#d&d world building
Text
Hello all!
I’m currently working on building my own D&D World and am currently working on building my own Pantheon and am wondering what advice you all have for doing this?
I know that there are the domains that are listed in 5e for the Clerics and that in general, the deities domains should be within the realms of those domains.
However, what advice do you have for making something more... specific? Like I could go the route of God of War, Goddess of Trickery, etc., but how do I do something a bit more... nuanced than that?
I don’t know if this makes sense, but I’m basically struggling with how to identify/create domain groupings for a single deity that are almost like, offshoots of the main domains listed in 5e

Has anyone else put off a peice of world building for 3 years? Like I have a very fleshed out cult in my d&d campaign, this campaign that I have been running for 3 or 4 years now, and I knew they had their own language. All the NPCs from this cult have it on their clothing and just... You never knew what the language looks like.
Anyways, in making official art for this campaign and one of my current partys, I was drawing a very important NPC (one apart of their party in the cult), I finally made the alphabet. You know like the written alphabet. Except I haven't adjusted the sounds to speak it, only read it...
I've put this off for 3 fucking years...
Also once the art is finished I'll post it.

Any more random Soul or other such Lore you’d like to share with us that you’ve come up with but can’t fit in the comic anywhere?
Tumblr media
GET READY TO READ. Chara Timeline Lore!!!
Also take all of this as soft cannon. Most, if not all, will not be showing up in the comic (or at least in this amount of detail). And the comic does not need this information to make sense.
These book entries are from an in-universe source.

I hope you enjoyed the world building :> Again this is mostly all for fun!
4th Wall Break Time! - Humans are completely oblivious to the fact “soul entities” are humans themselves. Their little heads would probably pop if they truly knew. So don’t tell them! - Monsters are still made of dust in my AU, but they are more physical than their Undertale counterparts, only slightly… - Both Humans and Monsters cannot do magic freely. They would need to go through extensive training to get…a Wizard license! :O - It’s strange, but the Monsters seem more human than the actual humans in this world…huh…

Imagine, if you will, a church of powerful clerics. They are incredibly knowledgeable and capable spellcasters and healers and scholars. But they don't train warriors, war and soldiers create conflict. They don't want a holy arms race.
Instead they have the mausoleum vault.
It is a heavily secured crypt of sealed burial chambers where they have locked away countless vampires. Many of them are knowledgeable and powerful, but cannot do much when faces with the order's overbearing holy power. And whenever the church has need of a lone powerful warrior, a durable agent to carry out an important task, they dig up a vampire.
They offer all the undead in their mausoleum a simple offer. Do the job and you might earn your soul back (the monks are quite capable of doing such things as undoing vampirism), or stay in the vault until you're willing to do the job. Try to run mid-job or betray the order and risk being hunted down and being stuffed back in your sealed coffin (which will be placed in a river). Because the order controls their place of regeneration, it's kind of hard to say no.
