cabin ten curse 👀

YEAHHH!!!!

The curse of Cabin Ten, as opposed to Cabin Seven, affects all of them. It was a curse inflicted by Nemesis when she got tired of Aphrodite flaunting her love life, how many people she'd gotten to fall in love with her, a trait her children shared, so she cursed the cabin.

In The Lost Hero, we learn about the Aphrodite Rite of Passage.

“The rite of passage for an Aphrodite child,” one explained. “You get someone to fall in love with you. Then you break their heart. Dump them. Once you do that, you’ve proven yourself worthy of Aphrodite.”

Playing on the Rite of Passage, if a child of Aphrodite has someone fall in love with them and then doesn't break their heart, that person will die.

Take Charles Beckendorf for example, we're told that Silena refused to complete the Rite of Passage.

“Forget it!” Piper yelled, a little louder than she’d intended. The other kids backed away. “I’m not breaking somebody’s heart just for a stupid rite of passage!” Which of course gave Drew a chance to take back control. “Well, there you go!” she cut in. “Silena said the same thing. She broke the tradition, fell in love with that Beckendorf boy, and stayed in love. If you ask me, that’s why things ended tragically for her.”

And Beckendorf died. So did Silena, but her death doesn't play into the curse.

We could also tie in Piper and Jason, although Jason died after Piper broke up with him. But the key part of their break up? Piper didn't break up with him for the Rite of Passage, therefore she never completed it.

Also, if a curse is cast a while ago, the exact way it affects the cabin may get lost in translation. In canon the Rite of Passage is to make someone fall in love with you and break their heart, but if we tie in Jason and Piper, we can twist the curse into having to break the heart of someone you've fallen in love with or else they die.

Silena was in love with Charles, she didn't break his heart, he died. Piper was in love with Jason, she didn't break up with him with the intention to break his heart, he died.

This could also explain why Drew is so adamant about her siblings completing the Rite of Passage, no? We don't know how long she's been at camp, but if shes the oldest after Silena we can figure shes been there a decent amount of time, watched sibling after sibling lose and grieve their partner because they didn't complete the passage.

 Y’know, I was thinking about like, before the Justice League forms in this au. 

Just slowly rotating Bruce meeting Clark and Diana before they start the league, maybe even help each other out. Need another heavy hitter? Time to call in Clark! Someone mind controls Superman again? Time to call Diana! Need information about some sort of artifact? Diana is there! Want weirdly specific information that no one should know or to get into a place they can’t? Time to call in Bruce! Need a distraction? Boy does Bruce have you covered! Need diplomacy because this alien AI is pissed? Diana pulls on her training as a princess, warrior or not. Need to seem harmless- why, there’s a sunshine alien sweetheart with the same vibes as an overgrown puppy ready to help! 

Honestly it’s a surprise no one has realized they know each other yet, but then again Bruce really embodies being a cryptid and just doesn’t sit still for any potential photos. Sure there are some with Wonder Woman and Superman visible with him hidden in the shadows, but no one outside of Gotham really knows about him. Like I am imagining their friendship being both “two extroverts adopt this introvert” and “we’re coaxing this stray cat with its dozen of kittens over no matter what”

Random Prompt idea;

Human Grace in 1981-1984 decides to take a look at what her ex is up to (while visiting Pongo) and finds out he not only built a robot with her face and name attached but that he also adopted seven kids he is mistreating and flips her shit.

Yelling at him until he signs over custody.

Yelling at Pongo "WHAT ARE YOU DOING ALLOWING THIS"

Looking at her robot self and telling her to pack her things because she's coming too.

Only for Robot Grace to be like "I am not programmed to leave."

Cue Pongo being forced to fix Robot Grace's programming so she can leave with the kids and human Grace.

Regained being Reginald tries buying/adopting more of the kids only for Human Grace to beat him to it (she doesn't get Sloane but she still ends up in the family because of Luther).

Cue Human Grace being the best mom, mother in law, grandma, and person ever.

And Reginald gets nothing because he deserves nothing.

celeste should be playing 15-20 minutes a night. maybe she should even be the 5th starter

Thought of writing a phoenix/dragon/human mlc au but decided not to because nothing would really change but. The metaphors Haunt Me. Because.

Li lianhua? Of course he's the phoenix, he lives and dies and lives and dies and lives and dies and it goes on forever. Of course he's the dragon, he was the number one in the jianghu and his story is about what happens as the hero falls into oblivion as their legend is being told. Of course he's the human, wouldn't his arrogance and hubris and steep fucking learning curve hurt all the more if he proved himself and found himself just as fragile as he was in the beginning.

Di feisheng? Of course he's the phoenix, his fire burns and burns and while most think of it as destructive few know of it as cleansing and life-bringing. Of course he's the dragon, he's the powerhouse of the jianghu and he will always be because strength is indomitable no matter its reputation or motive. Of course he's the human, wouldn't his determination to make a name for himself and his yearning for vengeance for his past trauma hurt all the more if he was the weakest who had to climb up all the way from the bottom.

Fang duobing? Of course he's the phoenix, he represents a new cycle and a new beginning and in his wake everything will be changed. Of course he's the dragon, he's going to be the newest legend in the jianghu even as he's growing to fit his still too-big claws. Of course he's the human, wouldn't his desperation to break all his limits and his attempts at keeping what and who he loves close to him hurt all the more if he is the one who is always left behind and always has to push himself too far to keep up.
