Another one of the emoji drabble prompt! Thought of dino plushie but didn't know how to include that, so instead I put Morgan in.

"I'm craving a croissant. Let's go to France." 

Tony lifts his head from the Starkpad on his lap. "To get croissants?" 

"Yes." 

Tony blinks. He shrugs. "Sure. Why not."

"Now?" Morgan chimes in, clutching the dino plushie they won in a claw machine to her chest. "But who's gonna look over Oscar?" 

She'd decided to name the dino Oscar, and had insisted upon it despite her dads asking her certainty. 

"Cloak will." The cloak flaps about, affronted. "Fine, fine. Just bring Oscar with us. It'll be a quick trip, anyway." 

Morgan cheers as Stephen readies himself to create a portal.

What is your favorite part of the writing/editing/posting process? 

Researching. I love falling into research rabbit holes

Figuring out an absolutely brilliant plot point that came out of the blue. Reinvigorates a story for me every time.

When I write a piece of description/dialogue/etc that makes me go "holy crap that's so good".

Finishing. Finishing is a great feeling. The longer the story, the better the feeling.

Comments! Kudos will always be lovely but I grew up in the days where fanfic communities really came together with comments and there's still a bit of serotonin rush when I get a comment email. If I open it and the comment's over a couple lines long, the serotonin rush comes again before I've even registered what it says. (I know that comments take energy and effort that I don't always have myself so it's nothing I demand -- but because I know it takes work, I suppose it makes seeing the comment even sweeter.)

What is your least favorite part of the writing/editing/posting process? 

I luckily enjoy the majority of the process, including the editing (of at least my own writing; I am less good at being a consistent editor for others, and I'm very slow at editing RP logs haha). I'd say the worst part of it is when you want to write but something in life is making it difficult to write due to the lack of energy.

In the cleanup/polishing process (after the first or even second draft of a scene is done), going back in to the less interesting parts in a long fic (like over 10k) and beefing those parts up so quality remains consistent can be a bit of a chore sometimes. My beta (@coolnemmythings) is invaluable here at finding the parts I can strengthen and I try until my heart's no longer into it. Then it's "done" and up it goes.

Note for anyone who betas: see if the writer you're betaing for is comfortable with such suggestions. It goes beyond finding misspellings and cleaning up weird sentence structure and goes into poking into pacing, character motivation, pointing out where you may need more physical description or "showing not telling". It's very much the "next step" in the writing process and not all fic writers will be comfortable with this because it is 100% a type of criticism in the very technical sense, but I've 100% grown as a writer and my stories would not be where they are today without this invaluable assistance. I have grown as a writer because of her help.

PS. We're meeting IRL later this year and I cannot tell you how excited that makes me. Ugh she's so great.

One Year Anniversary

So... apparently I've had this blog for a whole year.

I want to say thank you to all my beloved followers and mutuals!! I'm blessed to have met such creative and beautiful people.

Everyday, I can log on and see the love you have for me and the incredible support we all have for each other.

I love tumblr because it's an escape from reality. I may be having a hard time irl, but online, it's almost like a second chance. Y'all don't know that I failed a homework assignment or that I have a massive pimple on my cheek. It's incredible that I can just be myself and talk incoherently with people that share similar interests to myself.

Everyone has welcomed me with open arms, to which I am so grateful!

GUYS! I can finally talk about this! @harpywritesfic and I did a real life fic exchange (because both of us jokingly reacted to a post about it). It's the first time I bound a fic into a book. It turned out so nice. And I had so much fun with this project.

I will start posting chapters soon, now that it arrived at Harpy's place.

🗣️Talk about your favourite WIP

I am absolutely exhausted doing all this prep for work and the pre trip plans so I'm getting to asks slowly. I still owe an answer to an ask about 2 weeks ago that I want to do some fic recs for (which is why I haven't gotten to it yet - I'm trying to get to it before I leave though). But I wanted to reach out here and mention it in this ask.

Anyways this ask.

My fave is definitely the final fic in the Earth-197320 series. This was asked a couple times so I'll say a different thing in each ask about this WIP.

One reason the WIP is my fave is because I did evil!Stephen fighting good!Stephen long before it became seen in a lot of fandom stuff and long before it was seen in canon and I really enjoy my perception of him. I'm having a lot of fun building up the climax to this series in this final fic and building up the strands I've been weaving over time. With luck it'll be out before the end of the year.
