Because I don’t know any better, here’s some Creed songs I associate with Andy Robinson characters & with an aspect of Andy himself (based off me reading his book)

I’ll probably add more later!

Characters

Elim Garak - “Torn”, “Wrong Way” (Wrong Way reminds me of the DS9 episodes “Improbable Cause” & “The Die is Cast”)

Harman Sullivan - “What If” (this one is more of the movie as a whole buuuut Scott Stapp’s outfit/look in the music video reminds me of Harman’s except his is red and Harman’s is blue lol)

Steve McCoy - “Beautiful” (maaaan the lyrics are like if Steve is singing it himself about Karen, especially the first verse holy moly “She wears a coat of color / loved by some / feared by others / she’s immortalized in young man’s eyes”

Childhood - “My Own Prison” & “Wash Away Those Years” (MOST of My Own Prison fits, especially the first verse & these lyrics in the second “I hear a thunder in the distance / see a vision of a cross / I feel the pain that was given on a sad day of loss” because he describes a time when he was sent to a camp during the summer and he was acting out a lot, getting in trouble. A counselor tied him to a tree throughout the night and Andy describes he saw a vision of Jesus. Seeing a vision of a cross isn’t the same as seeing the face of Jesus, but what does the cross represent? Yeah exactly. And the first verse is using court/judgement in relation to his actions “Court is in session/ a verdict is in / no appeal on the docket today / just my own sin” Andy literally used to go to juvenile court because of how much he acted out and that led to him being sent to a school throughout his teens)

not sure there has ever been a worse time to be a woman or girl in the uk. random stabbing attacks, crimes on trains increased by 50% in the last few years, 50 women murdered by men since the start of the year ... and absolutely no urgency whatsoever. it's terrifying.

now, character designers, i need you to listen to me. sometimes, when you go to design a male character, you make a very simple mistake, which is that you go "i should make them look Cool."

this is understandable, but still wrong. you are missing a key component of making a good male character. you have to make them kind of faintly pathetic. they need to suck, just a little bit. this is so, so necessary for a healthy ecosystem and you are depriving your story if you don't do this.

wait I missed something, you said Tanguish has a voice claim? who??

You didn't miss anything, I've never talked about it lol. I don't normally share my personal voice claims for characters because I don't like restricting people. It's for the same reason whenever someone says "Hey what's your design for X?" I always end the art/description with "You don't have to do that though!"

Anyway, to me Tanguish's voice is in the same higher register as Tango's voice, leaning on the higher end, but a lot smoother, without Tango's rasp. Examples would be:

LeGrand, the first singer in Give A Little

Bo Burnham, especially the silly noises he can make, and the way his tone flattens out on sustained notes like "Well Well" in this song.

The cadence and expressivity in You're Not Welcome by Naethan Apollo.

Ruse and the Caper by Coyote Theory is one of the few songs I can see Tanguish singing. Like, a near perfect match for his voice.

Yeah [jazz hands] there you go. My little scattershot voice claim range. Though as before so again, don't let me dictate how the little guy sounds in your head lol.

BLOG INTRODUCTION

Hello tumblr! You may call me Roger. I’m English/Scottish and a slight autist. Also, I am queer, because apparently tumblr people like to know that. I have been into pirate history for many years. I would like to start this off by saying I am NOT A QUALIFIED HISTORIAN OR EXPERT. This blog will be well researched and I will do my best to use reliable sources (and list them), but do not use this blog itself as a source. My posts exist to encourage you to read further into sources.

Now, as the blog description states, I am going to be posting pirate facts and discussing pirate myths. I will also occasionally post about and discuss fictional pirate media. Some topics I plan to discuss when this blog is started include:
