I had my own words, blades packed in the mouth, capable of cutting my tongue wide open. I feared speaking them and feared not speaking them, and I knew that, like all things of consequence, they could not be postponed or stored away for later use. If I missed my opportunity now, I thought, I would have to carry those words unspoken forever. Sounds in the dark.

I sort of like the thought that Zuko and Aang take the Sun Warriors' warning not to tell anyone about the dragons a little more seriously… and they keep it between them. Of course, they trust Sokka, Toph and Katara. Of course they know they wouldn’t tell anyone, but now three people (including Iroh) know the truth about Ran and Shaw. And that’s three too many when you’re trying to keep a secret.
(and there are other people at the temple as well - like Haru, Teo and The Duke - who, while trustworthy, aren’t as close to them as the others, and when it comes to secrets with as much consequence as this one, you can’t afford to take any chances.)
Furthermore, the culture within the Fire Nation since Sozin’s rein has been warped. The culture is not to respect the dragons as the original firebenders, it’s to conquer and kill them. It’s the ultimate proof of your strength as a firebender. All it takes is one mistake before rumour spreads, and people go looking for the ultimate hunt. It’s not something Zuko or Aang can risk.
Whether Katara, Toph and Sokka (and Suki) ever find out the truth is up to you. But post-war, after Zuko returns from a strange, poorly explained trip with a dragon, and eventually develops the ability to use rainbow fire, either the others have some questions about Aang’s knowing look, or they are finally let in on a monumental secret.

Your Avendurer! Zenos comics are always so good, and I love how you write him. The touch about him being functionally doomed to immortality is the perfect level of extra spice on top, too. Imo it's the perfect motivation for him to genuinely try to better himself as a person.
Thank you! Tbh the concept has had a hold on my brain since the end of Endwalker, and I'm glad you really enjoy it ^-^
It’s the subtle character development he’s gotten over the course of the story and the potential he has that makes me adore writing Adventurer!Zenos and the journey he has in turn of following the WoL's (Meteor, in my cases) footsteps.
Making himself immortal is actually the main inspiration behind it too, it's a consequence that self-sabotaged his original goal. Maybe eventually becoming a wake up for him that Alisaie was absolutely right and that he may still have an opportunity to not doom himself to being alone forever.
It's actually why I also made him a tank too, having him turn away from being "the man who was willing to destroy the world for his own chase of his desires" to him being willing to throw himself in and to help and protect others even at the cost of himself for a time, a thought that has stuck with me since the theory of him saving WoL with the remote crossed my mind.

When people decide to be audacious with their disrespect, you have a right to be courageous with your boundaries. You do not owe kindness to anyone who treats you with contempt. Teach people that there are consequences for their actions toward you.

" i am so sorry, for everything. " - from hylia!
Ask Meme -- @shathyar
Link's lips press together, a fury burning in his blue eyes as he scowls at the great goddess statue. This does not have the same vague statement as before when he prays at the smaller statues for energy or endurance. No, this is a reply to an unspoken question, an accusation he has truly yet to voice, but she gives the reply anyway. Finally she dares to truly speak, deigning him with a response after so many years of silence! But why on earth should she even speak to him when she refused to say anything to her--to Zelda?
He stands in the same place Zelda stood not so long before, the waters of the Spring of Power circling chill against his thighs, cold despite the warmth of the air around him. And he remembers Zelda's prayers from long ago in that very spot, scowling at the emotionless face.
Hand sweeps away from his temple, thumb and pinky finger sticking out. << Why? >> he snaps--the summation of so many questions. Why hadn't she answered Zelda? Why did she allow this to happen? Why is she only just replying now? Pointing at the statue, he taps his temple before his hand curls into a fist, working a circle on his chest. Fisted hand sweeps out from under his chin, thumb sticking out. Right hand curls into a fist which he sweeps the top over with his left hand. << You know sorry is not enough. >>

fics where Grian joins later than Season 6 are terrifying to me. Admirable, but I have no clue how authors get past that mental block of everything he contributed to the past seasons?? like there probably wouldn’t be the wars/they wouldn’t be near as big. maybe I just think about the butterfly effect too much but a Hermitcraft season 7/8/9 where Grian wasn’t there from the start??? would it even look the same? Like - he’s not the main character, obviously, but even just.. the effect of folks missing a friend, missing his input, missing his hijinks and the community events like tag that he set up?? It’s definitely different

Still Water
The stage is ablaze, the crowd roars.
The world is a Les Paul guitar, plugged to an amp with the knob on high gain setting and wailing like a bat out of hell, scathing pitch harmonics and roaring dive bombs from a whammy bar trampling down on a poor guitarist playing bebop scales on an acoustic guitar, that’s what shortcuts and deceit do over honesty and integrity and while the latter may not…

VIII. Strength
Medium: Digital
Key Words: Fierce, Endurance, Courage, Apprehensive, Doubtful, Anxious
Description: People often find themselves torn on whether to act or remain passive. However we do not fear the action itself, but the consequences. We fear that in tempting to conquer one enemy we will be forced to face the wrath of the other. Here too, the fish man stares with freshly bloodied hands, surrounded by the evidence and guilt of what he’s done, while encircled by the other eel. In trying to claim the life of the first eel, he’s found himself facing another but with blood in the water. There’s a sense of doubt on his face, perhaps regret at what he’s done.

Good Traits Gone Bad
Exploring good traits gone bad in a novel can add depth and complexity to your characters. Here are a few examples of good traits that can take a negative turn:
1. Empathy turning into manipulation: A character with a strong sense of empathy may use it to manipulate others' emotions and gain an advantage.
2. Confidence becoming arrogance: Excessive confidence can lead to arrogance, where a character belittles others and dismisses their opinions.
3. Ambition turning into obsession: A character's ambition can transform into an unhealthy obsession, causing them to prioritize success at any cost, including sacrificing relationships and moral values.
4. Loyalty becoming blind devotion: Initially loyal, a character may become blindly devoted to a cause or person, disregarding their own well-being and critical thinking.
5. Courage turning into recklessness: A character's courage can morph into reckless behavior, endangering themselves and others due to an overestimation of their abilities.
6. Determination becoming stubbornness: Excessive determination can lead to stubbornness, where a character refuses to consider alternative perspectives or change their course of action, even when it's detrimental.
7. Optimism becoming naivety: Unwavering optimism can transform into naivety, causing a character to overlook dangers or be easily deceived.
8. Protectiveness turning into possessiveness: A character's protective nature can evolve into possessiveness, where they become overly controlling and jealous in relationships.
9. Altruism becoming self-neglect: A character's selflessness may lead to neglecting their own needs and well-being, to the point of self-sacrifice and burnout.
10. Honesty becoming brutal bluntness: A character's commitment to honesty can turn into brutal bluntness, hurting others with harsh and tactless remarks.
These examples demonstrate how even admirable traits can have negative consequences when taken to extremes or used improperly. By exploring the complexities of these traits, you can create compelling and multi-dimensional characters in your novel.
Happy writing!
