Every single member of the Batfamily lies about their taste in music
Damian will claim that he only listens to classical music and that everything else is beneath him.
Damian will unironically listen to trashy Arab pop and the absolute worst Bollywood songs known to man (Dick introduced him to them and he hates the fact that sometimes he gets Sheila Ki Jawani stuck in his head during missions)
Tim will put on the most ear grating hyper pop you've ever heard and claim with full chest that these is the peak of humanities capabilities with music (Damian, Jason and Steph have all tried to kill him for this take) He will also play stuff like the living tombstones and sing it obnoxiously loud when he's working on the computer.
Tim however loves his 90s grunge and it's all that's playing in his headphones. (think nirvana, pearl Jam, Melvins, Alice in Chains etc) He has tracked down so many shirts and concert posters and watched every bit of content from the older shows.
Jason will claim he only listens to east coast rap, biggie, Nas, Jay etc and maybe some older metal. He will fight you on east vs west coast music, there will be weaponry involved.
Jason likes rap music... he unfortunately prefers west coast rap and has listened to no vaseline like 500 times. He will deny this till the day he dies...again. (Dick knows and threatens to tell Steph)
Steph will steal the aux and play Taylor Swifts greatest hits until one of the Boys threatens mutiny. Every single one of the bats has had style stuck in their heads during a stakeout at least twice. She will claim that the only rap song she can tolerate in Eminem and the 7/11 is Beyoncés best song.
Steph is an underground fan, think the dude selling mixtapes on the subway type shit. She also unlike Jason genuinely loves East Coast Rap music more than anything and knows every single wu-tang clan song by heart, same with Biggie. Not only does she love the music she also spends any free time binging those "history of rap and its consequences" videos and has been a firm believer that P.Diddy had a hand in a lot of the Death row records well...deaths.
Cass, well everyone thinks Cass has really good taste bc its Cass and she has zero flaws (don't @ me) she never takes the aux and will usually listen to her music while she's chilling or doing stretches. None of them have heard or seen a single one of her playlists except Duke.
its all 2010s top 40s pop music and like the trashy kind too, Beauty and the Beat, Kesha, Katy Perry. It's her turning of her brain time and she will be straight vibing to Rude! by magic or Boom Clap or Shower. she has shown this to Duke, smirked and told him that even if he tried to tell anyone they wouldn't believe him.
Duke is the only one who doesn't... lie. He just hides a few things. Lies of omission don't count as lies when the bats will lie to you about what they had for breakfast, while they are visibly eating breakfast. Duke says he listens to everything and he does. Literally everything. His patrol Jam is offensive bc it with start with Norwegian death metal and immediately switches to "like a G6" followed by kendrick Lamar and then descendants Disney channel movie music.
Bruce... Bruce is just weird, everyone asks him and gets a different answer. Bc he doesn't... like music. Like at all. It's all noise, his mother played instruments so he learned like 14 and he hates how they all sound. He just like vague batwings fluttering in dead silence.
Dick Grayson will obnoxiously play top 40 and radio music religiously around the bats. He claims it's the best music for rhythmic acrobatics and trapeze work and that true! Jason hates this kind of music the most, it's formulaic and holds no substance and drives him insane.
But Dick only listens to that music when he's moving, flipping doing high energy stuff. When he just wants to chill? This man has the most depressing music taste you've ever seen. You know that sad song from ur favorite artist that you can't listen to without crying. Yeah that's his bread and butter. Every single song is just flat out tear inducing, some of these bands have like 100 listeners and he is one of them and it's just their saddest song that reads like suicide note. The titans have conducted an intervention bc its just... concerning. He just thinks it's neat!

Left on the Sidelines (Chapter 1)
Tumblr media
Synopsis: You walked in the arena, filled with excitement to be watching your boyfriend play a match after sooo many years. The promise of him getting to spend time with you after the match kept you on your feet. Until something flipped in Rin.
Tags: rin itoshi x gn!reader, takes setting in the blue lock VS u20 match, angst, kinda ooc rin i think, inspired by an au i saw on tiktok, cold rin
next chapter
Tumblr media
The anticipation was almost unbearable. You had waited weeks, no, months for this.
Ever since Rin was recruited into the Blue Lock program, your relationship had been a series of stolen moments—a few texts here, a hurried call there.
He’d always been laser-focused, but the promise he made about spending time with you after the U-20 match was what kept you going.
The night before the match, his voice had softened in rare reassurance over the phone:
“I’ll make it up to you. Just wait for me after the game.”
Those words stayed with you, adding an extra bounce to your steps as you arrived at the stadium. You made sure to secure a seat close to the field.
The crowd buzzed with energy, a sea of people clad in team colors, waving banners and shouting cheers. The intensity was palpable, but your eyes were only searching for one person.
As the players began to emerge, the applause grew thunderous. Finally, you saw him—the unmistakable figure of Rin Itoshi walking out with his team.
His teal eyes scanned the crowd, and the moment his gaze landed on you, his expression softened just slightly. He raised a hand, a subtle wave accompanied by a small, almost imperceptible smile.
Your heart swelled. It felt like time rewound itself to when you first fell for him—those giddy butterflies fluttering uncontrollably in your chest.
No matter how tough his demeanor, Rin had always had that quiet way of showing you he cared.
The first half of the game was mesmerizing. Rin was a force of nature, orchestrating plays with precision and determination. While the rest of the team moved with frenzied energy, he was a pillar of calm, calculating each step.
But what truly warmed your heart was how his eyes occasionally flickered toward you in the stands. In those fleeting moments, you felt like his anchor, grounding him amidst the chaos of the game.
By the second half, the match transformed into a battlefield. Rin’s demeanor changed—his intensity radiated off him in waves, and the once-composed boy became almost ruthless.
His ability to lead his team while shutting down the opponents was astounding, but the fierceness in his movements unsettled you slightly. Still, as the whistle blew, signaling the end of the game and Blue Lock’s victory, pride swelled within you.
You couldn’t wait to tell him how amazing he’d been.
---
You made your way to the backstage area designated for players' guests, weaving through the lingering crowd. Finding a spot near the entrance, you stood with your phone clutched tightly in your hands.
He’ll be here soon.
A few minutes passed. Then twenty. Thirty.
Your excitement began to dwindle, replaced by a creeping sense of unease. You pulled out your phone and shot him a message:
You: “Great game! I’m waiting backstage. Can’t wait to see you! <3”
No response.
Ten more minutes. You tried again.
You: “Rin, everything okay? I’m still here.”
Still nothing.
You shifted on your feet, anxiety brewing in your chest. The other guests slowly began to disperse, but you stayed rooted in place, glancing at the entrance every few seconds.
As the area grew quieter, you noticed a group of men lingering nearby. Their loud laughter and lingering stares sent a chill down your spine.
“Hey, are you waiting for someone?” one of them called out, stepping closer.
You stiffened, pretending not to hear him, but your silence only emboldened them.
“Don’t be shy, sweetheart,” another sneered, closing the distance.
“I’m fine,” you said firmly, though your trembling voice betrayed your fear.
“Come on, no need to be like that,” the first man insisted, his tone mockingly sweet.
Panic clawed at your throat. Your mind screamed for Rin, but the cold reality that he wasn’t there sank in like a stone. You tried to stall, desperately hoping someone—anyone—would notice what was happening.
“Back off!” a voice suddenly barked, cutting through the tension.
"Rin?" You mumbled. A part of you was hoping it was Rin. You looked up only to have disappointment rush over you.
A passerby had noticed the commotion and intervened, causing the group to scatter. Relief flooded through you, but it was short-lived. As much as you were grateful for the stranger’s help, all you could think was: Why wasn’t it Rin?
The adrenaline faded, leaving you emotionally drained as you returned to the waiting area. The once-busy stadium was now almost empty, the excitement of the match replaced by eerie silence.
Your heart clenched painfully as you glanced at your phone—no missed calls, no texts. You had clung to his promise, but now, all you felt was hurt and anger.
Finally, you left. By the time you got home, the weight of everything crashed down, and tears spilled freely. How could Rin have left you like that, after all his assurances?
---
The next day, Rin sent a brief text:
Rin: “Sorry. Got caught up. I’ll explain later.”
You stared at the message, the hurt bubbling to the surface. Taking a deep breath, you replied, trying to mask your anger:
You: “Is everything okay? I waited so long for you yesterday…”
No response came. Hours passed, and your phone screen remained blank, the weight of silence heavy in your chest. Still, you convinced yourself he was tired from the game or busy celebrating with his team.
Rin wasn’t always expressive, but he wouldn’t ignore you intentionally... right?
Over the next few days, your messages to Rin became more frequent, a desperate attempt to bridge the growing distance.
You: “Hey, how’s training? I hope you’re not pushing yourself too hard!”
Rin: “I’m fine. Just busy.”
You: “Can we call tonight? I miss you.”
Rin: “Can’t. Long day tomorrow.”
Each reply felt colder, more detached than the last. It was as if he was replying out of obligation, his once thoughtful responses reduced to bare-bones excuses.
You told yourself he was just stressed, that this phase would pass. Yet, every time you initiated contact, you were met with the same wall of indifference.
Determined to salvage what you had, you decided to surprise him. You knew Rin rarely had time off, but you figured bringing him his favorite snacks or even spending a few moments together might make a difference.
You: “I’m heading near your training facility tomorrow. Should I drop by and bring you something?”
His reply came after an hour:
Rin: “Don’t. I won’t be able to meet you.”
You swallowed back the lump forming in your throat.
You: “Oh… okayyyy. Maybe another time?”
No response.
Even when you were apart, you used to find ways to support him. You’d send messages of encouragement, tell him how proud you were, remind him that you were rooting for him every step of the way. But now, it felt like you were shouting into the void.
You: “I know things are hectic right now, but I’m always here for you. Just… don’t forget that, okay?”
When he finally replied, his words stung like ice:
Rin: “You don’t have to check up on me all the time. I’m fine.”
The indifference in his tone hit you like a slap. Tears welled in your eyes, but you forced yourself to type back.
You: “I’m just worried about you, Rin. That’s all.”
His next message made your chest ache:
Rin: “There’s no need. Focus on yourself.”
The following weekend, you tried one last time to bridge the gap. After deliberating for hours, you sent him a long message.
You: “Rin, I know you’re under a lot of pressure, and I don’t want to get in the way of your goals. But it’s hard not hearing from you, not knowing how you’re feeling. I miss the way we used to be. I know I’ve been texting a lot… but it’s just because I care about you so much. I wish we could talk like we used to.”
Minutes turned into hours with no reply. That night, your phone finally buzzed.
Rin: “I can’t give you the attention you want right now. You’re better off focusing on other things.”
His words were like a dagger to your heart.

Characters: Dawn Summers (you), Selena Gomez, Taylor Swift, Harry styles, Justin Bieber Summary: This is the most 2013 Wattpadd ass fanfic you have ever read, it's basically you and your best friends Selena and Taylor navigating high school life with a little love triangle between you, Justin, and Harry... Notes: This isn't my usual stuff but it's for @sof1stiredd who asked for something like this in the 2015 community. (Here you go babes I hope you love this lmao!) So grab a latte, put on hollister shorts and a PINK sweater and gather your long blonde hair into a messy bun because you're about to be transported into 2013. (And no, your evil stepmom didn't sell you and your ocean blue eyes to one direction in this one...)
You're Dawn Summers, a 17-year-old girl from The Valley, Los Angeles. You have ridiculously long, dirty blonde hair, and you bear a striking resemblance to Cara Delevingne—like… insane resemblance. You hear about it every single day at school, and you'd think that's the reason you're so popular, but actually, everyone likes you because you're an angel walking the halls. You're so nice to everyone, and your sense of humor can make even the most emo guy crack a laugh.
Sure, you're a little awkward. Like that one time when the hottest guy in school—Harry Styles—asked you to go to McDonald’s with him at lunch and you tripped with the food tray in your hand… oops. Or the time your two best friends, Selena Gomez and Taylor Swift, came over for a sleepover, but you'd forgotten they were coming, so you were eating a tub of Ben & Jerry’s in your most embarrassing Disney sweater and watching Bratz—yikes. It's safe to say you're not perfect, but your mom and dad sure seem to think so, and so does almost everyone at school.
The gentle hum of your new iPhone 5 getting a message wakes you up from your sleep. You flutter your eyes open to the shiny sunlight that casts your room in golden light, making your pink Victoria's Secret print wallpaper appear peachy. You pick up your phone—the fuzzy phone case feels like heaven against your freshly manicured fingers—and you notice that it's a message from Taylor, your best friend since elementary school.
"Hey babes!! I can pick you up today, mom's letting me borrow the Jeep, be ready in 10. xx -TayTay"
Your eyes shoot open in panic.
Ten minutes!? How will I ever get ready in ten minutes?! you think, panicking. You fight your way out of your fluffy teal sheets and almost fall over trying to get your slippers on. You throw on a light pink, very soft bathrobe over your oversized band tee and toss your dirty blonde hair into a messy bun.
You barely make it to the bathroom when you hear your computer chime. You run back to check it and see it's an AOL message from Justin. You almost trip over nothing in shock as you stare at the screen.
"Hey Dawn, jus wondering if u wanna go 2 the skate park with me during free period? Ttyl. -Justin."
Justin Bieber. Not counting Harry, he's the absolute hottest guy in your school… with his gorgeous brown hair and hazel eyes, he looks so dreamy. And he skates. But he's also best friends with Harry, and you have a tiny crush on Harry. Selena swears she overheard them talking about you one time, but you think she was just trying to be nice. She did tell you that the exact day you failed your driver's test…
You have no idea what to answer to Justin’s message… You check the time—five minutes?!?
In a panic, you throw on a pair of American Eagle skinny jeans and a Hollister top. You struggle to get your Isabel Marant sneaker heels on but manage just before falling right on your butt. You run to the bathroom, brush your teeth, spritz on a couple sprays of VS body spray (Love Spell), and coat your full lips in Baby Lips chapstick. You take one last look in the mirror before grabbing your light blue Longchamp bag off the floor and running downstairs.
"Hey darling, got time for a bagel and some coffee?" your mom yells from the kitchen. You have the most amazing family—your mom makes sure you eat breakfast every day, and she makes it so yummy you wouldn't even think about saying no. Your dad is the best; he takes you to dinner, you play Guitar Hero together, and he just got you a skateboard for your birthday.
"I'm so late! Taylor's gonna be here any minute!" you yell from the foyer.
Your mom comes out with two Starbucks coffees and hands them to you.
"I had a feeling someone was picking you up. Say hi to Taylor for me." Your mom laughs, and you thank her for the coffee before heading out into the hot sunshine.
Outside, Taylor sits in the driver’s seat of a cool white Jeep, 5SOS playing on the stereo, her straight blonde hair and white T-shirt flowing in the wind with the skylight and windows open. You run up to the car and get in the front seat, flinging your bag into the back.
"Oh my goodness, girl, why do you look actually amazing?" she asks with a big smile as she takes the other coffee.
"Stop it! I literally woke up just when you texted me. I had no time to get ready," you laugh.
After a short drive, Taylor’s trying to park straight in the school parking lot, and you're looking around for Selena. Not a moment later, she rolls in with her red Mustang, her dark brown hair in loose, messy curls, wearing a band tee and low-waisted jeans with Uggs. You wave at her, and she flashes you the biggest smile you've ever seen. The golden feather tied in her hair reflects the sun beautifully.
You get out of the car with Taylor and notice her incredible jeans. They're low-waisted and flared Miss Me jeans with rhinestones all over the backside.
"TayTay, those jeans are gorge!" you yell out.
"I just bought these yesterday. Aren’t they the cutest thing ever??" Her voice drips with excitement.
"Your ass looks amazing, I know that for sure," says Selena, who walks behind Taylor and gives her a quick hug.
Taylor and Selena are your angels. You've known Taylor since elementary school, and you became a trio in middle school when Selena moved to L.A. from Oregon. Taylor's so nice but can really hold her ground when needed—she often protects you when Chloe or Jennifer start getting on your case. Chloe and Jennifer are, together, the embodiment of evil. They're so mean—and for no reason. Well... Chloe might have a crush on Justin, and Jennifer happens to be borderline in love with Harry. They get extra mean when either of the guys show you any attention. But you're just friends with them... even if you think they're kind of yummy-looking.
Selena is so cool—she’s like if Megan Fox and Dove Cameron had a lovechild. She can seem kind of terrifying; she’s that cool kind of gorgeous. But once you get to know her, she’s just the sweetest and funniest person ever. Her sarcasm does get her into trouble, though.
"Do we all have P.E. first period?" you ask, trying to check if you remembered your exercise clothes.
"Ugh, yeah, with Mr. Smith. He's such a hardass. You know he made me run five miles with a sprained ankle," Selena groans.
"You fell into a foam pit. If anything, you had a tiny bruise on your ankle," Taylor chimes in. Selena grins a toothy smile.
"Still, it hurt!"
Before Taylor can protest, you see Justin out of the corner of your eye, and he’s walking toward you.
"Omg, that's Justin. He's coming here!" you try to scream-whisper.
"He's so going to ask you out, Dawn!" Taylor says, looking at him with sparkles in her eyes.
"Well, he kinda di—" you manage to say before Selena elbows you in the side to signal that he's here.
You turn to look at him and—gosh—does he look amazing. His hair is slicked back, and he's wearing jeans, a white shirt, and a cool leather jacket. His skateboard is in his hand.
"Hey, Dawn," he says, smiling.
"Oh hey, Justin!" you say, trying to sound like you don’t really care.
"Did you get my message this morning?" he asks. His puppy eyes look irresistible.
Taylor and Selena almost scream upon hearing about his message, but you kick Selena in the shin before she can open her mouth.
"Yeah… I'm sorry, I was so busy this morning. What did it say again?" you ask. You remember exactly what the message said—you remember every word, every syllable—but you want Taylor and Selena to hear him say it.
"Oh, I was just wondering if you wanted to go skate during free period. I mean, I heard you got a skateboard for your birthday."
"Uhm..." You almost can't get the words out. He is so hot, and he’s never spoken to you this much—he’s more of a friend of a friend.
"She would love to," says Taylor from behind you. Justin turns to look at her and then back at you. You just nod enthusiastically.
"Okay then, see you after lunch."
P.E. is boring. Like, seriously bland. Mr. Smith is making you run five laps before you can play field hockey. Your hair is sticking to your neck, so you decide to throw your T-shirt off and run in your sports bra. It's from PINK and has pastel blue and yellow stripes all over—it’s adorable.
"I can't hang out with Justin. What if you-know-who sees us and starts to hate me?" you say, panting from the heat.
"Oh come on! Who said you couldn't hang out with two boys? As friends, of course," Taylor points out, running beside you.
"Or not as friends…" Selena laughs. She still looks perfect in this heat. Her eyeliner is perfectly drawn, and she smells like sexy roses. Taylor doesn’t look so great—she still looks beautiful, but her hair is almost wet from sweat. You jokingly laugh at her unathleticism. She smells like clouds and clean laundry.
After P.E., you're at your locker getting your math books when you notice Harry walking toward you. He’s got on shorts and a button-up with the cutest scarf. You blush at the sight of him.
"Hey, there’s my favorite girl!" he yells, holding his arms out for a hug. You hug him and laugh.
"Hey Harry! Careful—Jennifer’s gonna think we’re together, haha!" you joke.
"Well… I wouldn’t mind her thinking that, would you?" he says. You almost choke on nothing.
"What? As in, you want us to be together?" you ask.
"I’m just joking... unless?" He pulls you in, his big hand on your lower back, his gorgeous blue eyes locking onto your green ones. He looks like a painting. He presses his soft pink lips against yours—he tastes like coffee and mint chapstick. You're so caught off guard, you almost don't notice Justin looking at you from across the hall with the saddest expression. But you catch him just before he turns around and leaves the school.
You pull away from Harry, as hard as it is—it feels like you’re being pulled together by magnets—but you like Justin too. It’s all so confusing.
"I’m sorry… I gotta go," you say before running after Justin.
You catch him before he gets in his car. You grab him by the wrist and look up at him. He looks so hurt.
"Justin..." you say, trying to explain.
"What? Now you like me? Or do you like Harry... who happens to be my best friend!" he says. He sounds angry and sad at the same time.
"I—I’m not sure I—" you start, but you see something switch in his eyes as he closes the car door and looks at the school. He begins walking back in with determination… you’re afraid you know where this is going.
He storms inside the school and heads straight to Harry. People in the halls are staring at him, and you, running behind. He turns Harry around by the shoulder and you close your eyes.
"You know I like her!!" he yells at Harry.
Harry lifts his hands in the air and laughs.
"You like her?! Well then tell me her favorite color. Tell me what perfume she uses. Tell me her dog’s name!" Harry yells.
Justin looks baffled, hurt, and defeated.
"I don’t know those things. You know why?"
"Why?" Harry shoots back.
"Because you never gave me the chance to get to know her. You have Jennifer—she’s in love with you... Why take Dawn?!"
"Because Dawn is the coolest girl I’ve ever met. And also the best kisser..." Harry shouts. He knows it's a low shot, but he can’t help it.
You barely have time to register what’s happening before you hear Justin’s fist fly at Harry—and Harry falls against the locker.
"I love her!"

I-Ō Vs. Deathstroke! (OC x Cannon)
# Iron Rain
The mission had started like any other Tuesday night patrol for the Teen Titans. What should have been a simple reconnaissance on a suspected weapons trafficking operation had quickly escalated when Deathstroke materialized from the shadows like a specter of violence incarnate. The rooftop of the abandoned Gotham warehouse became a battlefield, scattered with debris from their ongoing conflict.
Jon Kent—Superboy—darted through the air with superhuman speed, his cape billowing behind him as he attempted to outmaneuver the legendary assassin. But Deathstroke was a master tactician, each movement calculated and precise. With brutal efficiency, he caught Jon off-guard with a carefully timed explosive that sent the young Kryptonian tumbling through the night sky, temporarily disoriented.
That's when Deathstroke's attention turned to Robin—Damian Wayne—who had been coordinating the team's movements from his position near the rooftop's edge. The assassin's single eye gleamed with cold satisfaction as he closed the distance between them in three swift strides.
"The son of Batman," Deathstroke growled, his voice carrying the weight of old grudges. "Time to see if you can fly like your predecessor."
Before Damian could react, Deathstroke's armored boot connected with his chest in a devastating kick that launched him backward off the building's edge. The world became a blur of city lights and rushing wind as Damian plummeted toward the unforgiving concrete below, his grappling hook just out of reach.
Jon, still recovering from the explosion's effects, stretched his hand desperately toward his falling friend, but the distance was too great, his coordination too compromised. "Damian!"
That's when she appeared.
I-Ō materialized in the air below Damian with the casual grace of someone who had simply stepped through a doorway rather than defied gravity itself. Her expression remained completely blank, those distinctive grey eyes with their white pupils showing no trace of alarm or urgency. She caught him effortlessly in a bridal carry, her small frame betraying none of the strain one might expect from catching a falling person.
Her wavy black hair fluttered gently in the wind as she descended slowly, her miniature bat-like wings barely visible beneath her hero attire. The platform boots of her uniform touched down on the adjacent rooftop with barely a sound, and she set Damian down with the same casual indifference she might show when placing a book on a shelf.
"You alright?" she asked in her soft voice, the slight French accent barely noticeable as she steadied him on his feet.
Damian's green eyes searched her face, taking in the familiar sight of her tactical gas mask with its animated visor currently displaying a neutral expression. Without warning, his gloved hands reached up and tugged the mask down, revealing her pale brown features and those perpetual eye-bags that spoke of chronic exhaustion.
Before I-Ō could process what was happening, Damian's lips were on hers. The kiss was fierce and desperate, born from the adrenaline of near-death and the relief of salvation. For a moment, the world around them ceased to exist—no mission, no danger, just the two of them suspended in that instant of connection.
I-Ō responded instinctively, her own lips moving against his with surprising warmth given her typically reserved nature. But after several heartbeats, she pulled away, her expression already returning to its characteristic blankness even as her pupils shifted to small hearts for just a fraction of a second before returning to normal.
"Checkmate," she murmured, and then she was airborne again.
What happened next would be recounted in Titan mission reports for years to come, though none of them would quite capture the terrifying beauty of I-Ō's fury unleashed.
She rose through the air with mechanical precision, her small form silhouetted against the Gotham skyline. Deathstroke, standing triumphantly on the warehouse roof where he'd just disposed of Robin, barely had time to register the approaching threat before I-Ō's platform boot connected with his chest in a devastating dropkick.
The impact sent the armored assassin skidding backward across the rooftop, his single eye wide with surprise. He recovered quickly—he was Deathstroke, after all—but there was something unsettling about the way the small figure landed in a crouch before him, completely motionless except for the animated expression on her reattached gas mask, which now displayed narrowed, angry eyes.
"The little monster joins the party," Deathstroke said, rising to his feet and drawing his sword. "Amanda Waller told me about you. The immortal freak with anger management issues."
I-Ō said nothing. She simply stood, her hands hanging loosely at her sides, but there was something in her posture that made even Deathstroke hesitate. It was the stillness of a predator deciding whether its prey was worth the effort to kill.
Then she moved.
The fight that followed was unlike anything the other Titans had witnessed. I-Ō fought with a style that seemed to blend multiple martial arts disciplines with supernatural grace, her movements fluid and unpredictable. She ducked under Deathstroke's sword swings with minimal effort, her expression never changing even as she landed precise strikes to pressure points and joints.
Deathstroke was forced to acknowledge that reports of her combat prowess hadn't been exaggerated. Despite her small stature and seemingly delicate build, every blow she landed carried surprising force. Her knowledge of anatomy—both from her medical training and her supernatural nature—made her strikes devastatingly effective.
For several minutes, they were evenly matched. Deathstroke's experience and tactical brilliance against I-Ō's supernatural abilities and eidetic memory, which allowed her to perfectly recall and counter his techniques after seeing them once. The rooftop became their arena, their movements creating a deadly dance of violence and precision.
But then Deathstroke landed a solid hit.
His armored fist connected with I-Ō's nose with a wet crack that echoed across the rooftop. Blood immediately began flowing from her nostrils, staining the lower portion of her gas mask's visor crimson. She stumbled backward, one hand instinctively rising to her injured face.
For a moment, everything was silent except for the distant sounds of Gotham traffic below.
Then I-Ō slowly lowered her hand, looking at the blood on her fingertips with those grey eyes that had gone completely flat and cold. When she looked up at Deathstroke, something fundamental had changed in her expression—or rather, the complete absence of expression had become something far more terrifying than any display of rage.
"Jackpot," she whispered, and her voice carried a tone that made Deathstroke's blood run cold.
The air around I-Ō began to shimmer with supernatural energy as she raised both hands above her head. The temperature dropped noticeably, and a pressure began building that made everyone's ears pop. Jon, who had finally recovered and rejoined the fight, felt his Kryptonian senses screaming warnings about the power building in the small figure before them.
"Iron Rain," I-Ō said quietly, and reality bent to her will.
They materialized out of thin air—over a thousand throwing knives of various sizes and designs, all suspended in the night sky above Deathstroke like a metallic storm cloud. Each blade caught the city lights, creating a constellation of deadly intent that stretched across the entire rooftop. The sheer number of weapons was overwhelming, turning the warehouse roof into what looked like the interior of some impossible armory.
The knives weren't random conjurations—each one was perfectly crafted, balanced for throwing, their edges sharp enough to split silk. They hung motionless for a heartbeat, awaiting their master's command, and in that silence, Deathstroke finally understood why Amanda Waller had called her a monster.
This wasn't just a display of power. This was an execution.
I-Ō's right hand began to descend, the gesture that would send every single blade hurtling toward Deathstroke with supernatural accuracy and force. There would be no dodging, no blocking, no escape. Just death delivered from a thousand different angles simultaneously.
"I-Ō, stop!"
Damian's voice cut through the supernatural tension like a blade of its own. He had managed to grapple back up to the rooftop, and now stood between I-Ō and Deathstroke, his green eyes locked with her grey ones.
"This isn't you," he said, taking a careful step toward her. "You're a doctor. You save lives, you don't take them."
For a moment, the knives continued to hover, I-Ō's hand frozen mid-gesture. Her pupils had shifted to small spirals, indicating the internal struggle taking place behind her blank expression.
"He hurt you," she said simply, blood still trickling from her nose. "He threw you off a building."
"And you caught me," Damian replied, taking another step closer. "You saved me. That's what you do—you save people. Even when they don't deserve it."
The knives began to waver slightly in their formation, some of them rotating slowly as I-Ō's concentration wavered.
"I-Ō," Damian said softly, close enough now to reach out and touch her bloodied face. "Come back to me."
Something in his voice—perhaps the vulnerability he rarely allowed himself to show—seemed to reach through whatever dark place her fury had taken her. The spirals in her pupils gradually faded back to normal circles, and slowly, one by one, the thousand suspended blades began to dissolve back into the supernatural energy from which they'd been conjured.
I-Ō blinked once, twice, as if waking from a dream. She looked around at the rooftop, at Deathstroke who was still frozen in place, at the few remaining knives that were fading from existence, and finally at Damian's concerned face.
"Checkmate," she said quietly, and then she collapsed.
Damian caught her before she hit the ground, cradling her small form against his chest as exhaustion finally claimed her. Using that much supernatural energy had drained her completely, and the blood from her broken nose had stained both their uniforms.
Deathstroke, meanwhile, remained motionless for several more seconds before slowly straightening. He looked at the spot where over a thousand throwing knives had hung in the air mere moments ago, then at the unconscious girl in Robin's arms.
"Next time," he said finally, sheathing his sword, "I'll remember to bring more explosives."
And with that, he was gone, vanishing into the Gotham night as suddenly as he had appeared, leaving the Titans to deal with the aftermath of witnessing what happened when someone truly pushed I-Ō past her breaking point.
As Jon landed beside them, his cape settling around his shoulders, he looked down at I-Ō's peaceful, sleeping face and shook his head in amazement.
"Remind me never to make her really mad," he said.
Damian adjusted his hold on her, being careful not to jostle her injured nose. "She wasn't mad," he said quietly, looking down at the girl who had nearly committed mass murder to avenge a simple punch to the face. "She was protecting someone she cares about. There's a difference."
As they prepared to return to Titans Tower, none of them spoke about what they had witnessed. But they all understood, on some fundamental level, that I-Ō's casual demeanor and blank expressions weren't signs of indifference—they were the calm surface of very deep, very dangerous waters.
And sometimes, even the calmest waters could become a tsunami.

The abomasnow, desperate to protect their little ones, and Alec, who promised to help them, gave everything they got to hold back the vicious alpha Garchomp. Alec, as he was pulling the sled with the two injured Snover, couldn't help but look back to see the dragon titan overpowering the two Pokemon at once, launching one back with a devastating dragon tail attack before slashing the other one ferociously, gaining the upper hand of two giant Pokemon with ease. This was the true power of a dragon type.
Alec swore he felt his heart stop when its glowing blood-red eyes met his. The garchomp's roar shook the ground, and it took one step, then two. Before long, it is approaching at full speed at the group intending to kill and raising its claw for a slash attack.
Suddenly, a call of an unknown Pokemon caught the Alpha's attention. A green blur dashed past the team, picking up the wing and snow. A swift dragon claw hit Garchomp in the face. The Garchomp shook off the damage the dragon-type attack stung, but it wasn't enough. It only made it angrier; letting out another earth-shattering roar before ending it in a growl, it shook its whole body, its eyes on its attacker as if trying to tell it something. Seeing Flygon as a worthy opponent as another dragon type challenged her. Flygon claws scratching against the ground. The disturbed snow settled, revealing the Pokemon and the trainer on her back. The Mirage Pokemon's tail whipped back and forth, her wings beating as she roared back, accepting the Alpha's challenge. Zoey hopped off her partner's back, ready for battle.
Zoey had rushed in at the nick of time. When she returned for her Excursion, she noticed that Cyllene was gone. When she heard that, she went to investigate a nearby distortion. Zoey put her goggles on and hopped back on the back of her dragon Pokemon.
All she saw was the Garchomp coming after them; she didn't think; her body reacted. And her Flygon was on the same page, dive-bombing into the distorted area, readying an attack. Thanks to her goggles, the wind whipping around in the time distortion did not bother her.
This Pokemon was foreign to Alec; its goggle-looking eyes and horn-like antennae mesmerized him. And the owner of cf the Flygon piqued interest as well. Controlling Pokemon was rare enough; however, controlling a dragon type known for their wildness, stubbornness, and power was. Taming one was almost unheard of, much less training one.
"Flygon! Dragon claw!" The red-haired trainer called out her yellow scarf, fluttering in the wind as her partner took off kicking up the snow. She was so fast she dodged the sharp claws of the alpha easily for unleashing another devastating attack. The mysterious trainer locked eyes with Alec for the first time. "GET OUT OF HERE! GO!" Zoey screamed; Flygon flew in directly to help distract the Garchomp and hopefully hold it back long enough for the team to get to safety. She had this handled. Alec grits his teeth. He wanted to help, too, but how? Cyllene grabbed his arm, stopping him from moving any further. " It's too dangerous! We need to get cover!" Alec just nodded as they sneaked away to the corner of the distortion, hiding behind a rock, tending to the sick snover as much as they could till they could get help from professionals.
To the large Garchomp, Flygon was merely a fly, but she had the upper hand. She was fast, and she hit hard. With her wings, she nimbly zipped, dodging Garchomp's tail, claws, and fangs. Her Rocktomb attack didn't leave a scratch on the Garchomp's rough skin, and she started feeling the recoil damage from her constant clawing. So she kept at a distance, flying in circles around the alpha, hitting it with a barrage of flamethrowers. However, Flygon got too close, and like a little pest, she got swatted with its powerful tail, its body getting dragged into the snowy ground, hitting a tree just behind her trainer. "Flygon!" Zoey yelled, rushing over to her partner as she rummaged through her bag for something to heal her best friend.
The Alpha was focused on the Pokemon it challenged. However, it realized it was getting help from the human, especially after he saw the red-haired human quickly give the Flygon something to heal her. Letting out a growl, the Garchomp set its sights on the red-haired human. Flygon's eyes widened as the Garchomp rushed at Zoey, preparing a slash attack. Flygon weakly cried out, catching her attention ."What's wrong bud?" Zoey responded calmly. With her snout, flygon pointed behind her. When Zoey looked behind her, her body acted on impulse. Flygon, being her most precious friend and the one in the worst shape she, shielded her with her body.
Alec's eyes widen in surprise, watching Zoey, who is much weaker than Flygon, put her life on the line for her. His heart rushed with emotion, fear, admiration, and something else he couldn't quite recall, all swirling into one. He wanted to jump into the battle to help Zoey; it hurt that Alec couldn't; he had to help where he could. He wasn't fast enough or strong enough, nor did he have a beast under his control to fight with. All he could do was back and watch.
However, before the alpha could land a hit, the two Abomasnow back for a rematch and rushed to Zoey's side, landing a powerful ice punch with all its strength aiming directly for Garchomp's face.
One of the abomasnow was considerably weakened.  And in no condition to fight however his mate could, when Zoey's Flygon got better, she took to the skies directly toward the alpha while the weak abomasnow, who used up its last bit of strength on that ice punch, collapsed. The mate looked back, watching the red-haired human rush toward the fallen Pokemon with a bottle of homemade Pokemon medicine, its eyes locked with Zoey. The mate knew to trust this new human.
"Abomasnow!" Zoey yelled, getting the mate's attention. "Garchomp is weak to ice attacks. Use ice punch!" The Abomasnow stood there quiet for a moment before nodding. It understood her! The ice-type Pokemon let out a roar before running at the Garchomp, readying her fist for a barrage of punches.
Flygon and the mother abomasnow quickly overwhelmed Garchomp with the combination of ice punches, Dragon Claws, and flamethrowers. Garchomp's strength was finally beginning to dwindle.
The Garchomp had had enough, and it had one more attack up. It shielded the two Pokemon before using Dragon Dance with a burst of energy; it sent both Flygon and the mother flying, buying it just enough time.
Now, it was his turn.
Its mouth begins to glow in a blue light, getting hotter and hotter, steam coming from its maw. Zoey grits her teeth; she knows exactly what attack he will use, the dreaded Draco meteor… this was bad… The Dragon Tail attack damaged Flygon quite a lot, and there was no way Flygon would survive a Draco meteor. And there was no way the mother Abomasnow could fight on her own. But the two Pokemon trying to recover will not get to the alpha in time before it unleashes its great attack.
However, before it shot the devastating attack, its eyes widened in fear as a Ghostly flame hit it in the throat, causing a large explosion. That explosion caused by the flame greatly damaged the failed Draco meteor recoil. Garchomp was weak and severely outnumbered by this new Pokemon, who had not shown its face was significantly more powerful than itself. The Garchomp let out a wine as it ran with its tail tucked between its legs.
Not long after the Garchomp left, the Distortion dispersed the violent winds, slowly calming down. When the threat was finally gone, the two Abomasnow practically collapsed on the ground, catching their breath. Flygon was exhausted, but it didn't stop her usual cheery self, practically trotting over to her trainer with her tail wagging.
Alec has been sneaking glances throughout the fight, watching how Zoey commanded and even protected her Flygon. Zoey was a brave individual; even in the face of danger, standing up to an alpha, she was definitely deserving of the dragon-type Pokemon who seemed to care a lot about her. Enough to protect her with her life.
As Zoey rested, tending to her Flygon and the two parents and, luckily, other than being banged up from the battle, she had no major injuries. Cyllene yelled out for Zoey to meet them at the village so they could tend to the sick Snover. Zoey nodded.
As she watched them leave. She noticed something in the snow… she knew after the battle, Alec ran ahead as if he was looking for someone. His footprint in the snow, along with the footprints of a large unknown Pokemon, seem to fade as if disappearing Into thin air. Maybe it was the Pokemon that helped finally defeat the alpha… judging by that ghostly Flame and the way its tracks disappeared instantaneously, it must have been a ghost type… but what ghost type was it… whatever it was, it wasn't a Pokemon she had seen. Its pawprints looked vaguely familiar, but she couldn't pinpoint what ghost type would have tracks like these.

Among the various approaches available, Progressive Web Apps (PWAs), Native apps, Hybrid apps, Single-Page Applications (SPAs), and Multi-Platform apps (MP) are the most popular choices.  Each of these options has its own strengths and weaknesses.  In this comprehensive app development guide, we will compare and contrast these different approaches to help you make an informed decision.
Tumblr media
Progressive Web Apps (PWAs):
PWAs are web applications that are designed to look and function like native mobile apps.  They are built using web technologies such as HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and are accessible through a web browser.  PWAs are highly responsive, installable, and can work offline, making them an excellent choice for businesses looking to reach a wider audience across multiple platforms.  Additionally, PWAs can be easily updated without requiring users to download new versions.
Native Apps:
Native apps are developed for specific platforms like iOS or Android using platform-specific languages (Swift or Objective-C for iOS, Java or Kotlin for Android).  They offer the best performance, user experience, and access to device-specific features like camera, GPS, and push notifications.  However, developing native apps requires separate codebases for different platforms, resulting in higher development costs and longer development cycles.
Hybrid Apps:
Hybrid apps are a combination of web and native apps.  They are built using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript and are wrapped in a native shell that enables them to be distributed through app stores.  Hybrid apps provide a balance between cost-effectiveness and access to native features.  However, they may not deliver the same performance as native apps, and certain device-specific functionalities might be limited.
Single-Page Applications (SPAs):
SPAs are web applications that load a single HTML page and dynamically update the content as users interact with the app.  They offer a seamless user experience similar to native apps and can be accessed through web browsers.  SPAs are easier to develop and maintain compared to native apps, but they may not provide the same level of performance and access to device features.
Multi-Platform Apps (MP):
Multi-platform apps are developed using cross-platform frameworks like React Native, Flutter, or Xamarin.  These frameworks allow developers to write code once and deploy it across multiple platforms, saving time and effort.  Multi-platform apps can achieve near-native performance and provide access to device features, making them a popular choice for businesses targeting multiple platforms.
When considering app development companies in India or Gujarat, it's essential to find a partner that understands your specific requirements and has expertise in the chosen development approach.  Android App development companies in India and Gujarat offer a wide range of services, including native app development, hybrid app development, and PWA development.  Similarly, Mobile App development companies in India and Gujarat can provide expertise in developing SPAs and MP apps.

Mobile App Development Secrets for 2025
Tumblr media
In our hyper-connected world, mobile apps drive everything—from grabbing your morning coffee to handling your finances. Behind every amazing app lies a technology stack that not only powers great performance but also sets the stage for future growth. Whether you're starting with a minimum viable product (MVP) or mapping out a full-scale digital strategy, choosing the right development tools is critical.
What Are Mobile App Development Technologies?
Mobile app technologies include all the programming languages, frameworks, platforms, and tools used to build apps for your smartphone or tablet. Think of it like crafting your favorite recipe: you need the right ingredients to create something truly special. The choices you make here influence the development speed, cost, performance, and overall user experience of your app.
Native vs. Cross-Platform Development: Finding Your Fit
One of the biggest early choices is whether to go native or cross-platform. Let’s break it down:
Native Mobile App Development
Native apps are developed specifically for one platform—either iOS or Android, using platform-centric languages (Swift for iOS or Kotlin for Android). This approach offers best-in-class performance, smoother integration with device hardware, and top-tier user experiences.
Pros:
Best performance
Full access to device features (think camera, GPS, etc.)
Seamless updates with the operating system
Cons:
Requires two separate codebases if you need both iOS and Android
Typically more time-consuming and expensive
Ideal for high-demand sectors such as banking, gaming, healthcare, or AR/VR applications.
Cross-Platform Mobile App Development
Frameworks like Flutter and React Native let you craft a single codebase that deploys across both iOS and Android. This approach is great for faster development, reduced costs, and consistent design across platforms—but might trade off a bit on native performance.
Pros:
Quicker turnaround and lower development costs
Consistent UI experience across devices
Cons:
May have limited access to some native device features
Slight performance differences compared to native solutions
Perfect for startups, MVPs, and businesses with tighter budgets.
The Leading Frameworks in 2025
Let’s look at some of the coolest frameworks shaking up mobile app development this year:
Flutter
Language: Dart
By: Google
Flutter is renowned for its beautifully customizable UIs and high performance across different platforms using just one codebase. It’s a favorite if you need a dynamic, pixel-perfect design without the extra overhead.
React Native
Language: JavaScript
By: Meta (Facebook)
If you’re from a web development background, React Native feels like home. It uses reusable components to speed up prototyping and quickly bring your app to life.
Kotlin Multiplatform
Language: Kotlin
By: JetBrains and Google
A newer, exciting option, Kotlin Multiplatform allows for sharing core business logic across platforms while giving you the flexibility to build native user interfaces for each.
Swift and SwiftUI
Language: Swift
By: Apple
For purely iOS-focused projects, Swift combined with SwiftUI offers robust performance and a seamless integration with the Apple ecosystem, perfect for apps needing advanced animations and responsiveness.
Hybrid Approaches
Using web technologies like HTML, CSS, and JavaScript wrapped in native containers, hybrid apps (via frameworks like Ionic or Apache Cordova) let you quickly convert an existing website into a mobile app. They’re great for rapid development but might not always match the performance of native apps.
Trends Shaping Mobile App Development
Looking ahead to 2025, several trends are redefining how we build mobile apps:
Next-Level AI and Machine Learning: Integrating on-device AI (using tools like Core ML or TensorFlow Lite) can help personalize experiences and power innovative features like voice assistants.
Wearable Integration: With the rise of smartwatches and fitness trackers, native development for wearables is booming.
5G and Real-Time Experiences: As 5G networks expand, expect more apps to offer real-time features and smoother interactions, especially in areas like gaming and AR.
Low-Code/No-Code Platforms: For rapid prototyping or internal tools, platforms that simplify app creation without deep coding knowledge are becoming increasingly popular.
Choosing the Right Tech for Your App
Before you jump into development, ask yourself:
What’s Your Budget?
Limited funds? Cross-platform options like Flutter or React Native might be perfect.
Budget is less of an issue? Native development can deliver that extra performance boost.
How Fast Do You Need to Launch?
If time-to-market is key, cross-platform frameworks speed up the process.
For a more robust, long-term solution, native apps may be worth the wait.
Which Features Are Essential?
Need deep hardware integration? Native is the way to go.
For straightforward functionality, a hybrid approach can work wonders.
What’s Your Team’s Expertise?
A team comfortable with web technologies might excel with React Native.
If your developers are seasoned in iOS or Android, diving into Swift or Kotlin may yield the best results.
Final Thoughts
There isn’t a magic bullet in mobile app development—the best choice always depends on your unique objectives, budget, timeline, and team. If you’re looking for high performance and don’t mind investing extra time, native development is ideal. However, if speed and cost-efficiency are your top priorities, cross-platform frameworks like Flutter or React Native offer tremendous value.

Web Development vs App Development: Which is Better for Beginners?
In today’s digital era, two of the most in-demand career paths areweb development and app development. Whether you are a student, a freelancer, or someone looking to transition into tech, understanding the differences between these two fields can help you make an informed choice. If you're also considering building a personal brand or sharing your tech journey, you might be wondering how to start blogging in India. Let’s explore both topics together.
Web Development vs App Development
Web development involves building websites and web applications that run on browsers. It includes front-end development (HTML, CSS, JavaScript) and back-end development (PHP, Node.js, Python, etc.). Web developers focus on creating responsive, accessible, and SEO-friendly websites.
App development, on the other hand, refers to building mobile applications that run on smartphones and tablets. These apps can be for Android (Java, Kotlin) or iOS (Swift, Objective-C), or even cross-platform using Flutter or React Native.
Pros of Web Development:
Easier to get started; many online tutorials and free resources are available.
Greater flexibility with freelance and remote jobs.
One codebase works across platforms (thanks to responsive design).
Pros of App Development:
High demand in the mobile-first world.
Better integration with device hardware (camera, GPS, etc.).
Often pays more for specialized roles.
If you're just starting out, web development might be a better entry point due to its simplicity and lower hardware requirements. However, if you're excited about mobile technology and want to build user-friendly apps, app development is equally rewarding.
