Good news if you have a low income and a high internet bill: The Biden Administration is changing that.

The Affordable Connectivity Program will provide plans of at least 100 Megabits per second of speed for no more than $30. An estimated 48 million Americans will qualify.

Twenty internet providers, including national companies like AT&T, Comcast and Verizon, as well as regional companies, such as Hawaiian Telecom and Jackson Energy Authority in Tennessee, have committed to the program.

Update: The program also gives eligible families a $30 monthly benefit they can apply to their bill. It can be one of the $30 plans at the 20 participating providers (bringing the bill to $0!) or used against the bill at 1,000+ other providers.

My last post lost traction, and I’m still in desperate need of help. On November 21st, 2023, my father who I cared for and my cat passed away in a house fire while I was at an appointment. hi everyone <3 things are looking up! new job has been acquired and it's a dream come true, and i'm still on the lookout for potential part-time stuff i can do, plus i'm working on selling some stuff that i can for some extra cash around!

unfortunately, until money does start coming in, i'm still in a really precarious situation and what i have from family help has gone into bills, and keeping the kitty fed and well. when it comes to me, i've been working on learning how to make pasta and bread by hand to save up but now even flour's run out.

there's far more important things happening in the world right now than me struggling financially, and i urge anyone who has the means to to check out these links to help palestine first and foremost!

I messed up.

I miscalculated by a lot and my bank account is suddenly negative, even after my paycheck.

I somehow need to find 700$ for rent, plus i need to get some groceries and my meds. And I need something for ubers when I get out of work too late for the bus.

I'm waiting on approval for food stamps, I'm doing the best I can given my circumstances. I'm picking up as many extra hours as I can.

Please please please help me out. I would appreciate literally anything. Sharing this helps a lot in itself.

4/22/24 - Update/Newish Post

It's been a busy week, but I no longer have a mobile hotspot I can use at the shelter, so I'm redoing the post on the pinned post.

So last week I had the county share my County of San Diego Section 8 housing application (which I've been waiting on for 17 years) with the City of Oceanside Housing Office, which is the city I currently have a three bedroom house waiting for me if I can get on their Section 8 list. So we're still waiting to hear if they'll bump me up on the Oceanside list, but yeah. That's where housing currently stands.

What I primarily need help with is bills. I have a $500 loan and a $300 loan coming out May 2nd. I have some assorted PayPal 4 in 4 payments coming out as early as the 26th that I need to cover (totaling at least $700 to get Mr paid off or through to when I'll have money). I have a few credit cards of my mom's that need to be paid or are close to being paid off, and that's at least $350.

I'm going to set the goal at $2,000 because, fingers crossed, if I can pay these last few things off I'll have money to put towards gas, food, Lena's glasses and other essentials without having to take out loans next month at all. So any help would be much appreciated!

please im begging this is incredibly urgent. the people that have allowed us to stay for the last two nights put my wife through an incredibly traumatic experience and she’s scared to leave the room without me to get food or even go to the bathroom and we have to keep the door locked at all times. we really need help right now, we have a plan but nothing that can happen for another week. please anything to help us get by we have no money and are trapped.

This is always really hard to do but I've been going through really difficult times these last few months and it would help if you could donate here

I have a temporary place to stay but I've been homeless since April 1st. Alot of places near me have rent in the $700 to $1,000+ area which is massively outside my range (the only one I've seen in my price range had no ac 😭 it's already hit 80°f this spring)

I've been working with different resources to help find housing and support (such as SNAP) but they take time. It's been so much these past three months and I'm starting to burn out.

I'll be putting donations towards costs such as: my monthly storage rental, groceries (snap pending), medicine, doctor appointments, security deposit when I find a potential apartment, and filling my car up with gas.

i hate to do this, but i need help.

as you all know, i went on a hiatus for quite some time due to a new school year starting + having to take care of my sick mom. during this time, me and my family were struggling heavily financially due to my parents both being out of work and I, unable to find a job.

this week, my mom passed away after a long battle with cancer. im still grieving over her death that i wasn't expecting to happen so soon. after all the expenses for the medicines, funeral, and burial, we're extremely low on money and im left with no choice but to disconnect all subscriptions and services including wifi.

unfortunately, i cannot afford to pay the remaining balance + a termination fee for the wifi subscription since its on a 36 month contract that i can no longer pay for.

the remaining balance is ₱5,098 while the termination fee is ₱5,097 which equates to ₱10,195 (in philippine pesos).

which means i just need roughly around $200 to pay off the bill.

there's no one i can ask for help and this is my last resort. if i dont pay this by the end of november, the bill will only get higher. i know these are trying times for everyone so i understand if you're unable to donate but if you can, please reblog and share this so anyone who's able to can help!

My entire life was turned upside down 3 months ago when I came home from therapy to my house on fire and my dad whom I’ve cared for the last 5 years and my cat dead. I am a disabled, non binary individual waiting for the necessary test results and documentation to receive disability. In the mean time, I am staying with my disabled mother. hey everyone! i want to first off thank everyone for your support bc it's meant a lot to me throughout this whole shitshow <3 in better news too, for everyone following the last 4 months of my life and how shitty those have been, i've been grinding my butt off over on twitch and i'll be eligible to get paid next month! not an insane amount, by any means, but enough to cover some bills which i'm so excited about because it means things are turning around.

as of right now, shit's still pretty rough and there's no way to get an advanced payout so i'll have to wait until the 12th for that. i've sold pretty much everything i could sell that i own, and i've been doing some odd translation jobs but it just hasn't even remotely come close to something livable for me. i have around 20€ to my name and that's because a friend was kind enough to help me.
