Summary: A new meta with a strange ability has public opinion divided on whether she’s a menace or a miracle-worker. The jury’s still out on the matter when the Snart siblings get caught in her crosshairs. Or: Leonard and Lisa end up temporarily de-aged. It’ll wear off, but in the meantime, Team Flash has to figure out what the heck to do with them and how to keep them safe. Inviting them to live at the West house seems like a natural, if terrible, solution.

So I finally finished it! My hand bound copy of Got A Melancholic Temperament (that’s what they said to me) by @coldtomyflash (aka RedHead on ao3).

It’s not perfect, I messed up on the inside spine a little bit, but I’m really happy with how the cover and the little window for the title came out.

I am terrible at finding fics so I am once again asking you lovely people for help. not sure if I am just not searching hard enough or if this story was deleted. but anyway I think Len got de-aged somehow and the West-Allen household was taking care of him. Len of course was smitten with Barry. there was a lot of good back and forth but when they did finally have sex, the next morning Len was back to his normal age again. I think at one point Barry was afraid he was Len's first but Len assured him he wasn't.

I was rereading @coldtomyflash ‘s ‘An All Too Jagged Snowflake’ this morning over breakfast and MY GOD was that terrible timing because I got NO work done till 10am because I had no choice but to finish the entire thing. Focusing on my semi-active to actively-being-written fics (and not just everything in that folder), we've got:

As you can see, I name my files similar to the fic names themselves. Or more accurately, I often rename my document to the working/actual title of the fic once I foreclose on a title. Or, alternately, name a file as what the fic is about, like "possession fic" being the filename for "like a ghost with two voices". I also marked "folded at the edges" as "complete" for editing purposes since i'm hoping to finish proofreading and get it up in the next day.

these are all supernatural fics (and i'm happy to answer questions about them here or on @dyed-red), but my mostly-stagnant coldflash folder technically/sorta also has:

3-sentence prompts

y'all ever heard of a 3-sentence story? it's basically what it says on the tin: you get a prompt and you write 3 sentences for it. i'm terrible at it (meaning i often write way more than 3 sentences because i tend toward verbosity) but it can be fun.

if you want to drop a 3-sentence prompt in my askbox, go for it.

What to prompt?

i'm open to a lot of variety -- wincest, gencest, weirdcest, any combination of sam, dean, jack, john, mary (if any of y'all are feeling especially spicy lol), and since they're so short can probably open it to sastiel, samwena, sam x ruby, sam x brady too if the urge is strong.

apparently all my dean ships are incest where sam is my fandom bicycle, huh.

gen stuff is also perfectly welcome, and so are other characters (gen) if you've got an itch

cas stuff and cas ships are a-okay, i just won't write d//stiel

(that's not even entirely true, i could do unrequited or a hook up thing so long as wincest is assumed. my only way to read d//stiel is spicy and mean and comes with a wincest backdrop, sorry folks.)

i find this works well with simple prompts or tone/genre words, anything you might see as an ao3 tag, but i'm not fussed about format. AUs don't tend to work in my brain so most often get left on the cutting room floor.

i'm chill with most squicks and triggers so don't worry about dropping dark shit or weird shit in my inbox, but fluff and humor are easy too.

i can't guarantee i'll answer your prompt since i write what something sparks joy / hits my inspiration but i'll try. for any i can't do i'll just post as-is with no reply in case anyone else wants to see or write something on it.

I know some good Barry/Len fics but they normally don’t have him using science. (I love the ship and Len/Barry/Mick, I blame the shows since it got me into Slade/Oliver and Oliver/Barry.) @coldtomyflash @dc-only might know some good ones. Or @gffa but I think she’s mostly batfamily like us and others (I follow a lot of people who like Batfamily.)

I kept writing Slade/Barry and I never read the ship or seen anything with it.

Shoot. What’s the one blog I know that wrote a lot of stuff on the Flash show? Mostly Len/Barry but I can’t remember now if it was one I already mentioned or someone else.

Honestly all the other DC characters ARE stupid compared to the Batfam lol. They are the Batfam. It's their thing and everyone knows it. They are the best. I don't know why people are being upsettero about a fact.

Yeah, the batfam are often put in positions where they are privy to a lot more information compared to other characters. Next to the bats anyone would look like a fool but that's no one's fault.

Anyone would look stupid if they didn't know anything and the person next to them knew everything.

They're all human. Just a bunch of little guys in silly costumes doing silly stuff and being idiots, even the bats!

Do you ever have that moment where two things come together and are forever linked in your brain? Not like some profound insight, just two things that make you go “Yep, those are a pair. They are now married.”

I’ve been reading Got A Melancholic Temperament (that's what they said to me) by Red Head/ @coldtomyflash. Really enjoying this take on Leonard Snart. Yesterday, I also threw the soundtrack to Velvet Goldmine in my CD player on the way to work. And then I hit Bitter-Sweet by The Venus in Furs. And I swear to God, my brain just went “Oh, that’s Len/Lenny’s song.” Like, it was just obvious to some part of me that they went together, though I can’t point to something specific to explain why. And I will never, ever lose the association.

So I’m inflicting it on other people. :)
