ah yes, my favorite media. a grand story about the horror and tragedy of war set featuring a massive space war that was a rebellion against an oppressive colonial empire hellbent on conquest (which also experiments on its subjects), a main cast of mostly female characters, a key romance between two women, and a clone army of female super soldiers.

my favorite character in this story is a woman named rose. though not physically present in the text, her absence echoes throughout the narrative in a way that makes those closest to her do great and terrible things. she comprises one half of the key romance (of which the other half is deeply devoted to her even after she is gone). she has done some deeply awful things in her past, but that doesn't stop me excusing her shitty actions <3

Atomic-scale analysis of local environments for the hydroxyl species is essential for revealing the intrinsic catalytic activity of zeolites and guiding the design of high-performance catalysts. However, many unfavorable factors prohibit the elucidation of their fine structures such as low quantity, meta-stable property, structural similarity, hydrogen-bonding environment, and long-range disordered nature. Recently, a research team led by Prof. Hou Guangjin and Prof. Chen Kuizhi from the Dalian Institute of Chemical Physics (DICP) of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS) unraveled the precise structure of complex hydroxyl groups in zeolites with a comprehensive set of self-developed coupling-edited 1H-17O solid-state nuclear magnetic resonance (NMR) methods. BACK IN TIME - Summer 2014 Anime Season

  Welp, we’re here at the Summer 2014 Anime Season. Looking back at this one…. wow, there was shows that I either dropped at 1 episode and forgotten, sequel seasons of shows that I watched and then forgotten, some good shows, some meh shows, and those that just left a bad taste in my mouth. And this is the season that had some particular shows that did that. But first off…. You know, I forgot…

By the way, I am still thinking about the Greater Boston Season 4 finale, and I am obsessed with the idea that when you have days where you wake feeling strange and unsettled without any identifiable cause, it might be because someone who you never met but who would have narrated you kindly has passed on out of the world.

How old would be like, an actual adult for a manakete? Nowi's "1,000 something" and she seems. Like a child. Tiki's what, like 3,000? She seems like an adult... is it like humans x 100? How does the dragonstone thing work? Are they born with them now or does each generation have to seal their power in stones? Do taguel actually need stones or is that a gameplay mechanic?

At least for me, I tend to interpret dragon ages along the lines of human age x 100 based on what we've seen in most of the Fire Emblem games. Tiki when she meets Marth is somewhere in the neighborhood of 1,100, but she looks like a kid -- at best a very young teenager, more likely a preteen, so 10-11 range by my read. Nowi, similarly, says she's over 1,000 and both looks and acts like a kid, so I struggle to see her as older than a teenager (and a particularly childish one at that). By the time of Awakening, though, Tiki's around 3,000 years old, and is clearly an adult at that point, so that really does seem to line up with the dragon age being two orders of magnitude removed from the human equivalent.

As for the dragonstone thing...that's open to interpretation, I think. I know some people interpret them as something dragons create themselves (@anankos has a fun bit in one of their old Fates fics that goes into it), but in Awakening it's frustrating because dragonstones are sold and they come in multiple flavors. Awakening why do you do this to me.

So I've tentatively adopted a concept where dragons (and taguel) use a specific type of stone as a form of energy storage: specific stones have a crystal matrix able to receive magical energy, and by taking advantage of this specific resonance, dragons can siphon their power into the stone in their possession and adopt a human guise; if they need to transform, they pull the energy back out to resume their original form.

Of course, I'm damned either way because Awakening's mechanics make no sense and a dragon/taguel can't transform without a stone, leaving them trapped in a human guise -- which frankly makes no sense: if the stone breaks, the power can't go anywhere but back where it came from, so logically they should be stuck in beast form rather than the other way around. So I picked my battles and decided that when I work with dragons and taguel, if they don't have a stone, they don't look human. (On a related note note, if a dragon or taguel loses their stone but it doesn't break, they'll be stuck in human form for a while but eventually revert back to dragon form if they don't find it because eventually their energy levels are going to replenish naturally and they'll transform back whether they like it or not. Nowi has this problem...a lot.)

mfw i change a part of my character yet again

putting the ramble under here but i’ve decided that from the moment nils loses her left eye, to some point centuries in the future, her vision is entirely monocular. her having a working prosthetic eye is something that i feel *is* plausible, with living in the clockwork city and having THE sotha sil for a dad, but i’ve not been able to work out the details and it’s always bothered me anyway, it hasn’t felt right. the prosthetic was not perfect but yeag. so she has a mechanical eye now, that serves no purpose other than aesthetics c:

at some point in the future she and sil will figure something out. it won’t restore her sight normally but it’ll still aid her - not that she’d need it, but it’ll be there for her anyway

Hello friend! I got thinking about Torna's crafting system again recently and was curious -- What kinda crafts would Aline, Avalon, and Ursula make? I could see Ursula making song sheets similar to Minoth's plays -- but what about you and Avalon? Do you have any ideas or have you not thought about it before? Do you have something else in mind for Ursula?

I feel like I've definitely made a post about this at some point in the past, but I can't quite find it right now. My main logic at the time, as I remember, was to let Team Aline provide some of the types of pouch items that are present in XC2 itself but not in TTGC - these types in full being art, board games, drinks, instruments, and textiles. From a gameplay perspective it might arguably make sense to pick the ones that don't have equivalents for the effects they provide, but that seems a bit limiting, so I'm disregarding actual gameplay benefits here.

With the list of missing types in mind, Ursula seems a perfect fit for making handmade instruments, since she mentions in her Heart-to-Heart that she can play a few! I do really like that song sheet idea, though - I can definitely imagine her coming up with little melodies to sing in her own time ^-^ She might feel a bit too shy to share them with the entire rest of the party all at once, though, admittedly. Maybe with Aline eventually, but it would take a long time for her to feel confident enough to sing in front of the others.

When it comes to the other two (i.e. me and Avalon).. I want to say that, originally, I said that Aline would make textiles? Considering she's from a small village, I can definitely imagine her weaving or sewing while she was there before it got razed and she met the party. Then, for Avalon.. making drinks comes to mind as something that might fit him, and that would technically go along well with the fact that every other team has a Blade who cooks (except that the other Blades all make food, specifically). However, I could also honestly see either one of us making art, too - maybe Aline's textile-making is a mix of traditional fabrics (that give textile effects) but also items of embroidery (that give art effects)? That could be sweet ^-^

Surprise spoiler time! Have one more subclass for the Resonant and the Deadeye: The Obsidian Reverberation and the Duelist Archetype respectively.

For the Obsidian Reverberation. while other subclasses of the Resonant focus on support or defense, this one goes full-on into the evil and damage side. I even came up with some lore, involving an entire demon lord that opposes the vibrations of the universe.

As for the Duelist, it was one of the first subclasses I thought for the Deadeye. It is, obviously, focused on duels, highly increasing the rewards you get from winning duels and giving you a constant buff if you win enough duels in a row.
