We as Queer People have a duty to understand Pink-Washing. We must see through our identities being used to perpetutate violence.
This incredible documentary by a trans Law Professor details how this works. 7 years ago, in Seattle, they successfully worked with other activists to shut down a single pink-washed event. The backlash from the Israeli state is something we all can learn from.

One thing I wish I'd see more of among Ratio fans is some thought about how he views himself as a teacher.
Like yes, of course he refuses to compromise on the quality and rigor of the education he imparts, and he would find it unforgivably unethical to lower his standards in order to pass more students who had not genuinely learned the material. This is core to his character.
However, as someone who is a teacher IRL, I know the absolutely miserable feeling setting that kind of standard can cause. There's the obvious disheartening sense of disappointment ("Are students these days really not capable of doing the work correctly? Is our future in danger, if this is the highest level of understanding our current generation of students can achieve?"), but even worse than that is the self-doubt.
"Is this somehow my fault? Am I not teaching this material in the right ways for the students to learn? Is there something I could have done differently to get through to these students? Would a better teacher have a higher passing rate?"
We know that Ratio does (or at least did) struggle with feeling inferior to the Genius Society, so I think it is also likely, as much as he absolutely will not budge on his academic standards, that he has doubts about his teaching ability as well.
This is the man who wants to educate the entire world to cure the disease of ignorance, and yet only 3% of his actual students are able to get there. How can someone who gets so few of his direct students to a state of enlightenment hope to enlighten the whole universe? If so few students are successfully learning the material of a given class, doesn't that mean the teacher is doing something wrong?Would a better teacher--would a genius, maybe--not be able to impart their knowledge more efficiently and educate even the most challenging of students?
As someone constantly struggling with that balance between keeping academic standards high while also meeting the needs of today's students, I think the passing rates of his courses must affect Dr. Ratio much more deeply than I've seen fans discuss. I think he would question himself harshly over his class success rates, and I think he must be constantly trying to push himself to become the best teacher he possibly can be.
tl;dr: I hope one day the HSR fandom will stop sleeping on the fact that Ratio is an actual practicing professor who probably has astronomical levels of teacher angst. 😂

I know there’s a dog saint (thank you CT) but can anything, in theory, be granted sainthood? I know that in the case of the dog there was. An unspeakable amount of rage, but could it happen again? Like, in theory, could a horse that were to do something like save the Pope (idk how, maybe by kicking a potential assassin in the head) become a saint? Or something like those bees that preserve icons, say they were to save a painting of Christ from damage from like, smoke rising from a fire, would they be eligible? Or is that just all moot because they’re not humans?
Saint Guinefort is not a saint, they are a folk saint. Canonization of a saint is a rigorously controlled bureaucratic system which works with four tiers of acknowledged holiness in life.
The first step to sainthood is recognition as a Servus Dei, or Servant of God, by at least a bishop but ultimately falls under Papal jurisdiction. Technically speaking, the Pope does hold the power to just skip all the steps and traditions, but it is so rarely done that you can count it happening on one hand in the entirety of the time of the Holy Roman Church as it is resembling any semblance of modernity.
That said: Dog Saint Sunday forever. Folk saints are innately broaching the heretical since it is icon veneration unapproved by the Holy See. Guinefort's village was repeatedly ransacked by inquisitorial forces because they refused to stop venerating St Guinefort. Pretty much the only rule for becoming a folk saint is if enough people consider you a folk saint that it grabs the attention of the Vatican.
If we're taking soundings on who we should make the next dog saints btw, I say we should start venerating Saint Laika of the Firmament, Saint Negro Matapacos of Santiago, and Saint Loukanikos of Athens.

PFAS: The secret toxins in your body
This just contributes to highlight the fact that we should only prepare our food using conventional cooking methods (stainless steel, cast iron, glass, and ceramic). We are being killed by all the processed foods and artificial materials that do not decompose naturally.

Blaha makes me always want to start eating drywall because they're so....fjdjd
Blythe is the star of the show; she can charm basically anyone, can haggle them better deals, can make the most of locked up information sources viable - she speaks in double meanings with ease and does it elegantly. She prances around dressed in expensive and fine clothes, with delicate materials like stockings and still looks put to the 9s.
Raha isn't that, he's none of that. With being neurodivergent, he struggles with social interaction, and prefers limiting it. He always chooses comfort over form in clothing, they're always incredibly utilitarian. He'd prefer camping in the woods than stay at an inn, somewhere he'd be uncomfortable AND have to pay. But he hath bewitched her because he's...earnest.
Blythe with all her talking usually ended up attracting like birds. People who double speak, who are the most suave when talking but are liars, people who's word is sweeter than their action, so to be met with someone who....is none of that - who wouldn't lie to her, who would spend 4 hours cooking just to be able to make her her favorite food, who would knit her a winter sweater, who would genuinely want to protect her. It's new and...how can someone be able to resist that. And he IS knowledgeable, and won't be patronizing - she loves to find out new things and he is a treasure trove of extremely obscure information on botany and monsters.
So of COURSE she likes him. She can be all that, but when she turns around there's someone a constant that will always be truthful, always stand by her, always want to listen. He prefers being an audience, and she the star, so both are happy with the roles

VivziePop and her “POC characters”
I said “see ya in january” but Vivzie and her fans had been talking non sense every day after my bingo post, so let’s talk about this, shall we
You know the deal, this start because of the hazbin hotel cards and one specifically talking, the Alastor card
Tumblr media
The card in particular had voodoo symbols and yeah, look at first I didn’t know anything about voodoo or what was the problem so when I start seeing all the tweets related to the situation and explain it why it was bad, I was “ooh… that’s not good”
Also people reacting (for second time) that Alastor is suppose to be black. Like I didn’t know it at first, until I start watching redesign videos and seeing people drawing him with black features
But people would go and said (you know, trying to defend Vivzie) “oh but you don’t had to” and my honest opinion is:
Tumblr media
Like I said, it’s important because that how you can tell a character is supposed to whatever ethnicity(? is, otherwise people are gonna making them white
“Even if they are not human?”
Yes fulanita, even if they’re not human, Steven Universe had gems with some black features (kinda not the best example, but i can’t come with other right now)
I’m like I said before, fans of Vivzie start defending her and specifically one doing a thread about “other POC characters” if you see the thread you know what I going to talk now
Half of the characters are:
1. Stereotypes
2. Non human that you can’t tell if they’re black, latinos or whatever, only if you see their voice actor
3. Majority of the characters are created by people of the staff
When I talk about to brother how Alastor is supposed to be black he goes: “maybe she doesn’t know how to draw black people” and “that should be hard” and I stop him because that bullshit.
I start to explain him that is not hard because she just had to give some texture to the hair and add some features, and hard? To her? The one who made complex design? Can draw a different hair? Nah man, that woman is just racist, like pretend to be shocked. Of course he understands my point.
And the thing that definitely is pissing me off, is how Vivzie decide to ignore this, but not stuff like “my name is Caine I’m your bitch” or “Charlie discourse about what she is supposed to be”, and of course blocking people talking about the situation and trying to explain why is bad
So in conclusion. If you want to introduce any topic in your series 👏 do 👏 the 👏 proper 👏 investigation 👏 because you don’t know if it bad or just a stereotype. And we should expose all the bullshit that VivziePop had done before and still do

it always pisses me off a bit when i see people trying to use their platform to Educate The Public and the "educational resources" they provide are twitter threads, tiktoks, and carrds. like yes absolutely a social media post from a primary source is invaluably helpful when it comes to getting first-person perspectives on current events, but you just cannot learn extensive history from tiktok. idk. maybe you can. maybe i'm being too quick to write off tiktok as a whole. it's just rare that a tiktok is going to be well-researched and provide sources for the viewers to vet or use for further research on their own, so it's natural to be doubtful.
people easily believe anything on social media if it's well-said and seems sincere, which is just dangerously stupid. vet your sources. think critically. don't just blindly believe a tiktok because the person filming it is using smart people words
