Fun Facts. 100% verified.
Ariana Grande got her start in a Bangles tribute band called The Grangles.
According to University of California professor of psychology, Alison Gopnik, "The four saddest words are I have a podcast".
With the help of AI graphics, 20th Century Fox has developed a print of The Devil Wears Prada which automatically updates to "ensure Anne Hathaway's make-over outfits are less hilariously outdated".
Just months before he died, Pope John-Paul II told his American Cardinals he thought the character of Jen from Dawson's Creek was "sadly misunderstood".
The official cocktail of Massachusetts, the Cape Codder, is really just a vodka-cran with clams and a Parker House roll.

what is bassist! matt & bartender! reader’s first interaction like?? (also is bassist matt hot like emo! matt?? 🤭)
so this is a bit of a sneak peek but
you had just finished wiping down the entire bar after the band’s intermission had started, and you were a bit upset that you weren’t able to see or hear much, because from the small bit that you did manage to hear, the band sounded pretty decent. especially compared to local bands that had one good cover but couldn’t figure out how to properly tune their instruments between songs or sing on pitch that normally landed gigs at knucklehead. but as you were refilling pitchers of certain mixes, the bottles of syrups, all while also restocking the beer coolers, a familiar voice rang out from down the bar,
“can i order two cape codders please?” matt asks, causing your heart to start racing against your ribcage while simultaneously falling to the pit of your stomach. and all you could think is “when the fuck did he get here?”, “why is he here?”, and “why the fuck does he look so good?”, making you momentarily forget about the anger and hurt stemming from the night of your break up that you held against him. you refused to look his way as you nodded and started pouring the vodka into the glass, followed by the cranberry juice. as you slid the glass down the bar, you spoke up,
“that’ll be ten-fifty.” and he nods, fishing a twenty out of his wallet, placing it on the counter and muttering a soft comment about keeping the change. and you force yourself to keep your bubbling feelings and unresolved hurt beneath the surface, knowing that you wouldn’t have time to process as customers started flocking toward the bar yet again. but as the night went on, and the rush hour doubled, you couldn’t shake the feeling that he was watching you as you poured drinks left and right, and the idea of him keeping a close tab on you after years of radio silence left you feeling rather conflicted.
and yes he’s just as hot as emo!matt but emo!matt is def hotter

Mark: I think the other thing about Charles is, he comes from such a grounded family. Um, you know, his mother, Pascale, is a hairdresser in Monaco. And David Coulthard tells a great story about how, you know, he was in having his haircut in Monaco. And the hairdresser said to him, you know, where are you going this weekend?-- I forget which Grand Prix it was-- Anyway, at that Grand Prix, DC is walking through the paddock and he sees his hairdresser and he goes over to her and he says, what the heck are you doing here? And she was like, oh, well, I just, you know, I had a paddock pass. So I thought I'd come in and have a wander around and he said, yeah, but why are you here? And she said, oh, my son's racing.
[Laughing]
And he says, who's your son? Oh, it's Charles Leclerc. And--
Stuart: You know, it's a shame she didn't say "it is he."
[More laughing]
Mark: Uh, but the point that DC makes is that it shows you the down to earth nature of the family. The mother is not cutting DC's hair saying, oh, I've got this son, he's going to be a future world champion. And can you help me by introducing him to Red Bull-- had never mentioned it at all. Never mentioned it. Very, very grounded and, and I think that comes across from Charles, you don't get the opinion of an overinflated ego there. Quite the contrary.

Back At The Bog por David Blazejewski Por Flickr: I was chasing the second southbound trip of the day with a good friend and he wanted to do several of the spots I hit on the first trip. But that didn't matter because it gave me a chance to try some different angles at each and the lighting was a bit more favorable. The Cape Cod Central / Mass Coastal Railroad welcomed a big crowd to their second annual Railfans Day on Saturday August 17, 2024. The big draw for photographers this year was the operation of their two serviceable (they also own a third) classic original New Haven FL9s coupled back to back just as they would have operated leading the Neptune or Day Cape Codder up from New York City back in the early 1960s. I opted for a more head on view here this round, as New Haven 2011 and 2026 (blt. Sep. 1960 ans Sep. 1957 as NH 2038 and 2007 respectively) lead the second of three trips back to the festivities in Hyannis from Bourne as they hustle along the edge of a fallow cranberry bog approaching the Old County Rd. crossing at about MP 65.7 on the MassDOT owned and Mass Coastal operated former New Haven Railroad Cape Mainline. Cape Codders have the best strokes, people. Sometimes you confuse them for a DUI because they're rolling around in a ditch talking retarded. We've all been there, folks. It's understandable that it was a presumed DUI. But this man's brain decided to stop working! Sad! Many such cases. Hopefully he'll recover and be back on the MAGA train next week

Forged by Fire - Chapter 11
The four of them move into the living room. Kara and Lena settle onto the couch as Alex and Kelly take their place across the room on the loveseat. Since Alex is the one who expressed the need to talk, Kara and Lena remain silent. Of course, they also have things to both show and tell the redhead, but finding out how much Kelly knows takes precedent. Does she know about the disposal of the body or more?
After what seems like an eternity of silence, Alex finally speaks. “When we…did what we did last week, I knew it was going to be difficult to reconcile on multiple levels.” She glances at Kelly before continuing, “I didn’t want to be dishonest with my wife and it was getting to me, starting to impact our marriage. Kelly knew something happened, but I was purposely vague about it. I grossly underestimated how much it would affect my marriage.”
She swallows hard, her eyes darting between her fidgeting hands and her stern faced wife. Another uncomfortable silence settles around them like a suffocating smoke bomb. Lena reaches over, settling her hand onto Kara’s bouncing leg in an attempt to comfort the blonde. Just as the tension starts to ease in Kara’s posture, Lena decides she needs some scotch to get through whatever is about to happen.
Standing abruptly, Lena points toward the liquor cabinet and says, “I have a feeling I am going to need a liberal serving of scotch for whatever is about to come out of your mouth. Anyone else?” She glances at the other three women, both Alex and Kelly nod their head before Kara bolts up to join her.
The two of them anxiously walk to the cabinet, no words are exchanged, just worried glances. As Lena pulls the tumblers out, she turns to catch a glimpse of Alex and Kelly quietly talking. She gets the feeling there’s something unsaid between those two, she’s just not sure what. Yet. Kelly may know something, Alex might have told her they got rid of the body, but based on the names they saw on the flash drives, not everything has been shared. She sure as hell isn’t going to show their cards until Alex says her piece. “Kara, I don’t think Alex knows. The way she’s acting right now? She doesn’t know. We need to wait to see what she has to say before we tell her anything. Right now, we have leverage if shit goes sideways.” Lena pours three fingers of scotch into two glasses for herself and Alex. Next to her, Kara makes two Cape Codders for herself and Kelly.
“Okay. I’m going to let you do the talking for us. I’m so anxious at this point, I will ramble on about everything.” They both nod in agreement and head back to the living room with their drinks. Whatever is about to happen, they have the upper hand and still have several cards up their sleeve.
Passing the drinks over to Alex and Kelly gives them a little more time to breathe before Alex finishes what she has to say. Lena’s mind is whirring with possibilities. Worst case, Kelly knows they got rid of the body and she’s going to the police or something equally as horrible. Best case, she hated her narcissistic asshole brother as much as she did and wants to tell them she doesn’t blame them. The truth is probably somewhere in the middle.
Besides, Lena still isn’t sure if it was Alex or Kara that killed James. Hell, at this point, it could be anybody! The man had so many people potentially wanted him dead, it genuinely could have been his sister or the mailman. Every time they find out something new, the fucking list gets longer so why not add Kelly as well. Apparently, the more the merrier.
Her train of thought is derailed when Alex sits her class on the coffee table. The solid thunk yanks her mind back to the present. Green eyes meet the nervous blue of her best friend’s as she takes a healthy sip of scotch. Ready to get this conversation going, Lena finally says, “So spit it out. You obviously didn’t come over here without calling first to drink in silence. Tell us what you have to say.”
“You’re right, sorry. When we got home on Monday after making the missing persons report, I was a bit of a wreck. I’ve reattached fingers and removed things from bodies no one would believe. I work well under pressure, but something about lying to the cops and knowing there are loose ends out there…it was making me anxious, nearly paranoid.” Alex sighs, frustration etched into her face and lack of sleep evident under her eyes.
Kelly reaches out to place a hand on the redhead’s knee, giving her a nod of encouragement to continue. “Originally, I told Kelly I was worried about you, Kara. Which isn’t a lie, I am. It’s just…the further we get away from all of this, the more I think about his missing car, the phone, laptop, all of it. There are things that don’t add up. When Kara told me the detectives came by on Thursday, it made things worse. Finally, I couldn’t take it anymore. Kelly found me sitting on the floor of the shower sobbing last night and I told her everything.”
Alex’s legs are bouncing and a few tears are hovering at the waterline of her eyes as she watches Kara and Lena for a reaction. Neither of them say anything, but Kara is equally as twitchy as her sister, but Lena is pissed. She’s hiding it as best she can, but she is steaming on the inside. They all agreed to keep this between them and Alex has now broken that vow. Lena is livid. Especially now that she knows about the names on The Oath Brokers list. Right now, she will hold her tongue and wait, but she will pull out her ace when she needs it. She has a feeling that will be soon.
When neither Kara nor Lena speaks, Kelly finally chimes in. “Look, I don’t blame any of you for what happened. My brother was a horrible human being. I’ve known that for a long time. Since I found out about his little side hustle and how badly he was abusing Kara, I knew it was a matter of time before he killed someone or someone killed him. It just happened much sooner than I expected.”
“What exactly are you trying to say, Kelly?” Lena snaps, not sure what Kelly is insinuating in her vague statement. Is she trying to get one of them to confess to killing him? What does she really know? “And you, Alex, what exactly did you tell her? This feels like one or both of you are saying something without actually saying it. Out with it!”
She slams the rest of the scotch back and stomps into the kitchen to bring the whole bottle back with her. Topping off her own, she offers a top off to Alex. Lena is quickly losing her patience with whatever it is happening right now because it doesn’t feel like a conversation. It feels like an accusation and interrogation is about to take place. If they want to play that game, she is armed and ready.
Alex and Kelly share a look before Kelly decides to take the lead. “The gist of what she told me is that she came by to check on Kara that night and found the two of you in the kitchen with James’ body on the floor. Kara was freaking out and Alex knew she couldn’t let her sister go to jail so the three of you devised a plan to get rid of the body. Then she contacted an acquaintance to assist and Lena went with her to incinerate the evidence. That’s the basic summary.”
Kara lets out a squeak of anxiety as Kelly finishes her recap. While it is the generalized truth of what happened, it doesn’t capture the severity and shear stress of the whole fiasco. Her summary just seems so trivial compared to the actual experience. Instead of speaking, she scoots closer to Lena and reaches for her hand.
“Okay, so you know the basics of what happened. Why does it seem like you know more than you are letting on? Did Alex tell you she killed him? Did she blame one of us? What are you not telling us?” Lena interrogates, she might be wrong in her assumption, but something in her gut is telling her she isn’t. There is something unsaid. Nine times out of ten she is right about these things and she refuses to let up until she gets answers.
Apparently her statement doesn’t sit well with Alex because she jumps to her feet and points an angry finger in her direction before yelling, “Don’t fucking accuse me of killing him, Luthor! You show up in town and less than a week later he winds up dead? Then you and my sister conveniently find the body?! What’s to say you didn’t kill him? Or Kara for that matter!”
This gets Kara re-engaged. “What the hell, Alex?! You’re accusing me? I was at your apartment all night. Lena did what needed to be done and now you’re throwing it in her face? You knew who to call and how to go about getting rid of him, that makes you just as guilty!” She huffs at her sister, standing with her hands on her hips and her nostrils flaring.
Kelly is silently watching all of it unfold, her arms crossed across her chest and eyes bouncing between each of them. The whole thing is rubbing Lena the wrong way, the woman is absolutely hiding something and she will find out what. She pours herself another glass of scotch, her third at this point. Another one and her filter will be off. Whether that is good or bad remains to be seen.
Looking at both Kelly and Kara’s empty glasses, she interrupts the tension to refill them. “Let’s take a minute. I’m going to refill your drinks and then we can refocus and re-center this conversation.” For good measure, she slams her third glass of scotch back and heads to the kitchen followed closely by Kara.
As she is refilling the glasses, Kara sidles up next to her and whispers, “You can tell me if you killed him, you know. You were just doing something I couldn’t. Besides, at this point, it doesn’t matter. We’re all in it too deep. I’m just as guilty as you. I’d never view you in a different light.”
Lena can’t believe what she is hearing. All this time, Kara thinks she killed James. Part of her suspected it was Kara, she’s the only one of them that doesn’t truly have an alibi. She was supposedly at Alex and Kelly’s house, but was she? Having known Kara most of her life, deep down she’s reasonably sure the woman couldn’t do it. Honestly, she doesn’t think Kara would do it, but abuse can push someone to do things they wouldn’t usually do.
She takes a deep breath and looks right at her best friend. “You know, Kara. I would expect something like this from Alex, but not you. I've been facing down my family’s monsters since I was very young. You know that.” Lena says, wishing she had her glass of scotch in her hand.
Shoving Kara’s drink at her, she continues, “We go through life creating our own monsters, then we’re suddenly afraid of them for what they show us about ourselves. What is yours showing you right now, Kara? Please, spare me the condescending, self-righteous bullshit. I didn’t fucking kill your husband no matter how much I wanted to."
Marching away from the now mouth-gaping blonde, Lena hands the fresh drink to Kelly and immediately pours herself another glass. Kara slowly makes her way back and plops onto the cushion next to Lena without another word. She isn’t sure what to say to the CEO now, her gut has been telling her it was either Alex or Lena that killed James. Has she really been wrong about it the whole time? Did Alex and Lena think the same thing about her? Better yet, who the hell did kill James?
Since Lena has now been accused of murder by both her best friend and the woman who has always been like a sister to her, she’s had enough. The time has come, she’s pulling out the big guns. Kelly fucking knows way more than she is letting on and Lena is more certain then ever that Alex has no idea.
“Now that all of the accusations are out of the way, let’s talk facts, shall we?” Lena rhetorically asks, taking a sip of scotch number four. Her ‘give a damn’ broke about five minutes ago and she’s going in with gloves off. “First of all, let’s get this on record right off the bat. I did not kill James Olsen. I was at a business dinner that ran late and can prove it, if needed.”
She lets that sink in for a few seconds, takes another sip of her scotch, and keeps going, “Second of all, now that I know more about what James was up to, I don’t think Alex or Kara had anything to do with his death either. Personally, I think you know that, don’t you Kelly?” Lena fixes her gaze directly on the psychiatrist sitting across from her.
Kelly’s eyes go wide and she squirms in her seat as she looks from Lena to Kara to Alex and back. It’s obvious she’s worried and she is now understanding that Lena knows far more than she realized. The CEO lets her digest that thought for a bit, taking another self-satisfied sip of her scotch.
When she feels enough time has passed in silence, she continues, “You see, Kara and I have been doing some digging into your brother’s little side hustle. Seems he got himself involved with some really shady, very dangerous people. Not only that, in a blatant show of his arrogance, he decided to steal from them.” Viridian eyes bore into Kelly’s now reticent brown eyes.
Alex is now starting to realize something is off and turns toward her wife with narrowed eyes. “What is she talking about? Kelly? Why does she think you know something?”
Kelly just stares back at the CEO, a pleading look on her face. Unfortunately for the psychiatrist, Lena’s not having it. She’s had enough of the bullshit and since Alex has already spilled their secret, it’s time for Lena to spill Kelly’s. “Last night, we were going through the pantry to look for something to eat and a shiny object caught our attention. Tucked away on the top shelf was a locked briefcase. Boy was it full of all sorts of interesting things.”
The more she talks, the more uneasy Kelly gets. Even Kara is sitting up straighter and holding less tension. The blonde has seen her best friend do this before and she knows it's not only a sight to behold, but always delivers a blow. Part of her feels bad for Kelly, but a larger part wants to know why she’s hidden this from them.
Now, Alex is visibly getting really upset. She has never liked being on the outside of something others know and it’s getting under her skin. Her head is on a swivel, bouncing back and forth between Kara, Lena, and Kelly as if it’s a tennis match. She doesn’t say anything, but it’s quite obvious she wants to.
“See, James was so arrogant that he thought his misdeeds wouldn’t be uncovered. He took so much information from the people he was stealing from that he thought he’d be safe. Let’s call it leverage and blackmail. He wasn’t wrong, he had a lot of really damning things on a lot of very prominent people.” She sips her drink, purposely dragging this out as much as she can.
Lena expects Alex to speak again, but Kelly surprises her when she does it first. “Lena, please, you don’t know what kind of people they are. This is incredibly dangerous. You don’t want to get involved, trust me.”
“Oh, I have no desire to get involved, Kelly. You have this all wrong. See, I just want the truth. Once I have that, the rest of this stuff? I couldn’t care less about it.” Lena matter-of-factly states, finishing off her fourth scotch. As she starts to pour another, a warm hand lands on hers. With a shake of her head, Kara asks her to lay off the drinking so she obliges. “When we spent all night last night and most of the day today going through everything, it brought a few things to light.”
Now Alex is getting really agitated. Whatever is going on involves her wife and she can’t piece it together yet. She’s tired of Lena dragging it out and wants her to get to the fucking point already. “Luthor, jesus-fucking-christ, just get on with it already!”
A humorless chuckle escapes her lips as she levels a boardroom glare at the redhead and then settles her gaze back on Kelly. “Hmm, well, if you insist. There is a treasure trove of information on the flash drives we found. The hierarchy, inner workings, and business transactions between some really high profile people and The Oath Brokers. Including names of people who are associated with them.”
“Yeah, okay. What does that have to do with Kelly?” Alex questions, her mind starting to make the connection, but her heart resisting the truth.
“Ahh, that’s where it gets interesting. On the list of known associates, there were three Olsens listed alongside Eve Teschmacher and Siobhan Smythe. Two women who happen to work as housekeepers in this very house.” Lena smiles as Alex’s eyes go wide and her jaw drops. Waiting a few seconds, she leans forward to hammer her point home. “So, Alex, I think your wife here knows a whole hell of a lot more than she is saying. In fact, I think she knows exactly who killed James and exactly what happened that night.”
Kara, who is almost as shocked as Alex, drops back on the backrest of the couch and blows out a raspberry of exasperation about the whole thing. She had no idea Lena was going to say any of this, much less that the woman had put all this together. “Wait, are you saying you think The Oath Brokers are responsible for his murder? Are you sure, it seems really messy to just leave the body behind for us to find. Not to mention all the shit we found stashed in the house. Wouldn’t they have wanted to take everything?”
Lena smiles and pats Kara’s cheek before she says, “Yes, Darling. That’s why I think we interrupted them when we came home. Then, we ended up doing the rest of the job for them by disposing of the body. Since we also know one of the detectives assigned to the case is part of The Oath Brokers network, it makes even more sense. They are trying to gauge what we know and what to do about it.”
Kelly sighs, running a hand down her face. She seems resigned to the fact Lena has pieced things together. While they still don’t know who killed James or what happened to the missing items, they know enough. There is no longer any point in denying things. Apparently, it’s time to lay it all out. As much as she doesn’t want to, there’s no use in lying anymore.
“You’re right. I’ve known the whole time. I didn’t say anything because I wasn’t sure what any of you knew. Plus, it’s not like we can talk about The Oath Brokers without ramifications. I’ve never really had ties to them and completely distanced myself after my dad died. It’s always been James’ thing, not mine.” She pauses to take a big gulp of her drink. “I’ve only ever gotten involved when my brother got himself in trouble. This time was no different.”
“So, that night in the kitchen when you two were arguing? Was that about The Oath Brokers?” Alex asks, slowly piecing things together. “You said he was working on a side hustle that wasn’t going well. That’s when you found out he was stealing from them, isn’t it?”
With a long sigh and complete resignation, she responds. “Yes. I had already been approached about his recent behavior by one of the lieutenants. It’s been years since I last had to step in with him. Most of the time he would listen and back down, but this time he got in too deep and it was out of my hands.”
“Out of your hands? What do you mean?” Kara asks, genuinely curious about how it was out of Kelly’s hands when it involves her brother.
“I’ve lived and dealt with my brother on and off my whole life. He’s never been an easy personality to tame. His arrogance is unmatched and has gotten him in trouble so many times I lost count.” She slouches against the backrest and shakes her head. “I’ve already gone to bat for him against The Oath Brokers more than once. Not only were they out of patience, but I didn’t want to put myself on their hit list beside James. Our father already suffered that fate.”
“Okay, so what did you do? He obviously didn’t make it off the hit list since we all know he’s dead.” Lena says, raising a brow in question to the younger Olsen. “It’s blatantly obvious to me you know what happened or at the very least, who did it.”
“I know both.” She plainly states, a sad, despondent look on her face. “Sadly, my brother became someone I didn’t recognize over the last couple of years. Sure, he’s always been arrogant and a bit of a self-absorbed ass. It’s just the redeeming qualities I was able to see in him were no longer present. When I found out what he did to you, Kara, it was the last straw for me. I knew he needed to be dealt with once and for all.”
Kara’s eyes sting from the tears she’s been fighting for a while, she can no longer hold them back as they start cascading down her face. “Kelly, what did you do?” She quietly whispers through the tears.
Kelly, with her own tears now flowing down her face, says, “I did what needed to be done, Kara. He was never going to stop beating you, I know he wasn’t. He all but told me as much standing in your kitchen that night.” She rapidly swipes the tears from her face, no longer feeling like she has the right to grieve her brother.
Standing in an attempt to channel some of the building energy in her body, Kelly continues, “I reached out to some of the fixers that work for The Oath Brokers and procured a lethal dose of cyanide. The next morning, I met with Eve and gave her the vial. I told her it was something to make him drowsy, she had no idea it was to kill him. In fact, I am still not sure she knows he’s dead. At least not yet.”
She pauses in her pacing to finish off her drink then keeps going, “There’s a guy that works for the organization full time, he looks enough like James that we asked him to come over and bring someone with him to make it look like James left the house. They took his car to the chop shop for parts and burned his laptop, phone, and wallet. Siobhan and Mike removed the back gate camera the day before he was killed.”
Alex, who has been quietly stunned during most of the story, finally speaks. “Why didn’t someone take the body? Why leave it here?”
“Because Lena is right, they were interrupted before they could get his body out and search the house for everything he stole. The Oath Brokers had their cleaners on standby outside the back gate to remove him and all the shit they were sure he had stashed in the house, but Kara and Lena got home before they could finish.” Kelly sighs, stopping in front of Kara.
The blonde is leaning forward, her head in her hands. This whole thing is a lot to swallow. Her husband is dead. For all intents and purposes, his sister killed him. Now, she has a shit ton of guns and drugs in her house along with mountains of information on the organization that had him killed. She’s not sure how much more of this insane bullshit she can handle before she has a nervous breakdown.
A warm, shaking hand tugs at her fingers causing her to look up. “I’m sorry for everything my brother put you through and for the nightmare you were left with in finding his body. You never deserved what he did to you and I hope without him in your life you’re able to find peace.”
Instead of speaking, Kara stands to pull her sister-in-law into a hug. While none of this has been easy for any of them, she can’t imagine what kind of hell it’s been for Kelly as well. She certainly wishes Kelly had told them sooner, everything might have been easier to navigate with her in the loop. Plus, Alex would have been better off with someone to process things with. That’s probably what she’s the most upset about.
Kara finally breaks the hug and shakes her head as she wipes away the tears. “Now that we’ve established who killed James, we have another problem to deal with.” She plops herself back onto the couch and gestures toward the pantry then up the stairs.
Kelly returns to her seat next to Alex with a less than warm reception. They’re definitely going to have some heated conversations when they get to the safety of their own home, but for now, they’re focused on the task at hand. Alex looks at her sister with a weariness she’s never seen before. “What’s the other problem that needs to be dealt with? Please don’t tell me there’s another body here, I can’t handle that again, Kara.”
Lena laughs, not because it’s funny, but because what the fuck kind of life is she living? What even is this reality she is currently existing in? She quickly composes herself and responds to the question without missing a beat. “There are about forty guns, a million dollars worth of drugs, and more blackmail material than I know what to do with in this house right now. We don’t want anything to do with any of it, but have no idea how to even start getting rid of it.”
“If you want it gone, I can make a phone call and have someone here within the hour to make it all disappear. After that, you should never have to deal with The Oath Brokers again. As long as you keep what you know about the organization a secret, they’ll pretend they don’t know who you are.” Kelly explains, pulling her phone out and raising her brow in question. “Just say the word and it’s done.”
Both Kara and Lena nod their heads. Kelly presses call and waits for someone to answer. “Imra. Hey, it’s Kelly…”

Chapter 1: A game of hide and seek
Summary: At the beginning, the world was normal, his friends were great and he was starting to love the life, as the sheep king... Till one day, something weird happens, his friends.. start to say things over and over again. A mysterious figure appears in the world, saying he can show him the truth. "Truth?" He wanted to say but everything was beginning to mix around him like a newly painted watercolour painting under the rain. People were blurry, except the boy Infront of him, who calls himself with the name Osamu
Pleaze read the warnings from ao3 fic, yes I'm lazy to write all of that again
An: I realised I haven't post any of the chapters here, so I'm doing it now... just in case lol
Anyway, enjoy the first chapter!!

"The simulation is slowly getting to the snapping point, sir." A man in apron says, following the codes going through the computer along his fellow colleagues. All typing as the soft and mixed clicking sounds fills the cold room like a gas, echoing through the halls as another man, with a calm smile approaches the tube, looking inside to the boy stuck in the expensive liquid. A metal mask with one tube connected to it keeping him breathing in this thick liquid. Oh.. just how much they had to spend on this thing to keep it going was only between him and the god at this point.
"Good. This will either be our rise, or our demise." He said with the calm smile on his face spreading his face like poison
"But this won't fail. Not when we come this far."
"10 seconds to the no return point." A feminine voice says, as the woman stands up from his seat, typing the dreading codes with a sigh. Another voice continues her words soon after "in 5.. 4.. 3.. 2... 1..."
The room falls silent, only the beeping sound continues with the same calm pace, the typing stops along with voices as everyone hope the same thing, hoping it would be just as the headmaster planned. In the end they didn't want his anger's target.
But suddenly, the beeping sound halters. Everyone's eyes widens with instant shock and an underlying fear. It was something that wasn't supposed to happen clearly.. this could mean hundreds of possibilities, and at that time no one knew what it meant
"What happened, kirosuke-san?" The headmaster questioned with the voice as calm as silence before the storm
"..I.. we.." the young codder couldn't answer it, how could he? There was no way of finding out what was happening with the simulation.
"..you what, kirosuke-san?" headmaster questions again, this time his voice dripping with venom that could easily kill elephants. Making the young codder shiver and take a step back
"We c-can fix it sir!" The young codder said with panic, he was now the main target of a man no one would like to mess with, and god forbid if you made him mad. And now he just done the two most feared things in his work space someone could ever done
Headmaster on the other hand only smiled, a smile that don't reach his eyes as he walks to the scared codder, a hand grabbing man's throat as he bends his tall figure and whispers to the shorter male with a menacing tone and an amused grin you could only see in psychopaths' faces
"Oh , I know you will. Cause if you don't, I'll use you to make this prototype live. You are not here to disrespect Dr N's work, are you?"
The young codder could only shook his head in panic, he thought what would he be doing if he didn't accept his friend's invitation to this hell... Sadly he was now too deep into this hell to go back. Only escape was either finish this project, or join his friend on the other side
"Good. Then fix this right away. If it dies, you are going in it's place."
With that, headmaster leaves, with fast yet silent steps he goes through the empty bright white halls, as soon as he was out of the sight the room fills with panic, rapid typing and many voices along with the young codder 's, kirosuke's panicked voice as he goes computer to computer, looking for what's threatening his perfect code
"Someone check the world's codes! See if anything wrong!"
Papers, documents, reports... All were scrabbled on the table of the old building they use as base. The dim light giving the place a soft lighting, just barely making the teens able to read the papers and plans on the table.
"This will make the others gangs fear us!" Grey haired boy exclaimed with excitement smiling so widely as he leans down to the plans he made
On the other hand, Yuna sighs, rubbing her temples before hitting back of Shirase's head, an annoyed face present on her face "don't you think you are giving all the work to Chuuya?"
"Owww.. that's hurts you know??" Shirase huffed, leaning back as he turns to Yuna with a frown now replacing his smirk from before "I'm not. We also have many roles in this one too! But he is the most suitable for stealing the weapon. If we try to do that, they would make a grater of us with how many bullets they would send our way."
"It's still-" Yuna was about to continue before her voice was cut off by the same person they are talking about
"Shouldn't you two not fight before a mission?"
Shirase smiles, walking pass Yuna as he throws his arm over the ginger's shoulders with a smirk and a welcoming gaze "welcome back, king!"
"Didn't I tell you to not to call me that?" Chuuya grimaced, turning his face away yet he doesn't pushes his friend's arm away. Yuna only watches the two with a frown on her face before she storms out suddenly leaving the two behind with confused faces
"..this isn't like Yuna at all.." chuuya thought but his thoughts were quickly turned back go the plans on the table by his grey haired friend
"You are the only suitable one for this part, chuuya!" Shirase said, pointing the breaking point of the plan
Chuuya leans to the plans, his mouth shaping to a small "o" shape as he reads through them, mumbling in awe
"You write these, shirase? That's.. terrific..!"
"You are the only suitable one for this part, chuuya!" Shirase repeats again, with the same face, pointing the same breaking point of the plan once again, making the ginger pause and break through his thoughts
"Yes, I heard you"
"You are the only suitable one for this part, chuuya!" Shirase once again repeats, with the same and exact tone from the first time, pointing the breaking point of the plan again
"..I heard you when you said it in the first time, Shirase.." chuuya said more confusedly this time, he looks at his friend with his eyes full of confusion "is this a joke? Hahaha, very funny, stop this now"
"You are the only suitable one for this part, chuuya!" This time grey haired boy's voice breaks, almost like how a voice changer slowly fails, his voice was like a mix of a more broken record and his friend's voice
"..something's not right.." chuuya thought, taking a nervous and confused step back as he glances to the door of their base. He quickly makes his way towards the door, maybe others know what's happening?
"I'll.. find Yuna." He makes a quick excuses his friends abnormal behaviour was making him nervous and confused. "They were fine when I left.. what happened when I was at the arcade..? This must be a joke they are doing.."
But wherever he looks he couldn't find his pink haired teammate, it was like she was disappeared into the thin air...
"Left without a word, it's not like Yuna at all.." his thoughts were all over the place as he walks in the busy streets after finishing looking the back streets around the base. "Where is she? Where are you Yuna? Could someone had kidnapped her while she was out? Is it the rival gangs? I heard there was a new gang near us-"
His throughs cuts off as middle of the crowd he was run into someone, the person falls with a yelp
"Oww oww.. look where you are going!"
The shorter boy shouted angrily, rubbing his leg before he stands back up in his feet, huffing in annoyance as he turns to look at who was the person that make him fall.
But oddly, the small incident wasn't acknowledged by anyone around, it was a busy street yet no one bat and eye to the boy falling
"It was not my fault, you were standing middle of a busy road!" Ginger snapped, his nervousness and confusion making his emotions and thoughts go in a storm in his mind. But he paused, as he looked at the other shorter boy he run into
The white hospital gown was making him stand out in. The crowd, yet he don't see him at first, messy bandages were clearly done by someone not professional as they were opened by the slightest movement. And his eyes.. "red eyes.."
"Rude." The shorter boy huffed before he pauses, his eyes widens, the slight eyebags under them grows visible as the sun hits his face when he turns his face. Before a smile spreads his face, not an amused one, neither an annoyed one. But a genuine, soft and welcoming smile that reaches his eyes
"Oh, I found you finally. Don't you think hiding this well was unfair to me?"
