Any fossil Pokémon you’ve not reviewed yet you wanna do? Favourite or least favourite, either way

(I'll be doing the Tirtouga line because they're the only fossil 'mons I haven't reviewed yet:)

To be completely honest, I constantly forget Tirtouga exists. I think it's because it's Just A Turtle; there's no real clear theme at this stage, and there's not really anything about the design that sticks out other than the lovely gray and blue color palette.

Part of the problem is that while Tirtouga and its evo are based off of extinct giant turtles (Protostega and the massive Archelon, respectively), turtles... you know, still exist in the modern day. And because they still exist, there are a lot of other turtle and tortoise 'mons, like the Squirtle line, Torkoal, Terapagos, the Turtwig Line, etc. Sure, it's technically the only sea turtle 'mon, but that's not enough to inherently differentiate it and make it interesting.

Given the direction the evo takes, I kind of would've liked to see more emphasis on the shell; make it giant and bulky relative to the body, make it extend up over the head, etc. It's nice enough visually, but it really needs something that would make it stand out.

(Fun pointless fact: Ken Sugimori once drew an illustration for a magazine cover featuring a bunch of fake Pokemon-esq creatures, one of which (above) likely became Tirtouga later on. This is probably why it evolves from the "cover fossil". This fact is more interesting than the actual 'mon.)

Carracosta has something going for it by standing up and becoming bipedal. This isn't unheard of for either turtle 'mons (Blastoise) or fossil 'mons (Kabutops), but it instantly gives it something distinct and visually differentiates it from its pre-evo.

The other thing it has is a very unique shell design, which is segmented like ribs that stretch around the shoulders/legs and doesn't wrap over the stomach. It's likely meant to look like a bullet-proof vest, which is sort of random but it at least pretty cool looking. It strikes me as very classic Gen 1/Gen 2-ish design, despite being a Gen 5 'mon; it's something in the way it stands up and the bony yet somewhat organic shell design that does it.

My only nitpick here is that the ridges on the flippers look out-of-place, as that shape isn't shared anywhere else in the design. It feels like it needed to reuse the bulkly polygonal shapes from the front "vest" to create a pair of brass-knuckle like covers that wrap around the entire flipper. Otherwise, this one's pretty solid.

Overall, Tirtouga is too generic for its own good, but Carracosta's pretty neat and has a solid design. There could be room for regionals down the line, if you assume the line adopted to other regions before dying out originally.

“First Meeting”

More of my Swords and Bones ship (yes this is the ship name I gave to Jesmon x Craniamon. It just works so well 😩👌) but this time when they are kids! Honestly for my own stuff, I do imagine that Jes and Crania met a long time ago when they were kids back during Jes’ and Gankoo’s travel days with the Sistermons. While it would be a short time they got to known each other the two would have hit off really well, even getting Kotemon a new long term goal of becoming a Royal Knight just like his new and first friend (Also maybe to impress this cool mon a little bit if they met again in the future 👀) The two did make a promise that they would see each other again and if destiny allows it, comrades as new Royal Knights. Though it isn’t something that went exactly like that as Crania ended up as Knight earlier( he worked hard to achieve all of his evolution allowing him to evolve more earlier to his later evos than most in his evolution line) once he hit his Mega Evolution.

Another thing I wanted to share is that I LOVE the idea of back when Jesmon was an Hackmon he would collect old and disowned Royal Knight Merchandise or old books/magazines as he wasn’t able to get any new ones easily, and usually would ask Gankoo or the Sistermons if he could keep them (if not he would leave it alone but sad about it. If given the okay he would gleefully grab it and loudly proclaim he will take really good care of it). But despite that he absolutely treasured the items and always made to sure to keep them in shape, even if it means DIYing it to repair any damage done to it over time with tapes or even Bandaids. Jesmon still does this to this day of making sure all of his items are in peak form and even carefully putting them away or putting them in extra protection.

Space Station Silicon Valley is a mission-based puzzle platformer where you reanimate the corpses of dead animals (don’t worry, they’re all robots). It was developed by DMA design (makers of Lemmings, GTA and Body Harvest) and is an immense amount of fun. The game did ship with a bug that meant that you couldn’t pick up one of the collectables, but I played a version that had been patched by fans that fixes the issue.

You play as Evo, a robot that loses its body as he and his hero-for-hire partner crash into a mysterious station that’s on a course for Earth. Evo ends up as just a chip, but discovers that he can take over the bodies of deceased animal robots.

In each level, you must complete multiple objectives, usually done by killing the animals, taking over their bodies and using their various abilities to complete what you need. It all sounds horrific and disturbing when trying to explain it, but the game manages to be incredibly charming throughout this, with happy music that is played through the station speakers (which you can destroy to shut them up).

Discovering how each animal moves and how to use them is one of the main things I love about Space Station Silicon Valley. They all have different kinds of movement – some are like a typical platformer, others are like cars and some can only move when jumping – and the powers have various uses that aren’t just needed to solve the puzzles of the level, but to find all the collectables. This concept was also a large part of Super Mario Odyssey, so my like for this is probably why I loved that, too.

Each level has 15 power cells hidden in it to find, some are in plain view, others are hidden extremely well. A few of them can be quite frustrating to get to, such as some high up ones requiring using a vulture’s awful flight to get there. The game’s dreadful camera also doesn’t help matters, as you can never get a good look around and the cameral often likes looking downwards.

The other kind of collectable is a hidden trophy in each level, which is found by doing a secret objective. Sometimes these are obvious, such as the second level having a racetrack, and often killing everything will yield results, while others are very tricky, such as listing to penguins make sound and recreating it on a keyboard (being tone-deaf, I looked that one up).

Still, even with these annoying ones, it was a joy to collect everything. I’m not 100% completing every N64 game, but this one was one where I wanted to do so.

At the end of each of the four regions, you’ll encounter a level where you find a piece of Evo’s original body. These are quite different to the main gameplay, featuring different events. For example the second area ends with a Jetski-like race called Walrace 64 where you have to win a race as a robotic walrus boat.

Once all these are done, the final mission is defending Earth against invading robots, but unfortunately is probably the weakest level of the game. Still, that slight downer is just the end of a wonderful experience.

While the difficulty is more of a rollercoaster than a curve, you do get used to some of the techniques the game uses, and the wild and wacky robot animals are always an absolute joy to discover – each time you see a new one, you’re eager to kill it and give it a spin.

Space Space Station Silicon valley is a wonderful platformer and one I think more people should try out.

The important thing, though, is that you’ll keep on coming back to it until you’ve found every animal, explored every single nook and cranny, and beaten every bonus game. It’s compulsive, addictive and most important of all, it’ll have you grinning like a rabid chimp while you play.

Remake or remaster?

A remaster would be great for this. Have it adapted into widescreen, give it a new camera and fix a few things here or there. A few bonus levels would be nice, too.

so there are the usual suspects: character focused zines, zines for holidays, and secret santa

then some more casual, independent stuff like hashtags for a tournament (EVO is happening quite soon, so like say, that's something i want to draw a "good luck to the playersa" kind of art)

or for character birthdays, there's usually a tag for that too that eveyone posts under too

the more unique things i have in mind is like, a large group piece for JP's birthday, where people draw him a cat and i can copy paste them into the single image. so by the end, JP is surrounded by everyons's drawing of cats. idk, i hope this is something that anyone can reasonably join in on, even if someone thinks they dont "draw" yknow?

more specific idea for zines, would be to make it like.. and actual magazine

put in a fashion photo shoot, interviews, and articles about JP, make it seem like it was purchased at a Metro City bodega. merch options could include prints of "photos" taken by the paparazzi, a check with his signature for 10 thoudand Bison dollars from the Bank of Shadaloo, enamel pin of his brooch...

and ofc if anyone has more ideas, please do share! or if you even want to adopt any of these for your own projects, go right ahead!! i'd rather be a participant than a mod for anything anyway;;

Defeat the Skyline GT-R, and the Lancer Evo announced by Mitsubishi aiming to conquer the WRC. Bee-Racing, which is familiar in this magazine, has already made a 290-horsepower specification by working on the suspension and CP. Now, can BeeR Lancer Evo's ability surpass R!?

Great possibility of GT-R killer!!

Bee☆R has already light-tuned the Lancer GSR Evolution, a 4WD machine boasting high power in a lightweight body and an amazing power-to-weight ratio.

The engine is normal, but each part is balanced, the turbine is processed and installed for VR-4 even though it is the same type of TD05 and the muffler is also processed and installed for VR-4.

The fuel tuning was set with the original ROM tune, which I am good at, and I marked 12.5 seconds in the 0-400m that I attacked the other day. When I took a quick look during the test drive, I noticed that there were about 4 ROMs on the side seats, so they were doing a replacement test.

When I measured Zeroyon, the boost was 1.0kg/cm, so if I boosted it a little more, it would be easy to break into the 11-second range, and the GT-R might even be on the line. However, since this car was made for rallying, the crossed gear ratios made it so busy that even a zeroyon would go into 5th gear!

Considering this shift, winding etc.

may be more advantageous.

The suspension is a Bee☆R original suspension kit with image brake pads, which is nice. The vehicle height is kept low, and cornering is good. I heard that the Lancer has a lot of understeer due to the 4WD, but it was barely noticeable. Ride comfort is not rugged and roll is suppressed.

As the car is light, the footwork is good, so it is more fun to ride than the GTR.

Changed the mission & differential that was shaken to the medium and low speed side

Well, if you raise the power a little more, it's true

I think it will be an interesting car. Car charm is value

The most fun is when you get on, not on the steps!!

Bee☆R, which has become a familiar name in HA, has completely changed its model after moving to Yokohama. The factory is spacious and well-organized, making tuning and maintenance possible at any time.

The computer's original ROM setting has been well-received for a long time, but the range of compatible models has been expanded, and now it covers many machines such as Toyota, Mazda, and Mitsubishi in addition to Nissan vehicles.

As for the undercarriage, they have a lot of know-how and will surely give you a satisfactory setting. President Imai himself is a racer who participated in the freshman race at Fuji Speedway, so I can trust his data.

Bee☆R's motto is to make fun cars and enjoy driving them!! That's why we never look at cars that don't interest us or customers who don't get along!! Secondly, I want to say that I will take care of every car I work on.

Rather than doing anything as long as you have the money, you can say that he has the spirit of a craftsman who thoroughly does what he likes.

It sounds like a grumpy store when you write it like this, but when you actually go there, all the staff are friendly and the atmosphere is really bright!!!! If you explain it properly, I'm sure it will live up to your expectations!!!

Josef was born in a Danish-German family with his Mother being Danish and his father being German. Throughout his childhood, he would suffer from Severe Social Anxiety. Sadly, its hard to go unnoticed when he’s the size of a mountain. Josef was bullied throughout his childhood, Josef found acceptance only when fighting. An activity at which he excelled at. Most of the time he would get into trouble because many of his bullies either provoked him into fighting or they made the first punch. Josef would be develop to be mute as had an abusive father at the time.  Josef would take most of the beatings because he wanted to be strong for his mother. Soon these beatings would continue throughout his life until he ran away from home.

Austria

Josef would catch trains and trucks through other nations until he met himself into Austria. He gotten used to jumping place to place as he grew in the years. Though he was caught trying to get into a train heading to Germany. The Authorities would put Josef into a orphanage since they didnt know he had ran away. 

For the remainder of his life he would grew up an Orphan. He watched as some of his friends get picked for their new home while Josef stayed at the Orphanage until he was 18. Soon leaving the orphanage as an adult as he would do some jobs here and here to make cash. Though as his adulthood began it was rough as he bounced jobs trying to keep demands up. Soon this ends as he would commit homicides in Salzburg. Soon he fled the country back into Denmark and enlisted into the Royal Danish Military just before Austria was looking for him.

Jægerkorpset

When Josef was in the Danish Millitary. His Comrades would describe him as a socially distant guy as the majority of his time he always wore some sort of face mask to keep his face hidden. Though this was due to his Social Anxiety and the fact he’s trying to keep himself hidden from the Austrian authorities. Though when Josef was apart of some Long distance training group. He would be the only one of his squad to finish with ease and swiftly. Soon Received exceptional marks in Long Range Surveillance training. With these Marks Jægerkorpset took him into selection as many others were trying to get into the JGK/Jægerkorpset. Josef would pass the selection with flying colors as he wasn’t alone as another Operator would accompany him. Her name was Nøkk.

Nøkk and Josef would connect like wildfire as reports shown that majority of Josef’s time on and off duty was with Nøkk. The two would go on missions as Nøkk would be on the ground as Josef would be from the back covering Nøkk as her sniper. Though everything would change on “Operation Anaconda."

Operation Anaconda.

Once Josef and Nøkk was in Afganistan against the Taliban. Josef would would be in a village scouting it out until group of armed Taliban would attack Josef and his squad. Josef would take out the Taliban one by one. Though through the crossfire. 5 civilians would be kiled in the fight. Other JGK would accuse Josef and try to take him into custody.  Though Josef knew of this would escape and fled to Eastern Europe try to flee from the Austrian authorities and the JGK.

From Wanted War criminal to Team Rainbow

During his time in Eastern Europe, He was labled as a War Criminal from NATO since the Operation Anaconda.  Nøkk joined Team Rainbow and was tasked to Apprehend Josef. Though Nøkk would have a secret conversation with Harry. Trying to convince Harry to allow Josef to Join Team Rainbow.  Since she was the only person in the world that could track Josef down. Soon Josef would be tracked down by Nøkk and with some tough negotiations. Josef would serve his time in Team Rainbow until his Trial comes on to discuss his future within Team Rainbow.

𝐏𝐬𝐲𝐜𝐡𝐨𝐥𝐨𝐠𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐥 𝐏𝐫𝐨𝐟𝐢𝐥𝐞

When they looped me in on Josef's real identity, I cracked open his secret dossier with schoolboy glee. I love a good mystery and I was not disappointed. Josef's real identity has been a problematic issue given the potential scandal should it ever be made public. Frankly, had I not known who Josef's father was, I wouldn't have noticed the family resemblance. But it smacks you in the face when you know the truth.

I wondered how Josef felt about all this and how it influenced her upbringing. Josef tried to dismiss it as one of the realities of the job, but eventually, I learned enough to start painting a portrait. Josef’s mother raised him, and the pair are close to the point of being best friends. Josef knew about his father and his family, but it took a while before the family knew about Josef. Josef’s mother tried to give Josef a better life, but without bringing him into the fold out of fear of courting a major scandal for the family. Josef is fiercely loyal to his mother, so I found it surprising Josef was only loyal to his mother out of respect for the family name itself. You'd think there'd be some resentment there, but Josef is comfortable quietly serving Queen and Country and everything else that falls under the umbrella.

TRAINING

Josef’s ability to keep a secret and maintain a façade is what makes him a highly capable undercover operative but she is involved in an active mission. Fortunately, Josef’s cover identity is currently "in jail," building up credibility while giving us an incredible opportunity to work with someone of Alibi's and Bandit's caliber. I have no doubt Josef is a strong fit for Rainbow, and I hope we can use him to the full extent of him stay with us.

Jonny has a used few Fender Super Reverb amps over the past decade. He first used a vintage early-70s silver-panel Fender Super Reverb to perform Electric Counterpoint at the 2013 Open’er Festival, but he hasn’t been seen with it otherwise so he probably rented it (rather than bring one all the way to Poland for one piece).

The first Super Reverb that Jonny has used most consistently is a vintage mid-60s black-panel Fender Super Reverb. The amp was first mentioned in Jonny’s recording notes for the backing track to Steve Reich’s Electric Counterpoint, which he shared on Vine in June 2014. He used the amp more than any other on the backing tracks. He subsequently used the amp when he played the lead part of Electric Counterpoint at the Glastonbury Festival on June, 2014, likely using the backing track he recorded earlier that month (Jonny mentioned in an interview that he re-records all the backing tracks each time he performs the piece live). Jonny also used that Super Reverb for a gig with the London Contemporary Orchestra in Oxford, so it seems he prefers to use that amp for gigs in the UK.

Jonny probably also used that mid-60s amp during the recording of A Light For Attracting Attention, since he used it for The Smile’s first tour rehearsals in December 2021. It was later seen in the background during The Smile rehearsals at RAK in January 2022.

Jonny’s current touring amp with The Smile is a '65 Reissue Super Reverb, as we explained in this post. He probably bought the amp specifically for live shows, since it’s brand new in photos from rehearsals and concerts in January 2022 — it even has the green "Jensen Equipped" tag hanging off the channel 1 volume control. That tag is found on both the ’65 Reissue on the Tone Master. But it seems very unlikely that Jonny would take the time to remove the “Tone Master” label from the amp’s grill cloth if he didn’t even bother to remove the tag. He's used that amp (probably with an identical backup) for all of The Smile's touring in 2022.
