One bit of distance I think that Babs and Jim will always have is that Jim is kind of incapable of truly moving on past Barbara's injury the same way that she is, and the way he talks about it does mean that she's always put in the position where she has to comfort him about it.
Like this is straight up stated in suicide squad 1987 (link). In Batman 451 (link) he's pressuring her to get more tests, she says shes' not dead he says but it's not the same, and he's dumping his worries of killing the joker on her. In Detective Comics Annual #5 when he calls Babs on the anniversary of her getting shot, he intends to check up on her but the narrative is still framed so that she's in the position to comfort him, and in Birds of Prey #89, he's telling Babs it's his fault she's in "that chair" and she is again forced to comfort him.
Was this probably an intentional character flaw by the writers? No (except for probably in Suicide Squad). But it still is a character flaw he demonstrates and something that I think would always affect their relationship. Babs can't really ever process around her dad b/c she always has to make sure that he's OK about her pain first.

Love how Alfred just takes that in stride. Like obviously he’d make a great mom he raised Bruce

Ra's knowing Talia is going to let Bruce go rather than do what she promises (trying to sway his mind to agree w/ Ra's) but still giving her the chance to do it b/c he can't help but hold out hope that she will be loyal to him, and being unsurprised yet sad when she does not.
In general really like this issue. I read it a few years ago. we get Talia breaking away from Bruce and her father (link) and their complicated relationship. We re-visit the 1980s "Talia goes against her father when it comes to what's right and Bruce" thing that was dropped for the majority of the 1990s, where she mostly just says she has to do what her father wants repeatedly as he pretty much treats her like a reproductive chesspiece for whichever man he has decided is his heir (just as bad a plot point as it sounds like). and you know it's leading up to lexcorp talia and takes place right after tower of babel.
the comic ends with Bruce expecting Talia by the plane, but she isn't there, she is riding off alone on a horse, away from both her father and Bruce

Robin was thrown overboard by the joker, they think he's dead (obviously he's not)
Some fans: Batman only sees Robin as a soldier.
Batman every time Robin is hurt/supposedly dead/dead: kill me i don't care. Life is no longer worth living. Everything is numb. I'm gonna spiral.
