I always wondered why they don't nickname Chilchuck to "Chil". Because Chilchuck is quite a long name, it's way easier calling him just Chil. And then this.
It's all the opposite of how it would normally work. Usually, people call each other by their first (or second sometimes) names, but when they're called by the full thing... it means either nothing good is happening, or they're being called in a formal way.
Isn't imposible to think that the party actually called him Chil, since it's his first name and a nice nickname for him. In fact, they probably did, and Chilchuck told them they shouldn't call him that and explained why. They stopped calling him Chil, and accepted calling him Chilchuck for the rest of their lifes, apparently. Actually, we don't see anybody calling him like that until...
Laios tries to get his attention with something that normally would. Calling him his first name, something that he told them specifically not to do doesn't even makes him flinch. And then he's sure that Chilchuck is out of it and proceeds to intervene.
It's such a subtle detail, I don't remember if they call him "Chil" on other panels, if they do, reblog with evidence so we have all the oficial Chil moments here.
You can't convince me Gale wasn't totally advertising himself as marriage material throughout the entirety of his romance. He's got a tower. It's got a great kitchen and a wine cellar. He can cook. He'll formally introduce you to Tara over a nice dinner. His mother will love you. And after so many years of the bar being in the pits of hell for irl men I fell for that shit hook, line, and sinker. Feel his shirt that smells like a library. It's husband material.
Link answered her question with a smile and a very, very tight hug.
The emptiness he felt waking up alone in the shrine of Resurrection, somehow knowing he "lost something...or someone"...it vanished instantly once he hold Zelda in his arms. He knew. and his heart felt full again.
Zelda can't believe Link is really is here. Alive, breathing, holding her. Knowing who she is.
The next shot of the sequence would be them slightly parting, Link takes Zelda's hand in his and rest them on his heart, saying "Yes. I remember you."
I always pictured the follow up to "do you really remember me" like the iconic Final Fantasy VIII Rinoa & Squall's reunion scene. FF8 is a milestone game title in my life. I doodled this in homage of the game's 25th anniversary celebration. Happy Anniversary FF8!! You are an imperfect game, and i dont care. I love you ❤️
No one ever tells Obi-Wan that he is his Master's padawan.
Of course, for most people who had known Qui-Gon Jinn, telling someone else they resembled the the man would in fact be a thinly veiled insult. But still, Obi-Wan feels the absence of comparisons almost as strongly as he feels the absence of his Master.
There is no one for Obi-Wan to push against now, no strong presence at his side, ready to grab him by scruff and pull him back from another reckless stunt. It's an odd feeling. He has been set loose against his wishes. There is no one to his left and Anakin at his heels, but Anakin had needed, still needs, a strong, gentle figure for his prickly but sensitive heart. For even their worst bickering could not hold a candle to the scathing remarks he and Qui-Gon had shot at each other and Obi-Wan knows he cannot push and needle Anakin in the same way.
When Qui-Gon had been alive they had been an amusing, mirrored pair, the maverick and his rule-following padawan. Opposites clashing against each other, yet working together to complete the most difficult missions. Few saw that Qui-Gon's impertinence had indeed rubbed off on his padawan, cultivated from that small, angry initiate, because the only way to rebel against the rule-breaker had been to parrot the Council fastidiously. No one would ever get to see that again. Obi-Wan is one half of a mirrored pair trying to complete a routine on his own. What once was an impish, teasing compliance is now a betrayal of all his Master's values.
"How could Qui-Gon raise such a model Jedi?" He hears them say, "It's admirable that Master Kenobi was appointed to the Council despite his Master's maverick ways."
Padawan Kenobi would have yelled and kicked and screamed. Master Kenobi is serene. It should feel like an achievement. It feels like a disappointment.
Sometimes, Obi-Wan looks at the shape of the man he has moulded himself into, and aches to be his Master's padawan.
Eris Vanserra who gently cradles you in his arms when days get too hard and the months draw too long, thumb gently tracing circles right where your shoulder meets your arm.
An Eris that is obsessed with you hips, cradling them in his hands while you get ready and resting his head on your shoulder.
Eris who adores when you call him sickly sweet pet names like baby, honey or even sugar. It reminds him that he is no longer under the abusive strenuous reign of his father, and safe with the love of his life.
He adores any body fat, stretch marks or other "imperfections", they ground Eris, and remind him he is different than his father, that if he was a lesser male like his father, he would have been disgusted with them.
Also, they are the only scars on ones body that you don't get from pain. Just change. And here of late, he finds change to be beautiful.
Eris that watches you get ready with an adoring look on his face, eyes darting around, curious about what his mate does to make them so perfect. (he never finds out, just concludes you are Mother-sent.)
You often find Eris with his hounds, either out in the forest, or his favorite resting her head on his lap as he does High Lord work.
Eris who prefers intimate sex, Eris that grips the soft flesh of your waist and watches your face contort to pleasure as he thrusts into you.
Eris that groans every time he moves into you, inhaling the delicious scent of your arousal, knowing he was the male that caused it
a/n - I'm too horny to live in Prythian. I would get knocked up so quick.
Even if his big brother instincts tell him to, Sonic can’t make the “oh I actually found you in a dumpster as a baby” joke to Tails cause that isn’t that far from how they met.
Initially, Wayne doesn’t care for Steve. Calls him “the Harrington boy” or “Richard’s son” with contempt, asks if “Richard’s son” is coming over for dinner again and Eddie just rolls his eyes and says “yes, Wayne, STEVE is coming over at 7.” Wayne doesn’t like him because…well, he’s not stupid to judge a book by its cover, he thinks.
But the fifth time Harrington comes over, he brings a bouquet of flowers, and Eddie, well, his cheeks are redder than the spaghetti sauce Wayne’s been stirring, so that’s something.
And then the sixth time Steve comes over, he brings Wayne a Garfield magnet. It’s small, “found it at the thrifty mart with Robin, I’m sorry it’s not brand new…” Steve mumbles, and Eddie is wide eyed and smiling, and Wayne LOVES Garfield. He puts it on the fridge, pats Steve on the back, says “um, thank you son.”
They fall into a pattern, the three of them. Steve comes over for dinner every Friday night after work. He dresses clean and is polite to Wayne, helps with the dishes, sometimes brings bread rolls or licorice or beer or jokes. Eddie starts setting the table. Wayne starts laughing at the jokes. After Steve leaves, Wayne knows Eddie smiles himself to sleep. It’s different, now.
And then the next time Steve is supposed to come over for dinner, he doesn’t show. Eddie had been making macaroni and cheese all evening, grating the cheese carefully as he bopped his head to some metal song, cheerful, and then it was 7 and then it was 8 and then Wayne thought “maybe call him, Ed.”
Nobody answers. When they call again, nobody answers. And Wayne has a bad feeling about it.
It isn’t until almost 11, dinner cold and Eddie pacing, about to radio someone named Robin when Steve’s car pulls up, they know the lights so well. They run outside to greet him and Eddie freezes when Steve starts falling out of the drivers seat, face dark and pained. Wayne jumps into action. Wayne catches Steve and hauls him into the trailer, his living room, and oh god, he’s covered in bruises like he was put through Eddie’s cheese grater, and oh god, Eddie’s broken out into tears behind him.
Steve’s left eye is swollen shut, and his face is purple and bloody. His lip is split and his hair is wild, his shirt is torn, and Wayne wonders what’s underneath the shirt as he gets the first aid kit, wonders how the hell he thought Steven was anything other than an angel.
Eddie gets a dish towel wet in the kitchen and cleans Steve’s face, quiet and crying, and Wayne sets the first aid kit down next to Eddie and makes some coffee. He thinks about talking, doesn’t. Touches the Garfield magnet for good luck. He feels like maybe Steve needs it.
Steve who is holding Eddie’s wrist as he cleans him up, wincing and crying from his good eye. Finally, after a silence that gives Wayne heartburn, Eddie sits back on his heels and says whisper quiet, “your dad?”
Steve gulps, blinks. “My uh, my dad. I was writing you uh, uh a love note.” Eddie looks over at Wayne. Wayne wipes his brow. “But uh, he found it, and your name’s not uh, Edith” Steve lets out a chuff, winces again. “So he asked what was going on, and I told him. I told him. And then he said I had one minute to take it back or he’d make me take it back.” Eddie lets out a small gasp, more like a howl, and sits completely on the floor. Wayne sits down at the table, cold mac and cheese looking like a sick joke. And he’s so mad. Wayne is so, so mad, seeing this young man who so obviously loves his pride and joy, shares in his pride and joy, who brings him apples to make apple pie, he growls out
“Don’t you worry about a thing, Steven, not one thing. You stay here long as you like, hell, don’t leave. We got you, boy.”
And that’s that. Steve crumples in on himself, and Eddie pulls him into a big hug, just holds him, rocks him, coos “a love note, huh, sweetheart? For me?” And Steve nods until he nods off.
The next morning, while Robin takes care of Steve, Wayne and Eddie break into Steve’s room, clear out everything he owns, and slash his dad’s tires. That was Wayne’s idea - the least he could do for a loved one.
"Stillborn? No, still born" Danyal au -- VLAD MASTERS THE BITCH HIMSELF
*Points at Vlad* THIS MFER GOT SOME TEEFS TO HIM. !! Okay okay, Vlad Masters in the stillborn au is different compared to most of my other aus in the fact that I am far more heavily leaning into his original ambitions of wanting a family and being desperately lonely. Because you know what wanting a family implies? Wanting to be a parent.
Fucked up father figure that could've been Vlad. Complicated love-hate relationship between the only two halfas in existence.
Danny hates Vlad, but he hates even more that he's genuinely considered his offers of mentorship. Vlad is the only halfa around, and they both have fire cores. Danny has these powers he doesn't understand, can barely comprehend some days, and can't control. But Vlad does. Vlad can. And Vlad wants to help him. He's the only other person who can get close whenever Danny runs too hot. Whenever his igneous hair cracks, splits, and spits back out into magma and his friends can't get close, Vlad can.
His hair is made of magma, which runs so hot that people need specialized suits in order to get near it. He physically cannot get close to the living as a ghost unless he's calm enough for his hair to cool into igneous rock. Which isn't as often as he would like. And sometimes he's too hot for other ghosts to get near unless they have fire cores -- which Vlad has.
There have been many times when Danny's having a meltdown (literally) and gone somewhere to be alone, to let his anger and hurt and loneliness overflow and spill out, that when he's come back to, Vlad's right there with him as an anchor. It's desperately frustrating, it's the only time they can get along. They don't say anything, Danny just turns and clings onto the only person he can touch as a ghost.
Its not fair. Vlad wants to kill his foster dad, and Danny can't let him do that. But he wants to be trained by the man, he wants his help and wants what he can offer. But Vlad can't step away from his revenge long enough to let him. It's just not fair. He thinks for a moment that maybe it could work, and then Vlad does something to remind him that no, it can't.
Vlad Masters sees too much of himself in Daniel Brown -- from the way he holds himself, to the defenses he puts up, his quiet anger that builds and builds and builds until it explodes. That simmers beneath his skin. All the way down to the fact that they have matching cores. This boy is cut from the same cloth as him, and by god does he want to help him. He's always wanted to be a father, and Daniel Brown is too much like him for him to ignore. He genuinely, truly cares about Danny and his wellbeing.
He wants to help him, child just let him help you. Let him kill your foster dad so he can adopt you himself and help with these powers that terrify and intrigue you -- he knows what that's like to have something that you can't control, to have a heat that you can't cool down from. "We're in the same boat you and I, let him help you please."
But his methods are all wrong, and Danny is too much like him -- stubbornness and all -- for him to agree when they oppose each other so greatly. But again, Danny is much like him -- which means that Vlad is equally stubborn, and in every single one of their fights he's parental. He's annoyingly parental. He drops his interest in Maddie to focus his efforts in trying to coax Danny onto his side. It's like trying to get a traumatized cat to trust you, and on some levels it works. It's like he makes some progress, and then moves too quickly and the cat immediately runs off and you have to start back from square one.
TL:DR; Vlad and Danny both want to find family in each other but they're too different to get along and ultimately they are doomed by the narrative to be at constant odds with one another unless one of them is changes, and it doesn't matter who.
even after all this time, chifuyu still gets all weak in the knees when you kiss him.
imagine this: you're on your way to the pet store where you and chifuyu work. as chifuyu parks the car, he turns to you with a smile and says, "stay here, i'll open your door."
just as he's about to step out, you grab his arm, making him turn back to you. you smile, gently grasp his chin, and pull him closer. your lips meet his in a soft, lingering kiss.
chifuyu melts, his eyes slowly fluttering closed until you pull away with a smile. he gazes at you with a lovestruck expression.
"baby, you can't do that," he says, breathless. you tilt your head in confusion, "what do you mean?"
"i just kissed you," you say, blinking, then sigh in realization.
he shakes his head, "no, no. my wife kissed me. there's a difference."
"how is that different?" you ask, raising an eyebrow.
he pouts, as if it's the most obvious thing in the world. "you're amazing, perfect, everything i've ever wanted. and you're my wife!" you deadpan, "i've been your wife for three years."
he grins, "the best three years of my life. but now, we have a problem."
you stare at him before saying, "chifuyu matsuno, kazutora is waiting for us inside the store right now."
chifuyu is still staring at you, looking like he's about to pounce. "he can wait," he insists.
you sigh, shaking your head. "you are insatiable, my dear husband." he's already climbing to the back seat, fumbling with his belt.
"i am but a simple man, with a perfect wife," he grins, helping you to the back seat. he settles you on his lap before pulling you close for another kiss.
