Simple cleansing ritual🌿✨
Tumblr media
(GIF is not mine!!)
Performing a cleansing ritual can help keep the energy in your space vibrant and positive, supporting your well-being and magical practice. Here are some of the cleansing rituals that I carry out if I feel stagnant or stressed, after illness or conflict, and generally during changes of season or moon phase. Let me know what you do to cleanse your space and if there’s anything else I should know!☺️
Tumblr media
What you will need:
• Essential oils (such as lavender, rosemary, or eucalyptus)
• A bowl of water
• Salt (sea salt or table salt)
• A bell or singing bowl (optional)
• An incense stick or diffuser with essential oils (optional)
Steps:
1. Prepare the Space: Open windows and doors to allow negative energy to leave your space.
2. Create a Cleansing Solution: Add a few drops of your chosen essential oil to the bowl of water and mix in a pinch of salt. The salt is for purification, and the essential oils provide cleansing properties and a pleasant aroma.
3. Sprinkle Water: Dip your fingers into the cleansing solution and lightly sprinkle the water around the room, focusing on corners, closets, and doorways where stagnant energy can accumulate. As you do this, say, “I cleanse this space of all negative energy.”
Sound Cleansing (Optional): Ring a bell or play a singing bowl in each room to break up any negative energy. Sound can be a powerful way to cleanse and elevate the energy in a space.
Diffuse Essential Oils (Optional): If you have an essential oil diffuser or incense, you can light it or turn it on to fill the space with a refreshing and cleansing aroma. Choose scents known for their cleansing properties, like lavender or eucalyptus.
Visualize: As you move through the space, visualize a bright white or golden light filling and protecting each area. Imagine this light driving out any negativity and leaving the space feeling clean and refreshed.
Happy cleansing! 🌿✨🔮

Happy valentines and all that
Let’s talk consent in love spells.
It’s fine to want a romantic partner. It’s normal to fancy someone in particular. What’s not okay is trying to take away that person’s free will and force them into a relationship with you.
If someone forces another person into a romantic relationship by mundane means, they are (rightly so) considered a monster. Yet when someone attempts the same thing by magical means its….different?
*its really not*
There are love spells you can cast that don’t affect someone’s free will! Try one of these:
Spell to cross paths with a kindred spirit
Spell to make yourself more visible to prospective partners
Spell to open your heart to love
Feel free to add to this list!

1. What is a woman?
Deep dive into my perspective on gender identity ideology (GII) & my response to an anon regarding "autogynephilia"
Argument for Using "Cis-Identifying"
Pitch: New Terminology to Replace "[Biological] Sex"
And related: A conversation with a "NERF" about radical feminism, gender identity ideology, and what we/I actually believe.
2. Inform yourself on some of the work I've done for trans people before you continue the trend of cowardly hypocrisy.
3. My thread responding to the way much of the tumblr trans community handled my sharing my story of surviving the 2016 Pulse Nightclub shooting (often by stealing my lived trauma and removing my url) is easily one of the most - if not the most - important posts pertaining to trans discourse I've made to date, and Tumblr won't let me pin it. Of course. So here it is. And a bonus: This lovely ask.
4. Hope for Women (this is a very new project, WIP)
5. Comparative Analysis of Cult-like Patterns in Gender Identity Ideology, Radfeminism
Another post (not mine) listing indicators something may be a cult
6. Response to an anon asking why radfems team up with conservatives (spoiler: we don't), including THE QUESTION I have about gender identity ideology that would make me change my views completely if answered; response to a similar anon simplifying the differences between TRA, radfem, & conservative views on gender.
About Me:
I am a butch lesbian, married to a badass gnc (but not butch) radfem lesbian goddess whose misandry surpasses even my own; she does have tumblr but rarely uses it - @psychichologramnightmare is hers. I'm 27/Taurus/May baby, though I'll be real, I've never liked astrology and found my birth chart n whatnot always laughably wildly inaccurate to me (sorry astrology girlies). Former competitive rock climber, still in love with hiking and climbing. Wilderness survivalist. Trained & armed woman, advocate for female-only firearm ownership.
My wife and I run our own business, and bought our first home together at 24 & 25 respectively - it's a lovely 4/3 on a quarter acre where we have 5 mango trees and more, plan to start growing our own food and herbs, foster kittens, and provide free housing (and more) regularly for those in need. We do a LOT of IRL feminist action/work/organizing. I post about some of that work pretty often, but I couldn't possibly post about all of it (even if it were safe to do so). I am basically organizing (mostly offline, but some online as well) full-time now.
Survivor of abuse, CSA + captivity, trafficking in my teens where I was forced into porn as a minor, the Pulse Nightclub shooting in Orlando 2016, and more. I am no longer affected by any of these in any negative psychological manner. I own my past, every moment of it, and wouldn't change a thing I've experienced. What I often tell people is, "I'm not glad it happened; I'm glad I was there."
I got my Bachelor's in Neuroscience/Neuropsych, used to work in a top neuro research lab, and have been a coauthor on a peer-reviewed scientific journal publication. I wrote my undergraduate thesis on POTS, ADHD, some of the relevant epigenetics, and norepinephrine dysregulation. I was diagnosed with Ehlers-Danlos & POTS in 2015, before pretty much anyone had heard of them (including most doctors). My POTS is very well-managed now, but chronic pain from EDS is more of a struggle. I recently went for testing for EDS subtype and was diagnosed with Type IV/vascular-type EDS (VEDS).
I practice "witchcraft" (kind of...) as a form of artistic expression. I don't subscribe to any literal metaphysical/supernatural/whatever set of beliefs or narrative, and have had a lifelong inability to believe in such things, but I am passionate about lesbian-centered/lesbian-exclusive (esp butch & gnc lesbian) witchcraft. I am also using this practice in part to connect further with my ancestors and their culture & way of life, but this would take a full essay to elaborate on/explain.
Adoptee with complex history. Working through a lot of feelings surrounding my ancestry - one birth parent was white, other was almost entirely indigenous Mexican (Nahua), and I have like zero personality traits in common with the former but have only been able to meet them irl not the other side - and the fact that my adoptive family (white) has not always handled things well in raising adopted kids. I only learned my full biological family history as an adult and was lied to by them about it my whole life. Which, looking back it feels like I always knew on some level, as adoptees often seem to, and it puts a lot of my childhood difficulties etc in context. Adoption-critical but not abolitionist - I plan to adopt with my wife in a couple years. I've talked a fair bit about my experiences, adoption trauma, ethical adoption, and more. Check out my tags such as #ethical adoption, #adopted, #adoptee, and so forth (tagged on this post for easy accessibility).
I spent many years surrounded by majority-trans-identifying friends/acquaintances both irl and online, deeply involved in trans spaces & activism, and even identified for a bit & was on T for a while. I am not "uneducated" or unfamiliar with trans-identifying people, their experiences, or gender identity ideology in general. You, like me back then, very probably have been lied to about radfems ("terfs") and what we believe and fight for. I am happy to talk in good faith (provided you do the same) 1 on 1 with anyone who is curious about what we actually believe and what we stand for, what common radfem takes on gender identity ideology & trans identity actually are and why.
I have a history of purely physical sex dysphoria (physical sensation like pain or itching). I got "top surgery" (elective mastectomy) due to this and other reasons: constant painful breast cysts & very large breasts (DDD even when I weighed under 100 lbs). I was not trans-identifying by the time I got this surgery (though I tried to briefly identify as nb/transmasc just bc I felt obligated, but hated it). I have never wanted to be a man socially and genuinely hated the very thought. I came out the womb feminist, got in trouble throughout primary school for fighting boys who tried to pull sexist bullshit, always lowkey believed in female superiority (I mean just look at our biology, lifespans, pain tolerance, the things we've done throughout history despite violent patriarchal oppression...). I spent years preparing myself. I read from & spoke to women who regretted this surgery, challenged myself at every turn, dove deep into my mind and thought processes, tried alternative treatment attempts, worked with a non-affirming therapist, made sure my past traumas were fully healed, and waited until I was in my mid-twenties so my brain was more or less fully matured. I have no regrets about it. I still have some (still purely physical sensation) dysphoria ("phantom male genitals" type of thing) at times, but have come to manage this very well. More on this here.
Formally assessed psychopath & participant in research by leading psychopathy experts (read on before jumping to conclusions). Check out this post and my #psychopathy tag (tagged on this post for easy accessibility) for info, particularly about high-EQ female psychopathy, & to find out everything you think you know about us is wrong 💕 (what you know about male psychopaths is usually right tho 💀)
Note: When it comes to politics, I strive to discuss exclusively that about which I am *uniquely knowledgeable* - by which I mean, essentially, that I (believe I) have something to contribute that is unlikely to be found on every other blog. I do not and will not make posts or reblog posts about topics I do not feel this way about. You are not entitled to know my views on every hot-button issue, and I have no intention of speaking on that which I know little about, or that I don't know enough about (through study or personal experiences) to contribute something you can't get a thousand other places.
Tag Guide (WIP):
#mine -> original posts, including ask responses
#ask -> ask responses only
#anon hate, #anon love -> should be self-explanatory. anon love does include some non-anon love for simplicity.
#catposting, #dogposting, #petposting -> images of cats, dogs, and both, respectively (not always my own)
#Wilder wives -> posts pertaining to me & my wife (last name Wilder)
#mvawg, #mvaw, #male violence -> male violence against women/girls
#what we believe -> fairly new tag for posts trying to educate on what radfeminism is actually about/damage control for disinformation & misinformation about it
#ethical adoption -> my takes as an adoptee on the issues within the adoption industry & how adoption can be done ethically
#nahua, #nahuatl, #mexica -> ranges from personal journal style posts about my process of reconnecting with the Nahua community to sharing facts about the language (Nahuatl, pronounce it Nawat) and stories from Mexica mythology etc. posts I make specifically as part of the facts-and-stories series are tagged #indigenous reconstructionism.
#trans violence -> violence committed by trans-identifying people, including threats of and graphic violent fantasies (primarily misogynistic ones)
#trans misogyny, #trans lesbophobia, #woke misogyny, #woke homophobia, #woke lesbophobia, etc. -> what it says on the tin

Morals and Ethics
Tumblr media
Hello Friends!! to preface: This post is not here to police anyone on what is the 'correct' way to practice. My aim on this post is to be culturally and magically informed, so this isnt going to be a take down of any belief or path line. Instead this post is offered up as a way to not only build your own moral frame work, but get you thinking about where you stand magically and enhance how you practice! Our moral frameworks are all unique, something that would be a faux pas in your practice might be something thats culturally common in others, so lets throw on our thinking caps and get started!
What is building an ethical and moral framework?
Building an ethical background in witchcraft involves establishing a set of principles, values, and guidelines that guide your magical and spiritual practices! In essence It helps ensure that your actions align with your moral compass (Wherever it may lie). This background can help you make informed decisions, cultivate energy, and maintain a respectful and balanced relationship with both you and your magic.
Some religions and paths have their own moral and ethical framework, for example lyma is this idea of "something to be washed away" and is a big deal when practicing within Hellenic Spaces! It would be immoral to approach an altar without washing your hands if they were dirty, but on the flip side some cultures actively encourage dirty hands like people who worship earth within their gardens. Depending on your path you might have a specific framework.
Another aspect is moral frameworks change and that is ok!! Its important we aren't stagnate and its ok to change your mind and feel like you want to change things up. That is totally reasonable and people do it all the time like with politics, religious affiliations, jobs, and more! Ethical and Moral compasses can change just like we do.
How to build an ethical framework
Self-Reflection: Start by exploring your own values, beliefs, and moral code. Reflect on what is important to you, what you stand for, and how these values relate to your magical practices. Also now would be the time to decolonize your beliefs and explore your biases. Its ok to acknowledge your bias, as long as you are working through it. If you dont know what decolonizing your beliefs is I left a helpful video above, just click 'decolonize your beliefs'
Research and Study: Deep dive into different ethical systems and philosophies. Familiarize yourself with various witchcraft traditions, such as New age spirituality, Pagan magical systems, and country/area specific + their associated ethical guidelines. Read books and articles about ethics in witchcraft whether you agree or disagree. During this time you are simply collecting as many perspectives as possible and comparing them to how you feel, don't feel pressured to follow something if you don't feel it applies to you.
Connect with a Mentor or Community: If possible, seek guidance from an experienced witch or spiritual space who can share their ethical insights and offer advice on building your own ethical framework. The best part is, different spaces will produce their own ethical codes of conduct. For example some spaces don't allow love spell discussion for example, which is an ethical guideline.
Create Your Own Code: Based on your self-reflection, research, and guidance, create your own personal code of ethics. This code should reflect your values and guide your magical practices. It might include principles like harm none, respect nature, work for the greater good, or take no shit. Wherever you feel you sit, walk with it. Whatever comes natural to you explore it. Write down what you believe as a symbol, but do so in pencil so you can change it as needed!
Regularly Reevaluate: As you gain experience and your understanding of ethics evolves, revisit and update your ethical code. It's important to grow as your spiritual journey progresses like I mentioned above. You are not a static person, allow yourself to experience your moral compass and how to bends. Allow yourself to be fluid and honest. Not everyone is 'love and light' or 'fuck authority' your allowed to be who you need to be!
Different Types of Ethics in Witchcraft:
Note: This is not every type of ethics, but rather a couple examples of the ethics you may see in your research and which group it belongs too. This area is not meant to endorse or critique an ethical guideline but instead showcase the many that do exist.
The Wiccan Rede: "An it harm none, do what ye will." This is a central ethical guideline in Wicca, emphasizing the avoidance of harm to others as a core principle. Another one is The Threefold Law, this law suggests that the energy you send out, whether positive or negative, will return to you threefold (three times what you sent out). This encourages practitioners to be mindful of their actions.
Green Witch Ethics: Green witches emphasize their connection to nature and the importance of nurturing and protecting the environment. Their ethical background often centers around conservation, sustainability, and working with the Earth's energies respectfully.
Personal Responsibility: Some witches adhere to a more individualistic code of ethics, focusing on personal responsibility and accountability for their actions.
Balancing Left hand and Right hand: For some, ethical considerations involve finding a balance between Right and Left hand magic, and acknowledging the potential consequences of working with both, one, or neither. The right and left hand path are types of magical systems that involve different attitudes towards magic, the right hand emphasizing healing and selflessness, and the left hand emphasizing individuality and shadow aspects.
Respect for Spirits and Deities: Many witches emphasize the importance of showing respect and gratitude to the spirits, deities, and entities they work with, recognizing their agency and autonomy.
Are there any absolutes that I should be aware of?
Absolutes are ethical things that you do need to make sure you are integrating! These are really important things to note when you are learning, because if you do choose to disregard these you could contribute to some really bad concepts that intrinsically cause harm to real people
Respect - Cultural awareness, avoiding appropriation, and looking out for other people can be important. Its important that you fully evaluate a moral system before indulging in it. For example: In the love spell discussion and lot of cultural practioners voices are left out of the discussion, same with baneful discussions. Its important to listen to many groups of people and take stances that dont turn peoples cultures into a monolith, demonize them, or silence them.
Hate groups and cults - Its important that you check where a belief comes from and see if it matches with any hate groups or cult rhetoric. These groups create really flashy and easy to digest claims to try and push an agenda kind of like a salesmen. Their whole job is to try and push you into their group so they can get money, power, fame, and in some cases carry out atrocities. This corresponds with that decolonization conversation from earlier, because it can help keep you and other witchy friends safe!
Nuance - Its important to keep nuance in the conversation. Don't take extremely black and white stances if you aren't knowledgeable on the subject. I think even advanced practioners need to remember to keep nuance in their opinions and keep an open mind when presented with new information or moral ideals. Keep an open dialogue when you are having conversations, and remember to keep asking yourself why you believe the things you do.
Remember that there is no one-size-fits-all approach to building an ethical background in witchcraft. Your ethical code should be a reflection of your personal beliefs and values. It's essential to be true to yourself and to strive for a harmonious practice that aligns with your own spiritual journey! Enjoy the ride :)

✨🧹Ethical Witchcraft🧹✨
Hello darlings 🥰
Today, let's talk about a very important topic in the world of witchcraft: the ethics of magick and spellwork 🕯️✨
Tumblr media
As practitioners, it's our responsibility to be mindful of the intentions we set and the energy we put out into the world. Here are some ethical considerations you may want to keep in mind:
🕯️Harm none: This is a big one in the witchy community, and has additionally been incorporated into many practices and religions including Wicca as the ‘Wiccan Rede.’ Universally, this calls for never harming others intentionally through our magick and spellwork.
🕯️Consent: Always get the consent of others before performing any magick or spellwork that involves them. This includes love spells or any spell that may affect someone else's life.
🕯️Responsibility: We must take responsibility for the consequences of our actions. If a spell goes wrong or has unintended consequences, it's our responsibility to make it right.
🕯️Respect for nature: Many witches believe in the power of nature and its role in magick. It's important to respect the natural world and use our magick in a way that doesn't harm it.
🕯️Self-care: Practicing magick can be emotionally and energetically draining. It's important to take care of ourselves and our own energy before and after any spellwork.
Remember, the intention behind our magick is just as important as the spell itself. Let's strive to be responsible and ethical witches, spreading positivity and healing wherever we go.
(Harm None Edited)

The divine Order of Humanity is a religion that celebrates and respects all lifeforms.
We firmly believe that the needs of the many outweigh the needs or wants of the few or one.
This is not a religion that seeks to put itself above any other. Nor shall the order proselytize or try to convince others that they must join.
Tumblr media
Complex logo design showing the earth, sun, and moon, revolving around around several colors, with magenta, yellow, and cyan in the centre.
Tumblr media
Simplified logo with three circles to represent the earth, sun, and moon.
The order has an open and standing invitation to anyone who wishes to learn more or visit a meeting.
Members are encouraged to help others if they are able to do so, with kindness and respect to their fellow humans.
There are no requirements or stipulations to receiving aid. Everyone, regardless of their circumstances, is entitled to partake in the equal sharing of resources and services.
Human Rights are a pinnacle of our beliefs. As resources and means to do so exist, every person is entitled to housing, healthcare, food/drink, transportation, and education. All of the highest quality as allowed by available resources and labor.
The second pinnacle is pacifism. War is a practice that is in direct opposition to the order of humanity. It is an immature and barbaric practice that is largely used to conquer and subjugate other populations.
Conflict should be settled peacefully, and all parties should come to an understanding that benefits all.
On individual basis, a person is perfectly within their rights to use violence as a last resort in self defense. However, this is explicitly on the basis of interpersonal conflict and should never be broadly applied to any group or population. Individuals are encouraged to seek non-violent means of coming to a fair and equal resolution.
All workers own their own labor. It is their bodies that do the work and thus they are the ones who decide for their individual selves the rules of their work. No person shall be held in a job that harms them or distresses them.
Bodily and mental autonomy is a human right. From birth, all humans are their own person with their own thoughts and feelings. They are entitled to live a life free from coercion, manipulation, violence, and suffering.
Every person has the right to do as they please, so long as they do not harm anyone else.
Likewise, slavery or indentured servitude is considered an act of violence and in violation to the bodily autonomy of the person.
No one person is above or below another. All people are in equal standing. Respect for for your fellow humans is a must.
Children should be highly revered and taken care of. They should be free to pursue all manner of happiness.
Education is important, but learning should not be forced. Forced learning usually leads to lack of interest and ultimately that knowledge is lost.
Instead a love of learning should ideally come naturally, and the methods of learning should be equally natural. Practical skills should be taught in equal measure to maths, language, and history.
Disability likewise should not be a barrier to life and learning. The disabled are to be treated as equitable and equal as any abled person.
Accessibility should be a contributing factor in the design of infrastructure so as to best accommodate people across the abled spectrum.
There is not one particular deity that is required of this religion. Atheists are welcome and encouraged to feel at home here. Moreover, all people are welcome to bring their heritage, culture, and religious beliefs.
Diet is highly subjective and culturally diverse. There are no dietary restrictions, so long as the food and drink was created and harvested sustainably and with respect to the resources of the earth.
Animals share this planet with humans in equal measures and deserve the same respect.
Animals that are to become food should be given the best quality of life, and allowed to live that life for as long as possible.
For animals that are commonly eaten, they should be killed quickly and humanely, without pain and with great reverence to their sacrifice.
No part of an animal shall go to waste. Meat, bones, skin, and more shall be used for as many applications as possible. Anything that cannot be used should be respectfully buried or burned to ash.
It should be understood that all life is sacred and we all live in the great cycle of life and death.
No life should be taken for granted.
Plants likewise are living beings too, and should be treated with respect. Proper care should be taken in cultivating a rich wealth of diversity in nature, and that diversity should be maintained and carefully tended to ensure that the natural ecosystems of earth can thrive.
In respect to our planet, garbage should be maintained to a minimum. Items should be made to last as long as possible, and disposables should either be easily recyclable or compostable, if they are not reusable. Plastics, likewise, should be kept as minimal as is safely possible.
It is understood that it may not be possible for every single person to apply every single aspect of the above to their lives. But it is requested that people try their best to meet these standards as much as is safe to do so.
Treating one another, and our planet, with kindness and respect is something all people should strive for.
Moreover,
The Divine Order of Humanity recognizes that the cycles of life and death are not stagnant nor linear.
Change is part of this cycle and no two cycles are ever alike.
Order members are encouraged to be mindful that there is little in this world that is predictable.
Please take care to prepare for the unexpected, and embrace whatever comes with love and respect.

Today and the last few days, I've been working on harvesting and pressing some foliage and flowers. I really love these yellow flowers, which I believe are black-eyed susans. I took stuff with me on my walk today to pick up some trash at the shoreline of the lake, brought along some offering, and tools to harvest and store stuff until I got home. When I saw these two flowers were being used, they both became out of bounds for harvest, so I left them.
I think it's important for folks who maybe only forage for their craft or for making things and who are more casual about it to learn some basic tenants of wildcrafting your Craft/craft.
I've sorta been building my own rules for what materials are acceptable to bring home when I'm out and about on walks or whatever.
1: If possible, don't harvest or collect something the first day you see it.
This rule is in place for me as a reminder that I'm not the animal who gets first dibs on what I see in nature. My impact is much much bigger than any other animal who would use it if I leave it, so i try to leave it for at least 24 hours, if not longer.
2: Half at most, around 1/3 or less is best.
If I'm going to be harvesting to make something, I try to let it be a long-term project so that I can take as little as possible at one time. Out of a dozen flowers, I'd take 6 at most, but probably 3 or 4 from the one place I found them. If I'm walking and find another plant that has 8 of the flowers, at most I'll have 1 or 2 go home with me.
Again, as a human, my impact is bigger, and also, I'm not as reliant on these resources for survival as our bug friends are or the local wildlife. I'm making a tool or an art project, my life isn't depending on the thing being done like their lives depend on these things being available to them.
3: Acknowledge what you're doing (ask, offering, etc).
Ultimately, I'm taking something from its natural habitat, and maybe even snipping it off something, I always try to acknowledge what I'm doing. If I can give something beneficial, I will. However, just that moment of mindfulness allows me to at least maintain a healthier relationship with the world me.
These all come back to acknowledging my place within the world around me as I forage, I'm not viewing the world as something I can harvest from without a direct impact to the wildlife and ecosystem.
I even do this for rocks or abandoned shells on the shoreline. Because I'm sure nature could use the shells I've harvested in some beneficial way, even if just a pitstop for a bug, I acknowledge that.
Granted, there's more happening behind the scenes too. I've walked this path to the shoreline in the neighborhood almost daily since June 1st of this year (I can count on one hand how many times I've not walked/not seen the shoreline). I've talked to the spirits that inhabit the little bits I forage from, and blah blah blah. But, even if the spirits of place and nature spirits aren't a part of your practice, still consider the physical repercussions on the ecosystem when you forage for items for witchcraft purposes or just crafting purposes.

Started moving away from jar spells. As nice as they were at the beginning of my practice I find they get “stale” a lot more quickly and honestly? Just clutter your space and seem like a waste after awhile especially if you cannot properly dispose of and get rid of ingredients in a way that benefits the environment.

Unlocking the Mysteries: Divination for Beginner Witches🔮✨🖤
Tumblr media
(GIF not mine!!)
Divination is the practice of seeking knowledge of the future or the unknown through various methods. It’s a way of connecting with your inner wisdom, the universe, or spiritual forces to gain insight and guidance. While some see it as predicting the future, many view it as a tool for introspection and understanding the present.
Why Do We Practice Divination?
Gain Clarity: Divination helps clarify confusing or difficult situations, providing insights that may not be immediately obvious.
Make Decisions: It can assist in making informed decisions by highlighting potential outcomes and factors to consider.
Connect Spiritually: It fosters a deeper connection with your intuition, spiritual guides, or higher self.
Self-Discovery: Divination often reveals inner thoughts and feelings, aiding in personal growth and self-awareness.
Prepare for the Future: While it doesn’t predict the future in absolute terms, divination can highlight trends and energies that might influence future events.
Popular Methods of Divination
Tarot Cards
What It Is: A deck of 78 cards, each with symbolic imagery and meanings, used to gain insights into various aspects of life.
How to Use: Shuffle the deck while focusing on your question, then draw cards and interpret their meanings based on their positions and your intuition.
Oracle Cards
What It Is: Similar to tarot, but typically with fewer cards and more flexible themes, often focusing on specific guidance or affirmations.
How to Use: Shuffle and draw cards as with tarot, focusing on the guidance you seek. The meanings are usually simpler and more direct.
Pendulum Dowsing
What It Is: A weighted object, often a crystal, suspended from a chain or string, used to answer yes/no questions based on its movements.
How to Use: Hold the pendulum steady and ask a question. Observe the direction it swings (e.g., clockwise for yes, counterclockwise for no).
Runes
What It Is: Small stones or pieces of wood inscribed with ancient symbols, each representing different energies or concepts.
How to Use: Draw runes from a bag while focusing on your question, then interpret their meanings and how they relate to your query.
Scrying
What It Is: Gazing into a reflective surface like a crystal ball, mirror, or bowl of water to receive visions or impressions.
How to Use: Sit quietly and gaze into the surface, letting your mind relax and observe any images, shapes, or messages that appear.
Tea Leaf Reading (Tasseography)
What It Is: Interpreting the patterns left by tea leaves in a cup to gain insights.
How to Use: Drink a cup of loose-leaf tea, leaving a small amount of liquid and leaves. Swirl the cup, then look at the patterns formed by the leaves and interpret their meanings.
How to Carry Out Divination Safely
1. Create a sacred space
Prepare Your Area: Ensure your divination space is quiet, clean, and free from distractions. Light a candle or some incense to set a calming atmosphere.
Protective Circle: Consider casting a protective circle or saying a protective prayer to safeguard your energy.
2. Set a Clear Intention
Focus Your Mind: Be clear about what you want to know or explore. State your intention or question aloud or silently before you begin.
3. Ground and Center Yourself
Stay Balanced: Take a few deep breaths, visualize roots growing from your feet into the earth, and feel grounded and centered.
4. Respect the Process
Be Open and Respectful: Approach divination with an open mind and respect for the process. Avoid trying to force specific answers.
5. Interpreting Responsibly
Use Intuition and Logic: Interpret messages using both your intuition and logical thinking. Remember that divination often highlights potentialities, not certainties.
Avoid Scary Predictions: Refrain from making alarming or ominous predictions. Divination should empower and guide, not frighten.
6. Conclude and Close the Session
Thank and Release: Once finished, thank any spiritual guides or energies you’ve called upon. Gently say, “Thank you for your guidance. This session is now closed.”
Put Away Tools: Store your divination tools in a safe and respectful place, and cleanse them occasionally to remove residual energy.
7. Ground Again
Rebalance Your Energy: After the session, ground yourself again by eating a small snack or holding a grounding stone like hematite.
8. Journal Your Insights
Record Your Experience: Write down your question, the divination method used, and the insights gained. This helps track patterns and deepen your understanding over time.
Final Thoughts
Divination is a wonderful practice that can enrich your witchcraft journey and provide valuable insights into your life and the world around you. As you explore different methods, you’ll discover what resonates with you the most and develop your unique approach to seeking wisdom and guidance.
Happy divining! 🌙✨🔮
