so, basically, if you have gay sex you will: get a drink thrown at you, have your factory broken into, get your head bashed by some robbers and need brain surgery, have a pipe explode in your house, get sepsis, have your kidney fail, need to make a deal with a murderer to acquire a new kidney, get kidnapped from the hospital after having a kidney transplant, get your head bashed in (again? but by someone else), accidentally almost murder your own brother, get another infection, be questioned by the cops (your coworkers), cover up the accidental attempted murder, have your car stolen, try to help your daughter through trauma but be terrible at it, question the person who kidnapped your partner and find out that murdering brother stole a gun, end up in a hostage situation, and accidentally shoot your own kid.

"Fuck canon, fanon all the way!" just leads to people playing with o/cs they gave canon names (often contradicting things that are explicitly stated in canon). Why get into a series if you just want to discard... like at least half of that series? Why ship those characters if you hate/want to rewrite their whole dynamic? If you have to change their personality to accomodate what you think is their sexual preference... why give them that perference at all??

I think I dislike ‘fuck canon fanon rulez’ takes because time after time I see how boring and predictable fanon is and how often it reinforces racism and misogyny etc. in ways canon never did

and I think having to work around canon and with canon to make something new usually ends up pushing people to make something weirder and cooler

It's obviously the view of the public changed this year. Even in the first half of the season when charles was the one getting pole and podiums he was already being criticized compared to carlos. The comments on any social media, ig, twitter, tiktok, were mostly saying ferrari was prioritizing him and Carlos was the victim. I knew things shifted in his podium at austria, when most of the comments on ferrari ig were saying it should have been carlos on the podium

And anytime charles does a mistake is over blown out of proportion. The same doesn't happen with Carlos. Carlos is the underdog who is getting the best results despite ferrari preference for the spoiled/brat prince of monaco. This is the "narrative" this season.

And it's funny because people keep saying carlos gets so much hate, but if you're paying attention this season he is mostly being defended by the majority, while charles is the one getting hate.

Yeah, this whole year has been like this, and while everyone knows how bad the car has been when it comes to Charles it's on him? If he pushes and bins it he's reckless, if he doesn't he's washed and overrated, if he fights his teammate he's a brat that wants everything for himself.
