Ozma right now: 🐥🐥🐥🐥🐥
This is based largely on my own relationship with dresses and the mirror when I was Ozma's age, but I'm perhaps channeling a bit of the spirit of Edward Einhorn's short story, "Ozma Sees Herself", found in Oz Story Magazine #3.
As part of my quest for quasi-historical accuracy, I decided it was okay to give Salye Soforth some anachronistic 70's punk fashion after researching the history of safety pins to make sure they existed in 1904. Also, she's drinking a brand of root beer that no longer exists. I did enough research to make sure I didn't use the logo from the 1960s or 2000s, though I'm not 100% sure it was available in ready-to-drink bottles by then (they only sold it as extract and syrup early on).

20th Book I Read in 2024
Title: Gender Euphoria
Authors: Laura Kate Dale & Various Others
Notes: Bought this almost a year ago and I'm so so so happy I finally read it, loved this book through and through! Almost cried during parts of it. A very good mix of writings about transfem, transmasc, nonbinary and intersex experiences.

I finished Gender Euphoria by Laura Kate Dale. Highly recommend it to:
People who are considering transitioning This does a good job showing what being trans is like from a wide variety of perspectives. And why they chose to transition and the joy that it brought. While it is pretty positive, it's very realistic. Also the authors are really honest about their experiences pre-transition that you may relate to
Trans people in a bad headspace Whether you're down bc of discrimination, dysphoria, etc. I think will likely find one story of someone in a similar position and will help you see the light at the end of the tunnel.
Cis people I've read some books with bad representation which are widely popular among cis people interested in trans or intersex people (looking at you Middlesex) so here's a book that trans person approved. And this book gives a wide range of perspectives.
