I understand that "Free Congo" relates to many years of colonization, but it feels contradictory to use that phrase when we rely on items that contribute to the oppression of the Congolese people. Typing "Free Congo" on an iPhone to post on social media, while the person you're advocating for suffers due to the device's production, seems FUCKED.

Africa as a whole is an extremely exploited continent and we ALL contribute to that, so my question is….. how do we help these people fr? In a way that’s not performative, because I participate in fast fashion trends and I’ve had at least 5 iPhones…. I want to help, but I don’t want to be disingenuous about it. Thoughts??
