Oh god, reading the previous anon's ask makes me think of how stressed Homelander's partner would be around his birthday. I mean, what do you get a man who literally can have it all? I feel like he wouldn't exactly hide his feelings very well if he really disliked the gift either. In your opinion, what kind of gift do you think Homelander would enjoy the most?

anything heartfelt, honestly. you're right, there's nothing he couldn't buy himself, but a thoughtful gift from someone who loves him? that's priceless.

you could bake him a very special cake, or even some Christmas cookies! you could also gift him a framed photo of the two of you two together.

the monetary value obviously isn't going to matter to Homelander. what will matter to him is the effort put into it, and why you got it for him. what made you think of him, and the inherent love that comes with that.

sure, he could buy himself an ornament for his desk, but it's not the same as you gifting him one because it reminded you of your trip together. you can buy him noise cancelling earbuds to wear because you know he can be prone to overstimulation, and even though he knows they won't really work for him, he's touched because you care. you thought about his needs, how to take care of and protect him.

ultimately, Homelander loves love. he wants to feel it, be bathed in it, be adored. the point of the gift isn't to get him something material, it's to show him that he's thought of, wanted, and cared for.

I do think they were developing a mental illness, but i think it had more to do with the fact theyre constantly exposed to some of the worst shit night city has to offer, and have to kill people in more and more gruesome ways just to survive. Anyone would lose their minds if they were pressed right against the worst of night city the way they were

That's fair. There's no way anyone in Night City or the Cyberpunk setting doesn't have a slew of underlying mental issues and trauma.

In a way, the story of Edgerunners is how no one gets out of the cycle. At least not without taking major loses, like Lucy did. And David practically mirrored Maine's descent with both his behavior and his plunge into cyberpsychosis with more and more mods that made him into a hulk of a man.

But also, those very mods weren't vital to his health. They weren't life support systems, like a pacemaker or bionic lungs. His ripper doc even told him that he just had to downgrade into a more manageable number of cyberware while his symptoms were mild. Yet David made the conscious choice of not only keeping them, but adding more mods to himself, like an athlete increasing his protein powder and steroid dosage to keep running faster. Just like Maine, who in the end couldn't reach the end of the road and asked David to "keep running".

So I saw a few posts describing how the Pit’s in Jason’s body kinda acted on its own accord when spotting Danny “baby ghost” Phantom/Fenton and how they then co-parent with a half dead “baby” teenager.

But I raise YOU the idea that the Pits is already parenting Jason Todd.

When the Pits take over it’s the simple response of a Mama Bear going feral on some humans for making their little baby upset.

Jason disappointed by Batman?

The Pits snarl and rage at the man that made baby sad!

Jason disgusted at the idea of another Robin lined up for death?

The Pits howl and claw through the skin to fix the situation by beating the humans up so they can’t die!

Jason vulnerable and lost by the lack of acceptance in his return as Red Hood?

The Pits screech, biting furiously into the humans that had caused the baby to feel un-included in their games!
