I just beat the main story of Pokemon Violet. I will now be writing Penny x Main Character fluff/fanfic. Is there a fanon name or two for our protag being enby, should I make one or two up, or should I just assume for the purpose of this fanfiction that Juliana and Florian are non-binary?

Hi. Um. Been awhile since I wrote fic.

Here's an unsettling gothic-esqe thing about the pokemon protags. And my headcanons behind them. This has uncanny valley elements in it along with some minor child torture (kinda?) Things in it so if you're not into that. Consider yourself warned.

Lmk if you need something tagged here, I didn't really know how to tag this

The teen entered the room. The rest of the building had already been explored and this room was the last one that remained. 

To their shock, a figure actually stood in the room. It was dark, with no windows, but an ambient glow allowed them to see. There was nothing in the room except a single chair with straps and some kind of rune carved into the floor. The figure, wide and imposing due to the massive embroidered cloak he wore, stood facing away from the door. 

"I knew you'd come eventually." His voice was uncharacteristically quiet, almost subdued. As though he were lost in thought. 

The child said nothing. The door shut behind them, plunging the room into that odd, empty, not-quite-darkness. It was silent. No music played that only they could hear. 

"I've had my suspicions…" The man turned, making the light in the room surge. No light fixtures hung anywhere, but suddenly the room was much more visible. Pristine white walls, unbroken, encapsulated the space, making it feel sterile, eerie. 

The child still said nothing. 

The man watched them, his only eye unblinking as he searched them. 

"You see…" He paced a bit, turning back towards a wall. "Throughout history, there have only been… five or so documented cases. The first being in ancient Sinnoh. The next, only about fifteen years ago in Kanto. The next, a couple years later in Johto. Then a couple years later in Hoenn. Them modern Sinnoh. The few who know were wondering if and when the next would come…" 

He turned back to the child, still keeping his distance. He was on the opposite side of the wooden chair. "Please, take a seat." 

Unbidden, their legs moved left, right, left, right, until they sat in the chair. They looked up at the man. 

His seafoam green hair stuck up at all angles, adding to the air of madness in his good eye. "They're only referred to as the CORRUPTED. No one knows where or why they come…" He turned away again, allowing the child to view the broad cloak he wore. It was very exquisite, large swaths of color and design swirling into a pretty pattern. 

"Usually a child… appears from nowhere one day. The mother claims she'd always had a child, though there are no records. No father. No photographs. Others in the town are convinced the child existed, but no one actually rembers anything about them. It is as if they simply popped into existence one day…" 

He turned back to the child in the chair, watching them closely once again. "And they always appear just in time to save the world from some disaster. Usually involving humans who became too wrapped in their own hubris to notice the damage." 

The child kept watching silently, not blinking. Not breathing. Not feeling. 

His voice raised slightly as his breath hitched, staring into their eyes. Or rather, past their eyes, into what laid beyond. "It has been debated where these CORRUPTED come from or what purpose they serve. Its hard to say, as most of the time they simply fade from history. They become the champion, complete the entire pokedex, stomp the entire region under their feet, and then disappear. People forget them as quickly as they came and fade from history." 

The man walked to the other side of the room, blank eyes following them closely. No sound came from the room, except for the man's breathing. "Only one of the CORRUPTED remains. A boy from Kanto. He never speaks. He is... not quite normal. It is said that he does not eat or sleep. He cannot speak. He disappears for years at a time. However, he has said that he no longer has any memory of the events of his time during his original pokemon journey until he defeated the Elite Four," he murmured.

"It is said they have an unsettling appearance. Though never could anyone quite understand why." He swung back up, looking back at the frozen child before him, pointing his finger at them. "No breathing. Not once blinking. Blank eyes, not quite seeing. Sickly pallor. Do you eat? Can you? Do you sleep? How many townsfolk have offered you sleep or rest out of pity? How many children have you frightened? I don't believe you've even spoken!" 

The child opened their mouth and spoke after a beat of silence, as though considering their next move. 

The man shook his head and grinned, a cruel, cold facsimile of happiness. "No. You know how I know you are lying? That is not a language you should be able to speak." He watched them closely. "I do not even know what language that is, however I understood every word. I know of many languages, and that one is a language that a human mouth should not be able to make." He narrowed his eyes. "And the pokemon. They flock to you, as though they sense something off about you. As though they can tell something is happening. Legends appear before the CORRUPTED. Is your god trying to eradicate them? Are they tinkering with our world?"

He continued to watch the child as he grew closer. He suddenly snapped his fingers and the straps sprung to life, wrapping and tying the child's limbs to the chair they sat in. They did not struggle. 

"Do not bother calling your pokemon. My scientist has locked them the moment you entered this room." The and drew closer, until he stood scarcely a foot away. 

"What are you?" he hissed. "Why are you here? What calamity will befall the region? Who sent you? Are you even human?" 

The child opened their mouth again. Static was the only thing that came out, their unblinking eyes soullessly watching the man in front of them. 

The man scoffed. "No, do not lie. I have no use for your lies." He straightened up again and turned away. Dead silence ensued for a moment. Two. 

He turned back, his face enlightened by the cold smile strung across it. He chuckled. "Well, if you refuse to tell me… I will find out myself. You could prove useful to my takeover of the region. If not, I will dispose of you. You may have been sent to take care of my plans and I cannot have that." 

A machine lowered from the ceiling, mechanical and loud, though it sounded like a soft whirring in the ears of the child. They did not move. Simply watched, detached. 

The man moved back and smiled at them again, his teeth showing just a bit too much. "Let us find out exactly what you are, creature." 

The beam fired and the child's vision was engulfed in white, their mouth stretched wide, wider, static erupting from their gaping maw, louder andbrjfd louderrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrŕŕ ŕ2222222222

ERROR. THERE WAS A PROBLEM. PLEASE RESTART THE GAME AND REFER TO THE MANUAL IF PROBLEM PERSISTS. 

You sigh, pressing the power button. The game flicks to black. You press it again, making the screen flash white before showing the logo. You tap on the game. That was weird. You wonder how long that took to code.

Honestly, I want to see a psychological horror game with an Autistic protagonist. Not a psychological horror where everything in the neurotypical world is monstrous, like monster vacuum cleaners; but like, a protagonist, who is Autistic, reacting to the horrors around them. Like, cacaphonic music meant to symbolise sensory overload, the protagonist reacting to bright lights, getting icked out by the feeling of blood and flesh under their feet, monsters that represent social contact.

Sort of like Silent Hill: but Autism.

It's Beryl Jewel! Johto's very own professor! Finally gave her a look that I think fits them well. Couldn't decide what jacket to to choose from so I featured the two I liked the most. They have a rightfully deserve tittie window, cause why the hell not.

As the only third main protagonist so far, I come to realize that Beryl kinda reflects Silver a lot in design. Outside of the red( something I hope this to incorporate in Aiko's design as well. Probably the shoes and bow), they both have colored hair and both grow up to embody some sort of punk style ( Beryl with their hair and piercings, Silver just goes all out lmao). I think it really plays in the sibling bond I see these two having.

Does the Yugiohs goes to space?

DM: No space content. Lame 0/10

GX: Judai spends one episode on an alien planet and comes back with a deck full of aliens. They also fight a satellite in space at the end of season 2 and best boy Judai once sent his enby dragon partner to space once. Slightly scarce but decent space content. 6/10

5Ds: City falls from the sky and a motorcycle flies but neither to or from space :( 1/10

Zexal: Alien from space is always at the protag's side from episode 1! And the second season is all about even more aliens, complete with an epic journey through space to fight some aliens on another planet. Very good space content 8/10

Arc V: Exactly one scene where a monster attacks from space like a satellite. 2/10

VRAINS: Still no space. I'm getting bluespaced. 0/10

Sevens: The program for rush duels is a robot on the moon that's very plot relevant in the season 1 finale and throughout season 2. The Goha 6 also come down from space at the beginning of season 2 after attending school in space for a while. The final duel also takes place entirely in space after the main gang built a rocket to space and powered it with explosive curry. Awesome space content. 8/10

Go Rush: Entire show takes place in space and includes so many aliens! 10/10 Best space show.

I’m pretty neutral regarding Star Boy (thou I did see a TikTok saying since stars are genderless, they COULD potentially have been Disney’s first non-binary character) but I will say I am disappointed that a black girl could potentially have had a romance and then didn’t. WOC in Disney animated movies, especially dark-skinned girls, keep getting the non-romantic stories and it IS genuinely suspect.

I do definitely think the darker-skinned protags need their love interests and romance stories. I don't think Disney Corp is intentionally trying to keep them all single– I think the demand for more protags of color and the demand for more single heroines just kinda. Crossed over at a weird time. It just seems very sus that everyone in the audience hopped onto "this should have been a love story" the second they found out she would've had a light-skinned love interest. And now all of the fandom focus is on him and not her, the actual protag of the story.

Honestly, in regards to romance, what I'm waiting for is their black Disney Prince. Naveen was made intentionally ethnically ambiguous, and he's the darkest-skinned prince in the lineup.

Will say as a sidenote, I doubt that they would've had Star be genderless tho. All of the art book descriptions refer to him as a boy, and Disney's not free from corporate shackles enough to have an enby hero. I mean, look what they did to Strange World last year.

Lyra has ADHD, Ethan, Silver and Kris all have autism all 3 of the protags have things that theyve only done, so like, Ethan battled Red on mt silver, Lyra did the time travel stuff with celebi, Kris did all the stuff in the ruins of Alph and all the stuff with the legendary dogs. also u might notice that in the lil drawing i did of them when theyre like, adventure age and stuff- Kris dosnt have one of the johto starters— thats cus like, in my ver at least- okay so like, Kris and Ethan where childhood besties, but like, Kris’ parents r team rocket scientists n kris moved away from new bark when team rocket disbanded n stuff, and their parents moved to hoenn, so kris’s starter is from the hoenn region. anyways they moved back to johto bc their parents heard abt the whole thing with team rocket trying to reform so, yeah- oh yeah and while kris was gone, lyra moved in, and when kris moved back they felt like ethan replaced them so they where more off on their ownish and stuff, but thoughtout their adventures kris warmed up to lyra and reconnected with ethan :D

THE FINAL HANGOUT for Desuhiko. I. Think. I've gotten all of the Baubles up to this point. Going into this chapter, every character has one Bauble left to find for one last chill-sesh with them. The way that lines up looks deliberate.

Like, if this is the final chapter, it makes sense that everyone's last bauble to close out their Gumshoe Gab would be located here.

Oh god, are we breaking up?

You're literally the only character who has shipping tags pop up in the tag list when I go to type your name at the end of the post. Not even Kurumi. So if this is what it sounds like then you're about to break the hearts of approximately 100% of the game's audience.

Yuma has the patience of a saint. Imagine spending an hour hanging out on an empty rooftop with nothing to do but get rained on, while your only companion (who asked you to come here) is evasively trying not to talk to you.

I would have excused myself and bailed after like five minutes.

This conversation is coded as hell. No wonder Desuhiko's the only character with algorithm-prioritized shipping tags. He's gotten closer to a love confession in this brief conversation than Kurumi has in hours of hanging out with Yuma and constantly refuting that she's his girlfriend, anime-style.

This is purposeful ship bait. The game's made clear that Yuma/Kurumi is its OTP. It refuses to shut up about it even though it's moving that subplot along at a snail's pace. But the coding in this conversation is clearly meant to throw a bone to the shippers.

100% "If you get it, you get it. But if you don't then Desuhiko's just being a silly-billy by how seriously he's taking this." A paper-thin subtext with just enough deniability.

And judging by the hashtags, people have absolutely taken the game up on its offer. In fairness, reading into things like this is what you have to do to squeeze even an ounce of same-sex romance out of most IPs. Writers will ship-tease until the cows come home but balk at giving us openly gay/bi characters.

At least we got our cool enby Halara. As long as Kodaka doesn't lose the fucking script in the final chapter and sticks the landing for them, Halara will easily be the best LGBT character he's ever written. (Not that the competition makes that difficult or anything.)

Trust Yuma to be utterly oblivious to the subtext here. It's a long-established character trait that he struggles with understanding people when their behavior doesn't match his standards of normalcy. As is typical of Kodaka's protags, he is aggressively the Straight Man.

The musical equivalent of saying, "No, I will not go out with you, but I would like to be friends instead."

Desuhiko is not taking rejection well. But at least he's not doing that thing some people do, where they'll let someone go on tour with them as a fan while utterly convinced that, if he gives it some time, Yuma will come around and realize that joining the band really is what he wants for his life.

Desuhiko's in too much pain right now to accept Yuma as a fan. But he's accepting Yuma's rejection for what it is. He isn't deluding himself to cling to something that can't be. He's processing his emotions and allowing himself to feel. That's the first step in healing.

He is, however, stonewalling. His moment of vulnerability has passed. The defensive walls are up and stronger than over. Accusing Yuma of only wanting to be his fan out of pity is a defense mechanism.

Yuma has successfully pried Desuhiko back out from behind his walls. He's sorry that they can't form the band that Desuhiko wanted but there is a strong basis here for an incredible fanship, one that could change the course of both of their lives.

Sorry, Yuma. You talked yourself into this. Fortunately, I get to bail and let you two have this private moment together.

As is pretty well established by this point, I don't have a high opinion of Desuhiko. It's personal. He hits too close to home and reminds me a lot of myself at his age. But I can see why others would like him and his dynamic with Yuma.

He's a far cry from what I expected him to be when I met him. I expected a much more objectionable character, especially given Kodaka's track record. But actually, Desuhiko's pretty cool.
