don’t take this in an anti-je(ss)tra way because i do not mean like that (truly i love jesstra), but like… i think people need to realize that the scene in season 2 where Petra is opening up to Jesse is NOT inherently romantic at all. it absolutely is cute to interpret it that way if you want, but it kind of seems like a lot of fans take it to be strictly romantic, especially ones who are upset and don’t like je(ss)tra and/or didn’t like that it was a big part of season 2. but genuinely there are zero romantic undertones if you don’t choose to see it that way. the MAIN point of the scene is to represent Petra’s desperation to keep her friends close and her conflicting feelings on that knowing Romeo’s whole deal with his friends — which is a huge part of the season’s plot and her arc in general. but aside from that… she’s just communicating how important Jesse’s friendship is to her. friendship like that does exist and it does not need to have any romantic implication behind it.
