TMAG Theory Board Update (EP 11-12)

Hi guys sorry about the late posting I've just started a new quarter of college and its been pretty hectic. also got into my school design BFA program so pretty stoked about that! Anyways lets get into the Episode Breakdowns because even though not a lot of lore related things happened I still have a lot to talk about

For the breakdown I'll separate each by episode in sequential order

What Happened in Episode 11: Marked

Celias Rude Awakening- we jump right into the weirdness straight away with Celia waking up on the side of the interstate. she indicates that this is not a weird occurrence and ends the scene by telling someone named Jack that she's "on her way." If you remember episode 8 after Celia and Sam talk to Gerry and Gertrude, she mentions stuff about wanting help with her own mystery. When Sam asks about it she says she's looking into Time travel, other dimentions and teleportation. Many people have theorized that maybe Celia is just a super heavy sleepwalker, but I think the she teleports random places out of nowhere. This could be a side effect of her reality hopping if this Celia is originally from The archives universe.

As for the identity of Jack I'm not quite sure about that yet. I cross referenced the name Jack with past episodes of TMA. The only thing that came up was Jack Barnabas from the statement about dating Agnes Montague (aka an avatar of the desolation and Jesus-like figure for the cult of the lightless flame) So Unless Celia is secretly Agnes of Agnes reincarnated , I can't find any way to link Barnabas to Celia. (if anyone has a theory feel free to send it my way.)

Sam Lore- this one is pretty minor story-wise but I thought it was interesting. Before the statement for the episode is presented we get some classic Sam and Alice Banter ™ most of it is pretty lighthearted but I noticed Sam mention something that could indicate he might be an amputee.

These could not mean anything and I find it weird that it hasn't been mentioned until now but thought it was kind of cool and I will probably be drawing sam with a prothetic leg in the future cause I really like this head-canon. It also begs to question if he is missing a leg. it might have anything to do with his past as a Magnus institute test subject but then again could just be a fun character detail added by Jonny and/or Alex .

The Statement- Getting into the statement we get another Ink5oul appearance. Also possible Ink5oul identifying as she/they. (and lets be honest being a fear avatar is pretty non binary core). I found this Episode gave me a feeling of a hybrid between the Vast, Buried and the Flesh some people are theorizing that is might be a new entity called the Deep but I think that the fear of the ocean could easily apply to the vast or buried. Not much to say about this story though pretty standard Magnus horror that also gave us a hint to what Ink5oul's goal could be/which entity they serve.

Post Bonzo- Gwen has a debrief with Lena after her first Externals Liason assignment and her meeting with Mr. Bonzo. Undoubtedly Gwen is still pretty shaken from her encounter, even arriving late to work due to sleeplessness. Gwen is able to ask Lena a few questions mainly she wanted to know who's name was written on the letter given to Bonzo

Lena is largely unhelpful but tells Gwen she should have worked it out by now and if not to pay close attention to the case load for the next couple of days. before the latest episode my guess was Klaus because that is the only person mentioned so far that the OIAR intends to kill. but more on that later

Marked- Now were getting to my favorite thing about this episode. This episode title can have two meanings. The first is the more literal interpretation. Tattoos are marking of the body and the case this episode was all about tattoos so easily a good name would be marked. But I believe this is a red herring meant to misguide listeners who have not consumed all 200 episodes of TMA because if you know the world of Magnus Archives the term Marked takes on a entirely different meaning.

In TMA the term marked is used to indicate that somebody has been influenced by one or more or the fears and are one their way to becoming an Avatar. I think this could be a coded way to tell the audience someone in the OIAR has been marked. I have two potential candidates

Alice Dyer- Alice has been having dreams about the Institute after her and Sam's adventure into the ruins. also she mentions feeling like someone's watching her (common to people influenced or fed upon by the Ceaseless Watcher/The Eye) My guess if she is marked it would be by the Eye.

Gwendolyn Bouchard: Probably the most likely culprit. The main way an entitly tends to mark people is through encounters with other avatars. Gwen has just had an encounter with Mr Bonzo last episode who I strongly believe must be an avatar of some sort.

What Happened in Episode 12: Getting Off

Aww Sam!!- Sam asked Celia out and it was adorably awkward. not much to say I just loved this interaction and I'm longing for a new Magnus brand office romance hopefully is wont be an agonizing slowburn that ends tragically like a certain pair of morons from Archives (I love you Jon and Martin but Jesus christ)

It's Bonzo time bitches!!- Probably one of the most gruesome Magnus statement I've ever listened to (good work Alex) Mr Bonzo completely annihilated some poor dude at his bachelor party. Based on the date of the Incident the I can confidently say that whoever Baz (the groom) was he was our mystery person the OIAR sent Mr Bonzo to get rid of. Along with some of the bloodiest imagery we learned a few things about Bonzo. The most interesting detail is that Bonzo has to be summoned by playing his theme song I think the CD of his theme song acts somewhat like the tapes did in TMA by materialising out of nowhere. Also fun fact you know that torn seam that is right down Bonzo's middle? that is actually is his mouth lined with rows sharp teeth so I guess I know that now (so fun) Moral of the story dont f*ck with Mr. Bonzo

Alice knows something: Theres been this recurring audio glitch throughout TMAGP thatnks to a few extremly observent fans we have started to relize that these glitches are not at all random and are actually letting the audience know when a character is lying (i actually reposted somones deepdive into all the istances of this glitch so far if you guys are intrested in knowing more) why i bring this up now is becuase since we know when any charater is lying we also know when they are being truthful if there is no glitch when they say somthing and at the end of this episode this interaction occurs

Alice goes ahead and makes a joke about this to annoy Gwen but the fact theres no audio glitch when she says "I know" means she does actually know who is behind the OIAR and is activly refusing to share it with Gwen or the others. What do you know Alice!?

and that's about it im already loving these next batch of episodes and am so excited to learn more (ERROR has to show up somtime )

First Impressions Reading

Notes--

Hey, it's been a while!

I've been MIA for practically a year due to work, poor health, and school. Thankfully, I've recovered from the aftermath of working that job, I'm still figuring out my health, but my studies are almost officially over leaving me with time to get back into tarot reading once again (yay!).

I've kind of changed up my reading style so if you're familiar with my old readings I'd love to know what you think of this style vs my old style. I don't think it's that different, but who knows.

Anyways, I think that's all the housekeeping for today. The usual disclaimer is at the bottom, enjoy your reading!

Pile One

Hi Pile One! So just an fyi, I feel like what I’m picking up on in this reading is multiple first impressions? I know that doesn’t sound like it makes any sense. But your reading I feel picks up a lot on your person’s past at first and then a romantic/companionship first impression later? Like a friends-to-lovers kind of thing.

Right off the bat I feel like your first impression of your future spouse is startling. As I’m shuffling the cards are jumping out, I’m get startled, I’m trembling. But it’s not necessarily in a bad way. Looking at the cards, the ‘vibes’ are complex. The cards flip over but stay hidden in the deck. Oddly enough, it’s not the cards with negative connotations, but positive ones. Like your person hides the better parts of them… maybe in the name of vulnerability.

When you meet you can sense they're healing from something upon first impressions. Your person may have walked away from a lifestyle that many would desire or some kind of association with wealth that was actually killing them from the inside out. From your first one-on-one interaction, you can tell that the wild inside them that’s had to escape and survive gets triggered easily. It may show up in their work or their self-talk. You can see they’re trying to fight their inner battles, but they may need a friend to help them do so.

You may meet them at the end of a significant period of healing for them when they have to face the heavy stuff of their past. You may feel like their perspective of life, be it all of it or one aspect, isn’t very fair. I don’t want to say they have a pessimistic view of life in general, but maybe their life in particular. To you, one bad thing happening doesn’t mean the end of the world but for them it does. Initially, you might not think they care to hear what anyone has to say but that is untrue. They might simply be off in their own world as most of the people on the cards are looking down or turned away, yet their cards symbolise openness and communication. For some of you, your person may just be shy and it’s easy to pick up on in your first meeting.

When the time comes to show interest in a romantic/companionship relationship, they might approach the subject gently. They’d want to be your knight in shining armour (as in they want to take care of you even though you can handle it yourself), but they recognize that as much as they’ve made progress, they still have some healing to do. Once they’ve gone through the darker stuff, they have a much lighter energy to them. You can see it in their appearance, habits, speech and general demeanour. You may notice that they are more spiritual (by your own personal definition). Pile Two

Pile two, I am loving you person’s energy! This person is calm, cool and collected. They’re not one to tell out all their secrets and they are 100% in their power. There are a lot of hands in the cards as well as imagery of fencing to enclose something. Your person may quickly and easily give off vibes of being guarded as people may chase after them and what they offer.

Your person gives off vibes of being hardworking and they definitely are. However, you can tell they work so hard one of the first thoughts to cross your mind will probably have something to do with “they’re gonna burn out if they don’t relax”. Them burning out isn’t something that happens often tough and when they do, they hide it well. People, yourself included, may wonder how this person can juggle so many things at once so well. I think for many of you, this person might come into your life when you’re least expecting it. They feel fated… You’ve got the Wheel of Fortune so it’s like meeting this person was going to happen regardless. They most likely will feel like the start of a new beginning. It’s not a prominent feeling, but you will be able to recognise that something inside you shifts.

Your person is someone who upon first meeting changes your perspective. For some, they may spark the desire to improve in some format. They may be older and/or wiser, but you can tell it came from hard work and hard life experiences. Okay so meeting in a kitchen or the medical area immediately jump out at me. Of course, that’s not the only scenario in which you could meet but it definitely comes through the strongest. For some of you, this is someone you know and have been trying to outrun for a lack of a better word. You may think you’re polar opposites but I don’t think you are. Taurus energy comes through strong, so they may have strong Taurus placements. You and your person may be similar. But there’s definitely that vibe of ‘oh great, you again.’ kind of enemies to lovers.

Brief story time to help you paint the picture. The 'polar opposites but not really' remind me of my sisters. Both of them are a Taurus. They always clashed when they were younger. Sister A would complain about Sister B as if she didn’t do the same exact thing Sister A was pissing her off with. It was equal parts annoying and amusing. However, now that they’ve kind of ‘separated’ and both reshaped themselves in new environments, they’re closer than ever… but they’ll never admit it willingly. If you’re still with me, hopefully, this will help make the rest of the reading make more sense.

So I had to redo your reading because I couldn’t interpret the cards clearly the first time around. However, I was definitely picking up on the whole enemies or at the very least ‘mutual nuisances’ to lovers first time around. I had also picked up that this could be an LGBTQ+ relationship for a few of you.

You most likely have a prior impression of this person or you two just don’t click upon meeting. The first scenario comes through strongest so that’s the one I’m reading, but of course, interpret as you would like. In the situation where you meet again, you may be frustrated with them initially, but you two have to come to peace, most likely for a business endeavour or something career-related it seems.

I see you keeping your eye on them though. They seem trustworthy but you know what they were like in the past. If it’s a completely new person, you can pick up that they may be a bit of an ass. You might be very in your head about them after your ceasefire and at some point have to take a step back and assess yourself. Some of you might know this person from as far back as childhood. You might notice this person has actually grown a lot and come to the realisation that you have to hold them to a new standard.

Some of you, you may be jaded towards this person because they broke your heart. You may be exes or there may have been a third-party situation where they chose something else over you. heck! there's probably so much. I have so many docs sitting around about everything I've made, some having collected more dust than others. I can give you some fun facts about various things I've made. I don't remember which ones have been mentioned or not, so I'll try to find really specific things.

ink was going to be the literal son of satan in the old version of fatal flaws exclusively for the meme

kevin the chicken appeared in the bizarre saga as a different godly talking chicken character before dreamswap

there's a lot of stuff I haven't shared about the kcu because it's unfinished and I'd like to complete it when the dangan vibe comes back, but I gave byakuya a relative named tony t. togami who works at the future foundation and he's absolutely terrible (in a good way). there is also a character named the alpha roomba, but I will not elaborate at this time

the kcu is an honorary video game, because there's a roomba racing minigame and one of the expert mode challenges is kaito, who is always slightly faster than you

with greyscale's art style, I was planning on adding more and more colors in every chapter as they befriended more people, while xaki stayed more monochrome until their heart was opened in the end. it was a cool idea on paper, but it ate through my art supplies and nowadays I would prefer the art being easy to manage over the metaphor.

A few days back I started seeing fan stuff about that "amazing digital circus" show in my periphery and I had a gut feeling that it was gonna become one of those shows that seem to attract toxic folks like moth to flame. I can't pinpoint what quality makes it so. But I had enough self-awareness to admit that that came from a very fandom jaded part of me so I didn't look further into it.

Queue today. I'm scrolling through ig and watch this reel by a 3d artist modelling a character from that show. The artist had that semi realistic stylised anime style. Cool, looks great! I bet the comments think so too!

Where do I begin.

Some where upset and said that "this isn't what the character looks like" apparently because they cannot comprehend that a 3d artist like that one would adapt the cartoonish appearance to their own style. Why would they bother recreating the exact same model anyway? Should artists recreate the art style of the og work now?

Some where asking the artist (and other commenters) to be "normal" about the character. You see the stylisation involved thicker thighs. Not too sexy in my personal opinion but some were making jokes about the "dumpy" (as is common as soon a someone's behind is remotely curvy online). Of course how dare you crack sexual jokes about the 3d clown lady. But also interesting choice of words ("""""be normal""""").

In response to the supposed sexualisation and "the character is short and thus childlike" (nevermind that the og art style is, again, cartoon, where even adults have big heads and tiny bodies sometimes) some where responding that the character is 25 so she wouldn't have the body of a kid. More discourse of the "what's the difference between a flat tiny woman and a preteen" sort.

There was more inscrutable complaining over the 3d model that I hope I didn't comprehend because I don't have an "everything is sus and problematic online and fan artists are all degenerates until proven otherwise" predisposition.

This type of comments do occur semi frequently in every fandom, nothing new, but this is the first time that I've seen such a quantity of them. Like it was every other comment and only a handful were appreciating the artist's work.

I feel we are going to hear more from that fandom in the future.

IDW SONIC #68 - THOUGHTS

Warning: Spoilers Ahead

This issue was really good! From what I could gather, @spiritsonic was trying some new stuff with her art here, and her hard work really shows! She's always great, but I'm real excited to see what she gives us in the future.

After all the debate, I still do consider the circumstances surrounding this update somewhat unfortunate, but whether it was brought on by (perhaps unnecessarily) harsh criticisms from the community or not, it does look really good, and Evan seems happy with it on her various social media feeds, so I'm happy, too.

Aside from the fantastic art, this issue also had a lot of stuff I've really been wanting from IDW Sonic!

The story features a single Chaos Emerald hunt instead of just nabbing a bunch of 'em at once.

I always prefer this to stuff like Starline just bringing them all to Eggman or the Roboticized Masters collecting them off-page. Placing them one by one over time really helps drive home to me how significant these gems are to this world, and makes them feel like part of the overarching narrative instead of a simple macguffin that can just appear whenever it's convenient for the plot.

I guess what I'm saying is I like the setup phase of Chekhov's Gun just as much as the payoff.

As of this issue, we now know the location of three Emeralds - Rouge grabbed the white one in the 2022 Annual, Tails ended up with the purple one in Winter Jam, and now we've got the yellow one here.

We got some nice exploration of Sonic and Tails' dynamic in this one. It's nothing new, Sonic and Tails are naturally seen together quite a lot in this comic, but they're often in communication with other characters working toward a greater goal, or trying to solve some kind of crisis. They're after the Emerald here, but there's no great catastrophe and it's just them... spending time together. They get competitive, they banter, they pick up where the other falters - it's a really great reflection of the strong relationship Sonic points out between Silver and Blaze in Issue 64.

They get lots of little moments in this story, but I especially appreciate this one:

It's a small thing, but I think this is the first time in the comic's 5+ year run that Sonic has referred to Tails as his "little brother." When you think about it, these two really have spent most of their lives together, and this is a nice reminder of that.

What I really appreciate most in this issue, though, is the

🫒Environments.🫒

I've always felt that IDW Sonic's world was a little... homogenous, without a lot of the beautiful, fantastical scenery we see in the games.

Even when we DID get cool set pieces, they were usually direct references to the games - not a lot of spectacular, new settings made to fit the games' world.

But this one had a cool ravine with weird hexagonal pillars and old bridges for Sonic and Tails to race through!

That looked like it could be a game level! Then they get into the cave and we get this cool, glowing, underground green world with a giant salamander stalking around - this is also a really neat way of hinting at how the Emeralds affect the environment around them!

I know it's gonna be a while before we return back to the main series - the Fang the Hunter mini-series does seem fun, though - but I'm really, really excited to see where it takes us next!

Something Sweet (Wrecker x GN!Reader)

Summary: While waiting for Wrecker to return from a mission, you decide to use your baking skills to make him a cake. Needless to say, he's delighted when he sees it.

A/N: Finally got it done, my first Reader fic. I don't think I included any references to anything specific about the reader's appearance so I've labelled it as gender neutral but please let me know if you spot anything. With a click of the latch, the final cluster of cupcakes finally made it into the oven, leaving clouds of flour, chocolate powder and splotches of butter in their wake. You set the timer and scoured the mess from your hands. Droplets of blue and silver seeped into the running water. By the sink, a stack of bowls and utensils teetered perilously close to toppling as they waited to be cleaned. How you managed the colossal order in such a short amount of time, you didn’t know, but the brunt of it was done. 

“What are you still doing here?” Mica chuckled as she freed her coat from the hook and draped it over her shoulder. “You should have clocked out ages ago. If you need extra hours, you can just ask.”

“Massive order came in this afternoon,” you replied. You gestured to the monitor beneath the cabinets and your boss examined the extensive list, her cheeks bloating and deflating with a lengthy exhale. 

“They want all this by tomorrow morning? Why didn’t you tell me? I’d have helped.”

“Because you have been busy with the bank,” you told her. “And it’s not like I couldn’t manage it. I’m almost done. Just need the last lot to finish and get some icing on them.” 

“I can help now,” Mica said, swapping her jacket for an apron and carefully dislodging the used bowls from the top of the unruly mountain. “You keep an eye on those cakes and I’ll sort these dishes.”

“Yes, boss.” 

For a while, the kitchen settled into a symphony of foamy splashes and metallic clangs. You removed the last batch from the oven and set them down to cool, getting started on the dozens of others that demanded their dab of icing and cheerful sprinkles. 

“So,” Mica drew out. “When are you going to see your admirer again?” 

You hesitated in your intricate work, the nozzle of the piping bag hovering centimetres above the delicate cupcake. “I have no idea what you mean. Who says I have an admirer?” 

“Stop avoiding the question. You know who I mean. The big guy who always comes in here with that love-struck grin on his face. The one who has you floundering every time you see him.”

“It’s nothing,” you insisted, sounding far more guilty than you intended. 

“Oh, okay.” Mica hummed, pausing for a fraction of a second before adding, “is that why there is a cake decorated like a missile in the pantry?” 

Closing your eyes and cursing yourself for not taking the gift home to finish, you rose from the worktop. You had planned to take it to your apartment, encase it in a pristine cardboard box with a ribbon to prepare for Wrecker’s return. But time had run away from you. Again. 

“I bought all the ingredients myself,” you assured her. “It’s just there’s more room here and the temperature in the pantry is better for this kind of thing, but I did plan on finishing it at my apartment, and-”

She cut you off with a wave of her soapy hand and removed the bright yellow gloves, tossing them onto the empty draining board. “Don’t panic yourself, I wouldn’t be mad at you even if you had used the stuff here,” she smiled. “You have more than earned it.”

As the tension drained from your shoulders, you noticed her playful glance transform into a satisfied smirk. “He’s been on mission after mission with no break and no letup,” you explained, “and I thought this would be something nice to cheer him up.” 

“I think it’s cute,” Mica said. She wiped her hands on the wet dish towel before searching the drawer for a new one. 

“If you wanted to head to the bank before it closes, I can finish the rest of this,” you offered. 

“You sure?”

“There’s not a lot to do. I’ll let those dishes dry and lock up once everything is done.” 

Mica grabbed her jacket and gave you a grateful beam before she bounded down the steps and out into the evening. Left to the tranquil hum of the ovens cooling down after a long day of work, you finished the last of the cakes and neatly stacked the full boxes by the hatch for the morning. 

You padded into the pantry once everything was cleaned and manoeuvred Wrecker’s cake from its spot at the back of the shelf, slowly walking it into the kitchen and setting it down on the decorating board. With a few more tweaks, it would be perfect. 

The icing paste squished between your fingers as you blended two blocks with the black and red food colouring, intricately moulding the shapes. After what felt like hours of meticulous work, you finally placed the little sculpted tooka doll onto the cake, rotating the board to admire your creation. Dark shades seamlessly merged into the lighter hues, giving the spongy projectile a whimsical, cartoonish appearance.

When Wrecker had first come into the bakery some months ago, he had looked at the enormous selection in wonder and guided his sister to the pastries. A few days later, he’d returned, and you’d happily shared your knowledge on the delicate art of baking until the oven timer had summoned you. Eventually, after many visits, the conversation shifted, and you both began to share small stories about your past, your interests, and hopes for the future. But you could tell there was more to him than the soldier, something sweet and abundantly kind. 

He had been off-world for the best part of three weeks on a mission for the dubious parlour owner nearby, and your thoughts of him had grown. Initially, you’d managed to push your contemplations aside and focus on your work, but as the days stretched on, you found it harder to ignore them. 

While you washed away the vivid dye from your fingertips, you picked up a distinct pitter patter tapping on the shop’s front door and peeked around the partition. Most of the lights in the display cases had been switched off, casting a murky darkness over the empty shelves. For a brief second, you froze in fear, thinking it could be one of the more dangerous residents of Ord Mantell, but you quickly realised that someone wishing you harm would be unlikely to be so polite. 

Tentatively, you tip-toed through the shop. The figure at the window shifted from foot-to-foot. As a landspeeder zoomed down the road, the headlights illuminated the man lingering outside and you flung the door wide. 

“Wrecker?” you breathed. He looked up, and you swore you could drown in the affectionate smile lighting up his features if he let you.

“I didn’t know if you were still open,” he said as you eagerly ushered him inside, flipping the sign in the window to closed. “I went to your apartment, and you weren’t there, so I figured you might be here.” 

“Guilty as charged,” you replied. “I wasn’t expecting you back so early. When we last spoke, I got the impression you’d be away for a while.”

“Thought I would be, but the job wasn’t too complicated.” 

You bit your lip and gestured for him to accompany you into the kitchen. “Since you’re here, I may as well show you your surprise.”

His eyes sparkled with anticipation as he followed you, a faint flush spreading across his cheeks when he caught sight of the cake. “Did you make this for me?” he asked in a mixture of awe and disbelief. “It’s incredible!”

“Of course I did,” you chuckled. “Unless you know any other ammunition experts with a particular love for missiles and an adorable tooka doll.” Searching through the cutlery draw, you retrieved a knife and cut him an ample portion. He took a large bite and hummed in approval. “Good?” 

“Delicious.”

“You can share it with your siblings if you wanted.”

“No way, this is all mine,” Wrecker insisted as he swallowed the final slivers. 

Your bright smile reached your cheeks, and you gently brushed away the crumbs clinging to the corner of his mouth. He held your hand in place, and you traced the bumps of his scar, your heart pounding in your chest.

“I missed coming in here,” he said, so softly it was almost a whisper, a secret only the two of you shared in the fading heat of the kitchen and the faint air smuggling in through the open window. “I missed talking to you. Seeing that smile.”

“I missed you too, Wrecker,” you admitted. 

His eyes flicked to your mouth, and you answered his unspoken question with a barely perceptible nod. He cupped your face, sweeping his thumbs over the warmth and leaning down to press his lips to yours. Brief yet intoxicating, he drew back. “You’re going to have to teach me how to bake cakes,” he said, nuzzling his nose to yours and revelling in the sweet grin you gave him in return. 

“There’s no time like the present,” you sighed, melting into his arms. “But first I want to kiss you again.”

Finished JJK S1.

Woooo this fight scene with the song and editing fucked so hard. Had to be my favorite fight of the series so far. Nobara and Yuji worked great as a team, which I suppose makes sense because they kinda seem to run on the same wavelength. Like they'll always be screaming and yelling about the same things while Megumi is either indifferent or embarrassed about it lmao.

When Yuji asked Nobara if she felt bad about killing Eso and Kechizu, and she said no, but Yuji pointed out that Eso cried for Kechizu... I resonated with that sense of compassion Yuji has.

I'm glad Megumi actually won a damn fight at the end of the series. He's a cool dude. but his skills weren't quite up to snuff just yet, so I'm glad that Yuji's progress inspired him to be better. Or, really, he just kinda let himself go off the rails fully.

It's really interesting to me how a lot of the characters in this series are motivated by a particular person(s). Like Yuji and his grandfather, Nobara and that lady that her village chased away, Megumi and his sister, Kasumi and her little brothers, and Noritoshi and his mother.

Mahito just pisses me the fuck off. He was fine at first, but then when he wouldn't just die, I grew tired of him and his deranged giggles. And his whole talk of the soul and stuff. Like yeah yeah shut up.

I actually grew to really like Todo. I thought he was just some annoying brute at first, but when he fought Yuji and formed a sense of friendship/brotherhood with him, that's when I found him really fun. His clapping while fighting Hanami was sooo lmao. And his love for that celebrity girl is alskdja.

Nanami ofc is one of my favs so far. I already ranted about him earlier, but I like that he feels reliable and protective. He's just cool.

Wasn't sure how I felt about Toge until I got to see him in action. He's cool as well, and I want to see more of him in the future.

I want more Sukuna bro. Wish he talked more. Though I suppose maybe less is more in his case. It makes it more impactful when he does appear briefly. But I also won't be mad if he does come forth more frequently in the future. And I will also be thrilled if he's the one to end Mahito. I'll pay him to wipe that smile off Mahito's face.

Gojo is just a fun character. A badass who also acts as comic relief. I kinda like him better with his mask on though lmao his blue eyes are kinda intense.

Oh oh oh, I loved that moment when Nobara was fighting Momo and told her she could dress pretty if she wanted and be powerful. Like yeees! Duality~

All the techniques are pretty interesting. Megumi's lightning bird thingy is probably one of my favorites. Toge's ability is awesome in action. And I wasn't really sure about Nobara's hammer and nails, but her use of them, especially in the last episode, became more interesting.

...While looking up a character's name just now, I just stumbled across a spoiler... haha fuck you Mahito.

No but the Junpei situation was sad, and it was set up well enough that I felt okay about his death because I felt like it served it's purpose in motivating Yuji more. Like obviously it would've been nice if Junpei survived, but the tragedy of his life truly did serve as just, well, a tragedy. (That being said, fuck Mahito, all my homies hate Mahito.)

I don't understand why I'll be like 9 minutes into an episode and then all of a sudden the opening credits will randomly start playing. Like bro?? Why not just play that at the beginning?? I know I've been out of the anime game for a long time but surely that's not a typical thing in modern animes, is it?? Or was it always that way and I forgot??

Overall, I'm enjoying the characters and plot. It does drag a bit when the characters constantly have to explain their abilities or certain things about curses and such, but I suppose it's the same as sport animes when they constantly talk about new techniques.

Deke Shaw x Fem!Reader

Summary: Reader is stressed out with shield agent life, and Deke encourages her to take a day off and discover earth with him.

A/N: Hey guys!! This took much longer to write than anticipated, my apologies I've been insanely busy recently. I've really been wanting to write for Deke though because there is a LACK of fics for him on this app. Anyways, I really hope y'all enjoy, love you guys! ₊˚⊹♡

You and your Shield team had finally arrived back from the future, and you were relieved to say the least.

Being trapped in an unfamiliar place was horrifying, not that you and your team hadn't been through worse.

Just because you were back didn't mean you were in the clear, and discovering Daisy was the one who was going to cause the destruction of planet earth only made things more distressing.

Even though Daisy didn't currently have her powers you could see the fear in her eyes. You were worried for her, and so was the rest of your team. You had all been working tirelessly to stop the end of the world, and as important as it was the exhaustion was beginning to catch up to you.

Right now you were heading down the hall to meet with your team about the ever concerning anomalies that had been appearing in the lighthouse.

As you rounded the corner you felt yourself slam into something...or rather someone.

"You okay darling?" The all too familiar voice mused from above you.

Deke, the boy from the future. With his gray eyes and rugged features, who you had somehow managed to fall for. You knew he felt the same, but between the plethora of near death experiences the two of you hadn't had time to address your feelings.

"Shit! Deke, I'm sorry." You jumped back, examining where you had slammed into him.

Thankfully there was no noticeable damage.

You ran your hands through your hair, letting out a frustrated sigh.

"Hey, it's okay! It barely hurt!" Deke spun around quickly, and did a silly little dance.

"See, I'm in tip top shape." He put on a goofy smile, causing you to give him one in return.

"Where are you off to?" Deke asked, you forgot that the team didn't always include him in their meetings.

"Oh, just, uh, meeting Daisy and everyone,"

"But I honestly just need a break, I'm so tired of running around all the time."

You leaned against the wall, the stress you were under feeling heavier than the weight of the world.

Deke gave you a sympathetic smile and lightly squeezed your hand.

You began to lean into him, and you began to feel as if you were handing him some of the stress you were carrying.

"Hey I have an idea." Deke exclaimed, taking your hands and turning you to face him.

"You should spend the day with me!" He suggested, his face just beaming with excitement.

"Deke...I don't know, they're expecting me-"

"Please! If they ask, just tell them you got sick or something." Deke pleaded, giving you the saddest puppy dog eyes you had ever seen.

You thought for a moment, weighing the pros and cons of your decision. Yes, you would waste the day having fun when you could be helping your teammates. Although, you would be getting a much needed recharge, and with your favorite person at that. And by the way, how could you say no to that face?

"Okay fineee." You gave in.

Deke pumped his fist in the air with excitement, earning a laugh from you.

"Oh my god, you can show me all of the cool earth things I've been wanting to try! Like every flavor of ice cream, and football! You know, since I only got here like a week ago.."

You truly didn't understand why he got on everyone's nerves so much. He was just excited to have a chance at living the life he always dreamed of in the future, and there was honestly something so refreshing about that. Deke didn't take advantage of anything, because he knew what it was like to have nothing.

"Of course, let me get dressed and then we can go. We've gotta be sneaky about it though."

"You've got it babe." Deke replied, shooting your finger guns and a wink. You rolled your eyes and walked off.

Once you got changed out of your casual clothes, and packed a small bag you hurried to meet Deke outside. You were sure to dodge any Shield Agents that were coming your way.

When you arrived at the exit, Deke was already waiting. When He saw you he excitedly pulled out a notebook and flipped to a specific page.

"I made a list of everything I want to do today! I know we might not be able to do it all but i put little stars next to my favorites." Deke pointed to the tiny stars he had drawn next to several items on his, not so short to do list.

"You make me laugh you know that?" You said, snatching the notebook from his hands to look over it.

"Is it too much?"

"No, It's perfect." you looked up to him and gave him a quick peck on the cheek, causing his cheeks to turn a bright pink shade.

"Okay lets go!" You pulled him behind you as you headed toward your car that was parked in the nearby parking garage.

"I think this is my first time in one of these." Deke exclaimed as you drove towards your first destination.

"Well, is it everything you dreamed it would be?"

"Honestly, it's kinda underwhelming."

You let out a laugh, quickly turning to the side to make eye contact with Deke who was also laughing.

"I totally agree."

When you arrived at your first stop, Deke was practically jumping up and down with excitement.

"You brought me to the beach?"

"I noticed that one had two stars next to it." you replied, pointing to the notebook laying on your console.

"I know it's not warm enough to get into the water, but we can at least walk on the sand and put our feet in."

"Are you kidding? This is amazing." Deke reached over into the driver's seat and hugged you tightly.

He quickly jumped out of the car and started racing towards the shore.

"Be careful! It's easy to fall on sand." You called, remembering how you had to get used to the way your feet sunk into the sand when you were a child.

Just as the words escaped your lips Deke fell face first into the sand.

Your heart raced worriedly as you rushed over to see if he was okay.

"Oh my god! I told you to be careful!" You snapped, leaning down to examine Deke who was still laying flat in the sand.

"I'm fine, I'm fine." Deke rolled over, spitting sand out of his mouth.

You reached out your hand and helped him up, rolling your eyes as you did.

"Please watch yourself from now on." You said, refusing to loosen your grip on his hand.

After that care, not that the two of you hadn't gone through worse, you kept Deke close.

Were you really concerned, or were you using it as an excuse? That wasn't a question that needed to be answered.

As the two of you strolled towards the sore, hand in hand, you couldn't help but let your mind wander. Wander back to the unspoken feelings between the two of you. It's not as if nothing physical had ever happened between the two of you, holding hands and cuddling wasn't uncommon and you had even shared a kiss a few times, but nothing was ever really discussed.

Now was your long awaited chance, just the two of you, without impending doom hanging over your heads.

Well for the moment at least.

"Hey Deke..."

"mhm?" Deke stopped and looked up at you, tracing his thumb over your palm as he did.

"You know how I feel about you right?"

"What?"

"Everything that's happened, it's not just nothing. I really like you, just between the end of the world and time traveling I don't think I've remembered to tell you." You said all this without taking your eyes off Deke's.

You loved the way he looked at you, with such adoration.

For once, Deke didn't respond with his words but rather his actions. Without hesitation, he cupped your face and pressed many kisses to your lips, cheeks, and forehead.

He stopped to look at you, a giddy look on his face.

"Wait? So are we like, boyfriend and girlfriend now?" Deke said half jokingly.

"Only if you want to be." You got your answer when Deke kissed you again, this time with much more force. It was unlike any of the other kisses you two had shared, there was a sense of raw emotion behind it that hadn't been there before.

On your walk back to the car you leaned comfortably into Deke, no longer needing to worry about if it was 'too much'.

You began driving to your next activity, something that was a favorite of yours that you hoped he would really enjoy.

You pulled into the parking lot of your favorite dockside diner, and you could already smell the greasy french fries, and sizzling burgers. You watched as couples and groups of teens strolled down the dock, holding ice cream cones from the shop nearby.

Once you and Deke walked inside you found a waiter to get you a seat. You were seated quickly, and ordered drinks.

"So, is this somewhere you come a lot?"

"Yes, this is my favorite restaurant, and you haven't lived if you haven't had greasy American diner food."

Deke looked around at the place, excitedly examining everything. Once it came time to order, Deke couldn't decide between a bacon cheeseburger or chicken and waffles, so you agreed to get both and have half each.

Once your food arrived, you both ate quickly. Deke continuously snatched fries from your plate, stating each time that it was his last one. You ended up having to swat his hand away, claiming the rest of the fries.

Once you were finished you paid the bill and led Deke out to the dock.

You noticed him eyeing the ice cream parlor, so you asked him if he was up for dessert.

He happily agreed and ordered as many flavors of ice cream as they could fit on the cone. You doubted all those flavors would even taste good mixed together but as long as it made Deke happy.

You walked slowly down the dock, ice cream in one hand, and Deke's hand in the other.

At this point in the day the sun was beginning to sink below the clouds, and the temperature had dipped even lower. You realized you had forgotten to bring a jacket, as you had not planned to be out this late.

You began to shiver, and Deke took notice quickly. He pulled off his jacket, the one he wore nearly every day and offered it to you.

"Well won't you be cold?" you protested.

"Nah, temperatures were crazy in space, a little wind doesn't bother me."

You gave him a sympathetic smile and allowed him to wrap the jacket around your shoulders.

You decided to end your day sitting at the end of the dock and watching the sun sink between the clouds. Deke slipped his hand around your waist as the stars began to fade into view.

"It's so beautiful here, there weren't many beautiful things to look at where I used to live."

This filled you with sadness, and reminded you of the suffering Deke experienced his whole life.

"Deke, I'm sorry. You didn't deserve to live a life like that." You whispered softly, nuzzling your nose into his neck.

"Well it may have sucked, but you know what? It led me to you."

You looked up to make eye contact with your boyfriend. He tucked a few loose pieces of hair behind your ears, and kissed you on the forehead.

"And you are more beautiful than all the stars in the sky combined."

Devlog 7 MASSIVE UPDATE!

ALRIGHT, IT'S BEEN A WHILE SINCE I UPDATED, HUH? My apologies! As I said in my earlier update post, my family has been crazy busy. I'll be a lot busier in the future, too, since I'm gonna start my job in a few weeks.

But to make up for all that time I spent silent/time I may spend silent in the future, here's everything I've worked on thus far! This is going to be a VERY long post, so I'll put most of it under a read more!

I do mean everything. Or at least most of it lol. This here is the title screen! If you have trouble reading the text, the title says Star Flesh, and the choice box says "ATTUNE, RESUME, and END". Since I'm showing the stuff I've done so far, I'll make a new game using the "ATTUNE" option.

Here's the main inside area! It's kind of empty for now, and I still have placeholder sprites and tiles everywhere. As for the doors behind Pawn, one is supposed to lead down to the basement, and the other is supposed to lead up. Not suuuper clear, but it's fine for now.

Thank you for saying that it really means a lot, I actually used to write fan-fiction a couple years back and I’ve recently tried to start again but I’m very critical of what I write and how I write it so I’m incapable of producing a single chapter.

Now that you mention it, yes I completely understand what you mean about R not being able to be extremely cold to Tara. R seems like the type of person who’d be hurt and disappointed, someone who wouldn’t necessarily be cold to Tara but would definitely hide from her. For R I’d imagine it’d be an internal battle of what she wants versus what she deserves, we already get a feel for that in the first chapter but it was easier for her to choose what she wants- which is to provide whatever comfort and happiness Tara wants because she loves her so much over what she deserves- someone who cares about her in a consistent manner and not only when it’s convenient (boo Tara😡). After Tara’s outburst I think R would have to force herself in every way possible to really process that she can’t put Tara’s needs above her own anymore, as much as she loves Tara doing that would reinforce the notion that everything Tara said is true. We know she always runs back but now that’s she’s been ridiculed for it she can’t.

The way she’s always there for Tara makes me wonder about her background. Maybe this is TMI, but I personally have experienced many relationships like this in the past. My father abandoned my sister and I at a very young age, so part of the reason I would always be there for them and never left first even when I should’ve but wouldn’t- was because I never wanted them to feel as unloved and unworthy as I did when my father left me. By the time I was a teenager I’d already forgiven him for all the abuse my family endured because of him, in my heart nobody could ever hurt me the way he hurt me- so I’d forgive them even though the people around me would expressively tell me not to, you know? But im older now and I stand my ground, i can leave when if its what’s best for me and not get too caught up in what’s best for them.

My parents were born in Mexico but they moved to USA in the late 1980’s, I wanna move to Mexico and live there for a couple years because my mother loves and talks about her hometown so much, the idea of seeing where she grew up in person and picturing her as a little girl warms my heart.

Predictions for Nintendo Switch Online

I think it goes without saying that the Nintendo Switch Online (or NSO) service has been controversial to say the least. The fact that we now have to pay for what used to be free online and the lack of benefits you get to subscribing has led to this service being received very poorly at least at launch. It's been about 5 years since NSO launched and a lot of that controversy has seemingly dried up either by new additions to the game library or simply the fact that we're just used to it at this point.

Now don't get me wrong there are still detractors to NSO, but it seems as if this service has been accepted for what it is despite its flaws, although I do have to agree with some of the things said by folks regarding how the service launched and how it currently is.

Now that we've gotten that out of the way, I want to lay down some predictions regarding the future of this service as I've seen some wild things being proposed by fans that sound completely unrealistic and nothing Nintendo would ever regularly do. Starting with the obvious, what future platforms will Nintendo add to the game library?

First things first, GameCube is not going to happen at least for a long time. I suspect Nintendo may add it once the Switch's successor is out but at this very moment it is laughable to consider GameCube right now. The biggest main issue is the fact that Nintendo themselves has been rereleasing GameCube games as full price Switch games. Metroid Prime Remastered and Paper Mario: The Thousand Year Door come to mind. I know for the most part the whole "things releasing outside of NSO means it will never come to NSO" myth has more or less died at this point but GameCube tends to be a special case here since these games still feel modern enough to resell as new games.

Another thing is to completely throw out any consideration of any mainline Pokémon games appearing on the Game Boy apps. The spinoffs sure, but actual mainline games is a bit silly. If they were somehow to be added they would need to do a lot of backend stuff to get these games properly working and so players don't cheat with the regular tools NSO offers such as rewind and restore points. It's not impossible but I see this as too much work to be worth it if simply putting these out as digital eShop releases sounds much easier. Besides if every version was put out on NSO then you'd lose the magic of Pokémon just like that, and that wouldn't be fun would it?

Okay so what do I actually think NSO is gonna add to its game library? Well unless Nintendo puts out a Virtual Boy or a Game & Watch app then I suspect we will probably see more third party apps. One consideration I don't see a ton of people talking about is the PC-Engine and TurboGrafx-16.

Games from these consoles have appeared on Virtual Console in the past on Wii and Wii U and a very limited number of PC-Engine games did release on 3DS only in Japan. I wouldn't doubt that Nintendo would add this as apart of their Expansion Pack, heck maybe even regular NSO if we're lucky. I would just love to see more NEC love (or well Konami love now).

But why stop there when the Mark III and Master System could be added too? Sega is already on board with NSO with their Mega Drive and Genesis apps so this would be a great addition especially since these games have not been given enough love even by Sega. SG-1000 would also be cool but that might be a bit too niche for a service like NSO but who knows.

As for games, while there is quite a bit already on the service there are certainly omissions that are quite baffling so let's get some of the more obvious ones out of the way and in no particular order.

Gomoku Narabe Renju, Mahjong, Golf, Urban Champion, SimCity, Mario Paint, Super Smash Bros., Ridge Racer 64, Banjo-Tooie, Super Mario Land, Qix, X, Balloon Kid, Mole Mania, Super Mario Bros. Deluxe, Pokémon Pinball, Densetsu no Stafy 1-3, Mother 3, and Rhythm Tengoku just to name a few.

So lets start with one that might not be interesting at a glance but would be a great addition to the service.

Tetris for the NES (no, not the Tengen version) is one of the more iconic versions of this beloved puzzle game, but why go back to this version specifically? I mean we already have Tetris on the Game Boy app and plenty of other Tetris games on Switch so what's the deal here?

Well for one, this version has never seen any kind of rerelease... kind of. This version in terms of how it played was ported over to Tetris Effect: Connected as a side mode but unless you knew about it I'd imagine not a whole lot of folks have dabbled with it and it's still technically not the original game.

But secondly, the main reason why this mode even exists and also why I personally would like to see it on NSO is purely to make the game accessible to a wider audience considering the competitive scene of this specific classic version of Tetris.

Being able to play this on NSO would mean a ton more people get to experience how this version plays and more importantly gives players another option of playing this without resorting to unofficial PC emulation. Obviously pro players are going to stick to original hardware but if you just wanted to practice or wanted a taste of this version then it's no wonder that having it on Switch would be a dream. Hopefully with the Game Boy version already being on the service this will increase the chances of this one happening.

So this next one is already planned to release for NSO in Japan but there's no word on it releasing internationally but regardless...

...Kaeru no tame ni Kane wa Naru or as its unofficially known as The Frog For Whom the Bell Tolls. It's an action RPG that's often compared to Link's Awakening to the point where in said Zelda game there's a cameo appearance featuring Prince Richard from Bell Tolls. This is one of the more well known Nintendo developed games that never left Japan and as of writing has never seen an official English localization of any kind and unfortunately there seems to be a trend with international NSO releases having Japanese games that have not been translated. So the likelihood of this not only releasing outside of Japan but getting a new localization for NSO is very unlikely but it's more than possible given Nintendo puts in the work to translating this in English. I'd imagine a remake of this game being far more likely to getting an international release if that were to happen and hey if it's in the style of the Link's Awakening remake that would be pretty cool.

So let's move away to one that might actually happen.

This one's pretty straight forward and don't be scared by this being Japan exclusive as outside of some story cutscenes this one's perfectly playable as its mainly a puzzle game. It has seen rereleases in the past on Virtual Console and if it were to release on NSO it's very likely that it would release internationally since the benefit of Nintendo not putting in effort to localize these games means they can just drop this on the SNES app no problem. Also good time to mention that this also includes the original Wrecking Crew so it would be funny to see Wrecking Crew on the service twice.

So let's end this game prediction saga with one that probably will never happen but if it were to happen I'd be curious how it would be implemented.

So let's get this out of the way, this is an M rated game. For a while it was believed that Nintendo would shy away from more mature games from appearing on the service but GoldenEye 007 on N64 at least in Japan indicates that Nintendo's solution is purely to bump up the rating of the overall app. So I'd imagine if this were to drop on NSO we'd not only see a rating bump for the N64 app but hopefully some kind of parental control option to stop players under 17 from playing this one. While it would be cool to see this on NSO in terms of being able to play it on a Nintendo platform again, I purely would like to see this get added just to see what they'd do to the app in response to this M rated addition to the service.

And there are my NSO predictions as of November 2023. I do wonder when the next Nintendo platform releases if we'll see an uptick in support for the service but its likely that this slow trickle of games will continue as usual. I'd normally would wish for more platforms to be represented on NSO but the problem is that some of the ones already on the service are very lacking especially Game Boy and Game Boy Advance. Hopefully those libraries get beefed up soon.

For the most part, i think legacy is Okay. It's not the Best, but its nice to see so many people come together to finish off the show. I can respect all the work these guys did, especially tomska.

My only real problems lie with only 2-3 episodes, and it drives me Crazy because they're By Far the most popular, so they've caused the most problems. This one question ended up becoming a giantic essay SORRY im just passionate about ebbworld

I'm keeping this section on Fun Dead short, mostly because it's not really the worst offender

The "Obliviously stupid to progress the plot" trope is so bad here. They've seen zombies before how do they not recognize them now. I get them being oblivious to super obvious things is the joke ,but its just not funny

For a Zombie centric episode, there's barely any Fighting. I feel like big fight scenes are what people like most with these. But no we get a 30 second montage, one that's not even animated

The End. Don't even get me started on The End. Legitimately i have never seen such a botched finale in my life. Fair warning this is about to get long and angry im sorry

Let me ask one question: how come in the Finale To Eddsworld Legacy, the season Dedicated to Edd Gould and his work, Edd Himself does not play a prominent role? I'm not even kidding, you could write Edd out completely and Nothing would change. Ive heard people say this was Tomska going out with a bang before leaving the show, but from what i know he also wanted eddsworld to be completely over at The End. If that's true he could have atleast let Edd shoot the harpoon or some shit, come on

This is such a disappointing finale overall. They don't do anything exciting. We just get to watch a little "do you remember this episode?" Montage, all the sudden everything gets crazy then oh! Episodes over goodbye forever.

An end fight might have been more exciting had it been set up properly. They gave us the bare minimum, which was having tords stupid little gang tag appear a few times then having two of his coworkers/soldiers appear a few times. That doesn't hint at a Tord being an evil meglomaniac who's got a giant fucking robot hidden under the house

FUTURE EDD CAME OUT OF NOWHERE AS WELL, AND HE WORKS GREAT BECAUSE HE SETS UP THE LORE IMMEDIATELY. Tords return gave us Nothing beyond "he is manipulating them!!" Instead we get the book dropped on us halfway through the LAST EPISODE OF THE SEASON without ever being given any sort of explanation. That's just it.

ALSO FUCK BRINGING TORD BACK AT ALL. the dude asked to be removed from the show and what did they do? Hinted at his return like 15 times then had him come back as this manipulative mastermind, whos got a bunch of science stuff and a russian accent. At the bare minimum you could have writtten him to atleast resemble something close to Tord. There's literally more evidence that points to him being a clone than there is him being the real Tord, and it WASN'T EVEN INTENTIONAL.

Took a character who had left with all his loose ends tied up, brought him back with completely new unexplained info, then ended the show with both the original and the new loose ends untied. I've read this was Tomska trying to write Tord out of the show for good, but he somehow managed to do the complete opposite by leaving him at a LITERAL cliffhanger. Now all the 12 year olds are @ ing eddsworld begging he comes back for a redemption episode.

I could scream forever about the end but ive already said too much SORRY. This is why im just rewritting it myself to make it good

One last thing: its somewhat heartbreaking to me how Legacy has totally overgrown the classic episodes. Of the top Ten most popular videos on the channel, Seven of them are legacy episodes, with Edds three episodes being at the very bottom of the list

I just don't like it. I dont like how legacy has become like the Face of what eddsworld is. Maybe it's just because Edds work has been one of the biggest inspirations in my life (if that wasn't obvious already) IDK it seems unfair

Tldr: i dont like what legacy has done to the series and the fandom, but it's okay for the most part. Fuck The End though
