I feel like a lot of spider-man media doesn’t dive into the vigilante part of being spider-man enough.
I feel as though every spider-person should dislike the police, even by a very small amount. Spider-man is a vigilante at the end of the day, and the cops aren’t exactly well known for accepting vigilantes with open arms.
I refuse to believe that Spider-man goes out every day, stops crime in New York, and isn’t exposed to dirty cops, cops that are assholes, cops that have heavy bias, cops that abuse their power, cops that overall shouldn’t be cops.
Peter Parker puts on the mask every day and, while he acknowledges that being a white man definitely saves him from a majority of problems with cops, as spider-man, he has to deal with cops that scream and shoot, cops that are a little to aggressive when catching someone, a little too okay with letting certain people go on the basis that there wasn’t ‘enough evidence’ yet suddenly are able to buy that new car they always wanted.
Gwen Stacy’s father is a police officer, she personally knows plenty of cops and she trusts them completely in her home, but as ghost-spider, she meets cops that talk down to her despite what she does, cops that dismiss plenty of women’s fear after an attack, cops that say nasty things about their wives when they think nobody can hear them, cops that look at sex workers with far to much disgust when arresting a criminal.
Miles Morale’s father is also a cop, and he treats every officer with respect when he works with the police as spider-man, but he isn’t blind to cops that sneer at black criminals extra hard, cops that are quick to reach for their guns, cops that frown just a bit harder when they pass by black neighborhoods, cops they use ‘us’ and ‘them’ when talking.
I’m not saying that spider-man should hate cops or that every cops is bias, or takes bribes, or abuses their power, I’m just saying that so many spider-man stories forget that spider-man protects the people and that police aren’t exactly the best at treating the people they’re supposed to help calmly and humanly. Just give spider-man that tiny bit of “I refuse to let you prioritize your job over people’s lives” when dealing with shitty cops.
(Please don’t kill me over this)

i am not one of those obnoxious “he has two hands” people but i am VERY invested in spidey x cable x dp dynamics. no need to scrap over these two ships, need i remind you that spiderman and deadpool met in cable & deadpool? thats so iconic. theyre your favorite ship’s favorite ship. i’m very interested in spidey and cable dynamics.

he literally came in to fight deadpool and say he had nice thick thighs. iconic of him.

Okay I know this is not in character for them at all but it’s still really funny for me to imagine:
*Dr Doom and the Fantastic Four fighting at a science convention*
Dr Doom: We can team up! Let us join forces!
Peter Parker, 1st time at the convention:
Peter Parker: Is-
Peter Parker: Is he looking at me?
Peter Parker: I’m not a villain???

Now having watched Frankenstein (1931) I find this really interesting. I didn't really expect the writers themselves to have watched the film; I assumed they saw it was a horror film released in Pete's time and included it with the bonus that the audience would know the story because its Frankenstein. It really aligns with the themes of spider noir though, so I'm second guessing myself.
I read Frankenstein a while back so I'm not as familiar with it as I once was, but I'd say its generous to say the movie is based off of the original novel. It hits some of the points but it really is different. I mean, in the film its Henry Frankenstein, not even Victor.
In the film, the monster is played almost-infantile. He reaches out towards light as if he could grab it. He plays with a little girl by a lake, throwing in flowers to watch them float like boats. When he kills her, it's an accident. How could he have known that she wouldn't float along with the flowers? Its Frankenstein and his assistant who are portrayed as monstrous. They lock him in the dark for three days. The intimidate him with fire and whips and fists.
Despite this, its Frankenstein who gets the 'good end,' while the monster is left to burn alive, pinned inside a wooden mill set alight by the townspeople.
Pete could have gotten nightmares from a number of scenes. Although I wouldn't personally say this is a scary film, there are definitely unnerving parts. There was also a different standard in 1931 for what was scary in film, plus Pete was already living a hard life at such a young age when he saw it.
Based on the panels themselves it is clear that Pete was scared of the monster itself (which is fair, the make up and costuming wanted him to be frightening). "I expected him to tell me there's no such thing as monsters," because no one in real life is a resurrected, looming... once-man-now-creature. (Just you wait, Peter). It's a more juvenile read of the film but Pete is a kid. Ben though, is a veteran, a socialist, has been around the block. He has the sense to analyze the film and interpret it differently. It is the men who find themselves with a capacity for senseless cruelty that are the monsters. That is exactly what the noir comics are about.
I really like that it's clear that Uncle Ben knows what Peter is about to learn. It also shows how much Pete has changed, just within the 1-2 years since he'd seen Frankenstein.

It all started when you decided to lay on your bed after a long day, you had taken off your work clothes and just flopped onto the bed fully naked
Eyes closed as you stretched your arms above your head, knuckles pressing against the headboard and your back arching off the soft bedsheets
Didn’t take long before your boyfriend trailed his large hands along your thighs, giving them a soft squeeze as you felt his hot breath against your pussy
“Baby..”
It was all you could mutter out, you were clearly too exhausted to really ask what he was up to but you had a clear idea for what he was planning
He wasted no time, pressing hot open mouthed kisses against your heated inner thighs, eyes shutting momentarily as he sucked light hickeys onto your skin
You squirmed a bit, pussy aching for attention as you easily got turned on, hands holding onto the headboard tightly
“Baby don’t- ha-haah!”
You got cut off by your own moans due to the feeling of his tongue starting to lap at your soaking cunny, his wet muscle flicking once it got to your clit
Your body tensed up a bit at first due to the sensitivity hitting you but once you got used to the feeling, your body relaxed against the bed once more
You could practically feel him smirking as his lips latched onto your clit, sucking on it gently as he looked up at you in hopes of seeing your pleasured facial expressions
One of his hands travelled from your thigh up to your breast, squeezing it firmly within his large palm as he dipped his tongue into your hole
Your eyes rolled back a bit before you fluttered your eyelids shut, toes curling a bit as you squeezed your thighs against the sides of his head
The action made him moan against your cunt as he started to eagerly tongue fuck you, his actions causing one of your hands to travel down to his hair
This was taking all of your stress away, it was blissful..
After all, he knew exactly how to please his girl

Something I love about Spider-Man as a character: even if there's no big villain to fight, he's still a hero.
On days when there's no crime at all, he's out helping someone carry their groceries or giving directions to someone who's lost. He doesn't need anything negative to fight; he's just actively trying to make the world a safer, kinder, better place. That's what makes him a hero.
