So I was researching Soresu for a fic (Tarre Vizsla was totally a master of Soresu) and I finally actually took in why it's the way of the mynock

It's an endurance based form that lets you continue on for a long time using momentum, which is why Obi-Wan constantly does flourishes he isn't actually showing off, he's actually building momentum so that he gains more power with less energy. Probably doesn't work like that in real life, I don't know about swords, but that's the explanation.

Anyway what Soresu does is gain momentum and sap your opponents endurance like a mynock saps power from ships and I really love that someone thought about all this .

honestly of all the design choices they made for Raphael, the stupid little jingle boots just beat absolutely everything. there's the devil, big, bad, with giant wings and power-hungry plans. he's torturing people in his dungeon. and he's got boots. with little bows on it. and tiny bells. he tries to elegantly approach you with a poem to lure you into selling your soul but you just hear him slowly jingling in from the distance

Phantom poked the letters that had been seared into his ribcage for the umpteenth time. He didn't know who Tim Drake was or how the name got there like a blackout drunk tattoo showing up after a fun night.

But Danny didn't have any fun nights recently. Only ghost hunting and being chased by other ghost hunters. Both were way more painful and traumatic than they sound.

Worse still, he had no idea where he was. Okay, so he knew the city's name was Gotham, but that didn't mean anything to him. He had never heard of Gotham or Batman or the Justice League. Or Tim Drake. Was he trying to summon a ghost or something? Is that why he had this guys name on his ribs? Was rich boy trying to force him into some kind of magical slavery?!
