All for one. One for all.
While Thatcher's lore is still in it's early stages I've always envisioned that Thatcher has a brother. So instead of a building a new character from scratch, I recycled (and touched up) the m!thatcher file I made for febhyurary to give her a twin brother - Flint.
Quick lore drop: Orphaned as younglings due to the Calamity, Thatcher and Flint had to fend for themselves on the streets of Ul'dah. Growing up, Thatcher admired the paladins that protected the people and the city, and so began training as a gladiator to one day become a paladin. Since they were children Thatcher was seen as the favorite child (she was the oldest twin, bright, obedient, and a kind heart) and it made Flint bitter towards his sister. Flint preferred a rich life with easy gains, and so he turned to thievery and became a feared thug of the streets. He would eventually grow a reputation which prompted him to flee to the New World, leaving his family name and sister behind.
#once again i must state that i am not good at writing.. i can make bullet points with ideas annddd that's about it#but i’m trying to be more confident in my writing and hope to post lore of my ocs here :)#i give my immense thanks to my bff mara/sin for always listening to my ramblings#giving me ideas and even birthing the name Flint (while i was watching treasure planet! shall i say - meant to be?)#anyway idk how much more i will build on flint's lore but he's def an important part of thatcher's life#as she always wanted to protect him and keep him safe. it's part of why she wanted to be a paladin to begin with#she understood why he left but prays every night that he's safe and hopes one day she will see him again#enough rambling for today! to be continued#ffxiv gpose#thatcher rose#flint thorne#ffxiv#ff14#elvashade

#personal stuff#thorn plays genshin#man.#yeah. figured it would be something along those lines. but still. :(#interesting that it happened where it did! i thought that spot looked a little empty#going to miss him. good for him though.#glad they never showed us his face in full but showed us he's always had great hair instead!!#anyway LOVE how freaky they made ronova look. oh my god. cool as hell#also continuing butterflies as death symbolism!#the happy ending for natlan IS going to make me cry btw. they don't have to live in the shadow of the abyss... they can travel too...#mualani and kachina talking about where they want to go... waugh..#WAUUUGH. the complete turnaround from paimon. saying she's ready to start iansan's training plan#''if anything like this ever happens again i want to fight by the traveler's side!'' WHAT IF I CRY. PAIMONNN#also. we're at the end now and i was waiting for it so.#all that talk abt xilonen dying to create our ancient name led up to absolutely nothing. what was that for. it didn't even get mentioned#in terms of the future though. we're headed to nod-krai specifically chasing after dottore's subordinates who have the moon fragments#wdym they have a power there that predates the seven elements. what.#oh my god i went back to the throne. the music changed. collapses to my knees#really cool concept for the traveler's constellations. i thought it would just be like. consumable items.#but no you take them to the lord of night...#nice that they give us a little cutscene of us paying our respects each time#and we get to reread each flint's story!

How does Robb feel about lord flint ??
Robb honestly will think the best of him. He has no reason why to believe this man is untrustworthy. Lord Flint has saved not only his life but also his wife’s on more than one occasion.
He has no idea of Lord Flint’s feeling for Maeve, but there’s no need to worry since Lord Flint wouldn’t out act on those feelings.

Mamaceqtaw tattooing tool, early 20th century This wood handled tool with metal tines lashed to the tip was made and used by Mamaceqtaw (Menominee) people in what is now Wisconsin during the early 20th century. Today it is in the collection of a museum as part of a larger toolkit that also includes charcoal used as a base for tattoo ink, and a ceramic sherd used as a surface for mixing and holding pigment. One historical account notes that Mamaceqtaw tattoo pigment included “bear gal,” a mixture of birch bark charcoal and roots of skunk cabbage, deer’s ear, red top, and others plants.
Archaeological research from elsewhere in eastern North America has shown that bone points were used for tattooing before the introduction of metal needles, while traditional knowledge also recalls use of fish teeth, thorns, porcupine quills, and flint. By the time this tool was used, tattooing among the Mamaceqtaw was primarily medicinal, and used for treating muscle and joint pains and headaches. reposting from Aaron Deter-Wolf (Tennessee Division of Archeology)

A Spell for Every Mood
Tiny spells crafted for every feeling — a charm for when you’re overwhelmed, a blessing for when you’re hopeful, a whisper of magic for when you don’t know what you need.
Let these words wrap around your mood like a second skin, soft or sharp, healing or wild.
• Overwhelmed:
“With breath steady and mind clear, I untangle the threads of chaos around me.”
• Hopeful:
“I plant my wishes in the rich soil of tomorrow; may they bloom without fear.”
• Vengeful:
“By mirror and thorn, let justice find its sharpest path.”
• Lonely:
“I weave a silver thread from heart to heart, unseen but unbroken.”
• Joyful:
“With every step I take, may the earth hum with laughter under my feet.”
• Anxious:
“I press my hand to my chest and anchor myself to the steady pulse of the earth.”
• Grieving:
“I offer my sorrow to the river, trusting it will carry it somewhere softer.”
• Inspired:
“I strike a flint in the dark, and welcome the fire of new creation.”
• Tired:
“I drape the night’s velvet over my shoulders and surrender to its quiet magic.”

Detention Hearts ❤️
Prompt: You gonna glare at me all day or actually do your job?” Melissa throws you a smirk across the teachers’ lounge, her tone sharp as always. You shoot back, “Why do you care? You’re always in my business anyway.”
WC: 2k
Pairing: Melissa Schemmenti x GN!Reader (2nd-person POV)
Rating: T (mild language, flirty tension)
Genre: Enemies to Lovers, Slow Burn, Banter, Romantic Comedy
You’re not even fully in the lounge when her voice cuts through the air like a serrated knife.
“You gonna glare at me all day or actually do your job?”
You roll your eyes before your feet even cross the threshold.
Melissa Schemmenti—redhead, attitude machine, and general thorn in your side—throws you a smirk from her seat by the coffee pot. She’s perched like a damn queen, one leg crossed over the other, her usual black cardigan hanging off her shoulders like she’s in a mafia film and the school is her turf.
“Why do you care?” you shoot back. “You’re always in my business anyway.”
She snorts. “Please. I just happen to notice when you’re slacking. That’s not my fault. Maybe if you did more teaching and less brooding, the kids wouldn’t call you ‘Mr. Moody’ behind your back.”
“Or maybe they’d stop if you stopped feeding them nicknames.”
“You give yourself too much credit, sweetheart.”
You bristle at the word. She always says it like it’s both an insult and a dare.
⸻
The truth is, you and Melissa have been dancing this line since your first week at Abbott. You’re the new-ish hire—idealistic, progressive, fresh out of a fancy urban education fellowship. You believe in laminated lesson plans, collaborative circles, and positive reinforcement.
Melissa believes in street smarts, tough love, and yelling louder than the kids.
From the moment you met, sparks flew. Not the romantic kind. The friction kind. Like flint on steel.
And today? Today is just more of the same.
You plop into the seat across from her and reach for a donut on the counter. She swats your hand before you touch the box.
“Uh uh. Those are for the sixth graders. Fundraiser.”
You arch a brow. “Then why are you eating one?”
She shrugs, powdered sugar on her lip. “I’m part of the community. You’re just visiting.”
The other teachers titter under their breath. Barbara gives you a knowing look before sipping her tea. Janine mouths, Just ignore her, but you’re too far gone for that.
“You really wake up and choose chaos, huh?”
Melissa leans back and grins. “I wake up and choose to deal with amateurs. Chaos is just the bonus.”
⸻
It’s later that week when Principal Ava pulls both of you into her office.
“My two favorite coworkers who pretend not to hate-love each other.”
You both say at the same time:
“We don’t.”
She ignores you.
“So here’s the deal. The district wants us to run a weekend mentorship program for at-risk kids. And lucky me—I volunteered you two.”
You blink. “Wait, us?”
Melissa’s eyes narrow. “You’ve got to be kidding.”
Ava smiles wide. “I’m never kidding. Now go be role models before I change my mind and assign you to locker-duty during prom.”
⸻
Saturday morning arrives with rain and regret.
The gym smells like floor polish and faint despair. You’re stacking folding chairs when Melissa walks in, her red hair pulled into a messy bun, hoodie zipped up, eyes scanning the room like she’s casing it for weaknesses.
She stops when she sees you.
“Oh good. You’re early. Didn’t know punctuality was in your skill set.”
You sigh. “Can we try to not fight today?”
She smirks. “What would be the fun in that?”
The kids trickle in—ten of them, middle schoolers mostly, each carrying more emotional weight than any twelve-year-old should. One boy won’t take off his headphones. One girl keeps staring at the floor. Another won’t speak above a whisper.
Melissa doesn’t flinch.
She walks in like she belongs there and starts passing out granola bars like she’s done this a hundred times.
You watch, stunned.
And that’s the first crack in the wall.
⸻
By noon, the kids are laughing.
You ran an art activity. Melissa taught them how to play blackjack with math problems instead of chips.
She’s surprisingly gentle with them. Sharp, yes, but careful. Her sarcasm wraps around the room like a blanket, not a blade.
You sit on the bleachers beside her while they eat lunch.
She nudges your knee with hers.
“You did good, Rookie.”
You glance at her. “That supposed to be a compliment?”
She shrugs. “Take it how you want.”
A silence falls—not uncomfortable, but unfamiliar. She taps a cigarette box against her palm, but doesn’t light one.
“You really care about them, huh?”
You nod. “Of course I do.”
She doesn’t look at you, but her voice softens.
“Yeah. I can tell.”
⸻
A few weeks pass.
The mentorship program continues.
And something… shifts.
You still argue—God, you argue—but now it feels less like a battle and more like a sport. A sparring match with unspoken rules.
And in between the jabs, there are moments. Glances. Lingering words.
Like the time she brought you an espresso before a staff meeting and muttered, “You looked like death. Don’t read into it.”
Or when you defended her in front of the district rep and she smiled at you like you’d just carved her name in a tree.
Or when a kid asked if you two were dating and she didn’t immediately say no.
⸻
One afternoon, you stay late to help her hang decorations for the mentorship showcase.
You’re on a ladder, fighting with a string of lights, when you hear her say:
“You always been like this?”
You glance down. “Like what?”
She leans on a desk, eyes following your every move.
“Trying too hard. Caring too much. Getting under people’s skin.”
You smirk. “Are you admitting I get under your skin?”
“Don’t push your luck.”
You hop down from the ladder, landing a little too close.
There’s a beat.
Then she says:
“You ever think about leaving? Abbott, I mean.”
You blink. “Why?”
She shrugs. “You’re young. Smart. Probably got offers somewhere shinier. Safer.”
You pause.
Then: “I stay because of the kids. And… because of people who surprise me.”
Her gaze sharpens. “You mean me?”
You smile. “Would it make your ego feel better if I said yes?”
She steps closer.
“Maybe.”

So what do we think Mr. Martin is lying about this time regarding the fire?
His story is: I contemplated suicide but I changed my mind last minute and tried to clear the gas from the room. Janet walked in carrying a flint torch from another chemistry test. It was an accident caused by a moment of despair on my part and poor timing. I need Janet’s forgiveness to move on from accidentally killing her.
Except: He has never once before given an accurate recounting of that day. Including to Janet. When he met Rhonda, he offered the lie first that Janet died in some other way. Janet says he did it to protect her. Protect her from what? Rhonda’s already dead, and I doubt "chemistry fire" would have thrown up a flag for her -- it happened 6 years before Rhonda died, so she could have known already/heard in middle school. Seems like a risk to make up another death, tbh. It also seems Janet believes Mr. Martin was protecting Janet’s reputation (?) because she had “caused” the fire from Rhonda?
Why has Janet been made to think that “causing the fire” is a bad thing to have come out. It was an accident, right?
Janet felt this need/appreciated his "reputation management" with Rhonda without realizing that Mr. Martin has been lying to her since the second they died. She clearly did not know that he was contemplating suicide and that’s why the gas was in the room. After Dawn crosses over and Janet is mentioned in the support group, Mr. Martin gives another big ole lie about the fire (A lie that, coincidentally, makes him look like a hero):
The day I died, I made a mistake. I turned my back on a student for a split second, and there was an error, a fatal error. There was a fire. I managed... I managed to save my class, but not myself. Doesn't that make you a hero then? A martyr? It wasn't even your fault. I was the teacher. I should have been paying closer attention. I should have known what was going on. Instead my... my students had to live with the memory...Of seeing... seeing all that.
Seeing what? If you were closing the windows to open the gas valves and count in your watch, your students weren’t in the room, Mr. Martin. You’re lying for the fun of it at this point. And when fiiiiinally confronted with the "truth" and wrath of the ScaryScoobyGang, Mr. Martin says “I didn't know you were testing flint torches and you would light a flame!” Well, goddamn, Everett, how was she to know you were flooding a room with gas?
And, the closest to a first-hand source we have is Eugene Bergstrom who says:
No. I know for a fact that Janet's father is the reason Mr. Martin was fired. I overheard them talking about it the day after... The day after she died. The police don't believe me, but I know in my bones Mr. Martin started that fire on purpose. He wanted revenge. He killed her.
Mr. Martin says: "The school district had, had been looking for a reason to get rid of me. They said I was a thorn in their side. And all it took... was one phone call from Reverend Hamilton, and they sent me packing." And that this was also enough for Alice to leave him because she couldn't see a future with him -- dunno about you, but my man losing one job wouldn't make me turn him down immediately. There is a pattern of something with him.
Why was he a thorn in their side? Why were they already looking to boot him? I get Janet's dad made the call, but more than Janet's father protesting led to his firing.
What was it?
What part is he leaving out or twisting yet again?
#dude I dunno but I know he's a lying liar who lies#school spirits spoilers#school spirits#janet hamilton#mr martin#rhonda rosen

A Shrike to Your Sharp and Glorious Thorn
Pt. 1
Pairings: Dennis Whittaker x Fem!OC, (Robby x Abbot) - ish
Warnings: Medical inaccuracies, swearing, i am really not sure please let me know if there is soemthing
word count: 3.17k
Synopsis: Dr. Drew Elio, propelling herself in the world of medicine as a prodigy that has definitely created a name for herself. Runs into poor little owl boy trying to make it far, too many times during her shift. caught in trying to care for one emotionally constipated man while his husband is not around, doing her job, escaping the med students and intern, and being really confused about this poetic feeling in all four chambers of her heart that she only gets around owl boy?
Authors note: Ok I’m doing an OC I am so sorry. I literally beg for your forgiveness. One day I’ll write an x reader but that is not today. I also struggle to write in first person. OC uses she/they pronouns. And yeah woopdi doo i change the scenes up a bit. sometimes i got to do it so OC is in it instead of someone else and she’s her own character so her responses wouldn’t match what would happen. also i am so sorry if y’all had expectations for something greater. literally my first fanfic. and chapters will be slow and so unpredictable. i put my entire labia minora into this, i don’t want to see any hate. leave me be. i apologise in advance for anything else i forgot to apologise for. also i physically cannot guarantee how often this will be updated at all. also thank you for all the love and support on my inquiring about this
The blaring noise of a second alarm snapped Drew out of their trance, eyes pulled from the ceiling rolling over to look at her alarm. The 6:00 lasered into her retinas force her to pathetically drag the duvet off themselves, cool late summers breeze washes over her legs. The thirty minutes since her first alarm had rushed by her, caught in her own head.
They lazily wander through their morning routine; shower, hair, teeth, scrubs. Throwing on their favourite green hoodie, slinging their prepacked bag over their shoulder, and putting on their headphones, Drew begins her routinely wander to work.
The sunlight was bleeding over the horizon, the shadows that had overcome the streets were slowly fading away. This time of the day had always been Drews favourite, the cautious moments between immense anxiety and just observing; it warmed her up for the day ahead, gave her a chance to envision all the possible cases.
Drew had always been obsessed with the way everything worked, but the day she knew medicine was for her still stands stark in her mind. It was a drowsy winters day, and children scrambled all over the schools pitch. Drew was playing a game of soccer like any 7 year old would be. She had already skipped three years of school, so the kids she was playing with seemed like giants. Puddles had formed on the oval, mud taking over the once grassy space. One of the boys goes for a dodgy slide tackle, not a single sign of it seeming like it would go well. The boy slips prematurely going straight through the other kids ankle, toppling over but his ankle is caught in the boys legs, his knee starts twisting strangely. All of a sudden the kid is wailing on the ground, grasp caught around his knee. As teachers swarmed over, Drew’s eye stayed caught on the hidden knee waiting for his hands to unclasp, curiosity swarming deep in her stomach. As he’s hands let go, Drew peeking through the teachers legs sees the state of his knee, flint had just hit steel.
Now the fire had been in full blaze for years. Even though her job was grueling and the emotional effects were definitely questionable, there was the same excitement that bubbled in her chest since med school. She wanders into the hospital, the effervescence now bleeding into her veins. Breezing through the entry doors and weaving through people in the w, Drew finally makes it into the ER. Headphones still on she breezes past the nurses station, sending a nod to Dana.
Placing her stuff into their dedicated spots in her locker. Her headphones remained on for a few more moments, preparing herself for the next twelve hours. Finally taking them off she swaps them for her nalgene drink bottle, stickers splayed all over.
Drew wanders back to the central station where Dana’s finishing handoff from night shift.
“Hey sweetpea.” Dana’s voice brings Drew comfort. From her first shift at the Pitt, Dana has always been like a cool breeze on a hot summers day.
“Hey D, where’s Robby?” Drew’s eyes dart around the ER after shooting Dana a warm smile. They had gotten to the point where pleasantries were unnecessary, but also it didn’t feel right to do before a shift.
It was the rare day that Robby and Drew didn’t walk in together, something about wanting to get in a bit earlier due to interns and students. Drew wasn’t sure kinda zoned out after he said he couldn’t, the rest wasn’t necessary she already knew she would use it against him in a futile argument.
“Not sure darling, but Collins rushed to the bathroom as soon as she got here. might want to check up on her.” Dana lied straight through her teeth. Knowing Drew would be startled if she heard Abbott was back on the roof. Something to lead her away from that would be ideal, now noticing she was searching for Robby and Abbott.
“Ok yeah thanks.” it was muttered back, her eyes lost in the bustle of the awkward end of night shift warming up for handoff. Her legs pull her away, head still rotating back and fourth.
As soon as she stepped through the bathroom doors she can hear the retching of Collins.
“Oh god Collins, is it really worth this.” Drew being thankful they’re not throwing up their guts before an enervating 12 hours.
“We don’t know if it’s actually going to have the positive outcome yet.” she mutters as she wanders out and over to the sink. Memories from the last time her hopes clouded her mind returning.
“Well in 1992 research showed that the was an increase in successful births when the parent had morning sickness. Also a few conducted in 2002 and more recently 2012.” Drew casually mentioned like she was talking about her day.
“Right. I’m not getting my hopes up.” Grief welled in her stomach for what she could’ve had, at the life that taunts her through every reflection.
“Uh huh. I’ll do it for you then I guess.” She mutters with the roll of her eyes. That was a leading issue for Drew, she was unable to recognize the pain people were in if she had not experienced it herself. She was unable to understand why Heather wasn’t happy about this.
“I will once it’s been 12 weeks.” she breathes a smile through. She had been working with Drew and Robby long enough to understand that she missed the mark sometimes, but never on purpose. It was startling at first but Robby’s explanation made sense more and more it happened.
“Ok yeah makes sense,” Drew nods her head along with that, eyes staying on Heathers figure, “Um also it’s the day Robby lost Adamsom and he’s working, so just be aware. Hasn’t worked this day in four years. Maybe give him some slack. Still blames himself” she shrugs not totally sure how to go about this conversation.
Heather nods with a look of understanding and a breathy ‘right’. Drew sends a small smile and partnering ‘thanks’. She shouts, “Hang in the kid,” behind her shoulder as she’s walking out.
“I am literally older than you,” Collins says back, a smiles taunting her lips.
“I am an attending though.” Drew’s voice makes it through just as the door closes.
As soon as the door closes she notices Jack and Robby stepping out of the elevator. Her heart rate spikes, tingles echoing in her fingertips.
“Hey. Where were you two?” her voice comes out flat, but both men pick up on the nervousness.
“Hey kid,” Jack places a comforting hand at the bottom of her cervical spine, thumb and pointer loosely wrapping round the base of her neck and the rest of his hand splayed on her back. He guides her to walk with them. “Robby wanted to dreamily look out at the city. Really relish in his god complex.”
“Alright, let’s not start. That was y-“ Robby is cut off by a naked man running past them, trying to escape needles.
“Do you two really want to work today? Especially you Robby.” Jack looks at him quizzically. Robby replies with a sigh before walking off.
Jack looks down at Drew, hand still placed on her neck, “Is that mine?” he points to the green zip-up she’s wearing over her scrubs.
Her eyes flick down, ”What, Oh my god. How did that get there.” sarcasm bleeding from her gums.
“Yeah yeah. Don’t know why I bother asking every time.” shaking his head, a small smile from her antics. Jack loved her the moment he spoke to her, though he wouldn’t admit to it. He saw himself in her and as time flooded on, he was more scared by it and felt the need to support them. “You have breakfast?” his hand removes from her back as they round the central station.
He lifts his bag onto the desk. “Ah shit. Fuck. Oh my god. No” Frustration at herself. Her slurry of words was expected by Jack. She had a history of being too caught up in getting to work, forgetting to fuel herself.
As she’s resting her head on her arms Jack plunks a smoothie in a protein shaker next to her nalgene. Her head rotating to see what that was.
“Oh fuck you.” they grumble. They always knew Abbott’s ego inflated every time he got something about her right. Something that had come up when bickering before.
Abbott was typing away, expecting this reaction.
“You got interns and med students today, I would practice calmness if you didn’t want a repeat of last year.” He withheld a chuckle, reminiscing from the amount of times she tried to actually let them learn but then cracked it when they did a minuscule thing wrong.
“Yeah, well, you got no PhD, so pipe down.” she grumbled back as she’s scoffing the smoothie down.
“We’ve got an MD though.” Robby appears next her all of a sudden. She rolls her eyes at this.
“Everyone does. You’re not special Mikey.”
“Hey what did I say about calling me that.” Robby bickers back. Sometimes Abbott was confused if Robby was really serious when he said Drew was like a daughter, not an annoying sister.
“Do it?” she replies back, a grin eating at her face. This is what she loved, two people who are basically her dads - but she won’t admit that aloud - hanging out before the storm hits the shore, and the adventure comes.
Robby leans his head down onto his hands, meeting the same level as Drew’s. He’s about to yap back when a presence behind him appears.
“Dr. Robinavitch?” There’s a women with black glasses and blonde hair tied up. Drew looks up, head still resting, she’s got the same giddiness they had on their first day in the Pitt.
“Yep.” Robby clicks back into professionalism, returning back to his somewhat mature self.
“Melissa King. I will be joining you today.” She swings her arms back and forth slightly in excitement, her beaming smile emphasizing it. “I just came from two months at the VA.”
“Hey, welcome to the Pitt.” Robby takes out his hand from his pocket to shake her hand. A small smile tugging at his lips, thankful she’s a resident. “This is Dr. Jack Abbott and Dr. Drew Elio. “
Mel shifts her eyes to the two of them. As soon as her eyes land a Drew even more excitement washes over her. She instantly recognized her, Mel felt like her day couldn’t get any better than this.
“Nice to meet you! I cant tell you how excited I am to be here today, so…“ her eyes shift up to Abbott and then back down to Drew, “and I mean, just wow, I’m so excited to meet you and work with you!” Drew sends and awkward smile to her. She had experienced this many times, and Mel isn’t even the most energetic one she’s met but she always feel uncomfortable every time people emphasis the admiration for her.
“Talk to me at the end of the day.” Abbot grumbles out. The double meaning not going unnoticed by Drew, eliciting an eye roll from them as Abbotts eyes flick to her.
Robby notices the clash of personalities, stepping in, “Ignore him. He had a rough night and has worked with Dr. Elio for too long. And is having an ongoing existential crisis.” Robby turns and moves, Mel following behind.
“Don’t worry, you’ll get there soon enough.” Abbot stares at Mel intensely, following her with his eyes.
“Alright Meerkat, keep the intense soul boring to your lover.” Drew chuckles.
He’s head whips to her, “He’s not my lover.” he states. Certainty dismissing everything else from his tone.
“I should report you to HR the way you fuck with your eyes.” She giggles at his state, a light pink dusting his cheeks.
“Stop.” he cuts her off before she can continue making fun of him. Scared but what she could possibly say next. “What have you read recently.” he’s quick to ask as his finishing up on the computer.
“Oh my god. So some guys in manchester have noticed that some non-stem cells in the developing blood vessels of zebrafish embryos were also dividing asymmetrically…” Drew keeps going whilst Abbot finishes up, caught up in the recent paper she read last night, withdrawing all the facts that she encoded into her head last night. Abbott nods along, picking up a few things here and there but ultimately just doing it so she knows he’s listening and actually cares about her rambles.
“Ok wait so then- wait. fuck. I’ve got see my patient shit.” she quickly turns and runs off having completely blind to the time and now only remembering the patient she saw on the board.
“Alright. Your drink bottle’s behind here,” Abbott motions to behind the half wall she was leaning on prior as she quickly shoots her head round to see where he’s referring to whilst being careful not to run into anything. “love you. keep an eye on Robby.”
“Yep. love you.” flinging her right hand into the air behind her, showing a thumbs up. He reciprocates the gesture even though she can’t see. Packing the finished shaker into his bag, leaving some protein bars next to her bottle and leaving.
Drew rounds the corner, grabbing some gloves off the nurses station just as she walks into the patients room with Princess already in there.
“Hey Serena, what seems to be the problem?” she smiles, having perfected her bedside manner after all these years.
“I’ve got this really thundering heartbeat, and it feels like my heart is going to beat out of my chest. and, ah, sometimes it increases really quickly” the 20 year old women says, she’s clad in athletic gear likes she’s just come from a pilates class.
“Ok, yep. So when did this start?” they ask.
“Umm, I’ve had this before but it just got really bad during my class.” Serena mumbles, rubbing her palm up and down her chest.
“When was the first incident of this that you can remember?” as she’s asking she grabs onto a wheels stool sitting on it, hands grasping onto her stethoscope round her neck.
“Probably when i was 15 maybe.”
“Ok. Princess do we have ECG results?” Drew mumbles out, facing Princess who was standing with the tablet.
“Ah yep. Retrograde P waves are visible preceding each QRS complex. There is a beat-to-beat variation in the QRS amplitude without evidence of low voltage. And heart rate around 160.” Princess lists off, sending a small smile to Serena with all the medical language.
“That’s what I thought. Thank you,” she turns to face Serena again. “Ok so all that means is that you most likely have something called Supraventricular tachycardia. or SVT for short. and all that means is that your heart will beat really quickly due to your electrical impulses being disrupted-“
Serena goes to interrupt her, most likely with a question “Umm, uh, ah-“ but stops, her chest quickly rising and falling. She attempts to get words out but she fails, instead gasping for air. Drew is quick to react, standing up she rounds to Serena’s right side. She quickly lifts two fingers to her carotid sinus, applying small pressure in circular motions. After a few seconds Serena’s heart rate is back down.
“Alright. Your ok, this is nothing to worry about. Very common in young women. We’ll get you some beta blockers to lower your heart and then you will be good to go home. Just organize an appointment with your GP and if these intense episodes keep occurring, try laying on your back feet in the air and just letting it pass. If that doesn’t work I want you to fold down, chest to knees, block your know and blow like your trying to unblock your ears. This will put pressure and hopefully it will stop. If not come back. If these keep persisting ask your GP about an ablation. Princess will finish up with you.”
“Thank you so much Doc.” Serena says way out of breath, still recovering from her episode.
“No worries. Thanks Princess.” Drew shoots behind her back wandering out of the room she noticed Robby and his little ducklings of newbies.
Drew quickly turns the opposite direction trying to escape.
“And here is our very own Dr. Drew Elio, attending.” Robby calls out, catching her in her stride. She stops, hesitantly turning around. There’s too many beading eyes at her, all belonging to faces of shock and excitement.
“Oh my god, you’re like actually, her, wow.” A girl with black hair a fair skin says, her arms are crossed likes she trying to be nonchalant but her words contradict. She starts to step forward like she’s going to shake her hand.
“Oh wow, you’re like actually, not her, ohh.” Drew responds in fake amazement, eyes going wide in fake bewilderment, poking fun of the girl. That shuts down the smile that was taking over her face, she steps back.
Robby clears his throat, “Um, yeah. Elio this is Trinity Santos, intern - Victoria Javadi, MS3 and Dennis Whitaker, MS4. And everyone this is, uh, someone you listen to and do whatever they says, I hate to say it but they do know best. Your senior residents will report to them, you do not have to.” Robby says uncomfortably scratching his head, forgetting how bad Drew’s socializing skills can be. Unfortunately he had developed that spiel only the second year working together.
They all send awkward waves, now already terrified from her outrageously unprofessional response. Robby cringes even more, somehow their behavior was not Gloria’s number one argument. Mckay shields a chuckle behind her coffee cup, Langdon, Collins and Mohan all sharing looks of amusement. They all remember their first interaction with Drew, and god did it feel nice not to be experiencing that again.
“Right moving on.” They all follow after Robby after he sends Drew a look of disapproval. She just looks at each and everyone of them. Finally her eyes land on the boy trailing at the back. She catches his eyes, and for a second she forgets all protective bitchiness protocol.
A smile teases the corner of her mouth, “Hi.” he stares at her bewildered. Confused how they just transcended from what he saw a second ago.
“Uh,” he clears his throat, eyes trapped in hers, “Hey.” He can feel the slight pigment change in his cheeks, the feeling bleeding through his veins. A warmth flowing throughout, replacing every ATP molecule. He stumbles over his own feet a bit, drawing his attention away from her. He quickly flicks his eyes back up but she’s already turned around, moving back to the central station. He then becomes aware of his lack of movement, speedily catching up to the rest of them.
As Drew walks away after a few beats she peers over her shoulder, back at the boy as he clumsily returns to the bunch

Did I roll a Grey Warden Rook and romance Taash specifically to see the romance-specific dialogue during the 'Something's Coming' quest?
Maybe...
(I have no defense except I am an absolute sucker for partners who worry about each other during battle)

one more question!
Do any of them have personal red flags or something they absolutely cannot have in a partner + red flags they have personally? And what are their scents
I know I have the first one,

They each definitely have red flags, but I think you’ll discover them for yourself soon enough :3
As for their scents, like if they were candles:
Glare - Wood, parchment, and cologne
Brute - hints of dried blood, miscellaneous herbs, and some musk (very subtle smell)
Shiv - Spice(kinda like old spice), and ash/soot
Flint - vanilla bean, blueberry, sea salt
Vile - blackberry, red wine, rose thorn notes
Shark - cherry, musk, hints of chocolate and smoke
Nightmare - Brandy, black licorice, dark chocolate notes

Have a bit of somethign to a drawing idk, enjoy?!
Plapping of leather boots and bare feet echoed throughout chambers of the Abbey. No one was awake at this time. Even the resident of the local penance hall was deep in his slumber. The silver shine of the moon danced within the shadows, turning shades of red, yellow, green and blues into paintings of holy depictions right onto the tiled floor.
The knight turned around, holding out his hand towards the creature of the night who not so surely accepted. Each palm was damaged, littered with scars from battles or calluses simply from hard work. Reynauld’s touch was warm, as if tickling his fingers from the inside, caressing his bones with odd and unfamiliar comfort, traveling through joints and ribs all the way to his insides. It was a sweet poison, forbidden from any studies or murmur. A cussword within the house of light. A plant with thorns, an invasive species stabbing through anything sacred that is to a normal person’s values. Even if its flower petals create a breathtaking view, its nectar is one of the sweetest kinds, it will always be burned to the ground as it’s nothing but an annoying and useless weed.
“I’m alright. I’m pretty sure I’ll see better in the dark than you do.” the alchymist playfully noted, but not letting go. It was unusual and he shall cherish every moment of it as long as it stays, because the moment the light will come, he knew all of it would disappear once more. Flames of the sunrise being nothing but a burning ceremony at a stake, his fantasies not surviving to see the light of day, reminding him that dreams of creatures like him shall be drowned in empty starless nights in cold black brooks before being ever found again.
His mind cleared for a moment, a soft tug on his hand bringing him back to those aster blue eyes. “For someone with better eyesight, you are quite in the back.” With a gentle pull he brought him closer, their other hands meeting as well to establish where the other one was. “If you wish not to come, I will not be mad. You can always tell me. After all it’s just a silly story that I-”
“No, I want to hear it. It seemed very interesting and you looked excited about it.” Bigby interrupted him, mustering a smile that the other one would probably never see.
“If it’s the fact that Damian is in the building…”
“No, let’s just go, please, or we will wake up the others.” and so, he took the lead. He helped him navigate through the darkest corners of the abbey as his eyes and ears adapted way quicker than his friend’s. The smell of old wood and feeling of splinters on his soles signalled to him a set of stairs snaked its way up ahead. “Watch your step, stairs ahe-” was the only warning he managed to let out before trying to catch the crusader mid-fall.
“I apologize, I usually have at least a candle for these kinds of expeditions." He quickly gathered himself while chuckling and tried to keep up the pace. Going up the stairs to the room was quite a challenge for the stronger man as memory was sometimes all he had, but they were in no rush. At the entrance he grabbed a small flint and steel, lighting up a candle by his door. The light shimmered as he brought it to the night stand, spreading the flame to the other ones. They were only half the size of the new one, drizzled on every side by the melted wax. Seems like the knight enjoyed late night reading. Who would blame him to be honest. The silence of the night can be refreshing from everyday loudness of life.
Bigby slowly opened his eye, making sure strains of hair were still somewhat covering it as the candle light was too much of a bright change for him. His ears prickled with the sound of the bed being bapped, an unspoken invite. He accepted. The alchymist wasn’t used to this. Soft fabric on touch, clean, the only familiar thing was an overpowering smell of chamomile and sage from his nightstand poorly masking the scent of Reynauld that was all over the place. He never really was with anyone like this since his scholar days and even that was very restricted. He was a stranger to a situation like this.
“Would you like a blanket? I have one spare one for cold days if you’d like. Or a cup of water? there’s still plenty in the pitch on the table.” The crusader rumaged through his bookcases in the meantime, trying to find the one they talked about back in the garden. Its bourbon colour was easy to lose between brown covers of diaries, stories about the light and more.
“You’re very kind, but I’m fine, really. I’ll just use my one.” Bigby wrapped the dark green cloth around his shoulders while watching the man walk over, holding his long seeked out treasure. With some arrangements, Reynauld ended up half sitting on his bed, pillow behind his back to support him, knees bent to lend some space to Bigby who was just wrapped around his side, far enough to give him some space, but close enough to be able to read through the pages. His host melodically read each line, his chest rumbling with each word, calming down the creature’s mind. Bigby’s eyelids started to get heavy, lines of text became hieroglyphs, then dark inky patches of grass until he saw nothing but dark hills with a cloudy sky above. In the distance he still heard his voice, soothing his mind. Uneasiness unraveled its tight grip onto Bigby's lungs, finally letting him peacefully rest after a long time.
Reynauld here and there checked on him. It was usually whenever a small kick with a leg twitched near his or the man’s cheekbone rubbed against his shoulder, visibly trying to find a comfier spot. A soft smile crawled its way under his beard. “Good night, sleep well.”

The Gilded Cage and the Serpent’s Kiss
Ellie Williams x Fem reader
Summary: Ellie and reader go into the games with the fault that who will win, who will live, who dies and who will tell the story.
Part I: Seeds of Rebellion
Chapter 1: The Offering
The treaty rolled back to when my great-great-great-grandparents were alive, a pretty long time, huh? Not long enough, I was turning eighteen today. When I was born, when every baby was born, the parents had to sign a treaty to accept their kids into the games. Dad won the games when he was eighteen, he was now forty-one. He told me it was for Tommy since Tommy got picked to enter, so he volunteered to do it for him, but since I was the only child, I had to go even if I didn't want to. Tommy was my uncle, the best, to say the least.
“Y/n, get up, the reaping is today!” Dad called out for me to get up, and I got up and grabbed the dress Ellie's mom had made for me. Ellie and I were inseparable ever since mom died she was there and ever since her dad abandoned her and her mom for ellie being a ‘dyke’ as he would say i was there for her. We were the best of friends, but I thought of her more than that, hoping she felt the same. I slipped the pretty floral Miami-bound blue sundress as I slipped my ballerina flats on. Walking outside of my room as I entered the bathroom to fix my hair, clipping it into a French barrette that was my mom’s. Dad came up to me.
“You look just like your mother, munch,” Dad says with a warm smile, as I return the smile as he puts on a mockingbird necklace on me. My parents gave me that nickname because, according to my whole family, I knew how to eat and I wasnt a picky eater, that I’d eat anything, which was still true.
“Dad, whose necklace is this?” I asked, looking up at him, waiting for his response.
“Your mom’s,” he said he got ready as we went to the reaping with Ellie and her mom.
“You look beautiful, angel,” Ellie compliments me as I blush, thanking her. I took in her appearance, she had on dress pants and her black converse with a shirt her mom tailored for her.
“Wow, I can't believe you finally wore something other than your jeans and hoodies,” I teased as I hugged her before we went inside the reaping, praying I didn't get in, neither did she.
“Welcome to the 25th Hunger Games!” the escort said with a smile. How could she be smiling?
“We will be changing this up this year! There will be 2 girls and 2 boys from each district!” the escort says. My heart dropped to the ground, my eyes wide, I glanced at Ellie, who was standing next to me.
“And each district will have a mentor from the capitol,” she announces. Great this shit show will be beneficial for them.
“From district 1, Dina Baker, Desarose Emille for the girls, now for the gentlemen, it will be Harvey Green and Damon Bennett. For district 2, it will be Sienna Rogers and Abby Anderson, for the boys, Midas Thompson and Odysseus Fisher. For the district 3 Circuit Bellweather and Tesla Gear, and the boys, Volt Tinker and Binary Bolt, for District 4, the girls, Coral Reef and Marina Tide, and the boys, Finn Mariner and Caspian Wave, for District 5, Ember Spark and Radiant Volt and the boys Ignis Flare and Zephyr Current. For District 6, Velocity Swift and Jetta Rail, and the boys Axel Gearshift and Pilot Ryder, for District 7, Willow Bark and Hazel Wood, and the boys Silas Branch and Forrest Timber, for District 8, Indigo Weave and Scarlett Thread, and the boys Loomis Spool and Tanner Hide. For District 9, Harvest Rye and Avena Field, and the boys Barley Seed and Flint Wills. For District 10, Daisy Meadow and Liv Stockman, and the boys Angus Herd and Clay Hoof. For District 11, Clementine Grove and Briar Thorn, and for the boys, Rowan Seedling and Cyrus Bloom, for District 12, Y/n Miller and Ellie Williams, and the boys, Jesse McMillan and Ash Driller.” as she finishes announcing the names my heart drops not only am I in the games so is Ellie. We walk up to the stand as I look at my dad in fear.
The soldiers took us to a room that Ellie and I shared, so we could say goodbye to family members. As I see my dad come in, I hug him tightly.
“Dad, I'm scared, I don't want to do this, I can't-” I said, panicked tears falling down my face
“Baby girl, you have to, im sorry, I love you with all of my heart, don't ever take this off, okay, I love you so so much,” he said as he wipes my tears, hugging me tighter. They dragged my dad out as I cried.
They took us to the train so we could drive to the arena. We were going to be human entertainment that sick asshole. Ellie and I saw Jesse and Ash talking to our mentor. I walked up to them, Ellie following soon after. “Im Silas, your mentor,” he said as I spoke
“Where are you from? The capitol?” he shook his head
“District 12,” he spoke as I scoffed
“You're a liar,” I said as he shook his head again
“Im not. I won the 2nd game when I was sixteen. And was your father’s mentor when he was a tribute,” he stated
“What?” I uttered as he nodded
“How many people can win?” Ash asked with urgency as Silas just shrugged. The escort named Aurelia showed all four of us our stylists
“This is your stylist, Lumiere, Jesse,” she tells Jesse with her strong British accent, as she reaches to ash
“Ash, this is your stylist, Rhapsody,” she said, reaching out to me and Ellie
“Ellie, this is your stylist, Silhouette,” she told her, finally reaching towards me
“Y/n, this is your stylist, Glimmer,” she told me as I glanced at my stylist, she was beautiful to say the least.
“Why do we need a stylist?” I asked as Aurelia turned to face me
“Well, for the events, of course,” she answered
“What events?” Jesse asked
“Go off shoo to bed. You kids have a long day tomorrow,” she said, cutting the conversation. We went off to bed, but as I went inside my room, Ellie slipped inside as well
“Ellie, you have your room. Is everything ok?” I asked as she grabbed my face, kissing me, I grabbed her face, kissing her deeper before pulling back.
“Wait, why did you just kiss me?” I asked
“Because I love you, Y/n, from the moment I saw you, I’ve loved you,” Ellie confessed as my face heated up
“You mean it?” I asked
“Of course I do,” she said as we kissed again, moving to my bed, making out as she moved lower to my neck as i pulled back
“Ellie, we shouldn't not here” I vocalized
“Why not?” she asked
“When we’re alone, I promise you, but not now, not here” i told her as she nodded
“Be my girlfriend,” she asked as I nodded in joy as she went back to her room. I changed into a nightgown left for me on a mirror as I got into bed to sleep.
