It feels fitting to say a few words before this finale drops. I've noticed a lot of people in the fandom doing so, and I really appreciate it!

Today, I went out on a limb and told my relative of mine that tomorrow is the series finale of Bad Batch, even though I knew that the statement wouldn't mean a darn thing to them... and (surprise, suprise), it didn't. It felt good to just say it out loud because in reality it is something I care about.. But I come here, and the site is buzzing with anticipation and encouragement, and it's just a nice thing to be a part of a fandom like this.

I tend to find myself in fandoms after the show/movie series is complete, and I'm pretty sure this was the first fandom I was a part of from the beginning and got to experience it as it played out with you all. It's been so much fun!!!

I'm on board with what the writers have done thus far (still hanging onto the idea of Tech, believe it or not... do whatever you see fit with that piece of info). I will be sad if it really was once and for all, but even so, I appreciate the story we have gotten. I'm glad Crosshair is back! I'm glad that we'll see this show complete instead of canceled on a cliffhanger.

I'm excited to see what happens...Highkey debating whether I should sacrifice good sleep to stay up and watch or not haha. I feel like I want to sit and take it all in a comfortable setting, but the only chance I'll get is at the end of the day, but I don't think I can wait that long! I guess we'll see!

what do you think of people who don't see will as a main character? i've found my first on tumblr:

this is less a comment on how they wrote will than his overall meaning in the narrative. even without the whole noah confirmation that will is BACK and BIG in s5, why do you think so many people, including GA, couldnt pick up on will's importance?

i recall first watching the show in s1 2016. even before ship wars existed, even before i knew about 'byeler' as it was called, i felt in my soul that will was important. there was a magic about him! he felt so intriguing and special. i even wrote in my journal that 'will byers is an iconic figure'. i have that old journal somewhere, and there's no elaboration! just that one sentence! haha

will was so mystical and powerful to me. i am not queer and did not pick up on this part of him, at least consciously, until s3. but something about him i adored and he mattered to me. these viewers who don't see will as important... do you think they truly missed the point of the show? if so, its a shame, but theyre very adamant that it's others who are missing the point and that we're not supposed to care for will, and i just can't see how that would ever be something the creators would want for any of their original characters. + will isn't an extra, or even a secondary character despite his lack of screentime because the heart of the story and narrative hinges around him. he is subtextually, implicitly important - this is storytelling 101!

(many of these will-indifferents also want fics of mike where will is only background/not important, even though they see mike as gay. they want a s5 gay mike arc, but where will doesnt figure in it, and i dont understand how that can make sense in this show when mike and will have always been part of each other's lives, even as friends???)

I honestly cannot understand Stranger Things fans who don't like Will. Or view him as non-important. Yeah, even though he was in so little season one, he is sooooooo so vital and if you don't care about that little boy, what are you doing here? The show failed you and its purpose. I cared so much from the moment he ran from that monster and disappeared, hooked for life on this silly little show. Will did that! Plot device? Sure, of course. All characters are plot devices to an extent. But to say that's all he is? We learn so much about who he is from little snippets in s1, he's a real character. Sure, we care about the story of finding him, but why do we care? Defined haunting the narrative. That's so sad if people only see him as this afterthought to move the story along.

Did people not watch season 2? I can kiiiiiind of get what people meant if we were thrown back in time to pre-s2 times and we only know what we know and as a casual watcher, maybe you just saw the show and didn't think too deep. (Not me, I loved Will and was looking forward to what else was in store with him after that s1 cliffhanger with the slug, are you kidding??? How interesting!) How can you still view Will this way after season2?

I think these people missed the point of the show. Truly. Surface level watching, I honestly don't know. I can excuse the fandom colloquial and snarky read of the "GA" because these are just people who like the show but with everything they like, it's not deeper thinking. Still goofy how they miss so many points I feel are blatant in the show, but a lot of people barely absorb what they're watching ("omg I love ST, Dustin and Steve are so funny haha I hope they bring Eddie back haha the show is so scary haha") <- like that's honestly how randos sound.

The fandom fandom people who are actively on sites like tumblr and into actual fan shit??? How do you hate Will if you're not a milkvan stan? Why?? What is the reason to care about a Mike sexuality storyline and think it has nothing to do with Will?????? Whose arc thus far has that play a huge role in his character? They are so entwined. Just say you're a FW stan and stop pretending to be anything deeper, that's totally fine, but just admit that. The rest of us aren't crazy for analyzing deeper and understanding the point of the show - that Will has always been and will always be the heart of the storyline. Season 5 gonna be a huge wake up call for a lot of people. But I try not to think about or indulge those people too often. Stay positive, ignore dumbass interpretations and takes. We know what and who are important.

so, basically calhoun saves turbo from cybugs in this moment and he glitches out from her to hide in some crack with an aid kit he found. he genuinely believes that he just caused hero's duty to be unplugged, so he stays there willing to go down with the game like he "should've done before". while he tried to heal his arm with the aid kit, but soon he realized that it won't work

he spends there whole day, scared to close his eyes because when he does, he sees the green glowing mouths. being surrounded by the cybugs was a nightmare come true. because if they are him, he would've turn into a monster again and hurt tamora. tamora, who would've seen him being eaten

tamora finds him when the arcade's closed. she reassures him that hero's duty is fine and that the player freaked out about hurting her "favorite npc" more than the fact that he reacted out of game's limits. turbo is still shocked when she brings him to felix, and he doesn't speak much when she tells her husband what happened to turbo

felix couldn't fix his arm with his hammer. direct actions from players impact the characters differently, and without his game and his codebox it was just a matter of time when he'd get damaged beyond fixing. but he's okay with it, he's smart and can figure something out. a prosthetic arm, perhaps. but calhoun and felix feel bad about this, they feel guilty, and turbo hates it. because it was his decision to be in hero's duty, he knew the risks and lived like that for 15 years in sugar rush when each and every one of the races could've been his last. he got used to the adrenaline, to the feeling of constant danger. he had his game only for seven years, not even a half of his lifetime, and accepted the fact that he may die any day. and he lived so, like every day was his last, taking everything what was given to him

he loved every moment he spent with felix and tamora, it was the best time of his life, but he couldn't just sit in his new little house during daytime, waiting patiently for his partners while they do what they were programmed for. something that turbo took away from himself, something that he tried to replace with sugar rush, but the price of that was too high. vanellope didn't deserve any of this, turbo twins didn't deserve any of this, the characters of roadblasters didn't deserve any of this. all turbo wanted is to be a part of a game again, to be needed and not feeling so useless and helpless, but with another try he once again hurted the people he cared about

he glitched away from the niceland when he realized, that he was yelling all this at tamora and felix. they already felt guilty, he didn't want their pity as well. turbo found himself in sugar rush, and the fear of seeing vanellope or ralph was like a hold on his throat. so he moved to a place where no one would think to look

it was warm inside the mountain, wet and hard to breathe. being in this place again was strangely calming, memories of burning alive didn't feel so painful anymore. maybe that's because he went through much worse this day, he couldn't tell

he just wanted to stay alone for some time, think a little about everything, but apparently it was never meant to be. he was looking at his blurred reflection in dark brown liquid when a claw reached out for him out of the cola and tried to drag him down

turbo glitched out of this grasp only to see himself rising from the lava. a giant figure of king candy — a cybug mutant — had rise above him

Just read chapter 8 and kept saying “we are so back” the whole time they were hooking up and my delusional ass thought we were getting a conclusion and a happy ending in this chapter and forgot that his ass has to work 😭 but you’re a wonderful writer who has a well-structured story to tell and I know this whole journey is gonna be worth it. Pros

I actually am a big fan of muppets abc. I’ll get into the cons later but I like the style of humor the show has (for the most part), I like when the muppets have more of an adult spin where it’s not like family guy humor but it’s a little more mature than most muppet projects. The modern muppets have been so heavily targeted toward children in many projects that it’s nice to see them recognize that a lot of modern muppets fans are adults (not that adults can’t like children’s humor, I for sure do, but y’know).

Also I really like a lot of the people they chose as guests for the show, and I honestly like the sitcom style following the muppets backstage of a show. I think it’s a good modernization of the original muppet show premise that allows it to focus less on skits and more on characters. Also normally I despise social media plot lines but I actually like the way this show handles pulling the muppets into the digital age, which is crucial for such a timeless property.

Also, as many problems as there are for muppets fans, it’s a really good show to watch with people who casually enjoy the muppets. This show’s style is more to the taste of some of my family members so I like watching it with them. And separate from the muppet’s characterizations the comedy is really good (but that’s subjective so I can see how it rubs some people the wrong way).

Cons

For one the cliffhanger ending kills me. Even if this show was weirdly received it had a really short run, they could’ve used a few more episodes or another season so we didn’t get left on such an annoying cliffhanger (that left Kermit and piggy still officially broken up since the show didn’t continue long enough for them to get back together).

Ok let me get into characters now, because that’s a criticism that I think is 100% valid (though I also think few people other than jerry juhl have properly understood the muppets and not flanderized their characters in some way)(but yeah it’s really bad here).

Scooter!!

How they’ve massacred my boy!

We’ll get to piggy but scooter is the one I’m most upset about. Why? Why change him from nepo baby humor to haha nerd comedy?? It was 2015 man we love making fun of nepo babies and rich people nowadays why would they change the character whose gimmick gets funnier with age?

His characterization feels pulled from the Big Bang theory. All his comedy is just “virgin nerd” comedy. I love that the show tried giving him more screen time than other projects but they fumbled the bag. He was a spoiled teenager who was wild and fun and could get away with anything because his uncle was rich. I get he’s older now but I refuse to think aging did this to him.

Because I’m a nerd I’m gonna pull some quotes about scooter from the new Richard hunt biography bc that man understood his characters.

“Like Hunt, Scooter is a born performer. Scooter also resembles Hunt in his amiable disposition and his almost nonchalant acceptance of the other characters and their quirks.”

“This acceptance stems from his own quiet confidence in himself… happily amusing himself and the people around him.”

“‘Scooter is a perpetual kid and very comfortable with who he is,’ said Hunt.”

HMMMM? CONFIDENCE? A PERFORMER? COMFORTABLE WITH WHO HE IS?

abc scooter just gives off such anxious vibes it really makes him feel like he’s lost the part of himself that made him so much like Richard Hunt.

Piggy

Ughhh she’s just not fun to watch for the most part in this show. I like the idea of her being the star of the show this time around, reminds me of her unexpected rise to fan-favorite muppet soon after Oz took over her character.

I also really like her friendship with deadly. I think miss piggy so often is boiled down to her love for Kermit that I really love the idea of having her explore platonic bonds. Her looking so hard for happiness in romantic relationships but eventually realizing that deadly is the one who’s been by her side, that he’s her friend and that she really loves him for sticking by her is a really sweet arc (for both of them. Love platonic piggy relationships and I like the modern fashion designer vibe they’ve been doing with deadly, I think it’s a fun reimagining of his original character).

But her diva meter really is pushed up to eleven.

Not to pull more from the Richard hunt bio, but Oz describes piggy as “The tough woman underneath the coyness. And the fact that she had to be coy to get things the way she wanted them, like most women at that time.”

Piggy is from humble beginnings and understands how she needs to act to get people to feel a certain way about her. She also won’t take shit from anybody, though. She knows her worth and knows she’s worked hard to get here, but it also was such an uphill battle to stardom for her I just refuse to believe she would become so selfish and act so privileged the way she does in the show.

ABC piggy doesn’t feel like a girl who tries to be coy but knows to be tough when she needs to be. ABC piggy is mean. She has a thin temper and everyone is scared of her and she’s so removed from the non-famous life that she has trouble bonding with people. She only does community service for publicity and can barely manage to do any manual labor. She’s not tough. She’s angry. She’s short-tempered and violent. And she has no trace of her humble roots, that gratefulness for the position of fame she’s in that she holds in so many other roles.

Others

Sam is pretty creepy. I love his gag of being the censorship for the show, him popping up saying “can’t say that” is a nice little nod to him trying to control the chaos of the original show and his little conservative speech sketches. His crush on Janice is kinda odd tho. I like him getting more modern spotlight, I really like his character in most wanted (though a rewatch of that is needed haven’t seen it in a while). But yeah he’s kinda weird here.

Also why were gonzo and Camilla broken up. Disagree. Idc about your relationship drama they’re the muppets otp.

Uhh trying to think off the top of my head, it’s been a few months since my rewatch of the show. I don’t like the mayhem fight. I think teeth and Floyd fighting over Janice is weird and off for them in modern day. Respect Janice rejecting labels, go off Queen.

Conclusion/TLDR

I had more to say than I realized but I don’t want to make too long of a post. Tldr, I really like the show and it’s humor but it does feel divorced from “the muppets” as a pre-established franchise and characters. The characterization is bad, even though I appreciate them trying to give more screen time to some lesser used characters, it didn’t really work. I just think it had a lot of potential, and I like the idea of a more adult but still family oriented muppet show, but the execution was really hit or miss.

alright I've thought about it for a while, and I'm fairly confident that is in fact Bram, and that Aya isn't hallucinating/seeing an illusion.

The biggest thing casting doubt, aside from the obvious different outfit, is the fact that the chapter ends on this reveal, suggesting it could be a cliffhanger bait. However, BSD's cliffhangers always involve something terrible happening that gets rectified in the next chapter(s), to scare us before giving us back hope; there's never been a case of the other way around, where something good happens to get our hopes up, only to have the rug pulled out from us at the start of next chapter to show that we were foolish for hoping. Asagiri is never that cruel. He loves his death baits and his dangerous situation baits before letting us know that everything is okay, and he'd never suggest that it was wrong for the audience or the characters to have hope, when BSD is quite literally about having hope even in the most absurd situations.

But more specifically, just.... what would a fakeout like this accomplish? The only way I could maybe see it was if this is Fyodor, and we think Aya is safe but she's actually not, but there's no way it's him, because we see him with the singularity and Kunikida/Tanizaki at the same time as this, he's wearing Bram's outfit and not the one this person has, and we've established that he wants to protect Aya, not hurt her. Granted, he obviously doesn't care enough about protecting her since he let her escape and get hurt all on her own lmao, so that's exactly why I ask what would be the point of him suddenly showing up just to save her from the rubble, only to then just hurt her anyway? None of that is logical.

And then, if it's Akutagawa, then that means we had our emotions played with for a twist that is just.... mildly disappointing but also not outright bad for the characters? Disappointing because Bram isn't back after all, but also not a net negative because Aya is still being rescued by someone we know and trust. If that were to happen, Aya hallucinating Aku as Bram, I just can't see it happening as a chapter cliffhanger fakeout at all; it would just feel cheap and cruel, playing with our feelings (not to mention Aya's feelings!) regarding a character we want to come back, for a reveal that isn't really worth it and doesn't change the status quo (because she's still safe regardless if it's Bram or Aku).

Aside from the lack of narrative justification, I also believe that if Aya were to hallucinate Bram, she would see him exactly as she knew him back when he regained his body — I mean, she basically does see him like that when she's remembering his last moments with her in this chapter and in the previous one when she's yelling at Fyodor; sure they're just repeated panels as flashbacks, but they're still her memories of how she sees him. I was unsure for a while about the figure's identity, but it was seeing it pointed out that Bram no longer has his nails that was really the final nail in the coffin haha get it, it's a multilayered joke, please laugh- for me: why would Aya hallucinate Bram not only not in his own outfit, but with his body altered from how she knows it? There'd be no reason why she would, and no way she could. She's never seen him in a different outfit, with different nails. Note that every other instance we've gotten of characters hallucinating significant figures in their lives (Atsushi, Mushitarou, Dazai), they're always wearing the clothes they're most known for and what the person knows them to wear. There's no reason to assume this would be different for Aya, and that she'd imagine him wearing a completely random outfit from the one she associates with him, and randomly without his signature long black nails.

This closeup panel of Bram's collar right when he first begins speaking pretty much proves my point. It's inconsistent with the new outfit (Aku's outfit) we see him wearing on the last page, but with the framing of this, with him being entirely in shadow in the rightmost panel when he first appears, it's clear to me that Aya can't see him clearly yet, so she's imagining him the way she remembers him. And then he gets closer/lifts the beam higher so that the shadow starts receding from him, and his feet and hands and different outfit become visible. The tone of this moment and the way it plays out is exactly as I've seen in numerous other visual media, where a character thinks they're on the brink of death and has lost all hope and is ready to accept it, before the slow, grand reveal of the person they thought they'd lost rescuing them, often with them posing a philosophical question to challenge their current despair or their belief that their loved one couldn't possibly still be alive, just as Bram does here. If you've seen enough movies and TV, you can probably imagine exactly the kind of scene I mean, and exactly how this moment would play out if it were animated I say "would" because it's never a given that Bones will adapt it with the right tone like I imagine.

This is framed as a triumphant, hopeful scene, of a knight coming to rescue his princess after he was thought to be dead. Aya has hurt her leg here, she's trapped, she's realizing she's about to die, and she's at last fully convinced herself that everything she so staunchly believed in was wrong and that everything she fought for all that time was for nothing; firstly, why would she suddenly hallucinate Bram if she had already lost all hope, but most importantly, why would the narrative have Bram defy death and return to her and challenge the idea that all her ideals and actions were meaningless, only for it to turn out that it isn't really him, when she misses him so bad? That just.... wouldn't be right at all, that's not the feeling this scene gives at all. This is their moment, Bram has to be the one to say these things to Aya with their history together, not anyone else, and I can't imagine Akutagawa saying something like what Bram says to her here, about royalty carrying out their pledge to protect someone without fail, even if he has inherited Bram's protectiveness towards Aya like Fyodor has. No, I'm 90% certain that is indeed Bram. It can't possibly be anyone else.

...And so, all that to say that yeah, I believe that Bram has Fyodor'd himself into Akutagawa's body, since he's wearing his outfit. We don't really know the extent of Bram's powers, but it's looking likely that he can bodysnatch any of his vampires for himself if something ever happens to him, or perhaps Aku might be special since he was the first vampire Bram created at the start of all this. Needless to say I'm not at all worried about Aku though; this is probably the beginning of why he ends up with that suit of armor later on, since Bram has his clothes... I just have no idea how we get to that point. But Aku will be fine, I'm sure; this may even be the only way he can come back from being a vampire.

The Madness Kicks in.... And Someone else Tries To Take Hold..

In a matter of minutes, Crazed went from silently watching as SMG4 was looking on his phone to grinning like a maniac once Four decided to get up and do some work...now sadly was his time to shine....Four made his way to his room, sitting down in his chair and turning on his computer, about to work on some memes or possibly a new video whilst Crazed menacingly hovered behind him, it didn't take long until the hallucinations strengthened to the highest degree......Four worked away at his computer, "SMG4~ why are you in such a rush~?" "Oh you naiive, little man! Did you REALLY think you could just ESCAPE?! Without a SINGLE SCRATCH OR MARK?!? HOW IS THAT EVEN POSSIBLE?! HOW ARE YOU FINE?!?!?" The hallucination screamed with anger and confusion, but it was true...how did Four not get any physical damage from that month and a half apart from not eating or sleeping..?..he had no scars..almost as it never happened......was it luck?.. "You just HAD to RUIN my plans! I could have so EASILY gotten those five stars from the beginning if it wasn't for YOU!..." He continued...then his tone drifted to a more calm yet insane tone "A magnificent drama..where the leader of all his friends turned on them for something as simple as a video....." "You won't win.." "w h a t?" "I said you WON'T WIN!... Every time there is someone that tries to destroy or hurt the crew we DEFEAT them! Do you think we won't do the same to you? Yes we tried before...But I'll be damned if we don't try again and send you to the damn either..." Four threatened...determination filling his blue eyes, teeth gritted with pure hatred. Mr Puzzles actually paused at this...he wasn't expecting such a threat from the man, especially when he doesn't even fight often! Yet here he was giving him a death threat..no, PROMISE...... "Well would you look at THAT! SMG4 getting all RILED UP!! HAHA! I knew you had it in you! All I had to do was poke, poke and PROD at your little, PATHETIC mind and body to get you to finally snap again!" Mr Puzzles said wickedly still through the hallucination of Crazed......It seems as though Four is really going to have to fight back his own mind, feelings, and this sickly TV bastard... God why is this the one time the crew isn't around to help?! THINK FOUR THINK!! Wait...SMG3!!! THAT'S IT!!!!

Digimon Tamers - Episode 34

What the fuuuuuuck? Whelp, I got the darkness I've been waiting for and I didn't really care for it to be honest. Don't get me wrong, I'm still excited for this show to get edgy, but this episode just felt jarring and the animation was kinda questionable.

Btw you've all been very courteous in the replies not spoiling anything, so thank you for that. Please continue to not spoil things haha :) I feel a little bad sharing this photoset because even the episode's title is spoilerific, but I'll make sure to tag it properly so at least the people that blacklist spoilers don't see it. (Then again, maybe I'm the only one in 2023 who still hasn't seen this show lol).

Notes:

Because I made the mistake of googling Culumon's gender a few episodes back, I did get spoiled that they're not really a digimon. Still, this raises many questions. What are they? Where did they get the name Culumon? What was their original form and how did they get their current form? etc. etc. I guess them not being a digimon lines up with them being partner-less and having a weird digivolution enhancing power.

This episode felt weird because it was basically (other than a brief, relaxed bit) one loooong battle scene filled with misery and rage. It sort of felt like one of those really abrupt surprise horror things like Doki Doki Literature Club because the tone shift was so jarring. Normally I like that sort of thing, but I don't know that it was executed well here.

I think the main flaw that this episode had for me is that the focus was on Leomon dying and Juri breaking down over his death. I do not care enough about those characters for that to have an impact on me. I don't feel like there was enough time spent developing their tamer-partner relationship. Even in this very episode when Leomon is questioned as to why he became Juri's tamer he's just like "fate I guess" which is a pretty lukewarm response. Also, Leomon dying is like a meme in Digimon lore, so that was another blow against this moment.

It felt a little off to me that Kyubimon got so beaten up but Ruki just panicked on the sidelines instead of running to comfort her. I get that that was probably a self-preservation response, but it seemed a little cold.

First Juri's digivice (arc, whatever) blue screens and then Takato's shatters!? Now that's intriguing...

I was hype to get a new "bad" digivolution since that hasn't happened since SkullGreymon (unless you count abominations like Chimeramon). It was a little upsetting to see Takato flip out. I wonder if his mixed emotions about Guilmon "just being data" played into his accidental abuse. The evil digivolution is cool looking but maybe has too many colors going on

Daaaaamn, poor Shiuchon just GOT here and now she's going through all this trauma. Not fair...

That was quite the cliffhanger ending, I feel like the follow-up to the chaos will be more interesting than the chaos itself...

LOKI EPISODES 4 and 5, HOLY SHIT!

Let me tell you, this past week was insane! I did manage to watch Episode 4 last week but pretty much fell asleep straight after so I completely missed writing about Episode 4!

So let's talk about that one first before I lose my absolute shit at Episode 5!

As always, HEAVY SPOILERS BELOW THE CUT!

So then... it is finally revealed that Ravonna had something to do with Kang before. I can't say I'm too surprised. And of course she would just kill a bunch of people to get her way.

Quite interesting how she pretended Loki was the villain this whole time when it's actually her. And don't even get me started on Brad!

I have a feeling we're gonna have a big confrontation in the final episode... but I'm getting ahead of myself--I am way too hyped now after Episode 5.

Now, I have to say, Episode 4 didn't have an awful lot of Loki in it, haha! But hells, did Episode 5 make up for that... DAMN!

The cliffhanger was something else. Obviously, the suspense wasn't one of "oh no, they're doomed and everyone's dead now" but rather "oh shit, how are they going to fix THAT?!"

Good thing it wasn't Loki who went out there... so much for spaghettification. So with that... let's move on to Episode 5 so I can lose my absolute shit!

The very moment O.B. mentioned that Loki might be able to control time slipping I was like 👀. I had a feeling where this was going but... patience, patience, patience.

I swear my poor heartbroken God of Mischief... the fact the timelines were all just evaporating was honestly scary. I mean, imagine your reality is falling apart and there is NOTHING left. NOTHING. And there's nowhere for you to go.

I thought it was convenient that Loki would show up in his friends' timelines until I realised there was a reason for that. Speaking of which... B15 was a doctor, aw! And Mobius finally has his Jetskis! And two sons?! GODS! I hope that they'll be able to combine their TVA life and their timeline life. There's gotta be a way, right?

But to be fair... Casey didn't wanna go back to prison (did you hear him say "they're gonna gut us like fish" I was cackling), Mobius loves jetskis but doesn't seem to be 100% fulfilled with this job... O.B. is a writer who's trying to make it (I felt that) and I guess... you could say B15 has great purpose as a doctor but still! So... I'm still with Loki, they did have a purpose at the TVA and it should be their choice.

I totally love the conversation between Loki and Sylvie here and the fact that she admitted that she's selfish. Is Loki selfish too? Yes and no. Yes, he wants his friends back. But why? Because he CARES about them. And because he knows that most of them aren't actually as happy as they should be in their timelines. Also, naturally, if he doesn't fix this, then all of reality will evaporate so his argument is quite valid.

I swear when he said "where do I belong then"... I was SO DAMN CLOSE TO TEARS. I just wanted to HUG him so bad! Because it's true, isn't it? Loki has no timeline to go back to. He can't just show up in Asgard and pretend like nothing ever happened. But a life like the one Sylvie thinks she's happy with, working at McDonald's? That's not it for Loki, we all know that! I swear... by the end of Season 2 it will be official that he found his glorious purpose!

I mean... just the fact that he was willing to give it all up alone... to let Mobius and everyone else go back to their timelines... NO ONE DARE SAY HE IS A VILLAIN EVER AGAIN, OUR PRECIOUS BABY!

I know I said we don't need Loki to be a self-righteous hero and we don't but the character development in this episode, the reflection of what's been going on with him... SO DAMN GOOD! It's proof that Loki has a good heart, honestly! I mean... we knew that already, it's not the first time we saw it on display but still... awww!

So what's next? Loki, the lord of time... I mean, I'm sorry... did he just become the most powerful being in the MCU?! JUSTICE FOR LOKI AT LAST! I WAS SCREAMING LET ME TELL YOU!

I was hoping for something like that so bad and now here we are! With how things are working out right now, I have a feeling it won't be long until Loki is back in the main MCU timeline and the ultimate force in the final battle against Kang!

I exclusively write for Buffy the Vampire Slayer!

(4) What are your top five fics by kudos?

All but the last one are part of my all human / no powers AU series where Faith and Buffy meet post grad school, but these fics are in their "established relationship" era.

My top 5 fics by kudos:

I don't care about the presents: E-rated long multi-chapter about Christmas in Sunnydale where Buffy brings her girlfriend Faith home to meet her Mom. There's a lot of feelings and processing and also lots of E-rated fun. (A little in ch. 5 and then a ton in ch. 8 and 10)

Game of Tag: E-rated well established Fuffy, with 4 short chapters.

Cool Granite Countertop: E-rated short one-shot.

I can see you with my T-shirt on: a WIP! E-rated Fuffy on a vacation trip. This is my current posted WIP. 2 of 4 chapters are posted, but does NOT end on a cliffhanger. I do plan to finish this.

Praise Her Blindingly Scrumptious Luminescence: (the only one of the 5 not part of the AU series) Canon divergent T-rated long slow burn one-shot. Faith awakens from her coma in Season 5 and ends up helping Buffy fight Glory. Nothing bad happens to Joyce. Featuring The Mayor (who survived S3) and several Bring It On characters.

Yes I respond to comments although sometimes slower than I would like. I ADORE comments, they give me life.

(6) What is the fic you wrote with the angstiest ending?

The ending is hopeful but my angstiest fic (so far) is facing sorrow with Faith. Please do mind the tags. It is E-rated, but not really smut. (There's a little but it's VERY brief.) It's about Faith dealing with some of her past trauma, it means a lot to me.

(7) What's the fic you wrote with the happiest ending?

Almost everything else I write has a very happy ending, whether they are blissed out post bedroom fun (E rated), or smiley happy sugary good (G and T rated). There's some angst in I don't care about the presents but I consider it mild, and it has a happy ending.

(8) Do you get hate on fics?

Nope! Probably means I need to be writing less boring stuff, haha. Or just more unconventional stuff. But also fuck the haters.

(9) Do you write smut? If so, what kind?

Yes. I mostly write E-rated F/F smut but I've dabbled in F/F/M and F/M. (Only one fic with the dabbling is posted, but I'm working on more, including a sequel / fill-in.) Also typically what I write is older-than-canon Fuffy. (gif inspo one and inspo two) I try to write PWP but often feelings get involved. For example, if a scene includes a smutty milestone, then sometimes that MEANS something, and feelings intrude.

(10) Do you write crossovers? What's the craziest one you've written?

I rarely write crossovers. Praise Her... (from 4 above) includes several Bring It On characters, but they are in Sunnydale in the Buffyverse. (So that's not tagged a crossover.) I did write a T-rated Seinfeld crossover (My summer vacation in NYC) where pre-teen Faith visits her aunt Elaine, so it's Faith in NYC in the Seinfeld universe. (Although she only interacts with Elaine, not the other characters.)

Neither of those are especially "crazy." I have a rough idea for a weird crossover fic... imagine Bring It On but with elements of Fight Club. Which means: Cliff and Missy are actually both just Missy. Torrance imagines Cliff sometimes, because she's very deeply repressing her attraction to Missy. (Except since I prefer Fuffy over Missy x Torrance I would probably soften Buffy into Torrance, or sharpen Torrance into Buffy.) So Fuffy but no powers AU and they're in the Bring It On world and Faith is both Cliff and Missy.

(I don't think we ever see anyone but Torrance acknowledge both Cliff and Missy as 2 separate people, which is what sparked this idea. Like usually when Cliff and Missy are in the same shot they are alone with each other or talking to Torrance.)

BUT I don't have any idea when this will get written. So if any readers want to take this idea and run with it, feel free! (Maintaining the manic hyper cheerleader campy vibe of Bring It On feels like the trickiest part of this, for version in my head.)

(11) Have you ever had a fic stolen?

Not that I know of.

(12) Have you ever had a fic translated?

Nope but I have a blanket permission statement in my AO3 profile that includes translations.

(13) Have you ever co-written a fic before?

No, I think it could be fun.

(14) What's your all time favorite ship?

Buffy x Faith aka Fuffy.

(15) What's a WIP you want to finish but doubt you ever will?

I plan to finish all my WIPs. There is only one posted WIP too, so I technically only have one to finish, that y'all know of! (*evil laugh*) I might decide to cut some short, so instead of writing a multi years long version, better to just chop it into one season. Praise Her... was originally way longer in the outline, but I'm glad I shortened it.

(16) What are your writing strengths?

Writing fics in a series out of order, which I'm treating as a strength. Working in canon dialogue but in a remixed way. (I have a no powers/no vamps AU drafted fic that works in something very close to the famous "tell me staking a vamp doesn't get you a little bit juiced" line. Cracks me up every time.)

(17) What are your writing weaknesses?

Lots of things I want to get better at! Titles for sure. Getting better at discarding ideas I am in love with. Also, I dislike having to describe what people look like. I will gladly use a famous character from another fandom (any fandom) just to avoid having to describe them. In several fics I pair up Tara with Letty Ortiz from the Fast and Furious franchise. Although I think I just call her Letty and don't describe her, so it was all in my head oops.

(18) Thoughts on writing dialogue in another language in fic?

I can probably swing it in Spanish, for short exchanges. I can definitely do it for a "Fuffy in a situation where they need to speak Spanish but it's sort of broken" scenario. (In my head - Faith speaks it OK, she's not fluent but she understands it and people can understand her. Buffy really struggles with it though.)

(19) First fandom you wrote for?

Same, Buffy the Vampire Slayer! I think I wrote maybe half a story in middle school with my friends, some mean RPF, and then I put fanfic writing in a box and forgot about it. Trying to make up for lost time now I guess.

(20) Favorite fic you've written?

It really depends on my mood. (ahem) I'm proud of my fics but don't want to get into smut talk here. For non smut I'll say a tie between Praise Her... and facing sorrow with Faith. (Again mind the tags on the latter.)

pairing: jack harlow x black!fem!reader

you sometimes wondered if you cared too much

for the longest time jack had been planning and making sure that his tour had been going perfectly.

you watched jack push and over exert himself and you’d wished that we took a break. you couldn’t blame him, this was important for him.

this had been his second biggest tour yet and he wanted nothing but another successful return back

. but you couldn’t blame him, your planning seemed to turn him into a perfectionist and it was easily taking a toll on him, mentally and physically.

so you took it upon yourself to cheer him up. you planned on inviting family and friends over to uplift his mood.

today was the day and you wanted to make sure that it was perfect. slowly but surely people began to arrive and everything was falling into place.

you saw all your friends mingle with one another as it made you smile, all these people loved jack and supported him through his career no matter what.

although, you found jack in a corner by himself with just private garden sitting near him. you took this opportunity to find out what was wrong with him.

you walked over to him and as you got closer and closer, he seemed very timid and his leg was bouncing s mile a minute. gently sitting next to him, you put a hand on his bouncing knee to reassure him.

“you okay jack? you seen a little nervous.”

“i’m fine.”

“are you sure? we could go out and fry some fresh -“

“goddamn y/n! i said i’m fine! could you stop being clingy and breathing down my fucking neck for a minute?!”

for a moment, the entire room went silent and you could hear a pin drop on the ground.

your natural instinct would’ve told you to cry right then and there but that wasn’t even possible.

your mind subconsciously carried you to your feet and to the small closet right next to the front door, your hand gripped the knob and opened the door and the first thing you grabbed was a bat. why would jack decide to embarrass you like this in front of all of these people like this?

“y/n! what are you doing with that bat?!” the voice that was calling after you wasn’t clear, it was fuzzy.

your feet carried you out the door and in front of all jack’s luxury cars.

by now everyone had followed you outside, not knowing what they were about to see.

no one predicted your next move. first you began smashing the windows out of his jeep.

nothing was making sense, you’d only cared for him for so long and you weren’t sure what you did wrong either, so why did he lash out on you like this?

next was his range rover, no hesitation was in mind. your anger knew no limits. you were now busting the windows out of his cars and you didn’t even feel bad.

a strong grip took a hold of you and pulled you away from the cars. the unknown persona took you into the backyard, tears were now pouring out of your eyes and everything was a blurry mess.

“y/n.” you heard someone say as you tried your best to focus on your surroundings. you wiped your eyes and saw sunni kneeling on the ground in front of you. and you’d never been happier to see a friendly face.

“i’m not going to tell you to calm down but i need you to at least breathe.” he told you, he was holding your hands to prevent anything else from happening.

urban came into the back with water for you, and the look on his face was seemingly nervous, not for jack but for you. he’d never seen you meltdown like this ever.

now you were the one bouncing your leg out of complete nervousness. you were shaking your head and in hysterics. urban and sunni couldn’t watch you in this state, so the next best thing was taking you to a hotel for a few days so that you could clear your head.

jack watched as they lead you away from everyone else. he felt bad, he didn’t mean to embarrass you like that, but he felt what he did was justified.

So many things could happen in the finale. I kept finding myself daydreaming up possibilities instead on focusing on the task as hand.

Soooo… I’m going to continue to distract others, too. Here are some questions you consider answering.

1- What do you think the cliffhanger will be?

(My only hope is that it doesn’t involve Tim or Lucy. They’ve both had a rough go of it this season)

2- What do you think the trilogy is that Max Geo has teased about for Chenford?

3- Do you think the BOSS Big Bad will be revealed? Any predictions for who it is??

Ooh, I’m like the worst possible person to ask this because I cannot make decisions for the life of me so my answer might just be ramblings of several different things instead of a definitive answer 😂 but I will try! (So as I suspected, this got a little out of hand so I needed to put a keep reading tab in haha)

1) Oh, I’m right there with you! If I had one wish for the finale, it’d be that the cliffhanger doesn’t involve either of them for the exact reason you pointed out. My fear, however, is that they know a Chenford cliffhanger might deliver the biggest gut punch and after this season, I don’t trust Alexi not to go there. So I hope it’ll be about Nolan and/or Bailey because I just don’t care about them much (sorry!), but I’m preparing myself for a Chenford one with one of them in danger or, who knows, maybe Lucy needs to go dark cause her cover’s been compromised? Again, I have no clue, but my best guess is that someone from the team is seriously in danger (🤞🏻not Chenford🤞🏻for my own sanity).

2) So here’s the thing. At this point, I can’t decide if he’s just messing with us and simply meant the fact that he’s doing another interview with Mel and Eric (he did one before the season aired and one with Mel about 6x06), or if it is in fact related to the characters. If it is about Lucy and Tim, my best guesses would be that it’s either a third first kiss or potentially a third first date, even though I don’t want the latter to happen just yet because the breakup would feel a bit unnecessary if they already went on a date, in whatever way that could happen. Imo, something big would have to happen for them to have more than a conversation. Although now that I think about it, I guess a date could also be just them going somewhere to talk and it just has all the vibes of a date. But other than that, I honestly don't know what else it could be. Maybe it's something no one has even thought of yet.. for now, I'm just gonna say he meant his third interview about them this season.

3) The big bad boss… mmmh, this is a very good albeit very tough question to answer. I feel like I still haven’t fully understood who actually is or isn’t involved or possibly involved so I’m just gonna say it could either be someone we know already (like Elijah, although I actually don’t want him to be back; I'm on the side of "I've had enough of him to last a lifetime...), or maybe it’s this Eric Ramsey guy they mentioned last week. I feel like it might deliver a bigger punch if it were someone we already know in a way instead of someone completely new, but I’m not sure who beside Elijah or Oscar (lol) could even fill that role. So to sum up, I really do not have a clue 😅

Hi! It's me again. First off, Sam and Pocket being able to just joke around and have each other's back is the sweetest thing ever. I love how she has someone in her corner during this time because, will, i can already tell things are about to get so bad with that plan of hers.

Hmm, I honestly do feel like Pocket is being too overconfident in this and it's getting me really worried. Like, drugs are no joke and they can really be so nasty and drag you back into addiction even if it's the tiniest bit. So many things could go wrong on so many levels and like I said before, she's already not in the best mental state right now so adding this on her plate will do more harm than good. I know she's saying she can handle herself, and that that girl is gone now. But I have a bad feeling that her complacency about it is going to back fire. I'm just here hoping Sam would be able to get to her on time. Also kinda hoping Buckaroo would somehow make an appearance but I also want him to wallow some more so. I can't decide haha

I only have one theory today though, about the whole, underground thing going on at the strip club. Could it be connected to Hydra? If so, could it be the missing women are taken as prisoners for them and being experimented on? That could lead Pocket to the same predicament a.k.a. her getting captured in their facility and that's where she's going to find out how Jeanine is connected to them. I could honestly be reaching too far here lmao. But I have a tiny feeling that Jennifer is connected to this somehow. But, it could also be not connected at all. And this is simply something Pocket had to face.

Anyways, I saw you say that laters update is going to end in a cliffhanger so expect me to just spew out theories left rigcht and center hahaha you're amazing btw. and I will say, don't be too hard on yourself with writing. Even just putting a few words into a doc is an achievement already. Take care of yourself!

I'm glad she has Sam, too... for now, anyway. O.o

She's definitely over-estimating her ability to Say No to Drugs (TM). And there's going to be a particular event that will push her over the edge, to where she just doesn't care what she does to herself. A self-inflicted punishment, if you will.

Bucky will show back up in Chapter 25, which is only one chapter away now, but, like, nearly two months in story-time.

You are totally right about The Wiggle Room and the trafficking being tied to Hydra, so you are not reaching too far!

With Friends Like These is coming along-- already 20k words in and it's only four chapters so far, lol!
