Functional Victorian Washstand
This is a washstand by Kerrigan House Designs, and since released, I dreamed of it being a functional wash basin. I imagined how I could do it, but I lacked the know-how.
NOT ANYMORE!
With the help of Serinion's "Ablution Chamber Basin", I have managed to make this function as a proper bedroom basin, for your sims to do their daily wash!
There's a misconception that Victorians and previous generations didn't bathe at all - the truth is that they didn't sit in a bath, or a stand in a shower on a regular basis; what they did do, is WASH. This is where they would have a basin and jug in their bedroom, and they would use this to wash their smelly parts - or any other part of their body they wished to clean.
This basin functions as a sink - you can brush your teeth, wash your hands, shave your face; as well as take a "sponge bath" OFF THE GRID.

I have added the "Sponge Bath" interaction by connecting the basin with Cepzid's "Sponge Bath at Sink" Mod - so it is required in order for this to work.
Another feature is the mirror; it's impossible for the functioning sink to be in the same file as a mirror; and KHD's washstand did not feature a real mirror. So, I have created a separate mirror that just slots into place. Once placed, it will move with the stand, so you don't have to move things separately.

In Build/Buy, I have put the washstand and the mirror in the plumbing category, right next to each-other, so that you don't have to search around, and go different places to put it all together:

There's six different swatches, which will hopefully fit nicely in whichever room you want to place it!

I have also put lots of slots by the water jug, so you can place soaps and towels or other knick-knacks as you please.

Hey. Your brain needs to de-frag. Literally it needs you to sit there and space out.
If you want your memory or executive function to improve, stare out a window at the skyline or sidewalk or trees or birds on the electrical wires for like 20+ minutes per day. (With no other stimulation like a podcast or TV if you can manage but hey baby steps innit). If you're fortunate enough to have safe outside with any bits of nature, go stare closely at a 1 meter square of grass and trip out on the bugs and shapes of grasses and stuff.
Literally this will make you smarter. Our brains HAVE TO HAVE this zone out time to do important stuff behind the scenes. This does not happen during sleep, it's something else.
That weird pressurized feeling you get sometimes might be your brain on no defrag.
Give your brain a Daily Dose Of De-Frag.

Feeling something doesn't mean it's true.
You, the consciousness, are the ruler, and your life and body and mind are the domain you rule. Your feelings are your cabinet, your privy council, your viziers. You need to learn when to heed their advice and when to ignore their bullshit.*
Because some of your feelings are loyal to you, and some of them are secretly working for your enemies, lying and scheming against you. Your shitty mom, who made you feel like an inconvenience when you asked for help. Your asshole ex, who made you feel ashamed of needing affection. The collective messages of the appalling world around you that make you feel unattractive and unsuccessful and unlovable.
Feelings are no more true than thoughts.
This is why it's important to have the universal truths @blooooom is talking about, a Bill of Right. Develop a set of core values against which to check your thoughts and feelings and actions. Like:
Every human being is as much a person as every other human being.
Every person is entitled to be treated by every person with respect and decency and kindness.
Every person is entitled to act for their own survival, wellbeing, and freedom.
You need to eat, drink, and sleep enough and take your meds, or your body and your mind will not function properly.
If your thoughts or feelings don't match up with your universal truths, don't trust them. Interrogate them. Find out who they're really working for, bc it's not you.
Act according to your universal truths, not according to your feelings.
But have a snack and drink some water first.

the cure to self-sabotage is to anchor yourself to the universal truth that you are worth it. you are worth the effort. you are worth the difficulty, you are worth the time, you are worth the consideration. there is never a point in your life, in time itself, that you are not worth it. return to this truth when you feel yourself slipping. do not let it go.
