Here are Gym leaders 5-8, the toughest that the Amity Region has before the Elite Four. If you came here from the previous 1-4, then here's the down low of this au.

It's the typical Pokemon adventure setup but with Space-Time Distortions playing a major role in part of the story. The Amity Region has been subjected to these distortions for over a century causing many Pokemon to behave and appear more differently than any other region on record (Ex: Shinies are more common). It's the reason why Amity is strict with who becomes new Pokemon trainers in their region. With the aid of their multiple national parks, the park rangers, game wardens, and gym leaders aim to help and keep newcomers safe from distorted Pokemon and vicious poachers.

However, a new threat is looming in the darkness of the night. Waiting for the right moment to strike, Danny and co. will be in for more than just an average Pokemon adventure in this au.

@ectoberhaunt Day 17. Valerie’s got a huge variety of unique Ecto samples from the ghosts she’s fought with and encountered as the Red Huntress. And unlike Danny she doesn’t get a lot of proper introductions with them so she just makes her own names for them like Jazz did in the show. Even if she knows their names, she tries to avoid using them as she doesn’t want to humanize her enemies.

And something she doesn’t like to admit, she finds some of their ecto pretty cool(def not a fan of Danny’s, especially not during blackouts)….

Tucker: ¨Oh, man, Danny. I'm sorry. I--I couldn't control myself.¨ Danny: ¨Dude, don't worry about it. You were under the genie's spell, and you broke it.¨ Tucker: ¨Yeah, but none of that would've happened if I wasn't jealous.¨

While the idea that ghosts are driven by emotions was a fanon theory for years and didn't become fully confirmed until A Glitch in Time came out, there was some evidence about this in the series itself.

One of the earliest examples is how Tucker's ghosts powers or ghost side from ¨What You Want¨ were driven by Tucker's feelings of jealousy and anger of being left behind by Danny. The more jealous he got, the more he started to lose control with his ghost powers.

As you can see by the dialogue, Tucker brings up if the ¨ghost is him¨ because it looks like him. Danny points out that Tucker was under Desiree's spell, which is true. But the ghost was a manifestation of how he felt based on what Desiree says in the episode.

¨His jealousy will transform him forever into the most powerful ghost boy in the world!¨ ¨More than you know. Tomorrow his jealousy and frustration will cement into rage and rebellion. He will be complete.¨

So yeah, Tucker's ghost part was driven by very negative emotions that overtook him thanks to the wish spell.

There are other examples of ghosts that could be brought up but i wanted to focus on this one since it does confirmed by the characters in the episode itself.

Desiree Redesign

Yay, I finally finished my Desiree redesign. I leaned more into her humanity instead of her genie status, but I did want to give the same cuff imagery by putting the design along her dress’ wrist. 

My main goal for my Desiree is to be able to actually pin-point where she originates. I chose to make her Palestinian as I wanted to use some embroidery patterns that are iconic from the culture. I will admit my ignorance when it comes to Palestinian history, but I believe I would have my Desiree to be alive during the Early Ottoman Ruling of Palestine, which would be around 1683 AD.

I want to visually show Desiree’s rebellious nature in her outfit. Her dress isn’t as long as her tail makes it out to be. Her veil does cover her hair, but you can still clearly see it because of how loose her veil is. Despite everything that has happened, Desiree still loves her culture.

I changed her OG color scheme(blue and purple) to red and purple as a visual hint as to what her personality/ultimate goal is.

For those who are curious:

My Desiree’s ultimate goal is to gain enough power to grant her own wish. Despite the front she puts up, Desiree doesn’t fully understand how her powers work, thus uses humans as test subjects to see what can/can’t be done with particular word choices. 

What is Desiree’s wish?

Well, I actually don’t want to change much of Desiree’s origins. Mainly, I want to make her an authentic depiction of a harem girl. However, my Desiree wasn’t apart of the Sultan’s harem, but his wife’s.

Harem’s of influential women were usually personal servants/ under personal protection. However, a romantic relationship developed between Desiree and the wife(I swear I will give this woman a proper name along with her own redesign someday).

Desiree was transparent about she wanted: To run away together to a place where they can exist in peace. She was always the optimist of the two, the dreamer who would pray to the stars for a day their plan could become real. You can only imagine what Desiree felt when the Wife suddenly banished her without even saying goodbye.

And thus Desiree’s story continues on like her OG counterpart. She manifests a ghostly form that can grant wishes, adopting the perception of being a genie as a way seem more legitimate. 

She powers is manipulate ectoplasam to take properly take form(to explain how Danny is able to suck these ‘wishes’ into the thermos). Desiree can’t manipulate time, but she can manipulate memories to make it seem like she truly did. 

My Desiree wants to wish to meet the Wife again. It seems no matter how Desiree tricks humans into helping her, she can’t seem to find the Wife.

“Tell me,” cooed Desiree as she rose from the flames, “was a kiss worth the price?”

Vlad didn’t have the energy to yell at her, to fight; he was too exhausted after trying—and failing—to save Maddie.

He should have known that Desiree would find a way to twist this wish in the most vindictive way, but he hadn’t realized he’d made it in her hearing, and then he hadn’t been sorry that he had—until now.

Desiree waved a hand when he didn’t answer, and the flames vanished as if they had been under Ember’s control instead of hers.

Magic, the lot of it.

A fool might say that none of it had been real, but that wasn’t true.

This was real.

Every last ashen thing in this room was real; the difference was that none of it had been destroyed naturally.

Butter biscuits, was he supposed to consider himself lucky that Desiree had decided to play with him and had limited her damage to one room of his mansion? Did she think that would save her once he recovered the strength to hunt her down? Did she think that would save her once Daniel discovered what she’d done and hunted her down?

Jack might try to join in the hunt, too, but even Desiree could evade that bumbling oaf given half the opportunity. Really, Jack would only serve to handicap Jasmine—and perhaps Daniel, if he still wanted to protect his secret.

Vlad wasn’t sure he did, even if it meant Jack finding out exactly what he’d done to the person he’d claimed was his best friend.

“You said you would give anything to share one kiss with your Maddie,” mocked Desiree. “And when Phantom told you he’d strike a deal with Nocturne to make sure that never even happened in your dreams, you wished—”

“I was there,” Vlad interrupted. The phantom scent of smoke still clogged his nostrils and stung at his eyes, making them tear up.

Or were those the symptoms of a truth he didn’t want to acknowledge, a price that should have never been paid?

Maddie—

“I know what I wished.” His words were a whisper now, but Desiree was still smirking, still thriving off the destruction she’d wrought. She couldn’t be as strong as Spectra would be if Vlad were facing her instead, but Desiree wasn’t afraid to play the long game, either. She knew what chaos the death of a ghost hunter at the hands of a ghost could create.

Vlad’s eyes found Maddie’s unmoving form again.

This couldn’t be over.

He wouldn’t let it be over.

“So was it worth it?” taunted Desiree again. “That one kiss? Knowing you’ll never get another from her?”

Vlad’s eyes flicked back to Desiree. He took a slow breath, imagined he was in a board meeting with imbeciles, and ground out, “I said I would give anything to share that kiss with my dearest Maddie, and yes, I wished it were so to spite Daniel, but Maddie was not yet mine to give. Her life is not a price you should have taken, nor is it a twist you can claim was within your rights.” He pushed himself to his feet and let the fury coursing through his veins gather in his palms as crackling lightning. “Fix this, or molecular destruction at the hands of Jack Fenton will be the least of your concerns.”

Every time I think about Desiree I kinda lose it. If she’s not the strongest ghost we’ve seen, she comes pretty damn close on account of the fact that she can basically rewrite reality

But it LITERALLY does not matter ‘cause anyone. And I mean anyone. Can just wish her away. Wish her to undo what she just did. Wish her into the thermos. Wish her back into the Ghost Zone. Wish her to take a fucking chill pill. ‘Cause she’s not like other genie characters where you have a limit, it’s not like she can run you out of wishes

It’s fun though, ‘cause stories surrounding her, in order for her to be a proper threat, have to go from a standard “fight the baddie” to “find the baddie,” ‘cause she’s at her most dangerous when you don’t know where she is

‘Course that just makes it all the more frustrating when she shows up and the first thing Danny does is... try to fight her. Like kiddo you Do Not have to do this. Just tell her to go away. You can do that

Desiree and Dora Mattingly are two villains who are beautiful on the outside, but sinister on the inside. Yet, I've recently been wondering to myself what would happen if there was a hybrid of them both. I imagined this fusion as a human similar to Dora Mattingly (With her dress included), but having genie powers like Desiree.

Hmm, Desiree for the headcanons meme?

Headcanon A:  realistic

Over the many centuries as a wandering genie, Desiree has developed a fascination for jewelry, gemstones, and other various treasures that she hoards in her own separate "ghost door" dimension (which resembles the inside of a grand palace)

Headcanon B: while it may not be realistic it is hilarious

One time when Vlad found her and tried to wish for "all that he rightfully deserves"... all she gave him was his cat (Maddie) before poofing away right then and there lol.

Headcanon C: heart-crushing and awful, but fun to inflict on friends

Back in her past life, Desiree grew up in a very poor/sickly family... and originally wanting to better provide for her loved ones was what drove Desiree in becoming the Sultan's harem girl. Sadly, once she later got thrown out by his jealous wife, Desiree found out that her own family passed away when she returned home... which only further added to her heartbroken state for the rest of her days... 💔

Headcanon D: unrealistic, but I will disregard canon about it because I reject canon reality and substitute my own.

Despite her rather "sultry"-looking appearance, Desiree is actually on the Ace spectrum in terms of her own sexuality/romantic preferences (leaning somewhere between Gray-Ace and Demi).

The bats have so many folks around, even if they aren't always working together. Enough that folks like to joke/write about Danny just kinda showing up acting like he already lives there. He just kinda blends in.

I'd love to see more magic motivated versions of this. Some kind of spell that affects the bat's perceptions of the past and present, making them actually miss that this boy wasn't with their family too long ago. Maybe it changes their understanding like it's a time line shift, maybe it fogs their mind just a tad and makes them glaze past something like it wasn't even there. I like the second if only because I feel like that would make it more likely for the bats to realize a spell was a foot.

Imagining this from Danny's side, hes terrified this whole time of getting found out. He knows how and when he showed up here and maybe even how flimsy whatever magic is in place is. Imagining a Desiree wish that was either very carefully worded or Not so carefully worded. Maybe he placed himself with the Wayne family with the expectation that he would quietly mooch of some rich idiot until he was ready to be on his own. Or maybe he wished himself to be a part of the batclan, taking up a mask and patroling with them as a bird that Doesn't Exist.

Ofc eventually the spell has to be broken, leaving the bats confused worried scared angry probably even amused, and a billion other things. WHY did this teenager decide to adopt himself into the Wayne/bat family? Who the hell is he and where did he come from. Someone call Zatanna, there is some magic Fuckery going on.

Danny never thought that Desiree was serious on her threats, or at least the threats that had to do with "turning him into a duck and abandoning him in another dimension."

But it seems that even ghost genies had their limits, because the third time he "ruined her plans," she made good on her threat. Danny wasn't worried about Amity, Team Phantom could take care of that just fine.

He was more concerned about his webbed feet and duckbill. Plus the fact that he showed up in the middle of a warehouse occupied by mobsters, although the supposed mobsters were more involved in trying to catch him (were his ears wrong or had he heard an "aww"?) than killing him. One of them even named him "Duck Hood."

Jason didn't know how to feel watching all his employees chase a duck. It was a weird duck, with glowing green eyes (was it possible for a duck to dive into the pits??), and he was sure he saw it float by at some point, but at least his "lair" was a little more lively.

He wondered if he should give it to Damian or keep it.

Phantom: pff, I don't think so, it must be an Amity Park thing… But sometimes I'm wish the GiW disturbed other heroes

RedHuntress: I don't know if that was very clever or incredibly stupid

Phantom: ho, at least it's done and she didn't finish her sentence whose wish she didn't get~
