Solar Return Observations
Please do not repost anything that I write on any other social media platform.
It’s common to move homes if you have your solar return Saturn, Uranus or Moon conjunct the IC in the solar return chart.
When your Solar Return Sun is in your 6th house you may begin a new exercise regimen or start to take your health very seriously this year. Weight loss is often accompanied by this placement. (Unless you have your Solar Return Jupiter conjunct the Ascendant or 6th house cusp)
If your Solar Return Midheaven is in the same sign as your Natal Midheaven. Something significant is likely to happen in relation to your career, worldly status or your reputation. You may reach a new career height (major promotion)or perhaps you go from being engaged to married etc…
When your Solar Return Jupiter is in your Solar Return 2nd house, you are likely going to make more money this year. Please note, that the change is not always this extreme change in finances (that’s Pluto). It’s most often a subtle increase in finances.
When your Solar Return Midheaven is in Leo, you will often become more well known in your career field. Alternatively, something significant may occur in your life that becomes public knowledge with this placement.
If your Solar Return Jupiter is in your 3rd house, and you own your own business, you will likely see an increase in sales unless Jupiter is afflicted.
If Your Solar Return Venus is conjunct you Solar Return Sun in the 8th house of your Solar Return chart. You will likely see an increase in your finances or your sexual experiences.
The year in which your Solar Return sun is in your 12th house, is likely the year in which you will become very interested in astrology, spiritually etc.. This can also be a year in which you become more introspective and reclusive.
When you have your Solar Return Venus or Sun in the 5th house, you may begin casually dating this year or going out more/investing in your hobbies.
When your Solar Return Sun is in your 3rd house, you may find that your day to day life becomes very busy. You may feel as if you are always “on the go” during this solar return year. This is also a good time to enroll in a short course, start a blog, or work on growing your social media. (Venus or Jupiter here will also increase this effect)
The year you have your solar return Neptune making a conjunction to your Solar Return Midheaven, may be a year in which you feel lost, in terms of your career or life’s direction. Alternatively, this may be a year in which you pursue a career in the arts or anything related to spirituality or healing.
When your Solar Return Neptune is in your 1st house or making a conjunction to your Ascendant, you may find yourself taking more pictures of yourself that year.
An 11th house stellium in your Solar Return will likely be a year in which you work really hard towards achieving your goals. You are likely to be reaping the benefits for all your hard work (career-related) . This is especially true if you have a benefic (Jupiter or Venus) in your Solar Return 2nd house.
The year in which you have Chiron in the 9th house in your solar return, may be the year in which you drop out of college. Alternatively, something significant (painful or healing) may happen to you in relation to your religious or philosophical beliefs that year.

Lmao a movie featuring majority black and brown characters - most of whom are teens - and I've seen fetishization and disrespect of darker skin tones on levels you wouldn't believe in just a matter of weeks. When I say fandom is a microcosm of real-life dynamics and that it will always replicate antiblackness I'm not talking out my ass here
#tip: i am so fucking mad#this was supposed to be a lot of black and brown ppls safe space!!#but y'all aren't normal and only view us as material for masturbatory content#FUCK yall this is why i rarely engage w wider fandom#blabbering#spiderman across the spiderverse

Synastry
Ascendant in partners Houses🤍
I thought I’d switch it up a bit and post something a little different to what I usually post! I hope you all enjoy this! Please note that this post is specifically referring to romantic synastry🤍
Ascendant in Partners 1st House:
With this overlay, there is a sense of like-mindedness between both people. The house person sees the ascendant person as someone they have a lot in common with. Perhaps they have similiar life experiences, or it could be that they approach the world in a similar way. These two people are often bonded by a sense of familiarity. Since, the 1st house is ruled by Aries, the Ascendant person can motivate the house person to achieve their goals or to seek independence. There’s a natural and effortless resonance between the two.
Ascendant in Partners 2nd House:
The house person is likely to view the ascendant person as being someone that they value. Since the 2nd house also governs over possessions, the house person is likely to feel quite possessive over the ascendant person. This is also a very physically affectionate placement, and thus the house person is likely to be physically drawn to the ascendant person. The 2nd house also governs finances. It is possible that the house person feels the need to spend money on the Ascendant person. Alternatively, it could just be that the ascendant person, has a profound impact on the house persons finances.
Ascendant in partners 3rd House:
This is often a very communicative placement. The Ascendant person stimulates the house persons mental and communicative desires. It is possible that the house person really enjoys speaking with the ascendant person, or perhaps they find their conversation easy and intellectually stimulating. The third house is also the house of siblings. Thus, the house person may feel a familial or sibling-like bond with the ascendant person. This isn’t necessarily the most ‘romantic’ placement. However, this is an amazing overlay for those who value communication in relationships, and learning from their partners. The house person may also want to embark on short-trips with the Ascendant person with this overlay. It is also possible that these two met in an educational setting or they may come from the same neighborhood/community.
Ascendant in partners 4th house:
To put it simply, the Ascendant person feels like ‘home’ to the house person. This can obviously be a good or a bad thing depending on the house persons childhood and their familial experiences. However, on a more positive note, there is a sense of familiarity and comfort that the ascendant person provides to the house person. It is also possible that these two may actually live together or share a home. Alternatively, the Ascendant person may encourage the house person to explore their roots (physical & emotional). The house person may even see the ascendant person as someone they can open up to emotionally.
Ascendant in partners 5th house:
This is a very ‘fun’ and light-hearted overlay. The house person often sees the ascendant person as someone they can be creative with, or just simply have a good time with. These two likely met on a night out, or perhaps they met in an environment that values creativity or children. The ascendant person encourages the house person to explore their creativity and their ‘fun side’. This is also an overlay that indicates physical/sexual attraction. However, this attraction is more of a short-term, ‘no strings attached’ kind of dynamic. This overlay can indicate someone who you have a brief, but very enjoyable ‘fling’ with.
Ascendant in partners 6th house:
The ascendant person has a profound impact on the productivity of the house person. Perhaps the ascendant person helps the house person with their errands or pets. These two may even be ‘fitness’ or health & wellness buddies! Depending on the aspects, the ascendant person can increase or decrease the house persons productivity. It is also possible that these two are co-workers, or they met whilst they are at work. The house person may also want to find ways to make the ascendant persons life ‘easier’. This could be by driving them places, or relieving them from some of their daily tasks!
Ascendant in partners 7th house:
The 7th house is the house of partnerships, but it is also the house of open enemies. In this instance, the house person often sees the ascendant person as being the physical embodiment of what they seek in a long-term partner. The manner in which the ascendant person presents themselves, is very attractive to the house person, as they see the ascendant person as someone who they can commit to. However, if things turn left, the house person may quite literally view the ascendant person as their ‘open enemy’. This overlay is common in committed romantic relationships, or well established business partnerships.
Ascendant in partners 8th house:
This is an overlay than can be intense for both parties. The house person sees the ascendant person as someone who has the potential to influence them on a very deep and profound level. It is possible that the house person finds the ascendant person to be very sexually attractive. It could also mean that the ascendant person introduces the house person to topics that involve psychology, transformation, the occult and matters pertaining to shared resources. The 8th house is a house that is characterized by extremes. Thus, the house person is inclined to view the ascendant person in manners that can be considered ‘extreme’ at times. They may research things together, or perhaps the ascendant person may conscious or unconsciously trigger the house persons shadow-side. In a sexual relationship, this is a very beneficial overlay to have, as the house person is likely to be very sexually attracted to the ascendant person.
Ascendant in partners 9th house:
The ascendant person expands the house persons horizons (literally and metaphorically speaking). It’s possible that the ascendant person challenges the house persons beliefs, and encourages them to consider different perspectives. They may have met whilst at college, or perhaps when travelling abroad. The house person learns a lot whilst they are with the ascendant person, and they may even place them on a pedestal. In most cases, the house person views the ascendant person in a positive light, and they may feel as if they learn a lot by being around them. Thus, the ascendant person opens the house person up to new ways of thinking & being. These two may travel long distances together.
Ascendant in partners 10th house:
With this overlay, the house person is likely to view the ascendant person as someone who has the potential to help them in their career, or someone who can be very beneficial when it comes to their reputation. This is the ultimate ‘trophy’ placement, as the house person will enjoy being seen out and about with the ascendant person. The ascendant person may come up with ways in which the house person can advance on their career path. The 10th house also represents “authority figures”. Thus, in rare instances the partner may actually be someone who was the house persons boss, or a senior in their workplace. Alternatively, this placement can sometimes indicate a significant age gap. But the most common manifestation is helping each other advance in a career context. Changes in reputation (the house persons) by association with the ascendant person is also a possible manifestation
Ascendant in partners 11th House:
This overlay is characterized by friendship and shared goals. The house person is likely to view the ascendant person as someone they have the potential to build a great friendship with. In a romantic context, the house person is likely to feel as if the ascendant person is their friend as much as they are their lover. They may have even met online or through mutual friends. Shared goals or the mutual desire to work on a project that benefits the masses is also a possibility. These two may engage in philanthropic work or community service together. This is a very beneficial placement when it comes to friendship and the house persons goals & dreams. The ascendant person, may open doors for the house person, or provide them with opportunities that get them closer to attaining their worldly ambitions.
Ascendant in partners 12th house:
The 12th house is a hidden house. However, it also represents spirituality, bed pleasures, and “hidden enemies”. Thus, the ascendant person is likely to introduce the house person to spirituality or the unseen realms. It is possible that these two may feel a spiritual or “otherworldly” connection to each other. The house person may feel very drawn to the ascendant person and not know why. In some instances, the house person may feel suspicious or mistrustful of the ascendant person. It could also mean they met in an environment that was secluded or in a ‘faraway land’. Since the 12th house governs ‘faraway lands’. In some instances, the ascendant person may even trigger the house persons ‘spiritual awakening’. The 12th house is a murky house, and thus interactions or the intentions between these two may be unclear at times. However, there is also the potential for a relationship that’s filled with compassion, grace, and understanding to develop.

Tumblr tip sheet for twitter refugees
i’ve seen a lot of different advice posts but none that had what i consider all the key advice in one spot, so here we are. long post ahead.
-
1. your dash can be put into reverse chronological order and it is a BETTER experience if you do that
Go to your settings -> Dashboard -> Preference
Turn “Best Stuff First” OFF
2. you can (and likely should!) turn off algorithmic content
Under the same menu. Settings -> Dashboard -> Preferences
There are two algorithms on tumblr.
One is “In your orbit” and I fucking hate it. i want to see the content that I like, not that some random person i follow likes. if i wanted to see that content on my dash, i’d follow the people who put it there.
The other is “based on your likes” and it is hilariously bad because if you like a post for something you don’t normally like or follow (e.g., when I watched a new movie and liked one post about it), you’ll suddenly get a dozen posts about that thing and only that thing.
I keep it on because it’s hilariously bad, but i honestly recommend turning it off. it routinely recommends shit to me that i hate and i have to keep telling it that i am “not interested in this post” for things tagged with my nOTP, but until / unless i filter that ship tag out entirely, i will keep being serviced those
3. filtering / blacklisting is your friend
this is true on every platform, not just tumblr. i’m sure veteran twitter users are well-versed in it, but just as a reminder. you will be expected to filter your own content/dash here on tumblr, and if you complain about seeing something that was properly tagged, you will be rightly mocked as a clown.
Settings -> Account -> Content You See
you can filter both tags and post content. There’s a completely innocuous post i absolutely hate that does rounds and is never tagged, and i almost unfollowed a mutual for how much i hate that post and them reblogging it so much. but i typed a specific sentence from that post into the “filtered post content” options and BOOM - haven’t seen it since. glorious.
4. content controls are your friend
under the same “Content You See” menu. You are automatically opted OUT of seeing this stuff, so you MUST opt in to see mature content.
you’ll want to determine your own preferences, but i prefer to see all of the mature content types that may be hit with a community label.
5. long posts are (probably) your friend
tumblr cuts posts over a few lines if you have this turned off, and it’s really annoying and really truncates your experience of the website. THIS is itself a long post!
part of the quintessential tumblr experience is being annoyed by the “do you love the color of the sky” post.
seriously, this isn’t twitter. we aren’t here for 280 character bite-sized posts. i 10/10 recommend keeping long posts on.
Settings -> Dashboard -> Interface
6. blog-specific settings
there is also a menu for additional settings (including updating the appearance etc) for each blog you have (your main, and any sideblogs).
this is near the end of your options under Settings -> Blog Settings (click the individual blog to update)
under your blog settings you can...
- enable your custom theme (which you should! this is turned off for new users but personalizing your page is part of the experience)
- decide if you want people to know what posts you’re liking and who you’re following. i do NOT, so these are off. internet privacy is allowed on tumblr, and don’t let anyone bully you into thinking you need to make everything public for their supervision. consume all the problematic content your little gremlin content desires and tell people to fuck off if they take issue with that.
- determine if and how others can interact with your blog!! there some settings about asks, messaging, tipping (if you’re here to make $$), whether people can even SEE your blog, if it’s searchable, etc. tumblr gives power and control back to the users! use that power!
here, you can specifically set your “Ask” preferences to on or off, and to accept or NOT accept asks from anonymous users / logged out users.
if you’re here to interact with friends or just vibe, or don’t reblog a lot of asks games or encourage anon inbox messages, and/or especially if you’re getting harasment and don’t want to deal with shitty users, it is okay to turn off anons, and i ENCOURAGE you to do so.
i keep it on for my fandom sideblogs and off for my main and this makes me happy. do what makes you happy.
7. etiquette and interface
- change your icon so no one thinks you’re a bot
- reblog posts so your account isn’t empty. also, with algorithmic content turned off by most users, YOU are the algorithm, and interaction on this website is strongly encouraged. making or reblogging posts part of the experience and sort of the whole point
- reblog tagging: individual preferences apply. instead of adding a comment on a reblog, users will often add their thoughts in a tag, if they aren’t specifically looking to engage in a dialogue or add on to the post itself. other users can then decide to copy their tags (often with “prev” for “previous” appended) or even copy/paste them into a comment on their reblog, which is your tags “passing peer review”. people also tag to index posts so their blog is more searchable, and to include trigger warnings and content warnings related to a post. you can also choose to not tag anything. it’s your blog, do what you want.
- tags are how people find new content. if you make a new post and want people to find it, they will be searching the tag related to that content, so tag it accordingly. people can also follow tags and get notifications when new posts are made into that tag.
- do not censor words! this isn’t tiktok or twitter. we say ‘fuck’ and ‘kill’ here. if you write “unalive” or censor swears or triggers, people’s content filters do not work, and you will have undermined their ability to curate their content, moderate their experience, and avoid triggers. don’t do that. just spell out the whole goddamn word, please.
- you can make sideblogs under a single account! this means you have your main, which you interact (like, reply, and follow) from, but which can be used to have a space for all your posts and reblogs on a given topic (fandom, hobby, fixation, whatever). you can also direct message to/from a sideblog and accept asks etc.
- if you use tumblr in your browser, there is an add-on called XKIT. this used to be a tumblr user staple and allowed for a lot of functionality that tumblr didn’t used to have. tumblr has since very much upped their game, but it can still be worth using XKIT if you’re regularly in a browser and not on the app. for example, it includes some ad-blocking capabilities. I use “New Xkit” and have a few personalized settings with it.
- posts go around forever on this site and new memes crop up every day, retreat, and then resurge out of the blue randomly. this makes for tumblr-wide in-jokes that circulate for years, like “do you love the color of the sky” and the “color theory children’s hospital” post. if you don’t get these, you can ask and i’m sure tumblr will deliver, but you can also wait around and follow more people and these will turn up eventually.
- your dash is what you make it. your interaction is what you make it. you have control, you are not at the mercy of algorithms and advertisers if you don’t want to be. paying for ad-free browsing is an option. they even give you the option to toggled your ad settings within ad-free browsing. seriously - you. have. the. control.
this is something that we love about tumblr and one of the things that makes it our hellsite (affectionate) instead of our hellsite (derogatory). if you’re finding your experience to be negative but still want to stick around, i encourage you to block accounts or content that makes you unhappy or anxious, to follow the accounts that bring you joy, and to adjust your settings into whatever makes you happiest and least stressed out.
#tumblr#twitter#twitter refugees#tumblr tips#fellow tumblr veterans what did i miss?#long post#long post for ts#ts was tumblr savior aka an extension from about a decade ago that people used for content filtering#i think before xkit existed?#and some of us still use the 'for ts' tags because people use to blacklist/filter content based on that wording#i guess it's not really needed for long posts anymore since people can turn those off in their dash preferences now#but old habits die hard#anyway this barely touches on the unique tumblr culture but i hope that culture sticks around despite an influx of new users

✧☆Introduction to Set Up☆✧
Everyone starts somewhere! Setting up for a ritual can be a whole process that some look forward to, some dread, and others simply see as part of the process. This can apply for home grown or found rituals alike. More ceremonial practices might have their own rules for how one should set up for their rituals that are specific to them, but if you are making your own, you own this part of the process too.
Cleansing and Warding
More often than not you’re going to want to cleanse and ward a space before you do a spell. This cleans the slate and readies the space for your intent. This is also when you might ward against unwelcome spirits or against those who might seek to undermine your working. While not everyone is going to make a hobby of making enemies of other witches, the person undermining your working might even be yourself, your own self doubt, your own conflicted wishes. This is the moment you leave that at the door. Cleanse out what does not serve you, ward against it while you work, and have faith in yourself to carry through unimpeded. This is your space now.
Who, What, When, Where, and Why?
Who?
Who is going to be part of a spell can range from a group to those who will be present metaphysically. Your guides might be part of this process, your friends might be apart of the process. You may even say a prayer to ask a deity or similar entity for their help with the proceedings. Regardless, those who are present should know that this is what is happening. You largely don’t want anyone interrupting.
What?
Spellwork often involves materials or other objects that correspond with what you are trying to do. This is your substance. These are your elements. You may want to make a checklist of all the components you will need, or construct the spell where you keep all of your witchy objects to have it be burnt, buried, or returned to nature to complete your spell. This is going to vary by spell. Other things to consider are what you have your spell in, what you plan to do with it after, and how this can be done. (You wouldn’t bury forever a non-biodegradable vessel or burn something that produces toxic gas for example.)
When?
Those who prescribe more to astrology are going to use the position of the stars or phases of the moon to decide when to perform a spell. Those that follow the equinoxes/ solstices, or the wheel of the year might pick times when the veil (the separation between the physical and the metaphysical) is thinner. Those that follow saints or other religions might pick specific holidays to plan for when their guides, patrons, or deities will be able to offer them the most assistance.
Where?
Many witches take to doing their craft in their home, and will have an altar of sorts that they do their spellwork around. However, many practitioners will also take into account place as an aspect of their working. They may go out into the woods to get more help from nature or take advantage of very old corresponding trees that they don’t have to take clippings from in order to utilize. It also might be the best way to find a space that you can temporarily designate as your own, or where you won’t be bothered.
The ease of using an altar means that you have to be less concerned about not having everything with you that you plan to use. If this is the case you can have everything set up ahead of time, or just in reach for when you need it. However, if you plan to go somewhere else, you might want to pack a travel altar (a smaller, often easily concealable, altar to take with you). This will act as your witchy toolbox.
Why?
Setting up as a process is important to many for a variety of personal reasons. As you progress as a witch you may do more rituatual preparation or you may do less. It can help get you in the right headspace, involve divination to decide if it’s worth it, or just be a more literal act of preparing tools, objects, and a clean quiet space. Your reasons are your own, and all of them are completely valid ways to approach the craft.
Sealing and Taking Down
Once you’ve sealed, signifying that this now comes to a close you may want to start undoing everything you’ve put up to perform the spell. This begins the process of returning the space to the way it was prior. If this is your home it might include taking down the warding around the spell. If this is out in nature remember to take only memories and leave only footprints. Usually in the reverse order that you put everything up. I still use righty-tighty lefty-loosey. Many also cleanse the space afterwards.
I have a tendency to leave things for a few days the way they are because I have the executive function of a goldfish, but whether you do this can depend heavily on location, living situation, and how much you put up in the first place. If most of what you did was clean the house and light some candles this isn’t a big deal, but if there are tripping hazards, something a child or pet could get into, or something that could attract wild animals, you’re probably going to want to be prompt with taking it down.

Manifestation tip:
When you find a method that you like and you believe that works, GET THE FUCK OUT OF TUMBLR, YT, TWITTER AND ANYTHING ELSE RELATED TO LOAS AND START MANIFESTING.
I'm saying this because yesterday I found out about the 10k affirmations challenge, today I started affirming and then I went on tumblr.
Everything seemed fine, untill I saw one person saying "why people are doing this challenge when there's this, and that…" and shit like that.
I ignored it, kept scrolling and there were more people shitting on this challenge.
I know it can be pretty demoralizing, so don't even bother reading other's people opinions on your method. It's your method and your rules.
So get off social media, start manifesting whatever you want however you want, and come back only when you have a success story.

CC-004 Creating Content Be Kind. Source.
Sourcing your posts isn’t just smart, it’s also the right thing to do. For content creators, it means getting credit for what you make. It’s also etiquette when you post content from other sites.
Every Tumblr post allows you to add a source at the bottom of the post. If you're reblogging a post, the source might already be included. If you’re uploading your own content, you’ll want to add your blog as a source. Here’s how to add a source to your post.
Desktop
Click the gear icon in the top right corner
Click next to “Content source”
Add the source link. If it’s your content, put your blog URL
Mobile
Tap the three dots next to “Post”
Tap “Content source”
Add the source link. If it’s your content, put your blog URL

Your latest update has me in awe oh my fuck
Any tips for rendering? The way you did the fairy/slate lighting is so pretty!!
Also the seeing the differences between pre and post calamity slate when you put them right next to each other is so good 😩👌🏼
thank you so much! I can go through how I colored one of the panels if that's helpful! This is the method I use for the whole comic.
I chose this panel since it's got fairy lighting. under the cut!
This is what my layer structure looks like in Clip Studio Paint EX. The layers marked in red are clipped to the BASE layer, meaning that they will only fill inside the lines of that layer. This makes the process SO much easier. You can clip layers to the layer below by clicking this icon at the top of the layer panel.
This is what the base layer looks like, just filling in the lines:
Then, I add flat colors:
I don't always do this, but for this setting I added a teal/green tint with the blending mode set to Vivid Light 16% opacity. Soft Light, Hard Light or Overlay are also good for this I usually just toggle until I decide one looks best:
I then add a layer filled completely with a shadow color set to multiply, usually lowering the opacity depending on how intense I want the shadows to be. I then add a layer mask (also at the top of the layers panel, it looks like a white rectangle with a dark circle in the middle) which allows me to mask out the shadow shapes without actually erasing anything on the color layer. This makes it easy to make changes!
Then I add in the lighting by taking a big airbrush and lightly coloring in my light color from the direction I want the light to be coming. I set the blending mode to Add (Glow) because it create a nice glowy effect and lower the opacity as needed:
Sometimes I will go and add little shiny details to the hair, and in this case reflected light/glow from the water below:
For the fairy light, I use the same Add (Glow) method as the other lighting, using pink this time and focusing only on the areas that would receive the glow:
And finally, I add some pink shine on the edges. I don't line the whole edge, but choose peaks the light would catch:
And that's it! I don't always do this many layers, most panels really only need the SHADOW and LIGHT layer and maybe a bit of hair shine. layer masks are SO helpful i highly recommend utilizing them. I'm always happy to answer questions on main if people want to know more about my process <3
