Ruby is done! I hope y'all like some oc lore dumps cause oh boy, Ive got thoughts for her.

Tldr: She's Vil's Step sister. They are pretty distant with each other, He isn't aware that his dad treated her poorly after he went to college

Ruby Schoenheit, Originally Ruby Red was born to two prominent figures in the modeling industry. Her father passed away when she was very young, and her mother remarried to Eric Venue when she was 10. Making Vil her step brother, they're three years apart, although it feels like a larger gap due to the difference in maturity between them.

Vil and Ruby rarely interacted while they were growing up. As by the time they met, he was already deep into his acting career, and spent most of his time outside of their shared home.

Three years into their marriage, around the time Vil went off to Night Raven academy, Ruby's mother passed away. Leaving Ruby alone with Eric. Being concerned for the growing beauty of his stepdaughter, and how it could damage his own sons career, He began demeaning her.

Pointing out every perceived flaw with her appearance(Her dark hair, Her eye color, Her eyebrows, Her height, Her beauty marks, Her round face shape), how her high pitched voice was annoying, how childish she can be. This affected Ruby heavily, leading her unique magic to be... morally questionable at best.

Two years of this before she received an invitation to the Blue Fairy Charm School. She left a note for her step father before running away so she could attend. Hoping for a better life where she'll again be loved.

Lore sparkle sparkle, sorry if any of yall love Eric, I just dont trust the guy for some reason. And love some drama for my silly lil ocs hehe

Other little design details, She styles her hair in a similar way to how Vil styles his, she wears slight platforms to try and be a bit taller like him. She watches every movie and show he's been in, often falling asleep to them

unpopular opinion (maybe? i can’t tell atp) but i really liked the ending of sex education. i feel like it was more hopeful than sad. maeve was given the courage to keep following the career path she wanted. i was glad they didn’t end that part of the storyline with someone telling her she couldn’t be a writer and her just giving up. although her and otis aren’t together now, i feel like where they left off made room for them to reconnect later.

Sex Education Season 4 Review

Unfortunately it wasn’t as good as the others. It’s less that it was bad or that I didn’t enjoy it, and more that it sort of failed in its duties as a finale. I really liked the finale, it wasn’t until I finished it that I was left like… that’s it?

Starting with the Pros: I’m glad they had the sense to end it here. This season has gotten hated on pretty hard so far, which makes sense, but isn’t quite deserved. Even though it wasn’t as good as it COULD’VE been, it was still good! In particular, Aimee, Eric, and Adam had wonderful and satisfying arcs which I found quite compelling and felt like a lovely send off to each of their characters. Maeve’s ending, despite being a point of controversy, was fitting. She had a difficult but moving season, and her destiny was always to be a writer. As disappointing as it is that she doesn’t end up with Otis, I thought the writers justified it quite well. It would’ve simply felt wrong for her to stay back in Moordale just for Otis. She was always going to get out.

This brings me to the Cons. I have to say, my biggest disappointment with this season has to be Otis himself. Being the lead character, I really wish they would’ve chosen a more personal storyline with more depth to it to send off his character. Instead, they had him acting like a child the whole season. He’s the primary character and yet he has the least interesting, least sympathetic, least moving storyline. It was all about his relationships with Maeve, Ruby, and Eric, and his competition with O. Nothing really about him. They didn’t give enough closure as to how his future looks- he’s no longer the school sex therapist, which is disappointing. He agreed to think about working with O, but that’s all, and that isn’t the most satisfying conclusion. They left him in a very nondescript place. Additionally, many former cast members weren’t in this season. As a result, I felt that there were a number of missed opportunities. My other big complaint is, predictably, the change in setting and new cast of characters. I really didn’t love the new school. I don’t think I need to elaborate on that too much, it was just kind of over the top in a way that felt misplaced and unrealistic. As for the new characters, most of them weren’t bad, they were just unnecessary. The one character I did have an issue with was O, who was a rather grating presence. Which I don’t think was something all that good for a finale. I didn’t find her character at all interesting or sympathetic. She was really annoying, and didn’t grow on me at all over the course of the season.

To sum things up, I wish the writers had just focused on the characters they had already. The new characters weren’t as interesting (naturally), and I thought the season could’ve benefitted from more of a personal journey for the characters we already know and love- such as Otis, Jackson, Ruby, or Viv. When a show ends, I always really like to have some closure on where each of the characters are headed in the future, such as new passions, future relationships, careers, etc. While again, they did a lovely job with this with a few characters, there were a lot of characters who just left me unsatisfied (namely the aforementioned 4). I enjoyed the ending, but it left me feeling like a lot of precious time was wasted with new characters and misplaced storylines. It didn’t feel as though the writers quite understood how important this season was, and failed to treat certain characters with the care they deserved.

I am still trying to figure out if I liked the final season of Sex Education because some things felt off. I liked it a little bit more than Season 3 but I still get the feeling it was off. I didn’t feel Otis got any character development because he remained with a lot of his toxics patterns from Season 1 and didn’t apologize for any of them. The finale made it seem like everything was fine again but he was consistently awful all season.

Aimee and Eric had the most consistent arcs since Season 1 and remained till the end the best characters along with Jean. The new characters I liked them because they added new topics of discussions but it was also hard to care about them as a whole. I feel like there were a lot of characters such as Viv, Jackson, Cal and Isaac that that deserved a lot more but I am okay with their ending. Not much to say about Adam, I think his arc was very well done. Ruby (and Ruby x Otis) remains one of their biggest fumbles because they had the biggest potential. I genuinely still find Maeve and Otis one of those couples that the writers insist are show stopping but are just boring to watch.

Hello! I've seen you mentioning various RWBY reactors in posts. Do you have like a top list of recommendations? Been trying to find more ones that are positive about the show (including the later Volumes).

Well my personal favorites would be:

- Xiao Long Media (V4-9 reactions, honestly probably the reaction I’m most excited to see especially if it’s Bee related)

- KaitoDan (He’s been making videos about Rwby since near the beginning)

- Kiaxet (V3-9, her and Megan are a great duo and were even on the Aftershow for RWBY)

- Eric Reacts (Honestly he needs more attention he seems like such a sweetheart)

- ghoxttherebel (I have never seen someone so absolutely hyped for this show before, he’s guaranteed to make you smile)

- Sirs and Madams/Cheryl Watch Party (They are more for the music, but they’re all great)

- Melissa Hime (Absolute pure soul, gets super invested)

- Liam Catterson (Another guy who seems like such a sweetie)

- Robin Rising (I don’t agree with everything he says but he seems to come at the show from a very fair perspective and I can respect that)

And as for the newer blood:

- Definitely Not Definitive (Almost completely caught up and an absolute delight)

- NSAF (If you’ve seen any of my posts I’m willing to bet you’ve seen the ones about her)

- Open Arms (Another duo, another that’s really into dissecting the music, but it’s really fun seeing Mortius introduce Casper to this show, and he seems to really love it)

- Patrol Nation (Unfortunately his reactions seem to be based on request so I don’t know how often he’ll post videos but his reactions to the first two volumes have been fun)

There’s also What-The-Heck-Is-RWBY that started as a liveblog here on tumblr and then started doing reactions on YouTube instead halfway through V4 to help hopefully speed up their reaction process. They’re great as well.

Hope that was at all helpful to you. I know there’s probably more but these are the main ones I watch and pay attention to.
