british dog. stocky with a heavy block head. very loyal and form strong bonds. calm and affectionate in nature once that bond is formed

very intelligent, trainable, eager to please and respond rlly well to positive reinforcement

with strangers theyre more cautious than most spaniels and more reserved. takes a bit longer for these dogs to warm up to other but, once they do theyre so good with other dogs, people, children.

very good working dogs. despite their reputations for taking things a lot slower than other breeds. i mean look at the guy. boys got thick bones.

but they're VERY GOOD working dogs uggggh.

like, their slow and easy pace is exactly what makes them good hunters as theyre used as bird dogs, gun dogs, competition dogs

theyve got very good noses, are good at flushing out prey when working

because of their heavier builds they do, unfortunately, have a few health issues that just come up naturally over the years. yes this is still relevant to ghost

I keep seeing different ages for almost everyone apart from Soap who is apparently 27

I am making this post because I am like tweaking here

How old is Ghost specifically

I keep seeing either 35 or 40

Specifically looking for evidence here because I cannot find it. Screenshots. I'll take anything. Just comment or reblog I'll be checking.

Please help me out here, I am honestly losing my mind a bit.

This is just pure rant directed towards the codmw fandom and its writers.

The amount of times I have came across 141 headcanons(not yours of course) that do not include Kyle is astounding to me. Like what is your reason? Please, tell me. Because the only reason I can think of as to why writers do not include Sergeant Kyle “Gaz” Garrick who was in all three of the modern warfare reboot games as a main character and is a member of 141 (along with your favorite white boys) - is racism, pure and simple.

Oh he’s hard to write for? Then I suggest you revisit the source material or make something up, like you do for the other members of 141.

There is no good reason for Gaz to not be included in 141 headcanons.

Check yourself and do better.

In my experience writing on TF141, Kyle is actually the easiest to write for. I see him as the one who occupies the grey area of the team, moralistic but not to the point of pure idealism, not afraid to ask questions while getting his hands dirty, and empathetic—he's us, the player. He's also what I envision Price being in his younger years, something that helps balance the team out personality-wise.

While the reboot is quite Ghoap-centric, I tend to think Kyle and Johnny are more alike than they're given credit for. It would be interesting to explore the Ghost-Price and Gaz-Soap dynamic because I think they're mirrors of each other. Ghost is what Price could be if he wasn't the foundation of 141 and Soap is what Gaz was in the earlier stages of his career.

But I say all that to say that while I can understand not connecting with certain characters, omitting Kyle when writing about TF141 is inexcusable, especially when the same way Ghost, Price, and Soap are portrayed can also VERY MUCH apply to Gaz. I like writing about other characters like Königmanjaro's gremlin ass but let's keep it 💯, how is it that folks can find the time to fill in the blanks about him with the little we know but not write on Gaz who has a WHOLE ASS, FLESHED-OUT backstory?

Do I think it's fueled by racism? Oh, for sure. Racism can be subconscious (I don't think folks are ready for this conversation). I see this across the board regarding POC characters in general. But I also blame the developers for this because Gaz doesn't even get the same amount of exposure as the other members.

I could go on and on but I don't wanna get on my soapbox with it.

I remember one yt comment assuming that Ghost both OG and reboot had a family of his own as in wife and kids just because he was throwing around dad jokes with Soap back and forth.

It got me thinking then; how? like sure i guess people could assume it's because he wears a mask to stay anonymous but even then it doesn't add up? He's a nobody essentially, a Ghost, he has nothing, no picture on his file, like NOTHING. It is strongly implied that he's hiding his identity for a much bigger and most likely fucked up reason. Also people in the military or undercover covert ops don't wear masks for the sake of protecting their family/loved ones only, we have to remember that not every of these guys are actually good, and this is further reinforced in the MW and other CoD franchises, so yeah, not exactly a GhostSoap topic but more about Ghost himself. Have any thoughts? Feel free to share with us, i love your analyses and interpretations!

The assumption about Ghost having a wife and kids just because he likes dad jokes is well... It's a take.

The fun thing about these sorts of headcanons is that Ghost is just as likely to have a HUSBAND and kids as well. Again it's one of those things where you can think up all sorts of secret "xyz" that Ghost could be hiding. There's nothing proving it isn't wrong, but there's also no real factual basis behind it.

When it comes to spec ops like 141 is and really any SAS/delta aligned operatives is that there's a general OPSEC on these guys already (if we're gonna use the American terminology for this). Meaning that any general public picture/info of these guys working/in uniform etc is already usually scrubbed.

The fact that Ghost is going out of his way to hide his identity means a lot more I think than just hiding love ones away. I mean there's also nothing stopping Price, Gaz or Soap to be hiding loved ones as well and they even mention it in Alejandro's case. And yet none of these guys wear a mask habitually.

Add in Ghost's obvious trust issues, how much he stands apart from people, his hesitance on being a Team and the implication he got betrayed (by someone close, prob teammates), it all paints something a bit different than just hiding an identity purely because some bad men might hunt down your secret family.

Granted, Ghost might be embroiled in some very horrible shit, so maybe the stakes are higher for him. But I think the same could be said of Price. And Price seems far more likely to have a random family cause he's actually approachable/sociable.

But again who knows.

What I can say is that Ghost cares about his appearance standing out. I agree that him wearing a mask just to stay anon actually doesn't make sense. Ghost is very memorable. If he wanted to be discreet, his get up is 'quite the opposite'. There's a mythos behind him.

His very appearance is well thought out; the guy has the most different outfits/setups out of any of the team. The skull mask is painted and hand sewn on. He accessorizes with SKELETON GLOVES too.

Ghost also had a teammate in the past that also currently wears a skull mask. It's possible that 'Ghost' might actually mean more than hiding himself, but perhaps an identity to be used for intimidation.

Perhaps like Cod: Ghost's there's a unit of Ghosts that all wore 09 ghost balaclavas in the past who were famed for being the John wicks of the codmw reboot universe?

There are so many possibilities with the inclusion of Mace and that one statement we got from the Game Dev.

But eh who knows. I could be very wrong too 🤣.

I'd love to know about "Call to Arms" for the WIP round up. FC5 and CoD my beloveds...

Ah yes! I'd love to talk about the Call To Arms duology!

Since there were two versions of CODMW, I had been stuck on doing either the original version or the reboot. Then I remembered, "I'm a fanfic writer, I can have BOTH!" And that's how I ultimately decided to combine both, so that's going to be fun to work out.

Call To Arms is a Call Of Duty Modern Warfare fic which acts as an origin story for Nadi Sinclair, John Seed's second-in-command in my FC5 fics, explaining why Nadi is so willing to sell her soul to John and Eden's Gate and devote herself to their ideals despite the red flags.

Call To Arms is split in two (due to being a duology); the first fic focuses on the first Modern Warfare and setting up the second, acting as a prologue of sorts, while the second fic focuses on both Modern Warfare 2 & 3, where things start taking a turn for the worst. I'll be sticking with the original's timeline (mostly anyway), as the reboot's timeline just doesn't work for Silva's Hope.

Nadi Sinclair is an Iranian-Frenchwoman who joined the French army and eventually got recruited into SAS operations, specifically the 22nd SAS Regiment, due to her exceptional sharpshooting skills, and acts as designated marksman on good days and sniper on bad days. Despite the work she does, she still retains an optimistic and cheerful demeanor, earning her the nickname "Quokka". She's joined alongside one other recruit; Sergeant John "Soap" MacTavish, and are both mentored by SAS Captain John Price and Sergeant Kyle "Gaz" Garrick. The dynamics I'm going for in this group is that Nadi and Soap have this vitriolic sibling energy between them, and are considered the "younger" siblings (being in their early and mid 20s), Gaz the well-behaved one, and Price acting as the big brother everyone looks up to even when he commits the occasional war crime.

There's also Kate Laswell who's the mother hen that covers their asses when they do stupid shit, and checks in on them from time to time to make sure they're all okay. Farah and Alex are the favorite long-distant cousins they wish they got to see more of (with Hadir as the least favorite) and Nikolai is the uncle whose been to prison more than once but does get them out of trouble so he gets a pass, and Griggs is just a stand-up guy who showed up sopping wet like a kitten lost in the rain so they kind of adopted him.

Shepherd also appears a little earlier than he does in both canons (though I'm going for the original MW2 Shepherd as I despise the reboot version) who's either the most impressed dad in the world or the most disappointed. Graves and Valeria are the bad kids who the team want to keep Nadi far away from.

Ghost, Roach, Alejandro, Yuri, and all the others will be introduced in the second fic but while I don't have much to share about their relationship with Nadi now (except that Ghost kind of scares her even though he would absolutely kill anyone who bothered her and help hide the body), I must make this adamantly clear. I do not have any romance at all for this duology, the focus is more on brotherhood/sisterhood. The most you'll get is playful flirting, whatever Alejandro and Valeria got going on, and discussions of Nadi's obvious poor tastes in men and women at her expense (which may explain her crush on a certain Seed brother...).

Makarov is still his horrible self and no one wants him around.

I'm still trying to get things together for this one, I'll need to go on the hunt for the original games (it's... been a while) and replay the reboots (I don't have the third one and while I'm hesitant to get it from what I've heard, I'll do it just for the fic).

on the topic of könig: “omg könig and ghost! tehehe!” ghost is specgru. könig is kortac. they are canonically on opposite sides. there is no situation where they would end up in the same place aside from maybe a war or something.

also there is more than like. five people. on TF141. as much as there can be a small amount of people on a task force, they canonically have around 1000 people internationally that are under the TF141 label.

also note the most recent codmw games are reboots, in case you weren’t aware. also try the old versions!!

on the other side of the coin: i honestly think there’s nothing wrong with simping for/kinning the characters. they’re characters. not real people. as long as it’s not some extreme bullshit like the “könig is 5’10” canon.

also there is nothing wrong with playing both sessions exclusively. less tryhards that way.

since the release of MWII, Soap and Ghost got a hella ton of exposure, appreciation, and fanart. it’s something i have been wanting to see since the original MW series.

going slightly NSFW here, but if you will see barely anything if you were to look for any R34 art of them. the release of MWII and it skyrocketed.

with that said, my hat is off to Infinity Ward for giving them the proper character reboot they deserve. they went their way to completely rewrite Soap and Ghost’s characters to become memorable instead of being… there (like Ghost in the original MW2).

let’s just hope no one dies this time. i need Cpt. Price to with his mates when everything has finally settled (he lost everything and everyone after MW3 and i do not want that to happen again).
