I think this is the first time a book to screen adaptation of anything has managed to make make so many changes while still being completely faithful to the source material
Huge respect to the only one of my friends to give in to my incessant yapping and decide to watch Oxventurer now, of all times. Bro has has T-72 hours to get up to speed. I wouldn’t fault him for waiting until he had watched all of it to actually start of the final season but no, he’s gonna be going into this weeks episode with the knowledge of maybe 4 episodes worth of lore (plus whatever he’s picked up from my ramblings). Pray for him and the rest of my Saturday dnd group when I inevitably start foaming at the mouth trying to recap an episode with (what I’m assuming will be) genuine, knowing Liliana-Dob interaction.
1. dick finds out batman replaced him as robin (without asking him) from the NEWSPAPER and simultaneously finds out bruce adopted a new kid without telling him (to make things worse: bruce didn’t even adopt dick)
2. dick finds out jason died from the newspaper (AGAIN? REALLY BRUCE?) and bruce had the fucking funeral WITHOUT HIM while he was still in space
been going down a rabbit hole of golden age fics and this is my take on the nightlight design tee hee (I love him with all my heart and soul)
also it’s my personal head canon that nightlight was a past life of Jack’s and can access his star boy powers in life/death situations?? Idk but wouldn’t that make a cool future scene where jack can access past PAST lives’ memories and just see his cool space protector self like
Correct me if I’m wrong but through the entire hunger games trilogy, the only person to literally say the words “I love you” is Gale.
Katniss and Peeta don’t ever say these words to each other or to anyone else (like Prim, Mrs Everdeen, Haymitch etc.). I think Katniss at one point in book 1 says she’s sure that Prim is possibly the only person she loves. Peeta says he knew when he was a goner for her in the first book and because they’re “playing” at love, Katniss from then on talks about how Peeta loves her. There’s a bit towards the end of the first book, right as Katniss is thinking of the poison berries, where she talks about Peeta talking about how much he loves her but we don’t actually hear him say it, she just recounts it in her sort of daze. But neither of them say the words “I love you” to each other (or others).
But yet, we know at every turn that Peeta and Katniss love each other and care so deeply about each other. They don’t need to say the words because it’s understood, often through actions and also Katniss’s internal thoughts. We also can tell that they love the people around them, their families, Haymitch, Gale, Finnick etc. We don’t need to hear them say they words “I love you” to know that they love these people and each other.
And at the end of Mockingjay, the “You love me. Real or not real?” moment let’s us know that Peeta is not asking her to say those words to him. He’s asking her to confirm something he already knows to be true.
can I be a hater for a second whenever I see the fic trope of “Talia purposely told Jason about Tim to get Jason to attack him” I’m like guys I’m gonna be real with you I don’t think Talia would care about that little boy at all
Whipped up a quick slutty birthday post for the whore himself
So I realized last year while I was in Florence that Ezio’s birthday coincides with the St. John the Baptist Festival there!! One of the big attractions for the day is the calcio storico fiorentino, which is like soccer on steroids feat. punching and mud. It started around the 15th century when Ezio would’ve been kicking around, so I decided to draw him semi-historically accurate playing in the game.
i can’t stop thinking about how well bolas rojas has adapted to the conditions of purgatory. they embrace whatever suffering and lack of materials they have, they cheer for certain disasters (mainly the fog), they further embrace their insanity, laugh at their lack of mental wellbeing, they physically fight each other and die for fun. they invite the poor conditions like they weren’t missing luxuries like op backpacks and castles a few days ago. they truly embody the hellscape they’re trapped in because they were so utterly stomped to the ground from the start that they have embraced the mud as their new home.
so actually to correct my first point of this post, they haven’t adapted to the conditions of purgatory, they were reborn, created and molded from the flames of it.
i feel like part of this is another lesson in parasocial relationships. we in fact do not know the people we watch sometimes multiple times a week on our little screens or even the people we pay to see at live shows
