Does anybody else feel like mental health awareness has done very little to help them in material reality
#i was gonna say done nothing to help but that seemed too harsh#like there definitely is more knowledge about it now. maybe more people feel comfortable speaking about it which is good#but personally i don't feel that. like idk. workplaces will post about mental health awareness and then do nothing to help employees#the same w universities. my uni cut back the already meager mental health support#and then the government is doing absolutely fuck all as well#like idk im just back in a place i thought id gotten out of long ago and i still don't feel comfortable talking about it with people#maybe that's a me problem or maybe it's cultural or something idk. but in the 10 years ive been depressed (🫠) i don't think it's gotten a#whole lot better. teenagers are still dealing with the same shit i did and they're still not being taken seriously#women's mental health is not even spoken about.....anxiety depression sh eds etc are still ignored or seen as hysterical behaviour in women#or just normal esp with disordered eating. society hasn't changed people still want women to be stick thin and weak#like i know 10 years is a short time and there has been massive improvements in mh awareness if we look back over the past 50+ years#but idk i just think that it hasn't gotten better for a lot of people#i think specifically of belfast and like god. the amount of trauma there is the amount of homelessness the amount of substance abuse#drug abuse in particular that has gotten visibly worse over the past decade or so*#and i connect the dots n see the 2008 recession + a tory gov defunding the nhs + dehumanisation of homeless people & addicts + the troubles#+ ptsd + generational trauma + a negative peace + classism + paramilitary drug dealers + parties linked to those paramilitaries#and its like hmmmm i think we live in a society. and a mental health approach based on individual actions like journaling and meditation#isn't the way to go. or at least is not the be all and end all which is what a lot of mental health awareness raising seems to promote#*visibly worse on the streets. it was always a problem ofc but even a decade ago my parents never imagined it would be as bad as it is now#and it's become so normalised. i do think there's less individualism here than there seems to be elsewhere which can be good and can be bad#but i think we are becoming more and more individualistic. slowly. there's still a sense of community here but i do think it's changing#and callousness towards homeless people is one of the most obvious examples of this.#love when i put a wee asterisk in the tags of a post. like i have A Lot To Say lol

One thing that's so odd to me about the Eugenia Cooney thing is how there's still people who think she's in denial about her ED.
She knows. She was in a treatment program, she mentioned in it Shane's "documentary". The people who are wondering what she's saying to convince doctors (and the recent crisis team) that she's fine kind of boggle my mind.
She just tells them the truth. That she has an ED and either that she's trying to work on it by herself or that she does not want to get better. It depends on where you live, but very often medical professionals aren't going to bother putting limited resources towards someone who does not want the help.
She can say, "Yes, I'm anorexic. Yes, I know I could die. No, I don't think going somewhere would help but thank you for the resources." Whether they decide that's grounds for commitment or not depends on the laws of her state and the personal judgement of those evaluating her.
Leaving her to die and moving on to the people who are in her same physical state but begging for help isn't exactly a wild decision.
#when it comes to eds even those who WANT help struggle to get into treatment programs#some do their recovery themselves and some end up dying waiting for a spot#eugenia has the resources to get that support if/when she wants it#so a lot of ppl would just shrug their shoulders and say nothing we can do#it sounds ghoulish but that's really how things happen a lot of the time#eugenia knows she has an ed and she knows it's killing her - she's known for a long time#her family knows and her doctors know#she denies it online because she doesn't feel comfortable talking about it#and because any discussion about the disorder from a severely emaciated anorexic person who does not want to recover#would be considered promoting anorexia in a way her content does not currently do#yes it's all body checking and super triggering#but her discussing the details of her disorder would literally be giving tips on how to look like her#whereas saying no i eat i just look like this naturally carries a message of you can't do anything to look like me#(even if everybody knows in reality what's up)#anybody else really tired of people who have little to no experience with stuff like this being so vocal about it?#so many people who have zero understanding of the disorder or how treatment works coming up with all kinds of nonsense#then throwing a fit and calling her a vile bitch when their attempts to help don't work#it's actually so disgusting how many people were just sooo concerned and have now taken to idc if she dies she deserves it#she's a young woman who had her entire future stolen by a disorder that's notoriously difficult to recover from#sorry she wasn't the heartwarming success story you wanted#and sorry her symptoms are often unpleasant and she's not the poor perfect little broken ana girl you decided she should be#for you to lower yourself to give her some compassion while she's dying#tw anorexia#tw ed#tw eating disorder#the whole she's actually just a narcissist doing it all for attention bs really bugs me#like tell me you know nothing about anorexia without telling me you know nothing about it lmao#maybe those of us who've struggled with eds have just sanitized the whole thing a bit too much for those who don't get it#but it's so hard to talk about the uglier bits when the reactions are so vicious#eugenia cooney

thank you!!! very helpful to have info and i guess i may have to get a Twitter for updates/info. i was looking for help because i saw people talking about chuu discussing ed stuff and i was wondering if that was true and where anyone was sourcing that!
Yeah I usually try and post so that you can always be in the loop and get the orbit experience without going to other social media platforms but I didn't post about that because it was actually really triggering 😅
Fwiw Chuu is doing an episode with a show about mental health where she discusses her problems with binge eating, which is so bad it's landed her in the ER before. Not gonna go into more detail because even just the episode preview was kinda graphic. The show is called Oh Eunyoung's Golden Clinic and the full episode is out next week.

People say weight loss is for sure possible...but no one agrees on how to do it.
Dieting works...but there's now an "ob*sity epidemic" despite people lining the pockets of weight loss corporations more than ever.
Weight loss products work...but weight loss corporations are making the Exact. Same. Claims. about their products that they did in 1910 with the products that were sold and then discontinued over a century ago.
Humans are all meant to be thin...but there are families of fat people who stay fat no matter how much "willpower" they muster and have fat ancestors going back generations.
It's about health and not looks...but people who are losing weight due to smoking, cancer, illness, mental disorders, and other health conditions are praised for their weight loss and told to keep going.
Fat people aren't oppressed...but fat people have no positive representation, no proper access to clothing, face a wage gap, endure deadly medical neglect and abuse, have their deaths by police brutality excused with their fatness, and countless other aspects of oppression that they deal with every single day.
Fat people are all fat because they overeat...but you can point to any fat person on the sidewalk and there's an extreme likelihood that they're on their 30th diet attempt in the past 10 years while there's thin people who eat whatever they want, however much they want, and don't exercise yet never gain a single pound.
Fat people are privileged because they gorge on unnecessary food...but fat people are overwhelmingly living in poverty, are not paid the same amount of money for the same work as their thin peers, are not chosen for promotions, are turned away from jobs that an employer wants more than a "pretty face" for, are at major risk of workplace harassment, and endure oppression even beyond just that.
Fat people aren't treated badly...but people use the word "fat" as a metaphor and synonym for "ugly," "unlovable," and "unworthy," while at the same time believing "fat," the most basic term for a specific body type, is a dirty, taboo insult you should never allow to leave your lips.
Professionals agree that fatness is inherently bad...but almost any weight-related research study that people, especially weight loss corporations, use to justify demonizing fat people has the worst methodology imaginable with validity errors and logical fallacies galore as well as conflicts of interest due to how many of these studies just happen to be funded by the corporations that make millions and billions of dollars off of the demonization these studies promote.
All health conditions a fat person has are caused by their fatness...but there is not a single health condition that only fat people obtain, many fat people developed the health condition in question when they were thin or thinner, weight gain is often a symptom of said health conditions, fat people are not given the same amount or quality of healthcare as thin people, and repeated starvation attempts (also known as "yo-yo dieting") have been shown to worsen a person's health.
Fat people can't have eating disorders...but fat people are the group encouraged to partake in disordered eating by this fatphobic world the most and then are not given any support to recover.
Thin privilege doesn't exist...but thin people who see the way fat people are treated in society do their absolute damndest and take whatever drastic measures they have to in order to prevent themselves from ever becoming one of "Them."
Fit and fat are mutually exclusive...but there are fat athletes as far up as even the Olympics, and sports are intentionally made inaccessible to fat people to the point of fat children even being turned away when trying to join a sports team.
Fat people are ugly...but all we grow up ever seeing in media are thin, conventionally attractive people painted with layers of makeup next to fat characters who were intentionally designed with an ill-fitting outfit, matted hair, and all other traits that fit the "ugly" stereotype that the character designer could manage to slap onto a single person.
Fat people are big, bad bullies...but studies show that weight is the number one excuse that children use to bully their peers, outcompeting a multitude of other oppressed identities considered.
Fat women are just men and vice versa...but sometimes they're androgynous, and sometimes they're basically nonbinary, and sometimes they're just things, and sometimes they're nothing at all depending on what labels a fatphobe decides will hurt a fat person most that day.
Fat people are subhuman...but fat people deserve the same love, respect, compassion, and support that all people are born inherently deserving.

My tips to avoid eating:
• cinnamon to make your stomach feel full
• sprinkle a bit of salt over anything you fear to end up b¡nging
• mix RedBull and coffee to stay awake all day
• try sports like working out, Just Dance, going for walks, jumping ropes
• chew gum (but remember chewing gum contains a small amount of cals as well)
• measure and weight your body(-parts)
• watch TV shows like Insatiable, To the bone, Supersize vs Superskinny..., as a th!nspo
• tidy your room
• start journaling your everyday life and track your eating habits (apps like YAZIO and Lifesum are the best)
• try on old small clothes which used to fit you as a motivation
• draw your ideal body shape on top of your own printed-out body picture
• drink lots of water or unsweetened tea
• think of how different people are gonna treat you when you finally reach your gw
• sit infront of your mirror and only look at the parts you want to change
• pinch yourself in the arm everytime you think about eating
• try to sleep your hunger off
• wear tight clothes when you feel like you're about to b¡nge (nobody wants to see a pig in skinny fits)
• write down things you'd be able to buy for your skinny self
• smell something gross or imagine the taste of your least fav meal it will help

can i ask for you to elaborate on your issue(s) with those 'male positivity' posts? is it with the whole sentiment, or just with the "you're allowed to be angry" part? i agree w "you're allowed to be angry" being an oblivious at best statement. but i don't see any issue with the first two statements themselves (the "OP says..." and "commenter says...")
yeah so I already talked about some of this in the tags to those posts but sure, let's get into it.
OP says "if you’re a boy with a mental illness, a boy with a disability, a boy with a history of abuse, a boy who has an eating disorder, a boy with trauma, I need you to know that you are not a burden, that you don’t need to 'harden up', that you shouldn’t just have to 'get over it,' and that you are very brave" commenter says "once I transitioned I saw the change in people being like ‘Oh you poor thing I hope you’re coping alright’ to ‘Just get over it and man up’. Men, you’re allowed to suffer."
the implication of the original post is that men with these issues are told to 'toughen up' or 'get over it,' and conversely that women are not. the commenter then makes this subtext explicit by outright saying that people reacted more sympathetically to his trauma when they read him as a woman than when they read him as a man (at which point they switched to "just get over it"). the OP responds favourably to this addition, proving that the subtext "women don't experience this" was in fact subtext that they intended to be there.
I hope I don't have to explain how utterly absurd it is to claim that women have it easier in this regard, or that their emotions are granted more leeway or sympathy in any meaningfully systematic way. that is just MRA logic.
of course people's ideas about suffering, endurance, trauma, & emotion are gendered! people really do say things about how boys and men should just toughen up and not cry, &c. &c. MRAs, like a lot of other reactionary groups (like TERFs and SWERFs, or antisemites / white supremacists / conspiracy theorists who understand that something's not right with the economy but end up blaming 'minorities' instead of capitalists), take an idea with some truth in it somewhere, but twist it around into a conclusion that the idea in question does not entail on its own (here, "women are allowed to express emotion and garner sympathy by doing so") in a way that leads to resentment, disdain, & hatred for a marginalised group.
so, if it's true that (negative) emotion is thought of as a feminine weakness, why doesn't that translate to women being "allowed" to experience and express emotion, while men are not? for one thing, race has a lot to do with this—the myth of the Black "superwoman," for example, praises Black women for being (read: expects them to be) "tough," "strong," "brave," endless wellsprings of emotional / physical / financial support for others while requiring and receiving no support themselves. the assertion that women receive sympathy for their suffering thus reveals a serious ignorance of Black feminist thought on the part of the person making it.
for another thing, displays of emotion (mostly "negative" emotion, such as sadness) being thought of as primarily feminine means that women have to take especial care to avoid them in many circumstances, not that they're able to freely indulge in them! women's supposed heightened emotionality means that they're less likely to be thought of as capable of serious work, less likely to be promoted or hired, more likely to be financially and professionally penalised for any time they do display any negative emotion (or, rather, the other way around—the myth of women's heightened emotionality is used as an excuse to suppress women's earning potential & make them financially dependent on, and thus exploitable by, men).
on an interpersonal level, you're highly likely as a woman (and especially as a woman of colour) to have fairly mild displays of emotion be interpreted as hysteria, extreme anger, irrationality, volatility. you're highly likely to have your allegations of abuse disbelieved.
on an institutional level, you're highly likely to receive disdain and contempt if you engage in disordered eating habits or try to seek help for them, to have a request for help denied or neglected (disordered eating is just, sort of, what women do). you're also more likely to have a request for help turn into involuntary institutionalisation or psychiatric abuse (a lot of work has been done on the relationship between psychiatry and gender).
also on an institutional level, you are less likely to be believed about the pain you are in as a disabled, chronically ill, or otherwise sick woman (again, especially a woman of colour). you are less likely to receive medical care. you are less likely to have anyone give a shit about the pain you're in, since women are so emotional and melodramatic that you are probably exaggerating, and anyway, being in pain is just sort of women's natural state. you are certainly very unlikely to get any kind of medical care if you're a middle-class cisgender white (read: desirable) woman of 'childbearing age' & the extreme pain that you're in would require risk to your fertility to treat.
there's so much more I could go into here. the basic idea is that properly analysing the relationship between emotion, communication, trauma, abuse, race, class, gender, and the uses of rhetoric that references any of the above (e.g. "boys don't cry") is an enormous undertaking. any claim that implies that women (which women?) wholesale receive more sympathy than men (which men?) do for abuse or other pain that they experience, or that they are more free to express that pain, is both inconsistent with reality on a base level, and incredibly irresponsible. the fact (if it's even true) that "girls" are punished less for crying than "boys" does not a whole picture make.
and, like, think about it. we're living in a patriarchy wherein women are expected to care for and sympathise with men, to forgive men for varied wrongdoings in the family & in romantic relationships, to coddle them in order to avoid or appease their anger, to perform (depending on their class position) various kinds of domestic labour and social / planning work for men without recompense, acknowledgement, or thanks (because knowing how to do and plan housework is just, like, women's natural state of being)—a system where the family and the home faciliate and cover for mass amounts of traumatisation and abuse, including sexual abuse, of girls and women—a system wherein trans women are highly likely to be traumatised and yet disciplined out of expressions of anger or upset under threat of social exile—a system wherein cisgender women cannot be allowed to become too wary of or angry at men (read: too unwilling to continue marrying them and performing a significant role in the social reproduction of their class). how on earth could such a system also enable (rather than allowing for occasional escape valves for, but mostly seeking to supress or transform) women's free expression of upset, sadness, trauma, anger...?
this is the same kind of logic that leads people to believe and spread nonsense such as "people believe women who come forward about being abused and not men," which is just demonstrably inconsistent with everything that we can observe about reality.

hunger strikes are eating disorders promo is a discourse that needs to end NOW. students in brown, princeton, mcgill and many many other places are hungerstriking for Palestine. there were hunger strikers in ALL provinces & territories in Canada on a rotating hunger strike. A graduate student at my alma mater declared a hunger strike, beginning on the evening of Feb.16. Her strike continued through Feb.20 — the day that the Lieutenant Governor delivered a speech from the throne at the province Legislature.
additionally, hunger strikes as civil disobedience has a history and it is an honour to be part of that. i'm indian and india has a history of hunger strikes in the independence movement. hunger strikes are also one way in which political prisoners have long asserted autonomy over their bodies. i'm gonna need white folks on this website to read a damn book.
To be honest I don't think they believe that hunger strikes are eating disorder promotion because it's such a nonsensical claim, they just want to find a reason to yell at someone they don't like doing something better than them.
But I agree, even in Palestine prisons, they're doing hunger strikes... unless you're calling prisoners who have no autonomy over their own bodies "harmful" and "dangerous"? It's insulting and honestly not even worth addressing.

the effect of what (and how) you eat
okay, this is a big topic. and so this is a long post. i'm going to be going over the effect of what you eat and why it's important to think about what foods you are consuming. don't worry! i do my research-- at the end of the post will be a few resources, and i'll show where i've gotten my information.
lots of dietary advice is available over the internet, but often the people absorbing the information do not understand the why. knowing where your information is coming from,, and not believing everything you read online is key to actually maintaining a good, healthy diet.
before you read: TRIGGER WARNING THERE IS MENTION OF EATING DISORDERS,,
let's start with this: like everything in this age, food is a double-edged sword. overconsumption and underconsumption can both kill you. what you eat; how you eat--it can help or hinder whatever your goals may be.
here's the effect/s: the connection between diet and mental health is profound. while we’ve long understood that diet plays a crucial role in overall health, emerging research in the field of nutritional psychiatry sheds light on how what we eat directly impacts our emotional well-being and mental state.
the brain-gut connection: the gut is closely linked to the brain. trillions of living microbes in our gut have essential functions, including synthesizing neurotransmitters. these neurotransmitters send chemical messages to the brain, regulating sleep, pain, appetite, mood, and emotions.
to improve your gut health, here's what you can do:
by eating a varied diet that includes fruits, vegetables, whole grains, nuts and seeds, essential nutrients are provided which feeds the beneficial bacteria in the gut. high fibre foods promote gut health by supporting good bacteria.
fermented foods, such as yogurt, kefir, sauerkraut, kimchi, and miso are rich in probiotics—live beneficial bacteria that boost gut health. kombucha (a fermented tea) is another option.
avoiding reducing processed foods can reduce the diversity of good bacteria in your gut. when i say processed foods, i'm referring to ultra-processed foods, for example, fried foods and frozen meals. they may be easy and cheap, but they include preservatives, artificial colouring, chemical flavouring and texturing agents. all of which our bodies are not made to consume. it's ignorant to tell you to avoid processed foods at all costs. that's not realistic, and a horrible mindset. instead, you should manage your intake. enjoy treats every now and then and don't punish yourself for it.
hydration is key to a healthy gut. water supports digestion and nutrient absorption.
stress management, eating well and exercise can also help your gut microbiome's health.
by having a healthy gut microbiome, you are helping your body to have lower chronic inflammation, have regular bowel movements and more effectively absorb nutrients. therefore, you will have a stronger immune system, have clearer skin and support your digestion and metabolism.
why eating protein matters: proteins are made of amino acids, which serve as the fundamental building blocks for various structures in our bodies. these amino acids are essential for forming enzymes, hormones, tissues, and DNA. protein is vital in maintaining and building muscle mass. when activities like strength training and physical exercise are engaged in, protein helps build and repair the muscles.
hemoglobin, a protein in our red blood cells, transports oxygen from our lungs to other tissues. without adequate protein, oxygen delivery would be compromised. antibodies, which defend against infections, are made of proteins. a well-functioning immune system relies on sufficient protein intake. collagen, a protein, maintains the integrity of our skin, hair, and nails. adequate protein supports healthy skin elasticity and wound healing.
the recommended dietary intake for protein relies on factors such as age, weight, height, gender, activity and overall health. remember that individual needs can vary, so consulting with a healthcare provider or registered dietitian is advisable to determine your specific protein requirements.
many diets exist that cut out entire macronutrients (keto for example) but that is not the way. each macronutrient has great importance in helping the body function.
carbohydrates are the body's (including the brain) preferred energy source. they enable muscle contraction during exercise and even at rest. carbs maintain body temperature, support heart function, and aid digestion.
the keto diet comes from the belief that when carbohydrates are not providing energy (are not being consumed), the body will use reserved energy stored in lipids (fat). while this is true, this diet is not maintainable-- it throws the body out of whack, storing more energy to maintain homeostasis.
fats provide energy and are essential for hormone production. they contribute to cell growth, brain health and vitamin absorption.

choosing the right carbohydrates can help maintain blood sugar levels. our brain primarily runs on glucose (obtained from carbohydrate-rich foods). you can opt for slow-release carbohydrates to maintain steady energy levels. slow-release carbohydrates (a.k.a low GI food) provide a more sustained and gradual release of energy compared to other carbohydrates. examples include fruits, vegetables, whole grains (grainy bread, brown rice, oats) and sweet potatoes. high GI foods rapidly spike blood sugar levels due to their quick digestion and absorption.
going too long without eating can lead to low blood sugar levels, resulting in irritability and fatigue. overeating to discomfort can also leave you feeling tired and lethargic. consistent, moderate-sized meals help maintain stable blood sugar levels and promote an even mood.

people with eating disorders may disregard their health, body, body image and lifestyle goals. they use food as a way to punish themselves and gain control over their life. restrictive eating disorders can lead to 'binging behaviour'. bingeing serves as a way to numb emotions. anxiety, stress, and depression can trigger binge behaviours. consuming certain foods or substances (like junk food or alcohol) releases dopamine, the “feel-good” neurotransmitter. this chemical rush can lead to physical addiction, reinforcing bingeing. a culture (unfortunately which is abundant in the world today) that emphasizes consumption as a measure of worth can contribute to bingeing. messages about thinness, drinking, and material possessions can drive these behaviours.
i hate that i am having to say this but alcoholism is bad. and caffeine addiction is bad. in no way is harming your health aesthetic or 'a vibe'.
limiting caffeine and alcohol can also improve mood. again, i'd like to stress that there is never going to be one perfect diet, and allowing yourself to enjoy whatever food you like is perfectly fine- as long as you are doing so in moderation.
everything is a balance.

I might be projecting because my love language is gift giving and I am the kind of person who needs every detail of my life planned down the second and even my routines have routines but-
I have so much pity for Jasper. Like, don't get me wrong, he's got a great family and his wife is the fucking best thing since sliced bread, but she can see the FUTURE. imagine him trying to plan something special for their anniversary, a trip abroad or something, a wonderful surprise. First of all, he can't even decide until the very last second because he wants to keep it a surprise, which is already impossible, but then, THEN. He books the tickets and before he can even tell Alice what he's planned, she's packed their bags and figured out the itinerary and has already experienced the whole trip in her head and is already telling Jasper how great it will be and how much they will love it and how much nasty back-breaking sex they will have at every opportunity. He would love it, I'm sure, and loves her power and her having total control over him but!!! This poor man can't even plan anything special for his wife because she sees it happening before he does it!! Every gift is left to the last minute, and every experience has to be spontaneous, I don't know why he even tries honestly. That's why Alice is in charge I suppose
(I say this all in jest, I love Alice and her ability and that's probably one of the things Jasper loves most about her but. Imagine the suffering)
Jasper having to go along with any and all schemes he gets roped into is such a goldmine for comedy. It’s so great. I don’t feel the least bit bad for him; it’s like a delicious extra layer of karma. Like, sure sure we can argue that his empathy superpower is karmic justice being served against him, but him being reduced to a standing lamp who sometimes gets plucked out of Alice’s accessory pile to be promoted to Bag-Holding Arm Candy is absolutely incredible.
Listing out his trauma/problems just gets funnier the longer you go on because his problems range from "horrifying appearance that terrifies other vampires no matter what" to "wife has never once taken his advice". He’s a vampire who is hardwired to kill because murder = survival but he has an honest-to-god eating disorder because he feels the suffering of all his victims. He’s a two-time veteran where he was nothing more than a body tasked with inflicting violence on opposing forces to retain power and control over others but he’s married into a family of pacifists who like to play human in a world where being found out by said humans can and will get you killed by the vampire mafia. He has dogshit willpower but he has to sit through high school English classes with depressed/horny teenagers over and over again for appearance’s sake. He's a bulletproof immortal struggling to get a good grade in Being Good because of his ingrained ruthlessness and he will never once surprise his wife with an anniversary present because she’s a bratty, meddling little psychic.
I agree with your entire assessment here but I also laugh so hard when people try to woobify Jasper or be like “poor baby” because as a Jasper stan I love seeing this bitch suffer. Jasper will never know a moments peace no matter what happens to him and I can't help but point and laugh at his misfortune ♡

it was no secret to rin that you struggled with poor eating habits and issues with your body image. he'd watch as you'd watch yourself in every mirror you'd pass by and after every meal you'd eat, he'd watch as you'd put the leftovers in the fridge, knowing that you'd never end up eating it.
rin didn't really understand exactly what you were going through but that never stopped him from giving you the support that you needed. he always helped you through meals, gently urging you to eat more if you were feeling up to it and if not, that was fine, too.
"you can always have some more later," rin's voice was gentle as he held your cheek in his hand, pressing a soft kiss to your forehead before giving you some water and putting your unfinished plate away to reheat later in the day.
and a lot of the times when you didn't end up going back to finish the rest of your food, rin never got upset with you. he knew from how you've reacted in the past how difficult it was for you after eating more than usual. instead, he didn't mention it unless you did and even then, he wouldn't say much. he'd press a kiss to your lips and tell you that he was glad that you did your best.
"sorry.." you mumbled softly as rin closed the fridge before turning towards you once he heard your voice. "i know i told you that i'd eat more today"
your saddened expression made rin's heart ache but he just watched you for a few more seconds before speaking. "you dont need to apologize to me," rin made his way over towards you and gently pat the top of your head. "there's still tomorrow and even if you hardly eat tomorrow i won't be upset with you"
"you didn't choose this so im not gonna be mad at you whenever you're struggling. you never have to apologize to me.. okay?"
his hands made his way to the sides of your face, cupping your cheeks to bring your gaze to his. you pouted softly and nodded, wrapping your arms around the back of his neck in search for his comfort. and who was he to deny you of it?
rin gently cradled the back of your head as your legs wrapped around his torso. he had no issues in holding you if it meant that it'd make you feel better.
"i love you, rin rin"
your soft tone against the skin of rin's neck made a chill go down his spine but he smiled, kissing the side of your head and gently rocking you as if to soothe you more. "i love you, baby"
a small giggle fell passed your lips at the pet name, hearing how rin's voice was slightly shaky, likely because of how nervous he was to use it on you. pet names weren't really something you and rin used with each other, so you appreciated him trying his best to comfort you.
"are you gonna do your yoga now?" you asked suddenly, which confused rin. the rocking stopped slightly and you had to resist the urge to laugh. "i don't have to.. i can always do it later"
you pulled away slightly and brought your hand down to trace small hearts against his chest. "no, i want you to right now.."
a small blush dusted your cheeks, which confused rin even more. he didn't understand what was making you so shy, but he decided not to ask you. "i can go do it right now, then. would that make you happy?"
"well, it wouldn't make me happy," you groaned softly, making rin laugh lowly next to your ear. "i just want you to do it right now.. that's all"
rin didn't say anything else in case he unintentionally embarrassed you any more. "come on, then. you can come watch, okay?"
he was sure that's what you were wanting in the first place so when he saw your eyes brighten ever so slightly, rin was happy. the contrast to how sad you had looked earlier made rin's heart swell but he didn't say anything. instead, he held onto you as he moved towards the designated room, kissing you softly before putting you down so that you can watch as he did what he was meant to be doing.
