it's interesting to go back to the start of Seafoam and see Thala before she heads down the long, winding path of vengeance. Her personality at the start leans more towards her being a lover, not a fighter, and she only eventually becomes a fighter because she's a lover.

Because, where I'm at in Part I, she's sweet and she's grieving and she's scared. She's just trying to take care of the people she loves (namely her mother, but when she heads to the capitol in Part II and befriends the other Stoli and gets close to Solera they're included in that category, too). But, that being said, it's not like the anger that fuels her later on comes out of nowhere in her personality. There's like an underlying current of it that she occasionally taps into when the situation calls for it--which is when someone she loves is being hurt.

I guess, now that i'm thinking about it, she's already on the path to vengeance, she's just not aware of it yet.

In today’s media landscape where everything is always about big shocking reveals with little to no narrative set up or follow through, going with the most obvious route and actually making Langdon have an addiction problem was the most subversive choice they could make imo. And to me the fact that there is so much outrage is evidence of that. It was the obvious answer all along and was right in front of us the entire time, and yet most of us still didn’t see it coming. Because Langdon is a kind, charming guy and he’s likable and put together and highly competent and we didn’t want it to be him. From the get-go this show has been asking the characters and the audience to examine their internal biases, and now we are all being forced to whether we like it or not. And as disappointing as it all is character wise, in hindsight I think any other resolution to this storyline would have felt like a cop out.

The hardest, but most important, part of my transition has been untangling what my personal dysphoria is, and what is more a result of cissexism.

What I mean by this is that I learned that I am not dysphoric about certain aspects of myself, my body, and my life, but my discomfort in these aspects was influenced by the cissexist culture I live in which told me I couldn't exist as myself.

It's definitely a slow process, but I have found that it helps me self-actualize and actually see myself instead of what others demand of me.

it's so strange to me that naveen andrews was completely absent from that variety article on Lost's racism in 2023. not a single mention of him or sayid whatsoever (except for an odd comment from harold) especially considering he did come out and express his "general dislike" of the show.... especially considering sayid is subjected to some of the most obvious racism from the show over the course of it's run.... he was completely absent from the getting lost documentary.... he gets a pretty rough treatment from the "fans" who seem to consider him a bad actor because he drops his accent on occasion.... even though he was the only non-white supporting Lost actor to be nominated for an emmy and golden globe..... and they blame and talk shit about him because he proposed the romance between shannon and sayid (and we all know how the average misogynist Lost fan feels about shannon)..... and he wasn't happy when maggie grace was written out of the show.... the decision kind of fucked over sayid's entire arc....... his role and screen time was heavily reduced after it..... and sayid's six season presence in the show was reduced to fans complaining that sayid should have been with nadia in the finale – not shannon..... when that doesn't make any sense for the thematic premise of the show... and naveen is a hardcore #shayid fan – obviously.... idk but I feel like there's a lot more to come out about what went on behind the scenes, with both the non-white and female cast and crew..... it's interesting that Lost has had such a massive comeback as soon as that variety article came out. very interesting.

Fun fact about her name Calyssa (Καλλύσσα) – Comes from the greek words "kallos" (beauty) and "lyssa" (madness).

Her curse really intrigued me to mix some parts about her with Dionysus orphism especially having her route being an oracle. She can manipulate people with this madness and use it when necessary, but of course as a last resort, because she doesn't want to take advantage of people.

Many abandonment issues, many insecurities and of course... Being touch starved 😅

After the fifth time that Katsuki pops up at UA, surprising Izuku with Bento for lunch, calling him "sensei" in a cocky(affectionate) tone, Kouta just stops at Izuku's desk on his way out of the room and asks him point blank,

"So are you and DynaMight actually dating, or what?"

Izuku sputtering and dropping all of his paperwork and avoiding the question out of sheer dumbfoundedness.

Then, the sixth time that Katsuki barges in, as he is thrusting the bento into Izukus hands as usual, Kota raises his hand, and stands up from his seat and yells out,

"DynaMight, sir!! Pardon me, but are you dating Deku-Sensei??" And the whole class gasps and whispers. Katsuki appears just as dumbfounded as he looks wide-eyed at Kouta and the students.

"Kouta!" Izuku balks, but then Katsuki suddenly grins mischievously. Izuku doesn't trust that look...

"Well, brat, maybe I SHOULD date him, then I could make sure Sensei doesn't forget to eat every day, right??" Katsuki looked entirely too pleased at the louder gasps and chatter that came from the students. He has a wicked grin as he turns his sharp red eyes back to Izuku.

"K-Kacchan, what are you doing?!" Izuku stammers, beet red and grabbing his arm. "This is not the time for--"

"If you don't want me disrupting your class, then stop leaving your Bento in the fridge!!" Katsuki scolds Izuku before swinging himself back out of the open window. There was a fresh wave of gasps and excited murmuring at the insinuationthat the two lived together. "We're ROOM MATES, OK?" He adds hastily, pointing his finger at the noisy classroom of kids.

He drops out the window and blasts off.

Izuku is left, stood at his desk, hands planted and hanging his head, trying to collect enough of himself to quell the riotous theories now flying around his classroom.

Kouta stands at his own desk amidst his unruly classmates, eyes narrowed as if he had just realized something, "I knew it!" He hisses.

"You're the worst," Izuku texts Katsuki later.

"I know" katsuki replies.

"Now eat your fuckin food or I'll stop making it for you."

I don't understand people interpreting Silco's line "You're perfect" as something sweet and kind toward Jinx.

It isn't an affirmation of Jinx personhood, it's a last wish to stunt it.

As we see with Viktor (often compared to Silco.. ), perfection is stagnation. It's even akin to the death of self.

It's unnatural and wrong.

Silco has always wanted Jinx to be Jinx and never Powder, never someone else. Never someone he cannot understand nor see himself in.

When Silco said you're perfect, he asked her to never change.

I really love this. This is a hobby that I enjoy!! However, getting myself to complete flashcards? Study consistently? Especially in early stages, where it’s harder to study since you can’t really just write or read or watch anything not made for learners.

Anyway anyone out there feeling guilty for not reaching their language goals — it’s ok. It’s difficult. We can take our time.

In a sense it feels like Till has always lived in a metaphorical "fishbowl" enclosed and isolated from the world outside of it, not just physically but emotionally, because in the same way his love and memories are sealed away in a coffin, he also keeps those feelings and keepsakes in their own little space where they can float around and stay untouched by the world, guarded. His life started in a cage with Io, just a different kind of fishbowl where they were trapped and could only see the world inside looking out, but they were happy. Till was happy to have his passion for music and the love of his provider in that fishbowl, the same can be said for when he's living in Anakt garden, he was trapped in an idealized environment with entities on the outside looking in where he could only touch the true outside world from a distance, but his most treasured memories belong to that fishbowl, you get used to it after a while and you fear leaving it alongside the comfort of your memories and the other fish alongside you, I think that's why Till dreams big, is inspired by the outside world, but doesn't leave the fishbowl as much as he asserts he doesn't want to be 'restricted' as backwards as it is he can't leave it all behind when all that he loves and all that's familiar is there in that fishbowl
