Here's your daily reminder to click for Palestine!!!
U.S. residents, take 5 minutes and use this link to pressure your members of Congress to stop sending weapons to the Israeli military!!
(Letter variants you can copy/paste under the cut!!)
Original letter written by Jewish Voice for Peace:
I am writing as your constituent to ask that you do everything in your power to press the Biden administration to suspend all weapons shipments to the Israeli military, and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah, even though President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line." On May 7, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and ordered 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to evacuate. The 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere to flee should a full invasion commence. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Slight variations I created (so that emails don't get marked as spam for being identical to each other)
Variation 1:
I'm writing to you as your constituent to ask you to do everything you can to pressure the Biden administration into suspending all weapons shipments to the Israeli military and opposing any and all future military funding to Israel! The Israeli government is pushing forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah. President Biden has repeatedly said such an operation would be a "red line," yet his administration is still supporting this operation. On May 7th 2024, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians in eastern Rafah to abandon their homes. 1.3 million Palestinians have been displaced. Those sheltering in Rafah have nowhere to flee during a full invasion. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. Their fate lies in the hands on Congress, in your hands. I urge you to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late. Thank you.
Variation 2:
I'm writing you today to ask that you do everything in your power to convince the Biden administration to stop funding Israel. We have to telk them to stop all shipments of weapons to the Israeli military and oppose all future military funding to Israel. The Israeli government has vowed to push forward with a large-scale military operation in Rafah... President Biden made it clear that such an operation would be a "red line," and yet he continues to fund them. On May 7th of this year, the Israeli military seized the Rafah border crossing, a crucial passage for humanitarian aid, and forced 100,000 Palestinians to flee their own home of Eastern Rafah. Should a full invasion commence, 1.3 million displaced Palestinians sheltering in Rafah will have nowhere safe to go. Millions of Palestinian lives now hang in the balance. I am begging you now, as your constituent, to do everything in your power to stop this unfolding catastrophe before it's too late... Thank you

Don't Criminalize Anti-Zionism! Sample Email to send to Congress
This is an email template that I wrote up that can be used to send to your members in congress to put pressure on them to vote against the criminalization of pro-Palestine protests You can also use this to call If emails to congress have a word count limit, or if calls have a time limit, just sending the first three paragraphs works as well
Dear [Representative's name] I am writing today to push a very important message; Anti-zionism is not the same thing as anti-semitism. I am deeply saddened by the increase in Jewish hate, but criminalizing an unrelated ideology, Zionism, is not the way to do things. Many Jewish people are anti-Zionist, and many Zionists are anti-sematic.
The destruction of Synagogues and violence against the Jewish population is tragic and must be stopped, but so is the slaughter, displacement, and continued repression of Palestinians. Both of these issues need to be acted upon. They are not opposites, rather, they are joined in their shared goal of increasing human tolerance to arbitrary differences and ending hate
Israel's campaign of destruction in Palestine is not a Jewish agenda, but a Zionist and colonial one. We must not let an entire group of people be repressed the same way the Native Americans were, the way the Hawaiians were, the way the Jews were. Some important notes on the issue:
The Jewish hostages were treated far better than the Palestinian "prisoners," which I put in quotes because these people were largely detained without charges, the 99% conviction rate in court being a clear signal of a sham trial.
During the attacks on Gaza, Israel championed the phrase, "there are no innocents in Gaza," A city whose population is 50% children
They are currently attempting an invasion of Jenin, killing and injuring dozens of people. Many of these murders were caught on camera, and in them, the victims were seen trying to flee before being shot down. Children are among these lost souls
I believe people of different backgrounds can live in peace together, but denying the existence of the human rights violations that are taking place right now will only serve as permission to continue this behavior
Thank you for your time

Public media is facing its most immediate and serious threat yet.
The Administration sent Congress a rescissions package that would claw back $1.1 billion in public media funding already approved by law. If enacted, this action would instantly destabilize local public radio and TV stations nationwide.
This isn’t a distant threat. Congress could act very quickly. Send a message now urging your Members of Congress to vote against rescinding public media funding.
Clawing back this funding – about $1.60 per person each year – wouldn’t just force stations to scale back – it would dismantle essential services that countless communities count on. From life-saving emergency alerts to local reporting and storytelling, and educational resources that support families, job seekers and teachers – these services exist because public media is committed to serving everyone, regardless of income or zip code. In many rural and underserved areas, the loss could be total. Stations could shut down entirely, leaving entire communities without access to trusted, essential information.
Most Americans stand with public media. In fact, a recent Pew Research Center poll found they’re nearly twice as likely to support continued federal funding as oppose it.
Now it’s our job to speak up and make sure Congress gets the message: clawing back support from local stations would leave communities less safe, children less prepared for school, and all of us less connected. We won’t let that happen.

The Department of Homeland Security, acting on an Executive Order signed by Donald Trump, is pushing this country into new levels of authoritarianism. We need you to take five minutes right now to act.
On Saturday night, Mahmoud Khalil, who recently earned his graduate degree at Columbia’s School of International and Public Affairs, was returning to his New York apartment after Iftar. As Khalil and his 8-months-pregnant wife entered their home, they were intercepted by plain clothes DHS agents who abducted Mahmoud.
A permanent resident of the United States could face imminent deportation. Email your representatives right now and demand they do everything in their power to secure Mahmoud’s release from ICE custody.
Mahmoud is being targeted because he stood up for Palestinian freedom. He was one of the lead student negotiators for the Gaza solidarity encampment last year, which called for an end to university funding of Israeli genocide and apartheid.
This is an attempt to crush free speech and to feed Trump’s mass deportation machine.
DHS agents reportedly arrested Mahmoud from his home, even after being shown his green card. When his wife — a U.S. citizen — protested, they threatened that unless she stayed away, she too would be taken. His wife and lawyer were told he was taken to a detention center in New Jersey, but he was then moved again without informing his lawyers and family where he was being taken.
These are the actions of a fascist government, and we must generate overwhelming public outrage and pressure to ensure Mahmoud’s release. Congress will not act until we make them act.
Mahmoud was targeted because he spoke out for Palestinian freedom and protested for an end to the U.S.-backed, Israeli genocide of Palestinians in Gaza.
His arrest is a blatantly unconstitutional attack on one of our most basic and core first amendment rights to free speech. Khalil’s disappearance by DHS agents is designed to spread terror throughout immigrant communities and Palestinian rights activists on college campuses across the country.
The Trump administration is making moves from a well-worn fascist playbook: monitoring and punishing political speech on Palestinian rights, while simultaneously expanding its mass deportation machine.
The Right is attacking pro-Palestine activists and immigrants, and if we do not all stand up and resist then all of our communities — and movements for justice — will be under attack as well. Our members of Congress must wake up and start fighting back.
We must fiercely resist and speak out to ensure Mahmoud’s freedom.

The guy who answered the phone for my congresswoman was so chill, helpful, and respectful.
He could tell I was nervous and he just kinda helped me through what I wanted to say before the recording part
If you’re wanting to do more than emails, definitely call! While yes this is one experience and my first experience, it was good enough I recommend it for others

Trump’s most explicit authoritarian move is here, and if we don’t fight back, it won’t stop with Mahmoud.
On Saturday, March 8, 2025, Department of Homeland Security (DHS) agents unlawfully detained Mahmoud Khalil — a Palestinian American, lawful permanent resident, and Columbia University graduate student — without a warrant.
Plainclothes agents forced their way into his building and took him into custody as he was returning from an iftar meal. His wife — an American citizen — is eight months pregnant.
Now, the White House is openly tweeting about how Mahmoud’s visa is going to be revoked, despite the fact that he is not being charged with any crime. This is brazenly because he is a pro-Palestine, anti-war campus organizer.
As an organization with young advocates who also clash with the policies of the Trump administration, we know that we have to make a stand here – because who knows who will be the next target of this administration. Will you take a moment to demand your member of Congress intervene and call to free Mahmoud?
This is how authoritarianism takes hold — one activist, one student, one voice at a time. Moreso, it’s meant to send a message to activists and protesters across the country: “Shut up, or YOU could be next.”
Trump has personally vowed that more arrests are coming for students and activists who dare to protest against his pro-Israel, far-right agenda. Mahmoud’s arrest wasn’t random — it followed an online smear campaign from pro-Israel groups demanding his deportation.
This is political persecution, and it is just the beginning. Take a moment to demand your member of Congress act against this egregious violation of First Amendment Rights!

Template & Script
As promised, I've drafted the script for calling your senator or rep, in addition to a template that you can insert information into (your name, and the name and address of your elected representative) concerning the USAID shutdown.
I'm also linking this webpage where you can look up your congressfolk's names and contact addresses, and this page where you can send free faxes to the senate.
I cannot say this enough - FLOOD THEM WITH MESSAGES. Emails, faxes, snail mail, phone calls, messages through contact portals. As many different methods as you're comfortable using, use them. Send the same message several times. Do not let them forget that we care about this.
January 1, 2025
Honorific, Senator/Representative Name Street Address City, State, ZIP code
RE: Dissolution of the USAID
Dear Senator/Representative [NAME]:
I am writing to express my extreme concern over the current administration’s actions regarding the United States Agency for International Development (USAID). I urge you to speak against the efforts of the Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE) to dissolve or control the agency, as I and many of my colleagues are deeply invested in both the reality and the reputation of our nation’s humanitarian ethos, and believe that the effort to dissolve an independent agency is illegal on several fronts.
I do not believe that the United States can call itself a “defender of freedom” if we choose to openly place our own capitalist interests above the physical wellbeing of civilians, especially those put at risk through our actions. Our consistent support of Israel throughout this conflict and many before it have directly impacted the ability of civilians in Gaza and the surrounding areas to live in peace and safety, and we should take responsibility for that.
Thank you for your time and attention. I look forward to seeing what solutions you and your colleagues propose.
In Hope,
[NAME] Pronouns Profession
---
Phone Script for speaking to a Congressperson about the dissolution of the USAID
Note: You will very likely be speaking to an aide or secretary, not directly to the elected official in question. This is acceptable and is not cause for concern.
Hello, this is [name] and I live in [city]. I’m calling with some concerns about the recent events around USAID. Who am I speaking with?
You may want to write down the name and position of the person to whom you are speaking. Then when you follow up via email or contact portal, you can say specifically whom you spoke with and on what subject.
I would like to express some very serious concerns about the current administration’s attempts to dissolve USAID and cease its humanitarian efforts. It seems to me that such actions are illegal according to the Foreign Affairs Reform and Restructuring Act of 1998, in addition to being unconstitutional. What actions will [Senator/Representative Name] be taking to speak against this?
If the response is unsatisfactory, vague, or negative, you may skip the following paragraph and proceed to the next.
I’d like to suggest that it would be seen positively by the voting public if [Senator/Rep Name] were to make a public statement concerning the issue. I understand that there are active legal challenges already in place, and that waiting for those to move through the courts will take time, but public support for those challenges and open criticism of the administration’s flagrant disrespect for due process would inspire a bit more trust from constituents.
It's a scary and uncertain time. We don’t know what’s going to happen and we don’t know who to trust. But a firm stance and public statements of support for respecting the law and what it stands for – that will go a long way toward addressing people’s fear. I look forward to hearing [Senator/Rep Name]’s stance on this issue in the coming days.
Thank you for your time.
You will be asked for your full name, address, and phone number, so be prepared to give those. Be as calm and polite as possible, but make note of any rudeness or push-back you may encounter during the call and include that in your follow-up email.
Note: Your follow-up email can be the above script (with the italicized notes removed) and a short paragraph about who you talked to and whether or not their response was encouraging. It doesn't have to be long or involved or take a lot of your time. It's just another way to let them know - I'm invested in this and I will not let you sweep me under the rug.
