Garbage - I Think I'm Paranoid 1998
"I Think I'm Paranoid" is a song written, performed and produced by rockband Garbage and was the second single released from their second studio album Version 2.0. It was released internationally in July 1998, following up on the success of the band's prior hit, "Push It". "I Think I'm Paranoid" reached the Top Ten on the UK Singles chart and Airplay charts, while across the Atlantic also becoming a hit on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart. "I Think I'm Paranoid" became the biggest hit from Version 2.0 in Italy, where it featured on a 30-second advert campaign for Breil Watches and was placed in rotation by MTV Italy. The song reached number 25 on the European Top 50 Airplay chart and number 35 on the European Top 100 sales chart. In Argentina - the only Latin American country to see a commercial release - it reached number 4 on their airplay charts. In Chile, it reached number 4 and spent five weeks in the airplay top ten; while in Venezuela the single spent thirteen weeks on their airplay charts. In Mexico, it reached the airplay top five. "I Think I'm Paranoid" was licensed for inclusion on the 1999 PlayStation videogame Gran Turismo 2, and eight years later, on the 2007 video game Rock Band. In 2007, the song was remastered and included on Garbage's greatest hits album Absolute Garbage.
"I Think I'm Paranoid" received a total of 76,8% yes votes!

Welcome to The Bee Save!
This is a total redesign of the Sims 4 worlds and townies. The lots come in new and interesting architectural styles not explored in the base world, and the sims inhabiting them are stylish and have full personalities. New world descriptions, community lots (a bowling alley! an ice rink/diner! a movie theater!), and everything else you would want when you open up the game. It also includes plenty of multi-generational families spread across the worlds.
This is a pack-integrated save file: All packs (except Journey to Batuu and the dust kit) are utilized across the worlds. There are eco-friendly and industrial neighborhoods outside of Evergreen Harbor, lifestyles outside of Mt. Komorebi, vet clinics outside of Brindleton Bay, and more. Because of this, items or CAS details may be replaced or deleted by the game if you do not have all the packs.
Version 2.0 Changes
The hospital, police station, and science lab are all built now. If you want to download them for previous saves using this file, they are on the gallery. Username is the same as my Patreon.
No more kleptomaniacs...because apparently they just steal stuff.

To download, simply place the attached file in your saves folder. THIS IS NOT A MOD; IT DOES NOT GO IN YOUR MODS FOLDER. Read it, then read it again if you aren't familiar with downloading custom saves. If you already have the same slot filled, you can rename it to a later number as long as it has the same amount of digits. You may have to scroll down when you open the game and hit 'load game' in order to find it.
Remember to adjust your gameplay settings when you start up. As it is, the save file has autonomy and aging off.
Please note: This is an integrated pack file. If you do not have certain packs, certain CAS items and objects will not appear.

Exposition 2: Naming New Characters
This post is brought to you by one of the worst line deliveries in the history of Supernatural: Sam’s reveal of Ruby 2.0 in “Lazarus Rising”. Also a companion post to not playing The Pronoun Game.
Introducing new characters to a scene and figuring out the precise moment to announce their name without sounding clunky can be very tricky. So let’s break it down into three scenarios:
Name is known by the narrator to be given in narration
Name is either known by the narrator, to be given in dialogue, or known by another character
Name is not known to anyone in the scene but the new character
Scenario 1: Name via narration
Personally I don’t have any problem whatsoever with: “This is character, they do X.” It’s quick, inoffensive, and doesn’t need to get convoluted and over complicated.
Now, if this is meant to be a reveal to the audience, you’ll have to play the Pronoun Game for a bit until you pull the trigger (so long as it is motivated and reflects back on the characters and isn’t just because the author is bad at suspense), but I’d recommend reworking the scene so your narrator discovers this information with the reader for the lowest risk of confusing your audience.
Generally I think if you introduce a new character into a scene via epithet, then in the next paragraph have the narrator use their name, I think the audience is smart enough to pick up on: “new entity has arrived on stage = unfamiliar name must belong to them” so you can even skip the exposition tag entirely.
The cook returned from the dining room, freshly traumatized by a wild Karen. Tyler took a breath, steadied themselves, and resumed their station.
Scenario 2: Name via other character, or dialogue
This is the aforementioned Supernatural blunder. There doesn’t appear to be a clip for this specific scene on YouTube so the moment in question:
Ruby: [Walks in through the back door] “Getting pretty slick there, Sam. Better all the time.” Sam: [Sighs, and contemplates all his life choices that led to this moment] “What the hell’s going on around here, Ruby?” [Pause for dramatic effect and damn-near looks into the camera]
Ruby’s “Sam” is delivered seamlessly and is flavored with some dry wit, in character for Ruby.
Sam, on the other hand, not only pauses before saying her name, but emphasizes her name in a completely unnatural way. I didn't do it justice here explaining how clunky this is, just trust me.
Nothing sounds or reads quite so juvenile like awkwardly tacking on a new character’s name to dialogue when no real person would talk like that. The line serves purely as exposition and it’s glaringly obvious and uncreative?
How to fix? As I said in my other exposition post: Make it motivated. Have the name reveal come with either inflection, tonality, or dual purpose so it’s not just exposition.
Meaning:
Have speaker be trying to get the person’s attention, and call their name
Have the speaker admonish the person, using their name
If this is a happy reunion, have the speaker excitedly exclaim the name
If this is a bad reunion, have the speaker mutter, growl, whisper, or grumble the name
If this is a surprise reunion, have them speak the name like a question
Have the speaker use a nickname the new character doesn’t like, prompting a correction to their real name
Have the speaker blank, prompting the new character to supply it, while offended that they forgot
Have the known character introduce the new character after a few exchanges that isolate the narrator, prompting an explanation a la “Sorry, this is X, they’ve been my friend for years.”
Scenario 3: Name via new character
Very similar to above with the same advice: Make it motivated and double as clueing us in on something either about the new character, or about the characters’ relationship with the scene, or how they see themselves, or how they expect this meeting to go.
If they’re bold, sassy, or snarky, they introduce themselves like they expect their audience to be impressed
Or, if they expect that name to already be known, and are surprised or irritated that they must introduce themselves
Straight up, have someone ask them who they are if they’re not supposed to be there
Or have someone ask them in a social faux pas, blurting out the question and then being embarrassed by doing so
Have the asker be rude, demanding an introduction where it might otherwise not be appropriate
Have them introduce themselves with uncertainty, if they’re shy or unsure about where they’re supposed to be
You get the idea? Whatever it be, make it be in character, and you’ll pull double-duty (as most exposition should) both naming your character and immediately establishing a relationship between your characters.
Scenario 4: When plot demands you must wait
Bonus! This happens when asking for a name would ruin the pacing and be wildly out of place in whatever’s happening (like mid-fight scene), or the narrator is unable to ask for plot reasons.
In which case, this still can pull double-duty by having your narrator come up with their own way of identifying the person: maybe they come up with a cute or insulting nickname, or a unique feature stands out that they’re jealous they don’t have, or there’s an identifiable piece of clothing or uniform to call them by their profession (works well for a group of distinct unknowns), or they’re acting in a suspicious fashion and can be labeled with a derogatory adjective.
At which point, narrator can either sleuth out their name themselves or it falls into one of the previous three scenarios.
Point being, once again, you are establishing a relationship between these two characters as soon as they’re on page together. Your exposition is pulling double-duty.

When Amity and Hunter are cut off from they Evil Pumping Stations they are lost all personality
Belos is boring as fuck. His only character trait is that he is evil, which is laughable for the show that tell us people are complex. That’s why he only will be referred as Evil Dude
Odalia is so stupidly evil that it’s impossible to take seriously
Lumity is not developed further than “Girlfriends” and the only reason why Lunter could be better is because it’s just easier to develop
Luz and Evil Dude’s parallel starts and ends with the fact that they are humans
Evil Dude is an idiot
Collector could be named Plot Device
Raine is very meh. They only personality is that they are hero
Evil Dude is said to be the strongest witch ever, but he almost looses to five teenagers
What was the point of standing against coven system if in the end we have a squad from a fucking RPG game. Character form plants, character for illusions, character for abominations, character for teleportation
Evil Dude have as much super powers as the plot need
Characters have zero reaction of learning they arch enemy story
Evil Dude looses all small glimpses of being an actual character and become villain of the week
Absence of chemistry between Hunter and Willow can cause physical pain
For the Future is one of the most useless things created by a human being
Caleb Wittebane appears for reasons and never affects anything, so he will referred as Fan-service Background
Collector is an insult to God

“One character hears half of what other character says and is offended by it, only for the audience learn that other character didn’t actually mean what first character thought they mean” plot line is a violation of Geneva Conventions
Evil Dude spending 98% percent of his screen time in finale as giant roaring green blob is a final shot from a shotgun in a head of his characterisation

There two villains. One looks like a child, have sparkles in his eyes, and flies and a star with happy face. Second is goopy skinny, rots in real time, have eyes in places that supposed to be without eyes, and he shrieks like an Alien. Who of the two is going to be redeemed?
The moment Evil Dude is dead Boiling Isles is an utopia. If you take this seriously, I don’t feel sad for you, I will laugh at you
Hunter becomes Caleb 2.0, and that’s why you dig up in the fact that you are a clone, my boy. You never know if your actions are actually yours
Evil Dude’s death better than Toffee’s only because this time main antagonist dies by the end of the series
The fact that Owl House doesn’t redeem it’s main antagonist like Steven Universe or have a better ending than SVTFOE is not an argument

What's your thesis on
It's a game set in a post-apocalypse where the player is tasked with taking care of a farm and befriending the monsters they find on their journey!
Okay, so: I'm a gamedev student, my thesis is more of a project. What I finished is the alpha version of the game/a proof of concept. That funky thing is called XODÓ, which is a brazilian-portuguese word for something (or someone) you have a lot of affection for. You can refer to a dear friend or a beloved pet as "meu xodó" ("my xodó"), for example!
XODÓ takes place far in the future, and there's no humans around. The protagonist is a plant-creature also called Xodó. She goes by any pronouns, and used to travel on boat through a lot of different places until a storm hit her and she crashed into a strange island, full of buildings from the world pre-apocalypse! Xodó, however, isn't very interested on anything that doesn't involve fixing her boat, but she soon finds out that this task will require a lot of work, as she has to find resources and someone who can fix that thing.
I'm the main writer for the project, as well as the programmer for it! I'm not working on XODÓ alone - there's other 3 ladies with me -, and I believe we may be able to release the first main areas in about a year or so, then update the game with the rest of the map and content.
Some fun stuff about the game below the cut!
The player will be able to romance three different characters! There's also no punishment for romancing more than one at once, so you can go thro the poly route without worries;
The artstyle is inspired by the background of Puella Magi Madoka Magica;
Plastic is called "useless material";
There'll be seven NPCs if things goes as planned. I designed two of them! I have gender envy for both of them as well lmao.
If I could poorly describe the characters, it would be as follows:
Fish fear me, everyone wants me (Xodó);
Made superstition cool again;
Catholicism 2.0: The Electric Boogaloo;
Failwoman knows about manmade horrors and decides to be quirky about it;
Failguy knows about manmade horrors and is NOT quirky about it;
Doomed by the narrative lesbian;
"Why are you guys like this";
Horrors beyond your comprehension: Why you should let them in.
If I could poorly describe the island, it would be as follows:
Tutorial on how to have a job at 10 years old;
Why are there so many bodies here;
Brazilian train stations are surpringly clean even after the apocalypse!
Totally normal island where nothing weird happened;
BOATS;
Disneyland but make it... Uh... Mushroom?;
WHERE'S MY FLASHLIGHT.
If I could poorly describe the game, however, it would be something like "boat fixing simulator but you have ADHD and forgot you were supposed to fix a boat in the first place".

MAJOR SPOILERS FOR HONKAI IMPACT 3RD AND HONKAI STAR RAIL AHEAD
Before you read this, please consider that as of writing this I've only made it through chapter 12 of Honkai Impact 3rd and Honkai Star Rail 's 2.0 update isn't out yet. Thus I do not have all the information and context on those characters and story. Likewise, I am by no means an expert on storytelling and writing, especially when it comes to videogames, but I do believe I have good enough informations and judgement to make a coherent and rational assessment of the situation. Thank you for your understanding.
Ok, let us rationalize the possibility of Himeko dying in Honkai Star Rail. Let us think about it from a storytelling perspective. What would it bring to the narrative?
First, let's see why Himeko's death in Honkai Impact 3rd was so impactful:
Himeko's character by the time she dies is solidly established: she appears in the first minutes of the game, she's a prominent character who we see all the time, that we get familiar with, whose motivations and behavior we know. And most importantly: she's important to Kiana. Himeko's strong relationship with Kiana is expressed in the very first dialogues in the game, when Kiana doesn't use her title and Himeko reminds her she should. These two are extremely important to each other, they're friends, they're family, it's obvious they've known each other for a long time. Himeko is Kiana's mentor, probably one of the closest things she had to a mother figure, and Himeko obviously cares a lot about Kiana as well, which we see even more of in chapter 11 EX.
Now consider what Himeko was trying to do when she died: she tried to stop the Herrscher of the Void to save humanity, sure, but more importantly she was trying to save Kiana. Saving Kiana was her motivation, it's what allowed her to stand up to HoV because she had nothing left to lose and allowing Kiana to live a better life than she did was the most important thing to her in that moment . Now granted, she was also dying, but she had a way to remedy that, and she gave it up, again, to save Kiana. And the impact of her sacrifice on Kiana is HUGE, it follows her through basically her entire life(from what I know, I'm not very far into the story right now).
Let's also consider how her death was built up to: Himeko is dying, it's clearly stated multiple times that she's being corrupted by the honkai inside her and it's obvious from the start of chapter 7 that she's not doing great. Eventually she's granted a solution to this, but by that point we know enough about Himeko and we understand enough of the situation to see that she won't use it, because again, her priority is Kiana and the girls. Himeko's death is very visibly built up to, there's tension, we see her deteriorate and get weaker but we know she won't do shit about it because her priority is Kiana. So when she does die, we're devastated but we also understand why and how she died, it's not surprising at all.
Now let's apply all that to Honkai Star Rail.
Himeko appears early in HSR, but not nearly as early as in HI3, in fact we get introduced to a lot of other characters before we even hear her voice. Storywise she doesn't do much, she doesn't stay long on Herta's Space Station, she's not with us in either Belobog nor the Luofu and aside from two side quests, we see almost nothing of her in the game. And that's normal because she's not the main focus of this game at all. She's an old character from a previous game, she had her time to shine but HSR is about new characters and a new story, which makes her basically a glorified easter egg. While she's good enough to interest new players, if they haven't interacted at all with HI3 they won't have the emotional connection that comes with Himeko as a character, and since she doesn't really have much relevance storywise at that point, they won't care nearly as much if she dies.
Additionally, the trailblazer doesn't have a very deep connection to her either. The trailblazer has been on the express for like two months max at that point and almost never interacts with Himeko. She's nice and polite and she helps the trailblazer if they ask but that about it. She doesn't know them and they don't know her. Thus, while her death would be devastating for Welt ( because spoiler he's the same Welt than in HI3) and probably for the rest of the crew who knows her better than the trailblazer does, it would be of little consequences to the trailblazer themselves. Himeko's character in HSR isn't built up at all, we know next to nothing about her, she hasn't accomplished anything narratively either, the trailblazer probably doesn't care about her nearly as much as the rest of the crew, let alone as much as Kiana cared for HI3 Himeko and there's no build up to her death whatsoever, no appearing reasons for it.
While you could argue that HI3 Himeko's death was only built up in the arc leading to her death and not previously, the stakes in that arc are high enough and the characters are fleshed out enough by that point that we understand easily enough that Himeko or someone else will probably have to sacrifice themselves to save Kiana and stop HoV, something we don't see in HSR.
You could also argue that they killed Tingyun in the same arc she was introduced in without build up, but let's be honest here, Tingyun, while a great character, was a walking plot point. Her death was only there to make Phantilia's apparition more striking (and maybe it's just me but I thought she was pretty shady from the get go, probably because of the way she talks). Additionally, Tingyun is not Himeko, her death does not have the same impact on the player base as Himeko's death would because we haven't seen it before. Himeko's death was a big deal for the game and Hoyoverse knows this, they know that killing her again would have a lot of meaning so they need to be careful with the idea. As for Firefly, we don't actually know if she's going to die so she's not relevant here.
So I don't think they're going to kill Himeko in HSR (at least not yet) because it wouldn't make any sense. Narratively, they haven't done anything with her character and new players' emotional connection to HSR Himeko isn't strong enough for it to be meaningful. Killing her now would just frustrate HI3 players and would leave new players indifferent because there's no point to it. It would be a minor capitalisation of HI3 players' PTSD and nothing else which is just stupid. If they do plan to kill her, they need to flesh out her character a lot, so that it's as impactful as the first time and leaves the player base crying.
So while the presence and words of Shaoji in the special program were worrying, I think we're safe for now.
That was my rational assessment of the situation. Unfortunately my brain very rarely listens to reason and thus the traumatized part of my brain still fears for the future

2 new wpn classes
Juggernaut - water jug hammer
Turf board - hover board / surf board with water jets
Double sided Markatana - jotter class lightweight fusion. Attacks faster and swings twice but does half the damage of the original.
(Markatana 2.0 reworked incoming since we now know how swords work in Splat)
Bubble bands - working concept for “gloves” / dauber wpns. Unconfirmed wpn as of now.
Pallet board - sub wpn concept for reflecting enemy projectiles. Unconfirmed.

Expired Octolings. Another look at the “zombie” theme for potential hero mode shenanigans. They would use bones and ink to create monstrous anomalies. Idea was too similar to the dlc enemies so it’s scrapped for now. Using this energy on “exolings” check other posts.

I don’t believe this is the first stage I’ve shown but sharing this concept because we might actually see something like it in the real game. I’ve scrapped my idea for an airport stage bc I thought it wasn’t splatoon appropriate but there’s yet another idea I liked that I can actually say I’m happy to see.
But back to this stage. This train station is huge and underground. Idk how safe battling would be here but for safety reasons let’s just imagine that when trains are arriving there’s a clear shield wall around the rails. When trains are gone you can still fall out of bounds though.
For its turf war gimmick I could see the trains leaving and all the turf you’ve accumulated on top of (or inside) the train will be like a reserved area of ink that leaves the stage and acts as turf that’s permanently claimed. Imagine the trains as surface area that leaves mid match like a reverse of Mahi, where the change adds turf. In this case the change will hold on to turf as points that cannot be overwritten and a surprise after the match when the train returns to the station for calculating points. Just concepts for now tho. Might not even keep this gimmick idea.

SaL anon here bestie and its Friday, I may or may not have had a few after work drinks, we got approximately 2 million stills today and a beenado is happening so its time for Unhinged Season Opener Theory Based on a Micron of Evidence. The best part?? I can do it for the most part without turning the opening disaster into Copaganda 2.0. So buckle up for some absolute nonsense my friend, I've got this opening disaster all figured out 😉.
So we know/expect that beenado is eventually going to become a problem for flights inbound to LA, which includes the one Athena is transporting a prisoner on. I'm guessing that's what the hanger of what looks like every LAFD station is about, all hands on deck to deal with whatever fate befalls the many incoming planes, including the 118's hands. But what if Athena's plane isn't among them?? What if in subduing her prisoner from whatever nonsense (obligatory 10 minutes of copaganda), he takes out the controls and the pilot and they're off course and nowhere near where the LAFD is expecting the majority of the planes to land?? Well there's one person not yet accounted for in this and that is Captain Bobby Nash.
So we know Bobby is trying his best to keep a fake firefighter show grounded, but how would that translate to an plane emergency?? So, hear me out on 3 points: 1) Tim has referenced paying tribute to another 70's disaster film and the film Airport 1975 involves landing a plane with no pilot. 2) Modern planes barely need a pilot, most of them fly on autopilot these days so if you can get that working in theory, and as far as the GA knows, life is good and landing will be safe more or less. 3) Tim may be referencing the 70's, but Hotshots is coincidentally also the name of a 90's movie that was also a spoof, specifically of Top Gun, so *mumble mumble* planes!! So while the LAFD is too busy to rescue Athena, Bobby has access to a fake firefighter show with budget enough to afford their own "rescue" plane (so meta indeed!!) and willing to indulge Bobby if they get both the credit and a few choice shots. All they have to do is get close enough to give some critical god-knows-what to Athena (maybe they use a drone, no idea) and have Bobby give the actors a few inspirational speeches to get through some minor rough patch or another and all ends well with the heads of the LAFD so impressed by Bobby's resourcefulness the beg him to come back (I mean, he looks like he's back in the captain's seat pretty early on).
Is any of this going to happen?? Highly unlikely. But if Tim's gonna resurrect every pre 80's movie out there to come up with his plots he can't expect me to take any of this seriously. So instead I'm gonna have some fun and come up with plots I truly hope aren't more sensible than what we actually get (but not holding my breath on this). Cheers friend, Happy Friday 🍸!!
Hello my friend! I'm a day late since we (for once) had people over for game night list night, but this was such fun speculation! I'm loving the other movie references, and all of that is better than the (unfortunately far more likely) scenario I envision playing out. Mostly I'm just bummed that the show hasn't learned it's lesson about opening disasters and gone back to what works, but who knows! Maybe I'll be proven wrong, but I'm not holding my breath.
I DO want to see Bobby, after being an absolute nightmare of technicalities on set, take over when an actual emergency happens and maybe commandeer some equipment. Bonus points if the actors he's been harping on actually work together with what he taught them to pull of a rescue.
NGL, I think Bobby's stuff is the only thing that's been mentioned so far that I'm actually excited to see. I think then Madney/Henren stuff is going to be good but painful, as is the Eddie stuff, and I'm still feeling very 🙄 about them promoting Buck being the center of the Gerrard shit. Which could play out well, but I'm WELL past giving this show the benefit of the doubt. They lost that privilege several seasons ago. So with all the angst, I'm legitimately excited about the Bobby stuff as it looks like it might actually be some fun.

The idw comic really should have been an anthology series of sorts.
A series of self-contained stories that stand entirely on their own while still being compatible with the game timeline.
Then again, Sonic Channel already does that sometimes.
I just wish the idw comic was good instead of a mind numbing nothing burger.
Yeah that'd have been a good idea. Do the Star Wars Clone Wars cartoon thing. I can picture them jumping around the timeline providing short stories in-between games. One month an issue showing Sonic visiting the places he visited with Chip in Unleashed maybe reminiscing fondly over their travel photos and reconnecting with NPCs from that game. The next months issue showing the clean up and recovery efforts after Chaos flooded station square showing the characters helping with rescuing civilians and draining the flooding. Next months issue showing Eggmans robots recovering Shadow from near orbit and his process in studying his body and developing the Shadow androids. Next months issue a story showing Classic Amy trying to track down Sonic after the events of CD. Ect.
Those are all just off the top of my head lol. There's so much you can DO with the idea of a Sonic comic. But Flynn just wanted to make Archie 2.0 =\

Got a good painting session in at the local game store working on the commission Raven Guard. These three speeders are basically done now, they just need matte varnish, a few spots of gloss on the red lenses, and bases.
The portable painting station is the half-size "Mini Case" from Frontier Wargaming. I have their full-size "Paint Case 2.0," and I like it as a home painting station that's easy to fold up & put away, but in practice it's much bigger than it needs to be to transport supplies for a single project to and from the game store. This case is pretty much exactly the right size for that.
