Chapter 1: Uncomfortable
“I can’t believe we’re renovating a room to give to a boar, but here we are.” You shook your head in amusement as Mini grunted from behind shoving you slightly. “Don’t worry girl, I know you are more than just a boar!” You knelt, sharing some nuts with her as a snack.
“Kid just called, he and the guys will come by with the stuff for Mini’s room later.” Shen entered the room to inform you and was followed by her girlfriend Yin. You loved Yin’s style; she had soft purple hair that she wore in two space buns, she usually wore crop tops and mini skirts, usually in pink, and because her eyes were susceptible to light, she had to wear darkened glasses and her glasses looked more like a futuristic visor. Your second roommate, Shen, also wore crop tops but preferred baggy pants; her hair was long black and white, and she had a huge scar on the right side of her face from a robbery; that's how she met Kid and the boys and, of course, Yin.
“Are all of them coming?” You turned around to face them. You shifted nervously as you waited for the answer. The girls looked at each other and sighed.
“Well yeah. You have to get over your thing with Killer. He isn’t a scary guy, give him a chance.” Yin shrugged. Shen embraced her from behind and hummed in agreement.
“It’s not  easy to trust someone who never shows his face.” You frowned.
“Don't run away this time though, like a scared kitten.” Shen flicked your forehead. “Anyway, we really should finish up here ladies!” Everyone got back to work, cleaning out the room and finishing up the walls, even Mini helped. The left wall was quickly covered in black except for the middle where a pattern started to take shape. Mini now had her own Pirate flag on the wall because, in another world, she would be a pirate; she huffed proudly through her snout.
You were about to clean out some more when you got a text from work. “Sorry, I gotta go to work and will return in 4ish hours.” You excused yourself, quickly showered, and got ready for work.
Tumblr media
“Hey Boss, I came as fast as I could.” you were out of breath. A tall man with maroon hair handed you a cold glass of water. “Sorry for calling you in on such short notice, but both my sisters are sick. I can make all the desserts and donuts, but I need you to serve the customers.” He quickly told you on his way back to the kitchen. You immediately brought your stuff to the staff room and went behind the counter.
“The shop has been open for 2 hours. Have you been trying to do this by yourself?” You quizzed him while filling up the contents on the counter.
“I didn’t wanna call you in on your day off, but it was too much.” He sighed from behind the open kitchen window.
“Ugh Katakuri, you know I don't mind.” You answered with a laugh. Most of the working hours were uneventful, except for the last hour. Customers had been swarming the place and were standing in a queue. You always tried to look at the customers when they placed their orders. If nothing else, it's rude if you don't, but you were so swarmed with orders that you barely had time to breathe. “Hi. Welcome to Katakuri’s delicacies. What can I get you?” You asked the next in line, you didn't look up.
“Uh. Hi. 2 creme brulee, 2 chocolate pudding, 3 Vanilla pudding, and 7 Donuts of your choice. Also, I’m here to pick you up.” A deep baritone voice said nervously because he knew from the start this was the worst idea Kid and Yin had ever had. The moment you heard his voice, you froze. Did he say picking me up? Surely not?! Your thoughts were racing, but you still kept working. You didn’t even pay attention to what donut tastes you put in the bag.
T-That's 28 Dollars please.” You tried to speak confidently, but your voice betrayed you; it was barely above a whisper. Lucky for you, Killer had a superb hearing. You just couldn’t bring yourself to look at him. It was hard to focus on the last part of your shift, knowing Killer was waiting for you.
“It’s ok, you can go home if you have someone waiting for you. I can handle the rest.” Katakuri smiled at you. He caught a little off guard because you didn’t want to leave yet. You knew why your boss did that, he wanted you to find a good man, he was a bit old-fashioned.
“Thanks, Boss. I know you are just trying to play cupid though.” You smiled when his cheeks dusted with soft pink. “Big old softie you.” You huffed a laugh. Katakuri is by far the most caring boss you ever had. You went to the Staff room and got your backpack. “I’m going now. Bye.” You waved. As you left the dessert shop you saw him leaning against his Harley Davidson. The lower part of his face was covered by a medical facemask, and the upper part was covered by long, unruly bangs. Even Though his eyes were covered you could still feel his icy blue orbs piercing you as he watched you walking over to him.
“Ready to go?” He peered at you as you came close and shyly nodded in reply.  He handed you a helm and paused for a second. “Have you eaten anything? Do you want us to stop anywhere? We already ate.” Both your hands touched as he asked the question. None of you realized it at first, but after a short moment of awkward silence, you abruptly pulled your hand away.
“S-sorry.” You rubbed the back of your neck. You wanted to just disappear, this was the worst. Killer just sighed he knew this was a bad idea. “I-i will just eat some instant noodles.” You quietly said and put the helm on.
“Better hold on tight!” He said in a commanding tone as straddled his Harley. You hesitated but wrapped your arms around his waist. The ride took about 15 minutes; during this, you unconsciously nuzzled closer to him. The way his muscles felt under your touch. The truth was you were attracted to Killer, but your trust issues kept you away. As he stopped in front of your house he looked at you for a second. “Tell the others I forgot something at the restaurant and will be back in 10 minutes.” He didn't wait for a response and you went inside.
Tumblr media
“Hey, guys. Killer will be here shortly. He forgot something at the restaurant.” You took the donuts and desserts out of your backpack and placed them on the table in the middle of the room. You went upstairs to put your bag away, took a quick shower, and changed into comfy clothes.
As you went downstairs you felt your heart racing because you figured Killer would be back by now. To your surprise, though, he wasn't, which made you relax; you dropped yourself into your favorite seat: Heat's lap. The two of you had been inseparable since you first met when Yin and Shen moved in. “Get a room you two.” Kid teased.
“You know it's not like this Kid.” Heat protested with a flushed face. Heat was special to you but neither of you had romantic feelings for each other. Kid was about to tease you both some more when he saw the lights in the driveway. You and Heat sat on the floor with your backs to the door and window so you didn't know.
“So, Mouse, tell me, why are you so scared of Killer?” He sneered down at you, knowing full well that Killer heard that question as he quietly entered the room behind you.
You took a deep breath knowing full well everyone wanted to learn the answer. “I'm not scared of Killer, I never have been. I'm quite attracted to him, but his mask just makes me uncomfortable. When I was about 5 years old a masked man tried to kidnap me. He first chased me down an abandoned street next to train tracks, and he took his time because I had such small legs. When I had nowhere left to go he wanted to pick me up, but then my grandfather showed up. So no, I don't feel comfortable around him. “ You finally said it and it was quiet, when suddenly someone that wasn't Heat cleared his throat behind you and handed you a warm glass box.
“I thought maybe you wanted to eat some proper pasta so I told Thatch to prepare everything for carbonara,” Killer said quietly. You took the food and didn't know what to do; he heard everything you just said while he went out of his way to make your favorite dish.
You got up without a word, went to the kitchen door, and said a quick “Thanks” to Killer before you left the room.
Tumblr media
You sat alone in your room with your delicious pasta. Heat suddenly entered your room without knocking. “If you were trying to see my tits, you are too late buddy.” You curled up another fork full of spaghetti while Heat took his place behind you.
“And here I tried to be so sneaky.” He answered playfully. “Are you ok? You seem down.” He looked at you with worry.
You turned to face him and twirled in your pasta. “Not really down. I just feel like an absolute ass.” You stated. “Is Killer ok?”
“Hmmm. I think he was more taken aback by the fact that you are attracted to him.” Heat chuckled when he saw you trying to hide your face between your knees. You got up after you finished your pasta and placed the empty glass form on your desk.
As you went back to your bed you saw Heat’s eyes devouring you. He almost looked like a predator hunting its prey. The mattress shifted as you crawled toward him. “By the way you look at me, I’m guessing I don't need the strap on today?” You yanked his hair harshly making him wince, then you licked his cheek before finally your lips found his. He made quick work of your pajamas as well as his clothes. “Someone is in a hurry.” You giggled as he pushed you down on the mattress. His hot lips were traveling over your breasts, his tongue darted in on one of your nipples and circled it before he sucked on it and gently bit it then slowly, as he repeated the pattern on the other breast you moaned and needily grinding your pussy against his hard cock. He continued kissing his way downward to where you desired him the most. At first, he placed soft butterfly kisses on your thighs, as well as leaving little bite marks, then his fingers held open your pussy lips for him as took a long lick up to your clit, finding you were already wet. He sucked on clit and pushed one finger in as there was not much resistance he quickly added a second one, curled them up and he quickly pumped them in and out always hitting that sweet spot deep inside. At the same time, he sucked and licked at your clit and it didn't take long for you to reach your climax.
“Looks like I’m not the only one in a hurry.” Heat peered at you and then smacked your pussy. You arched your back as your body shook from another wave of pleasure while your hands took a tight hold on your sheets. “I know you are just hungry for cock you little cock whore.” Heat tried his best with the degradation, both of you were bottoms, so this part was never easy for either of you.
“Unnnng Heat just fuck me already.” You pleaded.
“Get on your knees!” Heat commanded and you obeyed. Heat grabbed you roughly by your hips and started thrusting into you. Loud erotic squelching noises could be heard as your skins slapped together. You came pretty quick but kept going harder. “Be a good girl and give me one more.” He pushed your head down on the mattress and the other found its way to your overstimulated clit. As you felt him twitch inside you it pushed you over the edge. “H-Heeaat.” He released inside you at the same time, thrusting one last time for good measure, and collapsed on top of you. He got up and came back with a damp washing cloth to clean you. “You alright?” He asked worried he went overboard.
“You are so adorable, I'm not made out of glass you know.” You giggled, pulling him in for cuddles. “So tell me how is your app coming along? Can I sign up yet?” Your eyes sparkled at him. The lights in your room were quite low but he could tell.
“Am I not enough for you?” Heat pouted and pinched your cheeks playfully. “It’s currently in Beta testing select few have access to it, but I would prefer if you would wait until it's officially out, I just don't want you to get hurt. You looked at him with your best puppy eyes.
“Heat baby. Please?” You kissed his cheek. A defeated sigh could be heard from the kind and softhearted man as you handed him your phone. He installed it and handed it back to you.
“The app is called Hidden Smile so make sure you don't delete it by accident. There are rules you should follow as well. No pictures or videos that show your face, it’s up to each chat participant when to suggest a meeting, when that happens it will send each of you to Wires dungeon as there are cameras in there. Even if you don’t meet up for sex I still suggest this option. If anyone suggests a different address, we can't protect you and you will do so at your own risk. Understood?” He looked at her seriously, he was not happy about this.
“Yes ok. I promise I will be careful!” You took his hand and then laid back on his chest. You quickly filled out your profile and uploaded a picture that wasn't too old, before you put your phone away for the night and fell asleep in Heat's arms.
As you woke up the next morning Heat was already gone, today you could finally relax so the first thing you did was check your phone and see the notification. Spaghetti Massacre has sent you a message.

Star Park AU: Kyle Broflovski Edition
-> Moved back to the Valley after graduating and getting his doctorate. (He's essentially where Harvey is in game.)
-> Couldn't find work out i the city so he moved back to the Valley
-> His parents stayed in the city but they allowed Ike to move back with Kyle as long as he agreed to take good care of him.
-> He has files on everyone's medical history and they're organized based on who's the easiest patient to deal with to who he has to literally drag in to his office. It goes: Karen, Wendy and Nichole, Kenny, Craig, Heidi, Tolkien and Scott, Butters, Ike and Jimmy, Tweek, Sharon, Shelly, Bebe, Stan, Clyde, All of the Goths, Randy, and finally Cartman.
-> He makes monthly walks to the Wizard tower to check on the Goths. They've told him before they don't need it because they have magic but he doesn't believe them.
-> Kyle and Wendy work hard to make things easier for Jimmy around town. The mayor fights them over the funding. Wendy has to practically drag Kyle away from fighting the mayor.
-> He's the only person that Scott trusts with his meds, always making sure to pick his medication up.
-> When he's not working he checks in with Heidi over Ike's education, sometimes he sits in and helps out when he can.

Heart Event @ 2:
Kyle is outside with his brother, one of the rare times he's free from working. He's sitting on the bench at the park reading through his medical files. Ike is playing by himself looking a little lonely. Farmer walks up and sees him sadly rocking on the spring rider. Ike tells the Farmer that he misses playing with his brother, it just seems like he never has time for him anymore. Farmer thinks for a moment before walking over to Kyle, who only notices them when they sit down. He greets them with a smile, quickly going back to his reading. >> Do you ever take a break? How can you be on your laptop right now? It's so nice out! (-) >> Ike looks a little sad, doesn't he? (+) If First Option: Kyle gets slightly annoyed, Farmer should know better than anyone here that he can't just stop working. He notes rather dryly he would have thought he'd be free of their lecturing, seeing as he gets enough of it from Stan.
"I appreciate your concern really, but I'm this towns only doctor last time I checked. I happen to like reading outside."
If Second Option: Kyle looks up from his laptop with concern on his face. He frowns when he realizes that he's been ignoring his brother, and how Ike is rocking back and forth with no care. Turning to the Farmer, he expresses gratitude for bringing it to his attention. He feels back for not seeing it himself, he was just hoping to catch up a little on work before he went home. He closes his laptop, putting it to the side, and stands up. Farmer jumps up with them and offers to play with him and his brother!
"Then I hope you're ready for the longest game of hide-n-seek of your life. You didn't have anything planned for the rest of the day right?"
Heart Event @ 4:
Kyle visits the Farmer early in the morning, greeting them while they're walking to the shipping bin. He apologizes for showing up unannounced. He would have called but he didn't think the Farmer would be able to hear the phone from the fields. Farmer doesn't seem to mind which makes him feel better, physically relaxing. Looking past them, he compliments their hard work on turning the fields into an actual farm. Afterwards he goes on to tell them that their crops have made things better even if they don't realize it. Tells them that the fresh food is better for the townsfolk than Jojo's food. >> I don't actually do that much farming. I'm more into fishing or mining. (/) >> Thanks Kyle! It's nice to get a little appreciation! (/) >> I didn't think of it that way...you really think of everything huh? (/) If First Option: Kyle goes quiet, the longer the silence the more his face turns red. Embarrassment dusting his cheeks. Under his breath he says something about the farm at least looking clean.
"At least your farm looks cleaner then Mr. Marsh's. Smells better too."
If Second Option: Kyle chuckles and tells them there's no reason to thank them! He's in the same boat sometimes and that even now he's here's to do his job. He wonders if anyone else has been out this way yet?
"I just realized you haven't had a checkup with me yet. Swing by the clinic okay? I don't want you to get sick."
If Third Option: Farmer turns the table on them, Kyle gets flustered over the small praise. At least he takes it as praise. He scoffs, telling them to stop being so humble. Being a Farmer is hard work and they should realize the good they do.
"Please. Not just anyone can get Cartman to eat a vegetable. You're good at what you do!"
Heart Event @ 5:
Next time Farmer walks into the clinic they walk back into Kyle's office. He's surprised to actually see them, telling them that he is pleased that he didn't have to drag them in. When Farmer looks at him confused, Kyle tells them that sometimes he has to go and "collect" some of the townsfolk for their appointments. So, it's nice that there's someone else so willing to come in. After a moment he gets a little embarrassed that he started rambling again. Farmer is just easy to talk to, they listen. Before they can comment on the blush on his face, he gets down to business. Kyle opens his laptop and looks up at them, he begins to ask Farmer about themselves, wanting an insight on their medical history.
"Sorry, you didn't come here to listen to me complain. It's just easy to talk to you. A-anyway, before I keep making an ass of myself, lets get started on filling out your medical history!"
Heart Event @ 6:
Farmer is walking from town to the mountains, they can hear faint shouting. Walking closer, they see Kyle and Ike standing next to the mountain lake away from Kenny's house. Ike is sitting on the wooden bridge with his face in his hands, looking more and more upset. When Farmer gets close enough to hear what they're saying clearly, they overhear what the argument is about. Kyle is upset that Ike's grades are slipping, telling him that he needs to put in a little more effort in school. Apparently, he's been blowing off his homework and Heidi is having a hard time getting him to pay attention in class. Ike complains that all Kyle ever talks to him about is how he's doing in school and his stupid job, that he doesn't care to ask Ike about anything else. He asks him when was the last time they did anything fun that didn't require the Farmer having to all but pull him away from work. Ike cuts Kyle off before he can rebuttal. Shouting something about how he's acting just like their mother and he's supposed to be his brother, not his parent! Kyle gets upset and snaps back at him, telling him that he won't apologize for caring about Ike's well being and he wouldn't have to act like their mother if Ike just grew up a little. This makes Ike tear up, he stands up and shouts that he should just go back to the city then. Kyle stands there watching his brother storm off, leaving him alone next to the lake, he looks destroyed. Farmer walks out from where they were hiding, and when Kyle doesn't get upset that Farmer was listening in they know he's really torn up. It takes him some time but he eventually address them, telling them that he never meant to fill the role of a parent. He knows he's hard on Ike, he just wants to see his little brother grow into the best version of himself. The Valley is good to him, better then the city was. He knows it's good for Ike too.
"Am I being that overbearing? I mean...I'm in charge of him. I promised Ma that I'd look after him! I'm not asking for much right? Just for him to apply himself more!"
>> Maybe you're not as right as you think you are. (-) >> Does he know that? Have you told him how you feel? (+) >> I don't think you're really listening to your brother. (+) >> Lighten up Kyle, he's just throwing a tantrum. He'll get over it. (-) If First Option: Kyle looks up with a flash of anger in his eyes, he can't believe what he's hearing. How could Farmer say something like that? He thought they were friends! As Kyle storms off he glares at them.
"Jesus Christ, if you talk to your friends like this then I'd hate to hear how you talk to people you hate!"
If Second Option: Kyle thinks on both Farmer and Ike's words. Like he's replaying the whole thing in his head again. When was the last time he talked to Ike about how he feels? About anything that wasn't him being a hard ass.
"No...I guess I haven't. Ugh I'm an asshole, he deserves to be a kid. I really do sound like our mom. Thanks for listening again Farmer."
If Third Option: Kyle's brows furrow, he wants to be upset but Farmer's right. He makes his frustration known and somehow in the same breath is grateful that Farmer said it. He tells Farmer that this isn't the first time their stubborn attitudes have clashed. Something they both get from their Mother.
"I think if you were anyone else I would be furious but...you're right. It does make me feel a little better to know I'm not the only one who's stubborn. I'll apologize to him in the morning. Goodnight and thank you Farmer."
If Fourth Option: Kyle snaps as that comment strikes a nerve. He goes to yell again but he just stops, closes his eyes, and takes a deep breath. When he opens his eyes he looks past them and wishes them a good night. Leaving them alone because just the thought of responding to that is exhausting.
Heart Event @ 8:
It's late, later than Farmer realized. As they go to leave the mines, a group of Shadow beasts corner them. It cuts to them limping out of the mines. Beaten down and exhausted, they collapse against the side of the mountain. The last thing they see is Kyle running over to them and the dim light of a flashlight. When they wake up again, they're laying in one of the beds of Kyle's clinic. Their wounds are bandaged and cleaned. Looking over in a daze, Kyle's eyes meet theirs and there's a look of relief. He closes the first aid kid sitting next to them, picks up the medical tools and puts them away. Farmer can hear him breathing deeply, like this is the first time he's able to. Eventually he breaks the silence, speaking as softly as he can. He scolds them for being reckless, and that they're lucky that Ned was nearby to hear that fight. Kyle stops in the middle of his lecture, catching himself doing it again. Lectures are the last thing Farmer needs right now, they need sleep. Farmer just smiles and shakes their head at him and it almost makes Kyle laugh. He can't believe the energy they have, how they're even awake right now. He promises to keep them company, that he'll be right here for them when they wake up. Time passes again as Farmer drifts back to sleep, when they wake up again they see Kyle asleep in the chair next to them.
"Do you have any idea how worried I was?! Seeing you bleeding out in the dirt like that! I know you can be more responsible then that, what were you-.... no I'm doing it again. I'm sorry. Look just get some sleep, you need to rest." - "What? I'm not going anywhere, someone has to look over you and make sure you actually get rest. I swear I'll turn my back and you'll try and get out of that bed."
When given the bouquet:
"!! Y-You're not fucking with me right? This isn't just some cruel prank? ...Then of course I will- be your partner that is!"
Heart Event @ 10:
Farmer walks outside of their house to Kyle sitting on their porch. A picnic basket sitting next to him, a bottle of wine sticking out of the basket, and a red-checkered blanket tucked neatly inside. When he hears the doo open he perks up and stands up quickly. With a grin on his face, he greets them with an energetic good morning. He holds up the basket telling them that he wants to take them out. The day is beautiful and he intends to spend as much of it with them. Farmer agrees, leaving the farm going south past Tegridy Farms. Kyle takes them near the cliffs overlooking the ocean. The two sit there enjoying the picnic that Kyle's put together. When he sees how happy Farmer is with the food, he goes on to tell them that he learned how to cook from his Mother. The conversation leads him to ramble about how he was the only one who could cook in the friend group for a while. That Stan used to beg him to make dinner so he didn't have to eat with his family. Farmer continues to just look happy with everything. Good food and getting to listen to him talk about his best friend, watching as he lights up! Then they feel a rain drop hit their forehead. Looking up, the two se as the sky starts to darken and rain clouds begin to roll in. Immediately Kyle throws his jacket over the Farmer and urgently moves them towards the trees. As the rain starts to come down harder, Kyle looks so disappointed. Farmer takes their hand giving it a little squeeze, breaking down that wall of anxiety. He lets out a sigh, expressing his frustration. He tells them that he wanted today to be perfect, now it's ruined because of the rain. Farmer laughs and pulls them down, planting a kiss on their cheek. Kyle's face turns red from the sweet action. He goes to kiss them back, to return the kiss, but as he does water drops down from the top of the trees. They're both soaked now, water clinging to their clothes. Kyle looks down and just laughs. He wraps an arm around them and pulls them in for a kiss. Pulling away, he brushes his fingers across their face and whispers.
"You always find a way to make things better. I don't feel like I have to be perfect all the time, that it's okay to mess up because I know you'll still love me. My worries just seem to melt away. I love you so much."
Heart Event @ 14:
Ever since Kyle moved in he's slowed down, taking better care of himself. No longer piling too much on his plate, so it surprises the Farmer to se him falling back into old habits. Kyle is pacing around the house in a huff. Ike tells the Farmer that their parents called and that they're making a surprise visit soon. Kyle stops his frantic cleaning for just a moment to stress how much he hates this. He's worried that they're going to be mad because he didn't invite them to the wedding, even when they already reassured him that they're not. Farmer questions why they're coming, which Kyle just sighs and tells them that they want to meet his partner. Farmer reassures Kyle that everything will be fine, that they can't wait to meet his parents. He just grumbles and tells them to hold off on that excitement. Once again Farmer calms the man down, Kyle takes a deep breath and watches his beloved partner get to work. Between the two of them and Ike, they're able to get everything together. Just as dinner is finished, Kyle's parents arrive. Kyle introduces the Farmer to his parents who immediately start gushing over them. The dinner table is set and soon the entire family is sitting around the, making small talk. Sheila starts asking Farmer a list of questions, trying to get to know them. Why did they become a Farmer? What drew them to the Valley? >> Honestly? I needed to start over. Grandpa gave me a second chance and I guess I just fell in love with this little town. >> The city life was too loud. I needed something quiet and easy. >> The Valley needed help! I couldn't just ignore it! If First Option: Sheila smiles and puts her hand on her chest. She tells the Farmer that it's incredibly sweet of their grandfather to look after them. She thinks it's great that they love the town that Kyle grew up in! If Second Option: Sheila doesn't agree that the city is that bad, but she goes on to tell the Farmer she grew up a city girl. She does agree that city life can sweep you away if you're not careful, she's glad the Farmer taught Kyle to slow down. If Third Option: Sheila isn't quite sure she understands what Farmer is trying to get at, but if it's what drives them then who is she to argue? She's just happy that Ike's grades have improved and that Kyle is happy. Either way dinner is lively, once they're finished they thank the Farmer for everything. For taking care of their sons and welcoming them into their lovely home. Sheila admits that she was skeptical at first but after seeing how Kyle looks at the Farmer, she's wholeheartedly approves of their marriage. They leave with a quick hug, letting Kyle know that they'll be staying at the tavern for a few days before going home. As they make the trip back to town, Kyle wraps his arm around the Farmer and smiles softly.
"They really like you, not that I had any doubts they wouldn't. You're amazing. I always knew you were, ever since you moved to this town. I'm just glad they love you almost as much as I do."
Random Marriage Quotes!!
"Good morning my love. Yeah... that still feels weird to say but...I kind of like it. Waking up next to you is everything." "Please make sure you're being careful when you go out. I'm not going to stop you, just come home to me. Please." "Look I love you, but please if you have to go to the mines...shower before you come to bed. Shower with you? That-...isn't a bad idea." "Read up on how to take care of crops on my lunch break! I hope you don't mind that I already watered the plants for you!" "Ike really likes all the animals, he actually woke up before to feed them all!" "Do...do you think my hair is stupid? Cartman said something about it today and I know I shouldn't put merit in what he says but...You like my hair? And my nose? But I didn't- God you're too good to me." "I always had this fear of getting married, I was afraid that I'd end up like my parents. They're not bad just...never mind. Just thank you for being my partner." "Hey, take this medicine with you. If you get into trouble it will help. I don't care if it tastes bad! I don't want to find you passed out again!" "I'm taking Ike over to Kenny's today, he wants to hang out with Karen. Feel free to swing by when you're done doing what you need to do! The guys would love to see you." "You know I love you right? And I'll tell you it as many times as you need. You make it so easy to love you that I'm worried I'm not enough."

For the next week, the sun rises and sets as if things were normal. But you, your co-workers, your family, and pretty much everyone in this town know that it is anything but.
“ Hmm ,” You let out a thoughtful noise that does very little except fill the silence in between you and your brother. "Are we there yet?"
  " Nope."
  " Ugh."
You roll your eyes with a huff, and your brother just lets out a bit of a snicker at your response. Tonight you’re walking home with Yuuta after a long, long shift. You managed to scoot out of the diner right as the sign flipped to close, but even then, you don’t think that was soon enough. You can’t remember how long you’ve been up, and you can’t exactly remember how long you’ve been on your feet too. But you know that your whole body aches and your soul feels tired and drained in a way you truly hadn’t felt since you first started working at the diner.
  And who can blame you?
The diner has been busier than usual, and everyone knows it. Still, it doesn’t stop people from forming a line out the door under the guise of coming here for lunch or dinner because they were simply “in the neighborhood.” They’re all adults and elders who act like they wouldn’t be caught dead in a candy store. But too, too many of them have dared to get offended when you have to be the one to tell them that no , you can’t just sell them a Gojo Bar here- that’s just not how this all works.
So to no one’s surprise, more deserts are being ordered than usual. Every shift, you have seen the chefs working long and hard while someone is always on hand, shilling chocolate bars. Your boss had the genius idea of adding more dessert items that use Gojo Candy Products in them too. So now everything is chocolate puddings and chocolate cakes and Sundaes Supremes with Gojo Chocolate Chunks. You’ve even heard from your co-workers that it’s becoming rarer and rarer that they have someone coming in and asking for a cinnamon bun or a muffin or even a slice of Zenin Diner’s once-famous banana bread.
Everything is Gojo Candy this, Gojo Candy that. And honestly, you too, are a part of that craze. Just a little bit, at least. You rarely get a chance to enjoy things this sweet. But candy doesn’t fill your stomach. Candy doesn’t pay your bills. But it does make you so, so happy and so, so jealous of everyone who is able to buy and eat it freely. It makes you want to be someone else. Someone who didn’t have to share such a small room with her little brother. Someone who wasn’t in shoes that were far too worn down to be good for you. Someone who didn’t have to smile and nod alongside their parents as they lie to everyone and say that they’ve already eaten. When the truth is that they're starving.
Someone who wasn’t dirt fucking poor.
But with the increase in sales comes an increase in your pay. Slightly, anyways. Your boss is at least kind enough to ensure that. But for the most part, you’ve had self-control. You keep saving your money for things that are important like materials to fix holes in the house and a couple of other groceries that aren’t just cabbage, cabbage, and cabbage. You did almost freak out when Nobara managed to sneak you a chocolate bar from the kitchen, though (and made you promise to split the winnings with her if you scored a ticket). And you are fiddling a little too much with the wrapper of another Gojo Candy Bar that’s burning a hole in your jacket pocket as you walk down an empty sidewalk on the way home. But this one isn’t for you.
It’s for the boy in front of you. For Yuuta.
Although he’s quiet right now, you can tell that he still has quite a bit of energy left in him. He’s smiling as he walks. Taking every step confidently as if he knows exactly where he’s going. Which at this point, you truly, truly, truly hope he does. Because he was the one to tell you that he wanted to show you something. And on most nights after a long shift, you wouldn’t entertain him. And you certainly wouldn’t let him take you on a different, much longer path to get home on most nights either. Especially nights that are as chilly and as breezy as this one. But tomorrow is his birthday. He’ll be another year older. He’ll have completed another trip around the sun. And he'll have reached another milestone that you’ve long since passed.
But he’s still your baby brother. Your baby brother who still smiles. Your baby brother who still walks with a skip in his step. Your baby brother who seems way too comfortable walking along an empty sidewalk with way too few streetlights for your tastes- even with the lack of cars on this road. But he's the same baby brother who never complains, never cries, and never is ungrateful. Your baby brother who still holds onto hope. Even despite all the news.
To put it simply, tickets two through four have been found in the span of a week since the kid in Germany got the first one. Time is running out. And yet, he still has hope.
Ticket number two went to a particularly posh-looking little girl from somewhere in Great Britain. The story broke on your shift the day after the first ticket was found. Everyone crowded around the TVs in the diner again (including you) to watch a little girl dressed to the 9’s in her Sunday Best show off the shiny golden ticket in pristine lighting with a sickly sweet smile. She had a proud set of parents behind her. Equally as prim and polished and posh-looking as the little girl was. And saying all the right things for the interview. As if they knew that they were going to end up with a ticket all along.
You remember clicking your tongue as the feeling of irritation bubbled up inside you at the sight of the little girl and her parents. Although hearing that the only reason she managed to get a ticket in the first place was because her father’s peanut shelling and sorting factory switched to candy bars to appease her was a big source of annoyance too. You remember going to school with girls like her. Although they were probably nowhere near as rich, you have no doubt in your mind her character is exactly the same as the girls you grew up with. Spoiled rotten .
But you didn’t say any of this out loud, even though part of you wanted to. As you grew older, you grew wiser. And you realized that behind every brat was one of the worst types of parents that can raise a kid- the ones that never say no.
However, you didn’t really need to say anything at all. The outrage from the other patrons watching the TV screen at the diner was loud enough to drown out your thoughts. Even Yuuta looked a bit pissed off when you told him about the second ticket winner as the two of you walked home from your shift that night. Not to mention, it was the hot topic of your household when you got home later that evening. Everyone was up in arms about her- including your kind and sweethearted Grandpa Aibara.
And the next ticket winner? Well, that girl wasn’t much better.
This story broke three days later- around dinner time at your house. The third ticket winner was a girl from America. And her interview took place in a nicely decorated home filled to the brim with large, shiny trophies. All the trophies that she won.
Including one for holding the current record for competitive gum chewing. Whatever that meant.
But all throughout dinner, you joined your bedridden grandparents and your bone-tired parents around the TV, watching the news on the tiny screen. And all throughout her interview, the little girl talked confidently with her smiling mother standing just behind her. She answered questions matter-of-factly. And she almost had a charm about her. Almost. You could tell from the get-go that she was conceited and arrogant. She chewed gum the entire interview. Wet smacks and the slight grinding of teeth could be picked up in the microphone they had her speaking in, but it seemed like she didn’t care. Or maybe she did, but she cared about her record-breaking a bit more than a measly interview.
Though she did say she managed to spit out the gum and keep it behind her ear long enough to switch to Gojo Bars. Just so she could win a ticket.
And once again, it looked like everybody else could sniff out the bad manners of the newest ticket winner. After every question she answered, someone (usually Grandpa Kusakabe) always had something nasty to say about her even nastier attitude. It always earned a few loud laughs from some of your family and poorly hidden chuckles from the other half.
But even so, watching this interview made the cabbage stew sit worse in your stomach than it usually did. Maybe it’s because you were the only one who noticed how sad Yuuta would get when he would look at the girl’s house and all her shiny trophies before turning and looking at your house’s barren walls. Maybe it’s because you knew deep down inside that if you were as accomplished as this little girl was, you’d be full of yourself too.
That was all three days ago. Sales for Gojo Bars were going quicker than quick after more and more winners were announced. And your little brother? Well, he was looking more and more defeated as the days went by- knowing that he’d need a whole lot more than just luck to land a ticket after hearing how the winners found theirs.
That was until, an hour and a half before your shift ended today.
The diner was still on the busier side, but there were enough seats open at the counter that Yuuta didn’t have to feel bad about popping a squat at the edge seat so he could do some of his homework before you walked home with him.
Though, for the most part, things were quiet. Enjoyable even, as you made some light chitchat with some of your regulars while the diner began to ease out of the dinner rush. But out of nowhere, you hear all too familiar jingle of the breaking news segment coming from the TV. As a natural reflex, your eyes turn towards the screen- as did everyone else in the diner.
And sure enough, there he is- winner number four.
Although, this kid manages to stick out in a major way. Like all the winners so far, winner Junpei Yoshino (who is, so far, the only one you managed to remember by name- or maybe just the only one haven’t forgotten yet- Whoops!) is just about Yuuta’s age. But unlike the other winners, Junpei does his interview with an expression so bored, you would have thought the kid was forced to watch paint dry.
If you could even consider what he did to be ‘doing an interview' at all!
No, instead of smiling big and bright and talking animatedly with the newsperson sent to his house, Junpei was looking at something other than a camera. He was looking at his own TV as he did nothing but play video games during his interview.
Behind him stood an exasperated mother- one who at least had the decency to look horrified at the monster she had created. Questions were almost always redirected towards her, save for an occasional one that Junpei was able to answer with a few short words (so long as they didn’t get in the way of whatever violent video game he was playing on the latest console).
You remember feeling so surprised that a child could have such a dead look on his face. The bags sitting beneath his eyes were dark. And the only time he really showed emotion was to curl up his lips at his screen and snarl at something happening in his games. It was a teeny bit frightening to watch. And all you could do was thank your lucky stars that your grandpa Kusakabe was nowhere as near as unpleasant as that kid was.
Even the people in the diner were disenchanted by the little boy's apathy. You heard some elders in booth nearby call him rude and all sorts of things while parents with young children shook their heads at the screen and muttered to themselves about how they could fix his attitude. And you swore, even Yuuta was intimidated by the scary look and disrespectful attitude of the guy. That was until Junpei was asked the question ‘ How many candy bars did you open?’
‘One,’ The little boy had said, eyes never once moving away from the screen. ‘ I hate chocolate.’
If Yuuta heard the second part of his statement, he didn’t show it. Because he was far stuck on the first part- the fact that someone had won by opening only a single Gojo Candy Bar. It reminded Yuuta that there was such a thing as a little bit of luck left in the world. Just a little bit, at least. But he doesn’t care about how much. And frankly, neither do you.
Because you know that every birthday, even before the candy craze, Yuuta has asked for the same thing: a Gojo Candy Bar. And you know that it was after pooling together what meager money you and your parents were able to spare, they went out and bought him one. But that candy bar was at home. The one sitting in your pocket is an entirely different one.
But it’s a chance of upping his odds. And it was worth spending your tip money on. Well worth it. Because that's just the kind of older sister you are.
So you don’t say much of anything as your little brother leads you down this empty sidewalk with just enough street lights to lead his way. And you don’t say anything when you notice from afar that your brother just so happens to be taking you past a tall, tall fence that blocks the world’s access from a big, big, big factory just on the other side. A factory that has a nice, fancy Gojo Candy painted on the side.
No, even then, you still don’t say anything. You just follow close behind as your brother leads the way. Still full of energy. Still full of smiles. Still full of hopes and dreams and, maybe just a little bit of luck.
So you think about that. You think about hopes. You think about dreams. You think about your little brother. And most importantly. You try not to think about the cold. The harsh, the biting, the growing cold.
Because it only serves to remind you of the tights that you just didn’t have enough money to buy when all was said and done.

Halloween with Leon (Part 1)
Tumblr media
Pairing ~ Leon Dompteur x Reader
Word Count ~ 1k
Warnings ~ None, except for the fact that Leon only appears in flashback in this fic, since it's just Part 1. But there's a BIG warning for some adorable Licht and Yves content ahead!
Tumblr media
It was a once in a lifetime opportunity to have a Halloween party with the princes of Rhodolite. You wished you could claim credit for the brilliant idea, but in reality, it was Yves. He conjured up the thought one brisk afternoon in the garden. You had relaxed into the sofa, where a table of autumn-themed treats sat before you. Yves had truly outdone himself this time. There were leaf-shaped cinnamon cookies, pumpkin spice cupcakes with adorable sugar leaves and icing pumpkins decorating the tops, a caramel cheesecake, pumpkin pecan pudding, caramel apple tarts, and a beautifully decorated chocolate peanut butter cake.
Yves handed you a cup of warm, caramel flavored coffee, and you took it with a grateful smile. Licht had already grabbed a cookie from the pumpkin shaped serving dish and was quietly munching on it when Yves finally sat down across from you. “So, you and Leon went to the pumpkin patch a few days ago?” Yves smiled over his cup of tea, his clear blue eyes pinning you with questions unasked. In response, your cheeks flushed ever so slightly and you stole a glance into your mug.
“Mhm,” you hummed, knowing you had yet to hear the end of it.
“Well, how was it? Don’t think you can get away with not telling me. I’ll either find out from you or I’ll go to Leon myself. Now which do you want it to be?”
“Okay, okay! I’ll tell you, have mercy!” you surrendered, giggling.
“That’s more like it!” Yves set his cup down and clapped his hands together. “Ready for this, Licht? This is when we both find out if my lessons paid off!” Licht nodded and they both turned their full attention to you.
“Well, we went to the pumpkin patch, and there were quite a few people who recognized Leon and wanted to talk to him.”
Yves rolled his eyes. “Didn’t they see that they were interrupting a very important date?!”
“Yves!” you chided him as the color in your cheeks deepened.
“Well it’s true!” Yves countered. “If they had known how long-awaited this outing was, maybe they would have had the decency to give you two some privacy!”
“Leon is well liked everywhere, Yves.” Lict replied calmly.
“Licht is right.” you said. “No matter when we went or where we went, people would want to talk to him, and he would oblige them. It’s part of who he is.” You paused, wondering if you should let the next bit slip, but you figured it was no use trying to hide it from the 5th and 6th princes anymore. “It’s part of what I love about him.” you muttered, and the irritation in Yves’s eyes disappeared almost instantaneously, replaced by a mischievous gleam.
“Oh, yes?” He quirked an intrigued eyebrow at you. “What else do you love about Leon?”
“Yveeeeees,” you drawled in exhasperation.
“Alright, so what happened next?”
“Well, once we got our pumpkins, we decided to get some food.-”
“Oh! Did you use the method I taught you?!” Yves cried and you chuckled.
“I tried to, yeah.”
“How did it work?” He leaned forward, an expectant smile on his lips.
“Leon saw through it right away and just laughed.” you shrugged, and Yves’s shoulders fell.
“Ugh.” Yves swiped a hand over his face in defeat, while your smile widened. He looked up and met your gaze after several seconds, and his expression shifted from disappointment into suspicion. “Why are you smiling like that?”
“Because while he may have seen through my act, he knew what I was trying to do, so he picked me up and carried me to where they were selling food.” You covered your eyes with your sweater sleeves as you thought back to being hauled up against the 4th prince’s warm, solid body in front of all those people.
“I knew it!” Yves screeched in triumph. “I knew it would work!”
You laughed loudly and reached for a tarte, stealing a glance at Licht, who had already gone through a few more sweets during the conversation. Even he was smiling, if only barely, the sight uncharacteristic to his usually solemn countenance. You couldn’t be more thankful for these princes - your friends. “I guess my favorite season is lucky for me.” You chuckled as you lifted the tarte to your lips.
“Wait a second…” Yves gave pause, then erupted. “That’s it!”
“What’s it?” You echoed, your tarte still hovering in front of your mouth.
“Your favorite season, your favorite holiday! We can capitalize on this!”
“Yves, what are you talking about?”
“You want Leon to take the next step in your relationship, right?”
“...yes.” you murmured, your face suddenly feeling hot again. Yves didn’t realize just how much he was insinuating, but you guessed that Licht did, what with how he turned his face away from you with slightly reddened ears as if to say, “I don’t want to hear this!”
“Then we need to make him jealous!” Yves rattled on, unaware. “We’ll host a party for us and the nobles - that includes you, of course. It can be a masquerade ball for Halloween!”
“This sounds like an amazing idea, Yves!” You piped up. “But, tell me how a masquerade ball will make Leon jealous.”
“He won’t get the chance to ask you to be his partner.” Yves grinned wickedly.
“Who will be my partner then?” you asked, still uncertain about where this was going.
“Me or Licht, of course!” he beamed, but Licht’s frown deepened. Thankfully, before you could say the words yourself, Licht was already saying them.
“Leon knows that neither of us are romantically interested in her. He also knows we would never have unsavory intentions with her. That won’t make him jealous at all.”
“Hmph.” Yves dropped his chin into his hand, seeing the truth in Licht’s words, but not a way around them.
“Uhm.” you cleared your throat and their eyes were on you again.
“I know someone who might be willing…”

@bentacled sent: "I believe in you. You can do this. And I'll be right behind you." xoxo avril <3
He doesn't even know why he's nervous. He's done this a thousand times before. Hell, the whole process had been demystified before he even turned eighteen. The paperwork is all signed, the first week is paid for (courtesy of the great philanthropic bank of the one and only Allison Hargreeves), everything he owns is now tucked neatly in a little plastic bag, in a little plastic tub, with his name written in little black letters by the very nice intake nurse. In a month's time they'll spit him back out, all shiny and drug-free, and send him on his merry way, right back into the alley from whence he came.
"Right this way, Mr. Hargreeves," the nurse says, and even then Klaus finds himself flinching at the formality.
Mr. Hargreeves is my father, he wants to snap. My name is Klaus. Not Number Four. Not the Seance. Not Hargreeves. Just Klaus.
He can't bring himself to budge from his spot in the lobby. Already, he can feel the itch beginning to creep up under his skin like a million pins and needles. Already, the bright white lights hurt his eyes, and he feels naked without his favorite lighter in his pocket, and ugh, god, he can't go back to eating pudding cups and boring white people food every day!
Really, he should just turn around and march back out the door. It would be easier for everyone that way. Surely the staff here are tired of seeing his face, surely everyone is tired of his shit, except—
Except Ben.
Ben, who somehow always seems to knows exactly the right thing to say— who calls Klaus on his shit just as often as he reminds Klaus to be a little kinder to himself.
Klaus takes a breath as he glances over to his brother, and suddenly it all feels a little less daunting. I'll be right behind you, he says, and even though Klaus so badly wants to snap something snarky, the God honest truth is that he doesn't know if he can do this without his brother.
"Yeah, I...yeah. I can do this."
He scratches at the scrawny hair that's growing too damn long on the back of his neck, repeats the mantra as if he might actually start to believe it.
Just take a step forward. They're waiting for you, Klaus. Just go inside. Ben will be here the whole time. It's okay. You've got him.
Digging his nails into the palm of his hand, he looks over to his brother once more, flashes a lopsided grin, and takes his first step forward.

salutations! I have a question for you. What food/food textures do you despise?
For me it has to be lumpy bits in smooth food (rice pudding), chewy bits in tough food (the fat in meat), and food that sort of breaks into small bits when you eat it (like taco-meat)
Ugh... Reading your examples sent a shiver down my spine...
I agree with your aversions. I prefer textures to stay consistent in the foods I eat. I am also not a fan of foods with sticky, semi-solid, or slick textures. There are exceptions to this, but they are few.

After putting his reveal
Literally everyone except Luffy: oh my God who could have known!
Ussop: I did.
everyone: This is such a shock nobody even suspected her being a witch!
Ussop: I literally said she was on like day one!
Everyone: this is such a shock nobody saw coming!
Ussop: I did! I saw it coming, but no one believed me!
Usopp: Oooohohoho I have to spend this credit wisely. For a limited time, my words will be seen as truth since *I* called it that Pudding was a witch--
Rando in the background: something something Mothman--
Luffy: Hey! Last week, Usopp told me he was friends with Mothman
Everyone: Ugh, class liar strikes again
Usopp: Nooooo!

why it seems nothing ever gets done
Made stove-top rice pudding for breakfast today. And coffee.
Done full happy.
Okay, so far so good.
Now it's time to get ready to go out for the day.
Scoop all the rest of the pudding into a container for the fridge.
Yay me picked exactly the right size container, good job.
But the shelf in the fridge is obstructed by four bags of carrots and cauliflower and oranges from the food distribution from last Thursday.
There is a vegetable drawer in this fridge, and the vegetable drawer is compromised by two big lettuces, which to be honest are not in great shape by now and which I will not eat no matter what.
Okay, set container of pudding down on counter to have hands free to move lettuce out to compost to move carrots to drawer etc.
The going-out-to-compost bowl is now overflowing with big green stuff.
Take compost bowl outside down stairs to empty into green bin.
Now, remember to put pudding container in fridge. Yay me I remembered something important after those interruptions.
All done, right?
Well, all except the dirty dishes and ugh the dirty pan.
Wash dishes.
Rinse out compost bowl.
Scrub rice-y milk scum from pan.
Empty wash basin into sink.
All done, right?
Well, all except the rice clumps caught in sink strainer.
Take sink strainer full of rice outside down stairs to empty into green bin.
Go upstairs to get keys and go out for the day.
Oops, forgot to pour the leftover coffee into a jar for fridge so I can have it later.
Find glass jar with a lid that fits.
Yes, I sorted through the stupid jar collection last week so I know that each jar in cupboard does have its lid. Only a simple matter of grabbing one.
Okay, stow leftover coffee.
Okay, rinse coffee pot.
Whew, really all done this time.
Oops, there's the used coffee cup over there where I left it.
Nope nope nope not dealing with that now.
And it took a half hour after breakfast to accomplish clearing up from breakfast.
Ya see, that's why it seems like nothing ever gets done. Because even the simplest idea "enjoy rice pudding" involves a dozen physical and mental steps, time and energy.
Y'all are heroes just for succeeding at existing.
I love you all.

Milly Thompson, Vash the Stampede, Legato Bluesummers, Roy Mustang, Schezka, Izumi Curtis, Van Hohenheim
From this ask game
*shudder* I don't want to go anywhere with Legato! What's wrong with you???? D8
Go grocery shopping with - Milly!!! I wanna go grocery shopping with my sweet Milly! She'd be able to carry most of the groceries herself - most of which would be pudding cups, probably XD But she just seems like she would make anything fun, and she's always so cheerful. We could chat about our families and our jobs, and everything would just be so normal - even though she's anything but.
Have lunch with - I would love to get to taste whatever Izumi Curtis would make for lunch. I'd be a little scared of her, no doubt, but maybe if I just work hard at helping her cook and then wash dishes, she won't yell or anything. After all, I wouldn't be her pupil, so she'd probably be pretty kind. I would totally freak out if she coughed up blood while I was there, though :'(
Have coffee with - Ugh, this is going to sound like worst self-insert fic ever, but...Roy Mustang >///< I would be extremely flustered and tongue-tied, because he would turn up the charm and make it seem like we're on a date in a cute little cafe. But then it would become clear that it's a front for some mission, or the whole point is to pass along information or something like that. Which would be cool enough in its own way. But...you know...it would be really nice to hear his laugh and see him smile, even if he were faking it. We don't see near enough of that in canon.
Go thrift shopping with - I think it would be really fun (and funny!) to go thrifting with Vash XD It would be hilarious to watch his antics, and adorable to watch his fascination with like...children's toys, or antiques that remind him of somebody he used to know. And of course, Vash being Vash, we'd probably end up in a holdup or a shootout or something, which would suck, but at least I'd get to see his incredible gunslinging skills up close, and I know no one would get hurt. Except maybe him :(
Explore a museum/art gallery/aquarium with - Can you imagine going to an art gallery with a man who was alive when most, if not all, of the artists were alive? Maybe he even knew some of them personally! Hohenheim got around! Not to mention, there's probably some artists among the 536,329 souls inside him! He could explain all the interesting backstories and tidbits and artist's techniques that you don't get on the little plaque underneath the frame. And maybe he'd been to some of those places, and he could tell me whether it was an accurate depiction or not. What I'm saying is, Theophrastus Bombastus van Hohenheim would make the best tour guide ever. (This would also apply to a science or history museum, but for some reason my mind latched onto art instead.)
Go the library/bookstore with - Well, obviously I have to go to the library with Scieszka! She would know where all the best books are! Her recommendations would be so good! I bet I could give her a list of my favorite books, and she'd immediately grab a whole stack of books in the same vein that would last me the next year!
Have as a plus-one at a wedding - Okay, okay, fine. Legato would ask me to go with him to a wedding for some unfathomable reason, and I would say yes because I would be terrified not to, and then at the first opportunity, I would make an excuse to go to the bathroom, and then try to climb out a window and escape, except he'd probably figure out what I was trying to do and then kill me. Or force me to kill myself. Either way, it ain't gonna be pretty. Unless Vash gets wind of it and comes over from the thrift store and saves us all.

“Osamu!” You screeched, attempting to push your older brother off of you. “Get him off!”
Atsumu had tackled you to the ground and was sitting on your back, cackling with satisfaction as he pinned you down.
“I can’t help ya.” Osamu smirked as he walked by. He sat on the couch adjacent to you and Atsumu with an amused glimmer in his eyes. “Shouldn’t have eaten his pudding.”
“Why do you care if I eat his pudding?!” You growled, thrashing around under Atsumu to get some kind of leverage while he sat on you with all of his weight, rendering your limbs useless.
“If you eat his pudding, then he eats mine.” Osamu shrugged, “And I hate it when he does that.”
“Take it up with him! I just grabbed whatever was closest. You guys are so weird with your labeled food!” You tried to throw a punch at Atsumu and he caught your fist easily, snickering when you let out a loud whine. “Atsumu, get OFF!”
“No can do, kiddo.” He grinned, “Ya know what happens when you eat our food.”
“I’m gonna tell mom.” You mumbled.
“That’s dirty. Don’t bring mom into this.” Osamu interrupted and you shot a death glare at him.
“Stop involving yourself! I don’t need your commentary.”
“Don’t be such a tattle tale.” Atsumu teased, finally easing up on you and taking a bit of the weight off of your back. You gasped dramatically as you could finally take a full, deep breath.
“Thank you, god. You’re heavy.” You said quietly, deciding to fully submit and just lay down on the living room floor.
“Did you just call me fat?!” Atsumu gasped, crawling over to your face to look you in the eyes.
“Yes.” You nodded. Atsumu immediately turned to Osamu, who burst out laughing at his offended expression.
“Laugh it up, ‘Samu. If I’m fat then so are you.” Atsumu muttered as he finally stood up to take a seat next to Osamu on the couch.
“I can’t stand either of you.” You mumbled, grabbing a pillow and throwing it at them.
“Why’s baby Miya throwing a temper tantrum?” A familiar, monotone voice was coming from the entry way. You hadn’t even heard him come in.
“None of your business, Suna.” You glared at the tall boy. He responded with a crooked smirk while he walked in with his hands plunged deep in his pockets.
Suna was over at your house almost every day. He also teased you as much as your brothers did, if not more.
“Jeez, what’s with the attitude?” He snorted, “You sound like Atsumu. I swear you’re triplets.”
Suna jumped over the back of the couch and plopped down between the twins. You sat up, looking at the three of them for a second before getting up and retreating to your room.
“Aw, come on baby Miya. Where are you going?” Suna called after you while you walked down the hallway.
“I need to get ready. I’m going out tonight.”
You retreated to your bedroom and sat down at your vanity. Before you could even pull out a hair brush, Osamu had burst into your bedroom.
“Where ya going?” He asked, leaning against the doorway.
“Out?” You replied, getting up to sift through your closet for something to wear.
Your friend had set you up on a blind date tonight. Your mom had held your brothers back a year and since you were only 10 months apart, you were all in the same year. This meant you all had the same classmates, knew all of the same people, and they were constantly in your business.
When your friend had told you about this guy, he sounded too good to be true. He had gone to another school that was a bit further away, but since you had all graduated a few months prior you figured a bit of distance wasn’t that big of a deal. After all, you were all adults now.
“Out where?” Atsumu asked, pushing the door open all the way and standing against the other side of the frame.
“On a date…” you muttered. The moment you said that, your brothers came in and promptly sat on your bed.
“Where are you going?”
“With who?”
“Where did you meet him?”
“How old is he?”
“Is he picking you up?”
“How long have you known him for?”
“Oh my god.” You groaned, pointing at your door. “Can you guys get out? I need to get ready. Why are you asking so many questions?”
“Believe it or not, kiddo, we just want to make sure you’re safe.” Osamu said, standing up and walking over to pat you on your head.
“Ugh, ‘Samu, you guys don’t have to treat me like a kid still. I’m an adult now, you know.” You said, crossing your arms.
“But you’ll always be our little sister.” Atsumu smiled. “Mom can’t keep track of all of us all the time. So we need to do it for her.” His words were genuine. Even though the three of you bickered and teased each other, you were protective of each other. You knew your brothers would do anything for you.
You’d never tell them, but you’d do anything for them, too.
“If anyone needs keeping track of, it’s you two.” You smirked. Atsumu rolled his eyes and Osamu shrugged you off.
Your brothers tried to pry more information out of you, but you only told them the bare minimum. After all, you barely even knew anything. You didn’t even know his name.
“So? Where’s she going?” Suna asked as the twins came back into the living room. He was sprawled out on the couch and flicking through the tv channels.
“That restaurant downtown. The one a few bus stops before your house.” Atsumu said with crossed arms. “She won’t let us drive her.”
“I’ll take the bus with her.” Suna shrugged, “It’s on the way, so I’ll make sure she gets there safely.”
“Good. Then you can tell us who she’s meetin’ there.” Osamu smirked.
Whether or not Osamu had asked, Suna was planning on finding that out regardless.
“Call is if you need anythin’!” Atsumu called to you as you walked to the door.
“We’ll come! Just call us, okay?” Osamu added.
“I’ll be fine, but thanks. I’ll text you when I’m on my way home.” You said loud enough for them to hear you in the other room. “Love you.”
“Love ya!” They replied in unison.
“Are you sure you’re not just spying on me?” You mumbled just loud enough for Suna to hear you from the seat behind you.
“Just decided to go home, baby Miya.” He replied, leaning forward. “Why? Do you want me to spy on you?”
“No!” You turned around and squinted your eyes at him. He looked back at you with a playful smirk and then went back to paying attention to his phone.
You got off the bus and hesitated for a moment, half expecting Suna to get off after you.
Except he didn’t.
You sighed, feeling the nerves creeping up and realizing you really were all alone now. Meeting a man you didn’t know, and unsure of what to expect.
You looked around and pulled out your phone to check the message from your friend again to refresh yourself on the characteristics of your blind date.
Dark hair, about 5’10, dark green eyes, ah-
“Miya, is it?” A man fitting the exact description was standing in front of you, a rose in hand and suspicious smirk across his lips.
“Yes, sorry, what’s your name?” Your voice was trembling and you had no idea why. You chalked it up to nerves, but it might’ve been the uneasiness you’d felt when you made eye contact with him.
“Daishou Suguru.” He said melodically. He handed you the rose and lightly pressed his hand to your lower back. “Shall we go inside? I have a table for us.”
You nodded, walking inside with him.
——
“So, Miya, any relation to those twins?” He asked, leaning in with his chin on his palm. He stared at you intently as if he wanted to soak in every word you were about to say.
“Oh, yeah. They’re my brothers.” You smiled. Even though they irritated you, you always liked to talk about them. You were proud of your brothers and all of their accomplishments, and talking about them was easier than having to come up with things to say about yourself.
“Ah,” Daishou nodded, thanking the server as she passed your dishes to the two of you. “Those two are real shit talkers, huh?”
“Yeah,” you laughed, a bit too casually for the occasion and realized you’d never even heard this guy’s name prior to tonight. “Wait, why do you say that?”
You were familiar with pretty much all of the volleyball players that your brothers had faced off against. Inarizaki’s own team were like family, but the other teams were around so often you’d gotten to know quite a few of the players from other schools just by going to the games and tournaments.
“Played against them once.” Daishou mumbled, the previously warm expression in his eyes was gone. “I don’t know which one I hate more. The mouthy setter or the spiker with the ego.”
You got goosebumps when he spoke these words. These weren’t normal rivalry grudges. This sounded like pure, unprecedented hatred.
You started to feel uncomfortable.
You hummed in acknowledgement. You weren’t sure how to reply, but you wanted him to know you’d heard him and were listening.
“So, how are you going to make it up to me?” Daishou asked. You froze, looking up at him.
His previously cold expression was warm again, cheeks round with a big smile. “I’m kidding.”
“Oh,” you giggled nervously and decided to focus on eating your dinner.
The rest of the evening went by okay. Little comments like that would have you unsure if there were ulterior motives, but when you’d try to look into it you’d see a happy smile from your date. Maybe he really was just joking, and was nervously trying to make you laugh.
When it was time to go, Daishou paid for the both of you and you left the restaurant together.
It was dark outside and pouring rain. You sighed, looking down the street at the empty bus stop. The bus wouldn’t be coming for another 20 minutes.
“Let me wait with you for the bus.” He smiled, wrapping an arm around your waist again. “I wouldn’t want you out here all alone.”
You reluctantly accepted but tried to keep your distance. While his arm was around you, your arms were crossed and you were trying to stay as far from him as possible. Something was off, and you wanted to get as far away from him as quickly as possible.
You sent your brothers a quick text to let them know which bus you’d be on.
“Let’s wait over here. Out of the rain.”
Before you could reply, he grabbed your hand and yanked you down a small alley. It was covered by the overhead of the buildings roof, but was pitch black.
“I had a nice time tonight.” Daishou purred, pressing his body against you and trapping you against the cold brick wall.
“Yeah, me too…” You said quietly.
Only a few more minutes.
Daishou leaned down, trailing his hand up your chest and wrapping his long fingers around your throat. Your breath hitched and you felt tears well up in your eyes. You knew something was wrong. You knew something was going to happen. Your gut feeling was never wrong.
You tensed up, preparing to punch him the moment you felt pressure from his fingers. Instead of choking you, however, his hand rested gingerly on your skin and he leaned down to kiss you.
You kissed back, completely uninterested but not wanting him to know that.
“So, you are easy.” He smirked against your lips. He grabbed your hands and held them against the wall. His tongue started to force its way into your mouth and as you tried to break away, his body pressed into you harder, making you unable to move.
“Please stop,” you whimpered, “I don’t- I don’t want this.”
“Just relax.” He dug his fingers into your wrist, holding both of your hands together with just one of his, and using his free hand to move down your body and fondle your chest.
“Daishou- I-“ you gasped when he bit down on your neck. It didn’t feel good at all, and was just a swearing pain.
“You know, it really is a shame that you’re related to those two.” He muttered against your skin. “You’re a pretty girl. Probably would’ve liked you had your shitty brothers not have been such dicks.”
“Please, please just get off-“ You sniffled. You fought your brothers all the time, so why couldn’t you get him off? Why were you tensing up? Why were you crying? Just push him off, just push and run.
“Shut up.” He muttered. He slipped his hand into your pants and you let out a sob.
“No, no! Get off of me! Stop!” You were crying now, your voice getting louder as you attempted to break from his hold.
Unfortunately, he was just too strong for you. He smacked you across the face and pressed his palm to your mouth.
“I told you to shut up.” He growled. “Blame the twins for this.”
You were sobbing now. Completely terrified as this man assaulted your body in this dark alley and all you could think about was how badly you wanted to get out of there. How badly you wished your brothers had spied on you, how much you wanted them to protect you in that moment.
Daishou glared at you as your wails got louder, pulling back and slapping you across the face so hard you thought you were seeing stars.
“That’s what happens when stupid girls like you don’t listen. Now be quiet!”
Your vision was blurred and dark and you thought you were about to pass out when you felt the weight of his body completely lifted off of you.
You immediately felt relief, not in the form of safety by any means but you felt like you could somewhat breathe again. The blow he’d given you to the head had you feeling dizzy and you sunk to the ground against the wall.
“You fucking-“ *whack*
“piece-“ *whack*
“of shit!” *whack*
You squinted your eyes open at the familiar voice. The same voice that had annoyed you earlier that afternoon. The voice that immediately gave you a sense of safety in that dark alley.
“Suna..?” You barely managed to squeak out. You were sure he didn’t hear you considering you could barely hear your own voice.
“You’re going to regret this for the rest of your life.” Suna spat, landing another punch directly to his face. “If you have issues with someone, take it up with them like a fucking man.” He growled. “Instead of preying on their little sister. You’re pathetic.”
Suna stood up off the ground and all you could do was watch through squinted eyes and your knees pulled to your chest.
He pulled something out of his pocket, it shined under the street lamps and you weren’t sure what it was. He grabbed Daishou by the collar of his shirt, forcing him to stand up before pressing the object against his throat.
“Give me one reason why I shouldn’t just kill you right here.”
You closed your eyes, covering your face in your arms when you heard Daishou start to sob. He sounded like you did a few minutes ago.
“I’d go to jail for her, no questions asked. Trust me when I tell you that I won’t hesitate.”
Suna was much bigger than him. Stronger. Taller.
“Hey,” Suna growled, pushing him against the brick wall. Daishou looked as light as a rag doll when Suna was throwing him around. “Answer me when I’m talking to you.”
“Please- I don’t- I’m sorry-“ Daishou choked out.
Suna laughed. A completely genuine laugh that made your skin crawl.
“Are you? Are you sorry?”
You looked back up at the two men, closer to you now and you could see that the object Suna had against his throat was a knife.
“Suna, wait-“ You tried to say to him, but your voice was still shaky and quiet.
Daishou was sobbing now, tears flowing from his eyes and wails ripping from his throat.
“Not so tough when you’re the one on the receiving end, huh?” Suna glared, putting his knife back in his pocket and throwing Daishou back onto the ground.
“Get the fuck out of here before I change my mind.” Suna said in a dark, low tone you hadn’t heard from him before. “And if you ever come near her again, I really will kill you.”
Daishou scrambled to his feet, holding his head and trying to stop the bleeding on his face that was surely from one of the rings Suna was wearing on his fingers.
You trembled against the wall, staring at Suna’s back as he watched Daishou leave. As soon as he was out of eyesight, he quickly turned to you and crouched down.
“Hey, it’s okay.” His voice softened, his gaze was kind and he hesitated before touching you. “Can I help you up? Can you stand?”
You nodded weakly and he crouched down, putting his arms under yours and standing you up. You could feel your legs wobbling and held onto his arm for support.
“Ugh,” He sighed, the pain in his voice coming through when he saw the true damage that’d been done to you. His hands carefully put you back together as best he could. He buttoned your shirt and pants back up, and shrugged off his jacket to put it on you instead.
You grabbed onto the sleeves and pulled them over your hands. It was even bigger than your brothers’ jackets, and you sunk into the soft material trying to grasp onto any little piece of comfort you could get.
Suna picked you up and held you against his chest. You wrapped your arms around his neck and he supported you from under your legs.
“How did you know where to find me?” You asked, your voice still quiet and strained.
“They told me what bus you were taking home so I came to make sure you got on okay. When it came and left without you I got worried and looked around, and then I heard you crying.” Suna let out a stressed out breath, “You know, I really would’ve done it.”
“I’m glad you didn’t.” You said, closing your eyes. You couldn’t even process what had just happened and didn’t know what you would’ve done if Suna wasn’t with you right now.
——
Suna’s house was only down the road, and you agreed to go there and get cleaned up before heading back home.
“Here,” Suna handed you a pair of comfortable pants and a t-shirt. “They’ll be way too long on you, but it’s better than your soaking wet clothes you’re wearing now.”
“Thanks…” you accepted the offer, stepping into the bathroom to change.
When you came out, Suna had changed too, but his eyes widened with shock when he saw the extent of your injuries.
He swore under his breath and approached you. When he reached out and touched your neck, his cool hand soothed the sting of the deep bite Daishou had embedded in your neck.
“Can’t believe he fucking bit you.” Suna’s voice was so quiet he was practically whispering, and you weren’t sure if he was talking to you or just thinking out loud. He trailed his hand around your throat and pressed his fingers on the deep bruises forming from when you’d been choked.
“That helps,” you sighed, leaning into his touch. Suna pulled his hand back as if he wasn’t even aware he’d been touching you.
“What do you want to do now? Should we call Osamu and Atsumu? Want me to take you home?” He placed his hands on your shoulders and continued looking you over. Suna brushed your hair out of the way, inspecting your face closely and grunting when he looked straight on at the black eye starting to appear.
You winced when his thumb grazed over the side of your head and he immediately pulled back.
“You were hit really hard. You should go to the hospital.”
You shook your head. “I don’t… I don’t want to go anywhere. Not right now, anyway.” You stepped over to his bed, sitting on the edge. “Can I just lie down?”
Suna nodded and pulled the blankets open, gesturing for you to crawl into his bed. He pulled the blankets on top of you and patted your arm.
“I’m just going to go into the kitchen to get a glass of water. I’ll shut the light off so you can rest a bit.”
The moment you couldn’t feel his presence in the room anymore, your mind travelled back to where you were earlier that night. Being attacked in a dark alley and suddenly you were feeling suffocated.
You sat up, gasping for air and Suna ran in, turning the light on and sitting next to you.
“Its okay, it’s okay,” He murmured, wrapping his arm around you and pulling you into him. He stroked your hair and let you cry out your fear as long as you needed to.
“I don’t…” You sniffled, “I don’t know what happened. When you left I just felt so scared all over again.”
“I’m sorry.” He said quietly, pressing his cheek against the top of your hair.
“Please don’t leave me alone.”
Suna nodded and stood up to go turn the light off again.
“Wait, where are you going?” You felt the panic start to take over again when the bed dipped down beside you.
“I’m right here.” His voice was kind. The Suna you’d known to always tease and annoy you had been replaced by something you could only describe as being your safety net.
Maybe this side of him was always here, and you just hadn’t ever noticed.
You laid back down beside him, moving close and nuzzling into his chest just like you had when he was carrying you. He wrapped his arms around you and softly trailed his hand up and down your back.
“I’ve got you, okay?” He whispered, “You’re safe with me. I promise. Just try and get some rest and we can worry about everything in the morning. You’ve been through enough tonight.”
You nodded and felt the relief wash over you. You knew you had a lot to deal with tomorrow, but having Suna by your side made it seem a little less scary.
Thinking back, he always was by your side. He would defend you when the twins would get too rough, and was definitely guilty of giving guys an intimidating glare when they’d try to hit on you.
You sighed, soaking in the feeling of his warmth.
You knew that from them on, you wanted nothing more than to be on his side.
And for him to stay on yours.

title: second chances (chapter one)
ship: goldenlight (luz x hunter)
notes: takes place sometime after ‘reaching out’ but before ‘hollow mind.’ (set in my standard canon-divergent AU where everything’s the same except no L*mity)
summary: Hunter’s doing his best to get the hang of having Penstagram friends, but there’s still one person in particular he’s hoping to reconnect with . . .
Hunter was propped up in bed that evening, his face buried deep in a book, absorbed in reading about the fascinating worlds of mindscapes. He was so enraptured that when he felt a buzzing in his pocket, he startled with a jerk. Then he remembered the source of the buzzing and retrieved the magic scroll he had carefully tucked away. Cautiously, he opened the scroll and took a peek.
Hello_Willow:
Hey, Caleb. How's it hanging?
His eyes narrowed as he studied the text, and he felt a little spike of anxiety. He wasn't sure what the message meant, and decoding the language that witches used on their magic scrolls was something he was still learning to do. He pecked out a reply on the tiny magic keyboard.
Rulerzreachf4n:
whatdoes thast meean,?
Ugh, the little buttons on the screen were really tiny and incredibly difficult to use. After a few moments, he received a reply.
Hello_Willow:
Just asking how you're doing
He blinked, considering the question. How was he doing?
Hmm. It wasn't really something that he was normally asked. He thought about his day. Most of it had been spent doing rather menial tasks, considering what his rank was. Training drills for the junior scouts, a few dull meetings, some paperwork, a brief patrol. The highlight of the day had been when he saw Kikimora trip in the cafeteria and spill her bowl of bone marrow pudding.
Rulerzreachf4n:
im ok i huess, prettty boring day. howearee you,?
Hello_Willow:
Not too bad. Got my midterm back today and got a perfect score, so I'm pretty happy with that.
Hello_Willow:
Oh also, I think we found a replacement for our team!
Hello_Willow:
For until you can make another game, I mean.
Hello_Willow:
He's pretty great, a bit rusty but a lot of potential, I'm confident we can mold him into a master.
After a brief pause, a photo popped up, showing a skinny boy in Flyer Derby uniform practicing on the field. Hunter studied the image for a moment.
Rulerzreachf4n:
isnthat the kid viney wasd so mad. at?obn the opossing tream?
Hello_Willow:
lol yeah, that's jerbo. she made him take an everlasting oath to remain loyal to our team.
Hello_Willow:
I think the Emerald Entrails are gonna have an amazing season. A shame we'll be missing our powerhouse player for most of it, but I'm sure we'll manage just fine in the meantime 🙂
Hunter spent some time just staring at the message. He was still trying to get used to the idea that other witches actually wanted to talk to him and were nice to him. It was a very alien concept, and part of him was still in disbelief it had happened at all.
Rulerzreachf4n:
goos to hear.good. to hear.
Rulerzreachf4n:
ill be watichng the games and cherringfor you guys
Hello_Willow:
Great! We appreciate the support 🧹 🏆
The text was accompanied with an emoji that looked like a little witch riding a staff, and then a little golden trophy. He had no idea how to make the keyboard produce those little pictures, but it made him chuckle a little when he saw Willow's message.
Setting his scroll down, he leaned further back against the headboard of his bed. He let out a sigh, closing his eyes.
It really had been a very strange couple of days.
Hunter wasn't even sure what to make of it. He had been so incredibly focused on a single goal that day he flew out to Hexside. Nothing else mattered except finding out a way to prove himself worthy of his position, of his title. He was ready to do whatever it took to impress Darius. And then maybe once he impressed Darius, Belos would finally start to see him as useful too. He could make up for all his past mistakes and imperfections.
But along the way, something weird happened. He started to enjoy himself, in his little role as a Hexside student. Actually talking to other witches his age. Getting the chance to do something that was just for fun. Even showing off a little.
He didn't expect to become so invested. He didn't expect to get to know those students, to start caring about what happened to them. They were supposed to just be a means to his ends. Nothing more.
He was so certain. So confident in his position, in his role in life. He was the Golden Guard; the Emperor's right-hand man. Devoted, loyal, unwavering.
And yet, that night, he wavered. Things no longer seemed quite so simple and straightforward. He saw the pain in the eyes of the students he'd hauled in, the pain that he'd put there. And eventually, he stood up for them, shielded them from harm, shielded them from the fate of being bound to the Emperor's Coven.
Everything happened so fast that night, as though he wasn't even sure of what he was doing. His own behavior shocked him. It wasn't like him at all. But he didn't regret it, he realized. Even if Darius had punished him, he would have still done it.
And now, through some bizarre quirk, he had his first real friends. At least, he was pretty sure he did. The gaggle of Hexside students he helped escape could have easily just ignored him and gone back to their lives as usual. And yet, they didn't. They had "followed" him on Penstagram and would send him messages on occasion. They knew exactly what Hunter had done, and yet they still forgave him in the end. Not only that, but they wanted to remain in contact.
Hunter picked up the scroll that was resting on the bed beside him. Flicking through, he brought the page up that had the group photo of their team winning. He smiled faintly, at how happy everyone was, all together in their team uniforms.
"Friends," Hunter muttered, still in awe of such a concept applying to him. With a warm little flutter in his chest, he set the scroll back down and smiled.
But after a few moments, his thoughts strayed to somewhere new.
Friends . . .
His mind flashed to one person in particular. A girl who had occupied his thoughts for many, many weeks, despite all of his efforts to forget about her. He felt the familiar twinge of regret thinking back to her.
I thought you might've been a good guy. But I guess that was just wishful thinking. You're not my friend, you're just the Golden Guard.
It had been such a strange feeling when she'd said it to him, like a knife twisting in his chest. At first, he didn't even understand why it had hurt so much. Why should he care what she thought of him? She was nothing. Just some meddling human who had strayed too far and foolishly blundered into the demon realm.
She was so ridiculous and weird and foolish, running into everything without even thinking. So soft and weak. So . . . strangely good at thinking on her feet and solving problems. So weirdly effective at standing up to him with her own skills. So intriguing and different. So footloose and fancy-free. So wild. So unlike anyone he'd ever met before.
So willing to reach out, even to a person like him.
Hunter had tried to forget about her. But he couldn't seem to shake her from his mind. During the day, it was easy enough. He could occupy his mind with his duties, keep his thoughts disciplined and rigorously in check. At night, though, when the hour grew late and his body was weary, his mind would always wander. And he would think of her.
She was the first person who had ever really tried to understand him sincerely. To treat him like something other than merely a means to some an end or an adversary to defeat. She had treated him like . . . like his thoughts and feelings mattered. That fateful night, he had found himself responding to it, and he'd ended up telling her things he'd never should have, but the words had tumbled out of him anyway. He found himself wanting to trust her. Wanting her to know him. And wanting to know her, too. Perhaps for the very first time, wanting a genuine friend.
He had turned on her though, the first moment opportunity had arrived-- ever the loyal soldier. And so he crushed the opportunity of friendship to dust.
Hunter huffed in disgust at himself, crossing his arms. He laid here now in his room and had the gall to wonder if she still might consider being his friend. To dare have that hope. To think, just because he'd gained friendship with some students who were also her friends, that they might somehow sway her. What a selfish, stupid thing to hope for.
He was better off without her, anyhow. It was just too complicated. She made him question so many things. He'd barely spent any time with her at all, and yet even with the briefest of contacts, she'd somehow gotten into his head and never gotten back out. He was indulging in reading more and more about wild magic, he was bonded to a palisman. He was doubting the ways the Emperor’s Coven was running things, he was questioning and hesitating and even defying the Coven, in small little ways that were adding up.
Hunter pressed his hands against his face, closing his eyes and rubbing them. It was late, and his thoughts were dancing along a dangerous path again like they often did at this hour. Playing back the memories-- the melodic lilt of her laughter, the mischievous glint in her gold-brown eyes, the silly little smile when she'd leaned in and spoke excitedly to him about wild magic.
Could she ever . . . consider him a friend?
"Stop it," Hunter mumbled to himself, trying to extinguish the glimmer of hope flickering inside him.
There was a gentle buzzing sound from beside him.
He leaned back up and picked the scroll up. It was a new message from Willow.
Hello_Willow:
btw I gave your contact info to Luz, hope you don't mind
Hello_Willow:
she was asking about you earlier
Hunter felt all the air exit his lungs. Frantically, his fingers tapped the little keyboard.
Rulerzreachf4n:
wwswaitwhrt
Rulerzreachf4n:
what
Rulerzreachf4n:
ewhat was she askijng?
He stared intensely at the screen as he waited for Willow to type out a reply.
Hello_Willow:
Kinda everything, she freaked out when she learned about our little adventure on wednesday
Hello_Willow:
She wanted me to tell her everything that happened and what I thought of you and everything you said and stuff
Hello_Willow:
oh and she kept asking for the videos of our game
"Uhh," Hunter grunted, trying to keep his pounding heart under control. What did that mean? Did that mean anything? Oh, Titan, was she actually going to contact him?
Rulerzreachf4n:
duid she seem mad ir somejing?
Hello_Willow:
Mad? No, I don't think so
Hello_Willow:
More like, surprised
Ok, ok. Surprised wasn't bad, necessarily. Honestly, it didn't tell him a lot, though. He made a frustrated noise.
Hello_Willow:
Should I not have told her?
He quickly reassured her.
Rulerzreachf4n:
n o its fine,.
After a few minutes, he received another reply.
Hello_Willow:
Ok.
Hello_Willow:
Well I have an early day tomorrow so I'll talk to you later, Caleb
Rulerzreachf4n:
ok
Hunter tried not to let it bother him, but he had more than a little difficulty falling asleep that night.
Next morning, after smacking the tiny demon that acted as his alarm clock to silence it, he grumbled and rolled over, not really feeling keen to leap out of bed at the crack of dawn like usual. A few minutes later there was a buzzing from his nightstand. Tiredly, he reached over to check it.
Hello_Willow:
Good morning!
Hello_Willow:
Clover was looking real cute so I had to share 😊
There was a picture of the little bee creature sleeping in its own tiny bed. He had to admit, it was pretty cute. Not as cute as Flapjack, of course.
Crawling out of bed and stretching, he was about to grab his cape off his chair, but noticed Flapjack curled up adorably inside it. His heart melting, he grabbed his scroll and snapped several pictures.
Then he messed about with the scroll, trying to figure out how to send the photo to Willow. While he was in the midst of trying to work this out, the scroll buzzed and a new message popped up. It wasn't from Willow, though. Hunter opened it.
THEOWLLADY:
Are you good now?
THEOWLLADY:
Is Belos evil?? You can tell me!
THEOWLLADY:
Also hi!
THEOWLLADY:
It's Luz!
Hunter balked, his heart leaping as he read the words, immediately falling into a panic. Oh Titan, it was her, what-- what should he say?
Luz proceeded to bombard him with a series of emoji.
THEOWLLADY:
👻⛈️🌸☘️🌈
THEOWLLADY:
🦖✨🎉💥🦇
He felt his face warm and he quickly grew irritated with himself. This was ridiculous, she was just-- this was-- this was too much, it was too early in the morning for him to deal with this human! And who did she think she was, talking to him like they were old buddies or whatever?
His fingers fumbled as he tried to type.
Rulerzreachf4n:
LEAVE.ME ALONE
In his rush to reply, he accidentally sent the picture of Flapjack to her. Embarassed, he struggled with the keyboard to salvage the mistake.
Rulerzreachf4n:
sORry.wrong.person.,.
A few seconds later (how did she type so fast??) Luz answered back,
THEOWLLADY:
Omg he's ADORABLE!! lookit the cutie wootie lil rascal birbie baby boyy~~~
Hunter glared at the scroll, writing a response.
Rulerzreachf4n:
thaT's NOT His naME1!
Rulerzreachf4n:
hiS nanes is flapjack
He waited for several moments before he received an abrupt reply.
THEOWLLADY:
sorry hunter gtg for now something came up
THEOWLLADY:
talk to u later 😄😄😄
And that was it. He stared at his scroll for a little while, feeling confused and annoyed. Seriously? She was just gonna drop that on him and leave? What was even going through her head?
Hunter's alarm demon started shrieking again, and he jerked in surprise. Reaching over, he whacked it into silence again. Damnit, he always forgot when he left that thing on snooze.
Dropping the scroll, he sighed and rubbed his face. He had things to do, he needed to forget about this nonsense.
He didn't receive another message from her until two days later. It arrived in the early evening, when Hunter had just gotten off his patrol shift. He read it after he'd reached his room and removed his armor and gear.
THEOWLLADY:
Hey Hunter, it's Luz. I wanted to apologize for the other day
THEOWLLADY:
I wasn't really in the greatest mindset at the time I texted you
THEOWLLADY:
And I thought about it later and realized how it probably came off
THEOWLLADY:
probably looked like the only reason I wanted to talk to you was so I could use you for information
THEOWLLADY:
and that was really crappy of me. I'm sorry.
He sat down on the foot of his bed, and the scroll soon buzzed again.
THEOWLLADY:
anyway. willow told me about the whole flyer derby thing.
There was a long pause, the window displaying a series of three dots that indicated she was in the middle of typing. Then, after all that waiting, the message that popped up was rather short.
THEOWLLADY:
you guys looked really cool out there
Hunter gazed at his scroll for a very long time, feeling conflicted and overwhelmed. He had no idea how to proceed with the conversation-- or if he even wanted to reply.
All right, that last part was a lie. Of course he wanted to reply. But with what?
The scroll buzzed in his hands.
THEOWLLADY:
it was nice seeing you look so happy. you have a nice smile
Hunter swallowed, his face growing a little warm. More messages quickly followed.
THEOWLLADY:
anyway aahgain sorry aboutbefore
THEOWLLADY:
I'm gonna go have dinner, see you around I guess
THEOWLLADY:
or not, you're not obligated to answer or anything
THEOWLLADY:
so. yeah. bye
The scroll fell silent after that. Hunter tried for a while to formulate some sort of reply, but eventually he gave up and chickened out. He went back to his evening and tried to put it out of his mind. Somehow, he was able to do so pretty successfully.
Until the hour grew very late. It was 1:20am when Hunter finished his nightly reading and found his mind swimming in thoughts. He stared at the scroll sitting on his bed for a while, internally debating with himself.
Eventually, he reached out and grabbed it, flicking open the messenger window and typing.
He had a little more practice now with the awkward keyboard, so he was able to produce clearer messages, thankfully.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I didnt mean for itn to happen
Rulerzreachf4n:
I was just tryong to recruit some stidents to please my superiors
Rulerzreachf4n:
I dodnt expect it tobe...
Rulerzreachf4n:
kinda fun. didnt expect to get tto know them.
He paused for a moment. He didn't think Luz would be awake at this hour, and honestly, that was a blessing. He wanted to get it all out before he changed his mind.
 Rulerzreachf4n:
Iwas going to turn them in anyway.
Rulerzreachf4n:
except. this time,I realized how stupid I was being.
Rulerzreachf4n:
when i was standing there, looking at them in the cell
Rulerzreachf4n:
at how hurt and betrayed they looked, i remembered the last time Id done that.
Rulerzreachf4n:
how much i s crewed things up.
Rulerzreachf4n:
so I tried to fix it before it was too late.
Rulerzreachf4n:
and. somehow they forgave me. orat least, i think they did.
Rulerzreachf4n:
so i giess I have friends.now.
Rulerzreachf4n:
i guess.whatever that means. im still not sure.
He stopped typing, his mind drifting on recent events. He was so lost in thought that it took him a moment to even realize that the little 'busy' dots had appeared on-screen. His eyes widened. A few moments later, messages appeared.
THEOWLLADY:
I'm glad you finally found some people you could connect with. that's honestly really cool.
THEOWLLADY:
i probably did a pretty lousy job at trying to reach out to you, anyway. but I'm glad you found people you really vibe with.
Hunter felt that now-familiar sensation; guilt and regret twisting in his chest like a knife. In the past, he'd always ignored it, but tonight was going to be different. He wasn't going to ignore it this time.
Before he could think the better of it, he started tapping on the scroll and just kept going.
Rulerzreachf4n:
no, you dont get it. thats not it at all.
Rulerzreachf4n:
titan, you have no idea. i think about that day in latissa so much.
 Rulerzreachf4n:
youre like no one i've ever met before. and. everything changed atfer that day. i .
Rulerzreachf4n:
i started quetstioning everything and.
Rulerzreachf4n:
you were right about the palismen. i was an idiot. they aree alive. they're not just mindless tools.
Rulerzreachf4n:
they have souls. and youre, the first person to make me stop and think like that.
Rulerzreachf4n:
but not just that, the first person i actually....
Rulerzreachf4n:
i dont know, the first one i felt i really wanted to truist and get to know
Rulerzreachf4n:
but i threw it all away like an idiot.
He looked at his own messages, surprised he'd vomited all that information out.
Well. If he was being honest, he may as well go all the way.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I'm sorry. I stole those palismen, i took that key, i did all that stuff just so i could get belos' approval. didnt stop to think about who it was hurting.
Rulerzreachf4n:
it was for the greater good, buit. i didn't even try to figure out if there were other ways to do it., ways that could abvoid hurting others like that
Rulerzreachf4n:
i'm not looking for forgiveness,. I just wanted you to know i'm sorry.
After that, he put the scroll down, deciding he'd better stop before he spilled his guts even more. He hoped Luz would simply ignore him, because that would be the easiest outcome. He'd wake up tomorrow and just go about his day.
However, the scroll buzzed again after a minute or two. He was afraid to look.
THEOWLLADY:
hey so um about that
THEOWLLADY:
you said you threw away your chance to be friends, but.
THEOWLLADY:
what if I just....give you another one?
He stared at the messages, puzzled.
Rulerzreachf4n:
what?
She clarified quickly.
THEOWLLADY:
A second chance at your first friend, you know?
THEOWLLADY:
How's that sound?
He felt his heart squeeze in his chest, but it seemed far too good to be true. People like him didn't get second chances. They didn't deserve them.
Still, after gazing at her texts for a while, he replied with nervous fingers.
Rulerzreachf4n:
do you really mean that?
She answered immediately.
THEOWLLADY:
yeah. I do.
He was tempted to just agree to it; oh, how he was tempted. But he knew things weren't as simple as she was making them to be. Swallowing the bitter feeling in this throat, he carefully wrote out his answer.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I don't think you get it. I'm still the Golden Guard. I can't give that up, I still think Belos is building a better future for everyone. i dont agree with everything he does but. i'm not gonna betray him. Would you still want to be my friend, knowing that?
He waited tensely in silence for her answer. When it came, however, it wasn't what he expected.
THEOWLLADY:
I understand.
THEOWLLADY:
I don't think he has the good of others in mind, but I accept that we disagree on that.
THEOWLLADY:
I won't try to force you to change.
THEOWLLADY:
like, full disclosure, I still will talk about Belos, but I won't try to force you to change your mind.
His brow furrowed as he tried to comprehend her perspective. Was it really that simple? It didn't make a lot of sense to him. How could she consider him a friend when he still was technically her enemy?
He thought about it for a while, and realized the other Hexside students he'd befriended had basically already done the same thing. Perhaps he just didn't understand friendship very well.
Eventually, despite his nervousness over the whole situation, he decided he wasn't going to turn down his second chance. Not this time.
He awkwardly typed out a reply.
Rulerzreachf4n:
ok,well. then i guess..I guess if you really want to. it would be ok with me to. be friends.
The human followed up with an explosion of colorful emoji, the screen scrolling to accomodate all the pictures, before answering with a normal text.
THEOWLLADY:
awesome!! ok so as your new bestie I must tell you that the name of your palisman is the most adorable thing to ever exist ohmygod FLAPJACK I LOVE IT you made his name a PUN and an amazing one!
THEOWLLADY:
seriously. it's so good.
A little thrown off by the sudden topic switch, he took a moment to process.
Rulerzreachf4n:
well I didnt actually name him
Rulerzreachf4n:
he told me that was his na,me
Rulerzreachf4n:
I actuallydont even know what a flapjack is
Rulerzreachf4n:
i asked belos and he said itwas a kind of pancake?
She seemed to be incredibly tickled with this.
THEOWLLADY:
wait seriously?? oh man, hunter, we need to make you some
THEOWLLADY:
when you visit I'll make you some pancakes, they're so good, it's like a human delicacy
THEOWLLADY:
might take me a bit to find the right flour in the demon realm but I know I can do it
Hunter fumbled with the keyboard, typing out,
I cant.really, well. I'm not.
He erased it and started again, flustered.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I cant just go and visit you, people wouldnotice
THEOWLLADY:
Oh right right, sorry, didn't mean to overstep
THEOWLLADY:
No worries, we can do it at some point in the theoretical future when the whole island isnt in the grips of uhhh. all that repressive regime stuff etc etc
THEOWLLADY:
Or hey I can send you the recipe, it's really easy!
Hunter groaned, feeling like he was getting emotional whiplash talking to this girl. He wondered if he would regret agreeing to all of this.
THEOWLLADY:
it's weird that your palisman's named after a human thing though, now that I think about it
THEOWLLADY:
did he tell you anything about his previous witch? were they the one who named him?
THEOWLLADY:
ah crap sorry if that's prying or anything
THEOWLLADY:
I'm just very curious, you can tell me if I'm asking too many questions
The thing of it was, she was right. It was strange, and it had been something he'd wondered about.
Rulerzreachf4n:
When I asked him about his previous witchj, hedidnt want to talk about it
Rulerzreachf4n:
I think it's kind of painful for him to think about.
THEOWLLADY:
oh, I see. that makes sense. most of the palismen the bat queen takes care of probably have some pretty painful memories.
THEOWLLADY:
well, I'm glad he found you. he seems happy.
Hunter smiled faintly, glancing over at the palisman snoozing on his bedpost.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I'm glad too.
After a few minutes, he received a few final messages for the night.
THEOWLLADY:
Well I'm gonna try to get some sleep, but it was nice talking to you.
THEOWLLADY:
See you later, Hunter.
He gazed hesitantly at the scroll, still surprised at how the evening had turned out. Was this something that would actually last? He had no idea.
But in the moment, he decided to be hopeful.
Rulerzreachf4n:
yeah.
Rulerzreachf4n:
I'll see you later.

QUICK! KISS ME! [Bros x Reader]
A lead-up blurb before I go to bed.
School is killing me. This has been in the drafts far longer than I wanted.
No offense if your name is Bethany. It’s a name I picked at random.
The follow-up piece will have the kiss scenarios.
△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽
Some of Asmo’s friends may have used you to get into a special makeup event, but it’s okay! They bought you a lip gloss as a thank you! The shade ‘Sealed with a Kiss’ was not what you thought it’d be
△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽△▽
Being one of the first humans in the Devildom could be uncomfortable and sometimes down-right dangerous! It also had its perks. To you, that meant being close with the Seven Lords of Hell (and Diavolo). To other lesser demons and classmates, you were kind of a ‘get out of jail’ free card.
Were they late to class? Oh, just helping the human out!
Caught sneaking in food or drink when they weren’t supposed to? It’s to split with the human, of course! They thought you’d love to try it!
Everyone was keen not to overuse it and you’d actually made good friends this way. It was starting to feel less like an excuse and more of a way to be included. You were the friendly, reliable human that had won hearts and saved some asses. As a thank you, one of your closer friends (a repeat offender for lateness), invited you out to an exclusive makeup release. She was a VIP member and had early access an hour before the store opened to the Devildom public.
The fact that she chose you, a human, over some LITERAL century-old friends caused a bit of tension but she could care less. “I’ve seen them every day for over a hundred years. You get one year, and we’re going to make it awesome!” Bethany breezed through the store at a dizzying pace, picking through concealers and opening a box of mascara to look at the packaging. She moved at a pace only demons could manage; you thought you saw her by the nail polish display but when you looked again she was throwing sheet masks in her basket. Hooking her arm with yours, she picked up some foundation on the way back to the coveted display of lip glosses and lipsticks.
You weren’t totally versed in the differences between Devildom makeup and human world makeup. In all honesty, there didn’t seem to be a difference. Bethany swatched powdery cream lipsticks on her wrist and followed with ribbons of liquid lipstick. Every now and then she dotted them on your arm; she was adamant about finding a shade the both of you could wear as your thing.
“This one,” she decided, waving the tube at you and booping your nose with it carefully. “This is our color!” she took you by the hand and joined the checkout line. She had two in her hand but refused to let you so much as hold one, wanting to pay for it first. It wasn’t technically breaking the purchase limit rule; if they tried to nag her she’d just say she was holding onto it so another demon didn’t bully you out of it. You didn’t know if it was her VIP status or the fact that her defense made sense, but you were able to check out without a problem.
A few sour faces and mean glares met you outside but Bethany ignored it all, eager to have a Devilgram-worthy celebratory snack break (snack victory? You know, since you got the makeup?) The plan was to eat, hold down a table at the nearby cafe while her other friends shopped, and have group makeovers (or try-ons) before calling it a day. That plan was interrupted three bites into a croissant sandwich when Lucifer summoned you back to the House of Lamentation. He’d gotten wind of all the girls you’d be with and didn’t feel totally comfortable letting you hang out with them,
Had Barbatos seen something? Did Lucifer feel spurned that you weren’t hanging out with the Seven Lords of the Devildom? He gave no answer, simply asking you to stay put while someone came to escort you back to the house. Bethany was put off by the turn of events but few people dared to complain about the Seven Lords due to their connections with Diavolo (she was no exception). “If we can’t get the full makeover, we’re getting the selfie!” she declared, deftly breaking the seal to her Sealed with a Kiss gloss and swiping it on with help from the front-facing camera on her D.D.D
You busied yourself with opening your tube. Before you could ask for her phone (since the camera was already open), she took the tube from you and tilted your chin up. She dabbed the center of your lips playfully before carefully tracing your lips with the color. The heat rose in your cheeks and she smirked. Being part succubus, she could draw energy from emotions like embarrassment and the feeling of being flattered. Her fingertips pulsed under your chin as she drew on that energy.
Getting energy sucked could feel like a lot of things -- being light-headed, getting a rush of excitement, all prickly and tingly like your whole body was pins and needles. Whatever it was, it usually faded into drowsiness and kittenish contentment. She probably only touched your chin for seconds but the wash of coziness had you melting against your chair, your cheek cradled in her palm.
Did she take the pic? What was happening? It felt like Asmodeus had materialized out of thin air, helping you stand and making small-talk with Bethany before pulling you away, out of her aura that was trying to suckle the vestiges of happy energy you offered.
“And what shade did you get on those pretty lips, hm?” the cotton fell out of your head and ears, allowing you to really hear Asmo now that the aura effects had worn off.
“Uh,” you fished around in your bag and looked at the packaging. “Sealed with a Kiss.”
Asmodeus stopped so abruptly it’d almost yanked you back to him. The two of you were barely tangled at the pinkies and now he’d completely laced your hands together. He held your hands captive, drawing them up in surprise and basically dragging you into his torso. You were forced to look up into glittering pink eyes and if you didn’t know any better, they looked a little panicked.
“How long ago did you apply it?”
“I don’t know.” you blinked helplessly at him. That energy suck thing had a way of making your brain tune out and turn to pudding. That aside, who knows how long Asmo stood there and talked to Bethany while you were being siphoned?! “Bethany applied it, not me.”
Asmo clicked his tongue, huffed, resigned himself to only holding one hand. and started scrolling on his D.D.D to find that selfie Bethany posted. You were being dragged along like a child as Asmo’s shoes clicked towards the House of Lamentation. It amazed you how well he could navigate his D.D.D with his long, painted nails.
Whatever he was looking for, he found it.
Asmodeus tucked his D.D.D into his pants pocket, scooped you up in a way that terrified and amazed you (two people being supported by one set of heels?), and flew to the House of Lamentation. He didn’t always use his wings, as he preferred to decorate them and maintain them with oils, but the fact that he was flying made you nervous.
What had he found? What was the deal?
“Asmo--” you started nervously, the flapping of his wings nearly drowning you out as he pushed himself. Flying against the wind didn’t help. Your hair was a mess and the wind was in your face; the Devildom was always a little chilly but now it was enough to make your face tingly.
“She gave you enchanted makeup. There is a reason humans don’t use enchanted makeup.” Asmo’s pretty brows furrowed as he cut a hard angle and glided over a portion of the square. The tell-tale thicket of trees that lined the winding path back to the House of Lamentation were on the edge of the horizon.
“What’s going to happen?” should you ask that? Did you really want to know?
“You’ll feel something in your lips--some people felt tingling, some people felt pulsing, it can be anything, I think--and then they’ll seal shut.”
“SHUT?!” you yelped. It was enough to make Asmo wince. The startle carried over to his wings; they shuddered and locked; the two of you dropped for a heartbeat or two before he corrected himself.
“If I can’t get some makeup remover on it first.” Asmo panted, tucking his wings in and preparing for a quick descent. He wasn’t sure why he hadn’t thought to teleport first--the panic? Trying to one-up Bethany by walking home and being extra cute with hand-holding?--but a quick touch down could roll into a simple skip teleportation and everything should work out!
“But my lips are already tingly!”
“Ugh, Bethany! I can’t believe you! I mean, I can because it’s you, but really, Bethany?”
“Asmo, focus!” you’d already skipped several feet ahead, clearing the front yard in two teleports. The third put you in the foyer. “I don’t want my lips to seal shut!”
The House of Lamentation was huge but when the occupants had supernatural hearing, that exclamation turned heads.
“What’s this about your lips sealing shut?” Lucifer appeared at the top of his stairs, his head already shaking.
“DID YOU MAKE A PACT WITH A WITCH?!” Mammon screamed down the hall, clearly not far behind.
Asmo scoffed, lowering his D.D.D with a pout. He was halfway up the main stairs, fingers working at lightning speed. “It’s the lip color!” he explained, stomping his foot. Noisy people were just so annoying! If everyone was talking he couldn’t explain! How rude!
“All this over some makeup?” skeptical Satan peered over the banister, book and arm casually propped up on it.
“If two people apply the color and kiss, they’re locked in a makeout session until it dries down. When one person applies the lip color, they can use it like a cheat sheet to see who secretly wants to kiss them,” his words tapered out from authoritatively informed to quiet and shy. “It’s from their ‘Liquid Love’ collection.” he muttered into the stunned silence of the room.
You were trying to open your lips and ask why. The magic had already taken hold. Asmodeus could see you trying to move your lips and strain your chin. Luckily, demons could read minds. “It’s because Bethany is stupid.” Asmodeus rolled his eyes. “Ambitious, but stupid.”
“Please explain, Asmo.” even when using the dear nickname Lucifer couldn’t hide the demand. His demon aura was creeping up his body and slowly becoming jagged and suffocating.
“Bethany has had a HUGE crush on our little human here, and wanted to seal it with a kiss, so to speak.” Asmo’s cheeks got pinker and pinker as he explained. Mostly because he was mad he didn’t think about it. His heart did something funny at the thought of you kissing someone else. Lucifer also looked like he wanted to murder someone about now, and Asmo had to remind himself that he was being looked through, not looked at.
“Just grab a napkin and wipe it off.” Mammon shrugged, stuffing his hands in his pockets.
Asmodeus shook his head angrily. “It’s too late now. We need to find someone for them to kiss! Someone’s lips will break the seal on theirs...that’s kind of the point of the enchantment.”
“So they just pick someone to kiss?” Levi’s face was turning tomato red. Would it be him?! It would at least be one of them, right? What if your person wasn’t in the House of Lamentation and you NEVER SPOKE AGAIN?!
“Sort of.” Asmo patted your shoulders with his gentle, smooth hands. He started to rub them like he was trying to warm you up. Partly in encouragement and partly to get your attention because he could feel your brain spiraling down into panic. “They basically follow their mouth.”
“So that lip color is like a crush detector?” Satan abandoned his book at the top of the stairs and was now perusing articles on his D.D.D as he sauntered down the steps. It sounded like he’d found the one that sent Asmo flying to the House of Lamentation.
“Basically.” Asmo sighed. It was the stupidest way to confess to someone, he thought. Demon to demon, it was fine. Demon to human?! NO! The whole thing gave him a headache. The fact that Bethany thought she could just steal your little lips and be greedy with them was the biggest annoyance of it all.
“So,” Satan’s green eyes cut sharply from his phone to you. The corner of his lips curled up in a smart little smirk. He knew it was wrong to find your predicament so funny, but this was a very human thing to get mixed up in. “Who do your lips want? Who do you feel yourself being drawn to?”

hi, can i request something with the obey me boys? mc is intolerant to lactose, maybe fluff and crack 😤 thx
Hello Hello!
This made me laugh so I hope you do too~
Belphegor
You do a good job covering it up so that he doesn’t pick up that anything is wrong.
That is until you keep getting up from Nap Time™ to go to the bathroom.
Annoyed, he asks “Oy MC, what’s wrong?”
Your stomach answers with an angry grumble.
You cover it in an attempt to quiet it’s rumbling. Embarrassed you admit you ate something you shouldn’t have.
He sighs, “Well it’s not like I’m not used to that with Beel. So what was it?”
“The ice cream,” you frowned, “it tasted so good that I ate way more than my lactose intolerant system can process.”
He laughed as your stomach gurgled again, almost like it heard you talking sh!t.
Belphie laughed as you sighed and went to the bathroom again. He made a note to not get dairy before nap time in the future.
Beelzebub
He walked in to see you rubbing your stomach with a deep frown.
“Tummy ache?” He asked as he pulled a pudding out of the fridge.
“Mhmm.”
“Do you want some pudding? Eating always makes me feel better.” Beel offered a spoonful.
“Ah, thanks but I’d eat anything but pudding, that’s what got my stomach upset.”
“Really?” He looked at the package, was this a weird flavor or was it expired?
“I just wanted something sweet and thought maybe I’d be ok but my lactose intolerance strikes again!” You shook an angry fist in the air.
“That sucks, so you can’t have any dairy?”
“I shouldn’t…. But I do anyway,” you smiled mischievously, like you were getting away with something more impressive than making yourself suffer.
Asmodeus
You texted him, “I can’t be around you today.” He took that as a personal challenge.
“Asmo~” you whined through your door, “I told you-”
“But MC!” He was still pounding on the door, “I can’t possibly be without you allllll day.”
“I’m dealing with something so you have to go away.”
“I can help!” Asmo proposed, “Whatever it is, I can help, I’d be happy to help!”
“It’s embarrassing,” you mumbled but he still caught it.
“All the more reason for me to help, I want to know all the most intimate details about you.”
You opened your door in a flustered state, “Stop it!” You looked down the hall, no one else was around which was a miracle considering the racket Asmo was causing. “I’m really gassy today from eating that creamy pasta dish at lunch. Is that the intimate detail you wanted to know??”
“MC, you should have come to me first! I have just the thing!” He pulled you out from your room towards his.
Satan
You didn’t have the heart to tell him it was his fault for the state you were in now.
Your stomach hurt as it bloated from the dairy in the drink he had ordered you. It wasn’t his fault, you hadn’t told him of your dietary needs nor had he been around to hear you order a drink with the necessary substitution.
He did note your frown, “Is something wrong?”
“What, of course not!” You chirped, taking an exaggerated drink from the coffee cup.
“Is it the drink? Is it not to your liking? I thought you liked coffee?”
“I do!” You defended, “It’s just the milk doesn’t agree with me.” On cue, your stomach growled loud enough for Satan to hear. Both of your eyes widened in shock and when you looked away he laughed.
“I’m sorry, I didn’t realize you were intolerant of dairy. You really shouldn’t keep drinking that then,” he leaned over to take the cup away but you shielded it.
“But it tastes good, except for the milk, you knew exactly what I like!”
He laughed again as he snatched the cup from your shield, “Then I’ll get you a replacement, sans milk.”
Leviathan
You could just die right now, that would be helpful, god.
A terrible silence had settled over you and Levi. The longer it went on, the more embarrassed you were. The fact that you just passed gas in front of him is actually killing you more than your stomach cramps were.
Then your stomach decided to grumble. You think, “God, why have you cursed my bowels?”
When you looked at him, he was just as shocked and embarrassed, his face bright red. “A-are you ok?”
“Ugh, yeah, I’m gonna go,” you got up from the beanbag trying to escape as quickly as possible without another incident.
He stops you, “D-do you n-need anything? I can get you medicine if you need.”
It was sweet of him to offer even though he was clearly unsure what to do. “No, but thank you. I’m just lactose intolerant and should NOT have had that pizza.”
“Oh! Well if that’s all, it’s ok, you should stay.” He was totally relaxed again, he caught your confused face and shrugged, “Sorry, I didn’t know what was happening for a minute there. Human digestion is weird.”
“You can say that again,” and you happily plopped back down on the beanbag.
Mammon
He stopped dead in his tracks when he heard a low rumble. He was the only demon around so who was growling? Mammon looked back at you.
With a sheepish smile you waved.
“Was that you?”
“My stomach, yeah, sorry.”
“Geez,” he charmingly offered.
You punched his arm when he sat back down next to you. “It’s your fault!”
“My fault?!”
“Yeah you got that milkshake for me!”
“What does that have to do with your stomach growling at me?”
“Technically, I can’t have milk.”
“Well why didn’t you say that instead of taking the milkshake??”
“Because it was strawberry and that’s my favorite!”
After a beat, you both started laughing.
Lucifer
Diavolo invited the two of you over to taste a selection of wine for the next event. Barbatos had prepared some snacks, among which were cheeses, fruits, and crackers.
As soon as you were home, you were rushing to the bathroom. Lucifer watched on with a raised eyebrow. When you didn’t come back right away, he followed you to the bathroom. He knocked gently, “Everything ok?”
“Yup! Be done in a second!” He sat and waited. He figured maybe you had too much to drink.
When you exited and found him waiting, you blushed slightly, “Sorry for running off like that.”
“No, it’s quite alright. Are you feeling ok?”
“Yes, better now. I really should know my limit but with such a fine selection in front of me it was too tempting and I ended up overdoing it.”
“Yes, Lord Diavolo does not hold back when selecting the drinks for his parties, only the best of the best.”
“Drinks?” You thought for a second, “Oh yes the wines were exquisite but I was talking about the cheeses. I’m lactose intolerant so I shouldn’t have any but Barbatos did not pull any punches with his selection tonight.”
Once Lucifer recovered, he sighed and shook his head.

Summary: Beel eats some cursed candy
You walked into the kitchen to no less pandemonium than you were used to dealing on an average day.
Still, the way Satan and Belphie stopped their hissed argument and turned to look at you with wide eyes was almost as telling as the sight of Beel sitting on the floor, shoulders slumped miserably, his form many times smaller than it should be.
"Hey, boys," you greeted, walking casually towards the fridge. "What'cha doing?"
"Ugh, for a second I thought it was Lucifer at the door," Belphie replied, though he didn't look much relieved.
"'m hungry," Beel piped in his little kid voice. He was swamped in his clothing, now comically large on him, but the way he wrung his hands in front of his stomach was all too familiar.
"Uh-huh," you said, opening the fridge and digging in the back. "I take it the kiddie curse was for Lucifer?"
"We ordered some cursed candy off Akuzon," Satan admitted. "We were trying to figure out how to make Lucifer eat them when Beel came along and--" He gestured helplessly to his younger brother, now emphasis on the younger.
You crouched down to hand Beel the pudding you'd found in the fridge. His face brightened immediately, and he peeled off the lid, and upended the whole thing into his mouth.
"Can I have more?" Beel requested almost immediately, turning his unusually potent puppy dog eyes on you.
"Aw, honey," you cooed, "I'll fix you an early dinner, how about that?"
"Early dinner?" Beel's eyes grew even wider with excitement. "I like that. And then the regular dinner after, right?"
"Now you're putting ideas into his head," Belphie muttered.
"Hush and go find him some clothes that fit," you said instead.
"I'm going to research this curse," Satan said, slipping out of the kitchen before he could be drafted into any other task.
Belphie sighed, trying very hard to look put-upon, but he extended his hand, and Beel took it, letting himself be lifted to his feet. His shoes were too big now as well, and his pants were so long that the pant legs trailed, so Belphie picked him up in his arms instead.
"Huh," Belphie said, settling Beel on his hip. "Being the one to carry Beel instead is a new experience."
Beel was no larger than a normal child around the age of seven or eight, even though as an adult he managed to tower over everyone else. But now, skinny and pre-pubescent as he was, he seemed all the more fragile for it. Also cute. Unbearably cute. He clung to Belphie's shirt with little fists just barely poking out through the hanging sleeves, and Belphie seemed to melt inside just a little bit. Not that Beel wasn't usually adorable in his own way, but this--just like Beel--took the cake.
"Let's go get you some clothes," Belphie said, patting Beel's back.
"But what about early dinner?" Beel asked, peering at his brother from under his mop of orange hair.
"We'll be back for it, don't worry."
Just like that, you were on dinner duty. It wasn't even your turn that day, you were pretty sure it would have been Satan's, but it was safe to say Satan had more urgent things to do right then, so you considered your dinner shifts officially switched.
You were just setting a pot to boil when Beel came back, bare feet slapping against the kitchen tiles. Shoes his size would have been an unlikely find, but he now at least wore a pair of shorts that were big enough to double as pants on him, and--
"Is that my T-shirt?" you asked, because you recognized the band logo on it.
"Belphie said you wouldn't mind 'cause nobody else has shirts small enough except maybe Asmo and he doesn't want to put me into anything Asmo would give us anyway," Beel said in one long breath.  Still, even your T-shirt was a bit big on him.
Beel's nostrils flared as he rose to his tiptoes, trying to see what was boiling on the stove.
"Hey, sit here," you said, grabbing him under his arms and scooping him up onto one of the stools next to the table. "I made you some fried roc eggs to tide you over until the rest of the food is ready." You pushed the plate with four sunny egg-yolks in front of him, provided him with a fork and a few slices of bread, and turned back to cooking.
Beel had already finished his eggs, using the last of the bread to wipe the plate clean of every drop of yolk, when Belphie finally made his appearance, trailing into the kitchen with sleepy eyes.
"I'm still hungry," Beel said, his voice turning to a whine easier in his little kid voice.
Belphie eyed his plate. "Didn't you just eat?"
"It wasn't dinner, it was just to tide me over," Beel explained.
Belphie looked over at you, assessed your progress, and sighed.
"You'd think," he said, "that being smaller meant he'd eat less, wouldn't you?" Belphie muttered.
"Oh, not at all," you replied. "He's a growing boy now."
Belphie's gaze slid to Beel, who was eying the plate like he was about to try eating it too, so he ruffled Beel's head vigorously. Beel made a squeaky sound of protest.
"I guess if Satan doesn't find a cure for the curse we could let him grow up the old fashioned way," you suggested with a snicker.
"No," Belphie shook his head, almost swaying on his feet, "he's very cute, but raising a child is too much work."
"I'm hungry," Beel complained, looking up at Belphie plaintively.
"Ugh," Belphie muttered, "Way too cute. He might actually eat us out of house and home looking like this." But then he went and scrounged the cupboards for snacks.
You agreed that Belphie might have a point. Still, you took out your D.D.D. and took some photos. Beel was worth a whole album right then.

nobara walks into the kitchen at midnight.
she’s not expecting anyone there, except maybe gojou-sensei, with his sunglasses reflecting the bluish light of the fridge in much the same way animals’ eyes glow in the dark, as he crams spoons and spoons’ worth of ice cream into his infinite, gaping maw like some sort of feral cat high on road fumes and catnip. she hears someone humming as she approaches, however, scratchy and just a little bit off-key.
she stops in the doorway, but it’s not gojou-sensei she sees by the dim light of the fridge.
instead, it’s itadori and fushiguro, slow dancing together in the dark.
“ugh.” she rolls her eyes, scrunches her nose, and sticks her tongue out in disgust as she flicks on the light. “gross. people in love.”
the boys spring apart-- well, it’s more like fushiguro pushes itadori away and onto the ground-- and while itadori laughs, fushiguro clears his throat and shuffles away from the fridge. (nobara grunts, pushing itadori away with the refrigerator door so that she can have a better look at the available selection of puddings.)
“it was yuuji’s idea,” fushiguro claims, looking off to the side with his arms crossed.
“haaaah?” itadori scrambles to his feet and (from the sound of it) pounces on the other boy. “that’s not true! megumi, you were the one--”
the contents of the fridge rattle as nobara slams the door and walks away with her pudding.
