Cleon Headcanons Part 2

(More headcanons because I love Cleon and have been writing them lately. If you wanna use these headcanons, please @ me so I can read the beautiful Cleon.)

1: After telling Claire that he loves her for the first time, 90% of what he calls her is “my love”. Some people that don’t know them have to ask him who he’s talking about. 

2: Whenever Leon comes back from missions, he clings to Claire. She seems to enjoy the attention until she has to go to work or a meeting. Then she makes him knock it off so she can go about the things that she needs to do. 

3: Claire’s favorite thing to do right before Leon gets back is throw his shoes in the closet, so he’s perpetually confused the next day when he goes looking for more comfortable shoes.  

4: Now that Sherry’s older, Leon and Claire take her to the pub with them when they go to meet the rest of the group of survivors. Leon still covers her ears when someone says something wildly inappropriate like she isn’t a grown ass woman who’s definitely not living with Jake.  5: Leon and Claire are the absolute epitome of the “old married couple” stereotype. They bicker about little things which usually ends in one of them kissing the other and getting their way. The bigger things usually lead to longer arguments and trying to get poor Chris and Jill involved. One time, Leon tried to involve Hunnigan and she shut that down so fast.

BISD au Casey deserves some psychological warfare as a treat, and Bishop being Bishop the more mild forms of messing with him are probably more effective lol

I really like Machete and Vasco, but I was wondering how many more OCs you have? I remember seeing some kind of dog deity on your twitter account and I've been wondering who it was ever since. 🤔

You can find most if them in my toyhouse! I still haven't added some of the most recent ones, like Ludovica.

My stats there seem to claim I have 97 characters listed, but none of them are as developed and active as Machete and Vasco. Many have just a design and a couple of core traits.

Unfortunately I can't say which one you might've seen back in twitter.

The cutest reminder ever that the way family works in TSAMS canon is that two parties have to be in mutual agreement that they are family. If one party doesn't agree then they aren't family. Parties can revoke familial ties whenever they want and that means they are no longer family.

"Code Relation" theory is stupid because you're then implying that Eclipse is Sun and Moon's child. Which he isn't. Or that Killcode is somehow Moon's child and his brother at the same time that he's Eclipse, Lunar and Bloodmoon's "father" at the same time that they're Sun and Moon's grand children. Like, we're seeing the issue here, right?

Don't make things more complicated than it has to be. Just accept the fact that family is literally determined by a verbal agreement between two animatronics and nothing else because none of them were born from wombs. That means respecting canon when characters in canon decide that they aren't comfortable being family (like Eclipse) or just straight-up disown everyone (like Bloodmoon). It's okay to have headcanons, but don't try to push them onto canon.

more specifically, NY polycule I think. Noel would do little things to fuck with Arthur I think, and John and Oscar would be trying not to laugh too loud and give it away. sometimes John participates in the fuckery but Oscar feels too bad to mess with Arthur like that. however it’s impossible for him not to laugh at least a little. especially when Arthur clocks what’s happening and laughs too

I know the cc!boys threw April & Splinter off the scent but if they met the canon!boys under the curse, would they even bother?

probably not no! i dont think they would be so upfront in their wording about what's happening because they're all internally justifying it to themselves, though, which would inadvertently throw them off the scent. they wouldn't call it abuse or bullying or neglect or anything. raph and mikey would get defensive if someone called it that, and leo would be like "well yeah but he deserves it." i think they'd just assume they'd understand and try to rope them in.

Tbh i am not surprised that a person who openly talked about having drinking problems since 1d days, because of how crazy 1d worked has been agressive. What surprises me is people being surprised (they never seriously saw drunk person?). But i am also confused about this whole book. Apparently Maya said that that book is not fully bout Liam but compilation about her exes and some of the worst parts are not about him. But recently she said that the book is “ofc about him” so what is true then? Or did she meant it that ofc some parts are about him or that whole book is about him?

I also am not surprised- we've learned so much more about the real stories of things and about the guys' actual lives over the last years, and the story that has unfolded around Liam has been totally consistent throughout if you've been following it, and so the information Maya is telling us is shocking and upsetting but not difficult to believe. I got an anon yesterday saying they were worried about getting similar revelations about the other boys, like "if Liam could be doing this we just don't know, any of them could", and while in a way that's always true I guess, anyone could be doing anything in private like... that doesn't really concern me. Because none of these Liam revelations are coming out of nowhere, there have been many MANY steps along the way leading us here if you've been watching, and he has talked openly about both his mental health struggles and his addiction issues. So to answer that anon... to find out something similar about Louis would in contrast contradict everything we know about him and no I'm not worried about it. Is he an abuser or a loose cannon, well that news would truly shock me to my core, I will be honest. But anyway as for the book I don't find it strange that she was nervous when it came out and treading lightly and later decided, fuck it. In the absolutely on point tiktok she dropped today (YES👏GIRL👏FUCKING TELL THEM👏) she even mentions attempts to keep her from publishing the book, presumably by Liam's team, that I am riveted by and cannot WAIT to hear more details about actually- like I said I don't find it at all strange that she was nervous and downplayed it a bit then. But if she says now that it's just about Liam, well, I would say it's been clear from the beginning that the book is their story. Maya herself brought up the parallel of songs being written about stuff and I think it's the same thing; it's true (she was in an abusive relationship that involved certain kinds of events) but maybe not 100% literal (I'm sure details were changed to make the story work, it's not like a word for word timeline of their interactions or whatever).

i think arthur seeing the message from god “we apologize for the inconvenience” with fenchurch and not with ford is important to the argument towards arthur’s sexuality/relationship to ford. a lot of ppl have different opinions on what that scene and phrase is supposed to mean, and i think a lot of them have good reasoning and lend themselves well to the story no matter what. my favorite interpretation tho is that it means there either is no god at all or if there is one it isn’t worth worrying about. i think “we apologize for the inconvenience” is both about the inconvenience it takes to get all the way to the message, the long long desert and the heat and there even is an accessible way to get there but you aren’t allowed to use the motorized vehicles to get there bc the devout won’t let you even if you yourself don’t believe. so it’s about the inconvenience it takes to get to the message, but it’s also about the inconvenience of life—every inconvenience that faith has caused. all the frustration, all the confusion, all the hardship. it may all be massively difficult for simple beings like humans and betelgeusians, but it’d just be viewed as a minor inconvenience to a omnipotent god.

the effort it takes to get to the message mirrors the effort it takes to live through the hardships caused by religion, even when you don’t have a faith you are bound by the same social constructs. god is apologizing for the fact that none of those constructs even matter, and you suffered for nothing. sorry for the inconvenience.

fenchurch being with arthur and not ford is also a part of the inconvenience—not that fenchurch is an inconvenience (which she is not) but what she represents to arthur: love, relationship, stability, heterosexuality. (not to mention all the similarities between fenchurch and ford, which there are many, and that they are meant to represent a break away from tradition and make arthur look inward at his own problems; what she represents to arthur versus what she actually represents is important, i think) in the same way that they aren’t allowed to use the motorized vehicles to get to the message from god bc the devout won’t let them even tho they don’t have a faith, arthur isn’t allowed to love who he really loves bc the devout won’t allow it. but those social constructs that arthur has tried to abide by mean nothing to god.

i think the scene by itself wouldn’t lend much weight to the argument on arthur’s sexuality, but compared with all the scenes it eventually adds up to something. adams was an atheist, and a lot of his inclusions of religion in h2g2 are silly and satirical, just pointing out the parts that don’t really make sense and seem to have no real consequences. the garden of eden, for example, is easy bc ford points it out himself. but adams still goes through an effort to portray ford as adam and arthur as eve, and even when arthur and trillian are the only humans alive and they have a child together they never fall in love and they never have sex. adams is very deliberate about this, going so far to break the fourth wall to get frustrated at readers who want trillian and arthur to actually be together. it’s not meant to happen.

religion also plays a part in the last book when arthur is lost and doesn’t know what to do with himself after losing fenchurch (which i argue represents his adherence to social constructs/heterosexuality and then the loss of the structure he adhered to) he begins looking for advice and prayers. what he receives is basically the same in ‘pointlessness’ as “we apologize for the inconvenience.” arthur is told “you come to me for advice, but you can’t cope with anything you don’t recognize. so we’ll have to tell you something you already know but make it sound like news” and “protect me from knowing that i decided not to know about the things that i decided not to know about…it’s what you pray silently inside yourself anyway.” arthur is told what he’s always known: he has no faith and regardless of whether god is real or not his adherence to social constructs despite his freedom from them since leaving earth is completely made up by himself. whatever it is that arthur is struggling with, it’s an internal construct. he doesn’t have to do this, he’s doing it bc it’s all he’s ever known.

in the same way that a life comes to an end, arthur is realizing that every effort he’s made to abide by these constructs set on earth are pointless. all the effort doesn’t matter to god. if god is even real, it’s unlikely he’s even watching if he views all this struggle as only an inconvenience.
