged.
“He wanted to scam us. He didn’t have that thing.”
“TOLD’CHA!” Jackie yelled from the kitchen, followed by a loud sneeze.
“SHUT IT AND DRINK YOUR TEA!”
Another sneeze followed her command.
~
After this, Jackie begun to seek Noris touch a bit more often. Step by step.
And she did catch his cold.
As she was laying in bed, remembering the sweet times she was able to breath through her nose, she thought to herself:
“Worth it.”
End!

17 & 34 dealer's choice
For @ghostoffuturespast. Thanks for asking! The picker wheel selected Chet Reid, my newest male OC.
You can find the questions at the link below.
Tumblr media
Chet
Chet DeShea Reid is a former NUS Army soldier, qualified sniper, and current boyfriend of Valerie Ocampo-Gonzalez.
[17] how did they spend their summers/free time as a child?
Chet's parents were both in the Air Force. That meant that neither would be home by the time school finished, they were still at work. Chet and the other air force brats would launch elaborate games of hide and seek, which often took them into areas of the base children were not supposed to go to. This led to the base's SFs getting involved. Rather than lock the children up and charge their parents/guardians as they were supposed to under the base regulations, the SFs (who weren't doing much anyway) decided to turn the game into an extended lesson on camouflage and concealment.
They would play hide and seek with the kids, patrolling the base with the kids acting as the red team. If they evaded detection before 1730 (when Chet's parents finished work for the day) then the kids would be allowed to play tomorrow. If they were caught, they'd get arrested and taken to the air base command post (ABCP) where their parents would have to pick them up and sign for them from the SFs. Chet learned a lot about camouflage and concealment from these games, and would eventually bring that into the Army with him when he enlisted out of high school.
[34] how would your character describe themselves? it doesn't have to line up with how they really are.
Chet would likely describe himself as a gonk. Not just a gonk, a massive gonk. A colossal gonk, even. He was allured to the NUS Army by promises of being part of something greater. Instead he was used, first by Elizabeth Kress, and then by Rosalind Myers, for an imperialist war against the Free States. Chet is not proud of his past. At the same time, he feels trapped by his military past - he became a mercenary because he feels that he's only really good at one thing: killing.
There's one person who knows Chet as well as, if not better, than himself - Val. Val sees a different person, someone capable of more than taking a life.
Thanks once again for the questions!

Episode 12 of the bad batch
One day. One day I'll write video essay on this series and it'll just be me struggling not to say "mediocre" and "grand waste of animation" over and over
Oh her name is eleni
Given everything rampart is a solid antagonist. Altho I guess it's because the Kaminoans (Nala se) are being rehabilitated? Almost. And rampart just got that Cunning Patient Energy that characters in his position tend to have.
I'm not sure his undercut goes low enough lol
Oh I've always loved chopper
I love when they get like normie ass voices for side characters theyre a breath of fresh air in this show
Why do they have the gonk droid? Is he just like a pet?
Also lmao @ "he's a defective unit" I see this was meant to be like a "we collect defects this is the misfit club" Emotional Line. Too bad it didn't work because they went out of their way in the first like 3 episodes to make sure we don't understand them as defective. At all. In fact that they're multiply enhanced and better than everyone on purpose.
GIRL NO YOIRE NOT?????? YOURE NKT DEFECTIVE AAAHHHH--
Tech pls. "Children often overreact" bc......you have so much experience w children lol
Also how does "the empire took my parents" sound like an overreaction
Yeah this is what Omegas arcs tend to be--convincing tbb to help other people. I can see how this would be written as a Good Conflict to consistently have, as one could argue tbbs lack of concern for other folks and their unwillingness to help others stems from them originally doing that with regs all the damn time so no they're self centered as a default. Like I can see how that could be a potential understanding here but unforch the execution of it :/
Assassination attempt? I thought he was dead
The rare presentation of hunters special senses
I wonder how they divide the sectors
They. Always have Hunter at the worst angles for his close ups he's always got his head bent but eyes upward like he's looking at something while Posing idk
Hunter has a point and omega has a point wow. The most like. Moral ambiguity we get in this series so far
Meilooruns!
Now crosshair is gonna feel the need to prove himself since it's been implied that howzer (a reg) might replace him for this job and be proven to be better than him. If the series could lean in more to Crosshairs insecurity issues (at least they look like that to me) it would be massively improved
Brother? Him? Yeah Hera yeah....
But this is literally the first time Omega calls them her brothers.
Nice use of a pause I think
This is some of the most emotional VAing I've heard from this man in literal years.
I like that Echo and Tech are taking her seriously
I think Hunters face model is just weird
I wish they'd do a wider variety of body types for bg characters
The way chopper moves is so fnsndnaksnaka
Pls he's so violent
How is Echo climbing??
Omega needs kids her age to be conniving friends w I feel like she should get into trouble
I just have to tune out techs British accent
Not him closing the curtain fansbaknsajaj
"I should have stopped this sooner" is kinda crazy because he's one guy like
Look at crosshair underestimating his enemy 😊
Chips having a wear off is an interesting mechanic. As dehumanizing as this show can be to the regs the ability for them to get their humanity back is nice
I think Hera might just be tall for her age
Crosshair having a whole face journey and I am not deciphering a single part of it. Seemed like conviction and hesitation in equal measure

Sorry this is late, I’ve been a little busy for the past few weeks and haven’t really had time to work on any fics, but I’m glad I was able to finish this. Here’s Chapter 3 of my Bad Batch fic Older Sister. I recommend reading Chapter 1 and Chapter 2 before this.
Warnings: spoilers for Bad Batch, contains depiction of mental illness/trauma (briefly mentioned in the context of a 4/5yr old experiencing O66), lemme know if I need to add more
*Takes place during the 2nd half of the Ryloth Arc (ep12 Rescue on Ryloth)*
Older Sister
CHAPTER 3
Tech is piloting the Marauder through space with Echo in the copilot seat with Hunter and Wrecker behind them. Omega is showing Maisy how to repair Gonky’s prime power source, trying to get her mind off of telling Hunter about giving out their personal information. Omega takes the spanner and accidentally fries Gonky’s control panel briefly with a small zap of electricity. Smoke sizzles and Gonky beeps. Maisy gasps and Omega’s eyes widen.
“Uh-oh-“ Omega says.
“What’s going on here?” Hunter asks, looking between the 2 girls and the gonk droid.
“Gonky’s prime power source won’t fully charge. I’m showing Maisy how to fix it,” Omega explains and the Youngling nods happily.
“You can’t. He’s a defective unit,” Hunter explains, putting a hand on Omega’s shoulder before walking back to the cockpit. Gonky’s low-pitched beep sounds sad.
“Don’t worry, we’re defective too,” Omega assures the droid. That’s when an alerting beep sounds, getting Tech’s attention. He turns in his chair to look back at Hunter.
“We are receiving a recorded transmission, but I do not recognize this frequency,” Tech tells the sergeant.
“Patch it through,” Hunter says and Tech does so.
A hologram of Hera, kneeling, appears.
“Omega-Maisy-it’s Hera. You have to come back to Ryloth,” Hera says urgently. Maisy’s eyes widen and she gasps quietly.
“Isn’t she the kid from the weapons drop?” Wrecker asks, recognizing the young female Twi’lek. Omega hurries forward with Maisy trailing after her.
“Hera?” Omega asks.
“The Empire’s taken my parents, and they’re after me now too,” Hera warns, “I’m sending coordinates. Please hurry. I need your help,” Hera pleads. Hunter looks at the girls and judging by Maisy’s guilty face and she’s trying to hide behind Omega, tells Hunter everything he needs to know. He looks at the Youngling, who’s clinging to Omega’s thigh. He sighs.
“You gave her our comm channel?” Hunter asks accusingly. Maisy’s grip on Omega tightens and she steps in front of the girl as if to protect her from Hunter.
“For emergencies, and that sounded pretty urgent,” Omega argues, “we have to go.”
“Perhaps the situation is not as dire as described. Children often overreact,” Tech interjects, getting their attention.
“No we don’t!” Omega and Maisy reply simultaneously, as if taking the comment personally.
“You heard her. She needs us,” Omega insists, looking back at Hunter.
“Girls, it’s a big galaxy,” Hunter says, gently placing both hands on one of both girls’ shoulders.
“We can’t put ourselves on the line every time someone’s in trouble,” Hunter says.
“Why not? Isn’t that what soldiers do?” Omega asks, causing the sergeant to falter slightly.
“You helped me when I needed someone…why can’t we help Hera?” Maisy asks. Hunter looks to the others for help and they all cannot meet his look.
“Well I suppose the girls do have a point,” Tech comments. Hunter nods and looks to Echo, who nods as well. The ARC trooper had heard of Ryloth mostly from the 212th. This wasn’t like Raxus, though with the Imperial occupation, it might as well have been.
“Tech, plot a course with the coordinates Hera sent,” Hunter orders and Tech nods before the ship flies back to Ryloth.
They fly through the atmosphere and head down to the rocky surface, heading towards a small canyon.
Tech weaves through the rocky walls to get to a well hidden, lit space that is clearly the rendezvous.
“C’mon,” Omega tells Maisy as the ship finishes landing and the door opens. The girls walk down the stairs first with the rest of the Batch following behind.
Omega and Maisy look around for Hera as they walk, when a droid beeps, making his presence known. The girls watch as Chopper, Hera’s droid friend hurries towards them, waving his droid hands. Omega stops the orange, yellow and white droid before he could slam into the Youngling.
“What’s his problem?” Wrecker asks as Omega pushes Maisy back slightly.
“Thank you for coming,” Hera announces as she steps forward.
“I wasn’t sure you would,” Hera admits.
“You said you were in trouble,” Omega says before Hunter steps forward.
“Care to tell us why the Empire is after you?” Hunter asks the young Twi’lek girl.
“Because my father is Cham Syndulla,” Hera tells the sarge.
“The freedom fighter?” Tech asks, clearly having heard the name before.
“Yes. This was his old command outpost. It’s where I’ve been hiding. The Empire’s begun targeting anyone loyal to him,” Hera explains since the Batch left before everything went down.
“What do you want us to do?” Echo asks.
“Free my parents from the Capitol. That’s where they’re being held,” Hera tells the ARC trooper. They all share an unsure, uncertain look.
“They can pay you if you get them out,” Hera adds hastily, sensing that the soldiers aren’t on board yet.
“Please? I don’t have anyone else to ask,” Hera begs. Maisy immediately nods determined, though Omega looks up at Hunter, hoping he’d agree.
But when Hunter just has his arms crossed over his chest, Omega decides to approach her friend. The young clone nods at Hera and Maisy keeps pushing his leg slightly.
“Say yes Hunter. Say yes,” Maisy whispers. Hunter shuts his eyes before looking down at the Youngling and then at the older girls.
“Let’s see what we’re up against first. But no guarantees,” Hunter adds when the girls light up. Omega frowns slightly at Hunter’s hastily added warning. Hera’s face falls and Maisy pouts, crossing her scrawny arms over her chest.
Memories of what happened before meeting Omega and the Bad Batch flash through Maisy’s mind. In her desperate time of need, she wished she had someone help her. Of course T8-02, the droid that helped her escape Coruscant is the whole reason she’s alive, but the girl wished she had someone to talk to besides the droid. But they were all killed by clones. Maisy remembers how she cried out for help, begging, pleading, until she ran into the maintenance droid. The helplessness, even now, feels so real and Maisy wouldn’t wish the feeling on her worst enemies. She knows this must be how Hera’s feeling, wanting to save her family. That’s what Maisy had wanted to. To save her Master and the other Younglings she considered to be siblings. Feeling tears well in her eyes, Maisy stomps her feet lightly as she walks up to Hera and Omega before wordlessly reaching out and hugging Hera’s legs tightly, unable to keep the tears from falling.
“Maisy? What’s wrong?” Omega asks. Maisy sniffles wetly and presses her face into Hera’s thigh with her arms wrapped as far as she can around the older Twi-lek girl.
“Hera needs us…can’t leave them…hafta help,” is all the little girl says. Hera blinks at the little girl wrapped around her right thigh before shifting the girl so she can kneel down properly hug her. The Twi’lek feels the little girl shaking a bit with emotion. Hera shares a look with Omega, who shrugs slightly, not knowing what brought on this sudden wave of emotion. Hunter approaches and gently places a hand on Maisy’s back, causing the Youngling to look up at the sergeant.
“Let’s see what we’d be dealing with,” Hunter suggests, repeating what he said earlier. Maisy sniffles wetly and swipes her hand under her nose before wiping away her tears with her sleeves before nodding.
“Ok,” the Youngling says. Omega gives the girl a small smile that the Maisy tries to return, but it’s more sad before Omega offers her hand to the younger girl. Maisy takes Omega’s hand and they all gather around to figure out the best vantage point.
After a bit of hiking, the group finds a good, high vantage point to look down on the Capitol. Chopper has his scanner out and is playing the local broadcast. It’s Admiral Rampart.
“But the perpetrators of this heinous assassination attempt have been captured,” the man says.
“Assassination attempt?” Hunter asks, lowering his binocs, glancing at Hera.
“Rest assured, Cham Syndulla and his insurgents will answer for their betrayal-” the man over the transmission continues.
“That’s not what happened!” Hera argues when the soldiers look at her.
“Hunter…Crosshair’s here,” Omega warns the sergeant. Maisy had heard of Crosshair, mostly from Omega and Wrecker. He’s the group’s 5th brother, a sniper, but Omega told her they were separated and now wants to work for the Empire. Maisy wished she could’ve gotten to know Crosshair and Omega assured her that once they rescue him, they’ll get to be friends too.
Hunter uses his binocs to look down on the crowded square until he spots his lean, slightly lanky brother in all black armor with a lighted visor and his signature sniper blaster.
“Great. Just what we need,” Wrecker comments before Hunter motions for them to move out with a simple finger circle. The boys all move out while the girls just exchange a worried glance before staying to keep a look out.
“The plasma bridge into the city’s been deactivated,” Hunter says.
“Well, I say we fly in and blow our way out,” Wrecker suggests.
“The Capitol scanners would detect our ship,” Tech argues, “I don’t like the look of this.”
“The troop presence here is similar to that of Raxus,” Tech adds.
“This is a military occupation-“ Tech says.
“Ryloth’ s not a Separatist planet,” Echo interrupts, arguing.
“Exactly my point,” Tech tells him.
Unaware to the group at first, a probe droid lurks behind the rock pillar, spying on the Bad Batch. Hunter senses a change in the air. To him, it’s a metallic smell along with slight pressure between his eyes. Not enough to cause a headache, but enough to get his attention. He glances to the side.
“Wait here,” Hunter tells the rest of them, motioning for his brothers to stay put.
The probe droid spies on Echo, Wrecker and Tech, still gathered and appearing to be talking. The droid zooms in on them just as Hunter drops down from climbing the rock pillar and grabs the probe droid. He pulls out his vibroknife and stabs the probe droid’s main eye. It beeps, sparking a bit and falls to the ground with Hunter landing beside it. The girls gasp and see the destroyed probe droid behind them. Hunter pulls out the knife and sheaths it back on his forearm.
“Oh good, a probe droid,” Tech says sarcastically. The girls and Chopper gather around the destroyed droid.
“The Empire will know we’re here,” Tech warns.
“And so will Crosshair. C’mon, let’s move,” Hunter says. Maisy, remembering the clones that turned on her and the other Jedi, quickly follows the boys and Omega grabs Hera’s wrist.
“Come on,” Omega says and pulls Hera along with her as she runs to catch up. Chopper chatters and rolls after Hera.
Meanwhile…
Crosshair is patrolling the square when one of his new squad mates approach.
“Command received a transmission from a probe droid in sector 5,” they tell Crosshair, handing him a data pad. The sniper takes it and watches the recorded video. Because the droid is focused on Echo, Wrecker and Tech, Crosshair is oblivious to Omega, Maisy and Hera.
Crosshair glances up at the rock pillar that he knows is in sector 5. That’s where they were…they were here, Crosshair thinks. He knows after his meeting with his brothers on Bracca that there’s little chance that they’d actually try and rescue him. But a small part of him, deep, deep down…had hoped that they were here for him. It’s not like it was his choice to get taken when they were imprisoned on Kamino. Hunter had wanted to go back for…for some girl he didn’t even know…but not for his own brother.
“Keep patrolling. I’ll report this to Admiral Rampart,” Crosshair orders his squad mate, who nods as Crosshair walks away.
The Batch manage to fly back to the abandoned outpost where they met Hera and get away without hassle.
“All my father wanted was peace on Ryloth,” Hera says, her arms crossed, “Why is this happening?” She asks.
“He’s a voice the people stand behind. That makes him a threat to the Empire,” Echo tells the Twi’lek girl.
“I don’t care about any of that. I just want my parents back,” Hera says. Chopper chatters and skips the steps with his rocket as Tech follows the droid.
“We’re all over the Imperial comm channels,” Tech announces, “They’ve increased patrols within the city.”
“Crosshair will expect an attack,” Hunter says, “The element of surprise is gone. There’s nothing we can do,” Hunter says. Maisy’s eyes widen.
“Wait! You can’t leave!” Hera begs.
“I told you no guarantees,” Hunter argues.
“We’ll get you off world and take you some place safe,” Hunter tells Hera.
“Stop!” Hera pleads, grabbing Hunter’s right forearm, causing him to stop and look at the girl.
“I’ll pay you double!” She begs.
“All the money in the galaxy won’t matter if we’re dead,” Hunter argues, glancing at Omega and Maisy. Ever since the Batch adopted Maisy, he had told Cid that no matter the job, the girls had to come first, especially since they were all 99% sure Maisy’s a Jedi.
“What you’re asking us to do, it’s not worth the risk,” Hunter tells Hera. Maisy gasps and Omega frowns slightly at the sergeant.
“Not to you,” Hera argues before walking away.
“Hera! Wait!” Maisy exclaims and hurries after the Twi’lek and her droid.
“You shouldn’t have said that,” Omega scrutinizes Hunter before hurrying after Maisy and their new friend.
“Being strategic means knowing your limitations, Omega,” Hunter argues.
“She’s trying to save her family Hunter. I’d do the same for you,” Omega tells him before walking off to the 2 girls, leaving Hunter to think on Omega’s words. Hunter turns around and heads back to the ship to talk with the rest of the squad while the girls talk with Hera.
“Hunter didn’t mean it,” Maisy tries telling Hera, who’s sitting on the ground with her legs pulled up. Chopper beeps at his Twi’lek friend before she sighs and turns to him.
“I don’t need a lecture Chop,” she says. He beeps again.
“I didn’t give up! He did!” Hera argues with her droid.
“Hunter means well,” Omega says, approaching the 3 of them.
“I know you’re scared, but don’t give up. He’ll come around,” Omega tells Hera.
“Why do you trust him so much?” Hera asks Omega.
“Because he’s my brother,” she explains.
“Brother? Him?” Hera asks and she nods.
“They all are,” Omega tells her.
“You’re lucky,” Hera says sadly. Omega walks up and kneels down in front of Hera and Maisy, facing the Twi’lek.
“You can trust them too. All we need to do is think of a plan and convince Hunter,” Omega says.
“Omega’s right,” Maisy agrees.
“Why would he listen to me?” Hera asks.
“Because it’s strategic. Ryloth is your home. You know it better than us,” Omega explains.
“Yes…I do,” Hera agrees. Chopper chatters and rotates his head back and forth as if shaking it.
The 3 girls and Chopper head back onto the Marauder to talk with the rest of the squad about their plan.
“Attack the Capitol? Wh—That was my plan!” Wrecker says.
“Not the Capitol. The Imperial refinery on the outskirts,” Omega corrects.
“I’ve been spying on their activity,” Hera says as Chopper projects a holographic map of the refinery, highlighting points of interest. The boys all gather around to listen to the plan.
“I know their routine. If we attack there, reinforcements will be diverted from the Capitol,” Hera says.
“We can use that distraction to rescue Hera’s parents,” Omega says glancing at Hera with a smile.
“Any heavy defenses at the refinery?” Echo asks.
“5 perimeter cannons, but they are unmanned,” Hera answers, pointing them out on the holographic map.
“Auto cannons are extremely vulnerable. Where is the control console?” Tech asks.
“Right inside the main gate,” Hera says, pointing at the main gate.
“It is heavily guarded but Chopper can slip inside with the other droids and disable the cannons,” Hera explains. Hunter thinks about the plan as Hera looks at him, nervous.
“All right. You 3 go with Chopper as backup, but at a distance,” Hunter says, stressing that last part. The girls all brighten in excitement and surprise.
“Really?” They all ask simultaneously.
“By themselves?” Tech asks with that ‘are you crazy’ undertone to his voice. Hunter nods.
“Omega, you’re in charge. I’m counting on you to keep an eye on Maisy,” Hunter says and she nods.
“And Maisy, you follow Omega’s orders like they’re my own, understand? Don’t question Omega and stay close to her at all times,” Hunter says. If he’s being honest, he’d rather Maisy stay on the ship with Tech and Wrecker, but there is a chance that they’d get shot down and the girls would be hiding, safe. And he also wants to see if Omega can handle the responsibility. Maisy nods.
“Yes sir,” she replies.
“Tech, Wrecker, wait until those cannons are down and move in. Echo and I will scale the Capitol wall and free Hera’s parents,” Hunter tells them before looking at Hera.
“I guess we’ll follow your lead,” he says. She nods once at the sergeant.
Tech drops the girls off on a ridge that overlooks the refinery. It’s a good vantage point for looking at the main gate. Hera and Omega both have binocs, but Maisy pretends with her hands cupped around her eyes. Chopper has already made his way closer to the refinery.
“We are in position,” Hera says on her comms to Chopper.
A ship lands and Twi’leks and droids step out. The girls watch as clones point them towards the main gate, unaware Chopper is among the droids, but he quickly splits off from the group and goes around in the shadows.
“What’s going on?” Maisy whispers, nudging Omega, though Omega just waves a hand at the girl to be quiet. Maisy pouts. She wants to be helpful too, but without a pair of binocs, she can’t really tell what’s happening. Hunter didn’t have another extra pair, the one he did have is now Omega’s and Hera just had the one pair.
“They’re approaching the checkpoint,” Omega says and Maisy blinks and looks. All see sees are little dots walking towards the gate.
“Get ready Chop,” Hera tells her droid.
Omega and Hera watch through their binocs as Chopper casually joins the group. He rolls with the droids and they make it through. Chop makes sure no one is paying attention before veering off from the group to find the control console.
Chop slows to a stop when he spots the console. He beeps when he sees an astromech droid at the console. Careful to approach from behind, Chopper uses the shadows and comes up right behind the droid at the console and electrocutes it before pushing it out of the way. Chopper sticks in his scomp and plugs in. He beeps worriedly over the comms.
“What do you mean it won’t work? You said you could disable the cannons!” Hera argues. Maisy and Omega’s eyes widen.
“I think I see him!” Maisy points. She sees the orange top of Chopper’s head in the distance before spotting 2 white dots approaching. Clone troopers!
“We have to help Chopper,” Hera insists. Maisy looks down at the white dots that are clone troopers and shuts her eyes, focusing. She takes a few breaths before reaching her right arm out.
“Maisy? What’re you doing?” Hera asks. Omega looks down at Maisy and watches in confusion.
“Maisy?” Omega asks. She watches Maisy make a face as if she’s trying….trying hard. At what, the older girls do not know, until Omega looks through her binocs.
“W-Wait—“ Omega says, noticing the troopers with Chop suddenly stop and they suddenly drop their guns and their hands come up to their necks and start grasping at some invisible pain. Hera notices as well. Even Chopper realizes something’s wrong when he sees the 2 troopers acting weird.
“What is happening?!” Hera asks worriedly. Omega looks at Maisy and her eyes widen when she realizes that..somehow…Maisy is doing this.
“Maisy! Maisy stop!” Omega says, shaking the girl, making the younger girl lose her concentration. Maisy drops her arm tiredly and seems to pant with exhaustion. When Omega looks back at the clone troopers through her binocs, she sees them gasping for air, with their helmets off, their hands around their necks. Omega frowns and looks down at Maisy. She’ll definitely have to tell Hunter about that.
“I’m..sorry…I didn’t mean to…I wanted to help-“ Maisy says.
“Sshh, sshh, it’s ok. We’ll get Chop, but first, we need to take the console off-line,” Omega assures the younger girl who she considers to be her little sister. Maisy nods.
“Uh-how are we gonna do that?” Hera asks Omega.
“With one of those,” Omega says, pointing to the shuttles.
“You said you wanted to be a pilot, right?” Omega asks.
“Yeah?” Hera replies unsure.
“Well—come on!” Omega says. Hera nods as Omega grabs Maisy’s hand and the girls hurry down towards the shuttle landing area.
The girls manage to sneak in and hide underneath a landing platform.
“My parents would never approve of this plan,” Hera whispers.
“We won’t tell if you won’t,” Omega says and Maisy nods in agreement before peeking out.
“We’re clear,” Maisy tells them and they hurry out and run up the open platform and into the ship, taking the lift up to the cockpit.
Hera takes the pilot seat while Omega and Maisy take the gunners mount. Suddenly, Omega’s comm beeps.
“Omega, has Chopper deactivated the perimeter cannons?” Tech asks over the comms.
“No…but we’re working on it. Just don’t shoot down our shuttle,” Omega says.
“Wait-what shuttle?” Tech asks, but Hera starts the take off process.
“Here we go,” Hera says. She jerks the stick and the ship suddenly veers off to the side, slamming into the other parked ships. People scream and start running out of the way, trying to avoid getting hit.
“Gah!” Maisy yelps and slams into Omega accidentally. The ship spins out of control.
“Sorry!” Hera exclaims and manages to straighten out before heading over to Chopper.
“We’ve got a security breach! Unauthorized launch from shuttle 2!” A warning sounds over the intercom. Hera manages to stop and hover in front of the 2 clones that Maisy had Force-choked and while they’re blinded from the headlights, Chopper manages to shock them.
“GAH! AHHH!” They cry out in pain before collapsing on the ground. Hera lines up the front gun and blasts the control center, making an explosion. The perimeter cannons all deactivate and turn off.
“I’ll get him!” Maisy says and hurries back down the lift. Hera opens the cargo bay door and Maisy reaches out.
“C’mon Chop!” She says and the droid uses his rocket booster to fly up and inside. Maisy shuts the door.
“Got him!” She calls up. Hera hears and flies off.
“Omega, I’m registering multiple explosions near the refinery,” Tech says over the comms, worried.
“That was us. Cannons are down. Do some damage Wrecker,” Omega says.
Wrecker laughs and gets into position as Tech approaches in the Marauder.
“Hang on!” Tech calls to Wrecker before immediately flooring the ship.
“Woah!” Wrecker exclaims, jerking around a bit, but he manages to hold himself steady. Tech pulls back once they get close to the first cannon and turns the ship, lining Wrecker’s gun at it. Wrecker lines up his shot easily and fires, destroying the cannon.
Tech flies around the perimeter of the refinery so Wrecker can hit each cannon. The clones down below obviously call for reinforcements from the Capitol.
Meanwhile…
An alarm beeps and Admiral Rampart hurries out just as his door whooshes open. Captain Howzer rushes into Admiral Rampart’s office.
“The Refinery is under attack-“ Captain Howzer warns, helmet in his arm at his waist.
“I’ll handle it. Stay here and guard the Capitol,” Rampart orders the clone captain as he brushes past him.
At the same time, Echo and Hunter manage to get to the Syndulla’s cell, knocking out the clone troopers guarding it. The Syndullas and Gobi all share a glance. Echo hurries over to the control panel and hacks in, disabling the red ray shield door. Gobi’s eyes widen when he recognizes the clones in their black and red armor.
“What are you doing here?” Gobi asks.
“Breaking you out,” Hunter answers.
“You know them?” Cham Syndulla, Hera’s father, asks his friend.
“They are mercenaries—but I didn’t hire them for this,” Gobi explains.
“Hera did,” Hunter explains.
“Hera? Where is she? Is she safe?” Cham asks, worried and concerned about his daughter. While Hunter didn’t know specifically, the fact that reinforcements were sent to the refinery must’ve meant the plan went along as planned. He nods at Cham and motions for the Twi’leks to follow them out.
Speaking of Hera…
“We’re getting the hang of this,” Hera says as she flies through the air above the exploding refinery.
“Yes, your dangerous and uncontrolled maneuvering is as confusing it is to them as it is to us,” Tech replies.
Admiral Rampart has given orders to Crosshair and his squad to go defend the refinery. The sniper jogs, following his squad to the shuttle when he suddenly stops and thinks. The refinery is on the outskirts and holds no military or strategic value. Why would CF99 attack it-unless—
“Stop,” Crosshair orders. His squad turns around to look at him.
“The admiral said to protect the refinery,” one argues.
“That’s not their target,” Crosshair realizes.
“Then why are they attacking it?” Another asks as shuttles of reinforcements take off. Crosshair merely watches and thinks on the situation. Cham Syndulla. But Hunter wouldn’t risk that girl’s life. Not unless he has Hera Syndulla. Crosshair looks back and spots Captain Howzer’s distinct white and teal armor. Howzer. Crosshair knew that the clone captain favored the Twi’lek freedom fighter. He wanted to go after Hera himself, to protect her.
“Get into position outside. They’re here,” Crosshair tells his squad.
“Are you sure Commander?” The female soldier asks. Crosshair sneers at them and they all nod, obeying his order. They all remember what happened to their former squad mate when he questioned the Commander. They all spread out in front of the clone trooper and aim for the single hangar door while Crosshair gets into position up top on a balcony across the yard.
Meanwhile…
The alarm blares as Hunter, Echo and the Twi’leks all race to the hangar.
“Cham! Wait!” A voice calls. Hunter whirls around and sees Captain Howzer running up to them. He points his blaster at the clone captain, as does Echo.
“You’re walking into a trap-“ Howzer warns, taking off his helmet, “There’s a squad out there waiting.” The group exchanges a look.
“Why should we trust you?” Gobi asks. Neither Hunter or Echo have lowered their blaster pistols.
“Because I’m on your side,” Howzer answers, “What the Empire’s doing is wrong,” the clone captain says, approaching the group.
“You have to get out of here. They have the exits blocked,” Howzer pleads.
“We can use Senator Taa’s shuttle in his private tower hangar,” Eleni Syndulla, Hera’s mother, tells Howzer.
“I’m sorry, General. I should’ve stopped this sooner,” Howzer says honestly, walking up to the Twi’lek. Hunter and Echo lower their blasters, sensing the truth to the clone captain’s words. If they’re being honest, Hunter and Echo see a bit of Rex in Howzer.
“Our fight for Ryloth is not over,” Cham reassures Howzer, placing a hand on the teal pauldron on Howzer’s right shoulder.
“You can’t stay here. They’ll know you helped us,” Eleni urges the captain, but he shakes his head.
“I will not abandon my squad. They’re good men,” Howzer explains, shutting his eyes sadly, knowing he could be killed. He looks back up at Cham.
“Go, while there’s still time,” Howzer urges with a pleading look on his face. Cham nods and leads the group out to Senator Taa’s shuttle tower.
Echo and Hunter bring up the rear of the group to protect the others, but Hunter slows down and watches Howzer approach the large door. The captain takes a breath before Hunter follows the others out, unable to watch what happens.
Cham leads the group through various halls until they get to a lift. They all get on and head up to the hangar.
“There-Taa’s shuttle-“ Eleni points and they hurry over.
“Tech, Omega, we have alternate transport. Meet at the rendezvou,” Hunter reports over the commlink. Echo gets in the copilot seat along with Cham and they fire up the ship.
“Meet at the rendezvou,” Tech hears over the comms.
“Gladly. Because there are multiple Imperial vessels inbound,” Tech says, looking at the scanner to see a bunch of red blinking dots approaching on the screen.
Hera looks up, spotting the Marauder, and pulls on the steering to pull the ship up and follow Tech, having heard Hunter through Omega’s commlink.
Back at the refinery, Crosshair looks through the scope on his rifle.
“Commander, should we move in?” Crosshair hears through his helmet.
“Stay in position. This is their way out,” Crosshair orders, getting ready. That’s when the door opens and a single trooper walks out. Through the scope, Crosshair sees the teal color of Captain Howzer. The clones all lower their blasters, but not Crosshair’s squad.
“Brothers! What are we doing?” Howzer asks his squad.
“We came here to free Ryloth from Separatist control, and we succeeded—but look around you! We’re now being ordered to target the very people we swore to protect. And I will not be a part of it any longer-“ Captain Howzer says, throwing his blaster down. It clatters to the ground.
“Who will stand with me?” Howzer asks. The squad looks at its leader then at each other before about half decide to stand with Howzer, while the rest do not.
“Arrest those traitors,” Crosshair orders. His squad takes the surrendering clones, along with Howzer just as the tower hangar door opens and a shuttle flies out. Crosshair fires a few shots at the shuttle, but they all fly past the ship as it flies off. Crosshair glares at the ship just as Hunter glances back out the window to look, though he doesn’t actually see the sniper.
The clones still loyal to the empire and Crosshair’s squad arrest all clones that stand with Howzer. The clone captain himself is arrested and taken to a cell with the rest of his loyal men. Howzer glances up and watches the shuttle with Cham and Eleni Syndulla flies off and despite the situation he’s in now, Howzer’s grateful the others were able to get away.
Everyone meets up at the rendezvous point and the girls immediately gush about the mission as Hunter approaches Eleni and Cham.
“Here’s the payment Hera promised,” Eleni says, handing Hunter a briefcase of credits.
“Keep it. You’ll need it,” Hunter tells the pair.
“These occupations are happening on other planets besides Ryloth,” Hunter tells Cham, remembering Saleucami and how the Empire had a growing presence there.
“I hoped to have fought my last war, but our people need us now more than ever. We must organize,” Cham tells Hunter.
“Well, that’s not something we can help with, General,” Hunter tells Cham before glancing back at Tech, Wrecker, Echo, Omega and Maisy.
“I have my own people to look out for,” Hunter tells him as the rest of his squad talks with Hera.
“If a war is coming, it will be their fight as much as ours,” Eleni tells the sergeant before glancing at her daughter.
“Come along, Hera,” she calls. Hera turns and hurries to her mother with Omega and Maisy following close behind.
“Tech showed us how to scramble a ship’s signature,” Hera tells her parents, looking at the girls.
“We will soon see how well it works,” her mother says, “it is time for us to go.”
The girl’s eyes widen.
“N-No-y-you can’t-“ Maisy suddenly says, not wanting to part ways. The adults give her a sad smile as Echo gently puts his hand on the girl’s shoulder.
“Maisy, Hera and her parents have to go now,” Echo tells the youngling. Tears form in her eyes and start spilling out and rolling down her cheeks.
“B-But we’re friends-“ Maisy whimpers. Maisy is obviously uncomfortable with letting go of anyone because of Order 66. Hera smiles and kneels down in front of her.
“You’re right Maisy. We are friends and we’ll always be friends, no matter how far apart we are. Deal?” She asks and Maisy immediately jumps into Hera, wrapping her arms around the Twi’lek pilot. Her friend.
“Friends…always,” Maisy says and the Youngling can’t help the tears as she clings to her new friend before Omega’s able to pry the girl off Hera gently. Echo steps forward and picks Maisy up and steps back. Still kneeling, Hera faces Omega.
“Well, copilot, we didn’t do too bad,” Hera tells the young clone.
“Do you have to go?” Omega asks. Although she didn’t say as much, Omega agrees with Maisy. She had hoped Hera would get to stay or have more time together.
“For now, but I’m sure I’ll see you around,” Hera tells Omega before looking back at CF99 and Maisy in Echo’s arms.
“And keep an eye on your siblings. They need it,” Hera whispers that last part, placing a hand on Omega’s shoulder.
“I will,” Omega nods. Hera smiles and the two embrace.
“Thanks. For believing in me,” Hera tells Omega before they part. Omega gives Hera a sad smile before they let go. Hera places her hand on Chopper and he chatters before joining Hera. The two part ways with Hera rejoining her parents and Omega catching up with CF99.
Echo sets Maisy down and Omega smiles as Maisy grabs her hand. Omega and Maisy watch as the ship Hera’s on starts up and begins to rise upwards. Omega and Maisy wave with their free hands and Hera waves back through the window. Once the ship is off, Omega and Maisy catch up with the rest of the squad.
Meanwhile…
Crosshair finds Admiral Rampart inspecting the damage at the refinery. He removes his helmet once he gets close.
“It would seem I underestimated your 4 friends. If only they were fighting for us instead of against us,” Rampart tells Crosshair.
“Request permission to hunt them down,” Crosshair asks formally. Admiral Rampart looks back behind him.
“Hmm…granted,” Rampart answers, turning to fully face the sniper before walking away, leaving Crosshair alone.
He is going to hunt down his former squad. Of course he’s not stupid. Crosshair knows that the Empire won’t let them live long. It’s why his new squad is made up of conscripted soldiers. If Crosshair can convince them to join him, the Empire would spare their lives. They are good at what they do and even better as a squad. The Empire would see their worth if they were whole.
End.

Name: Jawa & EG-6 Power Droid Category: Star Wars Series: 1/6 Scale Series Manufacturer: Hot Toys Type: Action Figure Size: 8 Inch Packaging: Boxed Description: Jawas are meter-tall humanoids completely hidden behind rough, hand-woven robes. Their faces are concealed within the dark folds of a cowl, from which only their glowing yellow eyes can be seen. They comb the deserts of Tatooine in search of discarded scraps, wayward mechanicals and incapacitated droids to drag to their fortress-homes and immense sand-scarred vehicles known as sandcrawlers. The Jawas sell their hastily refurbished junk to moisture farmers who are hard-pressed to find a better selection elsewhere. Little more than walking batteries, Power Droids trundle along as directed by their owners or their programming, recharging vehicles and machinery. They are often called “Gonk” droids in imitation of their simple vocalizations. There are many different models of Power Droids. Although they are common sights throughout the galaxy, Power Droids are often overlooked despite their critical importance to both military and civilian life. Meticulously created based on the appearance of the two characters in the movie, the Jawa Sixth Scale Collectible Figure features a newly developed head with LED lights, a skillfully tailored costume, variety of accessories, and a sand-themed figure base. The EG-6 Power Droid is finely crafted with a detailed mechanical body complete with weathering effects, and also comes with a sand-themed figure base. We receive both US and Canadian Cases. You will get either English, bilingual or trilingual carded figures based on availability. Please understand this before ordering. Safety Warning: This product may contain sharp points, small parts that are choking hazards, and other elements that are not suitable for children under 3 years of age. Cyberpunk fic : One gig,V. Just one gig.
Hellooooooo lovely people ! i was talkin' 'bout a cyberpunk fic with my oc i created, Timur. Here we goooo !
TW : Violence.
word count : 2140.
Tumblr media
"Are you sure about that guy? You know I work alone... Rogue."
One eyebrow twists on the older side while it's V's stomach that twists. Oh shit, looks like Rogue is pissed. Even if this mask of coldness is well anchored on the face of the woman with gray hair.
"I've got good mercs V, this gonk is a pro'."
V raises his eyebrows. He can't understand why Rogue wants to bring him, he's still a mere baby in the eyes of the after-life greats? It annoys him a bit. But he's drawn from these thoughts
"It's the Maelstrom, they aren't children."
"That's mean Rogue She's implying that you can't manage a gig on your own."
Silverhand's signature voice is heard as he materializes next to the oldest lady.
"Johnny shut up, don't be crazy. I'm already struggling to deal with Rogue, I'm playing my balls and my salary!"
A mean smile comes to rest on Silverhand's lips. Followed by a laugh…which V doesn't often hear.
"You're talking out loud Kid, that gonk Johnny is giving you trouble? I can calm him down…huh Johnny, are we talking about your boner breakdown when you took too much drugs ?"
"Liar and bitch. I'm out"
He surely dematerializes the blow in his ego which makes him flee.
V sighs a little, before looking into Rogue's eyes, she inspires him with so much respect but so much fear.
"Thanks Rogue…well what's your gonk's name?"
"Timur."
" He sound like a scanvenger. Don't like this. ''
Rogue's eyebrows frown. Seems like V struck a chord, he's always been good at reading people's emotions.
"Timur is a good guy. I'm sure you'll love him. Give me five minutes I'll call him."
She grab her phone start the call. V watching the scene carefully. The phone is ringing. Sounds before bad hardbass music is heard loudly.
"Timur? Yeah it's Rogue.. fuck ! turn down your shitty music! You really have shitty taste. …Got a job... yeah Maelstrom stolen an shard …. You gotta test me a kid who has the gig .
Yeah, V how did you guess? Okay, nova. Thanks. "
V hallucinates, as much as Johnny who reappeared next to the latter, Rogue… nice and who says thank you? We swim in delirium.
"V, wait in front of the bar. He'll pick you up. "
"Thank you Rogue."
V decides to go straight up, not preferring to wait at the bar. The latter comes to lean against a wall, taking out a cigarette which he lights, while Silverhand appears in front of V.
"V… I know Rogue wouldn't fuck ya' violently… but watch out. I don't trust this guy. ''
“Me neither Johnny. ''
But, in the distance… Quite strong hardbass is heard, while a van screeches its tires, coming to park in front of V. The window is lowered, letting smoke escape.
A rather broad-shouldered man, with a caricatural and rude face, a badly trimmed beard. Mixed blue and brown eyes come to rest in those of V.
"You're V comrade? ''
“Eh… Yeah, I guess you’re Timur? ''
“Da! ''
The door opens, revealing a man…. Smiling. V hesitantly climbs up next to him, the man coming to hold out his big hand. V shake Timur hand. As he concentrates a little more on the face of the famous Timur… Jet black hair crushed under a heavy newsboy hat, Dark circles under the eyes of the man supposes that he is sleeping very little. Then, the missing front teeth didn't help give him a reassuring look even though he was smiling.
The tattoos, with the theme of Russian gangsters on the throat, on the arms as well. V deduces that he is hiding more tattos. But no time to procrastinate, the door closed and the belt buckled, while the crazy crushes his foot against the accelerator. Starting on the wheel caps, heading towards the objective. As V holds on as he can, as Timur lets go of the steering wheel to search in his pockets… Under the gaze of a panicked V.
“Fuck…FUCK! LOOK AT THE ROAD! “
“Don’t worry baby-boy… I have to give you something…. AH, THERE YOU GO ! ''
Timur pulls out a shard that he tends to V.
“What ya need to know, on the shard. ''
Except V… Has slightly glitched. He has just realized the depth of the voice of the man at his side. Then… It also have hard time to understand him, for a big reason, the thick accent of Timur.
V understands what he has to do. He takes the shard, inserting it into the neural port before seeing what he needs to retrieve. A shard that contains sensitive data on one of Night-city's next political candidate.
“How long have you been working for Rogue ? she sees you as a gonk of confidence. ''
“A few years now. But… It's not about me that we should talk, you're the next star of the mercs world V. ''
“That’s why you serve as a babysitter. ''
Say V, ironically. With a slightly playful gaze, shifting his gaze to Timur. Who frowns a bit.
“It will avoid taking a bullet in the skull. If Rogue asked me to come with you, you have potential. We don't waste the good blood."
V, raises his eyebrows. A little… surprised at the response of the man driving.
“Because guys from the Afterlife talking about you, much more than you think. Your shit at Konpeki plaza mainly, but ya got balls baby-boy. The world respects that, to have balls. ''
'' Uh thank you. ''
'' Don't thank me, I'm telling you what's on my mind baby-boy. But don't you imagine I'm going to give you a hand. I'm just here to watch you. ''
'' But…''
'' There's no but. It's your time to shine. ''
The discussion passed the time well, since they arrive at the warehouse where the Maelstrom is housed. Timur parks discreetly, unlike his departure from Afterlife. The Russian comes to give a new shard to the youngest.
'' Don't panic, there's no trick. it will connect you to the screen of my phone. it will allow me to act if you do shit. ''
V inserts the shard again, the settings adjusting as Timur picks up his phone, calling V, who picks up and exits the van, surveying the scene.
'' You hear me ? ''
'' Five on five. ''
“Nova, go now. good luck. ''
V comes to pull out his silver pistol, removing the safety and checking the number of bullets. As he decides to take the air route, starting to climb. To pass through a window, jumping quickly on a man from the maelstrom whom he comes to knock out with the butt of a pistol.
“Good job. ''
The Russian congratulates him on this great proof of flexibility… While V crouched down to move forward, breathing in the smells of the territory of cyber-metalheads. The ferrous smell of blood and implants, drugs, piss and vomit. Because the guys are not really clever and piss in all possible corners.
V does silent neutralizations. Seeking in the complex where is his objective is.
Timur, meanwhile, was taken out of the van to open the trunk doors, revealing a diverse and varied arsenal of weapons. Preparing in case things go wrong. The calloused hands come to regulate the weapons, pushing themselves in an almost ritual meditation. Whistling the anthem of the Motherland.
“I have the shard. ''
V voice resounds in Timur's ear.
"Nova, get out of here."
V begins to sail backwards when…
“Hey you there! you're not from the group, kill him! ''
Indeed, it started well, but it ended badly. Gunshots are heard, followed by some growl from V.
“V? baby boy? SHIT ! ''
Neither one nor two, the hands of the Russian come to catch, an entirely red light machine gun, with a gold-plated engraving of the sickle and the hammer. He runs, Timur. Walking towards the entrance, reaching out his left arm, activating the arm mechanism. Taking out a cannon, a projectile launch system, coming fired to blow up the door. As he steps inside.
Adrenaline rushes through his heart as he runs to a main room, where he finds V stabbing a knife into the skull of a maelstrom, who bands together to knock the two of them out.
Timur's powerful voice crosses the room like lightning in the sky.
“V! down ! ''
The youngest guy down rolling on the ground, guessing what will happen.
The barrel of the light machine gun rises towards the members of the Maelstrom. While the big finger lands on the trigger.
“Oh fuck guys! it's the red bear! ''
Neither one nor two, Timur starts happily killing anything that moves and doesn't look like V.
“Blyat motherfucker! BLYAAAT! That my baby boy! ''
The cartridges fall heavily to the ground. Like the sticky blood that spurts from the bodies mutilated by Timur weapon. the bodies joining the ground too.
V is on the ground, holding his ears and curled up, hoping for the deluge to end quickly, even closing his eyes. After a few seconds, his eyes open again, he gets up. Watching the carnage done.
“Damn, man… You are fuckin' don't joke ! ''
'You're alright, baby? ''
"Yeah it's ok, I thought I was going to die with you shooting like crazy."
A slaugh comes out of the throat of the Russian, who comes to kiss his signature weapon.
"Say thank you to Mother-Blyat. ''
'' Nice to meet ya'' Mother-blyat ''
"Come on, move your gonk ass, we're off. ''
The two leave, Timur puts his things in the trunk, then comes back behind the wheel. Starting on the wheel hats.
“Good V… Baby-boy. You managed, you don't need my help for 90% of the mission. Keep it up and you will do great things. Don't hesitate if you want us to work again ,it will be a pleasure. ''
"Thanks man, I didn't expect that from you. I thought you were going to lecture me. ''
'' shut up V, you've been good. Take your compliment. ''
The two start laughing, quickly coming to park at the Afterlife. Timur grabbing his phone to come and tap a message, which he quickly sends before putting his hand on the shoulder of the youngest.
'' See ya in street Kid. ''
“See you, Red-Bear. ''
V leaves the car, walking down the steps of the most famous bar in town. Arriving in front of Emmerick who seems surprised.
“Hi V. Are you back yet? ''
“Hi Emmerick, yep. ''
“Looks like I have to buy Rogue a bottle. ''
'' Sorry ? ''
"We bet you were going to come back tomorrow."
V sighs, as the colossus of animals lets him pass. the doors open so V can step into the bowels of the old morgue. As he prepares to join Rogue's booth, Claire beckons him to approach, the latter still smiling. She sets down a bottle of whiskey, which V grabs.
'' For the boss, thank you V. ''
'' You're welcome. ''
He moves towards the booth, the mass that is Weyland, leaving room for V, who is looking at Rogue, he can see from her blue eyes that she is looking for something. Then, the blue fade, giving way to its natural color.
“Sit down V.”
Without waiting, he sits down putting the bottle of Rogue, who take it,serving two generous glasses. V coming put the shard on the table.
“Perfect, the customer will be happy. Good job V.''
Rogue, slide the glass over to the blond, who takes it in his hand. They come to drink at the same time, while the youngest is struggling to finish the whisky.
The tongue of the oldest slaps on her palate. V has always translated it as: it's good dope.
But V, is surprised while the transaction is done.
“Woah Rogue ! It's more than we agreed. ''
A smirk just appeared on the hard face of the woman.
“You will thank the Bear. He told me: if we succeed, give him my eddies, he need it. ''
Looks like he's like ya', kid. ''
“That’s why he calls me baby-boy…”
Uncontrolled laughter escapes Amendiares, as V blush and looks flustered.
“Baby boy?! Holy shit V! Oh hell... I wouldn't get over it. Talking about that…''
While his mask of coldness returns to rest on his face marked by decades of adventures.
'' Where is he ? ''
"I don't know, he just threw me in front of the afterlife without a word. ''
'' OK… ''
V raises his eyebrows. A hint of sadness in Snape's voice is heard, twice as she shows emotion... Is she sick?
'' V, I'll contact you as soon as I have another gig. ''
“Thanks again Rogue, have a nice day. ''
He stands, seeing Rogue's bothered look. V leaves the booth to go toward the bar, to drink a little. And talk with Claire.
