Hii,
If your up for it could u write a fruity four x reader imagine based off of the song tongues and teeth by the crane wives where reader runs into a ex that used to treat them horribly and made them believe that all they could do was hurt other people triggering those old feelings leading them to pull away from Steve, Eddie, Robin, and Nancy
(Sorry for the long ask 🤍)
Poison (fruity four x g!n reader)
Tumblr media
Or, You run into your ex and find yourself reflecting on your past self, do you deserve the love you find yourself surrounded with? (3.4k)
Anon, Sorry this took so long, I love the Crane Wives sm I was really excited by this request so I wanted to make it perfect and then it accidentally got really long and filled with irrelevant scenes that I had to scrap and will probably be posted at some point. I hope you like it lmk <3 Thank you so much for the request
Reader was in a toxic, abusive relationship (No scenes of this relationship and it is only briefly mentioned that it was abusive). Reader in this fic was mentioned to be an asshole in the past, but it's up to you whether she truly was or if she just thinks that bc of their ex.
Warnings: mentions of toxic, abusive relationships. Reader thinks she deserved to be hurt, the ex now has a baby. Ex threw things at the reader. Food, depictions of cooking and eating.
“You remember the voices Eddie taught you?”
Steve sighs into his bowl of lucky charms, stirring the spoon around restlessly. His cereal had gone soggy, something he hated, but he hadn’t had a single spoonful since he sat down.
“I remember,” He mumbled, looking at the milk in his bowl as if it would conjure up all the answers of the universe for him. You rub a warm hand up and down his back to try and soothe him, it works, a bit.
Then Eddie's head is poking over Steve’s shoulder, eyeing Steve’s bowl in a way that you know means trouble. Instead of the usual playful spat, that always ends with Steve reluctantly sharing his bowl of cereal, Steve passes Eddie the spoon without argument.
Eddie kisses his cheek sweetly, rubbing his nose into the chub of his cheek before digging in. “Wanna give us a taste?” Eddie questions, mouth full.
Steve’s cheeks are pink as he shakes his head, his perfectly styled hair not moving an inch. You can taste all the hairspray he’s used this morning. You keep your warm palm against his back, hoping some of it will seep into his bones and make him a little less tense.
He’s been like this all week and you know he won’t be able to relax until the day is over. Getting a placement at a kindergarten had been all Steve had talked about all year, all he had been looking forward to. Now it was happening, he was terrified.
Today was make or break, it was his first attempt at a storytime.
He had spent a long time researching books with Nancy and had rehearsed reading the book to you and Robin and had practised his voices with Eddie. You thought all this made him overqualified for the position.
There couldn’t be a person out there who cared so much about this. It was just Steve all over, he cared so much. He loved so much. It made you want to swaddle him in your arms and keep him safe forever.
“If any of those punks make fun of you let me know and I’ll kick their ass,” Eddie garbled around another mouthful of lucky charms.
“You think they’ll make fun of me,” Steve worried, his first clenching around the countertop.
“Eddie!” Nancy chided. Eddie almost lept from his seat at Nancy’s sudden appearance. She stood in the doorway, as perfect as ever. Brown briefcase held tightly in her hand, her blazer hanging perfectly on her small frame. “You’re overthinking this Steve, it’ll be fine,” Nancy assured, kissing the top of Steve’s head. “And for the last time Eddie, no kicking children,”
“Some kids deserve it” He argues.
“Ready?” Nancy asks you, ignoring Eddie, much to his annoyance.
You cast a wary look at Steve, you were reluctant to leave him alone like this, but you were the girl’s lift to work, so you had to trust Eddie would find a better way to comfort your boyfriend than his current tactic.
“Ready” You confirmed, checking your reflection quickly in the toaster.
Nancy pressed a kiss to the back of Eddie's head, eyelashes fluttering against his frizzy hair. Then she moved to Steve, lips lingering a little longer on his cheek.
“Ro-”
“Here!” Robin yelled, interrupting Nancy’s call of her name. She had a reputation for being late that she was trying to put behind her.
“Let's go!” Nancy sang, holding your arm in one hand and wrapping her other around Robin’s waist to pull her towards the door.
“Good luck Steve!” The three of you called together.

You’re still thinking about Steve and wondering how his story time went as you’re organising the vinyl at work. You wonder if you should call him, trying to remember when the kid's nap time is so you can get him on the phone. You don’t want to interrupt, but you can’t help but worry about him.
In between thoughts of Steve, you’re trying to keep track of which ABBA albums need to be restocked.
You’re so busy thinking of ways to celebrate or cheer him up in case of disaster, that you miss the chime of the bell.
“Still working here huh?” You freeze at the familiar voice, all thoughts leaving your mind. The one voice you wished you’d never have to hear again. “Some people just aren’t meant to change I guess,”
You stand up, brushing off the dust on your knees. You hate how you’re immediately flooded with embarrassment. “Can I help you?” You ask in the friendliest voice you can muster.
They take it in offence, hands held aloft in surrender, “Hey, I didn’t mean anything by it, you really haven’t changed at all,” They laugh, your heart beating faster in your chest at the sound of it. You hate how they still have such an effect on you.
“Did you want something?” You ask again, colder this time. Letting the hatred you feel seep through. Your arms, crossed over your chest, erupt in goosebumps. You can feel your heartbeat like it’s in your ears, pounding again and again. It’s an effort to remember how to breathe without it sounding rugged.
You were both bad for each other, that’s what you settled on after the fact. They would tear you to shreds and act as if you were the one in the wrong. You could be just as cruel, the relationship was a toxic one and it turned you both sour.
It took so many nights of talking and looking back on the relationship to realise that you didn’t need to be the person they painted you to be. You hadn’t been perfect, no one was, but you felt you had learnt from your mistakes and hoped they had done the same.
“Thought we could have an adult conversation, but obviously not,” They sneered, tone condescending.
They looked around the store you’re usually proud of with disdain. “God, I’m so fucking glad we broke up,” They laugh, flicking the sleeve of a vinyl, making you scowl. You feel the same but it doesn’t make it hurt any less. “My life has been so much better ever since you left it,”
It’s like a dagger to the chest. If you were in your right mind, maybe you would wonder why if they felt like that they would seek you out. Especially since they don’t even bother to buy anything before they leave.

When Robin had last seen you, you were pushing her out of the car, trying to stifle your giggles.
In her rush to get out of the house on time, she forgot her scarf. You had bundled her up in your own which looked ridiculous. Eddie had knitted it for you, but then he got so caught up in seeing how long he could make it that when you wore it, it went down past your knees.
You thought it looked great, but it was a bit of a tripping hazard so when it came to Robin you wrapped it around her neck over and over until it was an appropriate length. Only she couldn’t move her neck to look down. You had been laughing at her the whole drive, much to her annoyance.
Now all she wanted was for you to look at her and laugh, but you didn’t even spare her a glance when she walked into the house, or when she unspooled the long scarf from around her neck.
You’re still in your work clothes, even though you must have gotten home an hour ago at least. The TV is playing credits, but you’re watching them like they’re the most interesting thing you’ve ever seen.
All she wants to do is touch you. She restrains herself though, she knows people don’t always want to be touched and it can make things worse.
As if you can tell that she’s about to ask you something, you change channels and turn up the volume on the TV. You lean against the side of the sofa, further out of her reach and feign interest in a Miami Vice episode.
Getting the message she leaves you to it and joins Steve and Nancy in the kitchen, who are chatting over the kitchen counter. Nancy has already started making a pot of soup.
Steve is dutifully making grilled cheese sandwiches and plain slices of toast. They work in unison, Nancy passing Steve the butter before he even needs to ask, Steve wrapping one arm around her hip when he joins her on the hob, warming up the pan so he can toast the bread.
He’s left two cheese toasties to the side, to be grilled when Eddie gets home.
“Not waiting?” Robin asks, catching the pair's attention. Nancy smiles, wordlessly passing her wooden spoon to Steve who accepts it without question. She holds Robin tightly in her arms, pressing kisses to her cheeks. She didn’t realise how much she needed a hug until now and how much better it would make her feel after your rejection.
“Thought some food might cheer everyone up,” Nancy explains, nodding towards the living room. Robins nods, squeezing Nancy back, hoping she won’t let go of her anytime soon.
“Did she say anything?” Steve asks, looking away from the soup briefly.
Robin shakes her head sadly and Nancy makes a sympathetic noise in her ear, rubbing her manicured hand up and down Robin’s back. “What about you?” Robin asks Nancy.
“Nothing,” Nancy sighs, pulling away from Robin when she realises that Steve has stopped stirring her soup. She bats his hand away and hip-checks him out of the way, deciding to take charge again. At least that's something she has control over.
The rest of the dinner is made in relative silence, Robin sets out the cutlery on the living room table, along with everyone’s preferred drinks. At one point Robin can tell you’re about to make an excuse not to eat at all, but a raised brow from Nancy has you sinking to the floor.
Robin’s eyes have been nervously flickering from her soup to you. She’ll see your lips part for a moment like you’re about to say something, but you close them just as fast, swallowing down soup and tearing at your bread.
You all eat hunched over the living room table, Eddie is missed even more than ever as silence haunts the table. No one can work out what to say.
You can feel yourself putting a dampener on everything but feel so shaken from the interaction this afternoon that it’s all that you can think about. You’ve heard people say their exes were the worst things that happened to them, but you never thought you would have been one of those.
Had you truly been that bad?
When Nancy leans over to grab your hand you smile at her or attempt to. Then when she lets go your hand sinks off the table and down to your thigh out of reach.
What if one day they thought about you like that? What if one day they’re glad that you broke up? They continue without you, happier without you.
It’s then that you remember, to your horror, all about Steve’s story time. The cake you had planned to buy him in celebration.  How could you be so selfish, forgetting about something Steve had been worried about for so long?
“How did story time go?” You ask, timidly.
Robin and Nancy are patient, but Steve has never been. He’s going out of his mind with worry. Perhaps it's because he’s suddenly lost a girlfriend before. Thought she had loved him the way he loved her until she pulled the rug out from under his feet and told him it wasn’t working and that they were nothing.
It took so long for him to come back from that, even though he’s over the girl who said it, he still occasionally fears that all this love could be fleeting.
He smiles, abandoning the last of his toastie to thread his greasy fingers between your own. They slip against your hand and when he squeezes, he tries to push as much love into it as he can. “It went really well,”
“Yeah?” You ask more enthusiastically. Steve’s smiles have always been contagious. The pretty curve of his smile and the movement of his freckles as his cheeks apple, it’s the kind of smile that makes you believe in love at first sight.
“Mrs Lemon wants me to read again tomorrow,” Steve grins.
Everyone at the table erupts in excitement at Steve’s news. Robin drops the last bit of her toastie into her soup and has to fish it out with her spoon, fingers turning red in her attempts. Nancy's hand rubs up and down Steve’s thigh, in congratulations for his good news and for bringing you out of your melancholy.
Robin has you hold up her glass to her lips so she can take a sip of water without getting her soupy fingers all over the glass. It causes her to dribble water all over the table and she can’t even find it in her to be embarrassed when it results in giggles and your fingers brushing across her chin to catch the drips.
When everyone finished you’re quick to gather everyone's bowls and dismiss any help. You want to feel useful after sulking on the sofa while everyone else has made dinner.
-
This whole weekend you had been a whirlwind of productivism. Unless Eddie was forcing you to sit on the sofa with his head in your lap, you were doing something for someone else. Any errand anyone was putting off was finished by you that weekend. You had gotten the juice stains out of Steve’s jumper, sewn up the hole in Robin’s jacket pocket, reorganised Nancy’s toiletry cupboard and buffed her briefcase. Eddie had to coerce you into a cuddle to stop you from sewing up the holes in his favourite socks.
He hadn’t attended last night's dinner but had heard all about it from a concerned Nancy and spent the whole weekend attached at your side.
He did everything one-handed, not wanting to spend a second not touching you. It was so out of character for you to be so withdrawn. Steve and Robin assumed it was a bad day or more specifically a bad customer.
Nancy and Eddie had a gut feeling it was something more important. You didn’t often keep things to yourself, you found talking about problems usually stopped them from bothering you so much. If whatever happened hadn’t felt fixable to you by a rant and a cuddle, something must have happened.
Eddie wanted to be there, ready, for when you wanted to tell him. He never wanted anyone to feel as alone as he once felt, drowning in his worries, before his uncle took him in.
Nancy, though claiming she was taking a more relaxed approach, glanced at you about every two seconds, checking your reactions.
So when you had said you needed to go out to the store, Nancy and Eddie shared a look and insisted they both needed to come with you. Eddie for some smokes and Nancy for a specific body lotion she claimed would be too hard for you to find.
They were so obvious it would be annoying if they weren’t so endearing.
-
You ended up in Bradleys.
You had been antsy to get in, buy the cake you planned to get for Steve on Friday and then transform yourself into the partner your lovers deserved.
Instead, Eddie had taken his sweet time driving you all there, even though normally he called the speed limit a suggestion. Then he convinced you that you needed to walk up and down each aisle to make sure you didn’t ‘forget’ anything. It would have been an accomplishment to forget anything when you only have one item to obtain each.
The basket hooked on one arm, you hooked through the other,  Eddie was strutting down the isles bobbing his head along to the pop songs he ‘hated’. Even though Eddie’s reasoning was ridiculous, it did feel relaxing to take your time walking through the various aisles together.
Eddie’s fingers were tracing up and down Nancy’s spine as she held two types of tea in her hand, reading the backs carefully. “Do you think these work?” She asked, holding out the packages for you to inspect, two different teas both promising to help with sleep.
You took one out of her hands, to inspect the ingredient list. Robin’s mum had said something about lavender last time you had spoken, but you weren’t sure that was digestible.
“If you need help sleeping, I’ve got the perfect solution” Eddie teased, arms snaking around Nancy’s waist and squeezing as he dipped his face against her neck. Nancy shivered, feeling his cold nose trace her neck and his curls tickle her collarbones, the basket digging into her sides.
“Stop!” She said, trying not to smile, wiggling out of his arms and lightly slapping at his arms, “I can’t take you anywhere,”
Eddie pressed a wet kiss to her cheek. His arm went over her shoulder, grabbing the box of tea out of Nancy’s hand and dropping it into the basket. “Mrs Norris used to drink that one,” He explained, taking the other one from your hand to put it back on the shelf. “Always knocked her out cold when she was supposed to be babysitting me”
Nancy huffed, crossing her hands across her chest as Eddie encouraged you both to the end of the aisle, hands wandering. “You have no shame” She scolded, cheeks burning at the wink he gave her in response. Still, he dropped his hands from her but continued to lead you both down to the frozen section, in search of ice cream.
She stopped at a display of lip balms, letting the two of you go on ahead. Her gaze did not linger on his fingers curled around the basket handle, or the dip of his spine that his cropped band shirt exposed.
You were still smiling over Eddie as you watched him search the freezers for the giant tub of Neapolitan-flavoured ice cream. He always made a big display of it, sometimes he and Robin would compete to see who could keep their hands in the freeze the longest.
Nancy soon floated behind you, her floral perfume altering you to her presence long before she slid her hand into your own. She leaned into your space, so close you could smell the curl cream she and Eddie shared. The pair, despite their differences, had a surprising amount in common.
“How mad do you think he’ll be if we refuse to hold his hand when he gets the ice cream?” Nancy whispered.
“I think we’ll hear about it for the rest of the night,”
Eddie cranes his head, looking you both up and down conspiringly. He fished the last tub from the back of the freezer and dropped it into the basket with a thud. It crushes the flimsy box of tea, but Eddie’s attention is on the guilty expression you’re wearing.
He holds his freezing hands out expectantly, wanting you to come and warm him up after his valiant efforts of searching in the freezers.
Nancy shakes her head at him, but his doe eyes can’t hold you off for long so soon he’s holding one of your hands in both his. You flinch at his touch and he pouts childishly, lashes fluttering.
“I risk my fingers for you, and this is the thanks I get,” Eddie huffs at Nancy over the top of your head, “At least you love me, sweetheart,” He coos kissing the side of your head.
“You hardly risked your fingers,” Nancy says rolling her eyes as she tugs your hand to lead you down to the toiletries aisle. You think half-heartedly about the cake, vanilla and shaped like a heart, that you wanted to get Steve, but then think of the crushed box of tea, it might be best to leave it for last.
“I was very close to hypothermia,” Eddie dramatises, flexing his fingers against yours. You feel the cold bump of his rings, they’re usually cold but feel even more so after being in the freezer.
Nancy ignores him and walks straight to the body lotion, hand reaching out for her usual choice, but lingering on a couple of new scents. Strawberries & Cream sounds like it would smell pretty nice, plus the bottle matches her nails.
She picks it up, dropping your hand in the process and uncaps the lid to give it a smell. Eddie takes your dropped hand before it can even fall to your side, now, he threads his fingers through yours with a giddy smile.
He pecks a kiss on your nose catching you off guard and pulls you off to the side next to the baby powders, moving you away from an oncoming cart.
You lean in to kiss his own but are brought out of your lovesick stupor by a harsh cough.  Eddie glares at the culprit, kissing your lips extra firm. The person coughs again and you push Eddie away from you and try to move out of the way, catching sight of the person coughing at you.
It’s always a shock to see your ex unexpectedly, it’s even worse when they’re with a beautiful partner and they have a child sitting in the cart tugging a little plush to their chest. It shocks you for about a million reasons, the most hurtful being that the entire time you had been together they claimed to never want children.
Yet here, in front of you, is the clear proof that they did.
“Nancy!”
It’s a small town, everyone knows everyone. Still, it shocks you that their new partner knows Nancy. You feel so different from your old self that a reminder of it is terrifying.
Suddenly you’re scared, what had your ex told them? How badly had they painted you? what if they tell Nancy?
The worst part is that if they were to tell her, it would have been entirely your fault. How could you be mad at someone for telling the truth? You hadn’t been the greatest partner in the past, but you were trying to make up for that. It felt like you had made up for that.
You make eye contact with your ex, who isn’t even trying to hide their disappointment at seeing you twice in such a short amount of time, still, it’s obvious by the conversation Nancy is getting into that they’ll be standing around for a while.
Your eyes try to look at everything, but the person who’s fucked with your head for the last couple of days. The child, old enough that it must have been born within a year of your breakup, hair a dark brown colour, coils around their shoulders. They look so happy, a picture-perfect family.
You excuse yourself, using the cake you need as an excuse to go to a different aisle. Eddie tries to go after you but is cut off by an old lady jamming her shopping cart in front of him with a rude huff, muttering about young people these days. She runs over his foot and he almost takes down the entire shelving unit when he backs into it.
When Eddie finds you, standing in front of an empty shelf, sniffing into your hands, he’s crushed.
-
The drive back had been awkward.
Nancy had found you both and sent Eddie to pay for everything while she took you to the car. You refused to cite anything but the cake’s being sold out as the reason for your tears, but it’s clear that there was something more.
It isn’t until you’re home, that the extent of your upset is clear. At the supermarket, you had clung onto Nancy and Eddie for life, feeling personally devastated at the thought of either of them leaving you.
Now leaving was all you could think of doing.
You had packed your bag, unpacked and re-packed it again. You just couldn’t get it out of your head, how much happier everyone might be without you. Your last relationship played through your mind like a reel.
All the times your exe had yelled at you, called you a bitch, the problem. You could be forgetful, self-absorbed, hurtful. You thought you had changed, but you had proved yourself wrong on Friday, ignoring Steve’s accomplishment to stew in your self-obsession.
There was a knock on your door, but it was a warning rather than a request as Steve and Robin barged in without waiting for a response.
“Are you ok?” Robin asked, skirting around your clutter to land on the bed, beside the duffle bag you were about to re-pack. “Actually no, I know you’re not ok, so don’t bother lying,” Robin huffed, pushing the fly aways from her face and staring at you in determination.
Her hands darted out to your sides, holding you firmly in place. On her knees, on your bed, she begged you to tell her exactly what was wrong, “You always feel better after talking to me, I can help you, whatever it is. If it’s working at the vinyl store we’ll get you a new job, you could come to work with me in the museum archives?”
“It’s not…it’s not that,” You stutter, fingers feeling tingly as your eyes dart nervously from Robin to Steve, who hasn’t moved from standing at the door. You can’t see his expression, but the vein on his neck is close to bursting.
I’m the problem, you think, but you’re all too sweet to realise and you’ll be too kind to tell me when you do work it out.
Robin’s nose bumps your sternum bringing your attention back to her. She presses a kiss to the swell of your stomach. Her hands are ever wandering, frantic in their need to comfort you, but unsure where to go. “You can tell me,” She promises, her sea-blue eyes boring into yours. Your eyes water as you try to think of what to say.
“You’re leaving,” Steve’s voice is cold, and his stare is even colder. He nods to the duffle bag on the bed, glaring at it with the heat of a thousand suns.
Robin looks at the bag that she hadn’t registered, shaking her head in disbelief, until she sees the crumbling expression on your face and realises it’s true. Her hands drop from your body and she darts from the bed like a person burnt. She brushes past Steve, rushing out of your room and you can hear her fast footsteps retreat down the hall.
“You…you don’t understand,” You try to defend, hands falling into fists in frustration.
“No, I understand,” Steve spits, arms crossed across his chest, muscles clenched, “You’re just like her, only so much worse,”
“Ste-”
“Don’t” Steve scoffs “You promised us you wouldn’t do this, promised me.” His voice breaks and he has to turn his face to the side, collect himself and wipe the rouge tears that he let escape.
You sink in on yourself, “It’s…it’s for the best, I’m…I,”
Steve laughs, fist banging against the door frame, startling you, you have to steady your hands on the bed to stop yourself from falling.
Your stomach lurches, it doesn’t feel right. You’re last breakup hadn’t ended like this, they hadn’t been mad at you for leaving, they had been mad you hadn’t broken up sooner. That they hadn’t been the one to dump you.
You fear you might have made a terrible mistake, but then remember what they had said when you broke up. That you were poison, that you ruined everything that you touched, how much happier they had been before you. Now you knew how much happier they were without you afterwards too.
They would thank you in the long run.
“If you walk out this door right now, I’m never going to forgive you,” Steve’s heart was cracking. Just like last time, he was caught off guard. His voice was stern, but his expression was heartbreaking.
“Steve!” Yelled Nancy, pushing past him in the doorway and walking over to you instead. Her hair was half dry, one side still dripping water onto the collar of her shirt.
Eddie, hair wrapped in the band shirt he had worn to the store, mirrored Nancy, only taking Steve into his arms instead of you. “Let’s all just calm down a second,” Nancy suggested, pulling you down to sit on her lap. She threw your duffle bag off the bed, sending it clattering into your wardrobe.
“Take a deep breath,” Eddie suggested, palm warm over Steve’s chest. Robin fiddled with Steve’s fingers, eyeing everyone warily. Steve matched his breathing to Eddie’s, lips wobbling as Eddie’s thumb wiped the sticky tears from his cheeks.
If you felt awful before, now you feel diabolical.
“I’m sorry, I’m so sorry,” You confessed, trying to push out of Nancy's soothing hold because you felt so undeserving. She had a surprising amount of strength though and held you firm against her chest, “I didn’t mean, I don’t want to hurt anybody, this is exactly what I don’t want, I just want you all to be happy”
Robin, tentatively let go of Steve’s hand, who Eddie was leading further into the bedroom. Nancy wrangled you so you were leaning against her where she sat against the headboard. Her head resting on your shoulder while her hand was rubbing up and down your back.
Robin sat down at the foot of the bed, hand reaching out carefully to rub at your leg. “Please can you explain? So we can all understand, why you want to…leave,” Robin asked, hardly able to say the word.
The bed dipped as Eddie sat himself down to the side of you and Nancy, but Steve still refused to sit, standing up with his thighs touching the bed, hand clasped tightly in Eddie’s.
You took a deep breath and tried to explain “I saw, my ex, first they visited me at work-”
Steve’s grip on Eddie white-knuckled as he scoffed, assuming the worst. You shrunk further back into Nancy making her glare at Steve who rolled his eyes. He was still sure you were about to rip out their hearts.
“Go on,” Nancy encouraged.
“He said, he was glad we broke up and at first I just thought, yeah me too, but then I started thinking and,I was awful,”
“Did you start thinking that? Or did he make you think that?” Nancy asked.
“Well, I mean, I guess he implied it and he always used to say it, like I would ruin things and he would throw things, sometimes, when I did something bad,”
Steve sat down on the bed, looking at you tearfully, “He would throw things at you?” Now he felt himself crying for an entirely different reason.
“It wasn’t- I was just as bad,”
“Did you throw things at them?” Questioned Robin.
You shook your head, “No, but I de-”
“I know you’re not about to say you deserved it, no one ever deserves that sweetheart,”
“I was an asshole, I was cruel and hurtful.” You explained, “You can say they shouldn’t have hurt me, but I hurt them just as much with every word I said. How can I deserve to be happy like this? I’ve been trying to change, but what if i can’t”
Steve feels a rush of sympathy through his chest. The anger that surged through his body turned from a fiery rage to a simmering heat, directed at whoever made you feel like this. He knows exactly how it feels to try to change, but not be given a chance.
To this day the title of King Steve follows him around like a bad dream. He’s taken responsibility for his actions and changed for the better, but for a long time, he wondered if it would ever be enough to make up for the hurt he had caused. Did he deserve the friendship Robin offered, that had led him down the path to this?
You gulped eyes starting to water. “I just don’t want to ruin things, I don’t want to hurt anyone I love again, I’m so sorry Steve, I already hurt you so much and if I stay I might-”
Steve shuffled forward, pulling you roughly from Nancy’s embrace into his own. His strong arms wrapped around you and his tear-stained cheeks stuck to your own.  “The only way you could truly hurt me is if you left right now,” He pulled himself out of your embrace so he could hold his face in your hands.
“You deserve to be happy, you deserve a chance to change,” Steve promises, tacky lips pressing into the top of your head over and over again, trying to let it sink in.
“For the record, this version of you you’re describing, I don’t think I’ve ever met them,” Eddie says, palm firm as it rubs up and down Steve’s quaking back.
“But I- I forgot all about Steve’s big day,” You huff, voice thick with frustration.
“Honey, you spent the morning comforting me and asked me about it when you got home.” Steve placates.
“Not right away though, I sat on the sofa for ages, just thinking about myself,”
“Think that’s understandable after the run-in you had,” Steve’s hand keeps a warm grip on your cheeks, eyes softening as he kisses underneath your teary eye.
“Lovely, you’ve never made any of us feel anything but loved and I hope you feel the same about us” Nancy offered, stroking your shoulder with soft fingers.
“I’m sorry, I’m sorry I even thought about leaving I was just, so caught up and I wasn’t thinking properly.”
“Do you still want to?” Asked Robin tentatively, hands ghosting the sides of your leg.
You shook your head, lip starting to wobble, “I never wanted to, I just thought- I thought I had to,- Oof!” You exclaimed, Robin’s soft body dropping on top of you and Steve, squishing you down against Nancy, who took the weight like a champ.
Her arms winded around Steve, you and Nancy, squeezing Steve so tight he thought she might break one of his ribs. “I think as long as us five stick together, we can get through anything”
“Well said Buckley,” Grinned Eddie, reaching over to ruffle her hair.
Eventually, you all moved from your room into Nancy and Steve’s which had the biggest bed.
Nancy was removing the decorative pillows from the bed to place them on the ottoman instead. Eddie was helping, but his idea of helping was throwing them at Robin who was trying to dodge them while drinking the tea Nancy had gotten her at the store. A potentially deadly combination that required Nancy’s intervention.
Steve was with you in the en suite, the two of you hadn’t spent much time apart since the earlier misunderstanding. Steve had joined you in the shower while Nancy and Eddie finished drying their hair.
You had shared a bowl of ice cream, even though Steve didn’t like ice cream all that much anymore while watching the Documentary Eddie borrowed from the library for Robin.
Steve had just finished washing your face for you, letting you sit on the counter. Now you were brushing his hair for him. You started carefully combing it back with a fine-tooth comb, but now we're just using your fingers, styling it wildly to make him laugh.
You were currently attempting a mohawk with little success. He had one hand wrapped around his toothbrush while the other was holding your wrist, fingers pressing into your pulse. It felt good to be the reason Steve laughed instead of the reason he had been crying.
“I’m sorry Steve,” You whispered again, against his forehead, pressing a light kiss between his eyebrows.
“Already forgiven lovely,” Steve promised, bending his head to kiss your pulse point. “ but, please tell me what I did wrong” He murmured, turning bashful.
“What?” Now it was your turn to look at Steve in shock. “You didn’t do anything wrong?”
“Please, you can tell me, otherwise how will I not do it again?” Steve spares you a glance with eyes so earnest it breaks your heart.
Steve had felt so guilty since he heard your confession, you had thought that you would make them unhappy, in his head it translated that he hadn’t made it clear just how much he adores you.
“You didn’t Stevie, I promise. I was too in my own head” You kiss him gently “I still am, to be honest,” You confess smoothing his hair down behind his ears, kissing him once again for good measure. “I promise I’ll tell you next time I start spiralling,”
He burrowed his face in your neck, inhaling the smell of strawberries and cream. It scared him to think he would never be this close to you ever again, that he could lose out on all this. “God I hope there isn’t a next time, I love you, you make me- you make us so much happier,”
“Thank you for caring about me, I know it can be hard,”
“Caring about you is easy, it’s like breathing I don’t even have to think about it, I just do it”
“Stevie,” You mumble, tucking yourself against his shoulder, “You’re such a loverboy,” You peck him again.
After another five minutes of cuddling, you go into the bedroom and find yourself in a love pile on the bed.
Robin is smushed, out cold on top of you and Nancy. Nancy flanks you one one side and Steve is on your other, breath puffing against your neck. Eddie is wrapped around him, his heavy leg draped across you and Steve.
If he was ever right, about you being poison, you’re certain you’ve found your antidote.

fruity four angst: when they can’t all kiss you at once
I know I literally want angst so bad but please now imagine Eddie, Steve, Robin and Nancy all trying to stick their tongues in your mouth at the same time.
Their lips smushing wetly against yours, against each other’s. The sound of wet kissing and moans and jestingly possessive growls and hums.
Their full mouths all encompassing your own and your nose, so even as you inhale, one of them is taking away your breath. So crowded by their needy lips and hands you can’t even breathe before more of them are swooping in.
Being nearly crushed by four of them clambering to be closer to you, their hands to get a better hold of you, their bodies to press further on top of you.
Their tongues jamming into your mouth, wetly licking at the sensitive corners of your lips, all over your lower face in fact. Trying to lap you up from the inside with pleased hums and eager breaths, tasting you, devouring you. Someone’s tongue jamming down your throat as another squashes against your cheek, wriggling their way closer, someone’s fighting against the others tongue in your mouth, as the other kitten licks at your lips for your attention and to give you their love....
Thank you for imagining <3 :)

Eddie’s on the couch shirtless, and Steve is having a full-on crisis.
Eddie’s bare chest is on full display on Robin and Steve’s couch, and Steve is having a full-blown, how did this not click til now, crisis.
Steve knows he’s staring. Knows he needs to stop staring. Eddie is going on a rant to them, something about society or something metal (he got distracted when Eddie whipped his shirt off), and Steve should really pay attention because he knows Eddie is going to quiz him after.
For someone who hates school so much, Eddie sure likes to test Steve.
Robin comes up behind Steve, slurping her slushy. “Oh no. I know that face. It finally caught up to you, didn’t it?”
Steve breaks his state to give Robin a wide-eyed look. “What—how—I—“ Steve’s shoulders sag; there is no point in hiding from Robin. “How’d you know?”
“Please, babe, I’ve been waiting. Glad to know you actually sped-run this. Was thinking you were going to pull a me and wait til Jenny Rodriguez asks to practice the stage kiss with you before you realized.”
“I have so many questions.”
“Don’t bother; nothing happened except me falling off the stage at rehearsal.”
Steve laughs but then chokes when he glances back at Eddie. “I think my brain just exploded, Robs. What do I do?”
Robin pats his back sympathetically, “There, there. Nothing you can do, bud. Just got to ride the gay thoughts wave.”
Steve makes a distressed noise. Robin rubs circles on his back.
Eddie interrupts their moment (clueless to the evident lesbian bisexual solidarity happening), “So what do you guys think? Should I get the sword here?” Eddie drags his hand slowly down his sternum.
“I need you to take it back.” Steve whips his head torwards Robin.
“Take it back?”
“The crisis, take it back.” Steve all but begs Robin.
“Sorry, there is a no refund policy. You can use it or push it to the side; it’s up to you. But either way, that baby is yours.” Robin uses her straw to emphasize her point.
Eddie tilts his head confused, “Uuuh guys? The tattoo?”
Steve waits a moment before responding. “Good.”
“I’m going to need more than that Stevie.”
“Good. Will look good on you. Anything looks good on you.” Steve has to resist shoving his face into his hands. He can feel the rush of heat up to his cheeks.
Eddie’s face breaks into a brilliant, and a little smug, smile. “Awe, thanks, sweetheart. Glad to know I got the Harrington approval.”
“You don’t need my approval to look good.” Steve was going to throw himself off the roof of their apartment. That didn’t even make any sense.
Eddie snorts, “Okay big boy. Whatever you say.”
It comes off flirtier than Steve thought a sarcastic comment could be. This time instead of responding, Steve just caves into the embarrassment, turns around, and starts lightly thumping his head into the wall.
“Eddie, c’mon, you broke him! Now I’m going to have to reboot him…again.”
Steve doesn’t see his face but doesn’t have to look to know that Eddie’s face is downright giddy. “Sorry.”
Steve doesn’t think he’s very sorry at all.

I wish you were a boy - Robin Buckley
wc: 3.9k warnings: homophobic parents, fluff, friends to lovers Summary: You're Steve Harrington's younger sibling and you're in love with your best friend, but you're scared of people's judgement... but you get over it and finally admit your love. Based off the scene 'why not' 'I wish you were a girl'
Tumblr media
The cold evening air nipped at your skin as you hurried through the dimly lit streets of Hawkins, thoughts racing a mile a minute. It had been a chaotic day at school, and your mind was still reeling from the conversation you'd had with Robin earlier.
You and Robin had been friends for as long as you could remember. But lately, the friendship had started to morph into something more. She was captivating, with her quick wit, infectious laughter, and the way her eyes lit up when she talked about the things she loved.
But there was a barrier you couldn't bring yourself to cross. You had been raised in a conservative household with parents who held strict traditional values. You'd only ever dated boys, and admitting to yourself that you had feelings for a girl felt like stepping into an unknown territory, a place wrought with uncertainty and fear.
As you finally reached home, the façade you maintained throughout the day began to crumble. The walls you'd built around your emotions threatened to collapse, and the fear of what it meant to acknowledge your feelings for Robin loomed over you like a shadow.
Entering the house, you were greeted by the familiar sight of your parents, engrossed in their own world, oblivious to the turmoil brewing within you. You offered a weak smile, excused yourself, and retreated to your room, seeking solace in the silence of solitude.
The weight of your own admission echoed in your thoughts like a relentless drumbeat. "We can't be together," you had whispered, the words tasting bitter on your tongue. "Why not?" Robin's innocent inquiry pierced through your defenses. You had struggled to find the words to say, screaming internally to just go with your heart instead of your mind.
You wanted to be with her, you know you did. "I wish you were a boy," you murmered, your voice laced with a longing you couldn't suppress.
The truth gnawed at your insides, a secret that threatened to consume you whole. You wanted to be honest with Robin, to bare your soul and tell her everything, but the fear of judgment and the consequences it might bring weighed heavily on your shoulders.
The night passed in a whirlwind of conflicting emotions, leaving you tossing and turning in your bed, grappling with the realization that your heart yearned for something society deemed unconventional.
The following day at school was a haze. Robin's smile felt like a beacon, drawing you in, but you kept your distance, burying your emotions beneath a facade of normalcy. You tried to ignore the butterflies that danced in your stomach whenever she laughed, the warmth that spread through you whenever she was near.
The hours crawled by, each passing moment a reminder of the distance you had imposed between yourself and the one person you longed to be close to. The weight of your own truth felt like a burden, a secret too heavy to bear alone.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, you found yourself lingering by your locker, lost in your thoughts. You felt a presence behind you and turned to find Robin standing there, a small smile tugging at the corners of her lips.
"Hey Harrington," she greeted, her voice warm and familiar. "Are you okay?" she asked, concern flickering in her eyes as she scanned your face.
You wanted to say so much, to pour your heart out and tell her everything, but the words caught in your throat. "I'm fine," you managed to say, offering a weak smile before turning away from her.
Robin's expression shifted to a mix of confusion and understanding, as if she could sense the internal battle you were fighting. "I'll see you tomorrow," she said softly, giving your hand a gentle squeeze before turning away.
As she walked away, you felt a pang of regret and longing. The internal turmoil gnawed at your conscience, the weight of your unspoken truth heavier than ever. You wanted to be true to yourself, to break free from the confines of societal norms, but the fear of judgement held you back.
That evening, as you sat in your room, the walls seemed to close in on you. The world felt suffocating, and the weight of your own doubts threatened to suffocate you. Tears welled up in your eyes, a testament to the internal struggle tearing you apart.
The silence was deafening, broken only by the sound of your own sobs. The realization that you might lose Robin because of your own fear was a bitter pill to swallow.
Robin was so brave and so strong... and you could hardly even bring yourself to look at her now because you were the opposite. A coward.
As you lay there, battling your inner demons, a sense of hopelessness washed over you, leaving you feeling isolated and lost in a sea of conflicting emotions.
The days that followed were a blur of pretense and inner turmoil. You attempted to navigate the tumultuous sea of emotions while maintaining a facade of normalcy. But every interaction with Robin felt like a missed opportunity, a chance to share the truth slipping through your fingers.
You didnt want to lose your friendship.
The weight of your secret grew heavier with each passing day, gnawing at your conscience and creating an ever-widening chasm between you and Robin. You felt torn between the fear of being seen with a girl and the desire to be true to yourself, and the constant battle took a toll on your mental and emotional well-being.
Meanwhile, your relationship with Robin seemed to grow strained. The casual banter and easy conversation you once shared were replaced by awkward silences and hesitant glances. It was as if the unspoken truth lingered between you, a barrier you couldn't seem to overcome.
Your parents' traditional values and societal expectations loomed over you like a shadow, adding to the weight of your fears. The thought of disappointing them, of not fitting into their mold of expectations, cast a shadow of doubt over your decision.
Yet, amid the chaos of your conflicting emotions, there was a flicker of hope—a beacon of light in the form of Steve, your brother and confidant. He had always been there for you, a pillar of support in times of distress.
One evening, as you sat in your room, consumed by the turmoil within, there was a soft knock on your door. Steve's familiar voice filtered through the silence, "Hey, can I come in?"
You nodded, and Steve entered, his eyes reflecting concern as he settled beside you. "You've seemed distant lately. Is everything okay?" he asked, his voice tinged with worry.
You hesitated, unsure of how to articulate the storm of emotions raging within. But as Steve's comforting presence enveloped you, the words spilled out, a rush of emotions and pent-up truths.
"Steve, I... I think I'm in love with someone, they like me back, they told me they liked me but I told them I didn't feel the same... I'm scared," you confessed, tears welling up in your eyes.
Steve listened attentively, offering a reassuring smile. "You don't have to be scared. Love is love, and it's okay to feel what you're feeling," he said, his words a beacon of understanding in the tumultuous sea of uncertainty, "what's there to be scared about? Whoever he is, I'm sure he's a nice guy and if he isn't, I'll sort him out."
"Steve..." you murmered.
Tell him
Just tell him
"Thanks Stevie," you plastered on a fake smile. Steve reached over, placing his hand on your shoulder. "Whoever it is, I support you."
With Steve's support, a glimmer of courage began to blossom within you—a resolve to confront your fears and embrace your truth, whatever the consequences. You knew that the road ahead wouldn't be easy, but having Steve by your side gave you the strength to face the uncertainties that lay ahead.
The following day at school, as you navigated the halls, thoughts of Robin consumed your mind. You knew that you had to tell her the truth, to lay bare your feelings and the struggles you'd been wrestling with.
As the final bell rang, signaling the end of the school day, you sought out Robin, determined to finally confront your fears. You found her sitting by the bleachers, her eyes fixed on the distance.
Taking a deep breath, you approached her, your heart pounding in your chest. "Robin, can we talk?" you asked, your voice laced with a mixture of nerves and determination.
As Robin turned to face you, her expression a mix of surprise and curiosity, you felt a surge of nerves. The weight of the unspoken truth felt heavier than ever, but the resolve to come clean persisted within you.
"Sure," she replied, a hint of concern in her voice as she noticed the apprehension etched on your face. "What's on your mind?" she asked, giving you her full attention.
Taking a moment to gather your thoughts, you drew in a deep breath, steeling yourself for the confession that had been weighing on your heart for so long. "I need to tell you something," you began, your voice quivering ever so slightly.
Robin's gaze was fixed on you, her eyes urging you to continue. "I... I like you, Robin," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper. Looking up in her eyes, you almost lost it. God how the hell were you supposed to talk when she was looking at you like that, her pretty eyes looking up at you filled with support
"More than just friends. But I've been afraid to say it because..."
Your words trailed off, the weight of your fears rendering you momentarily speechless. You wanted to pour your heart out, to confess the depth of your feelings for her, but the unspoken truths held you captive.
Robin's expression softened, a gentle understanding in her eyes. "Because of what people might think?" she finished your sentence, her voice filled with empathy.
You nodded, feeling a lump form in your throat. "Yeah. My parents, everyone... I've never told anyone this before, but I'm scared of what they'd say. I've only ever dated boys, and I don't want to disappoint anyone. I wish it was different."
There was a brief silence between you, the weight of your confession hanging in the air. You braced yourself for Robin's reaction, unsure of what she might say or how she might feel.
But to your surprise, instead of judgment or rejection, there was a gentle smile on Robin's face. She reached out, taking your hand in hers, the touch a comforting reassurance that eased the tension in your shoulders.
"Hey, I get it," she said softly, her voice a soothing balm to your frazzled nerves. "Feelings are complicated, and they don't always fit into neat little boxes. But that doesn't change anything between us."
Her words were like a ray of sunshine breaking through the storm clouds. You looked at her, a glimmer of hope igniting within you. "You don't... you don't hate me? You arent mad at me for that stupid thing I said to you the other day? You don't hate me bec-" you rambled tentatively, your heart pounding in your chest.
Robin shook her head, her eyes locked with yours. "No, I don't. And it doesn't change anything about how I feel about you either. I adore you y/n Harrington"
A surge of relief washed over you, a weight lifting off your shoulders at her understanding and acceptance. The fear that had gripped you for so long slowly began to dissipate, replaced by a newfound sense of courage.
As the sun dipped below the horizon, casting a warm glow over the two of you, you felt a sense of liberation. The truth was out, and despite the uncertainties that lay ahead, there was a glimmer of hope and acceptance in Robin's eyes.
The evening passed in a blur of shared laughter and heartfelt conversations. You and Robin sat together, hands interlocked and in between you as you finally were able to have conversations comfortably like you used to.
You could feel her thumb rubbing your hand tentively, the feeling making you all giddy on the inside, butterflies erupting in your chest.
As you walked home that night, a sense of relief washed over you. The journey ahead might not be easy, but having Robin by your side, uncertainties seem less daunting. You were excited... you couldn't remember the last time you had felt this happy, the feeling of her warm hand in yours imprinted in your memory.
The days that followed your heartfelt conversation with Robin were filled with a mixture of relief and trepidation. You felt a weight lifted off your shoulders now that your feelings were out in the open, yet the fear of how others would perceive your relationship lingered in the back of your mind.
You spent more time with Robin, relishing the comfort of her company and getting more comfortable with the relationship. You hadn't done this before. She understood the complexities of your situation, and her unwavering support gave you the courage to confront the challenges ahead.
However, the prospect of revealing your feelings to your parents loomed over you like a dark cloud. Their conservative values and traditional beliefs had always dictated the choices you made, and the fear of their reaction gnawed at your resolve.
One evening, as you sat at the dinner table with your parents, the silence between you felt heavy. You struggled to find the right words, to express the feelings and the truth you had kept hidden for so long.
Finally, summoning all your courage, you cleared your throat, drawing your parents' attention. "Mum, Dad, I need to talk to you about something," you began, your voice trembling slightly.
Your parents looked at you, their expressions a mix of curiosity and concern. "What is it, dear?" your mother asked, her voice gentle yet expectant.
Taking a deep breath, you forged ahead, the weight of your confession heavy on your chest. "I... I have feelings for someone," you admitted, your voice barely above a whisper.
Your parents exchanged a quick glance, their expressions growing stern. "That's good to hear. Who is he?" your father asked, his tone indicating the seriousness of the matter.
You hesitated, the words catching in your throat. Summoning every ounce of courage, you continued, "It's someone... unexpected. Someone I care about deeply."
The silence that followed felt suffocating, the tension palpable in the air. You knew the gravity of what you were about to say and the impact it would have on their perception of you.
Finally, you found the courage to say the words that had been weighing on your heart. "I like a girl. Her name is Robin," you confessed, your voice filled with a mix of apprehension and sincerity.
The room fell silent, the weight of your admission hanging in the air. Your parents exchanged glances, their expressions a mix of surprise and disbelief.
After what felt like an eternity, your father spoke, his voice laced with disappointment. "You know our values, our beliefs. This... this is not acceptable," he said firmly, his words echoing in the quiet room.
Your heart sank, the reality of their rejection hitting you like a tidal wave. Tears welled up in your eyes as you struggled to come to terms with their response.
In that moment, a whirlwind of emotions consumed you—disappointment, fear, and a profound sense of loss. You had hoped for acceptance, for understanding, but their disapproval only deepened the chasm between you and your family.
Your mother looked like she was about to burst into tears, while your father was about ready to boil over and kill you. "You're a disgrace. Look at your poor mother. You are no longer welcome in this house, pack your clothes and get out.
Your jaw dropped open, looking between your mother and father in disbelief. "Mum!" you begged your mum, eyes pleading with her to make your father change your mind, but she just stared at you, "ma please..."
Stunned and hurt by their harsh words, you felt a surge of emotions welling up within you—pain, confusion, and a deep sense of betrayal. As tears streamed down your cheeks, you struggled to process the reality of being rejected by your own family.
Your hands trembled as you tried to speak, to defend yourself, but the weight of their disapproval made it hard to find the right words. With a lump in your throat, you choked back the tears, struggling to comprehend the sudden turn of events.
"I can't believe you're doing this," you managed to say, your voice trembling with a mix of hurt and disbelief. "I'm still your daughter, I'm still the same person," you pleaded, hoping they'd reconsider their stance.
But the look in your father's eyes spoke volumes—disappointment, anger, and an unyielding resolve. "You've made your choice, now face the consequences. You're not welcome here anymore," he declared, his words cutting through you like a knife.
Feeling the weight of their rejection, you stood up, your legs trembling as you made your way to your room. Tears blurred your vision, making it hard to see as you packed a few belongings into a small bag. Each item felt like a piece of your shattered world, a stark reminder of the fracture that had torn through your family.
As you glanced around your room for what might be the last time, memories flooded your mind—the laughter, the shared moments, the love that once filled these walls. Now, it all felt like a distant dream, fading away in the wake of their disapproval.
With a heavy heart, you slung the bag over your shoulder and made your way to the door. The house that had once been your sanctuary now felt alien and unwelcoming. Your parents stood there, their expressions hardened, unmoved by the pain etched across your face.
Without looking back, you stepped out into the world, your heart heavy with the weight of rejection and the uncertainty of the future. The chilly air outside matched the emptiness in your soul, and as you walked away, tears continued to fall.
Steve was godknows where, probably out with Nancy or Dustin so you hadn't even had the chance to say goodbye, but you'd just call him tomorrow and hope it was him that answered the home phone. Or you could just go with Robin to her work and see him there.
With a heavy heart and a mind clouded by emotions, you headed towards the only place that felt like home now—Robin's house. Each step felt like an eternity, the weight of your belongings dragging you down both physically and emotionally.
The journey was a blur, your thoughts consumed by the haunting echoes of your parents' disapproval. Tears stained your cheeks, but you pressed on, driven by a desperate need for solace, for refuge.
Finally arriving at Robin's doorstep, you hesitated for a moment, the fear of rejection gnawing at you. With a trembling hand, you knocked, the sound echoing in the quiet neighborhood.
The door creaked open, revealing Robin standing there, her eyes widening in surprise at the sight of you, tears staining your cheeks and your trembling form. Without a word, she pulled you into a tight embrace, sensing the distress and pain etched across your face.
"Hey, what happened?" she asked gently, her voice filled with concern and warmth.
You couldn't hold back the flood of emotions any longer. Between sobs, you managed to choke out fragments of the painful encounter with your parents, the hurtful rejection, and the feeling of being cast away from your own home.
Robin's embrace tightened around you, offering a sense of security and comfort. "I'm so sorry you had to go through that," she whispered, her voice soothing and filled with empathy. "You're safe here, okay? You can stay with me."
You nodded, finding solace in Robin's words, in the reassurance of her arms around you. In that moment, her home felt more welcoming than anywhere else in the world.
With a shaky breath, you wiped away your tears, feeling a glimmer of hope amidst the pain. Robin guided you inside, offering a warm embrace and a shoulder to lean on. The weight of your burdens felt lighter in her presence, and for the first time since the ordeal, a faint smile graced your lips.
Robin gently took your hand, guiding you to her room. The ambiance was serene, a soft glow from string lights casting a warm hue over the space.
As you settled on her bed, the comfort of being close to her washed over you. Robin wrapped her arms around you in a gentle embrace, pulling you close. The air was filled with a mix of nervousness and excitement, a palpable tension that added to the anticipation of the moment.
You cuddled close, feeling the steady rhythm of each other's breathing, the rise and fall of chests syncing in a silent, comforting dance. The softness of her touch against your skin felt like a soothing melody, calming the inner turmoil that had once gripped your heart.
With each passing second, the closeness between you grew, the space between your bodies diminishing. The intimacy was tender, innocent yet charged with unspoken feelings, a silent acknowledgment of the emotions that blossomed between you.
The touch of her lips against your forehead sent a shiver down your spine, a gentle gesture filled with warmth and affection. You looked up, meeting her gaze, and in that moment, without words, the unspoken understanding between you bridged the distance.
As if drawn by an invisible force, your lips met in a soft, hesitant kiss. It was delicate, a fluttering of emotions exchanged through the gentle press of your lips against hers. The moment lingered, a sweet and innocent exploration of newfound emotions.
The world outside seemed to fade away, leaving just the two of you in that cocoon of warmth and affection. Your heart raced, the feeling of closeness amplifying the intensity of your emotions.
You rested your head against her shoulder, feeling the steady beat of her heart against your cheek. The simplicity of the moment was beautiful, an unspoken language of love conveyed through gestures and shared emotions.
In the quiet cocoon of their shared embrace, Robin's fingers gently traced patterns on your back, eliciting a tender shiver down your spine.
"You okay?" she asked softly, her voice barely above a whisper, her breath warm against your ear.
You nodded, a contented smile playing on your lips. "More than okay. I'm happy right here," you confessed, your voice a gentle murmur.
"I'm glad," Robin murmured, her arms holding you closer, the feeling of warmth and safety in her embrace making your heart flutter.
The air between you was filled with a comfortable silence, punctuated by the occasional soft chuckle or whispered sentiment. It was the kind of quiet that didn't need words, where the language of touch and shared glances spoke volumes.
As the night wrapped around you like a cozy blanket, you reveled in the simple joy of being close to Robin, feeling a sense of ease and contentment settle over both of you.
With a soft sigh of content, Robin leaned in, pressing a tender kiss to your cheek. "You're my favorite person," she murmured, her voice filled with warmth and affection.
"You're mine too," you replied, your heart swelling with a quiet happiness. In that moment, amidst the tranquil intimacy of the room, you knew that no grand gestures or elaborate confessions were needed—just the simple joy of being together was enough to fill your hearts with warmth and happiness.

Eddie and Robin are the biters of their respective relationships, they'll do it absent mindedly sometimes, they'll just be holding their partners hand and lift it up and softly put their wrist in their mouth between their teeth. Steve and Nancy don't even react anymore.
Steve and Robin are the snugglers of their relationships, they will tuck themselves under their partner's chin and curl into their chest whenever they're in reach in the couch. Eddie and Nancy are all too happy to oblige.
Nancy and Steve are the 'they asked for pickles' of their relationships, slight guard dog energy for their chaotic partners that are always very much themselves despite the public opinion, they will make their opinions known to anyone that has an issue and will always make sure their partners get what they want.
Eddie and Nancy are the praisers in their relationships, sometimes their partners need reminding that they're ok and that they're loved on rough days, they're their for the nightmares about cold dark metal rooms that they can never fully understand but will hold them and remind them that they're safe and that they're important and loved.

Thinking about steve cumming into your panties.
✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧⋄⋆⋅⋆⋄✧
“Fuck baby.” Steve moaned into your ear. His breath fanning against your neck. He started rutting himself faster onto your pussy. Your underwear was down till your thighs, tears streaming down your face, makeup and hair probably all messed up. Your pussy was swollen and red from the number of times you had come by now.
Steve was still chasing his high. His cock slid back and forth against your pussy. His hands gripped your shoulder blades, leaving visible marks there, while he continued sucking hickeys onto your neck.
“Baby, you can give me one more, hm?” Steve asked you panting.
“Fuck yes anything Stevie.” You told him too lost in your pleasure. You didn't care if you had cum too many times, you wanted more, and Steve was going to give you more.
“I’m close sweetheart.” Steve moaned humping his cock harder.
“Me too Stevie.”
He moved his hips harder and soon you were cumming. You screamed loudly, tears rolling down your face. You threw your head back onto Steve’s shoulder, your mouth hanging open drool coming out from the side.
Seeing your state Steve soon came right after you. He quickly lined his cock up with your panties and shot his load there. Stings of white shoot right down into your pretty little panties.
After a few minutes, both of you came down from your high. You opened your eyes to look up at Steve, he was still panting from how hard he came. Steve caught you looking at him and smiled down back at you, swiftly locking his lips with yours. You moaned lightly into his mouth, one of your hands going up to stroke his cheek. His mouth moving with passion against yours. Gradually both of you pulled back to catch your breath still grinning.
Steve’s gaze fell down to your panties. They were covered in his cum. Absolutely white with excess oozing out from the sides. He smirked looking at his work. Then before you could say anything Steve pulled your panties up, making you squeak from the sudden contact his cum made with your pussy.
You whimpered looking up at him with questioning and glossy eyes. He only smiled down at you and whispered, “Just wear them for today, be my good girl.”
Your mouth went agape at his request. Steve chuckled after observing your reaction, his hand going down to your clothed pussy gently patting it a couple of times making you jolt from the sensitivity.
Your eyes went wide with lust once again. Excited for what's about to come.

robin buckley was it for you and you were it for her. only four months of dating after two years of knowing each other and you were impossibly in love with the awkward but hilarious girl. though it was terribly painful to hide away your love when out, it made it easier to shower her in it once she was situated in your bed.
her short hair was splayed across your pillows, bangs lightly sticking to her forehead due to the sweat built up over the past hour. she was one of the few people your parents allowed over when they were gone for an extended period. they thought it was simple, innocent friendship. but the amount of times robin had moaned your name since the two of you got home let you know it was anything but.
the lower part of her body was covered by the floral top sheet of your bed, offering just a shred of privacy while she caught her breath. you laid next to her, running your fingers delicately over her cheek. it brought goosebumps to her skin and a blush to her cheeks. she never could get over the love you showed her and how gentle your touch was. she thought she didn’t deserve it.
with a breathy grunt, robin turned over in bed to face you. you paused your movements and watched her with a smile while she got comfortable. once she settled against the pillow, you pressed a soft kiss to her forehead. she practically melted, letting out a peaceful sigh at the feeling and weight of your lips against her. slowly, she rose and pressed her lips firmly to yours.
when she pulled away, you looked at the details of her face intently. you could count her freckles like a kid counting stars in the sky. her makeup was smudged under her eyes, her lips were puffy, and her cheeks couldn’t get rid of the post-orgasm flush. you were determined to dote all your attention to her the moment you got home from the basketball game. she took it all so well, finishing maybe twice but there could’ve been a third time she hadn’t even noticed.
the two of you laid like that for a while, breathing synchronously. robin was uncharacteristically quiet but not because she felt ashamed but rather, she wanted to feel completely relaxed. when you ran your fingers through her hair, her mind was quiet, and she was able to focus only on the sensation of your touch. you laughed quietly at the way her eyes closed immediately and she let out a sigh of relief.
“feel good, baby?” you practically whispered out of a want to not ruin this quiet, peaceful moment. robin nodded, utterly blissed out. it was these moments that remained your favorite throughout the relationship. you never wanted to have a lack of these moments no matter how difficult life got or no matter how many hard conversations you had to have in a relationship.
robin peeked up at you from underneath her bangs (you made a mental reminder to trim them for her in the morning). her hand met your cheek, and her thumb caressed the skin there. “you’re perfect,” she mumbled. her thumb moved down to your lips where she ran it over the bottom of your mouth, enjoying the way you smiled at her movements. she’d do anything for that smile, really. “you’re so perfect.” she was repeating herself but this time, she ended the statement with a deeper kiss to your lips. it was slow and dragged on but eventually she slid her tongue into your mouth, and you allowed her to explore like you always did.
when you pulled apart for air, you felt positively overwhelmed with love, affection, and need for your girlfriend. though you were devoted to making her feel good tonight, the way she kissed you made you impossibly desperate for something from her. you didn’t mind what it was or how long it took her to get there. all you knew is that before you went to sleep, you wanted to show robin just how perfect she made you feel.
it seemed like she understood the need that began to fill every part of your body and mind. she didn’t want to rush the moment but did want to feel closer to you so in an easy fashion, robin pushed you down onto the bed and covered your body with hers. you relished in the feeling and allowed yourself to get completely lost in the sensation. robin kissed you for what could’ve been an hour, pulling back every few minutes to catch her breath. then she moved onto your neck, teeth grazing the skin and sucking just hard enough that there’d be a mark for you to furiously cover with makeup in the morning. she’d always watch you, laughing and not-so-sincerely apologizing for the marks.
she did this to two spots in your neck, one higher at your pulse point and the other lower, right at the beginning of your collar bone. each time, you moaned or sighed something unintelligible. robin knew she had you like putty in her hands and savored every moment of it. she still could hardly believe someone so perfect could trust her and be this willing to just let go with her.
though robin was still naked from the activities that took place not even fifteen minutes ago, you remained fully clothed. she didn’t enjoy that fact too much and made quick work of taking off your top along with the bra underneath. sometimes, you would dress up in a set she particularly liked but today, it was simple and today, it was nothing but pouring feelings into each other’s movements, words, and noises.
robin’s hands grabbed delicately at either one of your breasts and pushed them together, giving them attention with her mouth. you bathed in the attention, head lulling back onto the pillow, lips spread into a dazed smile. her tongue circled your nipple, occasionally taking it into her mouth while her hand gave the other one attention as well. she covered them in kisses before lowering down onto your stomach.
you knew from the very first moment you had sex with robin that she would make sure every part of your body felt loved. she wouldn’t say it was a kink but every time they had sex, robin would whisper praises as she kissed or licked or sucked every inch of you. you allowed her to indulge in her needs because who wouldn’t want a beautiful girl singing your praises while she used her adept fingers to make you cum over and over?
“so beautiful,” she whispered in between kisses on your stomach. her hands roamed up and down your sides then down to your hips where she squeezed them. “so pretty. i’m so lucky.” were you in love? it sure felt like love right now.
eventually, she ran out of spaces to kiss on your front side and instead of flipping you over to send kisses down your spine, she unbuttoned your jeans, watching your face as she dragged them down your legs. she ended her teasing with a kiss to your ankle that led upwards and to the spot you needed her most. your hips bucked up but her hands pinned you back down.
“i wanna show you how much i love you,” robin said. “can you be patient, baby?” the tone she spoke in sent waves of arousal down your body and straight to the spot hidden just behind a thin pair of underwear. you nodded, nevertheless. she hummed in satisfaction and kissed up the other leg, ending just at the bend of your thigh and torso.
just when you thought you would nearly combust of desire, robin’s lips found your clit easily and she pressed a light kiss to it. you let out a gasp at the sudden contact, legs moving back and forth without much control. “please,” you whispered. “need you, please.” she smiled and pressed another kiss to you, making a small moan slip between your lips.
“is there where you need me?” she asked. her finger ran down your folds above your underwear and she almost moaned at the feeling of the wetness that had gathered there in such a short amount of time. she wrapped her fingers around your underwear and started to pull it off your legs. this sight never got old for her. she almost wanted to take a polaroid of this and treasure it forever. maybe she’d keep it in her wallet, in the hidden compartment meant for cash.
your underwear took too long to come off and when she finally got it off of your foot, she threw it haphazardly across the room. you’d clean later. right now, you ached for her mouth and her tongue and her fingers more than anything. robin bit her lip, feeling herself grow wet again. she decided to run her fingers up and down you again, surprised at the amount of you that gathered on her fingertips.
she bent down, placing her ass high in the air and replaced her fingers with her tongue instead. you felt everything build at once and you were sure you wouldn’t last long with her torturous teasing. you moaned her name loudly as her tongue moved slowly, building up speed at a pace you didn’t even know she could manage.
your moans encouraged her to continue and they only spilled out at a higher rate the more her tongue worked on your clit. and when she added her fingers into the mix? you were done for. your mind was, for all intents and purposes, blank. you basked in the feeling absorbing every one of your nerves, feeling a powerful orgasm grow and grow. robin had two fingers pumping in and out of you and with each push, she met that spot that sent you cursing. after a long string of curses and mumbles of her name, you let the tight coil snap and suddenly, you were coming on her fingers.
she never did stop immediately and instead worked you through your high. her fingers flowed and her tongue flattened out against you. she had half a mind to continue and draw out another orgasm from you but with the way your legs shook around her head, she figured you needed a moment to recover. she pulled her fingers out of you and just as you met her eyes, she wrapped her lips around her fingers and licked everything off.
your hands reached out to her desperately, aching for a kiss and for closeness again. robin happily obliged, crawling back up your body to shower you in the affection you so deeply craved. she kissed your forehead, the tip of your nose, your cheeks, and then your lips where the taste of you lingered. once your breathing returned to normal, robin stood and led you to the bathroom just outside of your room. she wiped down your face, your thighs, along with hers.
soon, the two of you returned to your bed that now felt all too hot and suffocating. the comforter was bundled up at the foot of the bed as you two cuddled close at the top of it. the only sounds were a fan running in the corner of the room and occasional noises from outside the window. she placed a gentle kiss to your head which was resting on her chest.
robin sighed out of pure happiness and felt a wave of tiredness come over her body. she couldn’t suppress the yawn she felt which, in turn, made you yawn. you both giggled and squeezed the other tighter. robin shifted downward in bed and pulled the top sheet back over the two of you. you’d no doubt get cold in the middle of the night but for now, you enjoyed the feeling of her skin pressed against yours.
it seemed as though the silence in the air shifted with a different kind of mood. it was one of deep thought and you knew robin had something on her mind. you glanced up, eyes meeting her blue ones. “something on your mind?” you asked. she innocently twirled a strand of your hair around her finger, needing something to keep her hands busy.
“how can you always tell?” she said in a raspier tone than she usually spoke in. you supposed that’s what almost two hours of sex does to a girl. she sighed though and looked up to the ceiling then back to you. her eyes seemed brighter or more passionate. “you know how it took me so long to realize you liked girls and then also liked me? and how i didn’t believe you at first? well, now i just…can’t believe you’re here. and you’re mine. and that i’m so in love with you.”
it probably took you longer than most couples to admit your love for one another, but you knew it was always there from the start. you assumed it was fear holding you back, maybe insecurities about sexualities or some other psychological thing. but you knew you loved her. you knew you wanted her forever. “i guess we’re in the same boat then, because i am so deeply in love with you,” you told her in the sincerest voice you could get out. she wrapped her arm around your shoulders and pulled you closer into her chest, littering the top of your head in kisses. though you’d have to go out tomorrow and pretend like none of this happened, like you hadn’t just confessed to the love of your life that you love her, you relished in this moment right now. it would forever remain important to you and would forever be a core memory. robin buckley was it for you and you were it for her.

The Mixtape Detectives
Tumblr media
summary: in which eddie tries to be nancy drew
or; in which eddie finds mixtapes in your car and steve’s and decides that the two of you both have to be seeing someone! so he has nancy and robin help him try and figure out who… while they’re all completely missing the signs around them.
steve harrington x fem!reader
warnings/tags: “secret-relationship” trope, but they aren’t doing much to hide it everyone else is just oblivious, the reader and steve have opposite music tastes (steve listens to top 40’s and the reader listens to hard rock / metal), fruity four appearances, background robin x nancy, upside down never happened everyone lives ok, minor talk about steve having absent parents, minor drug use
wc: 3900ish
eddie munson grinned to himself as he drilled his fingers against his knee, his eyes hazy as he leaned his forehead against steve’s passenger side’s window. the glass was cool against his skin, and eddie snickered when steve leaned back in the driver’s seat.
“still alive over there?” steve teased, and eddie snickered again as he glanced toward steve. “i haven’t seen you this high in fucking ages, dude.”
“pretty sure ‘m jus-” eddie huffed as he bent down, fingers yanking open the glovebox right at his knees. “need music.”
“carefully just, fuck-” steve swerved as eddie harshly leaned back, tugging out two handfuls of loose tapes that steve had a bad habit of just.. throwing back into the glovebox. “stay steady dude i don’t want to have to get vomit out of my fucking car.”
“shut up!” eddie groaned as his fingers and rings clacked against the different plastic casings of the cassettes now in his lap. “stevie your music taste sucks.”
“hey!” steve hissed, and eddie couldn’t help but laugh as steve swatted his right hand toward him, left still firmly on the wheel. “bruce springsteen and elton john do not suck!”
“oh steve…” eddie trailed off, abandoning several cassette tapes that fall to the floor, even if steve did suck a sharp breath through his teeth. eddie’s brow pinched, fingers tapping against a cassette that didn’t have a title printed on it. “what’s this one?”
“oh uh-” steve tried to make a grab for it, but a car cutting in front of him forced him to slam his right hand onto the steering wheel. “is private.”
“oooh, pri-vate.” eddie stresses both syllables of the word, before he popped it into the radio and pressed play.
static happened for a second, before the intro of fucking ‘necropobic’ by slayer starts. eddie can’t help but immediately balk, especially since steve… steve doesn’t even seem like the music is bothering him. no, instead steve taps his fingers against the steering wheel, and he looks like he is at-fucking-ease.
steve and eddie don’t say anything for the entire two minutes the song plays, and eddie isn’t surprised when the next song that plays is ‘stranger in a strange land’ by iron maiden. eddie just watched, wide-eyed and mouth slightly agape, as steve harrington sings under his breath to fucking iron maiden. the same steve harrington who would jokingly complain about his ears bleeding whenever eddie had control of the radio.
when steve and eddie pull into his driveway, carefully parking behind nancy wheeler’s car- eddie is stunned when steve turns and grins at him after he’s turned the car off. his dark-tinted sunglasses are hanging near the tip of his nose, and steve harrington fucking winks.
“told you my music doesn’t suck, munson.”
•••
a week later, while steve is stuck waiting for his car in the only mechanic shop in hawkins— eddie is sitting in the basement of the harrington house, with nancy and robin sitting in front of him.
steve’s parents had long since moved away to who knows where, and apparently they were ok and trusted steve enough to make sure the house didn’t collapse on itself.
“can you repeat that?” nancy’s brown is furrowed, and robin is chomping on a popsicle stick as she eyed eddie intently. “you think what?”
“i think that our stevie boy is hooking up with someone!” eddie is adamant, and he points at the piece of paper he’d brought with him. he’d managed to sneak the mixtape out of steve’s car long enough to catalogue what songs it had on it. what eddie hadn’t expected was for steve to bang on his door, not even five minutes later, with his hands on his hips, looking for it. “stevie doesn’t listen to slayer, buckley!”
“it’s just music, eds-” nancy started, though the girl smiled as eddie huffed out a noise of disagreement.
“no! top 40’s is just music.” eddie jabbed his finger toward the paper, which nancy turned so she could look at the entire list. “steve ‘the king’ harrington does not listen to alice cooper!”
“i mean he could just be trying to branch out y’know? we all like different music and stuff, maybe dingus is just trying to expand his horizons and shit.” robin pulled the wooden stick out from between her teeth so she could speak, tongue tinged blue as she wet the corners of her mouth. “maybe that’s all it is, eddie! maybe you’re reading too much into it.”
“no, i’m gonna find out who it is.” eddie is grinning, a slow ear to ear thing that has both nancy and robin let out sighs. “now, are you two with me?”
“ugh, fine.” nancy agreed after eddie sent her a puppy dog look. nancy cast a look to robin, eyes softening slightly, as the trio heard the front door above them unlock. “you in?”
“i’m in.” robin quickly agreed, especially as steve began his quick descent down the basement stairs. eddie quickly snatched up the paper, folding it along the creases before he jammed it deep into his jacket pocket, just as steve entered.
“hey jerks!” steve had an ear to ear grin, a couple boxes of pizza propped against his hip. “look who i find wandering the neighborhood.”
you stepped out from behind steve, a twelve pack of beer in your own hands, and you scoffed playfully as you flipped steve off.
“fuck off, stevie.” you rolled your eyes as you moved toward the trio, smiling widely as you grinned at robin and nancy. “girls i have so much work drama to fill you in on.”
nancy squealed, instantly helping you set the beers down, as robin grabbed you into a tight hug- before the three of you wormed around steve. you all moved as a unit, bounding up the stairs, as steve chuckled.
“glad they get along, aren’t you?” steve smiled to himself, setting the pizza boxes open. eddie watched steve curiously, before he nodded with a grin.
“of course, they all seem to get along great.” eddie shuffled, helping steve break apart the twelve pack, while steve set out a couple of coasters. “car okay?”
“yeah, brakes were just a little fucked.” steve shrugged, before the sound of footsteps down the stairs happened. steve smiled as you bounded down the stairs, trailed after by both robin and nancy. “aw, just talking about you three.”
“oh really?” you grinned wide, dropping a stack of napkins and paper plates on the table. “anything exciting?”
“reminiscing how you joined our little group, actually.” steve grinned and you laughed shyly, rolling your eyes as you dropped onto the loveseat.
“i was high out of my mind, alright?” you scoffed, before smiling as steve dropped down so he could sit next to you. about six months prior to now, while almost greened out, you’d marched up to the four at a party and declared you were all best friends. you’d all been inseparable pretty much since. “can we dig in, i’m starving.”
everyone moved after that, dropping to sit and flip open the pizza boxes. while you slid a couple pieces of supreme onto your plate, steve slyly tapped his knee against yours while everyone else was distracted, especially when eddie jumped up to turn the television on.
“you look real pretty today.” steve whispered, and you smiled towards your plate, accepting a beer when steve offered one out to you.
“thanks, stevie.” you murmured, shy as steve threw his arm behind you to rest along the back of the sofa.
no one noticed, just as no one noticed your shirt.
iron maiden clearly displayed across your chest.
•••
eddie rifled through the box you usually kept in the passenger seat floorboard of your car, an extra pair of your sunglasses drooping down his nose. his van had absolutely refused to start that morning, and since you’d been the only one that was awake when eddie called… you’d offered to drive the brunette to work.
“god at least you have a good music taste.” eddie chuckled, pinching a metallica cassette between his middle and pointer finger.
“yeah?” you giggled, flipping your blinker on as you came to a stop at a red light. “whose music taste are you bashing?”
“stevie’s,” eddie chuckled, dropping the bin of tapes back at his feet.
“aw, it can’t be that bad.” you teased, though you felt your cheeks warm as you took the left turn once the light had turned green. you honestly had no problem with steve’s music taste, truly you didn’t. “some of the stuff he listens to is cute, y’know?”
“cute?!” eddie guffawed and you nodded as you tucked your bottom lip in between your teeth.
“yeah!” you defended, shrugging as you came to a stop at another traffic light. you tapped your fingers against the steering wheel, offering eddie a slow shrug of your shoulders. “some of it is cool, y’know. good make-out music and shit.”
“make-out music?” eddie was grinning now, a wide ear-to-ear thing as he cackled out a laugh. “you’re making out with people to music now?”
you shrugged, especially as eddie continued to grin at you from your peripheral.
“i’m human, eds?” you couldn’t help but giggle, especially as eddie jammed his finger to turn your radio on. “i don’t think that tape is rewound-”
eddie listened, repeatedly pressing the rewind button, before he stilled as you started to drive again. the tape was quiet, barely any static coming through, before it started.
the intro of bon jovi’s, ‘you give love a bad name’ crooned from your car’s speakers- and eddie felt his jaw open as he turned to openly stare at you. you had taken to singing along to the words, tapping your fingers perfectly to the beat- and eddie realized you must’ve listened to this song countless of times to know every fucking lyric.
when you pulled up front of the music store, you flashed eddie a smile, as you pushed your sunglasses down so you could look at eddie with a small smirk quirked on your mouth.
“like i said,” you grinned even wider then, shoulders shrugging as you gestured toward the radio. “some of the shit he listens to is good make-out music.”
“tell me you’re joking.” eddie’s jaw is still hanging open, and you shrug as you instead shift your car into park. “no no, tell me the tape playing isn’t your fucking make-out tape.”
“what? do you think i make-out with people to metallica or some shit?” you’re grinning instead of smirking, and eddie bobs his head into a quick nod. “i don’t listen to this shit all the time, eds, but master of puppets doesn’t exactly give ‘let’s kiss’ vibes.”
eddie is still looking at you, mouth slightly agape, especially as the next song plays. ‘take me home tonight’ by eddie money starts to play, and you’re openly giggling now- as eddie’s cheeks flush.
“do you wanna borrow it?” you question, and you don’t wait for an answer as you click the rewind button twice, and then eject the tape. you hold it out while it’s between your pointer and middle finger, and eddie takes it from you as he slowly blinks. “there you go.”
eddie climbs out of your car slowly, and you grin as you blow him a kiss.
“nance is gonna pick you up once your shift is over, she’s the only one off today, just letting you know.” you’re smiling softer now, before your eyes flash mischievously, and nod your head toward the tape. “take notes munson, i want that back.”
as you pull away, eddie is still standing shocked in the parking lot.
•••
a day later when eddie is sitting in steve’s basement again, he can’t help but feel deja vu trickle up his spine. nancy and robin are sitting across from him, the three glancing at the pieces of paper that eddie had been looking over pretty much his entire shift at the music store. steve was upstairs showering, while you were currently on your way over, having gotten held up at your job instead of being able to get off at your usual time.
“so you think that steve’s best match…” nancy trails off, brow furrowed as she leans forward to look at the paper closer. “beth wildfire? why does that name sound familiar?”
“she’s the girl i told you about, nance.” robin reminded her girlfriend, speaking around a mouthful of doritos. eddie’s brow is furrowed, so robin quickly continues to ramble on. “she was the goalie on my soccer team, this other girl like slid into her right? and ended up breaking one of beth’s legs, and like the whole bone came out of her knee.” robin stuffed another chip into her mouth, missing the small smile that nancy had on her mouth at the rant robin had unintentionally started to go on. “it was insane! i think she ended up having to get screws put in her knee or something. but also, i’ve heard her music and i don’t think she’d listen to any of those songs that were on that mixtape.”
“you don’t think so?” eddie raised his eyebrows, and when robin shook her head immediately, he groaned and crossed her name out.
“also jason carver, really? that’s the best you have for her?” nancy jabbed her finger toward the list of guys eddie had made for you, which prompted eddie to shrug.
“look, she didn’t say she was dating anyone, just making out! isn’t her type like pretty guys or something?” eddie explained, hair moving wildly around his shoulders as he began to talk with his upper body.
“is whose type pretty guys?” steve’s voice rang out, and eddie quickly grabbed the list, crumpling it up as he shoved it into his pocket before he turned around.
steve stood at the bottom of the stairs, hair wet with his hands on his hips as he eyed the group- the trio sheepishly smiling toward steve. steve quirked an eyebrow, as his eyes flitted between everyone’s faces, before he looked back to eddie. a beat or two passed, before you bounded down the stairs, your own hair wet and in pajamas.
“you stop at home and shower?” nancy changed the subject, glancing at you, and you paused a second before you nodded.
“yeah, felt grimy after work.” you shrugged, slyly ghosting the fingers of one hand against steve’s hip as you moved by him. “excuse me stevie.”
you plopped down in the empty chair, before you tucked your knees to your chest and smiled widely at the group. “what are we watching? pick something good up after work, rob?”
robin and nancy were both up then, quickly discussing several movies they’d both apparently rented from family video. eddie excused himself almost as quickly, bounding up the stairs to go smoke before the movie started. while nancy and robin were preoccupied with each other, steve made his way to the side of your chair, and perched himself on the arm before he bent down so he could whisper in your ear.
“thanks for taking a shower with me.” steve’s words were quiet as you let out a soft hum of acknowledgment, and steve tucked a few wet strands of your hair behind your ear. “feel okay?”
“little tired,” you shrugged, blinking sleepily towards steve and he smiled fondly at you as he smoothed his hand over the back of your head. steve hummed softly, and after a quick glance to make sure nancy and robin were occupied (they were), he pressed his lips to your forehead in a soft kiss. “we cooking tonight or ordering in?”
“figured we’d cook, maybe.” steve shrugs, before he ends up sliding so both of you are sitting in the chair together. you uncurl your knees from your chest, letting steve prop your legs over the chair arm, as you end up half balanced on one of his thighs. “i have stuff upstairs to make spaghetti, or i could make burgers instead?”
“hm, spaghetti.” you tuck your head into steve’s neck, and he freezes slightly- before he smooths his hand over your back carefully.
“they’re gonna think somethings up, baby.” steve murmured and you whined softly, shrugging your shoulders. “they are.” you let out an indignant huff, pressing yourself tighter against steve, who made no actual move to peel you off of him. “do you not care anymore?”
“you’re the one who cared if they knew.” you mumbled your words against steve’s chest, and steve stifled a laugh as you snuggled closer and shut your eyes. “if i want to snuggle my man, ‘m gonna snuggle him. don’t care what they think.”
steve said nothing further, instead cradling you to him, with one arm as he used the other one to snag a throw blanket. he covered both him and you, letting you snuggle as close as you wanted. interestingly, robin and nancy didn’t spare either of you more than a glance, and that was just to see if either of you had any input on the movie they watched (you didn’t). even eddie didn’t comment when he made his way back down the stairs, flicking off the overhead lights before he launched himself onto the couch.
while the movie played, the shining, specifically, steve kept his arms wrapped tight around you. none of your friends said a word, even as the group (minus you, seeing as you’d drifted off before the movie had even been chosen), talked through the film.
when you finally woke up as the end credits started, you yawned, and uncurled yourself from steve. steve watched appraisingly as you stretched, tank top riding up on your hips as you stretched your arms high above your head. you let out another yawn, before you turned and smiled at steve.
“i’m gonna go start food, wanna help me, baby?” your voice was soft and it was clear you were still half-asleep, and steve nodded following after you slowly.
interestingly he noted, no one batted an eye at your use of the pet name. when steve was at the top of the stairs, he heard the crinkle and low voice of eddie, rattling off a couple names to robin and nancy. the two girls seemed to put their input in, and steve was still chuckling when he joined you in the kitchen.
“what’s funny?” you murmured, soft spoken as steve wrapped his arms around you from behind, pinning you to his chest as he ducked his head down. steve pressed a soft kiss to the top of your head, watching as you turned a burner on. “hm?”
“pretty sure eds and the girls are trying to figure out if we’re dating someone.” steve chuckled, nosing at your hair as he watched you dump a thing of hamburger meat into the pan.
you giggled at that, since the two of you had already filled each other in on the weird moments about music with eddie when you’d been driving with him. neither of you were worried about him though, not really anyway.
“funny.” you murmured, and you didn’t protest as steve plucked the spatula out of your hand, though he still kept your back pressed to his own chest. “think they’ll end up confronting us?”
steve chuckled, shaking his head as he thought about the trio downstairs in the basement, before he spoke.
“oh without a doubt, baby.”
•••
a week later, eddie sat in the back of his van with both nancy and robin, the van facing toward the drive-in’s screen. some double horror feature was playing, and while both you and steve had bailed, the trio had still wanted to attend. steve apparently had a migraine and you the stomach flu, so the trio had just sent you well wishes and still went.
eddie took a slow drag of his cigarette, glancing around as he eyed the cars that surrounded him. everyone was waiting on the second movie to start, the first having been over for a couple of minutes already. nancy whined when robin smacked her arm, and eddie jumped as robin smacked his too. when eddie turned, robin was grinning- gesturing a hand out into the crowd.
“isn’t that steve’s car?” robin was grinning even wider now, and eddie cackled as he stubbed out his cigarette. “oh my god it so is isn’t it?”
“and the windows are fogged up.” nancy giggled, and eddie grinned at his two friends, before he gestured toward the car with his chin.
“what do you say about going and saying hi?” eddie was grinning even wider when the two girls jumped up, and eddie followed suit after closing the back of the van.
steve’s noticeable car was several rows ahead of them, the last in the row. the windows were fogged, and eddie couldn’t help but stifle a laugh as he neared the driver’s side window. eddie could hear music playing from inside, madonna’s ‘crazy for you’ crooning from the car’s speakers. eddie grinned wide at nancy and robin, before he rapped his knuckles against the window.
a beat passed, then two, and eddie knocked again. he could hear mumbling inside the car, clearly steve’s voice, though he couldn’t make out the second. when another beat passed and the music was turned off, eddie knocked for the third time. eddie smiled again at robin and nancy who crowded closer as the driver’s window started to roll down before…
holy fucking shit.
you were perched in steve’s lap, lips red, smiling shyly up at the trio. steve was under you, hair mused as he grinned cheekily at eddie, before his eyes flickered to robin, and then to nancy’s. you were in a tiny sundress, something drastically different than what you usually wore, and eddie swallowed harshly when steve slid the strap of it back up your shoulder fondly.
“hey guys.” you were grinning, all teeth and crinkled eyes, before you extended your hand with a small giggle. “nice to meet you, ‘m stevie’s girl.”
no one made a move to shake your hand, and when you brought it back in, steve extended his own. he was flushed pink, lips puffy from being kissed, and he licked at the corners before his grin widened.
“nice to meet you all, i’m hers.”
•••
eddie had decided on that night that he was a terrible fucking detective, and had somehow missed what’d been clear as day right in front of everyone’s eyes. you and steve later explained you hadn’t hidden your guys’ relationship for any malicious reason, it was just new and you both weren’t exactly sure where it would actually lead.
years later, at your wedding with steve, neither of you could explain to anyone other than your three closest friends why your favorite present was what it was. it wasn’t large or expensive by any means, but the second both you and steve had seen it, you both had erupted into a fit of giggles.
inside of a shadow box were the following items;
one the right, the list from the tape in steve’s car.
on the left, the list from the tape in yours.
at the bottom, in between those, two unlabeled cassette tapes side by side.
just above the two tapes was what had really sent you and steve into a fit of hysterics.
it was two separate lists of names of students that had gone to or once attended hawkin’s high.
some x’d-out, some circled, some underlined.
the most interesting thing, however?
neither your name or steve’s were anywhere on it.

An Ode To Roadtrips (Fruity Four x Gn! Reader)
Or, you had always wanted to go on a roadtrip, when you go with your four loves it turns out it isn’t exactly like in the movies.  1.9k
Inspired by @love-toxin (their stuff is great go read!)
Tumblr media
Eddie’s elbow was jamming into you and continued to do so with increasing velocity as Eddie complained that none of his music was on the mix tape. Steve insisted it was on shuffle and one would come on soon. The discussion began anew every time a new song played and you were growing sick of it, but Eddie, who had ‘suffered through an entire ABBA tape’ was not going to let up anytime soon.
A cooler crammed on your lap was only adding to your discomfort. Your ass was aching on either side no matter how often you readjusted. Eddie had promised to swap it to his lap during the initial packing phase. Then his long legs hadn’t fit under Steve’s seat.  So his legs were jammed up against the seatseat and there was no room for the cooler on top of them. His uncomfortable position was only encouraging his sour mood.
Robin was the third in your backseat trio and she was suffering from car sickness. She had promised she still had some travel sickness pills when Nancy had asked. Told everyone she had some in her backpack when Steve questioned her before setting off.
Only she had packed an empty packet.
Your hand was entwined with hers, squeezing it every so often in solidarity.
Steve ignored Eddie’s whining and turned Whitney Houston up louder. Eddie sank back into his seat once again and dropped his head against yours, smacking a kiss to it.
Nancy and Steve were the only ones who were in relative comfort. Both sat in the front seats, Steve driving and Nancy giving him directions, the map dutifully laid on her lap.
Every so often Nancy would watch Robin in the rearview mirror. She had a soft spot for the two of you. You knew it was killing her that she couldn’t take Robin's sickness away, it was killing you too.
This whole road trip had seemed like a fun idea when it had been brought up. Going far away from Hawkins for a little while, deep into the woods where no one could disturb you. Allowing the five of you to fully relax for once. Not having to worry about prying eyes, about if you were acting too close for a group of friendly roommates.
You only realised a little too late the reality of how annoying road trips could really be. Crammed into a car with too much stuff. The lack of space causing any possible tension to be multiplied. God forbid someone needed the bathroom shortly after you had already passed a service station. Of the five of you, only Nancy and Eddie had truly been on long road trip drives before. Nancy with her family and Eddie with his bandmates, going to shows in his van. It wasn’t living up to the romanticised fantasy you, Steve and Robin had envisioned when planning.
“Not much longer now,” Nancy assured. The three of you in the back were glad to hear it. Eddie seemed to perk up at the news.
He pressed a smattering of kisses to the side of your face. You moved your face to kiss him back, your free hand cupping his cheek to hold him in place. He shivered at the coldness of your touch, caused by the cooler. You nipped lightly at his bottom lip making him whine. “Hey,” Mumbled Robin, not wanting to be left out. She looked so pitiful, looking up at you from her slouched position with a pout on her lips. She slumped against you, shoving the cooler against Eddies legs to get closer.
“Ow!” Yelled Eddie dramatically, rubbing his hand up and down his leg. He slid an arm around your shoulders to pull both you, the cooler and Robin closer to him. His hand carded through Robin's hair the way that he enjoyed with his.
Robin hummed in appreciation.
You melted in the embrace of your two loves. Robin snuggled in as close as she could get to your chest, Eddie sandwiched between you and the cooler. It hadn’t always been this easy.
Initially, Robin struggled with feeling a little like an outsider in your group. She was the only one who wasn’t sexually or romantically attracted to everyone in the group. It had been a little awkward at first, she wasn’t entirely sure how to slot herself in, but you all talked about boundaries and it was clear that between the two guys and her everything was purely platonic.
Steve was her platonic soulmate, the solid rock by her side who always knew how to calm her down when she was getting into her head. Eddie on the other hand, brought out her wilder side.
You, Robin and Eddie, had become thick as thieves, always causing trouble much to Steve and Nancy’s chagrin. The two of them were the caretakers of the group, they loved you all so much and took care of you in their own ways. You all may not have had a traditional relationship, but it worked so much better than any relationships you had been in before.
“Steve! Stop the car!” Robin blurted out.
“Are you gonna be sick?” He exclaimed, “Please not on the seats,” He quickly pulled over. Your hand moved to soothingly rub at her back and Nancy spun to her, concern crowding her features.
Robin scrambled out of the car. You followed out after her, ready to hold her hair back.
Prepared to be met by a retching Robin you were shocked to see her bouncing on her toes, with a toothy grin. She was pointing at something and you couldn’t help but let out a laugh at what you saw.
There, in the middle of a rundown farm was the self-proclaimed ‘world's largest trumpet’. "Robin, what the fuck?” Steve exclaimed, adrenaline running through him at his sudden stop.
“Please Steve we have to see it!” She begged, clasping her hands together. Suddenly it clicked in your mind as to why Robin had insisted on going to this particular campsite even though it was an extra hour away.
“Fine” He huffed, trying to hold back a smile. “15 minutes,” He warned, using his best dad voice, holding up his finger.
His hands rubbed soothing circles into the bottom of your spine, his mouth pressing kisses to your cheeks.
She squealed, her excitement met by Eddie who was racing her to get there first. Steve shook his head, watching the two idiots try to trip each other in the grass. “I swear...” He muttered, wrapping both his arms around your waist. “How is she running when she could barely move without threatening to hurl a second ago?" He questioned.
The two of you waited for Nancy who was rooting in the boot of the car for something.
“Sore?” He questioned, feeling the way you keened into his touch and closed your eyes in relief.
You nodded your head before burying your face in his neck. “My ass hurts” You mumbled, rubbing your nose against him.
Steve snorted, moving his hands further down. Blocked by the car it seemed like you were hugging, rather than receiving an ass massage. You lifted your head, your chin moving to rest against his chest. You cupped his cheek, smiling as he leaned into your touch. “Are you sore?”
Steve shook his head and tugged you back into him again. You knew he was lying, there was no way his shoulders and back couldn’t be a little stiff. Your arms snaked up from around his waist to his shoulders. Your hands dug in trying to find a good rhythm and you were rewarded with Steve sighing contentedly when you did.
“Got it!” said Nancy smiling in victory as she pulled out her camera. You pulled away from Steve with one last kiss and both of you linked hands with Nancy, one of you on either side.
You slowly walked over to the other two, warming your legs back up. They were racing around the trumpet and waving their hands, yelling for the three of you to hurry up. When you finally reached them, they were out of breath from their excitement.
Nancy insisted on taking photos in front of the trumpet, getting you all squished in together so she could take it and be in the photo too.
“It’s over 104 feet long!” Robin explained once the photo shoot was over, “Isn’t that cool? And-” Her next fact was interrupted as a toot came from the trumpet in question. You all turned and saw a bashful-looking Eddie standing at the mouthpiece. “...it even works,” Robin finished, scowling at Eddie.
“That’s disgusting!” Yelled Steve “Think about how many people's mouths have touched that.” Eddie only laughed, not taking Steve’s disgust seriously.
“Yum,”
Robin stuck her tongue out in disgust and Nancy had a similar response. You giggled, even more so when Eddie stuck his tongue back out at Robin.
“I’m not kissing you after that,” Steve said and Eddie's childish glee diminished at once.
“What! C’mon,” Eddie pouted.
The pout on Eddie's face finally made Steve smile, “That’s what happens when you misbehave.”
“Yeah Eddie, that's what happens when you misbehave.” You parroted, crossing your arms to mirror Steve's stance.
“Oh yeah?’ He taunted. He launched himself at both you and steve, and the two of you dived out of the way just in time to avoid being knocked to the floor.
You then spent the next fifteen minutes running from Eddie as he chased everyone around and gave wet kisses to anyone he could catch. Your shrieks and giggles filled the air as you all ran around the field to avoid his sloppy kiss, until at last, you all returned, exhausted, to the car.
Steve’s original 15-minute rule had gone forgotten, though he didn’t seem to mind. Hesat on the hood of his car with Eddie standing between his legs, pecking his lips over and over again.
Nancy was rearranging the items in the back, trying to find a way to fit the cooler in the trunk and at least make it so you didn’t have something so heavy and cold digging into you for the rest of the ride.
You ended up sitting on a sleeping bag rolled out over the back seat with a couple of blankets tossed over top. Robin was fast asleep, a balled-up jumper cushioning her head against the window.
Eddie was drooling on your shoulder, mumbling in his sleep. You weren’t far behind either, eyes blinking back open every time you caught yourself dozing off until at last you went slack.
Nancy grinned in contentment, telling steve each direction softly as not to wake you all up.
They came to a stoplight and Steve used the moment it gave him to look back at his favourite people knocked out in the back. Nancy's hand covered his on the gear stick and he lifted it to his mouth for a sweet kiss.
The mixtape switched over to the next song and Sweet Child O’Mine played quietly throughout the car. Eddie sang along in his sleep.
It was rare he felt content nowadays. He was always looking for danger after the horrors he had been through. Now he let himself relax.

“you-you’re so beautiful.”
you smile up at your boyfriend—his own body swaying just ever so slightly as he stared so lovingly at you.
steve had a party to celebrate him and robin successfully getting a new job. eddie was also so close to graduating that you told him to celebrate tonight and he had one too many beers.
now, at home, eddie couldn’t help but follow you like a lost puppy as you got ready for bed.
“thanks, eds.”
he shakes his head. “no, you don’t understand. you’re b-beautiful.”
he plops down beside you on the bed and tries to get you as close to him as possible. His chest is pressed up against yours and his arms rest near your hair.
“I love you so so much, I think I’m gonna explode.”
you smile, “yeah? you’re gonna explode on me?”
his wide glossy eyes look at you, mouth open in shock. “wait! no! i don’t wanna explode! i wanna be with you.”
you giggle at his pouty expression and press a kiss to his cheek. “time for bed, eds.”
“can I kiss you, though? please? I-I promise I’ll go to bed after.”
you nod, giving him the okay as he presses his lips against yours. it was a sweet kiss—one that made your knees buckle underneath one another if you were standing.
“I love you, sweetheart.”
you twirl a strand of his hair through your fingers and watch as his eyes flutter close.
“I love you too, baby. goodnight.”

(Cw: set in 80s so tiniest mention about society not being super open minded but that’s it, it’s v fluffy)
Robin Buckley x reader
Tumblr media
Your girlfriend Robin had had a pretty lousy day yesterday.
She came home nearly screaming, grunting long and hard as she threw her face into your chest as she (just successfully) landed on the sofa and your lap. When you stroked through her blonde hair to ask her what was wrong, she told you about this girl Kelly from her old high school who came to Robin at work and asked her out.
You were a little stunned, blinking and giving a small “Wow” as you kept petting your love’s hair. Robin at least turned her face up from your boobs, glaring up at you with that sharp eyeliner around those shiny blue eyes. Groaning “Uh huh!!” In exasperated agreement.
You were shocked Kelly had even been so blunt to ask, knowing what the townsfolk around here are like, but you lightly massaged Robin’s scalp as you let her explain, vivid hand gestures clanging her bracelets around, and all.
“Steve didn’t know whether to go to the store room, or stay and back me up, but like, I didn’t even know Kelly was gay! And she was always so mean in high school, I didn’t know if she was trying to out me or something.” Robin explained, cut off from her ramblings as she looked up to your huff in suspense at the small noise, cutting off her train of thoughts.
“Oh baby, I’m sorry.” You frown a little, stroking her freckled cheek with the back of your hand where you held her.
Robin just made some vague waving hand gesture, quickly moving on to keep up with what she wanted to tell you. “So yeah I said something like ‘Uhhh... no thanks! Sorry, no, I mean, I won’t tell anyone of fucking course’, goddamn!” Robin sighed annoyed “‘But yeah, sorry, not for me-‘ you know polite crap like that.” Robin looked up at you nodding, and you of course nodded back in solidarity.
“You’re very polite babe.” You sort of half lied, confidently though.
“Yeah! Exactly! But then she went all... mad! And started asking me ‘Ugh, what’s your damage?!’ And saying that I wasn’t hot anyway and she had plenty of dates lined up anyway!” Robin rolled her hands in the air, wafting near your face. “But then, like, why ask me out at all? Asshole! She clearly couldn’t handle me.”
Robin looks up to you, serious eyes from where she lays in your lap. And you can’t lie, sometimes you find the side of Robin that can be confident, mean, sarcastic, that side of her, pretty hot. And with her tone and her expressions right now, she was definitely hitting that part of her personality.
“She wanted you babe.” You nod seriously, and Robin’s blue eyes widen, some pink flushing beneath her freckles as she leans up so fast you have to swerve your head back, now sitting on your lap as she slaps her hands down to her knees, tucking them up with her. “That’s what I’m saying! Plus I wasn’t sure if she actually meant it or not, I mean she was never exactly ‘nice’ to me before.” Robin makes air quotes with her ringed fingers. “And then she turns around and says I’m ugly anyways even though she came to my work to try and pick me up!” Robin scoffs loudly.
And what your girlfriend is saying actually distracts you from the fact that just as much Robin can’t sit in a chair properly, she doesn’t really do the same in your lap either.
“Wait, she called you ugly?” You ask, a big expression of disgust turning on your face now, your hand going straight for the side of Robin’s chest where you can hold her, as it’s your turn to scoff. “Wow, you must’ve really demolished her self esteem Robin babe. I mean, to be fair, who can survive being turned down by you?” You exhale incredulously, pissed off someone would say that to Robin, even though you both knew they were just deflecting, but deciding to turn it around so the both of you could continue slating this complete loser, which is clearly the vibe that was happening right now.
“Right!” Robin throws her hands up one more time, before sighing, and turning her attention to cupping and stroking your face between her long fingers and sharp nails. “Well at least I never had to do that to you.” She smiles, finally feeling as vindicated as she knew she would be, coming home to complain with you.
And you let Robin pull you in for a kiss, that you more than happily joined in with. You let her be her more dom self as you carried her up to your room too. Although you knew Robin wasn’t done. Even if it wasn’t for her staring up at the ceiling in bed, and also stroking her hands kind of evilly.
Robin had a plan in mind. And she was more than happy to wake you up just as you dozed off on her chest, to ask you if you knew if Eddie and Nancy were free tomorrow night also.
One of the first things she did after smacking loads of kisses on your face until you were awake, and after the moment she said hello to you, was running with a blanket wrapped around her into the hallway; just as you’d woken up enough to be about to roll over, and cuddle her.
But it was easy to tell when your girlfriend was on a mission. You hear her saying “Steve! Listen!” But that’s about it, and you’re not surprised she woke him up too, at least it made sense where she was running off to.
You had an idea why she was eager to go talk to Steve, but Robin all but confirmed it for you when she came back, and told you she has a plan.
“That’s great babe.” You said right into the pillow you were face down in, with a pointed thumbs up, literally about to fall asleep again.
But then, Robin’s slender hands were running up your bare shoulder blades that the quilt just wasn’t covering. And you were smiling even before you opened your eyes, as you turned your head so your cheek was laying on the pillow instead, to see Robin standing above you. A different kind of devious smirk on her face and sparkle in her eyes.
Robin had said for you to hang out with Eddie and Nancy maybe, just to have some fun today! Because she needed to go out after lunch to meet up with Steve.
You kissed her goodbye after sharing a salad bowl together, and smacked a kiss onto your hand before slapping that on Steve’s temple, as he waved at you from the drivers seat, besides where your girlfriend was getting in.
“Thanks.” Steve gave you, eyes crinkled from the sun, and your sudden hand on his face, looking up at you, before you said bye to them both and waved them off.
Robin had told you before she left that ‘you’re all going out tonight’, having sounded very convincing on the phone to both Nancy and Eddie, as they also knew what side of Robin’s personality was shining today.
You were all meeting up at Steve’s house, which was the designated hang out zone, and luckily you all had keys, so you let yourself in pretty early in the day. Nancy had spent the past hour and a half with you in Steve’s home, and Eddie have arrived about twenty minutes later, all of you waiting for Robin, and Steve, as you played some Uno while waiting.
You all turned your heads up, different sounding “Hey!”’s from all three of you, when you heard the door finally open and shut. But you could barely spot a flash of your girlfriend, Steve right behind, and seemingly being dragged by Robin by the hand, as they both rushed up the bannister.
“Sorry babe, guys! We’ll be down later! Keep hanging out!” Robin encouraged you all. And even though you and Nancy shared a look of intrigue, Eddie already helping himself to more of the popcorn you’d brought out a while ago, you heard Steve’s bedroom door slam. And with a shrug, decided to leave Robin and Steve to it, they’d come down when they were finished. ...With, whatever it is they were doing.
You hadn’t even noticed that well over half an hour had gone by, until Robin was calling you from the stairs.
“Are you guys ready?”
You, Nancy and Eddie quickly got up, you sending her and Steve a “Yeah!” As you three stood up in the living room, waiting on in intrigue, until Robin and Steve finally walked through the door.
Robin walked down in a drop dead sparkly dress, glittery and her colour, with beautiful eye make up, and her shiny lips smiling open mouthed in anticipation at you, and all her friends. Steve was in a matching sparkly jacket too, that he’d been ‘persuaded’ to wear by Robin. With a long shirt tucked mostly beneath his going out pants, Steve could make anything look good you swore it was a superpower. But your girlfriend... your jaw dropped to the floor, in a wowed and breathless laugh.
When she walked in the room, the whole place lit up. Reflections of her dress by the lamp illuminating the room, and a bright beam on her face, causing the whole room to shimmer and glow, or maybe you just truly felt that, looking at how happy and stunning your girlfriend Robin was right now.
“Woah!” Eddie breaks the silence first, clapping his hands together once as he takes in the pair. While behind you Nancy gives an “Oh my God.” As you’re already on your way, running up to Robin.
“Wow babe.” You admire.
Robin opens her arms up, with a bright grin on her beautiful face. “Baby love.” She calls you, as you wrap your arms around her back, her own hands cuddling your arms in your hug.
Your hands run up her bare shoulder blades - that feel really silky smooth right now, wow - as you hug her close. Pulling your head back to look her up and down, admiring every little detail Robin poured into herself. “Wow... you look beautiful Robin.”
Robin bounces in her flats, rubbing your own biceps a bit - you’re sure she must’ve put some cream or powder on her hands too because they are just, so soft - before she leans in, to peck a small kiss to your cheek. And you can feel the sticky lip gloss leaving a small mark there too. “Thanks my love.” She smiles, still bouncing eagerly.
You hear Steve laugh at something Nancy says, seeing her pinch the fabric of his sparkly jacket between her fingers, both giggling. Eddie paying attention too, nodding approvingly at Steve. “Yeah, you polish up real nice Harrington.”
Which is met with a response of “Shut up.” By Steve who bitch flicks Eddie’s hand away from where he is, admittedly, prodding at him. But Steve smiling all the same, and it makes you smile too, even though he’s not looking at you.
You love to see him so happy helping Robin out, that’s he’s genuinely not upset at her taking his day away to get him all dressed up to match with her in a big sparkly outfit for her plan, or to have his friends staring and poking at him for it, any of the sort. He’s not complaining about the outfit, in fact no ones making fun of any of them, and to be fair, they’re styled so well they actually look amazing. But you do sincerely love, that Steve is your girlfriends best friend. You couldn’t imagine anyone better for that role for the love of your life. And you’re glad Steve has Robin too.
Steve noticed you smiling at him then, turning to face you. And as you caught his brown eyes, your smile only warmed. And Steve, the true friend he was to you as well, kept smiling back all the way.
Nancy comes to give Robin a quick hug, both holding each other’s elbows as she asks about what stores Robin has been to all day, when Eddie came over and pat Robin’s shoulder too, and she turned up to smile at her friend.
“That actually suits you too Buckley. And when you made your grand dramatic entrance, with all the lights and shit,” Eddie waves his hand in the air “you aura was totally moonstone... or like, diamond, or... shit which one of them is really sparkly?”
Robin just snorts, looking up at Eddie with a hand to her mouth. And Steve has that mom look on his face again, the one where if Robin saw it, she’d definitely laugh harder.
“Did you smoke before coming here?” Steve does the gesture to his lips, asking Eddie.
Nancy popping in, telling Steve and Robin “He says he had an edible maybe two hours ago? I don’t think he’s exactly down yet. At least because we all know Eddie’s stuff works pretty well.”
Eddie just beams, full teeth, straight at Robin and Steve, with his hands proudly behind his back, rolling on the balls of his feet.
You roll your eyes, smiling at your friend, but turning to Robin. Holding both her hands outstretched in each of your own, your thumbs rubbing softly across the knuckles of her cool fingers. “I declined.” You inform her.
Robin gets that big, put on ‘that’s surprising, in a delightful way’ sort of look on her face, as she tilts it at you. “Wow. Oh my God, you didn’t accept Eddie’s free weed this time?”
You shrug, still swinging your hands between both your bodies. “I knew it was gonna be your special night!” Is all you needed to respond with.
And God, if Robin doesn’t love you so much...
She gently grasps your hands as she leans over, pecking your lips solidly, and smiling at you the entire time she leans backwards. “Thank you my diamond.” She calls you, and you tilt your head with a smile at the new nickname. But when she turns to face Eddie after those words, with her raised brows and a knowing look on her face, it all makes sense.
You giggle, getting her attention swiftly back, and her blue eyes only twinkle more as you raise her luxuriously soft hands up with your own, and kiss over the backs of both of them.
“Mmh!” You can’t contain your excitement for Robin. Letting go of one of her hands and raising the other, twirling her grinning when she squeals and whoops with the movement. Making sure you focus on catching her in your arms because you know Robin’s not the most balanced when she’s wearing her usual sneakers, never mind flats.
With her in your arms, you just want to playfully growl and happily kiss all up her neck, burying your nose in there to kiss fast and lots, but you know the others around may not be quite as appreciative as Robin would be. So you settle for planting a sweet kiss to her jaw, lifting her back up straight, but still holding her in your arms, as you ask what you’ve been wanting to all day.
“So? What is the plan? Why are you and Steve all dressed up? I’ve been dying to know.” You hold onto her hand and wrists, Robin leaning in close to you, and you definitely notice her eyes not peering anywhere but your lips as she smiles. Even as Eddie and Nancy ask the same as you.
Eventually Robin looks up, seeing Steve was waiting for her to explain as the floor was hers, if she wanted it, and Robin stood up straight, rather than leaning into you, although she still kept you holding her.
“We’re going to the club tonight. Brava. The one where Eddie can get us in because he helped them fix their sound one time-“
Eddie bows, so lucky accidentally walking past and knowing *something* about speakers actually gave him and his friends a free pass to one of the better clubs in Hawkins.
“And it’s the one where Kelly works at.” Robin looks pointedly at you, and you slowly nod as you begin to get it. Steve’s nodding along too, clearly the first privy to Robin’s master plan.
“We are going to turn up there, looking stunning. We’re all going to dance, a full group of friends, we’re going to drink and have fun. And I’m going to be able to show you off.” Robin points her nose out close to you, her face adoring and admiring, and twinkling with delight at her scheme.
You smirked. Some people may be glad Robin wasn’t going there just to, maybe, show herself off to Kelly, as if to say ‘see I’m hot’, but you very much want to go to the club and praise that fact. I mean, you’d love being able to show everyone how smoking hot your girlfriend is, whenever the chance arises.
Robin smiles at your in on the plan expression. And she turns to everyone else, giving a coy shrug. “If she’s going to show up at my work and cause a scene, then I’m going to let her know what it feels like. Except I’m just going out and having fun with my friends and girlfriend.”
You squeezed Robin’s hip in approval. Kelly doing all that at Robin’s work was out of line. Plus, she was lucky it was only Steve around to hear, as you knew Robin was already out to him, not like Kelly would have. It’s nice to see that side of Robin coming out to kick ass, and go girlboss mode, as she rightfully should.
Nancy and Eddie eagerly agree with the plan, happy them all having a good night out and getting vengeance on behalf of their friend can be done at the exact same time.
“I wanna really dance with you there!” Robin says facing you. Your heart pumping as Robin brings her hands to the side of your chest. Rolling her palms along your skin and muscle, as her fingers slither to your spine. Catching yourself opening your mouth halfway, as if you let Robin in to kiss you. And you have to admit, a certain throb ran through your thighs when you saw a smirk just light up on her face, as her eyes found your lips, and you knew she’d realised what had just happened.
But, extremely unfortunately for you, Robin couldn’t grant you what you wanted because Steve who’d completely missed those subtle movements was wrapping his arm around Robin, and giving a big speech to Eddie, Nancy, and also you, about how wrong this girl was and how they all have to go out and defend their friend. Robin smiles and hugs into Steve’s side as he went on passionately, sticking up for her even in a room full of people who love her. And you absolutely just have to love Steve, no matter if he interrupted a kiss or not, there was no way you could care about his himboness traits coming into affect around his lesbian best friend.
Eddie cheers along with Steve’s little speech, and you and Nancy cry along too with approval. Steve bouncing happily on his feet at doing so well for getting his point across for Robin, and he looked down at her still underneath his arm, and with the way she was grinning, Steve felt proud for not only helping her get through a pretty crappy time, but really making it wonderful for her.
Although Steve did mention how he and Robin had been sharing a bottle of champagne upstairs while they were getting ready, and probably mostly talking and talking and talking, as per usual, due to how long they took. You presumed he got it from his parents cabinet, although you were slightly surprised to learn this because you just thought Robin and Steve were happy, because those two were usually the ones to get drunk first, if they were drinking together. Maybe they were slightly tipsy. You did want some of the champagne though if they hadn’t finished it off.
“You guys pre’d without us?” You ask, faux offended.
Robin extended her arm out at you. “You guys could’ve been drinking all evening if you wanted! Steve still had to drive us back.”
Eddie mentions something about how he should’ve brought booze and weed tonight, to which Nancy just shakes her head, at least with a smile, at him. Causing Eddie to smile back.
But you ask Robin and Steve for some champagne, and they both nod. No one here cares about swigging from the same bottle as each other. You’re well passed that.
“We’re definitely drinking tonight, especially with Eddie’s free pass for us all at Brava.” Robin points out, and she wraps her arm over your shoulders. “I’m tired of being a good girl right now. I feel like I’ve been doing that for at least a month.” Robin moans. “We’re going out to the club, we’re all drinking, and when we get back I am really dancing with you. And maybe if no one’s passed out we can see about Eddie’s thing.”
Steve and Nancy fake groan at Robin’s suggestive nature of how she’d be dancing with you when it would just literally be them in a room together, but Eddie’s too busy fist pumping the air at being right about bringing edibles with him to the party just in case tonight.
“In fact, to not only show off our dazzlingness, but to all be on theme together, Steve and I have got you all matching sparkly outfits!” Robin finally reveals, and Steve laughs as he’s finally not having to hold that detail back anymore.
“Oh my God.”
“Holy shit!”
“You’ve got to be joking.”
You, Eddie, and Nancy all chorus, as Steve goes and brings three bags out from the hallway, you and your two surprised friends gasping and grasping onto each other, shocked but so eager to see what’s in store.
Nancy’s was simple, and had some glittery tights and sparkly jewellery, to go with the outfit Nancy had said she was bringing, as when Robin had called her she’d asked about the fashion code tonight and what everyone was wearing. And Robin already knew what outfit Nancy was bringing, knew what to buy to go along with the set.
Steve head actually been the first one to spot the sleeveless denim jacket, that had the shiny silver spikes on the shoulders. You were trying to tell if some other parts were rhinestones, or just other spikes, or silvery buttony parts, but Eddie was already too busy moving it all about as he admired and inspected it.
To be honest, you knew no matter what, and you thought so did Robin and Steve buying this piece, that Eddie would 100% be down for commitment to the bit, and that he didn’t care about standing out. Especially when not all of you would be standing out ‘shining’.
“And of course,” Robin turned to you, Steve did too. The excited looks on their faces making your heart pump. Your eyes swivelling from them, to Nancy and Eddie who were now fully paying attention to you too, and down to where Robin’s double ringed hand reached down into the bag. “I bought a dress for you.”
Your jaw drops, a smile still on there of course, and Robin’s big blue eyes are delighted up at you. “I also got you shoes as a present. I wanted your outfit all to match.”
Your cheeks are heating with every extra stretch of your wide smile, your hand darting out and gently landing on top of Robin’s wrist in the bag. “Ohhh no, sparkles or sequins are not super my thing.”
Steve was the first one to respond, placing his hand down behind your neck. “Yeah, well, tonight it is.” He just smiles.
Robin shoved whatever was in the bag back down, removing her hand, but when you catch her eyes, her shoulders lift up, and she grins at you very excitedly, lighting up like a kid on chirhsmas.
Robin grabs your hand, and drags you up to Steve’s room with an eager screech. And as you follow suit quickly, so you don’t fall, letting her pull you with her thrilled sounds, as Eddie and Steve bellow laughter from downstairs, you are pulled into Steve’s room, Robin closing the door to show you what she picked out, and let you get dressed.
You fawned and gasped, and ooh’d and ahh’d when Robin spread your dress out on Steve’s bed, already eager for you to try it and make sure it definitely fit.
You were definitely glad she at least got you a style she knew you wore. And as you ran your hands over the lush material, you turned to face your awaiting and encouraged girlfriend, who you didn’t realised had her face just inches from yours, happily anticipating.
Giggling, after your initial tiny flinch, you leaned those three inches in and kissed her lips. Robin allowing herself a small moment of calm, kissing them back sweetly and shortly as she looked to you.
“Thank you sweetheart. It’s really pretty. I’ll definitely wear this more than once. Even if I have to purposely find an occasion to do so.” You smiled, your heart bursting as Robin laughed with glee, so happy you liked it!
You really did! It was sparkly and pretty and the dress was very much in your style, Robin knew exactly what to get you that would match the group, and specifically match her intentionally too, but also was something you’d like, even if you wouldn’t have thought it before. Because Robin knew you, and your clothes, and your style so well by now.
The shoes were actually very comfy too, especially for a first time wearing them. You supposed if after a club night in new shoes the comfort factor went extremely down hill, you had at least three people out of the four who’d be able to carry you home, back to Steve’s. Honestly actually, you wouldn’t put it past Nancy to do so if it was life or death enough either.
You place your hands on Robin’s face, finally in the quiet of an alone room together, and you look deeply at your wonderful love. Robin matching your expression and looking back. Her hands tenderly coming up to rest on your forearms, her head leant into one palm as you kept holding her face. Robin’s eyes trailed to your lips, then back up to your eyes again, but her own were now hooded after a glance there.
You smoothed your thumbs over her cheeks, getting Robin to stop leaning in the second she was about to move another slow centimetre or two, and looking to you as you softly spoke, a loving smirk on your face. “You know, if we’re gonna complete your look, your eyeshadow needs to shine too.”
Robin’s eyes, surrounded by her smooth make up, shone in excitement, and you removed your hands to look in the bag you still have strapped over your shoulder, having been ready for her when Robin came downstairs with a camera in there, although getting caught up in the moment.
You whipped out a massive make up bag, with nearly all the make up you’d collected over the years, having a feeling you’d need it tonight with the hints you were able to pick up from Robin, whether she’d meant to give you all of them or not. Robin clasping her hands together and linking her fingers as she gasped happily down when you opened up the colourful bag.
Throwing it next to the bottle of champagne, courtesy of Steve, that you and Robin would be finishing up soon.
“Okay, get on the bed,” you ordered Robin “I don’t want the floor to ruin your pretty dress.”
To which Robin eagerly agreed, with a small closed mouthed scream. Lying flat down on Steve’s bed, you crawled slowly over her body. Sitting yourself down on top of her lap, your legs either side of hers. Before slowly leaning the top half of your body down. Your chest just about touching, with every little breath or movement around. Your eyes excited and with that cheeky love there that you both used to feel when you’d just be ‘being playful with each other’ when you both had a mutual crush. Flitting them all over Robin’s face, as you watched her eyes shimmer with the exact same look. Pink flushing hard underneath that pretty make up and those gorgeous freckles. Biting down on her bottom lip, a look you really couldn’t tear your eyes away from. As her hands came running up your thighs, to gently secure your hip, to hold you safe while on her.
Resting your hand caressing on Robin’s soft cheek, you can feel her eyelashes brush over your thumb, when she leans into your hand. Just as you apply more sparkly eye make up to her first layer.
Focusing really hard, even if you’re constantly smirking down with such adoration at Robin, as you gently hold her face, while she carefully holds your hips. Brushing your fine make up over her, and taking lots of care into making sure it worked well with what she was wearing, and all was done properly to perfection. Making sure Robin really would shine out tonight.
Knowing your girlfriend will give you the same treatment back at some stage. Whether she’s on top of you and doing your make up with care before, in between, or after you’ve gotten undressed, and changed into her very pretty dress. That Robin got just for you, and for her special night.

How 'Stranger Things' Characters Would Kiss You - The Spicy Six
This post includes: Steve, Nancy, Eddie, Robin, Jonathan, and Argle.
-----
Steve:
Steve would kiss you lovingly and passionately; a kiss with meaning. Being the King of Hawkins High, rumour has it that Steve Harrington is a player. But, the truth is that he jumps from relationship to relationship simply because he wants to find the one. So, when he meets you, he counts his lucky stars. He kisses you as if to say 'I can't believe I finally found you.'

Nancy:
Nancy kisses you slowly. She likes to take her time, letting you know that she adores every moment in your embrace. She's a hopeless romantic, and will cherish each touch of her lips on yours. As she treats you with care and fragility, it sends goosebumps through your skin, leaning into the building kiss.
Tumblr media
<3
Eddie:
Eddie's kisses are intense, with intention. He knows what he wants, and he isn't afraid to show you. Whatever the context, whatever the situation, he will kiss you like he means it. Whether to show how much he loves you, how much he appreciates you, or how much he needs you, his lips always make it clear. After recovering from deaths door, Eddie hates to waste time. For him, it's all or nothing.

Robin:
Robin smiles when she kisses you, feeling the upwards curve of her lips on yours. After navigating her sexuality for years, she felt alone in her struggle. But somehow, in a world that seemed against her, she managed to find you. When she kisses you, she remembers how lucky she truly is, to have finally found a place she belongs.
Tumblr media

Jonathan:
Jonathan's kisses are long. When his lips are on yours, time stops, sometimes in each others arms for hours on end, kissing and giggling the minutes away. Jonathan had never had the best luck, especially when it came to relationships. If anything, he had the tendency to push people away through his own insecurities. But with you, he vowed not to make the same mistake, making the most of every single second his lips are on yours.
Tumblr media
<3
Argle:
Surprisingly, Argle's kisses can be extremely deep. Sure, as you smoke together, he may start with some small pecks, chuckling as he presses his mouth light-heartedly over your face. But by the time you're one joint in, you best believe Argle will have you pulled close to him, hands running down your back, his lips melding with yours in a messy, hazy, intoxicated kiss.

T.W. implications of sexual assault, canon violence
The wear and tear were hardly visible in the summer sunlight - that's where Steve thrived, with his tan skin and admittedly nice chest and excellent swimming skill - but now, sat in front of his parents’ campfire with his head against his fist, he looked decades older than he really was. Nancy held her roasting stick tentatively, the marshmallow threatening to collapse into the fiery pit below as she distracted herself in tracing the shadows that fell underneath his eyes. In the harsh light he looked almost in a constant state of grief, with heavy eye bags and lines along his forehead, lips pressed in a thin line and hair limp from the heat.
Robin sat beside Nancy, the two having commandeered the foldout loveseat upon arriving in his backyard. She was expertly placing two roasted marshmallows onto their respective graham crackers - one burnt to all hell and one barely cooked. She passed one to Steve, who had his hand open and waiting as if second nature to accept food from Robin. He liked his barely cooked, apparently.
Eddie was nearly passed out in the lawn chair across the fire from them, a few purposeful feet from Steve after a day spent trying and failing to get a summer job. Surprisingly, nobody wanted to hire the assumed leader of a deadly cult. Robin suggested using it as a resume builder. Nancy suggested changing his name and trying out the next town over. He had his arms folded across his chest, a bit of marshmallow stuck to a long curled strand that Nancy didn’t have the heart to bother him about picking off.
Steve seemed to be contemplating shoving the entire smore in his mouth in one go.
“You alright?” Nancy asked, immediately wincing at both the lack of tact and impersonality of her question - they’d known each other long enough to forgo conversation starters like that. “You look, um.”
“You look like shit,” Robin helpfully interrupted, sucking off a bit of marshmallow from her finger and generally being the bane of Nancy’s existence. Steve looked up from the smore as if he’d forgotten they were there completely, a little look of shock on his face.
“I’m fine,” He said, but his tone of voice was anything besides reassuring. “I’m, uh, just not getting much sleep lately.” Nancy nodded, fully prepared to drop the whole awkward thing anyway. Clearly, Steve didn’t want to talk about himself or his well-being - he hardly ever did.
“Me neither,” Robin agreed. She took a bite of her burnt-as-hell smore, wordlessly taking Nancy’s stick from out of her loose grip and holding it patiently over the fire for her.
“Thank you,” Nancy whispered to her side. Robin knocked their feet together in acknowledgment.
“I haven’t slept since 1983, honestly,” Steve added, and while he was laughing as he said it Nancy didn’t take it as a joke.
“I have trouble sleeping too,” Nancy admitted to the both of them, hoping to coax them out into the open. Steve and Robin were a bit like frightened animals - make them talk about their feelings too much and they’d scurry away. Deer in headlights type. She had to be gentle. “I dream about - Barb. And Fred.” Just saying their names still made her choked up. Nancy ducked her head into her sweater, prepared to blame her watery eyes on the heavy smoke from the campfire. As she sniffled into the fabric, Steve hummed in neutral agreement.
“I dream about the mall,” Steve said. Beside her, Nancy felt Robin move her whole body to nod.
“You saved my life,” Nancy said, smiling wetly as she remembered both t-boning Billy’s precious sports car seconds before he flattened Nancy into the concrete. “With Toddfather.”
“That was, actually, a highlight of the night,” Steve said, laughing a little in reply as he bit into his smore. “Perfect, Rob.”
“Did you expect anything less?” She asked, pulling back Nancy’s stick just as it was beginning to catch fire. If smore-making could be a job, Robin would be making six figures, no doubt. It was little things like that that made Nancy love her so heartbreakingly. Even watching her do something as simple as making her a smore with the correct amount of chocolate and graham made her heart try to pull itself out of her chest.
“In most of my dreams,” Steve said, face grounding itself as he tapped a careful thumb against the top of his smore. “I’m - um. I’m back in that room.” Nancy frowned in confusion, taking Robin’s offered smore robotically as she looked at him.
“That room?” She asked. “What room?”
“We never told you?” Robin replied, a little surprised and a little cautious - Nancy’s heart began a steady descent down to her sneakers. What the hell had they not told her?
It was hard to check in on everybody, especially after that night. She and Jon had been so in the dark about everything else - and the hospital, god. She hadn’t allowed space in her brain for anything else, which she could admit now was a little selfish. Still, Nancy had never asked. And Robin had never said. Certainly, Steve hadn’t. She hardly knew a thing about his childhood, despite dating him for two years and being one of his closest friends for another.
“I know you guys got messed up by some Russians,” Nancy said quietly, surveying both Steve's and Robin’s faces. In the firelight, they looked eerily similar - almost haunted. “But I don’t know the details. I’m sorry.”
“Why are you sorry?” Robin reassured her, hand coming to pull her waist in close and squeeze the outer pocket of her jacket. “We forgot to tell you. I guess it never came up.”
“Who wants to talk about it, anyway?” Steve said, mostly to himself. He took another bite of his smore as uneasy silence fell on the group. Nancy felt terrible to push, but her journalist curiosity got the better of her.
“So - what did happen?” She asked. “You don’t have to tell me if you don’t want to.”
“It’s fine,” Robin replied. Nancy watched her make eye contact with Steve, and they proceeded to have a conversation with only slight twitches on their faces. It was the innate ability that came with being best friends the way they were. “You know about the elevator, right?” Nancy racked her brain, then: yes, a hazy recollection of Erica explaining how they’d ended up in the underground base in the first place.
“Yeah, I do.”
“Well, after they set off the alarms and figured out we’d broken in, we all rushed into a backroom,” Robin began, eyes firmly set on the fire. As if she were embarrassed to tell Nancy - or nervous to see her reaction. “Dustin and Erica managed to get themselves into the vent system, to try to get out - but Steve and I had to hold the door to give them enough time. We were grabbed by a bunch of Russian guards and spilt up for interrogation. They kept us there for hours.”
“They beat me so bad I nearly died,” Steve cut in, teeth gritting against each other as if the words were forcing themselves out. Nancy noticed his empty hand, the one not holding his smore, was balling into a tight fist against his leg. “They didn’t believe me when I said I wasn’t working for anybody - they just kept hitting me over and over and over again. I couldn’t breathe, it hurt so bad.” That’s why his face was messed up so badly. Nancy couldn’t help her mouth from dropping open.
“When they brought us back together, I thought he-” Robin cut herself off, gasping as she suddenly realized she was crying. “Jesus, I. I’m sorry. I thought Steve was dead.” The last three words were mere whispers as if saying them to the air made it all more real. Nancy took her hand. Steve’s fist immediately unfurled to take her other, stretched beside the fire to grip with a fury she had never seen before. Robin continued to stare into the fire, unseeing.
“Did they beat you up, too?” Nancy asked. Robin let out a little breath through her nose in careful excess at the question.
“No,” She said quietly. “Well - they did. But not as bad as Steve. It was only in reaction to - when they dragged me in there, I was wearing my Scoops uniform. You know, it’s a pretty shitty outfit for espionage, yeah? And - my skirt - I thought they were going to - so kicked one of the guards in the face, and that’s when they beat me up. But they mostly left me alone.”
It was difficult to pin down exactly what Nancy felt at that exact moment. At first, it was cold horror at the steady, small implication of what Robin was saying; what those guards would’ve done to her, had she not been as ready to fight back or them not as lenient in letting her alone. But horror gave way quickly to a tidal wave of fierce, untamable anger. One that roared in Nancy’s chest and took over her whole being, face reddening with intensity and hand gripping Robin’s with white knuckles.
“Nance,” Robin chided. She looked away from the fire finally to make eye contact with Nancy. “It’s okay. I’m okay. You don’t need to break my hand.”
“Sorry,” Nancy choked out, releasing her grip only slightly. She was worried if she let go, Robin would float away - or worse, be dragged back down to the depths of the mall.
Steve’s face, in comparison, was a steady, heated anger - just as angry as Nancy, but none of the surprise. He’d known about this. Perhaps the entire time. Nancy desperately wished he’d said something, but on the same thought acknowledged it was all within Robin’s jurisdiction. At least she was telling her now.
“And then they drugged us,” Steve said. “And almost took off one of my fingers as a torture tactic.”
“Luckily Dustin and Erica came in then,” Robin finished, shaking her head and smiling despite the tears in her eyes. “The fucking idiots. I could’ve killed them if I had been able to stand up.”
“Horse tranquilizers,” Steve told Nancy, a similar smile on his face. The silence returned for a second or two before Steve was all but collapsing into Robin, pulling her into a tight hug that she returned whole cloth. Nancy stayed on the loveseat as the two best friends stood up for a better angle, gripping each other as if holding each other together. She rested a careful hand on Robin’s back and let her girlfriend fall against her shoulder, emotionally and physically exhausted, when the hug finally broke.
“I’m sorry,” Nancy said, because there was nothing else to say. Steve finished the rest of his smore and looked back into the fire. It seemed some of the shadows, while not entirely going away, had gotten a little lighter. As if the words they had spoken were floating off in the smoke. Robin looked about ready to fall asleep. “I wish I had been there.”
“I am so fucking glad you weren’t,” Robin said, voice muffled. She tucked her head against Nancy’s shoulder and shut her eyes. When Nancy managed to stop looking at the beauty that was her girlfriend in the firelight, she looked back at Steve.
“You can fall asleep, too,” Nancy offered. “I’ll keep watch.” Steve gave her a wiry grin and suddenly he was sixteen again, and the butterflies in her stomach awakened just enough for her to give him one in return.
“Thanks, Nance,” He finally decided, leaning back into his chair and tucking his hands into his jacket pockets. “It’s over, yeah? Like Rob said, it’s okay. We’re okay.”
“I don’t know what to do,” Nancy admitted, carding a careful hand through Robin’s choppy bangs. Steve’s smile grew as the fire winked.
“You’re already doing something,” He said, gesturing to Robin and her prone position against Nancy’s shoulder. “You’re something, Nance. That’s enough. That’s more than enough.”
Nancy, once again, blamed her tears on the fire. Steve didn’t say a word about it.

Now playing... Friends by Chase Atlantic
Thinking about eddie using you to get chrissy.
.・。.・゜✭・.
All of your friends had told you to stay away from the freak. You should've listened to them, but no your young naive self said otherwise.
You weren't even supposed to find out; you were done with cheer practice so you thought why not go find Eddie? You just so happened to walk in on Eddie talking to Gareth in a vacant room. None of them seemed to notice you.
“Dude, do you ever plan on telling her?” Gareth asked.
“Tell who what?” You thought to yourself. You knew it was wrong to eavesdrop, but you couldn't help it.
“Nope, it’ll break her. What will I even say? Hey my lovely girlfriend of 4 months I've been using you to get closer to your best friend Chrissy.” Eddie responded chucking.
It seemed as though your heart stopped beating right there and then. He’d been using you? No No, he said he loved you. This wasn't your Eddie or so you hoped. You knew you needed to clear your head. You tried walking out of the room unnoticed but with your hands shaking and vision becoming burry all your books ended up falling with a loud echo which caught Gareth and Eddie’s attention.
Both of their heads whipped in your direction. Eddie’s heart stopped after seeing it was you who had walked in. His mouth went agape with fear learning you had overheard their conversation.
His precious girl was upset all because of him. He wanted to run over and hug you, but he knew he’d fucked up bad.
“So you were using me?” You asked, eyes glossy with unshed tears. Don't cry now y/n.
“Baby no I swear I can explain -” Eddie started panic evident in his voice, but you abruptly cut him off with a sneer.
“Save it. They were all right about you, you suck Munson.” That was the last thing you uttered to him before turning around and running away from everyone.
