I have heard the voice of Poseidon in the sound of the crashing waves breaking on shore. And when I am away from water his voice is heard in my long drawing breaths, like rolling gentle waves on sand.

"Don't worry kid, you're dad had plenty of kids he stopped helping out when he lost interest"
Theseus, who was helped by poseidon multiple times, but in the end was thrown off a cliff by the citizens of Athens and drowned. Drowned in the ocean, the very domain of his father.
Kymopoleia, who was neglected by Poseidon once he found her to be too violent, left to wander his abandoned palaces, given up as a war prize to man she didn't even want with no choice at all.
Bellerophon, who was given the pegasus to tame as a gift from Poseidon in some myths, dying by falling off of it on his way to Olympus.
I'm just saying, that line wasn't a random throwaway line by Ares, he means it.

One day. One day when he's ready. When he knows who he is, and where he belongs. And fate has revealed to him his true path. On that day, I'll be right by his side.

I SURRENDER. I SURRENDER. I SURRENDER. I SURRENDER. I SURRENDER. I FREAKING SURRENDER. HE SURRENDERED??????
HE SURRENDERED??????????????
THIS!!!!!
This is why they changed the timeline. This is why Percy “failed” the quest. It was to give us the opportunity to see Poseidon choose Percy over choosing his pride. And from the tiny scene we’ve seen of him before this, we knew he would. We knew that Percy mattered more because we saw Poseidon pained and scared and regretful to be apart from his family.
They are defining the gods differently. It’s about Pride, and it’s about Love, and it’s about Family. It’s about “some of us don’t want to be like that either.”
And Poseidon SURRENDERED for his son. Because Zeus was going to continue a war for his pride. And he was going to kill Percy for his pride. And he would have ignored Kronos, too. But there are more important things to Poseidon, and we’ve been able to piece that together throughout this season.
I also like that Percy and Poseidon are basically wearing the same outfit.
And it doesn’t hurt that Toby Stephens (Poseidon’s actor) basically runs the master class for playing the saddest men alive.
Edit: I was going insane so I made a gif about it to add to the post, please enjoy

Orphic Hymn to Poseidon
“Hearken, dark-maned Poseidon, holder of the earth, equestrian; carved in bronze is the trident in your hand, and you dwell in the foundations of the full-bosomed sea. Deep-roaring ruler of the sea and shaker of the earth, your blossoms are waves, O gracious one, as you urge horses and chariots on, rushing on the sea and splashing through the rippling brine. To your lot fell the third portion, the unfathomable sea, and you delight in waves and in their wild dwellers, O spirit of the deep. Save the foundations of the earth and ships moving at full tilt, and bring peace, health, and blameless prosperity.”

I desperately hope they keep the detail of sally selling Gabe’s statue because there is something so hilarious about that woman opening her front door, seeing that her ex-husband has been Medusa-ed, and going “you know I think he’d look nice at an art gallery”
It’d also be one hell of a divorce settlement and that’s what she deserves

i have a thought about pjo that i can't quite articulate but it goes along the lines of:
athena gave annabeth as a gift to frederick because she liked his search for knowledge. in athena's eyes, any action of annabeth's reflects herself, which is why annabeth 'embarrassing' her had such strong consequences
poseidon fell in love with impertinent, stubborn sally jackson. percy wasn't a gift to her - he is a cumulation of all of her stubborn, steadfast love.
why wouldn't poseidon still love and aid percy when all of percy's insolence is why he loved sally in the first place?

Thinking about how children of Poseidon will always be stronger, have more range than any other big three child.
Like Zeus's domain is mainly in the sky. He's about order. Law. Lightning. Wind. He gets storms as a side product of lightning and wind. But he has control over those; he can make them gentle just as he can make them destructive.
Hades is the dead. His domain is over souls, over the minerals and riches and the fallen mortals, monsters and everything that lies in rest in the earth. He's all about justice for the dead. He doesn't show off his power nearly as much as his brothers because he's more of a judge and overseer than a raging, wrathful god.
But Poseidon? Yes, his domain is the sea but he is so much more. He is also the storm bringer and the earthshaker. He has chaotic power over his brother's primary domains. You'd think that Zeus would be the storm bringer cause he has lightning? No. It's Poseidon. You'd think that Hades would be the earthshaker because the depth of the earth and the underworld is his domain. No. Its Poseidon. And those particular powers that Poseidon has in his brother's domains are not neutral or calm. They are powers of destruction and deadly force. It is not in a storm's nature to be gentle, nor is it in a earthquakes nature to be gentle. Poseidon's powers are predisposed to chaos. (Chaos, the strongest and first of the primordial gods).
And then on top of that, Poseidon has domain over the sea. The sea, which we know even less than our own solar system. Everything from the depth of the sea to the shallow waters. The waves, the creatures within, the monsters within. They're all Poseidon's.
What did Percy say in tlo again? "Kronos knows Poseidon can tip the scales against Typhon?"
Not Zeus, not Hades, not any of the other Olympians or gods. Poseidon.
Yeah.
Poseidon is the strongest Olympian god, and Percy is the strongest demigod and it's not even close.
