Can I just say how in love I am with the way you draw Marika? Like every art you post of her has my jaw dropping…you add such a beautiful layer of humanity to her with her dynamic expressions and poses—it’s so refreshing to see especially when so many fan arts of her needlessly sexualize her or dial her down to a one-dimensional stone-faced villain (which a villain she is—but she is still complex)

i've been letting this ask stewing in my inbox for a while because it makes me so emotional 🥲

if you look at how i drew Marika before anything in the DLC was announced, it did fall into the two categories you were talking about, because despite having a little more positive view on her than the rest of the fandom at the time, i still had no idea who she was as a person. and by that time i were more interested in Malenia, so even though i did try to envision how Marika was, it's a very distant and vague image. which is what i love about Elden Ring lore in general: we see Marika via how her children see her.

it was easy back then to conclude we'd never get her, and "mother" is a distant term that will always be overshadowed by "God", so i just went along with the general haha evil sexy girlboss thing that the fandom was doing. but then the DLC teaser dropped the another elusive (possibly firstborn) child of her, with a statue of her holding a baby in his boss room, she started to get more little quirks that's so human in my work (the small smile, the little lock of hair that curls gently) because for the first time, we see her through the eye of a son that evidently adores her, so she gets a bit more human, because someone views her with emotions that are not fear nor distance.

then the DLC drops, and it's not just through Messmer's eye (or the entirety of his being that carry so much of her love it weighs him down and twist into the most horrible curse in the end), it's through the eyes of her family that were no longer there at all. it's the jar innard enemy that huddled in a jar and clutched at a piece of raw meat, it's the Grandmother's gentle smile as she rest among a sea of flowers, it's the solitary minor erdtree that bathed the whole place in the kindness of gold, it's the Fire Knights and soldiers that clearly viewed her as Mother as much as she was God, it's Miquella throwing away his love and doubt because he didn't know how to deal with the revelation that his mother was once a fallible human just like the rest of them, it's Trina's entreaty that Godhood was just a cage that would kill him slowly, it's the final boss music with the female voice belting "Hail, Marika the Eternal" - in the place where she had to wade through a sea of flesh and blood, her family included, to ascend to Godhood. it's finally understanding that to her, Eternity is to live for all her loved ones that have fallen down.

and somehow, it all comes back to this portrait at the base game, right at the Roundtable Hold, of a woman with permanently lowered eyes.

yeah i know after the DLC i've put on such a Messmer-style protective glasses for her, it shows very clearly in my art. now she could cry, looks sad, small smile, big smile, looks silly, looks cute, looks serious, her hair is pulled up in twenty different ways, she jokes and talks to animals and goes back to be just a simple young girl rolling around in the grass, blah blah... im drawing all these with eyes wide open. and i have no intention of stopping lol.

ACT 6/TWO HATS

God I love how much Loop tries to hate Siffrin but deep down really just can’t bring themselves to commit to it. Like they start off as being intentionally annoying because “look this idiot got stuck in a timeloop! How embarrassing! He wants to stay with his friends but can’t bring themselves to actually talk about it! COULDN’T BE ME” and they empathize with Sif because yeah no shit they went through it too. They actually want them to break free of the loops because what they are going through is horrible and so so painful that it hurts to watch.

They give actual genuine advice (hidden behind alot of teehee’s) and talk through Sif’s ideas and theories. They are always there waiting for Sif to come back and try to work out the next thing they should be doing. And, in my opinion, I think they enjoy it. They went through their own timeloop hell and they finally have someone who understands and can talk to about it. Sure that person is you who made the same blinding mistake and is making it worse and you can’t help to make fun of them because its like the you from your most embarrassing moment that lives rent free in your head is right in front of you and you get to be like “hey man what were you thinking? That was really stupid what you did oh my god.”

But I can only imagine how that “haha ur dumb but im here to talk” energy gives way to actual spite and jealousy as Siffrin gets farther than Loop. They killed the king, Loop never could. They find out more about wish craft, Loop never got that opportunity. They can read their native language and speak it again, Loop is still stuck with headaches and fleeting memories. And worst of all? They won. They get to live their lives with their family. They made it through hell and won. The King is defeated,their family is with them promising to stay together and keep adventuring together seeing all these wonderful places and things. And Loop never will. Loop lost their family. They lost them because of their wish. A wish they couldn’t handle. Their family THEIR family is gone forever. The only one who can remember them is stuck with copies that see them as a stranger. And the only way to get them back? To even HOPE to have a chance at being by their side? To kill the better version of you. To murder the one who the Universe loves more. To kill the person who stole your happy ending and family. The person who struggled the same as you. Who came to you whenever they needed help, because they trusted you. The person who came so SO close to failing just like you, but you saved them because you know how much it hurts. The person who you wanted to succeed. The person who you can’t kill no matter how badly you want to.

If you lose to Loop in their fight. They won’t kill Siffrin. They can’t. Not after all of the pain the two of them went through. Not after they have a chance of being happy. Loop just can’t do it because they feel that they don’t deserve it. For all their talk of Siffrin needing to work things out with their family, Loop can’t do the same. They can’t look them in the eye and tell them they are Siffrin, they tried so so hard but couldn’t do it and left them all behind. In their eyes, why should they get a happy ending? They doomed an entire reality, their family and left them behind. They can’t take Siff’s place because they know Siff deserves it. Because they won. They made it. They earned their happy ending.

absolutely absolutely she is the type to spoil the kids. with candy and sweets and late bedtimes she just cannot say no to them ever she is far too fond. and yes she would read to them. she picks out book she especially likes, or ones that she enjoyed as a kid, and totally not as an excuse to talk about these characters she loves so much nooo-

(as long as the books are. age appropriate ofc. not too scary for the youngins,,)

on top of that she would be very easy to talk to! isa and sif do make sure to always be emotionally open with their kids, would never want them to feel like they cant talk about something, but even then. sometimes its nice to have someone else to depend on. just in case. and mira loves to chat with em :)

odile cares for these kids oooh so so so much. she would never admit it but, much like the rest of her family, she would do horrible horrible things to make them happy. even if she. isnt the best with kids. in general. shes trying her best and the kids definitely thinking her dry humour and sarcastic bluntness is funny as hell

also she is 100% the embarrassing stories one. the kids ask her for the same silly story about their parents again and again eeevery time she visits. they never get tired of it and neither does she. (sif and isa certainly do though fjnf)

doing some very basic math bonnie would be arounnd their? early or mid twenties when the kids are. “born”. (wished into existence). which makes me honestly so depressed and sad to thinking about ohmy god theyre growing up i might die

i think they would bond very easily with the kids though! would enjoy getting to show and teach them things- things that make themself happy like cooking etc. i do think as well bon would be trying very hard, maybe a little too hard, to appear cool and chill around them. so that they respect them. All the talk of Johnny with a tug of war rope has got me thinking about those videos of people playing tug with smaller dogs and just fully lifting them off the ground.

Smaller/shorter reader gets absolutely fed up with Johnny trying to get them to play and kinda snaps. Fine, you want me to play with this toy so bad? My toy now. No you cannot have it back. No actually you cannot touch it, period, I don't care how much you snarl at me. (Johnny isn't angry at all, but if pretending to be mad gets reader to play longer, then call him Oscar-nominated actor John MacTavish.) Ghost comes home to see Johnny and reader both white-knuckling the tug rope and reader's feet are a full foot off the ground.

Alternately, Ghost tries to take a toy away from Johnny but Johnny is being a real brat about it so Ghost just yoinks him up and shakes him until he loses his hold.

i love the way you describe reader here - just finally giving in and playing along with johnny and immediately being just the brattiest little thing you've ever seen in your life. oh my god. she's horrible. johnny doesn't even care as long as you play with him though <3

i really love the idea of johnny overacting all of his reactions because it works you up more. like, you're trying to get on his nerves and he loves it but you'll stop playing if you know he loves it, so he just totally plays up his "anger" and acts comically pissed off. he has the time of his life, and you get to think you're actually starting to get to him. win-win

i think johnny and simon both love to manhandle you but in different ways. simon likes to emphasize his size so he's constantly grabbing you, covering your body with his, stuff like that. but johnny really gets off on how much power he has over you and how you're basically a toy for him if he wants you to be, so he's always pushing and prodding you, doing whatever he wants.

so johnny would absolutely yank you straight off the ground. he'll tug you around a few times, spin in a big circle maybe, and when he sees how determined you are to not give up the toy now that you've decided it's yours, he just lifts straight up. goddamn muscular man, hours and hours of working out just so he can hold you in the air by one arm

and he is just delighted when you hold on!!! almost forgets to stop acting angry about it so you don't let go. he ends up doing this weird mix of pretending to be pissed off while also mocking you and having fun. he'll totally swing his arm back and forth a little just to watch you sway, laughs when you curl your legs up beneath you

ghost walks in, takes one look at johnny's feral expression and your frustration as you dangle in the air, and just sighs. the things he has to deal with. he lets the two of you keep playing as long as neither of you get too worked up though <3

also ohhhhh my god so obsessed with ghost manhandling johnny, you have no idea

picturing johnny being a needy little brat, begging and begging and begging endlessly for ghost to play with him even though he's clearly busy. finally ghost grabs the other end of the rope and tugs so hard that johnny nearly goes flying, left tumbling ass over tea kettle as ghost lets go and just watches him fall

johnny's got a good hold of the rope in his teeth so ghost just yanks up, holds johnny's head at a very uncomfortable angle and shakes him off :/ scoffs and rolls his eyes at the growls vibrating through the rope, jerks it in the air even harder until he finally falls on his ass

rant about Gabriel to me I need to understand him

im going to format this like you've never seen the show, just in case you haven't, so if you have just bare with me

gabriel is a bit of an enigma. for the first two and a half episodes he shows up in, he's not even known as gabriel. he's on screen as 'the trickster' and is masquerading as one. (tricksters in spn canon are powerful demigod creatures of myth that can alter reality how they want, normally using their powers to play deadly pranks on malicious humans in ironic ways. i.e mauling someone who tests products on animals via a sewer alligator)

the reason he's doing this as a self proclaimed "witness protection" method is because he's in hiding, pretending to be a trickster to hide from his family; which is heaven since he's the archangel gabriel. surprise surprise. this is revealed in the episode 'changing channels', (season four) which is i believe the best ranked episode on the entire show by the audience and one of my favorites. 'mystery spot' (season three) is another one he stars in (as rhe trickster, not gabriel. we still dont know that), and i think it's the second highest ranked. and 'tall tales' (season two) is the first one he shows up in which is also very highly ranked.

gabriel has a habit of faking his death a lot to escape responsibility, which he does in the episode 'hammer of the gods' (season five [?] i think) after being "stabbed" by lucifer so he doesn't have to really stick around and watch his family (lucifer and michael) fight. but we don't know that it was a fake out for nearly eight seasons. (there is an instance where he shows up again in season nine but that was a fake out and not the real him). in 'hammer of the gods' we also find out that gabriel really had gone all in with his so called witness protection while pretending to be a trickster; so much so that most of the mythological world/pretty much anyone but cas sam and dean knows him as the actual god of tricksters, loki, and not by his true name. later on when he comes back in season thirteen we find out that's because the real loki offered to share the same face with gabriel back when he first came to earth wayyyyyyy long ago to help him out. and when we meet loki later when gabriels trying to kill him for selling him off to one of the princes of hell asmodeus (i'll get into that) it's basically just the actor richard speight jr playing two roles at once. if that makes any sense. one of my favorite episodes, although i think that's just because i hadn't really seen gabriel in months and was over excited. i'll have to see if the hype holds up on my rewatch

but okay, for some backstory on the whole being sold thing, after gabriel faked his death in 'hammer of the gods', he ran off to some island to get in contact with loki and his kids (think fenrir. spn uses real mythological names and bloodlines as side plots sometimes) to go dark again. loki pretends to entertain the idea and let's gabriel play poker with hookers for a few days (gabe has also stared in a porno before and enjoys eating candy even though angels never get hungry. he's fun that way) before betraying him and basically selling him off as a slave to a prince of hell, who locks him away for hundered (thousands maybe?) of years, constantly draining his archangel grace just enough to not leave gabe powerless, but also enough to torture him horribly. it's awful, and all explained in the episode 'unfinished buisness' (season thirteen) which is all about him enacting revenge on loki and the tricksters kids. but the takeaway is that the first time we see gabe after season five, he's a completely different person. almost like a scared animal. if the animal has had its mouth sewn shut by a demon, that is.

anyways, sam and dean and cas help revert him back to his usual self, and he runs away from his problems for a few episodes, before finally confronting them and dying for real this time at the hands of an alertnate world version of his brother michael a few episodes later. the later seasons writing was so fucked up in my opinion, and the way gabriel died was done so wrong, but i think that's because im biased. frowns

my explination of him does no justice. he's a smug, silly, tricky, multi layered, funny son of a bitch that has fuck ass smile where his eyes crinkled at the corner and i. oughhh. i love him. urgh. yeah

Cphilza viewing him as a child because he is not human like him. Forcing people to believe that he is not just something comforting he is dangerous see what he can do. Clinging to positions of power cause then he’s not treated like a toy but that’s what he is isnt it? Feeling too utterly fragile and just plain useless. Having coarse stuffing and messy stitches after revival that he constantly tries to rip out and fix. One day Ranboo finds him by the van almost completely limp because he went too far.

The fabric of Ghostbur’s hands being completely stained with blue dye. Cquackity could come up with some really good insults about Wilbur being a plushie. BTW i have no idea how more complex moments would work with this hc but uhm. Its just fun to think about

Finishing this off with ccrime. cTommy hugging him so hard he would’ve cracked the ribs of any human. He helps c!wilbur mend himself with fun patches he makes. Ctommy treating cwilbur as his childhood stuffie, it doesnt bring you the same fuzzy feeling but you can’t ever get rid of it. Lover of the unlovable or something. Cwilbur only feeling actually respected by his brother, even with his horribly abnormal anatomy. im okay

On the subject of humanformers content, I think my hottest take for the transformers community as a whole (that I can think of) is that I… I really don’t think the fanon long braid hairstyle suits ratchet. I KNOW ITS PRETTY IM SORRY BUT HE JUST DOESNT SEEM LIKE THE TYPE TO BRAID HIS HAIR OR GROW IT LONG TO BEGIN WITH.

Ok so theres two particular cases I wanna talk about with this, cuz I think it’s popular enough that’s it’s spread to pretty much every continuity. First I’d like to make an exception- I’m willing to believe MTMTE ratchet wears his hair long or at least longer than most continuities. I’m also willing to believe, nay, INSIST that drift braids it all pretty like and ratchet lets him. This is the one exception I can think of.

Second of all, I need to address TFP ratchet, considering I’m pretty sure this is where that design came from in the first place, and is certainly where it’s the most popular. Ironically, this is the version of him I can LEAST imagine ever putting in the effort for a braid.

Listen okay, that man is STARVING himself due to lack of energon + being focused on the rest of the team, and is basically never seen not working on something. I guarantee you if he were human he wouldn’t have these luscious, flowing, L’Oreal commercial locks in a nice little French/dutch braid. I know y’all love pretty ratchet but I think we need to accept that he’s horrible at self care and would have rough cropped hair and a scruffy short beard or stubble, that man is having a ROUGH time and he ain’t got time for braids or even brushing long ass hair. Not to mention he doesn’t want it getting caught on anything in his lab or god forbid the battlefield.

You stumble out of the facility with the vague understanding that you want to leave. You can't quite remember why, you can't quite remember what you had before the facility, and you can't quite remember what's so bad about the place... but something in you is screaming at you to run.

So you run.

Even as the evening air clears your head, the memories don't come back to you. You have no concept of life before being a pet, outside of a few flashes of faces you think you might've known at one point and places you might've frequented. It's not a lot, not even enough to convince you they aren't dreams that lodged in your head for a little too long.

Maybe this is a mistake, honestly. You're basing your entire escape on these flashes, and a weird gut feeling. Now you're on the run from the Pet Protection Agency, and you have zero idea how to survive as a stray. It'd be so much easier to turn back around and give yourself up... but god, this nagging feeling in the back of your mind just won't leave you alone. You have to keep running.

Days pass, and you learn what kinds of food in the dumpster are still fit for consumption. Weeks pass, and you learn how to seem semi-normal. How to blend in and pretend you're a person. Months pass, and you're starting to run out of stamina. Of drive. Of motivation. It's getting colder, too. You're thinking of turning yourself in again.

You don't even make an effort anymore. You stay in the same alleyway, go through the same dumpster... Sometimes you venture a bit further out, but at this point, you're entirely over it. If the PPA's people find you, so be it. Being a stray is miserable.

But one day, a small offering appears on the ground. It's a little plastic bowl with some kind of paste in it. It smells... suspicious. It's definitely not for you– no, that's not true. It's definitely for you, but it's clear that the person who left it doesn't... know who you are. What you are.

You crawl a bit closer, your stomach rumbling loudly. Maybe just a scoop. A bite. Maybe it's not that bad. Maybe eating cat food is fine, under certain circumstances. Maybe you can trick yourself into liking it, even.

Well... as soon as you try it, you realise that won't be happening. But food is food, and you're desperate. You can only hope it won't poison you.

The empty bowls disappear every morning, and a full one appears every evening. The routine soothes you somewhat. Of course it does, you're just a pet, and pets need routine — another reason why it was utterly stupid to run and throw yourself into a life of uncertainty. But in an odd turn of events, you accidentally found someone who seems to care, and that's comforting.

One evening, while you're furiously rubbing your hands together to create some semblance of warmth, you hear the stranger enter the alley. You hear the telltale scratch of the bowl against the ground as they set it down, and your mouth waters despite knowing how gross the food is. But you don't hear them leaving.

"Here, love. I've brought you some food," they — he? — say softly, and you realise your mysterious patron saint is planning on staying this time. He wants to see where his food is going, clearly. An infinite number of options and fears run through your head all at once.

What if he's with the PPA? What if this has all been a setup? What if he's going to be angry about you not being a sweet little animal? What if he's a horrible person who's just playing you? What if– what if–

watched a compilation of all the (canon) egg deaths throughout the server's lifetime and I got some thoughts

(cw - lots of death, lots of pain, if you watched this server you know what to expect but be warned anyway)

- fit's reaction to ramón's loss of his first life is so interesting - no reaction from him or phil that an egg had just gone down in the in-game chat. crazy concept compared to the rest of the future of the smp

- juana and tilin's deaths are so sad and accidental that it's kinda funny. Charlie and Mari just clearly have no idea the risky shit they're pulling (COZ HOW COULD THEY???). man, thank god for etoiles figuring out the sword bug

- foolish just stepping out and coming back to a whale'd leo - the poor doozers who tried to get his attention through donos

- poor fucking roier man. that man just went through it. the reaction of the rest of the server when Bobby went down... bruh the suppressed memories of egg trauma are resurfacing...

- i forgot the bulls were such a fucking problem at one point, hit one and they all come to beat your ass.

- i was there for only some of the egg deaths in the actual streams but i remember tallulah's one from the code monster and phil so fucking clearly. the code was soooooo fucking intent on killing her that day, it took so long and it was so frustrating when it finally succeeded. (AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA)

- on that note - every single one of these are so not fun coz the qsmp perfected a level of story and character with the eggs where no one is really being a character or doing much acting. The Nightmare, the event that made the server remove a enemy mob mod for a while coz it was just too op compared to the players, just real fun memories of phil taking a boat back to the beach where it happened and debating on whether he's gonna straight up leave the server if chay is gone.

oh, and the Brazilians just blowing up on Vegetta's mines all the way through their first day, leading to richas just getting a redo of his lives lmao

The wind loved Fyodor; it clung to him, it's scent on his skin, sending his cape flying open behind him until it looked like he might fly away. He didn't have to try to look dangerous; a deadly appearance was innate, bespoke to him. And with the rising moon's white face showing through the decaying walls and open rafters, the wind running through the once grand place, his sighs felt like a great, volatile beast. Dazai was wary of letting his eyes leave the madman; at any other time, even he wouldn't enjoy letting him leave his sight. That was, if there wasn't another force, another being, perhaps just as deadly and only half as restrained.

The wind loved Fyodor. In the same way, it adored you.

Your legs hung down from where you sat, perched lightly on a rafter, sitting so prettily while you stared disdainfully down towards the two men. Quite a scene, really, a priest of destruction and a devotee to chaos; though the black wings sitting around your shoulders made you less of a worshiping devotee and more a vengeful god the more Dazai looked at you.

"I see you've spotted my dearest companion," Fyodor purred. "Quite a stunning thing, aren't they- that perfect mix of beautiful and deadly."

"You always did have an eye for beautiful things," Dazai replied. His eyes were still firmly on you, his relaxed expression not doing much to hide the set of his jaw or the way every flicker of movement in your body drew his attention. For your part, you didn't look away either- your gaze felt like a blade dragging over his skin, ready to draw blood if you so chose to.

"As did you; that at least I respect about you. However I must advise you not to get attached in any way. They do very much belong to me."

Dazai chuckled. "So you've found yourself a pretty songbird, then? How sweet."

Your laugh cut off any words either men could further utter. "How rich," you sighed gleefully. Standing, you swung yourself around a beam before letting go, your body dropping like a black comet before your wings stopped your fall. "The very notion alone is more than amusing." Your smile was unnervingly polite, like the three of you were chatting in a cafe and not very ready to kill each other. "However," you continued, stepping smoothly towards the two men, "I think you'll find he belongs to me just as much as I do him."

And the horrible thing was, Dazai could see it was true. Fyodor respected your power, that much was clear; you stood at his side, not behind him, but as an equal. But he also picked up on something much more subtle: the way Fydor's gaze softened the smallest amount when you crossed in front of him, the familiar way with which you spoke of one another.

This was no simple alliance of power; the two of you loved each other in some strange twisted way.

"You know," you murmured, stepping closer to Dazai, "I am well aware he has no need of another's protection. He wouldn't have come so far had he needed anyone. But," you paused, tracing a knife tipped nail gently around the dip of his throat, "rest assured if you dare try and lay a hand on him, there is nowhere you will be safe from me."

"I think you'll find I'm not someone who is easily frightened by idle threats," Dazai growled.

"Oh but that's just it," Fyodor chuckled lowly as you returned to his side. "They aren't idle at all. Unlike me, you haven't seen just how well the color of blood decorates them so nicely. Truly a wonderful sight."

Dazai scoffed and ran a hand through his unruly hair. "You're fucking insane, both of you. You deserve each other."

"Perhaps," you replied. "But insanity and passion go well together.

That's why you haven't laid a hand on either of us!" Your cheerful smile chilled him, Fyodor's hand on the small of your back giving the two of you an eerily domestic look.

"You won't touch us because even you know nothing begets power quite like obsession."
