Jen is a young and pretty pre-teen girl of average height with pale skin. Her blonde hair reaches a bit past her shoulder blades and is often kept in a low ponytail. She also has green eyes.

Personality:

Jen is a precocious girl who has shown to be mature for her age. She is also quite smart, having figured out Ben’s secret vigilantism with relative ease. Displaying incredible bouts of bravery, she will often face dangerous adversaries or situations with little to no fear.

Jen is a perfectionist, always wanting to do things as best, and perfectly, as she can. However, she tends to push herself to the point where she ends up hurt or overwhelmed. The best example of this is when she nearly broke her ankle while attempting to perform a quadruple turn in mid-air numerous times and didn’t want to stop until she got it right.

She is very hard working and strives to fully complete any task she is given. Part of this is from the fact she feels inferior to the rest of Team Tennyson due to not having powerful abilities or weapons compared to them. Not wanting to be a burden, she works tirelessly to become stronger and reliable.

In contrast with her usually more laid-back older brother, Jen is often more serious. Like him, though, she holds strong ideals and is always willing to help those in needs.

While Jen behaves rather cool around her peers, it’s the complete opposite around girls she’s interested in. She easily becomes flustered and acts awkwardly, finding it hard to say something without it being weird.

Jen is secretly an avid watcher of anime, reader of manga, and player of videos games. She gets embarrassed over the thought of having others know about this side of her. Over time, though, Jen learns to become more relaxed and even cracks a joke occasionally.

Relationships:

Ben Tennyson:

Jen and Ben have a typical sibling relationship and often bicker over things such as who watches what on tv and demanding the other stays out of their respective room. They usually poke fun at or make jokes at the other’s expense. She thinks he’s too laid-back while he believes her to be too serious.

Despite this, though, the pair have a strong bond with one another. Every Saturday night, they have their own tradition of play videos games and making fun of bad movies they watch together. They often go out to eat with each other as well.

Ben is the first person Jen comes out to about her sexual orientation. He also finds out about her secret interests and playfully calls her a nerd occasionally. Being very supportive of her, he often gives her advice on dating and buys her merchandise of her favorite anime.

Ben can be rather affectionate with his sister and isn’t afraid to say how proud he is of her. He is also very protective, becoming incredibly serious when her safety and concern are involved. There are times when he nearly flew into a rage whenever she gets hurt by enemies. He will do just about anything to make sure she is safe.

Even though she often nags him, Jen genuinely looks up to her older brother. She thinks of him as a hero and admires his convictions. However, there are times when she feels neglected by him when it looks like he puts his heroics before her. Despite that, she always sticks by him and helps with his endeavors however she can.

Though they still occasionally squabble, the siblings truly love and care for one another.

Gwen Tennyson:

Jen has a close relationship with her older cousin, admiring her maturity and skills as a sorceress. They are often seen spending time with one another and reading together.

Gwen adores her younger cousin, being almost as protective of her as Ben is. She teaches Jen about magic, even though the latter is unable to use it herself.

Kevin Levin:

In the beginning, Jen and Kevin have a rather tense relationship. This is mainly because the former had a hard time trusting the latter due to his history with her family and his criminal past. Eventually, she begins to see him in a different light after he saved her during a mission and becomes more friendly towards him.

Jen views Kevin as a second older brother while he thinks her of as a little sister. He teaches her about alien tech and is the one who gave her her War Cube, as well as the other gadgets she uses.

Skills & Abilities:

Unlike the rest of Team Tennyson, Jen does not have powers like Gwen and Kevin or a powerful weapon like Ben’s Omnitrix. However, she makes up for this with her own skill set.

Jen relies on her resourcefulness and cunning, often using the environment to her advantage when facing an adversary. She is also very knowledgeable on different alien species, which has come in handy more than once.

Over the course of the series, Jen becomes trained in armed and unarmed combat. While not yet as skilled as some other characters, she is able to hold her own in hand-to-hand and weaponry.

Thanks her years as a gymnast, Jen has enhanced reflexes and agility. She is able to perform impressive feats in mid-air and land on her feet with grace. It is said that, with more training, she could reach Olympic level by the time she is sixteen.

She also displays talent at becoming a skilled pilot when having to take control of a spacecraft on certain occasions.

Her skills as a marksman are shown throughout the series as she can hit targets with near perfect accuracy.

Being a natural athlete, Jen is skilled at various sports and sometimes plays soccer with her older brother.

Jen has a fondness for art and is quite good at drawing, having a sketchbook full of detailed sketches.

She has shown to very smart, having good grades in school and applying her knowledge to solutions for various problems.

Equipment:

Jen owns a War Cube, a near indestructible piece of alien technology that can transform into any weapon the user can think of. It appears as small, metallic cube when dormant, but activates on her concentration. During the course of the series, it has turned into a bo staff, a spear, a sword, twin pistols, and a sniper rifle.

The War Cube runs on limitless pure energy, which also acts as ammunition.

She also has numerous types of gadgets with various effects she uses depending on the situation.

Trivia:

Jen hates her middle name and cringes every time someone says her full name.

Her favorite color is red.

She admires strong, smart, capable people.

Jen became a fan of video games as a result of often playing Sumo Slammers with Ben when they were younger. This led her to becoming a fan of anime and manga, as well.

Her favorite food is pizza and she dislikes very sweet things.

She can be surprisingly short-tempered at times, usually when she hears someone bad mouthing her brother.

Jen has shown to be rather tomboyish as she rarely wears feminine clothes and is more interested in sports than girly activities. On the occasions she’s worn a dress, she felt like it doesn’t really suit her.

She owns a young Phantom Cat named Ghost:

Phantom Cats are a species of feline-like aliens that can phase through any solid matter. They can also make people who are touching them intangible.

They appear as small cats with light blue fur and bright purple eyes. Three bright purple stripes are laid across their back while another set covers their tail. They also look partially transparent.

Phantom Cats are usually small, but are able to grow to much larger sizes when hunting down prey or facing those that pose a threat to them. In this form, they have long, sharp fangs and deadly claws.

They are considered dangerous predators for their phasing ability and sneaking up on people without a sound.

Jen disagrees when people say she and Ben are actually similar to one another.

She stayed home with her parents during the summer Ben and Gwen on their road trip with Max years ago, so she was not aware of the Omnitrix until Alien Force.

Jen figured out her brother’s vigilantism when noticing the symbol on his aliens matched the Omnitrix.

The first time she ever got grounded was when her parents found out she knew about Ben’s secret and didn’t tell them.

According to their mother, Jen used to follow Ben around constantly when they were younger and spent almost every second together. Her first word was even his name.

Her favorite anime is Dramatic Lady Unity, a parody of the popular yuri anime and manga Revolutionary Girl Utena. She also has a drawing in her sketchbook that is similar to Utena’s trademark uniform.

Alana Apocrypha (Design made editing Gwen Tennyson's model from Ben 10: Omniverse)

Weapon: Weak Spot. Not very visible in her art but she has a hood with a mask. This mask has an AI that determines the weaknesses of her opponents, pointing out their most vulnerable spots as well as what Dust type would be most appropriate to use against them. Weak Spot was designed by Arthur Watts.

Semblance: Tactile Learning. Alana can learn about people an objects via physical touch. She can also randomly learn information, and can generate psychic projections.

As she was originally created as a Weiss proxy, she doesn't have much of her own story, but I would likely have her still be from a wealthy Atlas family.

She's lesbian and has explicitly stated attraction to May Marigold.

She's based on Miraak, Hermaeus Mora, and the realm of Apocrypha, all from Elder Scrolls.

Relax, this is the mostly non-angsty one, Buford just really likes bears and has a dark sense of humor.

So Isabella actually discovers her electricity powers before Buford finds out about his magical aptitude, which means Buford gets the same hero envy Gwen did in the original, just applied to five people/four heroes instead of just one, and we get a more-or-less direct adaptation of Lucky Girl for his first introduction to magic. Part of the less is that he manages to get his hands on one of Charmcaster’s spellbooks towards the end of the episode, so the powers stick a lot earlier.

Hex is Hex, not much to say there, while Charmcaster is around the same age as the kids like the reboot version but has an appearance and personality more based on the classic version. Also she likes flirting with Baljeet, not so much because she actually likes him as because it makes Buford and Ginger angry, which amuses her.

Because he starts learning magic sooner than Gwen did(and because even though I’ve been adapting some canon episodes doesn’t mean I’m gonna do all of them, or do them in the original order) he also finds out about his Anodite heritage sooner. This leads to an episode where his absent father shows up hoping to teach him about his powers, which everybody is having absolutely none of, least of all Buford and Biffany, because he seriously only shows up now when his kid gets fancy powers after not being around at all before and thinks he can just act like nothing’s wrong with that?! I think the fuck not!

Also Buford’s costume is somewhat similar to Gwen’s(you know, the few times she bothered with one), just more grungey and bear-themed instead of cat-themed. His full Anodite form is still purple and pink like Gwen’s because I think he could totally rock those colors.

My s/i's name is Solana Cristalina!!!He's half Petrosapien,half (afro-dominican) human,transmasc genderfluid and bigender,audhd,super bubbly,chaotic,physically incapable of not running his mouth,a pastel punk femme,a mom friend and has a mean streak that's mostly funny but sometimes angsty or played for coolness against villains!His design is meant to look like a half white black person because that's what i am but since he's made of crystals,his colors reflect the primary light of whatever scene he's in(Hobie Brown moment).His eyes glow in the dark and he's strange looking but not enough to not pass as human!

His dad,Diarius,raised him on Petropia for the first 5 years of his life but decided Earth was safer for him and so he started being raised by his mom,Mariana.He had his own special debut episode in Classic called 'Crystal up,Sunshine' and Mariana is a Bruja who mentored Lucky Girl!Gwen on her and her son and daughter's summer jewel collection travels after Solana had his adventure with Ben and Gwen and became basically like siblings with them even though he was only in a few episodes for that run.Him and Kevin met the same year but at their school where Solana was a Special ED kid and Kevin was in a club/support group for troubled kids.He sat in front of Kevin and he was like 'This shiny kid is gonna blind me' which led to them talking and Solana was like 'His edge is going to cut me' /irony.They befriended eachother nonetheless before Kevin dropped out as he's implied to be homeless in canon and Solana was upset since he was his only friend but they reunite in the show itself with the exact quote 'Holy shit,edgy kid!!!' and 'Holy smokes,shiny kid!!!' but it dosen't end well just yet since Kevin was an antagonist at the time

Kevin is black monoracial but mixed etchnicity-His mom is mexican and Devin's american.He was taught to seperate his blackness from his latinohood and he grew up disconnected to his blackness due to almost no other black people around and becoming best friends with Solana was the start of healing journey og embracing his afrolatino identity.He participates in both black latino and black american culture since he's half both!!He used to feel guilty about falling under stereotypes but now sticks it to racists by being way better than them and loves himself for who he is!He has fang grills by Omniverse and his redemption arc in Alien Force isn't relient on romance despite Kelana being a big part of it

The Tennysons are white latinos with Abuelo Max being an argentinian inmigrant based purely on vibes and Verdona was latina too(poc swag transcends solar systems.Next question‼️).Gwen is a lesbian and dating Kai,Julie,Ester and Charmcaster and the last one was her first love and there was so much unnecessary gay drama that could've easily been avoided if Gwen wasn't such a loser when it comes to romance and her and Ben's character development sticks instead of keeping them static characters for the sake of unfunny comedy.Ben and Rook's obviously a thing as a plot that's not really a plot twist since their dynamic is the same as in canon but intentionally romantic

Kai is recurring in Alien Force and respectfully written as navajo instead of only existing for Ben and having a fucking feather in her hair and is an official member of Team 10,as is Julie who's also not a Ben love interest but a girlgeek that has a sibling-like relathionship with him and has Ship pre-debut as she gets her own special like Solana that dives into her backstory.Ester's way more prominent too and yet another member and has quiet bpd due to childhood trauma but is helped with it by her friends and girlfriends

The last additions to complete Team 10 to make it fit it's namesake are Charmcaster,Albedo and Alan.Hope is still technically a villain but a dear friend to everyone on the gang who regularly spends time with them and helps on missions,Albedo got a fullon redemption arc and Alan was pretty much adopted/taken in by everyone since he dosen't have parents

They're also all trans and autistic

Solana and Ben are a 'i'm mean to you because i love you' typa beat,Solana and Gwen are soul sisters who bond over everything and on the same level to eachother as him and Kevin are and Kelana in Classic was Kevin actively trying to make Solana worse but Solana is such a nice person that it dosen't work,in Alien Force they get to be proper longterm friends with crushes undertones and in Omniverse they basically act like they're dating already but are still complete oblivious.They develop all throught the franchise and don't get together until the final series:Ben 10 Forever

Ben 10 Forever takes place in Ben's young adult years and is a darker,more complex story to reflect it.This includes Solana dying when he saved Diarus' life in a battle in episode 1 but being ressurected with Petrosapien resources and having trauma from it and Diarus has survivor's guilt.He was always afraid something would happen because he just dosen't trust most human's and blames himself moreso because he feels he should've been there full time,even though he wasn't neglectful and visited all the time with him and Mariana just being long distance

Kevin having mimic powers and Solana being crystalline=They're a reflection of eachother

Mr Smoothie is Team 10's hangout and Solana has a job at a thrift store and convinced Ben to be hired alongside him

Back from my long-ass hiatus to post my Sunny Tennyson redesign! I don’t even remember if she was in omniverse, but her character design - much like Gwen’s - REALLY annoyed me. Also, I feel like it’s such a missed opportunity to do some girl emo/goth designs. (And who doesn’t love a good emo and/or goth character???) All these look are very e-girl inspired!!

The first look is definitely my favorite and it’s e-girl slash early 00′s mall goth. The bob works so much better for her than Gwen imo and gosh... any excuse for space buns and piercings...

Also I’m going to use this as an excuse to dump some of my Sunny headcanons:

Her character used to always bother me because she’s LITERALLY just Blackfire from teen titans (recolor of redhead protagonist who’s evil) and I hate when writers take easy way outs like that. However, she’s started to really grow on me because I feel like she could be a great foil to Gwen a la Kevin. 

She’s three years older than Gwen. (Because I really hate that they’re all supposed to be the same age? Like mix it up) But her parents always compared her to Gwen growing up so she resented her.

She’s Gwen’s maternal cousin, while Ben is Gwen’s paternal cousin. (Also ties into my headcanon that Verdona is Gwen’s maternal grandmother and had no relation to Max.) This ties into further headcanons I have but basically: Gwen’s dad is brothers with Ben’s dad (canon) and Gwen’s mom is sisters with Sunny’s mom (headcanon). I headcanon Gwen’s mom as super preppy/ country club-esque and Sunny’s mom as more chill, type B personality. 

I have to competing headcanons about her witchcraft and I really can’t decide which I like more. 1) She realized her powers WAYYY later than Gwen. (Gwen realized hers at 10 but she realized hers at 15.) But by the time Gwen’s ~19 y/o or general college age, Sunny has WAY surpassed Gwen in skill. This makes Gwen really jealous. The reason is Sunny has always been into witchcraft so she came in with a ton of more knowledge than Gwen, who’s more preppy. I also headcanon Gwen to have not trained from post original series to fifteen years old because she was suppressing that side of her life. 2) Alternatively, Sunny’s whole aeshetic is witch-craft and gothic stuff, and she’s SUPER jealous that Gwen, her preppy cousin has witch powers but she doesn’t. (She finds out Gwen’s a witch and Ben’s an alien at 18 and is like WHAT?) No matter how much Sunny studies, she will *never* be a witch, which reallly pisses her off. This adds to her already heavy resentment of Gwen for things she can’t control.

She’s constantly like whyyyyyy does my preppy cousin have a cool alt boyfriend but I don’t??? How is that fair??? To me??

I feel like she’d have a HUGE tiktok following for spiritual advice, funny but mean videos, and do all the sound trends. (Maybe fandom stuff?) Huge on witch tok, ironically.

Because she’s cousins once-removed with Ben, they’re not close at all. Both feel neutral towards each other. (But she’s way nicer to Ben than Gwen.)

Also, maybe Gwen always felt jealous that Sunny’s mom was wayyy less judgmental than her mom. (e.g. I imagine that Gwen’s mom would NEVER let her dye her hair or dress alt). But Gwen never told Sunny this.

Their relationship is a vicious cycle because Gwen assumes the best in people so she’ll always be nice to Sunny and this just adds to Sunny’s resentment of her. (”Why does she have to be Miss Perfect? Just get mad like a real person.”)

I also have this really detailed headcanon about her bullying Gwen, but it would probably fit best as a fic, so I’ll post a link if/when I write it!

I’m definitely gonna work on Gwen redesigns because... her omniverse design is AWFUL!!

Also, at some point, I want to draw the anti trio of Sunny, Ken (Gwen’s brother), and maybe Rook as the third character?

Oop, also, I made her boobs smaller because I HATED how omniverse designed female body types lmao. Like your boobs are usually proportion to your body weight, so it wouldn’t make sense for them to be huge the way they are drawn.
